Show Notes

It's time to shift into gear... Full Gear that is! Dynamite forms a three hour Voltron of wrestling with Collision this week for the go home show before the big Full Gear PPV on Saturday and AEW delivers a solid week of TV. The first two entrants for the National Title Casino Gauntlet are determined, the Women's Tag Title Tournament semi-finals are set, and Hangman Page battles Katsuyori Shibata! Erika, Ella, and the returning Topanga Rainbows conglomerate and break down all the action this week, plus: I really hope you guys love tangents and segues. Because we have those. Lot's of those.

International fuse lighting! It sounds illegal but trust me this boom is on the level and not subject to tariffs.

[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void. But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling. And with that, there was Monday, and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages. On the second day, God got depressed and lo did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday. On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her. We know what that means. And welcome back to Wednesday night Fake Fights, where we talk about all things. Aw, dynamite. I am not Jeff the toking Mongoose. This is Erica Warrens taking over the introductory duties for tonight's episode. Jeff is taking the night off because he is a little bit under the weather. We also do not have Piper, but I have generously teleported from the other side of the planet to be here with everyone via the power of discord and friendship. [00:01:36] Speaker B: And a teleporter. Thank you very much. Me and the clones built a teleporter. Thank you. Credit to the girls in the basement. Thank you. [00:01:44] Speaker A: But I am not alone. If you. If my two lovely guests, co hosts, would like to introduce themselves. [00:01:53] Speaker B: Well, I was already talking. I should go first. It's me, Ella. I'm here. Hi. I missed last week to in the Blood in the guts, and I was very sad about that. Unfortunately, I came down with a case of gay and it really just knocked sky sky blue. Just, just almost killed me. So, you know, it's a thing that happens. But I'm here now to talk about the fallout, the post, the what we call it after viscera of blood and guts. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. [00:02:32] Speaker C: Yes. And hi ho to you all. Once again, I'm the effervescent, always pleasant Topanga Rainbows stepping in. [00:02:40] Speaker B: Indeed. [00:02:41] Speaker A: Well, yes. [00:02:42] Speaker B: You're back. [00:02:43] Speaker C: So glad to be back. I love it here. [00:02:46] Speaker A: I greatly enjoyed everything you had to offer last week. I giggled, but, yes, it was fun. It was fun listening to that. [00:02:56] Speaker B: Well, I, I giggled it, you know, I just giggled. You've, you've been on the Monday night show before, and I was like, cackling in my, in my kitchen, like, girl was the first guest. That being said, I'm gonna correct you, Topanga. You were not also the guest on the second episode. You were the guest on the first episod third episode. [00:03:18] Speaker C: Third was. I didn't think it was the second. I, I, I knew it was one of the early ones. [00:03:24] Speaker B: Yeah, on the recording you said first and second. I was like, Erica Was the second. Yeah. Point being we've been doing this a long time. Yes. [00:03:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:34] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:03:35] Speaker B: And now I have friends wrestling major friends. [00:03:38] Speaker C: I was. I was but a small lad. [00:03:41] Speaker B: Yes. And now I'm a whole ass girl. [00:03:50] Speaker A: Well, anyways, we are here to discuss the. What the hell day was it? It was like two days for me at this point. [00:03:58] Speaker C: That was. Yeah, that was last night, the 19th. [00:04:01] Speaker A: That was yesterday morning for me. [00:04:04] Speaker B: You shouldn't be trying to do math. You're. You just teleported here from Japan. You shouldn't be trying to like think. [00:04:12] Speaker A: I'll do as I please. Don't. Don't tell me what to do. All right, so we have. It is the November 19th ed emanating from the. I was going to say fine city but we'll just call it, you know, we'll put quotations around that city of Boston for a three hour Dinolision. [00:04:34] Speaker B: A lodge. A large regular dinolision. [00:04:38] Speaker A: Large regular dinolision. And it had a pretty stacked card tonight. [00:04:47] Speaker C: Yeah. A lot of great matches. [00:04:50] Speaker A: Yeah. They called it pay per view quality. I don't quite know about that but maybe. Maybe like one of like the lesser Ring of Honor shows. [00:05:01] Speaker C: It was at the very least ple. [00:05:03] Speaker A: Quality there you le quality. [00:05:07] Speaker B: No, no, it was better than that. Jesus. [00:05:11] Speaker C: Yeah, it said at the least. So there's room for growth there. [00:05:14] Speaker B: At the very least. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll put it this way. [00:05:24] Speaker A: It was. [00:05:25] Speaker B: It was pay per view quality for AEW maybe a couple years ago. [00:05:30] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:31] Speaker B: But that's under saying that last night's show was pay per view quality is underselling. The these have been doing for the last year and a half on my favor. [00:05:42] Speaker A: They've been. Yeah. On a huge tear like it's been just a roll. [00:05:46] Speaker B: The role of all roles like they're. They're on a run. [00:05:50] Speaker A: So the action kicks off right away with a match. This is Bobby Lashley of the Hurt Syndicate versus Ricochet of the Demand. [00:06:02] Speaker B: No way. [00:06:03] Speaker D: Really? [00:06:04] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. They're eating. So. But. But what makes this match special and different is that. [00:06:12] Speaker B: Please tell me. [00:06:15] Speaker A: Well, I will tell you. Thank you. This match is to determine the number one entrant in the Casino gauntlet Battle Royale. Which will determine the first ever AEW National Champion and make what's his name from the Spirit Squad cry more. [00:06:33] Speaker B: Yeah, that's all really cool. If these two. Tony. Tony, I know you're listening. If you book these two again, I will find you and I will ring bell. Ring bell. Ring bell, ring. [00:06:49] Speaker C: At least we did the right thing with this match. It was nice and sweet. [00:06:54] Speaker A: This was. [00:06:55] Speaker B: Don't get me wrong, they. They work real good. It's just. I loved it the first nine times I saw it. Like. Like, just. I need to be done with this. [00:07:09] Speaker C: Saying it. [00:07:10] Speaker A: They're very much in a holding pattern, and it starting to be like, ah, where's this going? Anyway? Lashley makes his entrance, and then Ricochet comes out with his Eagles hat and gear, and he. He's got a mic and he's just talking. [00:07:27] Speaker B: Go Birds. [00:07:29] Speaker A: Go Birds. [00:07:31] Speaker C: As long as we're. We're making call to Tony Khan, I would like to ask him to allow Bishop Khan to wear the Pan African World Diaspora World title on if Mercedes gets to wear 13 indie belts. Let Khan wear the prettiest belt out there. [00:07:49] Speaker A: Yes, I agree. I 100% agree. So ricochet just is having. Having a whole shit fit about how everyone is going to respect him. And I'm noticing very quickly, like, this is going long. [00:08:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:07] Speaker A: Why are we talking? Why? [00:08:09] Speaker B: Like, everybody at the same time was like, this is really going. This is still happening. Like, the entire Wrestle sky was like, why? Don't get me wrong, I love Ricochet on a mic. What the is going on? [00:08:20] Speaker A: Yeah, it felt like they were trying to get the. The level of heat he had a couple weeks ago where he was talking the whole time and the crowd just would not stop booing him. But they wanted to see Lashley just commit a murder, and that's what happened. [00:08:36] Speaker B: I will say, like, the fact that he kept the mic on himself through the whole thing, just. Oh. [00:08:49] Speaker A: They had to make sure to get that scream in there. [00:08:52] Speaker B: It was so good. [00:08:53] Speaker C: It was so good. [00:08:54] Speaker A: It was really good. So, yes, Lashley has enough starts manhandling him a bit. Ricochet does get a little bit of offense in. He does get his flippy stuff, and then he's going for the spirit gun. And then this was like, one of the coolest things I've ever seen is Lashley just catches him in mid stride as he's, like, about to do the palm strike. Slams him to the ground, picks him up, and then spears the ever loving out of him. And that's the end of the match. Like, it's. It's like maybe five minutes long. It's essentially a squash. It's awesome. [00:09:35] Speaker C: Yeah. Take that, Nixon, Newell and Miranda Elise. You don't need three minutes. [00:09:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:41] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. [00:09:45] Speaker C: That's all I could think is this was just them saying, screw you. Our own contracted talent can Sometimes have a three minute match. [00:09:53] Speaker B: Yeah, it was. [00:09:54] Speaker D: Oh my. [00:09:55] Speaker A: It. [00:09:55] Speaker B: But like also like, it was great. And you. Like, this whole time I've done nothing but about the fact that they had these two wrestle again. And at the end of it, I'm still going. Great match banger. [00:10:07] Speaker C: Yeah, that was a great match. [00:10:09] Speaker B: Him going, bobby, put me down. [00:10:11] Speaker A: Put me down. I loved it. [00:10:13] Speaker B: My moments of the night. [00:10:16] Speaker A: Just him catching the spirit gun like that, like makes it worth it. Like, that is just like the coolest. [00:10:23] Speaker B: Yeah, like. Like two of the best moments of the night in the opening match. A three minute squash between two people that I do not want to see wrestle anymore. And it's like, I love pro wrestling. [00:10:37] Speaker C: It looked like Lashley got some color at the end. Like he. His ear was a little messed up at the end. Like in three minutes they told so much story that it's like, well, yeah, this is great. [00:10:51] Speaker B: By the end of this, I'm gonna be going pay per view. Pay per view anyways. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Oh, you know, they're gonna have like so many. They're gonna wrestle for the national title. You know, that's happening. Like that's. That's coming up for. What's the next one? World's End. [00:11:11] Speaker C: One of the good things about a Gauntlet is it's a good place for people who have been stuck feuding for too long can find new fuse because there's so many people in the match. So I think this could be a real good chance for them to. To shift. [00:11:26] Speaker A: I think so too. I think it's. It's way past time. I think, like it's. [00:11:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:11:31] Speaker A: Over. It's decided. Hurt Syndicate wins something else for everybody. All right, to the back. And we have Joe and Shibata and. All right, my notes on this are spotty. Basically, Joe says Hangman Page is a fighting champion and he's gonna kill him anyway. But he's not allowed to get involved in Hangman's match with Shabata tonight. So it is up to him to extract retribution for what happened to Powerhouse Hobbs at Blood and Guts, where Hangman did a murder. It looked like. Yeah. [00:12:08] Speaker B: Hey, man. [00:12:08] Speaker C: Did a murder. Yeah. [00:12:10] Speaker B: Hangman's gonna murder. Wait. Hangman's is just gonna have to kill every single member of the ops. He's just. He made him do it. Look at what you made him do. [00:12:19] Speaker C: Yeah, and he's not even blinking about it. He's gonna do it. [00:12:23] Speaker A: It's gonna happen. Everyone's gonna die. [00:12:26] Speaker B: He hasn't even burned any of their houses down yet. [00:12:28] Speaker A: Like, well, it hasn't gotten quite that bad yet. But yeah. So yeah, Jared's going to finish the job. That Shabbata starts tonight at full gear. And then we go to the Young Bucks with Renee and they're, they're being all nostalgic and watching old full gear highlights. And Renee wants to know if they are joining the Don Callis family. And Don appears from nowhere as he is. Want to do say his name. [00:12:56] Speaker B: He appears. I believe in Don Callis. [00:13:00] Speaker A: I believe in John Callous more than that other talentless hack, yo soy Joe Henry. Okay. I'm very sorry for you. [00:13:23] Speaker C: Anyway, I'm not Henry, but I don't get it. I liked the song like three times and then I was like, okay, I'm done. [00:13:32] Speaker A: He's an example of why you never want to be an Internet meme wrestler without like, you know, actually being good at wrestling. [00:13:40] Speaker B: I've never seen a single match. All I know is his face makes me uncomfortable. Anyways, continues. [00:13:46] Speaker A: Anyway, that guy sucks. So yeah, Don says we'll get the answer the minute after their match and their match is next. And he's, he's like, don't worry guys. I got, I've got your big frick announcement. I got your pyro. [00:14:02] Speaker C: And then we hear Renee yell for some ice out of nowhere. And that's. I don't think that was supposed to be on camera. [00:14:10] Speaker A: I thought she was calling for a mic. Yeah, I think she, I think they're probably trying to. Supposed to get Don Callis a mic. [00:14:21] Speaker B: Yeah, she was calling it for a mic for Don Callis. I think that. Okay, it was, I don't think it was supposed to be get. I don't think they were supposed to catch it either. I think that was absolutely a production moment. Yeah, that was. Renee forgot. Yeah, yeah, I used though. I don't know, maybe she heard a little drinky poop. [00:14:42] Speaker C: That's what I thought I heard. [00:14:44] Speaker A: Diva. [00:14:45] Speaker C: I'm getting old. [00:14:46] Speaker A: Renee. Packet. All right, so we're just like launch right into our next match as this is a tune up match for Josh Alexander and the Young bucks who are going to be in that one million dollar match at full gear. And they are taking on Skyflight, Scorpio sky and Top Flight because we yeah, really need to keep trying with Scorpio Sky. [00:15:16] Speaker B: And more importantly, Top Flight needs to be on tv. [00:15:20] Speaker A: Top Flight does need to be on tv. Like this gets them on tv. [00:15:24] Speaker C: I really don't get the strategy with Top Flight. Like they've gotten over. [00:15:30] Speaker A: They were very over Several times. [00:15:33] Speaker C: Dante was challenging for the world title at one point, and now it's like, let's just pair them up with any act that comes along. And I don't get it. [00:15:42] Speaker B: They've gotten over together, like, twice. They've gotten over separate multiple times. They've gotten over with other people. Like, they've been here, like, what, almost the whole time, haven't they? Like, I'm not a. You would know better. [00:15:58] Speaker C: Yeah, Yeah. [00:15:59] Speaker B: I mean, y'. [00:16:00] Speaker C: All. [00:16:00] Speaker B: I mean, you were. They were. Technically, I was still local when they're here, but I wasn't going to wrestling. You were so like that. [00:16:08] Speaker C: I think at that point I wasn't, but I was very aware of them when I started going. Darius was in his first injury, but. But I was definitely aware of the local scene and knew them. And they made a big splash when they were masked and they had just unmasked. And then a couple months later, they're on aew. [00:16:35] Speaker B: That's wild. [00:16:37] Speaker A: Yeah, they're one of those acts that got really over on Dark, and it was, like, kind of undeniable. Like, they had to keep them around, especially Dante, because, like, Dante, I think Dante kind of secured them their position because he was so good solo during that when. [00:16:56] Speaker C: Yeah, that's team Taz. Wrong. [00:16:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes. I wonder. I don't, I don't. I'm sure Taz has not dropped that lawsuit yet. [00:17:04] Speaker C: No, his lawyer's still looking. [00:17:07] Speaker B: Oh, I know. Is that. I, I, I am that. Absolutely. That girl who becomes the Leo meme every time they're on tv, I go, they're from here. [00:17:18] Speaker C: They're good guys. I have, I have met them. Yeah, they're really good guys. [00:17:27] Speaker B: I'm so happy for them, and I don't ever, ever want to see them get injured ever again. [00:17:33] Speaker A: Yeah. Because that was really gross that one time. [00:17:36] Speaker B: Yeah. The Canadian destroyer that haunts me in my dreams. Yeah, that one. Anyways, where were we? Not thinking about that. Not thinking about that. [00:17:46] Speaker A: I'd. I'd rather watch the Sid leg break over and over again. [00:17:49] Speaker C: Yeah. Take me back to Sid Vicious, like. Yeah. [00:17:56] Speaker A: Listen, I, I, I said I took notes for this episode, and my notes are pretty bad because I was watching live, and it's hard to take notes live. [00:18:07] Speaker C: I got, like, four pages. [00:18:10] Speaker A: I have a lot of notes, but, like, my notes are not very good. So. [00:18:15] Speaker B: Wait, wait. Do we have to. Do we have to pull the. Do we have to pull the pod over? Hold on, kid. [00:18:20] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. [00:18:22] Speaker B: We can switch around. [00:18:24] Speaker A: I'M just saying. [00:18:25] Speaker B: Are we gonna make Topanga drive? [00:18:28] Speaker A: I'm just saying, if you. If. If there is a spot that I don't mention, feel free to call it out. [00:18:35] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:18:35] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:36] Speaker B: So you're still driving, but Topanga's gonna occasionally reach over and pull the wheel. [00:18:40] Speaker C: AI on the map. [00:18:42] Speaker B: There you go. Okay. [00:18:43] Speaker A: Yes. [00:18:44] Speaker B: Because I am just blazed in the back seat. So, like, I. Let's. I cannot. I can't. It's been a long day and I. I'm. The brain is full of chicken grease and grabs. So let's go. [00:19:00] Speaker A: All right, so we've got. Yeah, they. They. Don Callis is on commentary. I did not write any interesting commentary from Don. Dante Martin, Nick Jackson, flip around a bunch to as and they get a standoff. So that was. That was cool. The Bucks start going in with their usual offense as they take control. Yeah, like the, the faces. The faces have like the early advantage and then the heels take over 101 tag team. [00:19:30] Speaker B: So there's nothing great so far. No, this is a Bucks match. Yeah, no, you're painting a picture. I could see it in my mind. [00:19:36] Speaker A: Well, no, it is a Bucks match. Like, what want me to say? They flip around, they kick people, they shout at each other. Christopher Daniels is here. [00:19:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:50] Speaker A: Josh Alexander gets his. I. I don't know if he has a name for it, but that seated with like, seated crossbody, like, guy sitting on the apron and he just like goes flying at the. [00:20:01] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's good. Everyone gets their in. God, I haven't used that phrase in a mile because it's. Yeah, it's been a while since the Monday night show. But no, I. This was like, everyone get your in match. [00:20:15] Speaker A: That. [00:20:15] Speaker B: This is bringing that back for. From the old show. That. That's the best way to describe it. [00:20:21] Speaker C: They even let Top Flight hit their finisher, the nose dive. I haven't seen that on TV in like two years. [00:20:30] Speaker A: That was very cool. [00:20:31] Speaker B: Like, let's it in, let's go. Like, so literally everyone get your in. [00:20:38] Speaker A: There was. It was absolutely a. A case of. This is a preview match. This is a tune up match. This is a go home show. Get your in and. Yeah, I, I will. I will give the Bucks and Alexander credit. They did let Top Flight shine. Not so much Scorpio sky because he's. Yeah, he can only do so much. Yeah. But, like, Top Flight got a lot of shine. They, like you said, they hit the nosedive, which was just like, wow. And that popped the crowd big. Is it Dante They. They got. They got Dante alone with the Bucks and he basically bounced around them for a minute, just avoiding all of their moves. Like he does his. Like. Like when he. He jumped over the BTE trigger. [00:21:34] Speaker B: No, I remember that. [00:21:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:36] Speaker B: No, I remember this match. [00:21:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I remember this match. Yeah. So he. He's. He's doing his dodging smokes off. [00:21:48] Speaker D: This is. [00:21:49] Speaker B: This is my not doing notes show. Okay. I'm allowed. [00:21:54] Speaker A: Eventually they catch him. [00:21:56] Speaker B: Eventually. [00:21:58] Speaker A: Eventually they catch him. TK driver. And you would think that would finish it. That would finish it. But Josh Alexander decides, no, I'm going to break his leg locks in the ankle lock. And that's what finishes it. We get a little bit of dissent now between the Young Bucks and Don Callis family. [00:22:17] Speaker D: It's my favorite thing about the Don Callis family because they're as dysfunctional as any other family. It's perfect. Any. Most people who call themselves a family in wrestling, you know, everything's hunky dory until it's not. This is like a real family. [00:22:36] Speaker A: I. I do like the idea, like, well, we'll talk about it a bit later. But like, I like the idea that Don Callis just has done that, to use a baseball reference, the Yankees thing, and just put the best of everybody together and not thought about how do they mesh? [00:22:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Not thought about, like, how are the egos gonna work? You know? Right. [00:22:57] Speaker A: Like, he's. [00:22:58] Speaker B: He's about team dynamics, bro. [00:23:01] Speaker A: He's very clearly just been like, I get to cash that endocada and not consider the fact that they want to kill each other. [00:23:11] Speaker B: And we all want to watch. Exquisite. [00:23:19] Speaker A: Last week, they had been. The Bucks had been given a deadline to say whether or not they're joining the family. So Don gets in the ring and the rest of the Don Callis family comes out. And the world is waiting, he says, for the young Bucks to join the Don Callis family. And he knows they're nervous. It reminds them that, you know, he's been helping them out with money entrances and they're getting big matches again. They're still hesitant, but he reminds them again, aw is dangerous and you have no family. Bad stuff. [00:23:53] Speaker D: And now he's going mafia family. [00:23:54] Speaker A: Yeah. Hint, hint. He'd hate to see what happened to Kenny Omega happen to them. Which is our cue for battle cry to hit. [00:24:03] Speaker B: I was gonna say. So I entered the. [00:24:05] Speaker A: The Omega candy comes out with his chair. [00:24:10] Speaker B: Naturally. [00:24:12] Speaker A: And he. He just. He makes a beeline for Josh Alexander. Like, they very underrated how they have built up Kenny Omega versus Josh Alexander as a thing. Like, it's. It's been in the works for, like, as long as Okada vs Takeshita. It has been. But it's much more under. It's much more understated. [00:24:34] Speaker B: It's. It's Canada on Canada. Hate crimes. And. And Josh Alexander has to pay for what he did, bud. You know. [00:24:44] Speaker A: Oh, you know what you did, pal? [00:24:46] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. You know what you did, buddy? I have a scrap. [00:24:53] Speaker D: That's why. [00:24:54] Speaker B: That's why I brought the chair. [00:24:57] Speaker A: And I. I also. I also absolutely love that Don Callis just, like, vanishes the second Keddy Omega appears every time. [00:25:06] Speaker B: And it's like every. He's just like, oh. [00:25:11] Speaker A: It'S amazing. [00:25:13] Speaker B: You know what you did. Oh, fantastic. [00:25:19] Speaker A: But the numbers game gets the better of Kenny. Actually. No, wait. The bucks pull him off Josh Alexander because. [00:25:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:30] Speaker A: And, yeah, that brings Don Callis back into the ring. He says he demands that they bte trigger Kenny Omega as a sign of their joining the family, Give him one. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Of these, and he, like, does the. Like. Yeah, does a little. A little. [00:25:49] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:50] Speaker D: Just sitting there doing knees to nobody in the background, obviously. Love it. [00:25:58] Speaker B: Cyrus. But, yeah, thankfully, we have a Jurassic Express. [00:26:07] Speaker A: Yes. Whitland Jack and his dinosaur hit the ring for the same cleaner. The vacuum cleaner. Yes. [00:26:17] Speaker B: Because he's the cleaner. [00:26:18] Speaker A: You know, whoever. Some. Somebody said. Somebody said on goddamn commentary. Like, I've never seen somebody with a vacuum cleaner in a wrestling ring. And I was like, that is not true. I have seen New Jack to a wrestling ring. No. And it was. It was literally Don Callis on commentary for that match. And he said, the only other guy I know kept a. Who kept a vacuum cleaner in a trash can was Oscar the Grouch. And he was an ornery son of a. [00:26:52] Speaker B: So he lied twice in the same story. [00:26:59] Speaker D: Worked twice, worked twice. [00:27:03] Speaker B: New Jack. Now that's an ori. Son of a. And also, I've. I've seen a vacuum in a wrestling match before because I'm pretty sure there was a vacuum involved in the match between Jeff Jarrett and China, where it was like a home EC match or whatever. [00:27:23] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:27:24] Speaker D: The kitchen sink match. [00:27:25] Speaker B: The kitchen sink, man. Oh, Jesus. Vince Russo. Christ. [00:27:32] Speaker A: Misogyny is okay as long as the woman wins. [00:27:36] Speaker B: Yeah, right. I don't know. She wanted to work Jeff Jarrett, so I guess she got the. I think she went on that end. I remember loving it as a kid. Anyways, the point being, you can do housework and wrestle. Look. Also, see also Perry Saturn in the mop. God. [00:27:58] Speaker A: To the Back. Renee is with the Babes of Wrath and they were in Blood and Guts and mix it up with the Sisters of Sin. That was like, absolutely sick as hell. Since I was not here to talk about Blood and Guts last week was awesome. [00:28:14] Speaker B: Neither was I. Oh, my God. [00:28:18] Speaker A: Good job, ladies. [00:28:21] Speaker B: Yes. More, More. Everything I wanted, basically. And if it weren't for Kyle O'Reilly and Jon Moxley at the end, I would be like, we don't even need the this one this year. All right, but then, then. Oh, my God. Anyways, no, we're talking about last week. [00:28:43] Speaker A: Yes. [00:28:46] Speaker B: We gotta talk about this week. Point being, I love Kyle O'Reilly. [00:28:50] Speaker A: Well, we'll talk about Kyle. That beautiful, beautiful boy. Yeah, The. The Babes of Wrath feel that people are sort of overlooking them. Even though the fact that they defeated Athena and Mercedes last week, the all gold team. And they'll keep doing it, though. They'll. They'll win again. And then Tony Schiavone gives a little tribute to the late Bob Coddle. Yeah, they're announcing. Yeah. You could tell that he meant a lot to him. [00:29:26] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:29:27] Speaker A: Very emotional. Go, go watch it if you can find it. It was really nice. [00:29:33] Speaker B: As someone who regularly, like, goes back and watches, like, the old NWA stuff that I can find on Peacock still, like, yeah, Bob Cottle and Baby, Baby, Baby Tony Schiabone. Small child Siobhan. Yeah, the baby Siobhan. So, like, yeah, when he was talking about that, I was like, no, he means that like, it's like, I've seen those two work. Yeah, Like I've seen those two work together. Yeah. [00:30:12] Speaker A: Good stuff. That's like, Think about that. Like, this is. He's like Tony Schiavone's childhood idol. [00:30:26] Speaker B: That was an old holy. [00:30:30] Speaker A: Yeah, like, paddle was 95. I think he had a. He lived a long time. [00:30:36] Speaker B: Anyways, this is now. This is gonna turn into the existential dread podcast. Let's keep talking about graphs. Yeah. [00:30:43] Speaker D: Oh, he sucked outside of wrestling. So, yeah, back to graps. [00:30:49] Speaker B: I don't want to think about the passage of time. [00:30:55] Speaker A: We have another match. Shelton Benjamin versus Speedball Mike Bailey. And this is for the number two entry into the. [00:31:03] Speaker D: This is like a personal dream match for me. [00:31:06] Speaker A: This match ruled. Oh, man. So hard. First off, shout out. Shout out to Kevin Knights for his sick ass tiger mask sweatshirt. [00:31:20] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:31:21] Speaker A: That was really nice. [00:31:23] Speaker D: And I. I might have missed that because every time he speedball comes out, I just start singing Brass monkey. [00:31:30] Speaker B: That funky monkey. Yeah. [00:31:32] Speaker D: Oh, miss that song for him. [00:31:37] Speaker B: This is why we need to support. We need to, like, give all of our love and support and attention to Speedball and let Tony Cotton, who is listening to this, know that he is worth getting the music rights. Get them the rights. [00:31:55] Speaker A: Just buy the Beastie Boys. [00:31:56] Speaker B: Just buy the. There's only, like, one of them left. Just buy them. [00:32:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:04] Speaker B: You could do that, right? [00:32:08] Speaker D: If wrestling has taught me anything, it's that you can absolutely just buy a person. [00:32:13] Speaker B: Yeah, everybody's got a price. [00:32:19] Speaker A: Yes. You can just buy a person somehow. It's not slavery. [00:32:26] Speaker D: No, you can even get a slave by beating them in a match. Like. [00:32:30] Speaker B: Well, this happened, like, a lot. [00:32:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:34] Speaker D: Yeah, we got another. Yeah. Mark Briscoe's about to maybe be forced into the Don Cal's family against his will. What is that like? [00:32:41] Speaker B: Yeah, that's trafficking. [00:32:44] Speaker A: Well, that's. That's. That's a press gang. That's Shanghai. That's the word for it. [00:32:52] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, no, they're not gonna knock him out, and he's not gonna wake up on a boat expected to do labor. Well, you don't know. [00:33:01] Speaker D: It's no holds bar. We don't know what's gonna happen. It's no dq. [00:33:07] Speaker A: What if it's on a boat? [00:33:09] Speaker D: Bring back cinematic matches by having Mark Briscoe wake up on a boat and fight his way off it. [00:33:15] Speaker A: Yes. [00:33:15] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Tony, book it. [00:33:19] Speaker A: I would love to see an Arrow Flynn impersonation by. [00:33:26] Speaker B: Yes. Let's go. Let's go. [00:33:28] Speaker A: Movies. All right, so, yes, Code of honor is honored at the start of the match. They shake hands. [00:33:38] Speaker B: That was really nice. Yeah. Too. I remember watching it, like, hey, Holy. Code of honor adhered to. Let's go. [00:33:49] Speaker A: Shelton is a baby face technically, even though he very much murtilates poor speedball in this. [00:33:58] Speaker B: He. Look, he might be a baby face, but he hurts people. [00:34:02] Speaker A: He does hurt people. And he did. [00:34:05] Speaker B: That trounces everything else. He hurt people. [00:34:08] Speaker A: Yep. So. Oh, MVP is on commentary for this one as well. Just. Just to be. [00:34:14] Speaker B: Speaking of Bobby Heenan. [00:34:17] Speaker A: Speedy's trying, like, right out the gate to out Strike Shelton, and the chops don't work, but the kicks sort of do. Yeah, it's sort of working for him until he tries to go for some arm submissions after Shelton jams his arm. [00:34:33] Speaker D: Up around him like a spider monkey. [00:34:36] Speaker A: Yeah. And that sort of ends up being his downfall as Shelton gets the better of them and takes control going to the commercial. MVP on commentary is kind of weird here because he's being a little bit heelish. [00:34:50] Speaker B: He was really getting into it, yes, very much. [00:34:54] Speaker A: Like, what's the word? It's Mike Bailey has no chance. He keeps doing dumb stuff. [00:35:00] Speaker D: Overconfident. Cocky. [00:35:03] Speaker A: Yes, that's, that's the word, apparently. [00:35:06] Speaker D: And it found out this later. Part of that was later in the match he was supposed to start getting worried to put over speedball. And then the ending got happened prematurely and he never got there. [00:35:21] Speaker B: Oh, so he's, he was telling his own story. There you go. There you go. [00:35:27] Speaker A: Okay, okay, okay. [00:35:29] Speaker B: Everybody's a storyteller. I like it. [00:35:31] Speaker A: I'll give it to mvp. Like, he's, you know, some people have their opinions on him, but he is good at the storytelling part of it. [00:35:39] Speaker B: Like, people have a pit. Wait, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Because I will derail this whole thing. People don't like MVP there. [00:35:50] Speaker D: I know that some people got upset back when they were feuding with mjf and MJF brought the bevy of ladies to give to them. And then MVP in character online was defending it and people got upset about that. And I don't know, I tend to just ignore most gray area stuff because there's some actual, you know, black and white areas that are still being ignored. So yeah. [00:36:24] Speaker B: It'S wrestling. Yeah. [00:36:28] Speaker A: MV mvp. Is he, he has what I think we referred to at one time called the 79 Stink. So he does all that old school heel stuff that does not translate well with modern audiences sometimes. [00:36:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, okay. Yeah, sure. Okay. Well, you know, you can be wrong. [00:36:50] Speaker A: They can be wrong. So at one point, yeah, so like MVP is having a blast on commentary essentially. So like at one point he actually does like stand up and just like you can hear him say it into the microphone and like the cameras pick it up as well, where he's just screams, hey, Shelton, stop playing with your food. [00:37:09] Speaker B: Yes, stop playing with your food and eat so we can go eat. Yeah, I, I, I took in my head, I was like, he's not even here. And that's a TAS line of the night. Because that felt like, that felt like such a t. Stop playing with your food. Eat so we can go eat. [00:37:34] Speaker D: There was this spot where speedball hits a pet. A pk. A penalty kick. [00:37:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:39] Speaker D: And then Shelton just sits up. And it was at that moment that I was like, that's right. This man was in Suzuki Goon. [00:37:50] Speaker B: And I also don't know what that means. [00:37:54] Speaker C: Oh, wow. [00:37:55] Speaker D: You've, you've seen Minoru Suzuki murder Grandpa, right? [00:37:58] Speaker B: Oh, yes, I'm a big fan of, of, yeah, he was part of his. [00:38:03] Speaker D: Murder stable in Japan for a short while. [00:38:07] Speaker B: Yeah, no, he'll. He'll get. They kill people. We kill people. [00:38:12] Speaker D: Yeah. Just the way he sat up after that pk, I was like, am I watching Shabata Suzuki again? Like, that was really cool. [00:38:25] Speaker B: Oh, fantastic. [00:38:27] Speaker A: This was, this was really good. It was a good big man, little man match. And you could tell, like, the story really was like, Shelton was able to overpower a speedball for most of it. And then Speedy's offense came when they were actually like, sticking with what they do best, which is strikes. And every time he kept trying to go to the armbar. Shelton was able to, you know, just get out of it immediately. Dot like, God, there was so many cool dives too. Speedball was just all over. He was just going nuts. [00:39:05] Speaker C: I. [00:39:06] Speaker D: The first time I saw Speedball live, it was for a show that was supposed to be a no ring death match show. And because they booked Speedball Mike Bailey, they needed to get a ring because. [00:39:17] Speaker C: Like, that was like a requirement ring for him. [00:39:21] Speaker D: He's like, I can't do dives. No, you gotta get me a ring. [00:39:25] Speaker B: It's like taking away so much of my. [00:39:29] Speaker A: I guess he's never doing baka Gaia or anything like that. [00:39:34] Speaker B: Bloodsport. [00:39:36] Speaker D: The ending was kind of weird. [00:39:38] Speaker A: The end was very weird. All right, so, like, we're just gonna try and set it up. Speedball gets an arm bar onto Shelton, drags him to the outside, hits a big dive. [00:39:49] Speaker B: Yes. [00:39:51] Speaker A: Shelton comes back in, gets kicked in the face. Near fall. Shelton comes back out of that and is just like, you know, levels him with knee in the corner, like, thrust kicks the out of Bailey. Like, I. Everybody was just like, oh, God damn. [00:40:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:17] Speaker A: You killed that envy. [00:40:22] Speaker B: That was a hate crime. [00:40:27] Speaker A: Cover. 1, 2. Speedball does not kick out, but the ref does not count the three. And it says like, oh, his shoulder was up. His shoulder was up. And everybody. There was like some mass confusion for a second. It's like, what the oh just happened? [00:40:43] Speaker D: Yeah, I got the scoop on that too. [00:40:46] Speaker B: No, please. [00:40:49] Speaker A: Well, wait, wait. Well, let's. Let's actually get them to finish, to finish off the match. They just do the ending that previous sequence again and then they count. [00:41:01] Speaker B: There you go, let's fix it. [00:41:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:41:04] Speaker D: Benjamin beats him up a bit more. So apparently the plan was for the match to end on a super kick, but it wasn't supposed to be that one. Like, that second flurry was supposed to happen. But when that super kick was so goddamn good. Shelton Benjamin called an audible and Said, let's end it now. And Speedball heard him, but Paul Reed did. [00:41:28] Speaker B: It didn't. [00:41:30] Speaker D: So Paul Reed only counted to two because that wasn't supposed to be the ending. And then they just rushed it to the ending. [00:41:37] Speaker A: Okay. [00:41:37] Speaker B: Oh, that's unfortunate. [00:41:40] Speaker A: That is unfortunate. Yeah. I mean, good on them for calling that audible. Yeah, yeah, that was the right call. [00:41:49] Speaker B: Absolutely. I. I forget Topega rule. I forget that. That topega just randomly, like, I know this. I know things. [00:42:01] Speaker D: I'm too tapped in to pull out. Like, I have search for this information. I accidentally saw it. [00:42:12] Speaker B: Yeah, you just. I just. You just know things. It's what I do. [00:42:18] Speaker D: It comes from decades of not knowing anything and being like, what? [00:42:23] Speaker A: Why. [00:42:23] Speaker D: Why am I always out of the loop? I gotta fix this. And now I am, too. Looped in. [00:42:32] Speaker A: Fake Fights Insider. Topanga Rainbows. [00:42:35] Speaker B: There we go. Fantastic. [00:42:38] Speaker A: Yeah, no, that. You know, so that. That's good information. I think we. Well, we're probably not breaking news there. I'm sure somebody else has it, but. [00:42:46] Speaker D: No, I think that's out there. [00:42:48] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah. Because I know there was the. The concern was that, like, Speedball got clipped in the head and might have had a concussion, and that was why he didn't kick out, but. [00:43:00] Speaker B: Oh, God. Well, I'm happy. [00:43:01] Speaker A: It was just. Just some miscommunication. Next match, Death Riders. John Moxley. Claudio Castioli versus the Conglomeration. Roderick Strong and Rodglo the Rod Glover Rodglomeration. He's in the Conglomeration. [00:43:22] Speaker B: He did it. I. Well, after you survive a bloody guts, you know, like, you come out there. [00:43:29] Speaker D: And, like, Paragon music. He's now. [00:43:32] Speaker B: I don't know if he's. [00:43:35] Speaker A: He is in. He's in there. He's in their entrance video. But, like, he's so. Like, if the. If the Conglomeration are a sitcom, Roddy is the grumpy neighbor next door who's like, yeah, I'm sick of those. But, like, he's part of their family, so. [00:43:55] Speaker D: Yeah, when they give us a rotty backstory episode, then he starts to soften up and be like, part of the family, but not until he makes the jump from side character to main character. Yeah. [00:44:07] Speaker A: Yes. [00:44:10] Speaker D: Absolutely. [00:44:11] Speaker A: He's not quite Wilson. He's more. God, I don't know. I don't know. I haven't watched the sitcom in forever. [00:44:24] Speaker B: This is the episode of Tangents. Jesus Christ. Anyway. [00:44:29] Speaker A: Are you kidding me? [00:44:30] Speaker D: This is what happens when you bring me on, is what I bring to the table. [00:44:34] Speaker A: And I'm. I'm very happy to indulge in tangents, so. [00:44:38] Speaker B: And I am the table anyways. [00:44:42] Speaker D: I am the table. [00:44:44] Speaker A: J la T. [00:44:50] Speaker B: Amazing. But no, this is good. Anytime I get Orange Cassidy fighting John Moxley. I. I want those two to have a blood feud forever. I feel like they low key do. And it's the kind of thing that, like, you forget about until you. They find themselves. [00:45:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:45:11] Speaker B: Facing each other and it's like, oh, yeah, no, those two. Yeah. Same with Claudio. Like, every. Every time those two are together. Jesus Christ. [00:45:21] Speaker A: I was gonna say, another thing about this feud has been. I think it's reminded. Not that everybody forgot. I certainly did not forget, but I think it's reminded a lot of people that Roderick Strong is one of the best wrestlers on the planet. [00:45:38] Speaker B: I will say I didn't know this. So, though, like, this feud has, like, like, that's. Well, we've talked about this before. It's the same with Kyle O'Reilly. I didn't watch NXT, so, like, I didn't. I never saw them until they came back from their respective huge injuries. Like, I. I didn't. [00:46:01] Speaker D: NXT's not even where I first saw them because I watched them and bring them on or way back. And like, Roddy from, like, I've been a fan of his for a decade. Like that. And that is a Ring of Honor reference, if you know it. But he is. [00:46:16] Speaker A: He's. [00:46:17] Speaker D: He's always been this good and he's never stopped being this good. And it's scary. Under the radar all this time, and he's got, like, more wrestling moves than, like, anyone. He's got, like. It's insane. [00:46:35] Speaker A: People really think of him as, like, the. The generic. Like, well, not anymore. I really don't think that anymore. Like. But like, there was a period where he was like, all right, you're the vanilla. Sorry to use Kevin Nash's word for it. But yeah, you're the. You're the boring indie guy. You do moves. You don't know how to wrestle. You just know how to. [00:47:01] Speaker D: He was the guy with the shitty little boots. Yeah. [00:47:05] Speaker B: Do flippy. Yeah, you do the flippy. I feel like that's a modern version. Yeah. But, like, that's what the modern guy be like. Oh, you do look that. Whatever. You're not a fed. [00:47:20] Speaker A: Yeah, go. You go break your head on the concrete for a hot dog and a handshake kind of. [00:47:26] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, exactly like this. [00:47:29] Speaker A: Yeah, this is. Keeping him on TV like this and just letting him go all out. Like, I'm. I'm Going to be honest, like, I didn't take a lot of notes on this one and it was because I was just in love with this match. Like, this was, this was just like a fight, a tag team fight. And yeah, it was, it was kind of quick, dirty. So good. [00:47:55] Speaker D: I actually, this match I was like falling back in love with Jon Moxley a little bit. He, like seeing him switch the character up to looking scared and weak, but he's still like he, he's doing moves and things in the ring that people just don't do anymore. Like I, it really hit me when he was doing the whole, you know, scraping someone's eye against the top rope, like, yeah, Dragon, that stuff anymore, that, the little old school things. And just like, I was just like, yeah, this is. Mox is just doing a lot of old school stuff and it's really cool. [00:48:33] Speaker B: Dirty brawler. And also at the same time he's just. Every week I just go, like every week he has a new muscle and it's like, what the, what the happened, man? Like, what happened to you, Jon Moxley? Like just you got sober and then like two years, however many years later you're, you're, you got muscles on your muscles. Next thing you know you're, you be. You know what it is? He's been hanging out with Claudio for however many years now. [00:49:06] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:49:06] Speaker B: And like, like his back is starting to look like, like Claudio's thighs, you know, like, it's just, it's insane Anyways. But yes, Jon Moxley had a great match. [00:49:21] Speaker A: Possibly my favorite part about this match was they were getting the heat on Orange for a good bit of the commercial. And then Roddy comes in and just hits this like long flurry of offense on Moxley and it culminates with him getting the stronghold on Mox. And like the crowd immediately bites. It's like you're gonna tap, you're gonna. That's his character right now. Like they were. [00:49:49] Speaker B: That's what you do. [00:49:51] Speaker A: You tapped out, you tapped out. [00:49:54] Speaker B: And he's not happy about it. Yeah. [00:49:59] Speaker A: So the finish, Orange Cassidy is legal again and he's going up against Mox. A swarm of Death Riders basically has to come out and cause like 15 distractions. Normally this would piss people off, but like I. Mox is like quote unquote in a weakened state. So yes, he does actually need all the Death Riders to come out, beat up Orange Cassidy for him. [00:50:26] Speaker D: So he, they're building up his weaknesses. [00:50:29] Speaker A: Love it. Claudio catches Orange in the, the pop up uppercut which is. Gives Moxley the opportunity to put the bully choke in. And oh Sheep goes out. Death Riders win. But that's not the end of the segment because what happens next, of course never is. Yeah, we get a big old Donny Brook. As the Death Riders attack the conglomeration and Conglomeration members come out for the save. And eventually Kyle O'Reilly hits the ring and just like beelines for Mox grabs him in that ankle lock and just will not let go. [00:51:07] Speaker B: He wants. Oh my God. [00:51:10] Speaker A: He's holding on. He's holding on. Daniel Garcia and Wheeler Yuter just like pounding him down. He like looks kind of just like ah, he might let go. No, he just locks sinks it in further other it's just he pitbull pitbull behavior. He's not letting go. [00:51:25] Speaker B: I've never seen this side of Kyle. I feel like and oh my God. [00:51:32] Speaker A: It'S been a while. [00:51:33] Speaker D: I love this Kyle. [00:51:34] Speaker A: This is awesome. The crowd is eating it up. [00:51:38] Speaker B: Like I don't know how. How long the estrogen takes to kick in but like this is that as the more attractive. I have found a man in a lot long time. Out for blood. Like I'm into it. [00:51:59] Speaker A: It's awesome. Mox eventually gets away and Kyle grabs a mic and he wants, he still wants Moxley at full gear and he wants it no hold barred. Yes, yes. Like and yeah, they, they go to commercial without an answer. So we, we'll find out later that yes, that is an official match made. Kyle O'Reilly versus Jon Moxley. Full gear, no holds barred. That's probably going to steal the show. [00:52:25] Speaker B: Yeah, I can't, I can't imagine it. [00:52:28] Speaker A: Doing anything, but I, I'm just so looking forward to this show now. All right, get a quick Brodido promo. They're keeping the tag titles even though FTR are attacking legends and their family and our legends themselves. Bro. Dido never stops fighting. Nope. Kenny has a promo that was not terribly thrilling. It was about how like, you know, the bucks are trying to buy family. He wants to kill Don Callis. Count your money. Goodbye. Good night, gang. Yeah, Lynn. Jack and his dinosaur are there. Kissy kissy hug. Ass pats all around. Oh boy. And then. Oh man, this I see. Like, I thought the matches tonight were all fantastic and I love this one as well. [00:53:23] Speaker B: Really. [00:53:24] Speaker A: And like I ran into the same problem as I did the last match where I was just like I am enraptured watching this. Like, I'm not taking notes. I'm so sorry. [00:53:34] Speaker B: It's okay. [00:53:36] Speaker A: It is the AEW Women's tag team title first round tournament match. The timeless Love Bombs Tony Storm and Mina Shirakawa versus Alex Windsor and Riho Love bombs look awesome in their gear. [00:53:52] Speaker B: In the new video. Entrance video. [00:53:55] Speaker A: Oh, yes. They got a new entrance video and theme. Oh, that's nice. [00:53:59] Speaker B: Good. So good. [00:54:03] Speaker D: Love the Blues Brothers. Not Blues Brothers Blue. The old WWF tag team. Blues Brothers style gear. [00:54:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:54:14] Speaker B: But they're doing like, like Neo noir detective, like popping their heads around the corner just like. God damn it. They're both just being amazing and adorable and in love. They're so in love. And it's wonderful. I love women. I love when women love women. [00:54:32] Speaker A: It's been a while since I've seen Alex Windsor. She looked good in this. Riho looked awesome. [00:54:42] Speaker D: I missed when Joshi ran the AEW division with Emmy and Rio and Shida and. [00:54:48] Speaker A: Ah, yeah. Seriously, that was so good. It was a great period. But you know, I, I will say I do like the Alex Windsor Riho team and I hope we see more of them because they. And they have a fun entrance pose as well. Like I said, I was. I was bad on note takings for this match. But like, they, they again, just like the previous tag match, they just went balls to the wall on it. It was a lot of fun. Yeah. [00:55:18] Speaker D: I have one big note that's like four lines on my page that is saying stops calling them quote unquote wives. They and is like three lines. [00:55:30] Speaker C: So that's where my brain was. [00:55:33] Speaker B: They. [00:55:35] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:55:38] Speaker B: Was like Excalibur was at one point was like her lover. I mean her, her wife by her words. Like just straight up. No quote unquote. By her words. I was like, okay, there you go. Damn right? And probably by her actions, they. [00:55:57] Speaker A: They definitely. [00:55:58] Speaker B: And Juice Robinson is just gonna have to deal with that. [00:56:03] Speaker D: He's. [00:56:03] Speaker A: He's. [00:56:03] Speaker D: He's got his. His bang gang bang. He's fine. [00:56:07] Speaker B: Yeah, he's too big. He's too busy bang ganging it up with the boys. Yeah. [00:56:11] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:56:11] Speaker A: I am not worried about Juice in the slightest. Like, I, I don't have like any spots. It was just like move after move. It was, yeah, like a really good tag team match. [00:56:23] Speaker D: Rio's Moodle lock was real good. [00:56:25] Speaker A: Oh, God. Yeah. That. She had a very good mood. A lock. Alex Windsor looked great. Getting all our power stuff in the double headbutt. [00:56:33] Speaker D: Breaking up the figure four was good. [00:56:36] Speaker A: Oh, God. Yes. The. I did think it was kind of weird that Tony and Mina did not necessarily sell the blood and guts from the previous week. Nearly as much, especially given how it ended specifically being the prime focus of the heel team. But still a great match. [00:57:00] Speaker D: They channeled it all into their rage for Megan Payne and Marina Shafir. So it's fine. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:05] Speaker D: And they played, they played air drums and air sacks when they left. So I'm good. I'm satisfied. [00:57:14] Speaker A: So the, the finish. The. The Love bombs get their opponents in the corner. They both crisscross in the ring and get their stereo hip attacks. Tony gets Storm zero on Alex Windsor and that's it. It was probably my favorite match at the tournament so far. [00:57:36] Speaker B: Yeah, it was pretty great. [00:57:37] Speaker A: Yeah, I really enjoyed the Babes of Wrath versus the All Gold team, but God damn. Oh yeah, this, this was, this was, this was the best. [00:57:49] Speaker B: I just want to say if for some reason I ever like it, like, you know, God forbid anything terrible happens and I need to be, you know, taken out back and put down. The way I would choose to go is the dual hip attack between Tony Storm and me to share Kawa. That's how I'd like to die. So just write that down. Save that. [00:58:14] Speaker D: Death by a thousand hip attacks. [00:58:16] Speaker A: Death by a thousand hip attacks. I would see, I would say, how do I want to die? I don't. Yeah, I'm just gonna live forever. [00:58:29] Speaker D: But I do want a wrestler to kill me for their street cred. Like if I get. If I get a terminal disease, I'm gonna go up to like my favorite tough guy wrestler and be like, no, kill me. [00:58:38] Speaker B: My head cracked like a walnut between Chris Statlander's shoulder blades. That seems fine. [00:58:47] Speaker A: I think I want Claudia to uppercut my neck off. [00:58:51] Speaker B: That would be a fun way to go too. [00:58:54] Speaker A: Yeah. Because like you just. [00:58:55] Speaker B: Just big swing me until I don't wake up. [00:58:59] Speaker A: Yes. Yes. Until my head pops off. Yes. So while. While the Love bombs are making their exit, Renee gets on the mic and is she mentions that the four semi final teams will wrestle at full gear in a 4 quarters tag match. And the winner gets to choose the stipulation for their semi final match. So. Okay, sure. Why not? Kind of like doing a reset. That's cool. Promo time with Alicia Attut and she's with Kyle Fletcher and Mark Briscoe and she wants to know why they agreed to the match with the higher stakes. And Fletcher just wants to gain the record for the most TNT title defenses in one reign. And he wants to. Wants Briscoe and the Don Callis family. He thinks he's going to thrive in the Don Callis family and Briscoe's Yeah. He will thrive with a real family. And says Briscoe fights every night for his real family and his road family, the conglomeration. And he's gonna pro. Oops. He was attacked by Okada and Hechi 0 and they beat him up because. [01:00:09] Speaker B: Okada did not make any sort of. Not aggression. [01:00:13] Speaker D: Yeah, I like, I like that workaround. [01:00:15] Speaker A: Yeah, he did not. [01:00:17] Speaker B: And when he had might he add. [01:00:26] Speaker A: But you know he's, he's very glad to be there to help out Kyle since Takeshita couldn't be there. And then he just goes makes like he grins is like Protocada and Kyle Fletcher looks pensive. So that is how we know this is a storyline thing is happening. [01:00:48] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, I predict that things are going to get really weird after my good, good chicken friend takes that belt off of his ass. [01:00:59] Speaker A: Things are going to get weird. All right. [01:01:01] Speaker B: That shit's gonna happen. Like that's gonna. They Tony again. You're still listening at this point. Put the belt on him. I swear to God, I swear to. I will find you and I will. Ring bell. Ring bell. Ring bell. Anyways. [01:01:20] Speaker A: All right, we get a dry pock promo. [01:01:22] Speaker D: I love Poc Pre tapes. [01:01:25] Speaker A: He's getting. He's challenging Darby Allen to a straight up match at full gear, no bells or whistles. And he thinks that without the death match stipulations Darby can't beat him and just like a one on one wrestling match. [01:01:43] Speaker B: Well, yeah, that's. No, I think that's true to be honest. But also I hate Darby Allen with a passion. So there's that. [01:01:51] Speaker A: There is also that. Yeah, I, I guess having Darby Russell Pac in a straight up match and beat him on pay per view is how they're going to make him look like a legit main eventer who like actually can win matches without. But you know. [01:02:08] Speaker B: No, no, no, no, you see that worked for Orange Cassidy because Orange Cassidy is good. You can't, you can't, you can't just do that to any old twink and have it work. Okay. [01:02:20] Speaker D: Like I'm, I'm hopeful Pac wins and then when Moxley loses to Kyle, Pac takes over the Death Riders. Oh, that's what I'm hoping. [01:02:33] Speaker A: That would be interesting. [01:02:34] Speaker D: But also I also desperately don't want to see Darby get good things so I could be deluding myself. But that's what I'm hoping. [01:02:45] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm, I, I put aside my personal opinion of Darby and just leave it at that. Like I was bored of his. [01:02:54] Speaker D: I also just don't like him as a performer. [01:02:58] Speaker A: He'S. I think he's good. He's a good performer, but, like, he's also done the same thing over and over again, and I need to see something different. [01:03:06] Speaker B: That's where I'm at. [01:03:07] Speaker A: Yeah, that's really what it came down. That's what it always came down to. Main event of Dynamite, Adam Page versus the Collision. [01:03:17] Speaker B: Dynamite. [01:03:19] Speaker A: Dynamite. Yes. Katsu Shabata. Samoa Joe is on commentary and he is not allowed to get involved or he loses his title shot. But that does not stop him from calling Tony Schiavone Piggy. But he's cordial with Bryan Danielson because. [01:03:36] Speaker B: Well, yeah, because Bryan Danielson poses a. [01:03:38] Speaker A: Threat. [01:03:42] Speaker B: As high as he might be on commentary. [01:03:44] Speaker D: He's still mad at Shivani for the trick. On Halloween dressed up as Shivani. [01:03:52] Speaker B: I know, but that doesn't mean he gets to use topical presidential insults to my good, good George Peach, Tony Siobhan. [01:04:02] Speaker A: No, I think he's just doing that because he's. That's how he talks. I don't think it has anything to do with Trump. [01:04:10] Speaker B: No, no, no, I don't. So I don't think so either. But my brain put it together because of, you know, who I am as a person. I thought was very, very funny. Other than that. No, it just. Just being a good heel. [01:04:26] Speaker A: My. My favorite part of this is like, it was the opening of the match is Hangman ambushes Shibata near Joe, which causes Joe to freak out because he's walking this very fine balance of chicken heel and also trying to have the swagger of. I am the killer Samoa Joe. I will kill you. Don't come near me. Calm down. Yeah, it's like he, He. It's. It's such a weird dynamic, but it's funny and I enjoy it. [01:05:05] Speaker D: And then is my favorite part of Hangman choking Shabata with his jacket. Next two of Trans Flags. That was just. [01:05:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:13] Speaker A: Yes. [01:05:14] Speaker D: Perfect. This is the future liberals want. [01:05:19] Speaker B: Yeah. My exact thought was. Is like, he knows what he's doing. He's like, hold on, let me take just a few more extended seconds to beat his ass in this frame specifically. [01:05:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:05:35] Speaker B: Like, thank you. That's my chance. [01:05:36] Speaker D: That's my chance. [01:05:40] Speaker A: Until he gives us reason to hate him otherwise. Hangman, I salute you. I'm not putting. I'm not. I'm not putting him on the pedestal because, you know, wrestler. But I. [01:05:51] Speaker B: Well, yeah, but until you up leaves his plants, that's my champ. That is the true America's ass. Yes. Fantastic. [01:06:00] Speaker A: This Was just. This is, this was kind of a cool little match. They go back and forth. 4th Shabata. Shabata is doing a Shabata stuff to Hangman and that's like really kind of what I wanted to see out of this match until we get towards the end and Shabbat is kind of like, oh, right, I'm a heel and begins genital based offense. I think again he. [01:06:27] Speaker D: No, I was just following just. I was listening to Samoa Joe do commentary and going, I have to add a new list to my dream commentary partners list and add Joe because like saying that Shabbat is an artist painting in violence. And then, and then he hits the low blow and says, no, no, that's not a low blow. He was just maintaining hand control. Oh, oh, Samoa Joe, I love you. [01:06:56] Speaker B: Speaking of painting and violence. Hey, Erica, what's Japanese with for Yam bag Jones? [01:07:06] Speaker A: Yag probably just Yam bag Jones. [01:07:10] Speaker B: Yeah, I know that's usually how that goes. I say, and I was gonna say, I know Jonesu. Anyways, it was worth it. It was worth it. [01:07:21] Speaker A: Just say Yam bag Joe. Joe on commentary when. After Shabbata. Stealing the shattered dreams is awesome. But like when he hit it, when he hit it, when he kicked, he kicked Hangman in the dick and balls. And then Joe goes, no, that was the inner leg. It was a very precise and scientific strike. [01:07:46] Speaker D: Yeah, that, that's what I aim for in my heel commentary. Just perfect illusion. [01:07:57] Speaker A: Gaslight that audience. It was a scientific strike. So we get to the come to the finish. Shibata is going for. Got the ankle lock in and Hangman pulls. This was actually so cool. Hangman pulls at Eddie Guerrero, slides his foot out of his cowboy boot. The boot pops up in the air. Hangman clock Shibata and then gets the, puts the boot back on and then buckshots him. And that is the end of the match and the end of Dynamite. Kind of a really cool little match. They, they left a lot. Yeah, there's, there's not a ton that. I mean I don't, I don't know how limited, not limited Shibata is these days. Honestly, like it feels like they're trying to not put him in epic long matches where he feels the need to shoot headbutt somebody anymore. But he's been doing, he's been doing his, his, he's been very good in aew. [01:09:00] Speaker D: Yeah, they had him do the, the pure title for a while and he was having some decent matches then. But I think even not injury wise, he is starting to get to the age where more multi man matches make sense. [01:09:15] Speaker A: He's. Yeah. And. But he's still Shabata. He still has enough. [01:09:18] Speaker D: Oh, absolutely. [01:09:20] Speaker A: And he works a style that is low impact enough right now. Like, you know, he could. He could wrestle a while. Kind of like the way Minoru Suzuki has into his 50s, his brain in his skull. [01:09:37] Speaker D: Take it out, wash it again, put it back. [01:09:40] Speaker A: Ice cream. Scoot. Look at me. [01:09:41] Speaker D: I'm fine. [01:09:44] Speaker A: The. The. The. We. We transition. Ha. To collision with Hangman still in the ring, where he proceeds to kick Shabata in the balls as payback. [01:09:59] Speaker B: Yep. [01:10:00] Speaker A: Gets grabs a mic, tells Samoa Joe. Look around him. And even though he's surrounded by thousands of fans and the commentary team, Joe is alone because Will Hobbs is in the hospital and Shabata has to go to the Dick Surgeon, which. [01:10:15] Speaker D: Yes. Congratulations, Shabata, on your transition. Thank you, Tony Khan, for funding these things. Really just applause all around. Glad he's going to the Dick surgeon. [01:10:28] Speaker A: So now. Yeah, now that that Trans Pride flag really makes sense. [01:10:32] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, exactly. That was. That was Shabbata's Trans Flag. He just handed it to a fan to hold on to. [01:10:40] Speaker A: Katsuyara Shabata transition to greatness. [01:10:44] Speaker D: Yes. [01:10:45] Speaker A: Wiener is gone. Remember what Paige did the last time he was locked in the steel cage with another man? It was pretty poor, I've got to say. He'll. If he has to do it Saturday. [01:10:58] Speaker C: He will do it again. [01:11:02] Speaker A: Good segment. I enjoyed it. Fun stuff. Trans Shabbata dick and balls. Yeah. Hello. [01:11:13] Speaker D: You missed it because. Yeah. Shabbat is going to the Dick Surgeon. [01:11:17] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, I forgot about that. [01:11:21] Speaker A: All right, a little quick FTR promo where they talk about how they formed 11 years ago and nine years ago they had a match that everybody loved and I don't remember which one that was. I guess it was against diy. [01:11:35] Speaker B: Okay. [01:11:36] Speaker D: That was a good one. [01:11:37] Speaker A: The point is people remember them and they will have a legacy that lasts long after them. And will anyone remember Brodito? Probably not. They're going to add to their legacy this weekend and their win, their title win this weekend will be what they hang their hats on. Top guys out. Yeah. [01:11:57] Speaker D: I'll be honest, if Stokely's not the one talking, I'm not really listening to them, so I missed a lot of that. I'm there for Stoke. [01:12:06] Speaker A: I am there for Stoke. Yeah. [01:12:09] Speaker B: Now I'm mostly there for Stokely. And one of these days I'm wondering if FTR Gun's gonna actually bring a gun. [01:12:16] Speaker A: I hope he does wrestling needs an actual murder? Actually, no, it doesn't. No. No. [01:12:24] Speaker D: Get out. Get out. Tommy Dreamer. [01:12:26] Speaker A: Get out. Yeah. Get behind me, Tommy Carlos Cologne's over in the wings. [01:12:34] Speaker B: Going like. I know. I know you're talking about. [01:12:37] Speaker A: All right, now we have the final match of the Women's World Tag Team title tournament opening round. Megan Bain and Marina Shafir versus Tayjay or Ty J. Timelo and Anna J. I really wish that Bane and Marina had a tag team name, but they don't. [01:12:57] Speaker B: They really don't. [01:12:58] Speaker D: Yeah. They were just thrown together again. [01:13:00] Speaker A: So I was. I was actually eating my lunch while watching this because it's the middle of the afternoon and so I don't really have notes on this. It was. I. My main note is I don't necessarily think Bane and Shafir have great chemistry as a tag team yet. I know it's only like. [01:13:23] Speaker D: Yeah. And Danielson, kind of, without criticizing them, like, was bringing up how. Oh, we don't know how they'll be as a tag team because, you know, you can be great individuals and not work as a tag team. And I'm sitting there thinking, God damn it. That. But they're going to go over. And TJ's been together forever and they're not. And it just bothers me that Danielson, like, like, is almost pointing out this, The. The wrongness of that. [01:13:50] Speaker B: Like, he can't help himself. [01:13:53] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:13:54] Speaker B: He's like, I know good wrestling. This is wrong. [01:13:58] Speaker A: Especially since he's been bringing it up the entire time, like the. The opening of the tournament. [01:14:04] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:14:05] Speaker A: Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata are fantastic singles wrestlers, but they lost to the established tag team, even though the established tag team is technically lower in the ranks on single side. Because tag team wrestling, like tag team. [01:14:21] Speaker D: Is a different monster. Yeah. [01:14:23] Speaker A: This was always something that I liked about like 2000s WWF was you would always have, like Monday Night Raw, you'd have the two guys that are feuding for the world title team up beat Edge and Christian, and then on Smackdown, Edge and Christian back. Because, yes, the, The. The mega stars can work together one night, but they are never, ever, ever going to have the chemistry of the established tag team. [01:14:53] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:14:54] Speaker B: And certainly not a veggie Christian. [01:14:57] Speaker A: And that's kind of been the story of this tournament so far, is the teams that team together win. The teams that are kind of thrown together have lost. Except this time. [01:15:08] Speaker D: Yeah, I. I'm starting to think Anna J's been dealing with an injury. She had a wristband or a wrist brace on And I looked up and she's like, had two matches in the last two months. And, like, then I started thinking about Tai J were like the original hardcore women's wrestlers in this company, and they weren't in blood and gut. And I just. I, I'm. I'm. I'm. I got my own little conspiracy theory that Anna J. Is injured and it changed the stories. [01:15:42] Speaker B: And they're just kind of rolling with it. [01:15:45] Speaker A: I do. I. I vaguely remember when Anna was feuding with Megan there. I think she did get hurt in one of those matches. Yeah, I know there was concern or something like that. It might have been, but yeah, it's. It's been unfortunate for her. Like, I was kind of. I was really excited when she came back from her bigger injury. [01:16:04] Speaker D: No, they'll be the. They'll be the face team that becomes like the third champions that, like, everyone is so excited to see them finally win it. [01:16:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. [01:16:14] Speaker A: I think so. [01:16:15] Speaker B: I love this for them already. [01:16:17] Speaker A: I don't have a ton of notes on this one. Again, like I said, I was eating and trying to watch at the same time. It. It just felt, compared. Especially compared to the. The previous tournament match tonight, like it felt very disjointed. [01:16:31] Speaker B: It was definitely the lesser of the two. [01:16:33] Speaker A: Yeah. Bane and Shafir don't really have that kind of chemistry like they have. They do some cool spots. Like they. The. The double. The spot where they had. They had the Tai Jay on the ropes and Bane was doing, like, the chest clubs and Shafir was doing the chest kicks. Made my boobs hurt. Watching that very, very painful looking like it might have been. I was just tired, but, like, I was just ultimately felt sour about the match. Yeah. [01:17:12] Speaker D: Yeah. It was just kind of there, like, not bad, but like, it was the. [01:17:18] Speaker B: Low point of the night for me. [01:17:20] Speaker D: Yeah. In. In. In. In a night that is, you know, higher ple. Lower pay per view level. It wasn't quite at the same level. Yeah. [01:17:34] Speaker B: We're talking in your house. [01:17:37] Speaker A: Yeah. This is an in your house, dark match kind of level. [01:17:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:17:44] Speaker A: Bane and Shafir win when Shafir gets the mother's milk and that's it. [01:17:50] Speaker B: Kisses. Gives her a little kiss on the forehead as she knocks her out with her bones. [01:17:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:17:54] Speaker B: I'm like, you know, again, this might fix me. [01:17:59] Speaker A: It's again, another thing where it's like, is this a move that is for the male gaze? No, this is for the lesbian gays. [01:18:07] Speaker B: Yeah. No, this is specifically a sapphic gaze with the sweet little kiss. [01:18:14] Speaker A: The segment is not a complete snooze as the timeless love bombs have a message for their next round opponents. Tony Storm says they're going to take their skulls for pearl necklaces at full gear and then pick the stipulation which seems superfluous after you have killed your opponents. What kind of match will they pick? Will it be a chicken coop match? Apartment wrestling. I like apartment wrestling. Taipei death. And then Tony says, John Moxley, when you see what we, we do with your little women, you will piss yourself with blood. Oh, just incredible. Incredible work. [01:18:58] Speaker B: Just on one. [01:19:00] Speaker D: Whatever Tony's making isn't enough. [01:19:04] Speaker B: Just truly, truly on fire. [01:19:06] Speaker A: Tony, you will piss yourself with blood. Just specific. I got. [01:19:14] Speaker B: Wait, wait. [01:19:17] Speaker A: I don't know. I don't know. [01:19:20] Speaker B: Like, what does that mean, girl? [01:19:23] Speaker A: I think so, I think so. Personally, I am looking forward to it. I, I get the weird feeling they're building to Jon Moxley versus Toni Storm now. Like if. Just do it, do it. Tony Storm versus John. Next little video package for Chris Stanlander and how she has a new focus as the champion and Mercedes Monet does not have that focus as a champ. And because she is just going after collecting trinkets. Focus on me, she says in her little ASMR pleasure. Yes. Her little ASMR porn thing. Juice Robinson and one of the ass boys are here. I don't know which one it is. There, there's a Austin. Thank you. [01:20:16] Speaker B: The unboy. [01:20:18] Speaker A: Yeah, the uninjured. The, the ass boy. That does not have a crack in him. [01:20:24] Speaker B: Thank you, thank you. I was trying to come up with that. [01:20:27] Speaker A: Okay, so there's the. At the. Was it the tailgate brawl? Tailgate fight orgy. Yeah, that's coming at the start of the show on Saturday. [01:20:42] Speaker B: Sports themed violence. [01:20:44] Speaker A: Sports themes violence. That's wrestling in general. It doesn't matter. Anyway, there's going to be a 200,000 dollar four way tag team match and the Bang Bang Gang is going to be there and they're going to earn the money. And Juice Robinson just starts spitting out a bunch of financial advice. [01:21:05] Speaker B: So good. [01:21:06] Speaker A: The ass boy is just like. And then we're gonna win the match. And like I think you're gonna get a fiduciary. He loves money and I love him. [01:21:19] Speaker B: I need him to have a show on msnbc. Like whatever. Jim Kramer is doing that. Juice Robinson. [01:21:26] Speaker A: Juice Robinson gives financial advice. [01:21:34] Speaker D: $200,000. [01:21:43] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [01:21:45] Speaker A: He doesn't need the soundboard. He can just make all those sound effects himself. [01:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [01:21:49] Speaker A: Absolutely. [01:21:51] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:21:52] Speaker B: I am the soundboard. [01:21:56] Speaker A: Yo, Soy soundboard. All right, speaking of Spanish, Double Jeopardy match. Mascara Dorada versus Kazuchka Okada. This is a double Jeopardy match, so if Dorada wins, he will get a title shot at Okada's unified title. And if Okada wins, then he earns the Don Callis family a shot at Dorada's CMLL trios title, which he holds as part of sky team with Neon and Mystical. So it's basically a double eliminator match. Okada looks sick as hell in his dark rainmaker robe. That's all. And they. They kind of talk about how this stems from. I think it was Wrestle Dream. They had that triple threat with Takeshita, something like that. [01:22:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:22:50] Speaker A: Building off of Dorada's performance with that, because a lot of people had not seen him until then, and now they're seeing him again. And Danielson's talking up the Continental Classic as well, because. Yes, that is right around the corner. [01:23:04] Speaker D: Next week. [01:23:05] Speaker A: Next week? [01:23:06] Speaker B: Wait, next week already? [01:23:08] Speaker D: Yeah, they're gonna announce the members early in the week, and then Wednesday is the first matches. Yeah. Dynamite. [01:23:17] Speaker B: My body is ready. Let's go. [01:23:20] Speaker D: Yeah. I'm gonna be at World's End, where they're gonna have the semis and finals. [01:23:27] Speaker A: Oh, my God. [01:23:28] Speaker C: And I realized it. [01:23:30] Speaker D: I realized it during this match. I was like, wait, wait. We're gonna be at the Wait. And I am very excited. [01:23:41] Speaker B: I'm so Jo. Where is World's End this year? [01:23:44] Speaker D: Hoffman Estate, Chicago. [01:23:46] Speaker B: Oh, my God. That's not far, huh? [01:23:50] Speaker A: No. [01:23:51] Speaker D: Yeah, it's. It's gonna be good. [01:23:54] Speaker A: It's gonna be good. [01:23:55] Speaker B: Everybody listening. Everybody listening to this show right now. I. Sickos, I love you. You're all the best. I need you all to, like, subscribe and comment wherever you listen to your podcast. Tell everybody about this podcast. Send them to patreon.com podcast and tell them to give me your money so I can go to World's End and see that happen. That would be amazing. I think we should do that. [01:24:22] Speaker D: You have a place to stay? I'm already driving, so. [01:24:26] Speaker A: Oh. [01:24:29] Speaker B: Family I haven't talked to in 10 years. Let's go. [01:24:32] Speaker A: Well. [01:24:35] Speaker D: We don't have room in our. We're. We. I actually. I don't know how I was able to. Able to afford it. I was able to get us a hotel for this day, but there's no extra room, so if you. [01:24:48] Speaker B: If. [01:24:49] Speaker D: If you're able to. I. You got a ride already. [01:24:53] Speaker B: I was mostly joking, but now we'll talk about this off the pod. [01:25:00] Speaker A: I'm just I. I'll just throw out. I need to get off my ass on the 30th, November 30th and go get. Get my tickets for Russell Kingdom because that's when the extra ones go on sale and I'm not missing Wrestle Kingdom. [01:25:13] Speaker B: Damn right. Like you have. You're already there. You have no excuse. [01:25:18] Speaker A: I have no excuse. If I don't do that, I'll go see DDT on Christmas anyway. [01:25:23] Speaker D: That's awesome. [01:25:24] Speaker A: What is what. What happened in this match? Well, lots of things. Like they. They really spend a lot of time talking up that about Okada's history starting in Mexico and Toriamont Danielson drops lore that I did not realize that Daniel that Okada wrestle Okada's debut or Danielson was there for Okada's like first ever wrestling match, which was interesting commentary. [01:25:50] Speaker B: I didn't catch that, but wow. [01:25:52] Speaker A: Yeah. 2004 he said he's an old goat. [01:25:55] Speaker B: He's an old goat. I forget that. I forget he's an old goat. [01:26:00] Speaker A: It seems like Dorada is not quite on the top of his game tonight. He does kind of like have a few hiccups on a few of his moves, but he recovers pretty well each time and Okada knows how to cover for him. [01:26:15] Speaker B: Anytime I get Luciana Wednesday, I'm just tickle pink. [01:26:20] Speaker A: Yeah, there's. There's this whole. There's this whole sequence where Okada goes out of the ring and he's like, like teasing coming back in and then teasing going out and like it gets the whole crowd standing up chanting at him. The crowd was on Okada the whole night like they were giving him Tanahashi chance and to catch the chance. But he, he does. Yeah, he. He does his. His solid heel Okada stuff. Through the whole thing, he has earned. [01:26:51] Speaker B: Every bit of hate. That's what I love about it. [01:26:56] Speaker A: He's. He does so well with this heel character. Like once he gets control, he's. He's much like it's not Rainmaker Okada. It's like methodical heel dick bag Okada and he's having so much fun. Dorado almost gets a comeback but eats complete off of 450. Everybody sort of acted like, oh no, he botched it. But I'm almost positive that he. He crash landed and made it look like he landed on his neck and shoulder on purpose. He does eventually actually get the 450. It's good. Like the match itself is good. It's not. I don't think it's quite having the same Impact. Dorad is not having the same impact that he had at the. In the Triple Threat. [01:27:43] Speaker D: Yeah. And people are tired by this point. Three hours is a long time. [01:27:48] Speaker A: That is the other thing. [01:27:51] Speaker B: I know. I was exhausted. [01:27:53] Speaker A: Yeah, I was. I mean, it was. Like I said, it was one in the afternoon, and I was already getting like, all right, finish. Okay. It just says, all right, I've had enough grabs. Dorado hits, steals the raging fire from Takeshita Rainmaker, and that's it. Nobody gets up. So he has earned a trio's title shot for the Don Callis family, which. Oh, yeah, Don was on commentary this whole time. So, yeah, he grabs the mic afterwards and he says, they'll be challenging Sky Team at the Tailgate Brawl. And the Don Kat's family will be represented by Hechisero Okada and my spouse, Karosuke Takashita. And I am just like. I'm just, like, sitting here like, how. When are we getting the match? And I'm guessing we're getting. I'm guessing it's gonna be a world end. It's got to be world's end. [01:28:57] Speaker D: I'm. I'm thinking it's them at the end of the Continental Classic. [01:29:01] Speaker A: It's gotta be. [01:29:04] Speaker D: And I'm. I'm very excited. I did have a small. Like, while watching this, I was thinking, well, yeah, who else in the Don Kyle Cal's family would even be in that match? And then I realized we've had a lot of Don Cal segments. Where's Trent? Hashtag, Where's Trent is back. [01:29:20] Speaker A: Where is he? [01:29:21] Speaker C: Disappeared. [01:29:24] Speaker D: He's got a match on Saturday. [01:29:27] Speaker A: He does? [01:29:28] Speaker D: No, it's him and Rocky Romero versus QT Marshall and Big Boom aj. [01:29:35] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. So. [01:29:38] Speaker A: Oh, yes. Okay, sure. Yeah. Quick Sisters of Sin promo. They talk about the Four Corners match. They kind of do like, a little spoof on the, you know, seven deadly sins of the Babes of Wrath. And then Te shows up and says they're going to find out how toxic they can get. That's it. Not a whole lot to talk about. Chris Statlander is here, and she's joining the comms for the main event, which was. The main event is for the undisputed Ring of Honor Women's Televisions Championship, as Mercedes has the interim title and Red Velvet is the. What would the term for it be? The actual champion. [01:30:30] Speaker D: Yeah, the. [01:30:31] Speaker A: The linear. The linear champion. So this is Red Velvet's. I think this is her first match back, Period. [01:30:39] Speaker C: Yep. [01:30:40] Speaker D: Yeah. First match back from injury. [01:30:43] Speaker A: She looked great. [01:30:44] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:30:45] Speaker B: Yeah. There was a Hell of a match too. Like, this was like she. I haven't seen her in a while and like, I don't ever remember her looking this good in the ring. [01:30:55] Speaker A: Ring of Honor did wonders for her. And she's gotten like, like she's gotten her character down perfect. I think so. Yeah. Mercedes has her belt boys. I still think she needs two belt boys per belt. This is just. She's still got like. I guess they're saving money for the budget for Brass Monkey or whatever. [01:31:15] Speaker D: Get some more indie guys, some paydays. [01:31:17] Speaker A: Yeah. And make sure they're hot looking. Thank you. [01:31:22] Speaker B: Yeah. We demand or void. [01:31:25] Speaker C: I mean they're wrestling, so that's easy. [01:31:26] Speaker D: Easy. [01:31:28] Speaker A: So I had forgotten we were in Boston, but we're in Boston, so this is heavy Mercedes Monet territory. As lots of CEO, it's a good back and forth. Like, like, like we were saying red velvet. If, if you don't watch Ring of Honor regularly, you would probably be surprised by like how far she's come. But like, she not just looks good. She looked good for somebody having her first match back since June. [01:31:58] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:31:59] Speaker A: And she's in great shape as well. She is hitting all her moves. The crowd is just not on her side tonight. But I think they were, they were popping pretty well. Yeah, you were enjoying it. [01:32:11] Speaker D: Just clearly on Mercedes side. [01:32:14] Speaker A: Clearly on Mercedes side. Then Statlander on commentary seemed a little bit lost at times, but she did have a good line about how Newark is not her backyard. It's her neighbor's patio. [01:32:31] Speaker D: Yeah, that was good. And there was some stuff. She talked a bit more. I have the Triller feed. So like I get the. In the commentary during commercial breaks. And she had this great part where she was just like, hey, Tony, you and I are wearing the same shoes. Shoes. And Brian's wearing those shoes. You should join our text chain. And Bryan Danielson. No. Sells it and just goes, I don't text people. And it was just so good. He's like, how dare you? How dare you suggest I talk to anyone outside of personal one on in person contact. How dare you? [01:33:11] Speaker A: Yeah, he sounded so deep. Leaf is like, I don't text. I mean, she was, she wasn't bad, but like it did feel like she was lost a little bit. [01:33:23] Speaker D: She's always had an awkward talking style that I would get more into if I was the type of person who diagnosed neurodivergence in people I've never met. But I don't do that. So I won't. [01:33:36] Speaker A: Yes, that is, that is a good policy. And like Credit where it's due. Statlander has come a long way on her promos. Oh, yeah. [01:33:48] Speaker B: She had a rough time. [01:33:51] Speaker D: She just has, like, her own cadence. [01:33:54] Speaker A: I would also humbly suggest that she was just enjoying the match. [01:33:58] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:33:59] Speaker A: Which is, I think, something that, that we don't take into account enough, that sometimes you have somebody out for guest commentary and they're just like, like, holy, this is rules. Oh, right. I'm supposed to be plugging my match on Saturday. [01:34:15] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:34:18] Speaker B: Yeah. No, that's what it felt like. It didn't feel like it was bad so much as she's kept getting lost and forgetting she was there to do specific things because she was too busy watching the graphs. And it's like, I get it. I, I get it. Yeah. I would have the same problem again. [01:34:36] Speaker A: Like, Red Velvet looked really good. She actually got a pretty decent Eddie Guerrero spot in there where she, she faked that Monet hit her with the, the belt. It didn't really work that well. Like, I don't think anybody bought it, but I thought she did a good job. [01:34:55] Speaker D: Mercedes Monet, she. [01:34:56] Speaker A: That, That's. Come on, that's her. [01:34:59] Speaker B: She lies, she cheats, she steals. [01:35:02] Speaker A: She invented stealing Eddie's stuff. Yeah. [01:35:07] Speaker B: She was stealing any stuff before Dom was even in his spandex. [01:35:15] Speaker A: But credit, Credit development. She did take a good bump on the non belt shot. [01:35:21] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. Red Velvet died on the apron. And that's. I want to make a joke out of that. There's some sort of joke there. I'm just, I'm missing it. Like, the, I can see the dots connect, but I can't see the joke in there. [01:35:37] Speaker B: Well, you know what the best you can do? Throw it on a podcast. Someone will get it. [01:35:42] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. [01:35:44] Speaker B: It's important to do that every once in a while to connect your dots with the bits. [01:35:50] Speaker D: This has been three hours. You know, you, you make your own jokes. I'll give you the ingredients. You go make it. [01:35:56] Speaker B: Yeah. To connect the dots with. [01:35:58] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. The show. It's like, have we been talking that long? We have been talking a long time. [01:36:06] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:36:06] Speaker A: That show. Anyway, like I said, like, I, I, I couldn't get over how good Red Velvet's offense looked. She hit that top rope cazadora that just like, I thought she killed Monet with it. [01:36:19] Speaker B: It. [01:36:19] Speaker A: I wish that had been the finish, but it was not. She, I don't know what she was going for on the top rope, but Mercedes turned it into a top rope lung blower and that. [01:36:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:36:30] Speaker D: Stone lung blower off the top Just. [01:36:33] Speaker B: That was nasty. [01:36:36] Speaker A: Like you said, chef's kiss, brilliant. I'm glad that actually finished the match. Yeah. [01:36:42] Speaker D: Shortly before that, one of my favorite. They were trading, like, submission and. And like, they were. They were like missing each other's hand and, like batting at each other. And Excalibur just goes, oh, they're. They're hand fighting. And I'm sitting there going, no, you. That. [01:36:57] Speaker A: Don't. [01:36:57] Speaker D: Don't try to sell it. Hand fighting and fighting. [01:37:03] Speaker A: He's trying. He was trying. I'll give him credit. He was trying. I mean, great, great stuff. Like, like, again, like, I apologize. My note takes making towards the end was like this. This happened last time I was on a three hour episode. It was just like, by the third hour, just like, I am. I'm. I'm lost. [01:37:23] Speaker B: This isn't your fault. This is too much television for a weekday show. It just is. We've done the. We've done the science at this point. [01:37:33] Speaker D: Yeah. At some point, when you're watching a three hour Aw show and taking notes. [01:37:38] Speaker B: Notes. [01:37:39] Speaker D: You're just gonna write, I get it already. You're all good at wrestling. [01:37:43] Speaker B: Okay, I get it. [01:37:45] Speaker D: I get it. [01:37:46] Speaker A: Okay, good. Okay. [01:37:48] Speaker D: You're good. [01:37:49] Speaker A: Yes. [01:37:49] Speaker B: I love this. I'm a sicko. Yes. Thank you. [01:37:53] Speaker D: I don't want to write it down anymore. It's just good. I don't know. It's good. [01:37:57] Speaker A: Moves, moves. Spot, spot, spot. Sexual innuendo on commentary. Come on. [01:38:06] Speaker B: Everyone giggles. It's real good. Yeah. [01:38:12] Speaker A: Yeah. Good, good stuff. All right, so then after the match, Statlander and Monet have a little brawl. Mercedes gets the open upper hand and poses with the aw. Women's world title as they go off the air. But I think stat might have won in the end by she. She was carrying off Red velvet. All superhero like she is. [01:38:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:38:36] Speaker D: Red velvet one. [01:38:38] Speaker A: Red velvet, yeah. [01:38:39] Speaker B: Red velvet one there. Yeah. [01:38:42] Speaker A: I would like to be carried by Chris Statlander. [01:38:45] Speaker B: Carry me to safety. Statlander. Yeah. Carry me to safety. [01:38:50] Speaker A: It's good. Good show. It's a long show, but it's prognostic. [01:38:57] Speaker B: Prognosis good. Good show. [01:39:00] Speaker A: Prognosis good. I am out of things to say about it. [01:39:04] Speaker B: I think, like wrestling good. [01:39:08] Speaker A: Wrestling good. I have no idea when, if or when I'm going to get to watch full gear, but fire bad. [01:39:17] Speaker B: Sorry, I saw. I saw Frankenstein last week, so. Fire bad. Wrestling good. [01:39:26] Speaker D: Now I'm gonna have to talk to you about Frankenstein for two hours. [01:39:30] Speaker B: That's a different podcast again. Patreon.comffpod yeah, give us if you give me enough money to live, I will make all the podcasts. [01:39:42] Speaker A: Yes. [01:39:43] Speaker B: You could just be like, this is the podcast I want. And then I'll be like, that's cool. I got money to live. I'll make podcasts. [01:39:49] Speaker A: That's what I do. [01:39:54] Speaker B: I'll make a podcast. [01:39:57] Speaker A: All right. So. [01:39:59] Speaker B: So. [01:39:59] Speaker A: All right. So any. Any final thoughts on the. The episode? [01:40:04] Speaker B: My body is ready for full gear, and I don't know how quickly I'm gonna be able to get home from my shitty job to get into Discord to watch it, but I'm gonna find a way to find a way. [01:40:20] Speaker A: Oh, we're gonna watch it in Discord. [01:40:22] Speaker B: I am. I mean, we can talk about that off Mike. I don't know. [01:40:30] Speaker D: Know what you're talking about. [01:40:32] Speaker A: Cool. [01:40:34] Speaker B: Anyways, see y' all after full gear. That will be not streamed legally in any way. [01:40:42] Speaker D: Yeah, I don't have a VPN in a. In a streaming thing, and it's only 20 bucks per play. I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't already previously mention I watched the trailer feed? [01:40:52] Speaker A: What? [01:40:53] Speaker B: No, no, no. [01:40:55] Speaker A: So. [01:40:55] Speaker B: So we're just gonna say goodbye. I'm gonna kick this fed bear recorder out of here and. [01:41:02] Speaker A: Yeah, well, wait, Topanga, do you have anything you want to plug? Because I know you have other stuff or do you have other stuff? [01:41:09] Speaker D: I mean, I've just been making some podcast rounds. I was on the latest Wrestling with Pride with trans referee Jaina Pride. More of an interviewee podcast. Talking about my history. History with wrestling and coming out and the combination of the two. It was really cool. Otherwise, I'm still looking for more commentary. [01:41:30] Speaker A: Gigs, depending on your wrestling. [01:41:34] Speaker B: I should probably tell people. Listen to the other show that I work on. I work on a few, but one, that's the one that I actually, like, produce and help write on and. And is one of the flagships of the eventual network. The most important election of our lives with Kennedy T. Cooper and Andrew Field, statistician and various guests bring fandom things and special interests, and we take those special interests and we put them into hypothetical situations with political figures. So think like Goku versus Reagan for governor in California. Things of that nature. Oh, gosh. [01:42:22] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:42:22] Speaker B: Well, don't blame me. [01:42:23] Speaker D: Goku would be cool with the Black Panthers. He just want to see how strong they are. [01:42:26] Speaker B: Yeah, don't. Don't blame me. I voted for Krillin. [01:42:30] Speaker D: He's a cop. [01:42:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:42:35] Speaker A: Yeah, he. [01:42:36] Speaker B: Exactly. Who else could better reform the police department? Oh, God, if I ever see those words, God's been kidnapped, I've been kidnapped. But yeah, check that show out. It's it. The last episode of the first season just came out today. But I am lucky enough to edit a show called Here Comes Tomorrow featuring Becca Petunia of Tough Pigs fame and Josephine Reisman of Badass fame. New York Times best selling badass. Josephine Reisman talking about non binary author and former hardcore special interest of mine, Grant Morrison's run on the new X Men, which is extremely queer. Just, just silly amounts of queer and problematic and all the things you'd expect from an X Men comic book that came out during 911. So that's the thing I've been getting to work on and it's awesome. Go check that out. There's 14 episodes now and it will be back in the the new year. So yeah, that's a little update on things Ella does outside of breaking her back in the chicken minds, getting protein for the clones. That's neither here nor there. Anyone else? Erica, do you want to sign off in some way? [01:43:56] Speaker A: Oh, we'll sign off as we always sign off with. Happy wrestling, everyone. [01:44:04] Speaker B: Happy wrestling. [01:44:06] Speaker A: Happy wrestling. Keep it sleazy and hopefully this will be. This will be here at Spelulator Alligator after while, crocodile. [01:44:21] Speaker B: Jeff, we miss you. Jeff. Jeff, please come back. Jeff. Jesus God. [01:44:47] Speaker A: What the was that? Oh, Jeff, come back. Jeff, come back. Jeff, come back. I'm the chopped huzz. I produced the whole show. No, Piper, come back. Unbelievable. Whatever. I hope y' all enjoyed the podcast or whatever. See you next week.
