[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void.
But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling.
And with that, there was Monday, and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages.
On the second day, God got depressed, and lo, did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday.
On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her.
We know what that means.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: And welcome back to Wednesday Night Fake Fights, where we talk all things AEW.
This week we are in Greensboro, North Carolina, for Blood and Guts, AEW's take on the whole War Games, double cage, double reign concept.
And we got a little bit of change of lineup today. Ella is busy elsewhere and Erica is busy being abroad. Abroad. But we've got one stalwart and one new face. And as always, I'm one of your co hosts, Jeff the Tokimon Goose. Why don't you all introduce yourselves?
[00:01:29] Speaker A: I am Piper Willow. Not very bloody, but very gutsy. And we have, I think, our first special guest for Wednesday Night Fake Fights.
[00:01:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:41] Speaker C: I am the effervescent, always pleasant Topanga Rainbows.
[00:01:47] Speaker A: Fantastic.
[00:01:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Taglines. I like that.
[00:01:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:01:51] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's for sure.
[00:01:56] Speaker B: Let's say, have you done Monday Night Fake Fights, Topanga?
[00:01:59] Speaker C: I was the first guest on Monday Night Fake Fight.
[00:02:03] Speaker B: You're the OG then.
[00:02:03] Speaker C: That's one.
And I did a second episode, too.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: You're the second mother of us.
[00:02:13] Speaker C: I'm. I'm too young to have kids.
[00:02:17] Speaker B: That's a threat. Dig it out.
[00:02:19] Speaker A: Yes, I will. I will refer to her and her alone as the podcast matron.
[00:02:25] Speaker B: There we go.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: But yes, big Blood and Guts episode of Dynamite this week that I don't think we need to waste any time to get into because, yeah, we got notes upon notes. What a show. My goodness.
[00:02:40] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[00:02:42] Speaker B: There's a lot here.
[00:02:43] Speaker A: Yeah, there is a lot. Opens with the first ever women's Blood and guts match.
[00:02:50] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:02:52] Speaker A: Probably should have closed the show, but I digress, you know, but I. I.
[00:02:55] Speaker B: Saw people talking about that. And one thing with on tv, like AE Dynamite episodes, the most viewership tends to be at the start of the show. Like, consistently, if you look at the ratings, they go downhill from start to end. And so, you know, just time and all that kind of stuff. So it actually, it's the. Symbolically, the main event is, you know, the good. Would have been nice to have at the end, but it was. They gave it the spot that would have the most on it.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Okay, that's, that's good. And they deserve that because that was quite the show that they put on.
[00:03:27] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[00:03:29] Speaker B: August.
[00:03:29] Speaker A: Yes, it was. Mercedes Monet, Megan Bane, Marina Shafir, Tecla, Sky Blue and Julia Hart versus Chris Statlander, Tony Storm, Willow Nightingale, Mina Shirakawa, Jamie Hayter and Harley Cameron.
6v6 to kick.
[00:03:48] Speaker B: This is the first 6v6 I think too. I think it's always been 5 verse 5 and the other ones.
[00:03:55] Speaker C: I'm.
I'm not 100 sure.
[00:03:59] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't even know if I've watched all of them.
[00:04:02] Speaker A: Might have been one or two others.
[00:04:03] Speaker B: But I also always get it mixed up with like anarchy in the arena and all their other like huge multi man car.
[00:04:09] Speaker C: Right.
[00:04:09] Speaker B: Matches.
[00:04:10] Speaker A: Yeah. Those, those tend to blend together. But this, this one is distinct, iconic and first of its kind, absolute woman. Which, which is awesome.
[00:04:20] Speaker B: Hell yeah.
[00:04:21] Speaker A: Sky Blue and Willow Nightingale started out. Willow is like, you can tell just how excited she is coming to the ring, like to be a part of this match.
[00:04:31] Speaker B: Sky Blue too though, is just grinning like. Yeah, very much. Is in her element.
[00:04:36] Speaker C: I, I've met three of the women who are in this match.
One of them talked to me about how much they wanted to do a match like this and it was Sky Blue.
[00:04:48] Speaker B: It's we've talked about before, but she's really like proven herself as like one of the death match stalwarts of the company. Yeah, she's good in regular matches. She's definitely, she's solid. But when for some reason you take weapons into it and she just kicks up to like a whole nother level.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: Yeah. And she did just that here in this match.
Did not quite get the opening offense. Willow Nightingale managed to, to kind of start it off strong. They start off fighting like in the middle in between the rings, which is a fun use of the space.
[00:05:25] Speaker B: I always like that.
[00:05:26] Speaker A: It's a big like hair swing, slingshot power bomb off the ropes into the cage.
[00:05:31] Speaker B: That was a spicy that alu.
[00:05:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
Which somewhere in there sky gets busted open pretty quickly and it was fast.
[00:05:43] Speaker C: She.
[00:05:44] Speaker A: She was bleeding.
[00:05:46] Speaker B: It's a gusher.
[00:05:48] Speaker A: Yeah. No better way to describe it than I got you.
[00:05:51] Speaker B: Like, you know how we always. We like in the chat for the show, we always pitch like pitch a bunch of images to be the image of the week for the like image of the. Yeah. I have so many that are not going to work, like a bunch saved that just have so much blood on the faces. There's no way it's not going to be blocked on blue sky.
[00:06:09] Speaker A: Yeah, that is gonna be a problem. Is like.
[00:06:12] Speaker B: Like a fully saved and like three of them are possible.
[00:06:15] Speaker A: Yeah, that's.
[00:06:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:17] Speaker C: I've already seen some of the pictures on blue sky marked as self harm, which not it.
[00:06:24] Speaker B: Not at all.
[00:06:25] Speaker C: But you do you Blue sky.
[00:06:27] Speaker B: Understandable moderation. I had blue sky mark self harm when I took a pict. A cat. A scratch my cat gave me on my arm before.
[00:06:37] Speaker A: Yeah. So no way we were going to avoid that with. With the looks some folks had in this pay per view. But Julia Hart does come out next to help her tag team partner out. They managed to get control over Willow Nightingale. They, like, are like searching the turn.
[00:06:57] Speaker B: This was weird.
[00:06:59] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:06:59] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:07:01] Speaker B: There was supposed to be like a screwdriver or something that was supposed to be in them and they do it just for. Even Excalibur makes a note of that. But they move on quickly. So maybe just something got botched up there.
Yep.
[00:07:12] Speaker A: Yeah.
So they were unable to find whatever it was they looking. Looking for.
[00:07:18] Speaker B: Still haven't found what they're looking for.
[00:07:19] Speaker C: Yeah, whatever it was, they didn't need it.
[00:07:22] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, there's. There's plenty of other stuff in the match.
I think there's a one point, like, pretty early on as well where like, sky blue, like, stares into the camera and just yells, this is my match.
[00:07:36] Speaker B: Yeah, that was sick.
[00:07:37] Speaker A: Which was awesome.
[00:07:39] Speaker B: And inner element.
[00:07:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Honestly. Next up for the faces comes Harley Cameron, who comes into the ring and immediately whips a chair at sky blue in the face.
[00:07:53] Speaker B: She picked her right in the face.
[00:07:55] Speaker A: Everybody, everybody tonight has, like, their. Their item of choice that they come out with.
[00:08:00] Speaker B: Yeah, almost everybody.
[00:08:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Always funny to see, like, what.
What they do with them because, like, there's always, like a spot in mind that they'll come out and like, all right, I'm gonna immediately do this.
[00:08:10] Speaker B: Didn't sky blue had a kendo stick wrapped in barbed wire? Yeah, that was thick.
[00:08:16] Speaker A: Kendo stick grabbed and barbed wire. I think Willow had a trash can lid.
[00:08:22] Speaker B: The smiley face painted on the.
[00:08:24] Speaker C: Great.
[00:08:24] Speaker B: Yeah, the graffiti. I did like to. At one point, like, right around here, Tony Shivani goes Sky blue looks like a zombie.
[00:08:33] Speaker A: He did.
[00:08:36] Speaker B: I mean, yeah, she was absolutely gushing.
[00:08:39] Speaker A: Yeah, that was.
That was gnarly. There's a cool, like, double tree of woe, like drop kick cannonball spot that the faces do to. To take control back.
Unfortunately, that does not last as the heels wouldn't win it back from them. And tecla comes out and the heels continue to have the advantage.
[00:08:59] Speaker B: She looks fucking sick too.
[00:09:01] Speaker A: She looked so fucking cool.
[00:09:03] Speaker B: Yeah, like, that was the all white, which is always the best thing for death matches.
[00:09:08] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, they all dress perfectly.
[00:09:12] Speaker A: Yes, they. They all showed up in the right attire for.
For this match. I was a little disappointed later on in the men's that, like, everybody was just in normal gear, but yeah, they're just wearing.
[00:09:26] Speaker C: Yeah, they already knew they. They weren't gonna have match of the night, so they weren't gonna go all out.
[00:09:33] Speaker A: Yeah, pretty much.
Tekla comes out and she has, like, a belt wrapped around her shoe that she pulls off and starts whipping.
[00:09:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:09:43] Speaker A: Everybody with.
[00:09:44] Speaker B: I don't know why I had to be obfuscated. You can just. You could warn a belt, right? That's.
She's. She's Austrian. That's what they do over there.
[00:09:53] Speaker A: Yeah, it was the style at the time.
Pretty soon after Jamie comes out, the pacing got a little weird here, I think, because commercial break stuff.
[00:10:04] Speaker B: And also, like, at the start of it, she had a. She had a bag of tax that she, like, accidentally blew open all over. Like, clearly it was supposed to happen.
[00:10:15] Speaker C: Yeah, she used the bag as a weapon and. And hit Tekla in the gut with it and it just exploded and it's.
[00:10:23] Speaker B: Like burst on, like, the side of the ring, like.
[00:10:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:10:26] Speaker B: I wonder if they had to, like, recover from that.
[00:10:29] Speaker A: Yeah, I don't think they. The text, like, commentary made a good.
Did a good job of making mention of them anytime they were kind of in that general area. But, like, they did not come into effect, I think, quite as much as they had. They had hoped.
[00:10:45] Speaker B: Yeah, there's no, like, moment where, you know, they get in the middle of the ring and they hold up the bag and, like, dramatically pour it so everyone can see it. And then they do, like, a big spin on to it, though.
[00:10:54] Speaker A: The. It was a. It was a great effect to see them just blow up everywhere.
[00:10:58] Speaker B: Yeah, that was neat. Yeah.
[00:11:00] Speaker A: Jamie again comes out with. With that bag. She takes control, manages to get the barbed wire kendo stick and beats the heels up. With that, Megan Bane comes out, who's the heater for the heels in this match.
[00:11:18] Speaker B: She cleans out Penelope with her too.
[00:11:20] Speaker A: Penelope comes out with a golden folding chair. That's awesome.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: I still. We mentioned before, I love Penelope's just in full wrestling gear with a slag on.
[00:11:30] Speaker A: Yeah, full wrestling gear, wings and all. Like, looks awesome and at least is still showing up on tv.
[00:11:37] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:11:37] Speaker A: You get the. The big, heavy Bane And. Or no, it was Hater and Bane, like, face off a little bit. And then Bane and Harley face off, and eventually I forget what. What does Harley do to, like, warrant a you up chant?
[00:11:54] Speaker B: She hits her with the trash can lid, like, and it just bounces off of her. Yeah.
Mega Bay just turns around like, okay.
[00:12:03] Speaker A: Then Kris Statlander comes out with the belt wrapped around her waist and immediately runs into the ring, which I thought was, like, awesome. It's just like, okay. That's her weapon of choice is.
[00:12:13] Speaker C: Yeah, that.
[00:12:13] Speaker B: But she had the pool cue, too.
[00:12:15] Speaker A: Yeah, she had pool cue as well. Comes in, immediately cracks it across the back of Megan Bain.
[00:12:22] Speaker B: It broke like a move, like an action movie scene. It was literally snapped so perfectly.
[00:12:28] Speaker A: Queen Aminata and Penelope Ford are, like, kind of both injured but yelling at each other and, like, move each other to the back so they at least got a quick little spot in the match.
[00:12:40] Speaker B: Yeah, it's the two ladies that got kind of screwed out of being in there. I'm glad they were at least on some tv.
I know. Was it around this time, like, where Jamie Hayter is in the corner and she has a trash can lid on her face and Megan Bain throws the fucking chair into the trash can lid on her face.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: I. I think. I think it was like that.
[00:12:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: I thought Jamie apparently, like, lost some teeth in this match, and I'm wondering if that's where it happened.
Might have lost a tooth also, because she was.
[00:13:08] Speaker A: She was out for a little bit after this.
Kind of, like, off to the side.
Statlander and Willow kind of, like, are feeling each other out. Like, yeah, we're on the same team, but, like, are we cool? Are we not cool? But unfortunately, Megan Bay manages to take advantage of that and lay them both out.
She goes for a. A power bomb on Harley Cambren, who, like, climbs up the cage to get out of the power bomb predicament. We get a shot of the belt, boys, as Mercedes Monet comes out for the heels, which was glad to see them.
[00:13:42] Speaker B: Yeah. One of them I recognized as Manny Lowe from the now defunct Deadlock Pro Wrestling, who went out of North Carolina. Good to see local people getting work.
[00:13:51] Speaker A: Hey. All right.
[00:13:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:54] Speaker A: So Mercedes comes out, stat, like, lays the belt down, and there's like, a tornado DDT onto the belt.
[00:14:02] Speaker B: Yeah, that looks really good. Like, stat planted her right in the middle of it.
[00:14:07] Speaker A: Then Mercedes goes back outside and starts carrying a bunch of the belts in and just throwing them at her teammates. Like, here, here's a weapon for you. Here. Here's A weapon for you, which I thought was. Was just a brilliant touch to put all those to good use.
[00:14:24] Speaker B: I think it was Julia Hart College just like looked at the camera, gave like a little fucking Jim from the office shrug. Like. All right.
[00:14:35] Speaker A: Up next, Mina comes out with the barbed wire baseball bat.
[00:14:38] Speaker B: Also very sick.
[00:14:40] Speaker A: Yeah, just awesome. Awesome look. Awesome weapon. They double team Monet. And then pretty soon after Marina Shafir comes out, who is the final heel for that team.
[00:14:54] Speaker B: I think like right before this to what my favorite moments, like, favorite moments of the match happen where that like tosses Mina into a hurricane Ron on Mercedes and like falls down bloody on the fucking ropes and Mina does her like, shimmy after the Rana. And then you see stat down across the ropes. Just does a sad little shimmy. Herself is covered in blood.
[00:15:15] Speaker C: Yeah. Which was what Staten Mina doing that double team. Like, I don't think they've ever teamed up that much. Like, and they looked so good together.
[00:15:27] Speaker B: It was really good. Maybe in like one of those like 500,000 $, like multi man, you know, multi person match or something. Yeah, no, they. They float. They had very good chemistry.
[00:15:38] Speaker A: Yeah. I think like on. On both sides for this, like everybody.
[00:15:44] Speaker B: Everybody.
[00:15:45] Speaker A: Really well. Yeah. You know, for this.
[00:15:47] Speaker B: Even like parts that should have felt kind of like disparate, like having a team with Maragina, Shafira and Mercedes Monet who really operate in separate orbits in the show. Like, they all still felt like a cohesive heel unit.
[00:16:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:16:01] Speaker B: Yeah. These are the meanest on the show. Like.
[00:16:06] Speaker A: Which Marina, the mean that she is, comes out and just rips Statlander out of the cage and reveals the hidden bed of nails that was outside the ring.
[00:16:17] Speaker B: Get some circus tricks in this video.
[00:16:19] Speaker A: Yep. They. They fight. Unfortunately, stat takes the bump onto the bed of nails and then Marina like sits down on the stairs.
[00:16:31] Speaker B: That took it like, as safely as she could. Like, she got.
[00:16:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:16:34] Speaker B: Got her legs straight and like kind of. Yeah.
But I saw some pictures she posted on Twitter and she's got her back was still had a bunch of puncture wounds on it.
[00:16:42] Speaker C: Yeah, it was very much like she was like she was falling and trying to stay up and just couldn't do it. And it was just so close. But then onto the. Oh, it was.
That was one of my moments of the night. That was real good.
[00:16:56] Speaker A: Yeah. And then I thought it was really funny. Like, Marina like sits down, rips her boots off and then throws her socks at Statlander while she's laying on the bed of nails, which just a.
What a. A badass Move to take your boots off before you get into the hardcore ring.
[00:17:16] Speaker B: This show was, like, such a good showcase for how amazing Marina Shafir has become.
Like, yeah, honestly, being kind of just like, an ROH person who was really kind of. I don't say mid, but, you know, she wasn't, like, excelling in any way to, like, the Death Riders just have turned her into, like, one of my most want to watch people on the show at this point, and she does crazy in this.
[00:17:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Pretty soon after, Toni Storm comes out with a purse full of goodies. She's got a handful of pearls that she tries to bash Marina with, who just absolutely no sells it.
[00:17:53] Speaker B: The craziest makeup I've ever seen on a human being.
[00:17:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:17:58] Speaker B: Like, somehow, like, huge black smear across her lips for lipstick. Like.
[00:18:03] Speaker C: Yeah, it was, like, reminiscent of. Of Kishen Liger. The. The evil juice.
What is she doing?
[00:18:13] Speaker B: A huge pancake, like, white face with just, like, black smears like.
[00:18:17] Speaker A: Like Joker. Joker makeup is, like, an understatement for it.
[00:18:22] Speaker B: And of course, she's selling it with, like, the craziest facial expressions you've ever seen, too. Like.
[00:18:27] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. She, like, I.
Everybody in this match was awesome. But, like, as soon as she came out, she, like, as she does, just, like, immediately stole the show. And I was like, okay, I'm gonna focus on her.
[00:18:38] Speaker B: It makes it feel like a big deal when Tony is there.
[00:18:41] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. She tapes up her fist as she's. As she's coming in. She grabs the bucket with the bottle of champagne that's on the table for Monet's belts.
And she gets in, beats up Marina, or tries to, rather, and eventually starts taping up her hand the opposite way so the sticky side is on the outside. And then starts beating just like the.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: John Claude Van Dam movie kickboxer, like, knows her classics. I think it's called Taipei or something like that is what it's called, but it's just incredibly cool.
[00:19:26] Speaker A: Just the. Starts decking people with a fistful of glass. Like, awesome, awesome stuff. Eventually, a table sneaked out and gets put up, like, on the apron in between the two rings, like, kind of stealthily.
[00:19:41] Speaker C: I honestly, I think Julia Hart was, like, sliding under the ring a whole bunch of times that we didn't see because she just, like, the way she snuck out later.
[00:19:52] Speaker B: It did come in through the door.
[00:19:54] Speaker C: No, I think she went, like.
[00:19:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:56] Speaker C: On the side. Went under the apron and went under something to get more stuff.
[00:20:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:20:01] Speaker B: Crazy little gymnast monkey movements.
[00:20:04] Speaker C: So tiny.
[00:20:06] Speaker A: Yeah. Which comes into Play a little later on.
[00:20:10] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: So they roll Jamie onto the table.
Sky blue starts climbing up the side of the cage to jump off.
But hater climbs up to meet her powerbomb into the table. Table. No, Sells elbow drop into the table. Table barely sells.
[00:20:28] Speaker B: There were so many we are the table moments or I am the table moments throughout this show. It's not even funny.
[00:20:34] Speaker C: Yeah, none of those tables wanted to break.
[00:20:36] Speaker B: They imported them all from Japan.
[00:20:38] Speaker A: Like, they really did. The tables.
The tables were not.
Didn't work for them tonight, brother.
Then after that, Mercedes has, like, a huge string of spots where she, like, grabs and kisses Toni Storm hits the money maker.
[00:20:57] Speaker B: Like the best Monet maker in years. It looked perfect.
[00:21:00] Speaker A: Yes, it really did.
And then, like, Statlander tries to get her up for something. She struggles out, hits her with the backstabber. And then it's at this point that the smallness of Julia Hart and Tekla comes into play, where they climb through the tresses that are holding the cage together.
[00:21:24] Speaker B: One more thing, though. We missed. Missed Mini Monet.
[00:21:28] Speaker A: Oh, did I? Oh, I did skip over that later.
[00:21:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
No, that's like, right before the climb out spot.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: Oh, that was.
Yes.
[00:21:38] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. Could not be.
[00:21:40] Speaker C: Oh, so good.
[00:21:42] Speaker A: Mini Monet makes an appearance with Harley Cameron.
Mercedes, as always, has none of it, rips it off to reveal brass knuckles underneath on the hand of Harley Cameron, who just.
Mercedes with it. Oh, amazing.
[00:22:00] Speaker B: Inventive ways to do stuff with that puppet and make me laugh.
[00:22:03] Speaker C: I just imagine William Regal seeing that with his love of being ridiculous and using brass knucks and go, how did I never do this?
How did this never.
God damn it. Like, he's. He's gotta be pissed.
[00:22:19] Speaker A: A puppet. Brilliant.
[00:22:21] Speaker B: We do need a William Regal Muppet Movie.
Yeah. He's the only human being and I would watch the hell out of that.
[00:22:28] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[00:22:31] Speaker B: Frog with the mask.
[00:22:34] Speaker A: Frog with the mask.
But yes, Julia and Tekla sneak through the side of the cage.
Yeah, they just. They snake out. They spear a ref and steal the key to the locked doors for my cozy guy.
Yeah, they open it up and Mercedes just starts throwing women right out of the.
Out of the door and, like, onto the steps.
I think it was Hayter. Looked like she took a nasty.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: Like they took a tumble. Harley just kind of ran down the stairs, but I can't blame her.
[00:23:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
Statlander and Mercedes start climbing the cage and, like, lining up with the belt table. That's still out there.
And Statlander hits a huge Samoan drop right through the table. Looks amazing.
[00:23:34] Speaker B: That is the last we see of Mercedes Monet.
[00:23:37] Speaker A: Yeah, she is.
[00:23:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
She takes a nap after this.
[00:23:42] Speaker A: Yep. Cut back to the action in the ring.
Toni Storm and Marina are going at it, and Mina and. Excuse me, Mina and Tony both have shoes.
Somehow bashing.
Bashing the heels with the heels.
[00:24:02] Speaker C: Must have been in the purse.
[00:24:05] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's true.
[00:24:06] Speaker B: It was a big purse. There's probably more than just pearls in there.
[00:24:09] Speaker A: Pearls, shoes, extra tape, everything a woman needs.
[00:24:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:24:15] Speaker A: They spread the. The glass out in the middle of the ring and Marina, like, eats like a huge. I think it was a tornado DDT from Mina onto.
Onto the glass.
[00:24:28] Speaker B: They did, like, a double DDT on her. Like, I think it was.
[00:24:31] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. That's right.
[00:24:33] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
But I spiked her, like, right on her face.
[00:24:37] Speaker A: Yeah.
At this point, Toni Storm procures a mirror.
[00:24:43] Speaker B: That was not in the purse, I don't think.
[00:24:45] Speaker A: I don't.
I wouldn't put it past her if anybody was away.
[00:24:51] Speaker B: Pocket dimension she has in there.
Yeah.
I was half. I was really hoping Luther would make an appearance in this match. In the back of my mind.
[00:24:59] Speaker A: Oh, that would have been nice.
[00:25:01] Speaker C: Maybe the whole timeless thing is Toni Storm is a Time Lord and the purse is her Tardis. Why not?
[00:25:08] Speaker B: That was Tony's Time Lord.
[00:25:11] Speaker A: Luther was in the purse, too.
[00:25:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Luther's the assistant or whatever.
[00:25:16] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The companion to.
[00:25:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
Mariah May is a Dalek.
[00:25:28] Speaker A: But yes, a mirror makes an appearance and she sets Marina up in the corner, sets her up with the mirror, teases the hip attack, goes, runs for it, and Marina just throws it at her.
[00:25:43] Speaker B: This was crazy. I. Yeah.
[00:25:47] Speaker A: The most audible reaction of anything of the night.
[00:25:50] Speaker B: Yeah. I gasped.
[00:25:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
Just. Oh, my God. Like, that was amazing.
[00:25:56] Speaker B: It hit her perfect. Like, it explodes on Tony, like.
[00:26:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:26:02] Speaker C: So good.
[00:26:03] Speaker A: So good.
Willow hits a giant superplex onto Megan Bain in the. The little narrow apron between the ring.
[00:26:14] Speaker C: Yeah, the in between.
[00:26:16] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. I love that with double rings. It adds such a nice little, like, extra dimension to the offense and when they can do things there.
[00:26:23] Speaker A: Yeah.
That unfortunately kind of takes Willow out and, like, it's at this point that the door gets locked up.
Mina tries her best to kind of make a comeback. She hits that baseball bat. Figure 4.
[00:26:39] Speaker C: That was so good.
[00:26:41] Speaker A: Megan Bain, which was awesome.
But that got countered and broken up by Marina Shafir stomping the glass with her bare foot. And then, you know, with the glass.
[00:26:55] Speaker B: Footage of her is insane.
[00:26:58] Speaker A: Just ridiculous.
[00:27:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:27:01] Speaker A: And then with the rest of the faces either incapacitated or locked out. Toni Storm is held and made to watch as Mina just gets destroyed by Marina and Megan Bain. She gets.
[00:27:17] Speaker B: Yeah, Marina gets her in the mother's milk and.
[00:27:19] Speaker A: Yeah, brutal.
[00:27:21] Speaker C: It is my favorite.
It's my favorites when you need someone to quit or surrender. It is my favorite ending when the heels make someone quit to protect someone they care about.
It just always gets me.
[00:27:35] Speaker A: Yep. And that's what Tony had to do. She surrendered. So the heels win.
[00:27:40] Speaker B: And it was a very, like, cinematic shot too, where Tony's being held back by four women screaming and moaning while he's being tortured in front of her. And Aubrey Plaza's in the middle. Like, Christ figure. Like, are you done?
They say Aubrey Plaza or Aubrey.
[00:27:57] Speaker A: He said.
[00:28:01] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure she'd be cool with it.
[00:28:04] Speaker B: That would be great if she was a ref in aew. I'd watch that.
[00:28:09] Speaker C: Be the first referee to join the. The triangle of madness.
[00:28:15] Speaker A: Honestly.
But yes, Aubrey Edwards has to, like, stop Marina from like, beating up Mina and it's like, hey, you won.
Stop.
It's done.
You won. You don't need to do this anymore.
What a match.
[00:28:37] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, like the Marina and Techla just jump on the cage and just start flipping the crowd off after they win. They're just incredibly mad.
But yeah, no, it was a great, great match. Like what these kind of matches should be.
[00:28:52] Speaker A: Yeah, I, yeah, I don't think I've got anything bad to say about it. That was, no, a perfect blood and guts match.
A ton of fun. And I'm, I'm glad that the women in AEW finally got a chance to, to show out. And like, they talked on commentary as well that, like, everything has kind of been building to this for all the feuds that, like, yeah, they've reached a point where, yeah, pretty much our blood feuds and like, this was a great way to kind of blow those off.
Like, they've got the tag tournament going on kind of right now as well.
And so, like, there's some tension.
[00:29:33] Speaker B: There's a lot of renewed focus and like, stories in the women division, which is nice.
[00:29:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:29:38] Speaker C: And the this match, it just. So everyone had their moment.
Every story had its moment.
Like, it couldn't have been better. It was just, just perfect.
[00:29:53] Speaker A: Yeah. All done through the vehicle of a car crash hardcore match.
Like, it's just just really well done.
[00:30:04] Speaker B: And still Mercedes Monet is on the table, laying down outside some days.
[00:30:09] Speaker A: She's still on that table to this day.
[00:30:11] Speaker C: Yeah, she's still there now.
[00:30:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
CM Punk did that once in WWE where, like, he lost a cage match and he just laid in the middle of the ring, like, until they dismantled the ring around him and everybody in the audience. There's, like, one person in the audience who stayed taking pictures, but he just, like, laid in the middle of the ring for like, two hours after the show was done.
[00:30:32] Speaker A: We go backstage to Jurassic Express being jumped by the Don Callis family.
You see Luchasaurus get whacked with a kendo stick from Rocky Romero. And absolutely no sell it. Which Rocky's just like, what do I do?
[00:30:49] Speaker B: That was a great little bit. Yeah.
[00:30:51] Speaker A: But luckily there's some other large men that can help him out to take those guys out. So they take Jurassic Express down. Josh Alexander presents him to Okada and Don and the young Bucks, who are still getting courted by Don Callis to join the family.
They sent a message to the Bucks last week.
[00:31:16] Speaker B: So the Don Callis Luchasaurus tried to steal.
Yeah, I saw a good little, like, they did a little, like, extra video clip where Okada to keep the young Bucks in the trailer, like, while the Jurassic Express is getting beat up. The young boys wanted to go check Okada, like, had them take selfies with him instead of, like, no, no, don't go outside. Just take more selfies.
[00:31:40] Speaker A: That's amazing.
So they, they had a message for Jurassic Express.
Don't mess with the Don Callis family.
And Don says that, well, Kenny's gonna be here next week, Bucks. Maybe you can send him a message by joining the Don Callis family.
They walk off. Bucks are just kind of like, we'll see next week.
Then Okada's there, like, tapping his wrist, like, decision time, which I thought was really funny.
[00:32:13] Speaker B: Yeah, like, the biggest, cheesiest grid on his face while he's doing it too. And we talk about. But you can tell Kata's just, like, having the time of his life doing this.
[00:32:21] Speaker A: He seems like he's having a blast.
[00:32:24] Speaker C: Yeah, it's like, the most fun it looks like he's had since he was balloon Okada.
[00:32:30] Speaker B: Yeah, he always just. He seems like he's having the most fun when he's just doing the weirdest, like, offbeat he can.
[00:32:37] Speaker C: I mean, when I first got into, like, New Japan, he was still doing the Scooby Doo elbow drop, where every time he did the elbow drop off the top, he yelled, Scooby Dooby Doo.
And this is like, the man main eventing Wrestle Kingdom. And he's yelling, Scooby Dooby Doo.
[00:32:55] Speaker B: He's about to retire. Tanahashi.
[00:32:58] Speaker A: Yeah. He truly cannot be stopped.
Our cooldown match for the two blood and guts matches is a false count anywhere match between AEW men's World Champion Hangman Adam Page and one third of the trio's champion, Powerhouse Hobbes.
Yeah.
Which was again, you say that. That. That's your cooldown match is wild.
[00:33:35] Speaker B: But yeah, this is the least crazy match on the card. And this is like would on any other Dynamite would be the most insane thing.
[00:33:41] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's. The next segment is the only cooldown part of this.
[00:33:46] Speaker B: This show.
[00:33:48] Speaker C: This match went hard.
[00:33:51] Speaker A: They did not waste any time going at it.
Hobbs, like, immediately rips off the.
The turnbuckle cover, which Hangman then struggles but manages to.
To rip his own off.
[00:34:05] Speaker B: Like the Hangman's ribs are still taped up. Selling the injuries from last week too.
[00:34:10] Speaker A: Yes.
Yeah.
[00:34:12] Speaker B: Little continuity into why this match is.
[00:34:13] Speaker A: Happening, but it does give Hobbs quite the target to focus on, which he does much throughout this match.
Starts off taking shots on Hangman's ribs.
Eventually gets him like, to the outside and starts like whipping him back and forth between the apron and the barricade to really do some damage to those first off, which that's what he was there to do. He was there to hurt Hangman Adam Page.
[00:34:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Just muscling him around will abs insane.
[00:34:53] Speaker A: Eventually Hangman manages to like, dodge a.
He's like, placed up against the steps by. By Hobbs. And Hobbs went to do like a, Like a rolling, like, sentence just to get out of the way and get a little bit of offense. But when he goes to do like, the leap off of the steps to like, Larry at Hobbs, Hobbs just catches him, turns, slams him on the apron, turns, slams him on the table, turns, goes up the steps, jumps off the steps, slams him onto the steps.
[00:35:32] Speaker B: World's strongest slam that. He also yells at Tony Schiavone and tells Tony Schiavone it's all his fault this is happening.
They really did not like that Halloween prank.
[00:35:45] Speaker A: Shivani's just like, look, I. I didn't know. Like, I thought he was just. I. I didn't know he was gonna do this. I thought he was just poking fun. Like, it's just a goof. How was I supposed to go, yeah.
[00:35:58] Speaker C: What am I gonna do? Say no?
[00:36:00] Speaker B: Yeah, that.
Yeah. Hobbs climbing the stairs while carrying Agmund, though. I was. That blew my mind a little bit.
[00:36:08] Speaker A: Yeah, he's just incredibly strong and like, Hangman is not a small guy to be picking up and lugging around like that.
No, without a doubt he's got the upper hand now. He continues to beat Hangman up. They get back in the, back in the ring. Hangman gets like caught up again in that little in between segment between the two rings where like Hobbs like hits him once, he like bounces off and then he like hits him again as he's like rebounding in between like the short area between the two sets of ropes. Yeah, be like inventive.
[00:36:48] Speaker B: Eggman had prayed today too.
Yes.
If he prayed like five times through the badass line, I'm not gonna. That's a cool thing to say while you're whipping the out of somebody.
[00:37:01] Speaker A: Like, yeah, I forget who on commentary described it as a brow beating, but it was a pretty apt description of what Hobbs was doing. Doing to Hangman.
Eventually gets him back out of the ring. They go up on the announce table and it looks like Hobbs is gonna like pick him up and slam him through.
And then Hangman gives Hobbs a back body drop off the announce table right.
[00:37:35] Speaker B: To the floor and it just bounces off that floor. He lands on his ass.
I almost wonder if, like, I, I wonder if it was supposed to be a back body drop on the table, but you know, like when they're first climbing onto it, Hobbs, his foot goes through the table and it's really wobbly. So I'm wondering if they were like, well, I don't want a chance taking this step forward, forward and having the whole thing come down. I'm just gonna back by, drop you off the edge of it instead.
Yeah, real quick. You just see Hobbs's foot like goes right through it. He has to kind of like wiggle it back out.
[00:38:12] Speaker A: Okay.
But yeah, that was a gnarly back body drop that he just kind of basketballed off. And that's kind of where Hangman manages to get his momentum.
He throws him out over the barricade.
They start fighting through the crowd.
Hangman like climbs up, hits the the 10 punches, grabs a beer from a fan, chugs it, hands it back, hits a moonsault like that. The true pinnacle of Cowboy.
[00:38:47] Speaker B: Like, that's one of the things that makes Hangman so good, is he's not just like a fantastic wrestler. Like, there's tons of fantastic wrestlers in this company, but he's so good at like these little connecting, like charisma moments that really give you like a feel for who he is.
[00:39:01] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, he's a all arounder. He knows every single part of the job and does it perfectly.
[00:39:08] Speaker A: Yes, yes. That's like what makes him Such.
Not just a great wrestler, but, like a great champ that, like, he can, like.
[00:39:15] Speaker B: Yeah, that's he. And I've heard him call. He's the ace of a. He is the, like, Tanahashi of aew.
Yeah.
[00:39:23] Speaker A: Honestly, one point.
[00:39:26] Speaker B: He, like, bad or Sammy Guevara, one of the two.
Sorry.
[00:39:31] Speaker A: Yeah, you know, it's a really. It's a really hard choice between the two of those.
[00:39:36] Speaker C: Oh, geez.
[00:39:37] Speaker A: I don't know. Which one am I going with?
[00:39:43] Speaker B: Brandon Cutler.
[00:39:48] Speaker A: Is, was, and always will be this one. I think Hangman just takes a trash can and just bounces it off the head of Will Hobbs, just. Just doinks him with it.
But that really didn't matter because Hobbs just turns around, picks him up, spine busters him through the tables that are right there.
They go for a pinfall because again, this is anywhere.
[00:40:21] Speaker B: I think that was the first pinfall attempt of the match, too. Like, they really. Yeah, they beat the. Out of each other for, like, 10 minutes before they even tried to do a pin. Yeah, I could be wrong, but, yeah, I don't think they tried.
[00:40:32] Speaker A: I think there may have been, like, one in the ring earlier, maybe one. But the first fall to be counted anywhere of the match, for sure.
[00:40:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:40:43] Speaker A: Hangman kicks out. Hobbs puts the straps down so, you know he means business.
They start fighting up the steps and like, in the first row kind of like in like a little, like, overhang thing. And they're like, pushing the fans out of the way, like, get it. Get out of here. Get out of here.
[00:41:02] Speaker C: There's one fan who reached over to pat Hangman on the back but would not put his pretzel down. So he's just like, like, rubbing his pretzel on that. And I was losing. It's like, yeah, you don't want. You don't want to lose the pretzel. Those things are good.
[00:41:18] Speaker B: The sweat is just extra salt. It just added to the flavor.
[00:41:21] Speaker C: Yeah, just like. Oh, just dip. No, I'm just dipping.
[00:41:26] Speaker A: Just dipping on Hangman.
Just a little dip.
[00:41:30] Speaker B: I'm gonna frame this pretzel, pass it down to Macho. It's the pretzel that touched Hangman. So.
[00:41:38] Speaker A: Pair that up with the guy who.
Hangman drank his beer.
Yeah, off that right there.
So they're fighting, like, over this overhang. They're moving the fans out of the way.
Will Hobbs, like, goes to pick him up. He's gonna throw Hangman over. Hangman manages to wiggle his way out.
Hangman pops his boot off, backs up the steps a little Bit out of.
[00:42:08] Speaker B: Shoe fighting this episode.
[00:42:10] Speaker A: There was a lot of shoe fighting this episode.
[00:42:13] Speaker B: Like Austin Powers who throws a shoe.
[00:42:20] Speaker C: This, this match was for the sickos and the foot sickos, so.
[00:42:24] Speaker B: For Quentin Tarantino. Yeah, yeah.
[00:42:28] Speaker A: There's a Venn diagram there.
[00:42:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:42:32] Speaker A: But the cowboy boot clocks powerhouse Hobbs who stumbles and falls off the overhang into the electrical table, quote, unquote, electrical table of the venue.
[00:42:50] Speaker B: You hit an electrical table, it explodes into sparks.
You know, it looks sick.
Yeah, I love that. I'm like flickering the lights too. Like it's a Phantom of the Opera moment for Hangman up there.
[00:43:04] Speaker C: Time has made it so as an attitude error because I watched wrestling in the attitude era and I can't enjoy any of it anymore. But the thing that has maintained is I love those big, giant, unnecessary explosions.
[00:43:19] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:19] Speaker C: Oh, it just. It just brought me back.
[00:43:22] Speaker A: Yep, it was. It was a great callback to worse times in now, better times.
[00:43:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:33] Speaker A: Which that was enough for Hangman to crawl down there, get the pin. 1, 2, 3.
[00:43:39] Speaker B: Hangman wins also, like, you kind of forgot about the pin for. He's like, celebrate up there's like, oh, I gotta get down and pin him. Donut.
[00:43:46] Speaker A: He's standing up there with the boot, like, yeah, I did it.
[00:43:50] Speaker B: Okay, freak out.
[00:43:52] Speaker A: Yep, he gets the win. He starts making his way back through the crowd out into the ring. He gets jumped by Shibata.
Surprise, surprise. Gets jumped by Joe. Surprise, surprise.
They start beating him up. Joe calls for them to bring down the double cage to trap him in there so they can really do some damage.
Eddie Kingston and Hook manage to run out and scare off the Ops Ron right before the cage lowers.
[00:44:21] Speaker B: Eddie's just going wild with that chair. Every week now. Eddie Kingston just runs out with a different object and swings it around like a maniac.
[00:44:29] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:44:31] Speaker C: Yeah, he hit himself a little with.
[00:44:33] Speaker A: The chair, smacking himself in the head too, like, oh, what a guy.
And they have a little stare down.
[00:44:42] Speaker B: And well, also they. Heyman gets the mic.
[00:44:46] Speaker A: That is true. He does grab the mic afterwards and he says, joe, you dumbass, if you wanted me in a cage, all you had to do was ask.
He says, leave Shabata at home. Leave Hobbs in the hospital at full gear. It's Hangman versus Joe in a steel cage match.
[00:45:07] Speaker B: That was a great line too.
Which is going to rule. Like, yeah, I was very excited when they said that. Joe is a legendary cage match guy. Hangman killed Spur of Strickland in one. Like, this is gonna be it. And they just did a straight Singles match at the last pay per view. So it's. I'm glad they're giving like the rematches. They're doing this. And Briscoe and Kyle, at least they're giving them some stipulations to differentiate.
[00:45:36] Speaker A: This point. Shivani comes out, wants to thank the Greensburg Coliseum for the. The history that they and TBS have with each other and calls out who but Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, who makes his way out to the ring. And they wax poetic.
[00:45:56] Speaker B: All thought was going to be Ric Flair.
I even kind of held the word Ricky.
Yeah, apparently.
[00:46:05] Speaker C: Apparently he was supposed to be part of this, but he like is hurt or something and needed to go.
[00:46:12] Speaker B: Torn rotate. Yeah, he did like a little live thing before the show started, like with the fans, but I guess he has a torn rotator cuff and left because he was hurting too bad. So they had to pivot to having it all just be Ricky. I think it's kind of weird why this segment maybe did feel a little off in my opinion. Like not terribly so, but like was.
[00:46:32] Speaker A: It was a little awkward.
[00:46:33] Speaker B: They. They had to kind of throw some stuff together last minute.
[00:46:37] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Tony and Ricky start talking about, you know, the history of TBS and, and Greensboro and how kind of intertwined the two of those are.
Steamboat starts telling a story about, you know, when he was fresh into the business back in the 70s and this and that and Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. And then who interrupts but ftr, the huge respectors of classical wrestling that they are.
Stokely comes out and yaps for a little bit and tries to introduce himself to Ricky Steamboat.
I did like that like Steamboat was, was there like Big Stoke is talking about, you know, how he's Big Stoke and Steamboat's doing the, you know, I'm this much taller than you bit.
[00:47:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I was like that. Stokely said that had to clarify that he is not Denzel Washington because people make that mistake. Okay, you're talking to Ricky. The first thing you say to Ricky, this Dragon Steamboat is like, I know you think I'm Denzel Washington, but I'm not.
[00:47:41] Speaker A: It is I. Stokely Hathaway says how. Talks about how Ricky is synonymous with, you know, history and wrestling and says that FTR is going to make history when they become three time tag team champs at Full Gear. And Stoke said that he would be honored to have his favorite wrestler of all time at the front row of Full Gear and asks Steamboat if he has Macho Man's phone number.
[00:48:09] Speaker C: He hasn't seen him on TikTok lately.
[00:48:15] Speaker A: Macho Man's been dead for almost 15 years.
Oh, that's such.
[00:48:22] Speaker B: I do actually follow. I follow quite a few Macho man impersonators on Tick Tock and there are some very good ones. It's a surprisingly rich sub niche of the app.
[00:48:33] Speaker C: I still think Stokely was like top five signing for aew. He's just. Oh yeah, he's always a delight.
[00:48:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Actually it was during interview Dax just did. He was talking about he. How he's the one who got Tony Khan to sign Stokely. Apparently they were supposed to work together back in wwe, but it like never. When they were, you know, Stoke was in nxt and yeah, was still there like right before they came to aew, but it just never came together. Then when they brought Soakley over, FDR was having these big face reactions and they didn't want to pair them then, so they stuck him with Jade and then Chris and Stad and this is like, finally the culmination of like years of them wanting to do something together. And it's just amazing.
[00:49:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Which it's, it's working really well. I don't think we will ever stop extolling the greatness of Stokely Hathaway.
And also, like, what a. That Macho man line was such a great heel line. Like not only to like insult the wrestler that's right in front of you because I'm asking for a different wrestler's number, but that I actually don't know the history of wrestling. And like asking for the number of this guy who is very well passed at this point.
[00:49:48] Speaker B: And also, your friend is dead. Like, yeah.
[00:49:51] Speaker A: And also, yeah, like, what a.
Just what a. Brilliant.
[00:49:55] Speaker B: Brilliant on three different levels. Yeah.
[00:49:58] Speaker A: So good.
FTR Gun apologizes and they show how they were hand selected by Ricky Steamboat to be in his last match. And they said they were honored to be there to be able to show how Ricky Steamboat was a shell of his former self.
FDR bald apologizes for that.
Says, you know, I 12, 15 years ago, I, I trained with Ricky Steamboat. And you know, he, he said a lot of.
Said a lot of important and a lot of wise things to me. He said.
Actually, you know, I don't, I don't think he ever said an intelligent thing the entire time that I've worked with you. Which he does say.
There was one thing he said, you know, he reminded FTR Bald to. To save his money. Which he said if Ricky Steamboat had taken that advice, he wouldn't have had to show up on AEW tonight.
[00:51:02] Speaker B: Which again, good advice.
[00:51:04] Speaker A: Another. Another Great, Great heel dig.
[00:51:07] Speaker B: Yeah, that was good, though.
[00:51:09] Speaker A: Talks about how he's going to be a bigger legend than Steamboat ever was and tells him to. To get out of his ring.
Steamboat says, you know, a couple years ago, I might have told you all to kiss my ass, but I'm older, I'm wiser now. I'm gonna take the high road. He goes to leave, gets jumped by FTR because of course, they're Rodido. Come out, make the save, hit a huge 21. Plex and Lariat out of the ring onto FTR gun.
They start beating up FTR bald. But Stoke manages to pull them out of the ring.
They have their stare down and celebrate with Ricky Steamboat in the ring as the faces make the save.
[00:51:58] Speaker B: Good segment, but no gravity, so I don't care.
[00:52:01] Speaker A: Yeah, it was.
[00:52:03] Speaker B: It filled time as they brought the whole show down.
[00:52:06] Speaker A: Topanga, as you said, this was the cooldown segment of the night.
[00:52:09] Speaker C: Yeah, big cool down.
[00:52:13] Speaker A: I'm sorry, did you say cool down or cool down segment?
[00:52:17] Speaker C: I. I do think FTR are underrated as I, I loved them as the revival in nxt.
I thought they were just so good at that.
And yeah, it's good to see them again. Just, just the pacing was off. I don't need to see Ricky Steamboat. I don't. I don't care.
[00:52:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I'm glad it wasn't Ric Flair, I guess.
[00:52:39] Speaker C: Like, it's better than it could have been.
[00:52:41] Speaker B: If I. Out of the two, I like Ricky Moore abs.
[00:52:44] Speaker C: Yeah, by leaps and bounds, but I. I don't trust Ricky.
[00:52:48] Speaker B: But also, they just, they keep doing this thing whenever they. They're in the mid Atlantic, they're like in New North Carolina. It's like, just. You don't have to bring out these legends every single time. Like.
[00:52:56] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:52:57] Speaker B: Historic enough night on its own.
[00:52:59] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm sure by now they know that you respect them. They can stay home and watch on their TVs.
[00:53:06] Speaker A: Yeah, just. Just send them the payday in the mail.
[00:53:09] Speaker B: We'll go Everybody watch the WrestleMania 3 match with Steamboat and Savage's tribute, and we'll all be happy.
[00:53:17] Speaker A: Oh, that's a. That's a fourth dig on that Stokely line. I didn't even think about the match.
Wow, what a guy.
[00:53:31] Speaker B: We're gonna finish it out with the men's blood and guts. Mad. Where we have Darby Allen, Roderick Strong, Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, and Kyle O'Reilly versus the Death Riders of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Pac, Daniel Garcia, and wheeler.
[00:53:45] Speaker A: You know 5v5 Men's.
Yeah.
[00:53:49] Speaker B: The mortal.
And we start off with Darby and Wheeler. Darby comes out, he's got his little like his trademark, the skateboard with the tax on it that is kind of his like go to thing which kind of figured he'd do something like that. Yeah, I like starting this off too. Yuta just like keeps leaving and just talking over and over again.
[00:54:13] Speaker A: I also like how Brian was happy. He was like, you know, I'm really excited to see you to come out here and start it for the Death Riders because that means we'll get even more time of Yuta being beat up.
[00:54:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
Danielson was elated to see Wheeler you to get the kicked out of him for this. He says it like three times. He's like, I'm having a great day.
[00:54:32] Speaker A: But he was so happy.
[00:54:35] Speaker B: Darby takes out Wheeler Yuta with a big drop kick on the outside. That did look pretty sweet, honestly.
Tosses Wheeler all over the place.
Yuta gets advantage and takes him back in the cage and.
Or yeah, gets back in the cage and Darby goes to follow. And you just slams the cage in Darby's face.
You just starts yelling at the camera, being like, Darby keeps running. What do you want me to do? Like we've said a million times, he's. He's a great eel, right?
[00:55:06] Speaker A: He really is.
[00:55:07] Speaker B: Yeah. They've got a cool little spot too where Darby times the K. He does like a springboard off the ropes that he spider mans onto the cage and then does a coffin drop off of the cage onto Wheeler Yuta. Like that was.
[00:55:21] Speaker A: That was impressive. Yeah.
[00:55:23] Speaker C: Darby just doesn't impress me anymore.
[00:55:26] Speaker B: I know that's he does cool looking stuff, but it's very seen at this point.
So I guess these were. These were the good like right two guys to start this match off with too. Yeah.
Massive heat and Darby gotta get things rolling. I say he rakes Utah's back all up with the thumbboard skateboard. And you just starts bleeding after that. We got Orange Cassidy coming out with his Jan sport, which is absolutely classic.
I absolutely love this first spot that Orange Cassie does where he takes his own sunglasses and he takes them off himself and mangles them and breaks them and starts stabbing Wheeler Yuta in the face with them.
[00:56:05] Speaker A: So good.
[00:56:06] Speaker B: He's so good at like taking these like facets of his gimmick that he's done for a long time and doing different things with them.
[00:56:15] Speaker A: Yes. Like we will see later in the match with him too.
[00:56:18] Speaker B: Yeah. There's more of that coming back up yeah, yeah.
[00:56:22] Speaker A: Great work.
[00:56:23] Speaker B: That's like the. Or he then tries to put the mangled sunglasses back on afterwards.
They're just the frame because the lenses are on the ground.
They grab some chains out of his backpack, too.
And Darby Allen does his spot where Yuta's, like, hunched over. So Darby jumps off the top row and lands on the thumbtack skateboard onto Yuta's back to the nother. And he's done quite a bit with that gimmick. Then next we get Daniel Garcia coming out with a surgical mask on for some reason.
That is it. Yeah.
[00:56:57] Speaker C: And then took it off before he gets into the rig. So.
[00:57:01] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:57:02] Speaker B: Okay.
I think he's just trying to look like an average pedestrian in Japan or something. Like, I don't get it.
I guess it looks kind of cool, I guess.
[00:57:12] Speaker C: But I knew the accessories out Japan.
[00:57:15] Speaker B: He goes to you.
[00:57:16] Speaker A: He's got a new mask.
[00:57:20] Speaker B: Yeah, I think he's just trying to look cool, I guess.
And he gets in and he gets Darby and Orange Cassidy into like, a double submission thing. And you would have takes them both out, kind of giving the heels the control again.
Yeah. With this one, the face is one that advantage match series they did over the last couple shows, and which. It's kind of an awkward dynamic in these type of matches. You usually want the heels kind of having the advantage so they can work those heat spots, but they. They work around it in some ways.
[00:57:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:57:53] Speaker B: That's the cool thing too, where Yuta and Garcia throw Orange Cassie into the ropes and take the chain that Orange Cassidy had and pull it out into an actual clothesline. Like, not an arm, like they made a clothesline and not the chain for him to hit.
[00:58:04] Speaker A: And then they try and do that to Darby and like, Darby, like, coffin drops the chain.
Yeah. They like three stooges bonk into each other.
[00:58:16] Speaker B: That was solid. Yeah. I love a good media of the mind spot like that.
Out next is Mark Briscoe. His music starts playing, but he isn't coming out. Who could have seen this coming?
Big, I think. Yeah. Intrigue again.
They cut backstage and Renee Phuket is walking around looking for Mark Briscoe. Kyle and Roddy Finder, and they find Mark in like, a backstage little, like, break room locker room thing. And he's all beat up and hurt. The.
He got attacked by somebody.
Damn Don. Calif family.
Yeah.
[00:58:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:58:55] Speaker B: Luckily, Roderick Strong is like, wait, it's just Garcia and you to hell. Go out there and kill him. I don't give a look.
He makes a beeline out and he just smashes the shit out of them boys.
[00:59:07] Speaker C: I love Roddy.
[00:59:09] Speaker B: I. Yeah, we've talked about how he is such a fucking amazing talent. Like, I don't think to me, he is one of the best offense guys in the business. Like, all the moves he does look so good and so damaging and so crisp every time for 20 years consistently.
[00:59:30] Speaker C: I still remember when I first started branching away from WWE and I started watching Ring of Honor.
The first match I ever saw was him versus Cedric Alexander where he was.
[00:59:42] Speaker B: Trying to teach the Back breakers feud.
[00:59:44] Speaker C: Yeah, he was trying to teach him respect after he did the lumbar check. And I'm the guy.
And so they had this match where he hit like, like 70 different kinds of backbreakers on Cedric Alexander. I'm. This is my first Ring of Honor match, and I'm like, this is amazing.
And to see him now getting all this, it's really cool. I love Roddy.
[01:00:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it's a very cool spot where he, like, has Yuta, like, popped up into a cutter that he drops onto Garcia on the map.
[01:00:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:00:20] Speaker B: Yeah. There's some just crazy, inventive stuff.
And next up is probably the.
The person, to me, who feels the most dangerous in this match, and I think it's just because of how they've been presenting, but it's Claudio Castignoli.
Just been on a beast tear in AEW lately.
Like, really, this seems exactly.
I think even Daniel Danielson says on commentary, kind of like what you mentioned. Like, you notice how a lot of other people came out with weapons. It's like Claudio does not come out with a weapon because he does not need a weapon. He is.
[01:00:55] Speaker C: He is the weapon.
[01:00:56] Speaker A: Yeah, that was. I think my line of the night was just Claudio Castagnoli is the weapon.
[01:01:03] Speaker B: Yep, exactly.
[01:01:04] Speaker A: Such a hard line. That's so cool.
[01:01:08] Speaker B: He gets, like, right into it, too. He catches Darby into the Orange swing position, but Orange Cassidy jumps on his back and tries to choke him out. And Claudio is just unaffected and just does the giant swing anyway with Orange Cassidy on his back the entire time.
[01:01:25] Speaker A: Just effortlessly insane again. It looks like he would just do it normally.
[01:01:32] Speaker C: Yeah. Then shortly after the spot where Garcia's doing the Romero special on Darby and then just kicks him off into Claudio hitting the uppercut and just. Yeah. Oh, it looked like he obliterated his jaw.
[01:01:47] Speaker B: Yeah, like, right before that, too. Claudio gets Darby up into the gorilla press and tosses him across the two rings. Like, at the time. He does it to Daniel Garcia. Like, mimes doing it along with him like, Garcia does so many good little, like, heel bits. Like, he's so great at being a.
Just, like, I love the guy. I wish. I do wish his face thing would have worked out better, but I think he's where he's supposed to be right now, just with stuff like that.
[01:02:17] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[01:02:18] Speaker B: Out Next is Kyle O'Reilly. Get Kyle and Roddy doing their paragon stuff, double teaming on Claudio. We start getting, like, a lot of kind of just brawling around here.
Orange Cassidy gets tossed over the top, and he gets stuck between the apron and the cage, which always looks, like incredibly painful. Like, of these matches, a lot of looks painful, but for some reason, just getting wedged down there looks like the worst, worst thing in the world to be.
[01:02:42] Speaker A: I'm like, I don't know how you get out from that.
[01:02:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Julia Hart squirm her way down and weasel you out.
[01:02:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:02:53] Speaker B: I say Claudio chucks Darby off the cage, and Darby, like, kind of bounces off the ropes and a pretty gnarly. That's what. Like, Claudio and Darby are such a good bearing because Darby is the ultimate rag doll, and Claudio could just do anything with him.
[01:03:09] Speaker A: Yeah. You can. You can almost make a bingo card. It's like, okay, those two are in a match. Claudio's gonna pick him up, and he's gonna throw him somewhere. Is it going to be into a second ring? Maybe. Is it going to be into a cage? Maybe. Is it going to be through a table? Maybe.
[01:03:26] Speaker B: Yeah. I think after that. Next we have Jan Maxley coming out, which even the.
Yeah. Commentary acknowledges that. Like, I'm kind of surprised he's not coming out last. Like, you would think Moxley would be the final piece of the puzzle to this.
[01:03:42] Speaker A: I thought the exact same thing.
[01:03:45] Speaker B: Yeah. I. I expected it. Or I didn't expect this. I expected him to be out last.
[01:03:50] Speaker A: Yeah. I was just like, okay, Pac's out fourth. He's out fifth. Perfect. He's the, you know, the mastermind of this all. Makes total sense. But no, he comes out fourth.
[01:04:00] Speaker B: It seems like the natural, like, progression, but I think it might kind of, like, reference. What's this underlining, dissolving of the Death Rider structure thing that's kind of going on in the background?
[01:04:12] Speaker C: Yeah. He's. He's. Mox has gone from dominant leader to trying to prove himself a little bit too hard.
[01:04:20] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:04:21] Speaker C: And so he saw that he. He thought Briscoe wasn't coming back.
All four guys in the ring are really hurt.
[01:04:27] Speaker B: He's got a fort. He's.
[01:04:29] Speaker C: This is like he's picking his moment, even though it's probably not the smartest move.
[01:04:35] Speaker B: Yes, I did like to. He slips over the barricade when he's climbing in and gets a little goofy, but then he pulls the fork out so he's still scary looking.
Yeah, he does. He jumps in. He immediately starts stabbing Kyle. And then Ronnie with the fork does spot where Darby tries to do the springboard coffin drop on a Mox, and Mox just stabs him in the back with the fork.
It looks pretty awful. I'm not gonna lie.
[01:05:01] Speaker A: This is the point where Kyle O'Reilly pops his own gusher and.
[01:05:10] Speaker B: Yeah, you thought sky blue was bleeding.
[01:05:13] Speaker A: Yeah. Maybe the bloodiest I've ever seen somebody in an AEW match. That was brutal.
[01:05:18] Speaker B: It's gotta be, like, top three or four. He was branched.
[01:05:23] Speaker C: Yeah. One of the bloodiest I've seen in aew. I've seen bloodier live, but that's definitely bloodiest at.
[01:05:29] Speaker B: Aw. It was up there on the MUDA scale, that's for sure.
Mox and Garcia are ripping up Darby's back with a fork, and they toss him over the ropes, and he goes down between the apron and the cage, but his feet are just sticking out like the wizard. The.
The witch from the wizard of Oz under the cab.
It was a very, very good visual. Yeah, right here. Max. Kyle's gushing, and Max gets the remnants of the broken mirror from the first blood and guts match and starts slashing Kyle up with that too.
I was just like, jesus Christ.
[01:06:05] Speaker C: Yeah, they started reusing weapons. It was really cool.
[01:06:10] Speaker A: Yeah, they just had a bucket of, like, detritus sitting over there.
[01:06:15] Speaker B: Yeah, I like that because. Yeah, they just.
All the.
All the. They probably just knocked down on the side or like, underneath the ring. It's like, oh, yeah, let's grab this and get it right back in. Yeah, it made it all feel very interconnected.
Speaking of interconnected, we get Renee, and I like to. I like how they did this. They had Renee on the call. Like, they kept the camera on the actual match in the action, but Renee calls into the boot.
Something you used to see, like, a lot in old, like, WWF back in the day, where they'd have people call in and like, talking. But, yeah, it was a good little way to do it.
[01:06:48] Speaker C: Yeah.
The only time they've done that. I can think of that they've done that in Aw is there was a time after Chris Jericho blew a fireball in Eddie Kingston's face.
Eddie called in while Jericho was on commentary, and he's like, yeah, I'm just at home with my wife right now. And everybody.
[01:07:06] Speaker B: Everyone's like, what? Why? What are you. He's just making stuff up.
[01:07:13] Speaker A: It's so good.
[01:07:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Renee call gets on the call and says that Mark was attacked by the Don Callis family and that Mark probably won't be in the match. Garcia Mox hit an assisted pile driver on Darby onto the glass that they dragged in from that previous match. The Mark Moxley then starts just dragging Darby through the glass.
Just gnarly stuff. Say Kyle gets kind of going back. He's trying to fight everybody he off, but he gets taken out with weapons. Darby does one my. I do like this spot with caged roofs where he climbed up the side and then he, like, monkey climbs, like, across the roof and drops onto everybody from the top. I thought that looks pretty cool.
[01:07:56] Speaker A: Which I think I remember, like, Sting doing something like that in one of the old war games matches.
[01:08:01] Speaker B: Somebody.
Yeah. Back. It was the.
The 91, I think, the one with Heyman's group. Like, it's considered, like, one of the quintessential war games matches. Somebody did that, like, top spot dropping down. Everybody. It might have been staying.
[01:08:14] Speaker A: It's very good to say it was staying and that Darby stole this from him as well.
[01:08:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, it could have been. Honestly, that would make sense since everything else he does is a tribute to Stings and why not? Yeah, we get the quote unquote last competitor, the bastard Pac.
He comes in and they lock the doors and start the match, even though Mark Briscoe is not there. Yuta somehow has the key to the door himself, too, which was. I didn't see how he got that. He sticks it down his pants when.
[01:08:46] Speaker C: When they locked the door, he scared the referee away and then took the key out of the lock.
[01:08:54] Speaker B: Okay. I was. Yeah, it wasn't. Yeah. And then he opens up the front of his tights and puts his ass beat. Mess.
[01:09:01] Speaker C: That's what you do.
[01:09:02] Speaker A: That's how you deter people.
[01:09:03] Speaker B: Yeah, but what's this? Mark Briscoe limps his way out with a chair and a toolbox and uses the bolt cutters to cut open the chain. Yeah, yeah. He has the bolt cutters with him, cuts open the chain, and suddenly he's not hurt anymore. He completely stops selling after this point.
[01:09:21] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:09:22] Speaker C: Once that door's opened, he's healed, baby.
[01:09:26] Speaker A: Pure adrenaline. It was running on adrenaline. Yeah.
[01:09:30] Speaker B: It's fighting spirit.
[01:09:32] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:09:32] Speaker B: I mean, it's wrestling. That's. Yeah, we got like that.
But it was pretty Funny how, like, he just cuts off from walking up. Like, when he walks to the ring to end, it's just so different.
Yeah. All the faces, they get a bunch of weapons. They get tools from the toolbox.
Mark puts. Gets Garcia outside and puts him on the table and starts climbing the cage.
And Garcia rolls off the table, but Kyle O'Reilly flies out and, like, catches him in an arm bar on the floor, which was really cool.
[01:10:01] Speaker C: Yeah, the flying. That's like a flying arm bar, which.
[01:10:05] Speaker B: You don't see off the stairs.
Yeah. An actual, like, elevation difference with it. Mark gets up there, and Wheeler Yuta gets up there, and they start brawling around the top of the cage. And Mark has a giant carabiner and rope that I assume is used for some technical aspect of cage construction that I don't know anything about. So I'm gonna roll. Sure. Yeah.
[01:10:28] Speaker A: They use it to get the chairs on the top of the ring, you know, like.
[01:10:32] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Check the view up there to be safe. Gotta sit up there and think for a while.
[01:10:38] Speaker A: It's my thinking cage.
[01:10:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Mark passes this giant carabiner and rope down to kylo riding outside, who has a stack of chairs, which he ties the carabiner through and hooks it up. He does very effortlessly. He's like a longshoreman out there, like I do.
[01:10:57] Speaker A: He ties him up, latches it on, and then just take him up.
[01:11:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Take it away, boys.
Yeah.
[01:11:06] Speaker C: Perfect.
[01:11:08] Speaker B: And Mark does. He pulls it up. It gets a little hung up on this top of the cage for a minute, but he's able to kind of, like, work around the side. Yeah. Pull it up.
They get up there, and Yuta and Mark Briscoe have a chair duel. Some Darth Maul versus Obi Wan stuff up there.
They. Mark wins this chair duel and smashes Wheeler Yuta with a chair.
Mark goes for the J Driller up there, but you'd have hits him in the balls. Mark Briscoe's balls have been just destroyed the last few weeks.
[01:11:39] Speaker A: That's right. He's got enough kits.
[01:11:42] Speaker B: At nine. Like, call it a day, man.
Put the boys to rest. Let him retire.
Your ball's a tasteful gold watch.
[01:12:00] Speaker C: Oh, man.
[01:12:02] Speaker B: So, yeah, during the commercial, they have a couple little spots, too, where you just smash. And Mark with a chair, and if he has a wrench and he's just working on Kyle's ears, doing all kinds of nasty stuff with it. They get back from commercial, and Wheeler Yuta teases the J driller on top of the cage, But Mark gets Out and hits his own blow. Blow. Yeah. Mark actually finally does connect with the J driller on top of the cage. Cool.
[01:12:24] Speaker A: Unfortunately, there's no ref up there to count the pinfall.
[01:12:28] Speaker B: So it was in this match. Yeah, yeah. Unless he submitted or surrendered from his ball being smashed into a fine pace. Yeah. Which he could have done. He could have just kept hitting him in the. Until he's like, no, no, that's my.
[01:12:41] Speaker C: That's my blood.
[01:12:42] Speaker B: I don't have any kids or nine kids.
My balls are not retired.
They're still in business.
[01:12:52] Speaker A: They're in their prime.
[01:12:57] Speaker B: Our next is a surprise. It is Gabe Kidd from New Japan Pro wrestling slash mercenary for the Death Riders. He's got the stun gun that's been used on and off the last couple weeks. I get back in the ring and Garcia is choking Orange out. And Orange Cassidy puts his hands in his pocket and does his little, like, weasel the way out of the spot thing that he does with the, you know.
But Mox has a staple gun and staples Orange Cassidy's hands into his pockets.
Like we were saying earlier, with like, inventive ways. They keep using the tropes of his gimmick.
Yeah, that was really cool.
[01:13:37] Speaker A: So creative.
[01:13:41] Speaker B: Go back to the entryway where Pack and Gabe Kid have Darby and they are dragging him up onto the top of the lake entry tunnel by his neck with a belt, which was really brutal looking. And you see next to the tunnels are two conveniently taste place tables that must have been there. Just, you know, it's where you set your tunnel monitoring equipment before the show. Sure. The tunnels are all good.
[01:14:07] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:14:10] Speaker B: They. Gabe leaves and comes back with lighter fluid. He drenches the table, lights them on fire, and Pack throws Darby through the flaming tables. And this was one of the best flaming table spots I've ever seen.
[01:14:24] Speaker C: I gotta give it to him. That was a good one.
[01:14:27] Speaker A: It was.
[01:14:29] Speaker B: Darby just lands on that and explodes them perfectly.
[01:14:36] Speaker A: He's on fire.
[01:14:36] Speaker C: A little bit better than Cody. Looking like his. His shirt's been stuffed with feathers and.
[01:14:43] Speaker B: And missing this overshooting the suplex so his opponent doesn't even. Cody takes the entire flaming table bump himself.
[01:14:51] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
There's no hiding. No hiding this one.
[01:14:57] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. They did good. Darby catch a fire. You know, it's lighter fluid, so it burns at a really low heat. It does as much less of a chance. It looks super impressive. But they get them out, like right away afterwards, and it looks super cool.
Yeah, yeah. They cut back to the ring and Moxley is choking Kyle O'Reilly out with chain from Orange Cassidy's backpack.
Kind of selling that Kyle might tap. But Kyle just flips him off on his face.
[01:15:22] Speaker A: He just yells, you, buddy.
[01:15:27] Speaker B: It's like we said at this point, Kyle O'Reilly is just wrenched.
[01:15:32] Speaker A: Oh my God.
[01:15:33] Speaker B: He's a head to knee and rips it.
[01:15:38] Speaker A: Like right after this they go to do like the head in the chair, like neck break spot that the Death Riders do.
And like they have Kyle O'Reilly in that for only a couple of seconds.
And like he eventually like manages to get out. But you can still see just like the pool of blood that he dripped like on the chair. It's just like. Yeah, it was nasty.
[01:16:03] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they set up that chair to do the bit around Kyle O'Reilly's neck, like you're saying. But Orange Cassidy pops in with his hands still stapled in his pockets, which he then pulls free and kind of fights him out of that. We get outside and Mark superplexes Yuta off of the side of the cage. Not all the way off at the top through the table on the outside.
Inside, people are just bouncing off of. None of these tables are breaking outside of the ones outside.
There is some kind of spell where when a table enters this double cage, it suddenly becomes all but invulnerable.
[01:16:40] Speaker C: Yeah. Tables get, get double HP in, in blood and guts matches, I guess.
[01:16:45] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. That's the new rule.
[01:16:50] Speaker B: So, yeah, Orange Cassidy goes for the orange punch, but Claudio stops him. Roddy throws somebody through a table. I generally like Hedgehog keeping track at this point because stuff started coming so fast and furious.
[01:17:01] Speaker A: Yeah. That people just start bouncing off table.
[01:17:04] Speaker B: You know, Orange does hit the orange punch onto Moxley, which Kyle then catches Moxley off of it into the, into the ankle lock. And they have a great, like little submission exchange back and forth here. Going from the bully choke into like the arm bar. Kyle is just floating them all over. Finally, Kyle gets the knee bar on Jon Moxley, locks it in perfectly and taps him out.
And I jump off my couch and fear because it was. Yeah, yeah.
[01:17:35] Speaker A: That was so cool that they ended a blood and guts match with just beautiful, perfect, simple chain wrestling. Was like, yeah. Oh, it's great.
[01:17:46] Speaker B: And Kyle O'Reilly has been so elevated by these last, like this match and the weeks. Like we talk about a lot how Moxley has really like turned into this elevated machine. Like, yeah, he is such a selfless wrestler who is made like Hangman Darby Looking. Kyle O'Reilly Everybody who has touched him has come out looking better.
[01:18:07] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[01:18:08] Speaker A: Which is kind of what like in character and like in gimmick is he's kind of wanted to do. Right. Is to kind of like bring out the quote unquote.
[01:18:20] Speaker B: Yeah. That's his whole thing is he's there to like. Yeah.
[01:18:23] Speaker A: And like.
[01:18:24] Speaker B: Yeah. He's exactly what he set out to do.
[01:18:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Which is like great story stuff. Yeah.
[01:18:30] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, we talk about Hangman being the ace of AW. Max is really like probably the heart and soul of this company.
Yeah.
[01:18:37] Speaker C: Mox is what Jericho thought he was.
[01:18:40] Speaker A: And wishes he was.
[01:18:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Religion and has just made it into such a better product, like from top to bottom.
[01:18:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:18:51] Speaker B: We close it out with all the faces except Darby cheering in the ring. I honest, I think the women's was slightly better, but I. It's like a 10 versus 9.5 to me. It's.
[01:19:01] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:19:01] Speaker B: Marginal. The difference normally when like there's like, you know, a men and women's royal Rumble or something like that, I could usually pick one out that's like, oh, this year this one did much better. And this one's kind of bad. No, these were both fantastic.
[01:19:14] Speaker A: Yeah, they're.
[01:19:15] Speaker C: Yeah, all three matches were great.
It was a great wrestling night.
[01:19:22] Speaker A: It was.
[01:19:22] Speaker B: Yeah. It was just a fun show. Like, I had such a blast.
Like, I always like Dynamite. I always had fun. But there's just, there's nothing even to like nitpick here.
[01:19:32] Speaker A: Yeah, no, this, this, this was a great show, top to bottom. And it didn't feel like it was two and a half hours, which.
No, you know, which was awesome. Even if there was only three matches.
[01:19:45] Speaker B: It was actually a little. It ended up being a little over two and a half. Like when I was watching live, it didn't get done until in like 1040 or something like that. It was as long as some pay per views that.
[01:19:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:19:56] Speaker B: Yeah. Bye.
[01:19:59] Speaker A: Oh, it's probably not gonna fly by.
[01:20:02] Speaker B: I know. Next week.
[01:20:04] Speaker A: Next week, three hours go home show.
[01:20:11] Speaker B: We talked about it before and I get, like I said, I get why the network wants a pre show that they can broadcast for the pay per view so they got something on tv.
I really miss when it was just a normal dynamite and then a YouTube one hour buy in before the pay per view. Yeah. They just skip collision for the week.
[01:20:32] Speaker A: Yep. So looking forward to more wrestling.
[01:20:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Worst thing going on. My life has got too much pro wrestling. Things are going pretty good. Yeah.
[01:20:41] Speaker A: Yeah. That's a good problem to have.
But we will, we will cross that Bridge next week for the go home show for full gear.
Coming up in about a week. Topanga. Where can folks find you, follow you, learn more about you.
Anything you want to plug.
[01:21:01] Speaker C: I mean, there's lots of places I'm not gonna share that. You could, but don't.
But blue skies where I'm at most often. Topanga Rainbows, BSGuy Social.
I'm still occasionally other places, but not really enough that it's worth it.
And yeah.
[01:21:23] Speaker B: What I said. I'm the same way. That's the only thing where I actually use it.
[01:21:28] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:21:28] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:21:29] Speaker B: I have a TikTok I don't use if anybody wants to follow that.
[01:21:33] Speaker C: Yep. And then I'm trying. Trying to get out on more commentary gigs and hope that people can catch me there soon.
[01:21:40] Speaker A: Yes, we will blast this all around. If anybody needs somebody for commentary, you know who to hit up.
[01:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:21:49] Speaker C: Especially in this Midwest. I can drive. I. I travel. I'm good.
[01:21:54] Speaker B: Yes. And you'll be back. Popping back up on this show. As I say, everyone's scheduled. I'm sorry. We love having you as a guest. This was.
[01:22:01] Speaker A: Yes. Thank you for coming on.
[01:22:02] Speaker B: It was great.
[01:22:03] Speaker C: Glad to be here.
[01:22:04] Speaker A: It's a lot of fun and we.
[01:22:05] Speaker B: Thank all of you for listening. Across the world, around the world.
It's like we're in your house with you.
[01:22:16] Speaker A: We'll see you next week.
[01:22:18] Speaker B: On a creepy night.
[01:22:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:22:19] Speaker B: Every wrestling. Sleep tight. We'll be watching.
[01:22:25] Speaker A: Wrestling.
Put that yam bag in the hall of fame.
