[00:00:00] Speaker A: Hey everyone. Piper Willow here. I want to start off this episode of Wednesday night Fake Fights by apologizing to our loyal fans and listeners for being absent these last few weeks. Garak, our humble podcast and recording studio host up and left with narrow warning or indication. And we've been podcastless and studio less and podcast studio less here for a little bit. Erica, Jeff and myself all got together to watch all in live on pay per view at the local Dave and Busters. And when we returned from our excursion, we found the studio boarded up, the blinds shuttered and a door to a moving truck with clones portation transportation plastered on the side getting slammed shut with Garak blowing us a kiss like a certain Pepsi loving turncoat. The ship, she drove off into the sunset. All that was left was this weird device thing that I found on the ground. Some letters are scuffed up from it falling, but I think it says clone beacon. I really have no clue what's up with all this clone stuff. Hold on. It's beeping. There's directions. I gotta look into this, y'. All. I'll check in with you soon. Thanks for being patient. Enjoy the episode. I gotta go. [00:01:27] Speaker B: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void. But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling. And with that there was Monday. And wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages. On the second day, God got depressed and lo did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday. On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her. We know what that means. [00:02:16] Speaker C: And we're back. Hey everybody. Welcome to another Wednesday night Fake fights where we go over everything. Aew, I'm Jeff the Toki Mongoose here with my ever present, ever wonderful co host Hyper Willow. [00:02:30] Speaker A: She it back yet again to talks about wrestling. [00:02:34] Speaker C: Back in the saddle again. [00:02:36] Speaker B: And also Erica Warrens is here. She then somehow she's here. She's queer and holy. Everything sucks. But not wrestling. Or does it? [00:02:52] Speaker A: We are back. We're back. Things are a little up in the air right now. Thanks to Jeff's mongoose scavenging skills. We managed to find some old recording equipment out the back of a dumpster. [00:03:09] Speaker C: I dig away. I dig in a take. [00:03:11] Speaker A: We are currently. We are currently stationed outside the shoneys off i9. Things are rough right now. [00:03:18] Speaker C: Not even the good Shoneys. [00:03:20] Speaker A: It's not even the good Shoneys. [00:03:21] Speaker B: It's not. It's not the Scott Steiner Shoneys. [00:03:24] Speaker C: No, we wish. I think that's in Georgia. If it still exists. [00:03:29] Speaker A: It does not, unfortunately. [00:03:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:03:31] Speaker A: Last I heard it had to close. [00:03:33] Speaker B: I like that. [00:03:34] Speaker C: You know, I don't know why that disappoints me so much. [00:03:38] Speaker B: Keep an eye on Scott Snyder showedies. How's it doing? [00:03:41] Speaker C: Big Papa Pope's not middle managing a crappy chain restaurant anymore. [00:03:45] Speaker A: No, I've looked it up fairly recently because of course I have it closed down I believe due to Covid situations. [00:03:57] Speaker C: Another victim of wokeness. [00:03:58] Speaker A: Right. [00:03:59] Speaker B: There's woke freaks at perk and shut me down. [00:04:03] Speaker A: They're fat asses those eating pl sums. [00:04:09] Speaker B: Of is it you open, you got Shoney's and then you open a Perkins and then across the street you open a Denny. [00:04:16] Speaker C: My Shoney has a 33.3 chance successive. [00:04:19] Speaker A: Chance of survival and Denny's nose doesn't have a chance about serving me. [00:04:24] Speaker C: You put my sh up against angle Shoney already starting off. Talk about an entirely different wrestling promotion. [00:04:35] Speaker B: I think we've just completely jumped the shark, you know. But it's been a while. [00:04:41] Speaker A: It's been a while. We gotta get our our wrestling legs back under us. But no, we're here, we're back, we're chatting. Aw. As we always do with the dynamite of. [00:04:54] Speaker C: What was it? The 7:30. [00:04:56] Speaker A: 7:30? [00:04:57] Speaker B: It starts at 8:00', clock, actually. July 30, 2025. [00:05:03] Speaker C: July 30. I was trying to. I was looking at the calendar thing. I'm like seven. What month is that? Crap, I should know. [00:05:11] Speaker A: It's the month it's been for the last month. [00:05:14] Speaker B: Last 30 days. [00:05:17] Speaker C: We're what, two weeks out from all in now? [00:05:20] Speaker A: Oh really? [00:05:22] Speaker B: Actually to the third week. [00:05:24] Speaker C: Oh yeah. Time flies. [00:05:25] Speaker A: I thought you were saying two weeks out from the next pay per view. And then I was like one. It's not all in two. Yeah, you're right. Forbidden doors in like less than two weeks. Which is wild. [00:05:37] Speaker C: Yeah. Starting off with sexy Excalibur running everything down. The man in the mask. [00:05:41] Speaker A: Yes. He gives us the the high low of what to expect for the evening. Before we cut right to the the first match. No introductions, no nothing. For the local talent, it is Nick and Matt Jackson, Young bucks versus the outrunners. [00:06:00] Speaker B: It fits. Because I still can't tell them apart. [00:06:03] Speaker C: You don't need to anymore. They're just jobbers. [00:06:06] Speaker B: They're just. [00:06:06] Speaker C: They did. They did a great job. Going from like the video package to just showing the bucks in the ring, adding the Jobber entrance. It's like, they're really. I'm loving this little fall from grace gimmick they're doing. [00:06:17] Speaker B: Yeah. This is. This is a step up from just like, you're poor now, kind of thing you to like, rich characters. This is like, all right, you were up here, now you're down here. Now we're gonna with you. [00:06:30] Speaker A: Yeah. Which everybody does all throughout the night. [00:06:32] Speaker C: Oh, constant. [00:06:33] Speaker B: Keep all your money, keep your talent, or even you're fine. You can get your title matches. But you. [00:06:41] Speaker C: I love that they just got the template, like Chiron, where it just said talent, social media and stats. Like, nobody even bothered to put their names into it. [00:06:50] Speaker A: That was really good. I like that I'm vindicated by Excalibur also not being able to tell them apart. [00:06:59] Speaker C: Yeah. They were talking about that. I was like, maybe I have a superpower. Like the only one who could tell the Jacksons apart. [00:07:05] Speaker B: They've been friends for years. Decades. [00:07:08] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:08] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. They work together constantly, literally, their careers intertwined. [00:07:14] Speaker A: I'm not the only one. And that's gonna help me sleep tonight. [00:07:21] Speaker C: But as I say, it was. I thought this was a very fun match. The outrunners are coming together very well. [00:07:27] Speaker B: They're growing on me. [00:07:29] Speaker A: This match, I think, did a really great job of kind of pulling everything from the tag team wrestling playbook. [00:07:35] Speaker C: It was very, like, old school structured, but with, like, young bucks, high spots. [00:07:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:07:40] Speaker B: Yes. [00:07:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, you had great saves, interruptions, rough distraction spots. [00:07:48] Speaker C: They built to like the hot tags really well. [00:07:50] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Outrunners are great at the hot tag. [00:07:54] Speaker C: They really are. It was. I always. I get them mixed up. I can't tell them apart. I think it's. I wrote it down. Turbo Floyd. Turbo Floyd is a hot tag. That guy is amazing. [00:08:04] Speaker B: They had their names on their tights tonight. [00:08:07] Speaker C: That, yeah, that did help. But now looking back, and they're glad they still are repping the Newport Gear. Yeah. [00:08:14] Speaker B: Taz was marked out for the new. [00:08:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:16] Speaker C: Un. [00:08:16] Speaker A: Tess. [00:08:18] Speaker C: Yeah. Taz throughout. This was pretty good too. Say it's one point he says he's only. He became friends with the outrunners because they won the hundred thousand dollars in tag match. But yeah, I think I really want to see. And I mean, they had this great match with the Bucks. The hour understood us. They had the great match with ftr, which are two teams that have amazing matches. Like their gimmicks there. I'm very curious to see if they can really, like, carry this role on with maybe some less amazing talent. I Don't you know, not trying to denigrate anybody else, but. [00:08:50] Speaker A: No, no. [00:08:51] Speaker C: I see how much of it's coming from the other side. [00:08:53] Speaker A: Right. [00:08:54] Speaker C: And they put the work in. They've been doing fantastic with it. But I wonder how much of its like, layout. [00:08:59] Speaker B: I like that they've been steadily growing their. Their moveset like. Yeah. [00:09:06] Speaker C: Doing some cool new stuff. [00:09:07] Speaker B: Yep. Turbo got the Northern Lights bomb. That was cool. [00:09:10] Speaker C: Yeah, that was sick. [00:09:11] Speaker B: Like, he did like he hit that good. That was very nicely done. [00:09:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:09:15] Speaker B: They're a modern team doing old school stuff. They don't. And they're not just like deliberately like. Well, all we can do is punch, kick, drop kick. [00:09:22] Speaker C: Yeah, they're blending it very well. [00:09:25] Speaker B: They have. Yeah. Like they've got. There's. It's clicking. It's clicking for me. [00:09:30] Speaker C: If there was always a fun gimmick, like it was always amusing, it was always over. I love the. You son of a. Elbow drop. But they've really been putting it together as like actually being contenders and not just looking like the funny jobbers that were on Ring of Honor. [00:09:44] Speaker B: Right. [00:09:45] Speaker A: They're. They're growing, but unfortunately you're not going to get to see them grow anymore here in this tag team tournament. [00:09:53] Speaker C: Yeah. Which I think is probably the right move. I mean. Yeah, they just faced off against the Hurt Syndicate and got completely squashed. Like we don't really need to see. Nobody really even needs to humor that being run back at the pay per view. There's more stories to be told, I think with the Bucks versus like Bandido and Brody or Gates of Agony. [00:10:13] Speaker B: Right. [00:10:14] Speaker A: Plus the possibility of young bucks versus FTR 19 is they always have good. [00:10:22] Speaker C: Matches, even if it's been kind of like overdone. [00:10:25] Speaker B: I don't know about always, but like, I know I can forgive that that first all in match because. [00:10:31] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:10:32] Speaker B: Of backstage incidents of the like. [00:10:35] Speaker C: Yeah, that's fair. [00:10:37] Speaker B: But I don't know. I don't think they had a really great tag match since before all in. [00:10:45] Speaker C: Yeah, that's probably. [00:10:46] Speaker B: Which was like the third one. Like the first and second match were very good. [00:10:50] Speaker C: Yeah, those were excellent. And then. Yeah, it really did get kind of just like a worn out concept after a while. I don't think anybody wanted to see it again for a while. Yeah, I don't think we're going to see that as the final in the tournament though. I think it's going to be either Brody and Bandido versus FTR or Bang Bang Gang versus the Bucks. I think it's going to be Since FDR and Bucks are both kind of fully on that heel side right now. [00:11:15] Speaker B: Right. [00:11:15] Speaker C: And then probably whoever out of that is the heel team will I think win because I feel like they're trying to hurt syndicate a lot more face. [00:11:23] Speaker B: Yeah, that would definitely come into play pretty soon. [00:11:26] Speaker C: Would be nice if we had some like outside teams for a forbid indoor tag tournament, but what can you do? [00:11:34] Speaker A: But Bucks win. I did like that. Justin Roberts after they got their victory. Just very, very quickly, ladies and gentlemen, your winner, Nick and Matt. [00:11:48] Speaker C: He sold it. It was great. That's what I love about. They really are just hitting like every level with this gimmick. Like people can hate on the Bucks, but they understand wrestling to like such an almost molecular level. [00:12:01] Speaker B: Right. And the, the, the layer to it is just that like everybody hates them. [00:12:08] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:12:09] Speaker B: Like it's not just, it's not just like the baby faces are picking on them. The heels are all picking on them. [00:12:14] Speaker C: Too because the, the ring announcer's picking on him. [00:12:17] Speaker B: Ring announcers picking on him. The refs are picking on them. [00:12:20] Speaker C: Everybody but Taz. [00:12:21] Speaker B: Yeah, Taz. Taz feels bad for him, which is. [00:12:25] Speaker C: Pret of adorable actually. [00:12:27] Speaker B: What did he say? It's like, I'm getting a bad, I'm feeling a bad run from you guys. [00:12:31] Speaker C: Yeah, well, the Bucks. Yeah, the Bucks came over to yell at Tony and at the team and he's like, come on, you guys are giving me a bad rub with the Bucks. [00:12:37] Speaker B: Who's the jobbers now? You are. [00:12:42] Speaker A: Bad Rub Jones. [00:12:44] Speaker B: Bad Rub Jones. [00:12:48] Speaker A: But Bucks start putting. Actually, no, they don't try putting the boots. [00:12:53] Speaker C: Yeah, not, not yet. [00:12:55] Speaker A: Okada comes out and then they start. Yes. [00:13:00] Speaker C: I love Okada. Like just stooing on the way down to the ring too. I just. He is the, the funniest dude. [00:13:06] Speaker B: I'm coming to be a bastard, my friends. [00:13:10] Speaker C: Let's be dicks. [00:13:12] Speaker A: The thumbs up. Clapping. They start stomping and beating up outrunners. Swerve. Comes out for the save. Gives hands to Okada, the Bucks at all. [00:13:23] Speaker C: And true Floyd hits a big ass backdrop suplex on Okada too. Which, yeah, I say I did not. [00:13:31] Speaker B: Expect that Kings Road on him with that. [00:13:35] Speaker C: What am I doing, boss? Which I guess I don't know if the outrunner should be quite getting offense on Okada. I mean, I guess in the situation and stuff, but it felt a little like, okay, that might be me. [00:13:50] Speaker A: It was triple team. [00:13:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm gonna be a little nitpicky there. I just love my boy, Big Kazu. [00:14:00] Speaker A: We cut To Mark Briscoe, batch stage, who is immediately interrupted by his opponent for the evening. Ricochet. [00:14:07] Speaker C: He doesn't get started. [00:14:09] Speaker A: Yeah, there's a lot of that this evening. [00:14:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Nobody actually gets, like, a full, like, interview or even, like, the start of one, really. [00:14:16] Speaker A: There's a lot of beatdowns, saves and interviews and promos getting interrupted. [00:14:23] Speaker C: Yeah. But I am happy to see. I love Ricochet and the Goats of Agony. I almost said the Gates of Agony. Goa. They are really good. I don't know if they're the Goats of anything yet, but they're very good tag team. [00:14:35] Speaker B: They're really trying to get that Goa over. [00:14:38] Speaker C: Yeah, they don't say Gates of Agony anymore. I think that's where I got Goats of Agony, because I was thinking Goa and just combined it in my ad there. [00:14:45] Speaker A: I could see them eventually embracing something like that. [00:14:49] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, that does seem possible. I could see Ricochet calling them that and it being like. Yeah, a nickname or something. [00:14:54] Speaker A: That's a very Ricochet thing to do. [00:14:56] Speaker C: The Coats of Agony. That's a hard laugh to do. Damn. [00:15:02] Speaker A: Yeah, he's a talented man. He's the pro, not just in the ring, but vocally as well. [00:15:08] Speaker C: Yeah. They're got a match tonight, and Ricochet is just being a dick, and. [00:15:13] Speaker A: Yep, he's being Ricochet. [00:15:15] Speaker C: Yeah. I do like that Mark Briscoe's acting more serious, though. I know that's like, a story thing that comes up more. But this was kind of like the first little. He really wasn't like, that goofy. He's just, like, talking about how much he wants to kill mjf. [00:15:27] Speaker B: Right. He really wants to kill mjf, which. [00:15:31] Speaker A: Is a through line to later in the show that we will get to. [00:15:36] Speaker C: One thing I liked at the end of this, too, is when they were walking away, you just hear Ricochet go. And you ugly, like, laughs again. Just kind of to himself as he's walking away. Like, just such. I know it's been said before, but just, like, such a crazy good gimmick reinvention for somebody who was known as not being, like, a character person or a charisma person. [00:15:57] Speaker B: As a move guy. [00:15:59] Speaker C: Yeah, we just pulled it together. [00:16:01] Speaker B: Yeah, He's a complete package. [00:16:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:16:04] Speaker C: Honestly, I would say one of the most entertaining heels in, like, professional wrestling today. [00:16:10] Speaker A: Another entertaining heel, Mr. MJF, is backstage. And now I gotta come clean to the two of you and the listeners at home. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Okay. [00:16:24] Speaker A: I ain't watched the last two weeks of Dynamite. Yeah, things have been a little busy. We've Been dealing with things. What happened with Bob? What happened with Bob. [00:16:37] Speaker C: They're all just sick of mjf. [00:16:39] Speaker B: All right, so the rundown was who I think who brought them out? [00:16:48] Speaker C: I'm trying to remember the logistics of it. [00:16:51] Speaker B: There was. Oh, who brought them out? [00:16:54] Speaker C: Oh, it was Copeland. [00:16:55] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. Okay. So yeah, Adam Copeland hired them. Was going was. He was having a thing with FTR and like he can't. His. The. They have like, you know, the whole restraining order gimmick on them. So he said, I can't go in there and beat you all up, but these guys can. And he did. [00:17:15] Speaker C: Yeah, it's their business. [00:17:17] Speaker B: So their business is hurting people. So MJF was like, we didn't talk about that. Why would you go help him? He's like, it was a business decision. And then Bobby gave him the thumbs down. Kicked him out. [00:17:28] Speaker C: Yeah, MJF was just being like a about it. It was in their face and yelling. Be like, you're supposed to be helping me. You know, it's been building mjf. Yeah, I know. Our beloved Bro Trot. Yeah. Bobby's fed up. He gave him the thumbs down. Mvp, like they said, is gone this week because he's disgusted. [00:17:51] Speaker A: Yes. We learned that it is not only Bobby that is fed up with mjf. Both MVP and Shelton Benjamin pleased. Are not happy with him. Nor his bootleg Teemu Rolexes. And they kick. They kick his low heel ass out to the curb. [00:18:10] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, MVP still has not given the official thumbs down. [00:18:14] Speaker A: Oh, true, true. [00:18:15] Speaker C: So there's still a bit. But it's. It was the right move for the story. People want to cheer the Hurt Syndicate. They should be at least on the face side of Tweener like. And MJF does not. It was a fun little diversion, don't get me wrong. But it's. It's run its course. [00:18:31] Speaker B: Yeah, that's where I'm landing on it. They're turning them face because people just want to cheer for them. [00:18:36] Speaker C: Yeah. And. And say. Say that we hurt people. Which is it? [00:18:39] Speaker A: Yeah, you gotta give the people what they want. [00:18:42] Speaker C: Yeah. But Shallow gave a great promo here. I really was kind of like, oh, he can deliver. You know, acting wise too. But he said he was gonna leave MJF laying in a pool of his own piss. And I was like, God damn shout. [00:18:55] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:55] Speaker B: Get his ass bends again. [00:18:57] Speaker C: Yeah, that's a tie. That is a genuinely intense. [00:19:03] Speaker A: Unbelievable too. [00:19:04] Speaker B: It's like, where did that come from, man? Damn. [00:19:07] Speaker C: Yeah. If anybody could beat you so bad, you're laying in a pool of your own piss. That's about Shelton Benjamin. [00:19:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:12] Speaker A: With the help of Bobby Lashley. [00:19:14] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:19:15] Speaker B: They're terrifying. [00:19:17] Speaker C: Yeah, it was a good little site and it's moving stuff along. I'm happy for it. [00:19:21] Speaker A: And the next interview promo, what have you of the evening. Is Tony Schiavone and Christian Cage out in the ring? [00:19:31] Speaker C: Yeah, Town hall. [00:19:33] Speaker A: Christian's been going through it. [00:19:36] Speaker C: Yeah, that's. You probably missed that too, with the patriarchy turning against him and all that. [00:19:42] Speaker A: I saw it at the pay per view and I kind of. [00:19:44] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, that is. Yeah, yeah. It's just. And there hasn't been too much since then. [00:19:47] Speaker A: Yeah, I kind of have gathered that. I do think this is my Taz of the night. The first thing Christian really says is, my name is Christian Cage and I am an Taz. Just chimes in, that's a shoe. [00:20:05] Speaker C: That was a good one. [00:20:07] Speaker A: Excalibur as well. True words have never been spoken. [00:20:11] Speaker C: I. I'm in bibbling on. I love Christian, but this whole story turn feels a little weird to me. [00:20:19] Speaker B: Get where it's going? [00:20:21] Speaker C: No, I mean I get. [00:20:22] Speaker B: I get the end goal, but it's like this was like a huge heel promo. [00:20:28] Speaker C: Yeah. And then the patriarchy attacks him and they get a heal reaction. Like everyone's just sucks. There's nobody I'm behind here. [00:20:37] Speaker A: Like, it's a. Like you said, it's a very hero promo. It's a very weird promo. Like. Yeah, he's like. He's stumbling through. Through the whole thing and he keeps. [00:20:46] Speaker C: Doing that like I'm conducting business thing every time he up, which he's done before and I think is like an amusing little thing. But he had to do it like five times throughout this. [00:20:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Like the crowd wasn't really biting on it as the more that he did it. And it was. It was very rambling, I would call it. That's how I would define it. [00:21:06] Speaker C: He kept doing it when there was no. Nobody was saying anything and he'd stop and say it. [00:21:12] Speaker A: That's what I thought. It was like somebody was like not getting picked up by like the crowd mic or something. [00:21:16] Speaker C: Yeah, there was somebody like yelling at him throughout the promo. But like there's one dude in the crowd in particular I could tell was like almost getting like laughs and stuff off of it that they kind of had mike down. But he never said it after that guy said any. He would just say it like at a silent point. It's like, you all right there, Christian? [00:21:34] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:21:34] Speaker A: It was just really awkward. [00:21:35] Speaker B: Yeah. It's like, you okay? [00:21:38] Speaker C: I did, like, when he, like, he kind of took the mic from Tony and then he just gave it back to Tony. He's like, you can hold the mic. It's your job. Like that. That was pretty funny. [00:21:46] Speaker B: I don't think he even knew what he was gonna do with this promo. Like, he knew what he had to do, but I don't think he's quite sure. [00:21:54] Speaker A: Like, yeah. [00:21:55] Speaker B: Where his character's going. Because, like, I don't know where his character's going. He probably knew that, like, as soon as he starts talking about Mother Wayne having a gigantic vagina that was gonna. [00:22:05] Speaker C: Lose people, he got real sexual. And that's. At one point, like, just kind. [00:22:09] Speaker A: I did. [00:22:10] Speaker C: Yeah. At one point, it's just like, I came. It's like a really big pause. [00:22:17] Speaker A: I beat him, right? [00:22:19] Speaker C: Yeah. I beat him, right. It was weird. [00:22:24] Speaker B: I. I don't. I don't. I think he had something planned, and it didn't pan out. [00:22:28] Speaker C: Yeah, it just. It went on so long. [00:22:34] Speaker B: And, like, he's the. He got really weird because when he. He's trying to be like Adam, we're so different, but we're not that different. [00:22:43] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:44] Speaker B: What. [00:22:45] Speaker C: I just don't get what they're doing with Coping. Like, to me, the move would have been to have Coke turn heel and join up with Christian's heels and turn Nick and Kip face against them. [00:22:56] Speaker B: Right. [00:22:57] Speaker C: But it. They didn't do that. Yeah, they've got this weird transitional thing. Like, they don't want to make Cope a bad guy, so they're just doing this odd half turn with Christian. [00:23:08] Speaker B: But then, like, Nick. Nick is. Nick and Kip are, like, very obviously the faces. Compared to everything that Christian has done. [00:23:15] Speaker A: To them, like, it seems real easy to turn, cope, face, or. Excuse me, turn cope, heel, join him up with Christian, do, like, this last glory run where they're doing all their hits with, you know, like, early Edge in Christian days. People are still going to cheer for it. [00:23:31] Speaker C: Yeah, they were. He. They were a heel tag team back then. That's exactly. [00:23:35] Speaker A: They can quote, unquote, be heels, and people will still, like, cheer for them. [00:23:38] Speaker C: Come out in the dumb sunglasses, giant. [00:23:42] Speaker B: Foam cowboy hat shirts. [00:23:44] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. [00:23:45] Speaker A: Let the young guys, like, end up become the faces springboard off of this, and, you know, everybody would have been happy. [00:23:52] Speaker B: But this. [00:23:53] Speaker A: It just feels sloppy and, like, Cope's. [00:23:55] Speaker C: Right for a heel turn. He's. He had a fun face run like that Come in. We're really excited to have you. And he did good with it. But, like, you can tell the air's coming out of the tires on that. Like, how's it strike one. You guys could be, like, the hottest heel team and really be, like, the bad guys of that division for a while. [00:24:12] Speaker B: Yep. [00:24:13] Speaker A: Especially if the supposed idea is to turn your champ's face. [00:24:21] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, that would be. I mean, a heel. Christian and Edge versus even the Earth Syndicate would be a fantastic match. That'd be a pay per view match. [00:24:27] Speaker B: I like to see it. [00:24:28] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. Nick and Kip come out after. What was it like? Mama Wayne distracted him. [00:24:33] Speaker A: I think she came out to distract. She came out while Christian was walking back, distracted him. He turned around because he heard Kip coming. Turned back around, gets jumped with the belt from Nick Wayne. They beat him up. They gave him a big old concerto. [00:24:48] Speaker C: Yeah. The standing concerto, which I'm not the biggest fan of. It just doesn't look very good. [00:24:53] Speaker A: Sounded good, though. [00:24:54] Speaker C: It does sound good, but you can clearly see, like, no connection at all, which it's not, obviously. It's wrestling, you know. [00:25:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:02] Speaker C: The ground is a bit more of the illusion. [00:25:04] Speaker B: I've gotta re. Watch it. But it's. It seemed like they. They did it from an angle where it was very obviously missing compared to, like, the ones from the 2000s, where it really looked like they were murdering people. [00:25:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:25:19] Speaker A: Well, I've got some bad news for you, Erica. [00:25:23] Speaker C: They were. [00:25:25] Speaker B: I mean, they weren't always just, like, fully connecting. Sure. Like unprotected headshots. [00:25:31] Speaker C: No, but it's. The illusion's better on the ground. You can make that connection and it looks like it's hitting, even though it's just like triangling over their head. When you do it standing like that, you get this just wedge where it's clearly, like, connecting behind the head, which I'm sure is still loud and sucks, but. [00:25:47] Speaker A: Well, you said. Exactly. That's the. That's the secret of the concerto is because it's not actually the impact of the chairs hitting the head. It's the. The eardrums being ruptured by the two chairs hitting together. Hence the concerto pun. [00:25:59] Speaker C: Oh, it's music. Yeah. [00:26:01] Speaker A: That's what I learned in music school. And that's actually it. [00:26:05] Speaker C: That's the only thing you got out of the degree, was how the concerto works. Thank you, college. [00:26:11] Speaker A: Thanks, college. [00:26:13] Speaker C: Nick does get, like, a lot of heat off this, though. The crowds chanting you, Nick, and stuff like that. [00:26:18] Speaker A: I mean, he's yelling that he disowns Christian. [00:26:21] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:26:21] Speaker B: Well, Christian disowned him first. [00:26:23] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. [00:26:24] Speaker B: I'm not said you have one dead father and now a father that's dead to you. [00:26:28] Speaker C: You can't break up with me. I'm breaking up with you. And I mean, I don't know, Nick. I think just be a face. He's got high flying offense. People like him. It's just any. I don't know. He's not that intimidating enough to be like a heel guy. [00:26:41] Speaker A: He's truly a baby face. [00:26:43] Speaker C: Yeah. He really is. [00:26:44] Speaker B: He's literally a baby face. Yeah. [00:26:46] Speaker C: He's a cute little man. Could probably kick the out of me. [00:26:51] Speaker A: A bunch of other gentlemen that could kick the out of you. Jeff. [00:26:53] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [00:26:54] Speaker A: Are. [00:26:56] Speaker C: That's pretty much everybody on this show. [00:26:58] Speaker A: Are ftr and I was. [00:27:00] Speaker C: And Stokely. [00:27:01] Speaker A: Probably Stoke. [00:27:03] Speaker B: Probably Stoke. [00:27:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:05] Speaker B: I don't know. I don't know. [00:27:07] Speaker A: He's injured right now, so you might have a chance. [00:27:09] Speaker C: Yeah. That's probably the only one. Stoke is a wrestler. Like I. He's a manager. But he trained in wrestling. I can't run for five minutes. [00:27:17] Speaker B: He's. He's inherited. He's inherited the. The Bobby Heenan Jimmy Hart legacy of like he goes from wrestler to a manager. He's become weak. That's true. [00:27:28] Speaker C: And he is injured. [00:27:29] Speaker A: Jimmy Hart permeates all past, present, and future of wrestling. [00:27:33] Speaker B: Yeah, Daddy. [00:27:37] Speaker C: He's here right now. [00:27:39] Speaker B: He is. I had to look over my shoulder just now. [00:27:41] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:42] Speaker B: I was like, I'm sorry, Jim. I'm sorry. [00:27:43] Speaker A: Jimmy, are you at the Shoney with us right now? [00:27:48] Speaker B: Real science is har died. I need some. [00:27:55] Speaker A: Give me number eight to soothe my weeping soul. [00:28:02] Speaker C: I don't have no money. [00:28:05] Speaker B: The beer didn't do turn out so good. [00:28:11] Speaker C: Put all my money in there. [00:28:12] Speaker B: Daddy Paul won't let it come back because we got booed. [00:28:19] Speaker C: Sorry, Jimmy. [00:28:23] Speaker B: No sorry for derailing. We can make fun of Jimmy Hart. [00:28:27] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:28:27] Speaker A: Which is why the derailment's fine. If it's at the expense of Jimmy Hart. There is no wrong to be done. [00:28:36] Speaker C: Yeah. We're backstage with FDR and stoically. Who could kick the out. [00:28:39] Speaker A: They talk about stuff. Bucks come up. They has handshake and say, we're. We'll. We'll see you soon. And cordial. You know, that's. [00:28:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:49] Speaker C: They really didn't get nobody really that like too mad at each other. They're still playing nice for now. So the best part was the after FDR walks off and Stokely goes up to the Bucks like, you Guys aren't the bosses anymore, are you? And they're like, no. And he's fake scary like booze. [00:29:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Wanted to do that. [00:29:08] Speaker C: That's what he's been waiting. That's his big you. To his bosses, he's just going, blah. [00:29:13] Speaker A: Which, again, is like, everybody is disrespecting the bucks tonight. [00:29:16] Speaker B: It's great. Yeah. Even. Even their heel buddies are just, like, actually, guys, off. Yeah. [00:29:22] Speaker C: I've said it before, but Stokely is, like, lowkey. One of the best signings AEW did. He fills such a great role, and he just does it so well. Every time I see a dude on tv, I'm happy. [00:29:33] Speaker A: I just wish we saw more of him. [00:29:34] Speaker B: Yeah, well, he's kind of short, so. [00:29:38] Speaker C: Gotta angle the camera down. [00:29:39] Speaker B: Oh, if he hears this, he's gonna be mad. [00:29:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I think. I think he could take Jeff and Eric. I'm sorry. I think he could take you as well. [00:29:48] Speaker B: I. No, I don't cry. I got a black belt. [00:29:50] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. That's right. Okay. Book it. Forbidden Door. [00:29:58] Speaker B: I'll wear my. I wear my old gi. Like Eric Bischoff. [00:30:02] Speaker C: There we go. [00:30:02] Speaker A: Exactly. [00:30:03] Speaker C: We got Ernest the Cat Miller in your cor. Yeah. That was a fun segment. I'm short. Did its job. Yep. [00:30:13] Speaker A: Holy. The championship match is number two on the card. [00:30:15] Speaker C: Yeah. I thought this would be the main event. I was kind of surprised it wasn't. [00:30:19] Speaker A: So was I. I think they were. [00:30:21] Speaker B: Trying to pop a rating, but. Yeah, like, in the second hour. [00:30:25] Speaker C: But it was top of the first hour. Yeah. [00:30:27] Speaker B: Yeah, it was. But I don't know. [00:30:29] Speaker C: We'll get into it, but, like, I haven't. I'm not complaining. There was nothing. [00:30:32] Speaker A: No. [00:30:33] Speaker B: With that match, I don't think it. [00:30:34] Speaker A: Messed up the pacing of the rest of the show. At. [00:30:37] Speaker C: Yeah, actually, once it got into it and got through, I was like, oh, that worked. It was just like a cool, like. [00:30:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:30:41] Speaker C: Peak and. But kept going after that. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Just a great television championship match. [00:30:47] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:30:48] Speaker A: Imagine that. Those two guys can put on a good match. [00:30:51] Speaker C: Yeah. Again and again and again. [00:30:52] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. John Moxley sucks now. [00:30:56] Speaker C: I mean, I even said when we were talking before that it's like, I don't really know why they're doing this again, but I was proven pretty wrong. Like, I can. [00:31:04] Speaker B: I. I can tell you why they did it again, why they figured it out. I did my research. So the reason they did this again is they. Before all in, they had wrestled four times, and they'd split the series. [00:31:17] Speaker C: Okay. [00:31:17] Speaker B: And every time they had alternated. So Hangman won at all in. So Mox is like the way that the series goes. I'm gonna take the second one because Hangman hasn't beaten him twice in a. [00:31:32] Speaker C: Row, one on one. So this was like the conclusion. The conclusive Hangman is the better man. [00:31:39] Speaker B: Yes, that was the point because they're definitely now switching to Mox and Darby. [00:31:44] Speaker C: Yeah. Which is the right move. That was. They were building that before Darby went on his little mountain adventure. But like, what a match. I just. [00:31:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:31:53] Speaker C: Amazed. [00:31:55] Speaker A: I. Where. Where do you start? Like just every single spot was executed incredibly well. [00:32:03] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, it started off like a solid, pretty normal match to me. What really like kind of kicked into that next gear was when Mox gave him the pile driver on the stairs. And so it's like, okay, this isn't a Texas death match, but they're gonna each other up still, like, right this. It didn't feel like a de escalation from where they were before because they just kept the intensity up in a different milieu, if you will. [00:32:27] Speaker B: I felt like it's that the intensity kicked up well, the pile driver like took it to another level. But like the intensity started very quickly because they initially started trying to do like a, you know, col elbow tie up. And then Mox just like waffles hanger with that haymaker or whatever it was. And then hanger just like just off, bang, bang. Just he just tease off on him in the corner. And then after that, like they just went like 90 miles an hour. [00:32:56] Speaker C: Yeah, he was like choking him out in the corner too for a minute there. [00:32:59] Speaker B: Yeah, they just went 90 miles an hour after like that first like. Oh, we're feeling each other. Oh, no, we're not feeling each other. We're gonna fight. [00:33:05] Speaker A: We're gonna fight. Yeah, we know what we're here to do. So many pile drivers in this match. [00:33:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:33:10] Speaker B: Taz was so upset. Tab was. Taz was, dare I say, Trigger Jones. [00:33:16] Speaker C: His neck was crying out. [00:33:18] Speaker B: He said it should be. [00:33:18] Speaker C: He said pilot drivers in general should be banned. I can't believe he's been through. [00:33:25] Speaker A: I. Yeah, I. There was the one tombstone that Hangman did that I think was that the. [00:33:32] Speaker C: Like the flip over transition into the. Yeah, that was so cool. [00:33:36] Speaker A: Yeah. That it looked like he bounced Mox's head off the mat. [00:33:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:33:41] Speaker A: You could see his back of his bald ass head like scrunching up as he gets dropped. I was like, oh my God, he killed him. [00:33:47] Speaker C: Well in early. After that, this pile driver on the stairs I didn't. I couldn't really see it because of the hair and stuff, but Commentary was saying, like, Hangman's top of his head was bleeding from it. [00:33:57] Speaker B: Yeah, he was. [00:33:58] Speaker C: They mentioned that a couple times. Yeah. I'm also colorblind, so it might just been, like, blending in with the blonde. [00:34:03] Speaker A: For me, but I didn't see it. But I saw the gloves get put on, so I was like, I'm inclined to believe them. [00:34:09] Speaker C: And the fact they brought it up a couple times, I'm like, yeah, that's. It's there. [00:34:12] Speaker B: I think they were trying to bust each other open the hard way. And it just. [00:34:15] Speaker C: That was at the top of your head. [00:34:19] Speaker B: The very first time. Like, Mox is just like, laying in fists on Hangman and, like, it. It. I thought. I thought Hanger was blading, but no blood until, you know, pile driver on the back of the head, which I. [00:34:31] Speaker C: Think also kind of worked to contrast it with Texas Death, where it was a bloodbath. It's like. And this showed. This didn't have to be that. No, like, there was the stuff on top of the head, but it really was just these guys beating the hell out of each other. [00:34:44] Speaker A: Yeah. You still had your big spots, like the. The stair pile driver, the announce table pile driver. [00:34:51] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, that was the day. No, the ape. The apron was the other pile driver. Yeah, I liked Hangman setting up, going for the Danielson stops at one point, too. Like, grabbing the arms and pulling up for that and, well. And Mox counters that into the bully choke. He does. I was like, they're doing. They're actually throwing some good, like, counter wrestling limb work stuff in here too. [00:35:13] Speaker A: Mox got the Danielson, like, chest kicks in there as well. There's a. What's. I'm blanking on what he calls his submission move. [00:35:24] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, I just put the yes lock. [00:35:27] Speaker B: Yeah, it's the LaBelle lock. [00:35:29] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:30] Speaker B: I don't think you can call it the yes lock. [00:35:32] Speaker C: Not legally. No. [00:35:34] Speaker B: No. [00:35:35] Speaker A: That's kind of infringement. [00:35:36] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. And that's Hangman Got that on Mox. And Mox is so good at selling, like, almost tapping out. Like, he gets that hand going and, like, really makes you believe it's the same thing he did when he's getting choked out with the chain at all and where he's like, almost. And he just really, like, sells the struggle of it so well to the. [00:35:55] Speaker A: Point that even commentary was like, was that a tap? [00:35:58] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:35:58] Speaker A: While he's, like, struggling to get to the ropes. [00:36:01] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:01] Speaker C: Which he Skin of his teeth. I like that. Max is pulling out that, like, gotch style pile driver, too. He's doing the Suzuki now. Even did at one point. [00:36:10] Speaker A: There was that pile driver too. [00:36:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Max is going for the neck. Even did the, like, sleeper transition into the Gotcha at one point. I was like, oh, you're doing it. Yeah. You're calling it straight out minor, straight up menorah stuff. Yeah. And we still get a ref bump. [00:36:25] Speaker A: Yep. [00:36:26] Speaker C: They did, like, cool. Really cool. Like, finisher exchange kind of going back and forth, leading to the ref bump. [00:36:32] Speaker A: Ref takes a boot to the head. Surprising no one, of course. Death riders come out, but the combination of Wheeler, Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli were a distraction. Marina is Shafir sneaks the belt into the ring. Mock snails, Hangman. But it is not enough. [00:36:53] Speaker C: Yeah, Even that was a great near fall. [00:36:56] Speaker B: People really thought that was the finish too. [00:36:58] Speaker C: I. I was close to biting. I didn't think they would be taking the belt off Hangman that fast, but I was like, that was a very well done little near fall. [00:37:08] Speaker A: And death riders are escorted out and tell security umpteen times. Get your hands off me. Don't touch me. [00:37:16] Speaker C: Yeah, I like Marina just yelling at them, you're not allowed to touch me. Don't touch me. And then Claudio just picks her up and carries her over the barricade like, come on, Maria. [00:37:27] Speaker A: Which unfortunately was to their own demise as well. Darby Allen comes off of the Aragon Ballroom. Balcony suites, box seats. [00:37:41] Speaker C: To be fair, it was more to the security guard's demise. [00:37:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. At least he aimed in, like, the biggest number of people. [00:37:49] Speaker C: He overshot a little bit. Then Claudio was there, but, like, Yuta was like three feet behind him. But it's a cool moment. Look good. [00:37:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:00] Speaker B: Even better than that was Mox's reaction to it, because in the Mox, like, turns around, he's just like, the hell was that? It's gonna be the picture. It's gonna. It's gonna be the preview picture for the episode. [00:38:10] Speaker A: Absolutely. [00:38:11] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:38:12] Speaker B: He's just like, what the hell was that? Multiple people made the Krusty the Clown. [00:38:18] Speaker C: Reference, so that's perfect. [00:38:20] Speaker A: Yes. [00:38:20] Speaker C: What the hell was that? Been great at these little, like, character moments in the ring, like the ball chant, reaction, stuff like that. Like, he really does those little facial expressions and stuff so well. [00:38:30] Speaker A: Yeah. All throughout this match. It was. It was really spot on. I vote to make the COVID Image Like a 50, 50 transparency of, like, Crusty and Moxley. [00:38:43] Speaker C: That's perfect. Yeah, that's a cool stuff, though. I. I'm still having fun with it. Like, that was a great match. Well, and then it was. Yeah. It was not over yet, I guess. [00:38:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Buckshot. They struggle. Dead eye. Buckshot. [00:39:01] Speaker C: Yep. [00:39:01] Speaker A: Hangman wins. [00:39:02] Speaker C: Yep. Conclusive finish. Yeah. [00:39:05] Speaker A: Our champion, as pointed out by Erica that he won the set. That's three, two. [00:39:11] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:39:12] Speaker B: No, that is. That is. Yeah, that is. Yeah. He did it. [00:39:15] Speaker C: Yep. [00:39:16] Speaker B: It's great. [00:39:17] Speaker C: It was like we're saying great capstone to the feud. Now they can move on. They can do MJF for Sangman or whoever. Get Darby and Mox going. Like, I really. This whole thing really did reinvigorate the Death Riders for me. I feel like probably a lot of other people, too. Like, it kind of paid off the whole kind of, you know, the rough points of the story here and there. It all came together so well. [00:39:39] Speaker A: Yeah. This match puts a nice bow on a lot of different stories and factions that have been going on within AEW over the last month or so. And it's a great kind of branching off point for everybody. [00:39:54] Speaker C: Also, shout out to Marina Shafir for the weird video she posted of her wearing, like, a headgear that has a weight attached to it. I don't know if you two saw this, but she's, like, lifting the weight with this while she has a joiner mouth that she's just ripping. And she has Gogo Bordello blaring beast. It's just her, like, lifting a weight with her head while pulling this joint. Listening to Go over now, it's like, all right, you are really won me over. Yeah. I could imagine smoking weed with her and Roddy be the most intense household. [00:40:26] Speaker B: Her. Her and Roddy, like, they. They perfectly match each other's freezy. [00:40:32] Speaker C: Yeah. They do a little video package for Dustin and Kyle and their street fight that they're doing on Collision for the TNT about. [00:40:39] Speaker A: That's probably right about now. [00:40:42] Speaker C: Yeah. If not now, within probably the next 20 minutes or so, which. I'm excited to go back and watch that. I really did like what they did with the tnt. Yeah. [00:40:50] Speaker A: I might actually. I might actually try and seek that out and watch that because I'm. I like both of those guys and I think that match is going to kick ass. [00:40:58] Speaker C: It's a cool thing to do with. It's got people talking about the TNT belt again. Got some interest in there after. It really has had kind of that rough in the background run for a while. [00:41:09] Speaker A: But thanks, Dustin, for giving some legitimacy to it again. [00:41:14] Speaker C: Yeah. And him doing a hardcore match with Kyle, that's probably gonna rip. [00:41:17] Speaker B: Yeah, that's gonna be like a crowning match for Fletcher probably. [00:41:23] Speaker C: Without a doubt. [00:41:25] Speaker A: Honestly for both of them. [00:41:27] Speaker C: Yeah. Dustin, I mean that's what Dustin should be doing is really like getting these people up to the next level. And I think he's been doing that well. He's been trying with Sammy and this just a great way to like make Kyle to be even more of a killer than he's already been. [00:41:41] Speaker A: And speaking of mentorships, the next match has a little bit of that going on with Athena and Billy Starks up against Toni Storm and Alex Windsor. Window, as I have learned that that is. It is pronounced that way. [00:41:59] Speaker C: Windsor. That's one. It's a fun little gimmick. [00:42:03] Speaker B: Somebody pointed out that they took saying a Windsor out of her music song and now she just says it. [00:42:09] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:42:11] Speaker B: And that's better. [00:42:13] Speaker C: That's. Yeah. After this. I saw so many people on like Blue sky and stuff just saying Windsor like it's really, it's catching on just doing that. And she needed a bit of character. Like Alex Windsor is a great wrestler but that first week or two she was over. She. I don't think she was connecting quite as well as she should have. Not that it's been bad but I think her and Tony particularly together and like the winds of stuff, it's just kind of showing like that character and fun to her. [00:42:37] Speaker B: Yes. [00:42:39] Speaker A: Yeah. All it takes is one little, one little vocal stem for somebody to get over. [00:42:44] Speaker C: Yeah. I mean that's a big part of us. Like that's. Yeah. Stone Cold with the glass break and like because sometimes one little thing can make such a world of difference. [00:42:52] Speaker A: Stone Cold with the what's. [00:42:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:42:55] Speaker B: Stone Cold just talking like Stone Cold like, like we've seen him like again like all right, main pod still on hiatus but like we've seen him like if you see like do the career of Steve Austin it's like, oh, I'm stunning Steve Austin. But then when he comes Stone cold Steve Austin and he starts talking like this. [00:43:15] Speaker C: What? What? Once he gets those affectations and stuff. [00:43:19] Speaker A: And a whoop ass on Prince McMahon. [00:43:23] Speaker C: But being impersonateable is a big thing. Like I don't know if that's the exact right word for it but yeah. [00:43:28] Speaker B: It really having something distinctive. [00:43:30] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And that, that's the stuff that I think Alex Windsor can. If they can get that down, she can be. [00:43:37] Speaker B: Look at Tony Storm in this match. [00:43:38] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. I will say too Billy and Athena are like the two coolest looking people in the world. [00:43:45] Speaker A: Right. [00:43:46] Speaker C: They're coming out for the entrance. I'm like, this is. They're just dope. Like they really look awesome together. [00:43:50] Speaker A: Yeah. Their gear, I would like it please. [00:43:54] Speaker C: Yeah, Billy's like a little punk rock monster and Athena's like just this crazy cosplay goddess. Like there's a such a fun gimmick. I'm so glad they're on AEW tv. [00:44:06] Speaker A: They're really fun together. Like in the match as well. Same with Tony Storm and Alex Windsor. [00:44:14] Speaker C: Yeah, they work great together. [00:44:15] Speaker A: That little. May I have this dance spot? [00:44:17] Speaker C: Yep, I wrote that down. Yep. That was fantastic. This had one of my tasisms too where they're talking about Luther being injured and I think it's Excalibur. Says his bottom fell out and Taz in the background just goes, he needs one of them colostomy bags. [00:44:33] Speaker B: Oh, so weird. I have no idea what you're talking about. [00:44:39] Speaker A: I do remember colostomy bag being mentioned, but I think I just kind of like glossed over and was like, ah. [00:44:45] Speaker C: No, because they were talking about. They were talking about Mina being hurt and Luther being hurt and somebody said Luther had his. His bottom fell out and task was like, yeah, he needs one of those colostomy bags. [00:44:55] Speaker B: Which actually makes me wonder, is Luther okay? [00:44:58] Speaker C: I hope so. [00:45:00] Speaker B: Or see like K fan hurt. [00:45:03] Speaker A: I'm also amazed that Taz pronounced colostomy correctly. [00:45:08] Speaker B: Colostomy Joe. [00:45:12] Speaker C: Colostomy Back Jones. [00:45:14] Speaker A: Colostomy Jones. There you go. That's a gimmick waiting to happen. [00:45:19] Speaker C: Oh yeah, this is a fun match. There's lots of really like just cool little touches. Like there's early on when like Athena's in there with Tony at the very start, she puts her dukes up like an old time like boxer and then she just goes and tags Billy in. I was like, that's cute. Like Billy does her absolute crazy facial expressions throughout this. Like it's just very entertaining. [00:45:42] Speaker B: It occurred to me that what I figured out with Athena and Billy's dynamic is. And they are. Athena's like a Mad Max villain while Billy is her like one of her like crazy subordinates. And it's like it's. It's like the punk. It's like the punk thing that Billy has going on as well. [00:46:02] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:46:03] Speaker B: Like, like Athena gets like the cool stuff and like she's got the personality. And then Billy's like in the background just going like, yeah, we go in, we kill. [00:46:18] Speaker A: And then like even Athena has to be like, hey, dial it back a little bit. [00:46:22] Speaker B: Like, be still, my dog of war. [00:46:25] Speaker C: They have fantastic chemistry together, too. They just work. I mean, every time you see them, it's like, okay, I can see why they put this together. Really cool finish, too. They had, like. [00:46:34] Speaker A: Yeah, the finish was awesome. [00:46:36] Speaker C: This sneak tag that Athena does where she tags and then she jumps to underneath the apron. So that I think it was. Oh, it was Tony. Yeah. So Tony didn't see. [00:46:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:46] Speaker C: And then sets up the surprise O face and gets the pin on Tony. [00:46:51] Speaker B: Surprise. [00:46:52] Speaker C: I know. Yeah. [00:46:53] Speaker B: I'm convinced she called it that. So that people say, like, that. [00:46:57] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:46:57] Speaker A: Yes. I, I, I didn't catch what it was called the first time that they said it. And then they said, like, the name again in, like, the replay. [00:47:06] Speaker C: The Office. What? [00:47:08] Speaker A: And I was like, oh, that is what they said. Okay. Awesome. [00:47:12] Speaker C: She's a big Office Face fan. [00:47:13] Speaker A: It's the big Office. [00:47:17] Speaker B: The gym face. [00:47:20] Speaker C: Because it was the. When she was it. [00:47:22] Speaker B: That's what they called it in wwe, the Gym Face. [00:47:27] Speaker C: What was it? It was the Eclipse in wwe. Was it? Because she was, she was Ember Moon. So. Yeah. It is such a cool finisher. [00:47:34] Speaker A: It's cool. [00:47:35] Speaker C: It's awesome that. Yeah, it always looks good, especially when people, like, sell it. Well, it's just amazing. Athena rules. So glad she's on tv. [00:47:45] Speaker A: Yes. Afterwards, we get a. Which one came first? [00:47:49] Speaker C: I was backstage for Renee and Hangman. [00:47:51] Speaker A: Yes. And then MJF walks in and starts picking on, picking that hangman trying to. [00:47:58] Speaker C: Get a match without using his contract. [00:48:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:48:01] Speaker C: Which I kind of don't get because it's like, why not just use the cat? Like, if you win the tight. Like, let's say he gets a hangman, gives him a match without him using the contract, he wins the belt. You still. What are you doing with that contract? Then you just throw it away. Just use the contract. [00:48:16] Speaker B: That's how he's always done it with, like, the Dynamic diamond ring. [00:48:19] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:48:20] Speaker B: Like, that's a guaranteed title shot. But he never uses it. [00:48:23] Speaker C: That's true. Yeah. [00:48:24] Speaker B: Because he wants to hold on to the weapon. [00:48:26] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:48:26] Speaker B: I don't necessarily know what. I mean. The contract is, like, in a big metal clipboard. I guess that sort of hurts. [00:48:34] Speaker C: You hit people with that too. Yeah. [00:48:36] Speaker A: Yeah. But it's also just like an a deus ex machina to cash in whenever he needs to. [00:48:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I, I don't like the open contract stuff. [00:48:45] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm, I've heard other people say it too. I would like it if it was like, okay, you can use the contract to set a match for yourself. Like, it can't be on the same show or something. [00:48:55] Speaker B: Yeah, right. And like, they seem to. They seem to actually be making those contracts a factor now. [00:49:02] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:49:03] Speaker B: Versus when Christian had it last year. [00:49:05] Speaker C: It just feels like too much like money in the bank. I mean, it's. [00:49:08] Speaker A: It's really does. [00:49:10] Speaker B: Yeah. We don't need money in the bank anymore. [00:49:13] Speaker C: Nope. Let's run this course. No, I still think it looks better than the old. The giant brass ring they used to do with the ladder matches, though. [00:49:19] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:49:20] Speaker A: Yeah, the sonic ring, that was really funny. [00:49:26] Speaker C: Will Hobbs holding it just looks like a normal size one. [00:49:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:49:32] Speaker C: But, yeah, Hangman's not having any of that, is it? [00:49:34] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. He tells MJF that there are so many more people that are in line before you without that match contract to cash in. One of those being Mark Briscoe, who MJF has had his run ins with. [00:49:51] Speaker C: These last few weeks and who has been winning. It makes sense. [00:49:56] Speaker A: Yeah, he absolutely is. As we will get to momentarily. But before that, we have to discuss the trapezoid of Grapezoid Nightingale. [00:50:08] Speaker C: Oh, well, Nightingale. She's so good. [00:50:11] Speaker A: Yes. That was great. Her Tony Khan impression. [00:50:19] Speaker C: She'S such a fun promo. Like, she's really, like, she's so charming and just entertaining to watch. [00:50:25] Speaker B: Yeah, she's. And she can turn up the intensity when she needs to. [00:50:28] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, without a doubt. Yeah. Just likability. Yeah. And I'm excited for her and tackle it coming up. Doing that. That probably has already happened tonight. [00:50:38] Speaker A: It's another match that's happening right now. [00:50:42] Speaker B: I think it already did happen, probably. [00:50:44] Speaker C: Or if not, it's probably just ending. Pretty stacked collision, though. Like, that's. Yeah, that's another one I'm looking forward to watching. They're both awesome. And Will, like, Happy Willow versus the Triangle of Madness. Like, Goth girls is a fun little mini field. It's such a goofy name, though. [00:51:01] Speaker B: Let's talk about that. Yeah. [00:51:03] Speaker A: Who else is in the Triangle of Madness? Because that happened in the last two weeks. [00:51:07] Speaker C: It's Sky Blue and Julia. Yeah. [00:51:10] Speaker A: Okay. [00:51:12] Speaker C: It is a corny name in my opinion, despite the fact that I love the. The team. [00:51:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:51:17] Speaker A: But I don't care. So corny that if it works, it. [00:51:22] Speaker C: Genuinely sounds like an exploitation horror movie from, like 1972. Come get trapped in the Triangle of Madness. [00:51:29] Speaker B: Right. Like, it's. [00:51:30] Speaker A: Look, 20 minutes ago we talked about the Gates of Agony, so I don't. [00:51:34] Speaker C: Think we're like, yeah, no, no, it's not that. It's not. It works for them too, because it's. They've always. Especially Julia and Sky have had this exaggerated gothness that's worked great for like, seriously. [00:51:45] Speaker B: All they. All they need is Goblin to make their entrance music. And they're a 70s. [00:51:53] Speaker C: Heavy. Just slow synth music when they come out. [00:51:55] Speaker B: Yes, yes. What? I'm putting down 100. [00:52:00] Speaker C: Yeah. It's a good. And especially since they. It seems like Hounds of Hell is probably done with Buddy being heard and everything. This gives sky and Julia, like a real kind of direction and faction, which I'm all for. [00:52:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Excited to check that out. [00:52:17] Speaker C: Indeed. [00:52:18] Speaker A: And it is now time for the main event of Ricochet versus Mark Brisco. [00:52:25] Speaker C: Another all in run back. [00:52:26] Speaker A: Yeah. What a wild main event to. To seem to have seemingly out of nowhere. [00:52:31] Speaker B: But yeah, I would not have called this for the main event. [00:52:34] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:52:34] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:52:35] Speaker B: After they announced Mox and Hanger, very surprised again, it. [00:52:39] Speaker A: It worked. I think the show flowed incredibly well and this was a great match to. To cap things off, especially because this. [00:52:46] Speaker C: Match had a story. Stories running throughout the show. So it really did kind of feel like it was the cumulation or the culmination of the show. [00:52:54] Speaker A: Yeah. There were a lot of through lines through. Through this dynamite. From MJF's situation to Mark Briscoe getting called out, getting interrupted by Ricochet. [00:53:09] Speaker C: Yep. [00:53:09] Speaker A: Gates of Agony now interrupting the match all throughout. [00:53:14] Speaker C: Doing good job. Stooging for Ricochet, doing, like, distraction work. They're just great eaters. [00:53:21] Speaker A: Yeah, they really are. [00:53:22] Speaker B: It is good seeing the Gates of Agony have something do. [00:53:25] Speaker C: Yeah. I've always liked them, but I just feel like they always kind of fall into this henchman role, which they do well at it. But I'd love to see them, like, really kind of give the focus on them. [00:53:34] Speaker A: Right, you think. Do you think they could pivot into doing something for like, the trios? [00:53:40] Speaker C: I would. God. Do something with the trio. Oh, right. [00:53:43] Speaker B: There's trios titles. Yeah. [00:53:45] Speaker C: One of them is promoting Twisted Metal right now. [00:53:49] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. [00:53:50] Speaker B: Right. [00:53:51] Speaker C: They wrote some mojo off of a character. [00:53:53] Speaker A: He's half of a character in Twisted Metal. [00:53:55] Speaker C: Yes. Yes. [00:53:56] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:53:57] Speaker A: Erica, you don't feel bad. My roommate also didn't know that one, Samoa Joe was in the show and two, that he was voiced by Will Arnett. [00:54:06] Speaker C: This is quite the pairing. [00:54:07] Speaker A: So you're not alone. [00:54:09] Speaker C: But yeah, they need to do something. I. The trio's belts kind of suck. It's. I love trios of wrestling. [00:54:15] Speaker B: If you want to Watch good trios wrestling. Just go watch Dragon Gate. [00:54:19] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. They're like triple trios. Or even go back and watch Chikara, King of trios matches. [00:54:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:54:25] Speaker C: Watch the Young Bucks with AJ Styles do wacky stuff. [00:54:27] Speaker B: All right. [00:54:28] Speaker A: I was about to say probably see like at least a third of the card tonight. [00:54:32] Speaker C: Pretty close the ref in this match. Yeah. [00:54:36] Speaker B: Go watch pro wrestling. Gorilla Jakarta. [00:54:38] Speaker C: Yep. [00:54:39] Speaker B: All these guys. [00:54:41] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Bryce is the ref in this match because I wrote down the ricochet distracts him after he gets his bald head slapped. [00:54:50] Speaker A: I like how Mark licks his hand. [00:54:55] Speaker C: He gets crazy sound out of it though. It really is just like, it echoes. [00:54:59] Speaker B: He really is telling him just like, go for it. Just go for it. [00:55:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:55:03] Speaker C: I really do like how Ricochet is so good at like integrating his high flying, like, you know, pop the audience offense with this heel character where he's still crazy. Fosberry flops and like big stuff, but it just. He looks like a dick while he's doing it and you don't want to cheer. [00:55:19] Speaker A: That's one thing I noted as well is he just moves so well. [00:55:24] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:55:24] Speaker A: In not just. Again, not just the high flying stuff, but, you know, taking a simple bump or even just getting punched in the head. The way he just flails about is so captivating. [00:55:35] Speaker C: Like, it's easy to forget that he's one of the best wrestlers in the. In terms of like, professional, like in the ring. Like, he's probably top 10 in the world for most of his career. [00:55:46] Speaker B: I think he's like finally grown into the. The wrestler that everybody thought he was going to be. Like. Right. Like, you know, when he was doing Prince Puma and the New Japan stuff and then eventually going to nxt, I was like, all right, this is it. He's gonna take off. And it just didn't work out. [00:56:04] Speaker C: They put him in a bodysuit, but it came together. I mean, he just had to find his place and have somebody who like, had the faith in him to let him be the character he could be. [00:56:17] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:56:18] Speaker C: And yeah, him and Mark have good chemistry too. [00:56:20] Speaker B: Mark just really do. [00:56:22] Speaker C: Beats the. Out of him. [00:56:25] Speaker A: It was another like, kind of high spotty match. [00:56:29] Speaker C: Yeah. We had the Gates of Agony interference and Bandito and Brody came out because they're facing them on collision too, for the tournament, which is a fun tag team. I like Bandito and Brody. Brody or whatever they're calling it. [00:56:41] Speaker A: Rodeo. [00:56:42] Speaker B: It's a terrible name. It's terrible. We gotta stop portmanteauing wrestlers names. [00:56:51] Speaker C: We passed that with the Wardlow stuff. [00:56:53] Speaker B: Yeah, they're. They're. They're. They should be like. They should be the kings of thieves. Come on. [00:56:59] Speaker C: There's that period where everybody was in a tag team with like, Wardlow or Samoa Joe, they just mash their names. [00:57:04] Speaker B: Into it or Joe something. Joe. Joe. [00:57:10] Speaker A: Time honored wrestling tradition. [00:57:14] Speaker B: No, it isn't. Maybe for like the last 15 years it is, but. No, it isn't. [00:57:21] Speaker A: I was so close to sneaking that through. [00:57:24] Speaker B: No, you're getting called out on that. [00:57:28] Speaker A: Yeah. No, it is not time honored, nor is it a tradition. It's just become commonplace and shitty. [00:57:35] Speaker B: Chris Jericho. [00:57:36] Speaker C: Yeah. Was just gonna say Jericho did it with everything. The Jericho and all that. Yeah. Non stop. [00:57:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:43] Speaker C: Yeah. There's lots of chaos at the end there. [00:57:45] Speaker B: I. I'll. I'll say that this match had my TAs as night. [00:57:48] Speaker C: Which one? [00:57:49] Speaker A: Oh, please. [00:57:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:57:50] Speaker B: Okay, so this is where he said the break Dance Jones line. He's like, I used to do that in my neighborhood back in the day with cardboard on the cement. He says to Tony, they don't do that in Virginia where you're from. And then Tony just goes, you don't know that. Okay, fair. And then Tony's like, well, we played the fiddle. You were drinking. Your people were drinking moonshine and my people were drinking cult 45. And then Excalibur chimes in with. Wait, what did I miss? [00:58:26] Speaker A: Sorry, sorry, I zoomed out. What are we talking about? [00:58:28] Speaker B: Alcohol? Like. [00:58:30] Speaker A: Ah, no, we got it. [00:58:32] Speaker C: Yeah. I think that wins. [00:58:34] Speaker B: Somebody actually posted the picture of the announce booth. I think it's this moment and it makes so much sense because Caliber's leaning over, taking and watching the monitor, and Tony and Taz are just like behind him on either side talking at each other. [00:58:51] Speaker C: That sums up their dynamic very well. [00:58:53] Speaker B: Sums it up. Yeah. [00:58:55] Speaker C: Where is he? [00:58:58] Speaker A: Amazing. I. I did catch that and did love it too, but it was. Yeah, it was so much to write down. [00:59:03] Speaker C: No, I'm glad you got that. That's my pick too. [00:59:07] Speaker A: Yeah. All right. [00:59:08] Speaker B: We're. [00:59:09] Speaker A: We're in unison. That wins Taz of the week. [00:59:12] Speaker C: But we digress. [00:59:13] Speaker A: Put it on the whiteboard. Yes. Digression Jones. Mark Briscoe wins. [00:59:18] Speaker C: Yeah. Big J Driller. [00:59:21] Speaker A: But him winning is not the. The end of tonight's dynamite. [00:59:26] Speaker B: Oh. [00:59:26] Speaker A: As he gets the mic and calls out none other than mjf. No talks of pickles here. This is like you said, this is a different Mark Briscoe. [00:59:37] Speaker C: Serious Mark. [00:59:38] Speaker A: Then we've seen recently talks about how he has talks about how MJF has disrespected his brother and how he's worried that he may never actually see his brother again because Jay is up in heaven in that mansion. And Mark is worried that if he kills MJF in cold blood and doesn't repent because he doesn't never get to. [01:00:05] Speaker C: Heaven, he can't remember because he doesn't. [01:00:07] Speaker A: Feel bad and his being feels bad about what he did. [01:00:12] Speaker B: That's so awesome. [01:00:13] Speaker C: Yeah, that was a. In promo. [01:00:15] Speaker A: That was some. That was some cold that, like. [01:00:19] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:00:19] Speaker A: I'm worried about not seeing my brother again because I'm gonna kill you and go to hell. [01:00:24] Speaker B: Jesus, Mark. [01:00:26] Speaker C: I do like the vision of heaven. People have mansions. Yeah. [01:00:31] Speaker B: Yeah. In his mind, like, Jay's got an awesome mansion in heaven. I can respect that. And he's just like, I'm never gonna get to see my brother again because I'm gonna kill you and go to hell. [01:00:45] Speaker C: Yeah. Absolutely sick. [01:00:48] Speaker A: He calls MJF out. MJF MUSIC hits Keeps going, Keeps going, keeps going. MJF's on the TV. [01:00:59] Speaker C: Always on the TV. [01:01:00] Speaker A: He pulled a fast one on him and he talks about how he, you know, almost believed him and almost thought mascot Mark got rid of his silly little goof abouts and he went to the other Mark, Tony Khan, and set up the main event for next week's Dynamite between the two of them because. [01:01:22] Speaker C: Hangman called him a coward. [01:01:24] Speaker A: And oh, mjf, that. That wily little bastard that he is, pulls another one, another fast one on Mark as he comes out, punts him and is about to. About to hit him with the diamond ring before Hangman comes out for the save. MJF hauls ass out. [01:01:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:44] Speaker C: Hangman lines him up for the buckshot and MJ's like. Nope. [01:01:48] Speaker A: Escapes the jade earlier. [01:01:49] Speaker C: Yep. [01:01:49] Speaker A: Almost runs around the ring while they're, like, trying to get out. [01:01:53] Speaker C: Big coward chance from the crowd. [01:01:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:56] Speaker C: Which I like the whole coward thing a lot more than the kosher pickle thing. [01:02:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:02:01] Speaker B: Huh. [01:02:03] Speaker C: Really like where they need to be. This feud kind of is where it needs to be going for mjf. And Mark is do a very good job kind of rehabilitating both of them. [01:02:11] Speaker A: Yeah. Because going into all in, it was kind of spotty and not centered. Yeah, that's. That's a. [01:02:23] Speaker C: Did it feel serious? [01:02:24] Speaker A: Accurate description. Yeah, that too. And it's. It's pivoted now and is much more enjoyable and. And interesting. I think. [01:02:36] Speaker C: I think that was kind of the story of the show in general is this was really like A big storyline progression show. [01:02:42] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:02:43] Speaker C: Tying up some loose ends, finishing stuff up, moving people on to their next things. And I think, by and large, it succeeded very well in that. [01:02:49] Speaker A: And speaking of moving on, Hulk Hogan is dead. [01:02:54] Speaker B: Hulk Hogan's dad. [01:02:55] Speaker C: Oh, no, Daddy. [01:02:56] Speaker A: And Jimmy Hart is forever my money gonna come from. [01:03:01] Speaker C: Still. Still behind the Shoney's. We're gonna leave as well. [01:03:08] Speaker B: It's hedging his bets and, like, planning to manage the Perkins and stuff. [01:03:11] Speaker C: On the back of his jacket, it's got a picture of him crying now. Very sad airbrush. [01:03:18] Speaker A: It's just a Hulk Hogan gravestone on the back now that just says rip. [01:03:21] Speaker B: It cost me so much to make this, Daddy. [01:03:23] Speaker C: I keep doing Mickey Mouse when I do him. [01:03:25] Speaker A: It's really easy to do Mickey Mouse for him and Lawler. [01:03:28] Speaker C: Yeah, there's. There's. There's like a tenor there that you gotta get just right. [01:03:33] Speaker A: Yeah, he's. [01:03:34] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [01:03:35] Speaker B: I can't do it. I can't believe it. [01:03:42] Speaker A: Now you're just doing Shaggy. [01:03:44] Speaker C: No, that's Colonel Parker, Taskmaster's dad. That is definitely Colonel Parker. [01:03:50] Speaker B: Paul White, you gotta come help me. It's no more BS Man. [01:03:54] Speaker C: Yeah, big troll. [01:03:54] Speaker B: I need you, daddy. Right back to Mickey Mouse. [01:04:01] Speaker C: It's broken now. [01:04:06] Speaker A: But if you want to hear more about Jimmy Hart and his ethereal antics, please make sure to check out Monday night fake fights returning soon from an undisclosed location. [01:04:19] Speaker C: Indeed. [01:04:20] Speaker A: We still gotta figure out where that is. Go check out. Ah, the things beeping again. Cho, check out the Patreon. We gotta go. We'll catch you next week for Dynamite by. [01:04:55] Speaker C: La.
