Episode Transcript
[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the Earth was a dark, formless void.
But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling.
And with that, there was Monday, and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages.
On the second day, God got depressed and lo did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday.
On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her.
We know what that means.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: And welcome back to Wednesday night Fake Fights, where we talk all things aew. And we are coming to you from the futuristic year of 2026.
For sure. The New Year.
Robots everywhere.
We all live in rocket ships.
[00:01:16] Speaker A: I like that this is somehow going out to people in the past.
Artificial intelligence kids.
[00:01:28] Speaker B: 12-31-21, 2025.
Yeah, it is the New Year's smash episode named Dynamite from Omaha, Nebraska. And once again, as always, it's me, your boy, Jeff, the token mongers. I'm here with my wonderful co host. Why don't y' all introduce yourselves?
[00:01:51] Speaker A: It's Erica Warren's.
Yeah, girl. I don't. I don't do that.
Happy New Year.
Oh, you get the catch. Yeah, that's fair.
Happy New Year.
[00:02:05] Speaker C: It's your Eldritch horror, Ella Taylor.
[00:02:08] Speaker B: Hey, I like that she her.
[00:02:12] Speaker C: But yeah, still Eldritch horror and all that.
[00:02:17] Speaker B: Only I may dance.
[00:02:25] Speaker C: Feliz nuevo anyo.
These are the things I learned.
[00:02:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:02:32] Speaker C: And not.
Not Feliz nuevo Anno.
Because.
Because that's anus.
[00:02:40] Speaker B: When did we start doing this show? Was trying to think about this. When was our first episode?
[00:02:46] Speaker A: July.
[00:02:49] Speaker C: I recently looked July.
[00:02:50] Speaker A: It was before All In.
[00:02:52] Speaker B: It was.
[00:02:53] Speaker C: Right.
A little bit before All In.
Yeah. And I want to say like a month and a half before my life fell apart.
[00:03:00] Speaker B: Yeah, Something.
[00:03:02] Speaker C: Something about there. Yeah.
[00:03:03] Speaker B: Yeah. This is. We're over six months. We're a good half year into this.
[00:03:08] Speaker A: Yeah. Six months.
[00:03:11] Speaker C: Five.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: Yeah, we're getting.
[00:03:12] Speaker A: You know, we're still doing it.
[00:03:14] Speaker B: What the. What the.
[00:03:15] Speaker C: Does time even mean?
[00:03:16] Speaker B: It.
I was just trying to think with the year, the New year being a marking, like how far had come in that time.
It is.
[00:03:23] Speaker C: You know what? Yeah, I'm gonna do it.
[00:03:26] Speaker B: It.
[00:03:26] Speaker C: I'm doing it. I'm doing it here. Even though the stuff isn't done yet and I gotta poke. Our wonderful artist, Alison Sangi, is amazing and did all of our logos and stuff and. And here we go. I'm doing it. Is working on slightly new logo and revamp of everything.
We're getting rid of the duct tape. Kids. Monday night fake fights is dead.
I killed it. It's dead. I. I put. I. I put a. The pillow on it and went, die, die.
[00:04:01] Speaker B: Insert Undertaker gong here.
[00:04:07] Speaker C: And then, then Vince also killed it and. And, and did a on it because they're. The archives are gone. Yo.
They're gone. I watched. I watched it until I. I watched it on.
[00:04:23] Speaker B: I thought you meant the Monday night fake fights ones were.
[00:04:25] Speaker C: No, not those. The. The. The whole reason that we.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: Yeah know they moved that all over.
Yeah, it was.
[00:04:32] Speaker C: But. But Nitro. Nitro's all of its. The piece of stuff that was.
[00:04:35] Speaker B: And ECW is gone too.
[00:04:37] Speaker C: And ECW and WCW all gone. So like, it sucks. I mean, sure, we could daily motion it, but like, come on. Like, the whole reason was that.
Yeah, but the whole reason is that was so easy to just. I could just send people along.
[00:04:52] Speaker B: Yeah, the.
[00:04:53] Speaker C: The logistics of trying to keep that show going now is so much more trouble than it's worth to hang out with racism and video packages. So, yeah, this is me officially killing it. I have more fun doing this with y' all than I probably ever did in the 90s.
[00:05:12] Speaker B: Significantly better wrestling for sure.
[00:05:14] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[00:05:15] Speaker A: Never have to see Todd Pettengill on screen again and wonder if he's got an erection ever.
[00:05:22] Speaker B: Until he gets on this show.
Until I got him covered for me next week.
[00:05:31] Speaker C: Oh, Jesus. So there you are.
[00:05:34] Speaker B: He added him to the chat.
[00:05:35] Speaker C: Yeah, we might.
You know, I. I can't guarantee we won't go back into the 90s for something.
Occasionally for the Patreon or something.
[00:05:45] Speaker B: Yeah, but I think there's.
We could do like Wrestlemanias or like that.
[00:05:51] Speaker C: But can we? Can we. Are they ever gonna put them out anywhere?
[00:05:54] Speaker B: That's the thing. They're moving the old WWE pay per views to Netflix.
[00:05:59] Speaker C: Are they?
[00:06:01] Speaker B: That is my understanding.
[00:06:03] Speaker C: Because that you. That would be the first I've heard of it. Because last I heard it all was getting cold. And that was it.
[00:06:09] Speaker B: I see people say stuff that's showing up in the coming soon thing on. There was a bunch of pay per views.
[00:06:17] Speaker A: I'm gonna. I'm gonna show my back and my Internet savvy and say, Torrance, you can torrent all this. It's all available for free.
[00:06:29] Speaker B: Show started now it's actionable.
[00:06:30] Speaker C: Yeah, but I'm no good.
Yeah, but I'm no. I'm no good.
[00:06:33] Speaker A: That's not actionable. What's no pirate? No, and look, people better than me have said it. It Is always morally acceptable to pirate media.
[00:06:43] Speaker B: Nobody better than you done and dusted.
[00:06:47] Speaker C: I. The only place I would cut that off at is books because, like, Jesus Christ.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: Yeah, reading's dumb.
[00:06:54] Speaker C: Oh, well, no, but authors don't get.
Almost let that go. Yeah.
[00:07:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:12] Speaker C: So, yes, the point of the announcement. It's Wednesday night Fake fights now. Expect it to change soon.
[00:07:17] Speaker B: We're the A show.
[00:07:22] Speaker C: Fake Fight Studios is always ever expanding. If I get the time. We are.
[00:07:27] Speaker B: Eric Bischoff is now our gm.
[00:07:30] Speaker C: Yeah. Right.
So, you know, there might be.
There might be other shows in the future, but I have no interest in bringing back the Monday night show. It was killing me. I'm pretty sure it. It certainly didn't help my life not falling apart.
So, like, this is better. This is more fun. This is more fun with my friends and community.
And I just prefer. Aw. And like, more of y' all seem to like it. We got more listeners than we used to, so.
Yeah, I have more fun making it.
[00:08:09] Speaker B: Tony Khan listens to this show, so we should keep it.
[00:08:11] Speaker C: Yeah. Tony Khan listens to this one, so we should do this one.
[00:08:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Tony Khan listens. Excalibur listens.
[00:08:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:19] Speaker A: They talked about the length. At length on the pay per View.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: So Stabs has explicitly said he does not.
He does not like us.
I can't blame him.
[00:08:29] Speaker C: Yep, that's that. That's some housekeeping. The way I just felt like it's new. New year, new us. It's literally the first.
[00:08:37] Speaker B: Keep your eye on our. Social media will be changing and yeah, it's still this show.
[00:08:42] Speaker C: The logos will be there eventually. It's still this show, but y' all are the A show now. We're the A show. It's Wednesday night fake fights now, so I'm gonna have to make new merch and all that. So eventually the Monday night. I should probably. I'm probably gonna pull the Monday night stuff. So if y' all want like a Monday night fake fights badge or. Or hoodie or anything like that, get it now. Because when the new stuff comes out.
[00:09:09] Speaker B: I will be pulling that collectible on ebay for so much money, it's gonna be lost media.
[00:09:18] Speaker C: There are dozens of you that will fight over that.
[00:09:21] Speaker B: Are shirts media?
[00:09:25] Speaker A: Hey, I think it's.
[00:09:27] Speaker B: Sure it can be media. If it's one of those with like the lights that make pictures and you can get like text scrolls across it and stuff like that.
[00:09:33] Speaker A: Like the whole.
They can. Like, if people will buy McDonald's shirts from the 70s, then people will buy merch.
[00:09:42] Speaker B: Yeah, they're collectibles.
[00:09:44] Speaker A: And collectibles.
[00:09:45] Speaker C: All right, now that we got that out of the way, let's do this show.
[00:09:50] Speaker A: Revving up the engine.
[00:09:53] Speaker B: Room.
[00:09:54] Speaker C: It's gonna sound like a bong, but it's an engine.
[00:09:58] Speaker A: Jesus Christ.
It is. New Year's smash. Dynamite.
Big night after a huge night of World at World's end pay per view.
Lots of stuff happened. Much wrestling.
[00:10:12] Speaker B: The world is still here, but the.
[00:10:14] Speaker A: World is still here.
[00:10:15] Speaker B: And little dishonest name, depending on how.
[00:10:18] Speaker A: You feel about the world. That's either good news or bad news.
For.
[00:10:22] Speaker C: For like four years in a row, Tony Khan has failed to end the world as promised.
Losing faith.
[00:10:29] Speaker A: Dude, he is the worst horseman. I've got to say.
[00:10:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:10:36] Speaker B: The world. What WWF called their restaurant or something.
[00:10:40] Speaker C: Like, it was just like, w. Yeah, WWF World. And. Oh, no, no. At one point, it was the world they changed.
[00:10:49] Speaker A: It was the world.
[00:10:51] Speaker C: It was the world. And no, Tony Khan is not the worst horseman.
Like, Luger is the worst horseman. No, I'm kidding. That's terrible. That's all. I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
[00:11:02] Speaker B: There's a family annihilator in the mix to, like, pick from.
[00:11:05] Speaker A: God damn it. We did. Can we go one week without mentioning that guy? He's not even in.
[00:11:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Why are we talking. No, no, no, no, no.
[00:11:14] Speaker B: We put the.
[00:11:15] Speaker C: I just killed the show. I I Ben wad the Monday night fake fights. I.
[00:11:27] Speaker A: All right, I'm pulling out of the driveway. Here we go. Max pulls up to the arena. MJF is here. He is the new AEW World men's World Heavyweight champ.
He pulls up in his wagon ear and his big friend and he does his whole swagger to the the ring. And they've got, like, you know, the red, red carpet out.
They've got the.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: I like that. He wears the coat from the car to the entrance of the arena, and then he has a pretty woman standing there to take the coat off. He wore it for all of 10ft.
[00:12:09] Speaker A: Yeah.
Holy. I was like, all right, take it off. I don't. I'll have to. I don't. I won't get my deposit back if I take it inside the building.
[00:12:17] Speaker B: I'm going inside now.
Not gonna be chilly in there.
[00:12:25] Speaker A: So he comes down to the ring and he's all smiles. He gets the mic and he runs down, you know, swerves the franchise.
Joe's the Samoan submission machine and Hangman's the main character.
Well, he's the champ. So the big Three. It's just him and the triple B.
He unveils the new triple B. It actually looks really nice. Like the commentary was written on it, but it looked really round leather.
[00:12:56] Speaker B: The thing is, I'm colorblind and it. I cannot see the Burberry, like, very well. Like, on the actual.
[00:13:03] Speaker C: It's very faint.
Okay.
[00:13:07] Speaker A: This looks like a brown leather belt.
[00:13:09] Speaker B: It is. Okay. Well, yeah, it's nice looking. I wasn't. I thought there was a pattern that I was missing. I know. Or something.
[00:13:15] Speaker C: I was gonna say. Oh. To my eye, it seemed almost like a faint, like, hint of it. Almost like, like stained leather.
[00:13:22] Speaker B: I thought the original BBB was like. It was an actual, like, actual.
[00:13:26] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:13:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:28] Speaker A: Hideous.
Yeah.
[00:13:30] Speaker B: I think that this was. And I just couldn't see it.
[00:13:34] Speaker A: All right.
[00:13:35] Speaker C: That's why I loved it so much. It was horrible.
This one is just a legit pretty belt, in my opinion.
[00:13:41] Speaker B: It's just a nice brown. It's.
[00:13:43] Speaker A: It's.
[00:13:43] Speaker C: I mean, it looks like it smells of rich mahogany. Yeah, it's good.
[00:13:49] Speaker B: I like when MJF's coming out, too. They had like a Burberry effect, like down the entrance ramp, too.
[00:13:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:13:56] Speaker B: It was like, look like Randy Orton's sperm snake, but a Burberry.
[00:14:04] Speaker C: Yeah. Also, I feel like we should probably.
[00:14:06] Speaker A: I guess that's Canada. New MJF comes Burberry.
[00:14:14] Speaker C: It wouldn't be our show if we weren't talking about wrestler come.
[00:14:17] Speaker A: Thick ropes of Burberry.
[00:14:20] Speaker C: Oh, Jesus.
[00:14:22] Speaker B: Instead of a pearl necklace, it's a Burberry scarf. Yeah.
My husband gave me a great Burberry star for Christmas.
[00:14:32] Speaker A: Oh, God, Carol, no. Not in front of the children.
I can't.
All right, we gotta get through this first segment. So he tells. He tells the people that there's people that aren't happy with him. And he's not going to take it easy on the fan favorites. Step up or get stepped on. He is a stallion and he's done trotting around so everybody else can catch up.
And his fans in the crowd are really. I. I found. I. I've decided that MJF fans are actually more annoying than he is because a lot of them in the crowds are just like, yay, I woke. They're like the woke is dead kind of people.
I can say the R word.
[00:15:20] Speaker C: They look.
Those don't speak for all of us. I just like his. His 79 stank.
[00:15:27] Speaker A: No.
[00:15:27] Speaker B: But there was a pretty good spirit of people booing him. And, like, there was an MJF and sucks kind of Competing chant, going for a while and like, yeah, MJF part of it was pretty loud.
[00:15:37] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:15:39] Speaker C: I'm sorry. When he. Like, we haven't. We didn't do post World's End meetup.
We did just didn't work out. Sorry patrons.
So I didn't get to say this on. I. I get to say here. I popped so hard when he won, not because I wanted him to win, not because I'm a big woke is dead douchebag trans chick. I'm like, I did. I never had a Nazi face before. You start now. Yeah.
[00:16:13] Speaker B: Watch out. A lot though.
[00:16:15] Speaker C: I dated someone who did, which was weird because she was like a Cuban girl and I was at. Even at the time, I was like, what's going on here?
[00:16:22] Speaker B: You had a several experience, I see.
[00:16:24] Speaker C: Yeah.
That.
[00:16:27] Speaker B: Oh my.
[00:16:28] Speaker C: That girl would absolutely own a Tesla.
But point being, I, I just like, I loved it because I didn't see it coming. Never really wildest dreams that I think that he was.
[00:16:44] Speaker B: I was sure he was winning. That's.
[00:16:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:16:47] Speaker B: Like when he came back and cashed, I was like, oh, they're putting the belt on mjf. Like, I was.
[00:16:51] Speaker A: Yeah, that was, that was pretty telegraphed. Like the, the. If there's one thing that I've come to accept about World's End is you do not want to go into that show as the men's world champion.
[00:17:03] Speaker B: No.
[00:17:03] Speaker A: Yeah, you are losing.
[00:17:08] Speaker C: That's a good call.
[00:17:09] Speaker A: At least nobody, at least nobody got like, you know, plastic bag this year.
[00:17:14] Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, I'm not, I get like, I'm not like, I'm not one of the people who's like super upset about it. No, I don't think he's gonna. I don't think he's gonna have a huge run. I don't think he's going to have like a game changer run. I think he's going to have a fun little heel run and do his thing and like do it, in my opinion. Well, you know, you know what I mean? Like everyone, I'm just like, yeah, he's Ric Flair.
Hate him. Like.
[00:17:45] Speaker B: Well, I was kind of expecting him to win because it's like if he wins, then he has automatically three challengers set up with Mandido and then Swerve and then Hangman. So I was like, it makes just booking sense to me to give it to him because then you have like at least a month or two of feuds already laid out. You can go in. Whereas with Joe or the other two, there wasn't as many avenues to go with it.
[00:18:06] Speaker C: And people wanted off of them so hard already.
[00:18:09] Speaker B: And Hangman had just had the belt and Swerve hasn't really got re. Earned his position to where he should win the belt yet, in my opinion.
[00:18:16] Speaker C: So, so you could get, you could give it to Bandido or you could.
[00:18:20] Speaker B: I would love for that to happen, give it to Bando.
It would be such a great surprise moment.
[00:18:28] Speaker C: Like Bandido, two belts would be pretty sweet.
[00:18:31] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:18:31] Speaker B: And Bandido's on, on such a hot streak, on such a roll. Like people with pop.
[00:18:37] Speaker C: I'm g, I don't think it's gonna.
[00:18:38] Speaker B: Happen, but I don't think it's gonna.
[00:18:40] Speaker C: Happen, but it would be sick. I, I, I, I think that, I, I think that we are going to have at least one to two months of a, of an MJF title run and, and people are going to be.
[00:18:54] Speaker A: Real mad if it goes like, I.
[00:18:57] Speaker C: Can'T guarantee it's gonna be great. If it goes longer in the next pay per view, I'm gonna be mad.
[00:19:04] Speaker A: I, I, I think he's gonna go the full year again.
[00:19:07] Speaker C: Nah. Jesus Christ.
[00:19:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:10] Speaker C: If he goes the full year, the storytelling around it better be so unreal. Good.
[00:19:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:19] Speaker B: Only do that, like, Osprey has to come back so he can chat. You have to have like, some.
[00:19:27] Speaker A: Have.
[00:19:27] Speaker B: Danielson come out of retirement to challenge. Like, that's the only way. Okay. They would rain that long.
[00:19:34] Speaker A: But speaking of challengers, Max already has a big challenger right in his way already. As Kenny Omega interrupts via video.
[00:19:43] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:44] Speaker A: And he talks about how he's, he's nearing the end of his, he feels like he's nearing the end of his career.
And he wonders, what if he'd beaten Max two years ago when that was how Max became the longest reigning AW world champion and he wants the title back. Max says that Kenny wasn't bad enough to say all this to his face, but that here comes Hangman and Swerve and they're coming from the crowd.
[00:20:11] Speaker B: We're man.
[00:20:12] Speaker C: Or as I'm calling him now, the chain. Chain gang.
[00:20:15] Speaker A: They're the boyfriends.
[00:20:17] Speaker C: The boyfriends they gotta leave together because they're married.
[00:20:20] Speaker A: Yeah. So, so they, they come down to the ring and security guys all run out to try and stop them from getting in the ring because they're going to murder Max.
[00:20:29] Speaker B: There's no dojo for them to kill this time, so they just do security.
[00:20:33] Speaker A: They just kill the security guys instead.
[00:20:35] Speaker B: They have to have some kind of moocs There have to be MOOCs destroyed.
[00:20:42] Speaker A: So the boyfriends each have a mic and Hangman says he's going to strangle Max with the belt.
And then Swerve says if Paige gets to do that first, Max should consider himself lucky.
[00:20:53] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:20:55] Speaker A: Now Joe and the Ops appear via. Via video message and Joe says they don't deserve anything. Only he deserves a title shot.
He's gonna send Hook to hunt down Hangman which I'm sure will go very well for him and meet that's very back on the venue and raise her.
[00:21:11] Speaker B: Ramon's hands at that.
[00:21:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:21:18] Speaker A: Because Hobbs is going after Swerve. Swerve says this is stupid and it is demands a lights out match.
So we have a challenge for next. Is it. I was. It's.
[00:21:33] Speaker B: It's next week.
[00:21:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:21:35] Speaker B: It's. But it's probably the best possible thing they could do with the Hooks and Hangman like this. It'll be a sick match. I can pretty much guarantee like that's just gonna go crazy. Hook can be protected with these other three guys who work really well and he does well enough in like plunder matches. So I think it's a good move for it.
I think man looks Stella at that.
[00:21:56] Speaker A: Let them let Hangman and Swerve keep feuding with Joe on the Ops.
Let them kind of like go on the back burner. I think Kenny is going to get the revolution title shot probably.
[00:22:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:22:07] Speaker B: It'd be nice to get a third with them so they could trio.
[00:22:11] Speaker C: I, I want, I, I want, I want Kenny to. I would love for Kenny to take it off him. I think it would be great. I would think it would be great for all of the last like round of, of winners and challengers and to come after it and lose. So Swerve, Hangman, Joe all lose. Bandito, love you. It's gonna be a hell of a match. You're not winning and I think you give it to Kenny and like if he's honest about feeling like he's getting to the end of his run, this might be his last title run.
[00:22:45] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:45] Speaker B: So I hope it still ends up being Eddie Kingston somehow do like a few months with Max's champions. Eddie builds himself up, gets back into and then takes it off him in like summer or something.
[00:22:57] Speaker C: I think, I think, I think Eddie needs a mid card run for, for a while to, to get, get back in the game and like fun to.
[00:23:05] Speaker B: Have it just one time. Just let him get the world out one time before retires.
[00:23:11] Speaker C: I think, I think he'll get it But I, I, I, I think we have more time. I, I think we might have more time with Eddie than we.
[00:23:17] Speaker B: Yeah, I think he's got, like, he's been injured and off for a year, so that's tacked on to his. So he's probably got at least, like, two or three more years on his contract.
[00:23:24] Speaker C: Yeah. And, like, I. Well, I. I just think physically, I think we have more time with Eddie than we do with Kenny.
[00:23:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:23:35] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:23:35] Speaker B: That's why I feel like the plan was for him and the Elite to be, like, maybe go after the OPS and the Trios thing, but then the Bucks got hurt, so now they're maybe shuffling stuff around a little bit with the world.
[00:23:45] Speaker C: Yeah, but. But it's like, you're. He's gonna. He's gonna touch all the gold he wants to touch in the next maybe year or two, and then he's gonna be done.
So, like I say, get all the way now. Like, what's that?
[00:24:00] Speaker B: Sorry.
All the gold he wants. And I said Koto Ibushi's nickname is Gold.
[00:24:06] Speaker A: Yeah. Gold Star.
[00:24:07] Speaker B: Yeah, he is, actually.
I forgot about that.
[00:24:10] Speaker A: Yeah, he's gonna.
[00:24:11] Speaker B: Yeah, he was the gold Star.
[00:24:13] Speaker A: Kiss his boy.
[00:24:13] Speaker B: You made it happen. Not me.
[00:24:17] Speaker C: Whoops. I did this.
[00:24:18] Speaker A: I did this.
[00:24:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:24:21] Speaker A: All right. Onward we go to the back.
Renee Paquette is with the Conglomeration, and Mark says they're rolling. And Willow's gonna win the TBS title tonight, and maybe Ted Turner will want to conglomerate.
Is he dead? I don't know. He might just be like.
[00:24:39] Speaker B: No, he just. I don't. Yeah, I think he just doesn't have anything to do with the company anymore.
[00:24:44] Speaker C: No, that's a bit from one of my other shows, Dead or Retired. Dead or Retired?
[00:24:49] Speaker A: No, I. I mean, like, I. I generally don't know if, like, they have, like, an equ. Cryogenic chamber or something.
[00:24:54] Speaker B: He's alive, right? He's 87 years old and alive. According to Google, he's not as old as he was. 87 years old and dead. He can't trust that he's. Yeah, he looks horrible.
[00:25:07] Speaker A: Cool. Well, good.
[00:25:10] Speaker B: I mean, give him the conglomeration. Let's go. Yeah.
[00:25:13] Speaker A: Yeah, he fits in.
[00:25:14] Speaker C: Per millionaire Ted. Yeah.
[00:25:16] Speaker B: Dick Van Dyke looks better than you, man.
[00:25:20] Speaker A: Jesus. The word of the day is so. The word of the day is asphyxiation because the Death Riders will be choking on these nuts tonight.
[00:25:31] Speaker C: My God.
[00:25:32] Speaker B: So we're sticking with the mixed nuts is what they're calling intergender tag matches. That is, like, what these are now.
[00:25:38] Speaker A: I think it's a Tony Storm and Tony Storm, in fact, tangos.
Tango's into frame.
God.
[00:25:49] Speaker B: Yeah. I have like, the little script of what happens next saved here.
[00:25:52] Speaker A: Like, I. I did too. This is like one of the most unhinged Tony Storm things I've ever seen. So she says, hello, Citrus Boy. You've got some pretty sweet moves for someone so acidic.
So now Mina and Luther now arrive and are just like. Mina's like, no, you're my wife.
[00:26:12] Speaker C: Yeah, we gotta talk about.
[00:26:13] Speaker B: He tells Orange to take his hand out of his pocket.
He's jacking it.
[00:26:21] Speaker C: This is the greatest thing.
[00:26:23] Speaker A: This is so great. So Tony assures her it's professional, but also he's not Tony's type. He's barely awake.
[00:26:30] Speaker C: What?
[00:26:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:26:32] Speaker A: Says he's got to watch himself.
Luther's like scowling in the back, doing his.
[00:26:37] Speaker B: Like, he's just mean mugging the whole time. It's so fun.
I watched the Luther, like the entire time because his face was just cracking me up back there.
[00:26:47] Speaker A: Tony announces we have. We have a date with a fig on Peach Street. I don't know what that means. And then.
[00:26:54] Speaker B: Yeah, that's some kind of euphemism. That's beyond me.
[00:26:57] Speaker A: The most up thing since Jack Perry bit Okada's dick.
Tony Storm pulls out a whole orange skin it all. It just bites just through the rind.
Just bites it like Carlito with the apple and walks off.
[00:27:18] Speaker B: Mina Gas. Mina is shocked when she bites into this orange.
[00:27:26] Speaker C: I am so here for it. Like, it was very funny. Is a great. Because again, we. We didn't get to run down the mixed nuts on the pay per view, but they ran a lot of it back here in very.
[00:27:39] Speaker B: This was almost like they were like, oh, that was so good. We should do it on tv.
[00:27:43] Speaker C: Yeah, like, that was awesome. We should do it on tv. We didn't get a negative reaction for like the blatant intergender wrestling.
Let's do it on TV and see what happens. You know, it's like I felt like this was this, this, this match is the most, you know, Tony Khan at a le at a dial that says Intergender wrestling. Turning it up. And like.
[00:28:07] Speaker B: He'S gonna test that more and more.
[00:28:10] Speaker A: That's kind of what it's been like for the last year. It's like, what can I get away with? Because I know that a lot of this is just, you know, standards and practices.
[00:28:18] Speaker B: I think having Marina Shafir, having been part of, like, immense faction for a lot he's Kind of used her as like this barometer for it because he's attacked. She's like taking guys out during matches and stuff for a long time and like. Yeah.
[00:28:34] Speaker C: Yeah. She's been dudes up for a while and like. No. And, and I think it probably, I. I feel like it has to help that he came to them. It probably went to him and went look to one of the guys and girls that are going to be fighting our art.
Like it is. This is so okay.
Like I can tell you this is so okay that they are married.
Like that's how okay they are with this. It's like, like they are man and wife and they're saying, yes, I would like to. To hit my wife in front of a bunch of people and I have no problem with this at all. You know what I mean? Like, I feel like that had to help, you know? I'm gonna smack my wife's back so hard that my handprint is there for like days.
[00:29:19] Speaker A: Oh, that looks like it sucks so hard.
[00:29:25] Speaker B: Yeah, it is loud. Was that was the back slap on the pay per view or was that in this match? I can't remember.
[00:29:30] Speaker C: That was the pay per view.
[00:29:32] Speaker B: That was in the pay per view. I think you're right.
[00:29:34] Speaker C: Yeah, that was the pay per view because. Yeah, in the pay per view. Sorry, I'm gonna go real quick because what happens in the pay per view is she low blows him and like he, she turns her back like. Yeah. And he recovers and like full on like smack, like chops like smacks back so loud it voice popped so hard and it's like, God, you got again. You have to do that on tv. Like come on guys.
[00:30:09] Speaker A: Yeah. And so without further ado, the trio's version of the mixed nuts match as the conglomeration Orange Cassidy, Roderick strong and timeless Tony Storm as your conglomeration adjacent warrior, civilian or civilian warriors take on.
[00:30:29] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Tony.
[00:30:29] Speaker A: The Death Riders, Claudio Castagioli, Daniel Garcia and Marina Shafir.
[00:30:35] Speaker B: Also this one's a tornado match too.
[00:30:37] Speaker A: Which is another tornado match. Yes, it's gotta be.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:30:41] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:30:41] Speaker A: We'll get into it a little bit more with when we get to Mox's match tonight. But like the Death Riders were sort of rocking that tweeter thing at the at world's end. But now they're back to full on heels. But I guess they're more cool heels.
[00:30:55] Speaker B: Except Yuta. People still hate you.
[00:30:56] Speaker A: Except for everybody hates Yuta.
[00:30:59] Speaker B: He's like the only one they can't really. And Garcia too still gets A lot of heat.
[00:31:04] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:31:06] Speaker B: Basically the Twinks, they get tweaks. We get some people.
[00:31:10] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll get into it, but he got some. We're talking intergenerative wrestling. And Danny Garcia, he. He got some heat tonight.
[00:31:18] Speaker B: Holy.
[00:31:20] Speaker C: Anyways, yes.
[00:31:22] Speaker A: No.
[00:31:22] Speaker C: The Death Riders. Yeah. Riding Tweener, but just Heelish.
Yeah, it's.
[00:31:28] Speaker A: It's just pretty chaotic from the start. They're just brawling every play all over the place. Tony and Marina are just slugging it out until Claudia just grabs Tony and just like dumps her on the floor, tossed her outside.
[00:31:42] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:31:43] Speaker A: They. They get Orange Cassidy alone together. Alone by himself. And they, you know, do the whole. We're all going to charge into them in the corner one by one by one.
[00:31:54] Speaker C: Such a good bit. They did it. They did it. They did it like almost too long at the base.
[00:31:59] Speaker B: They do it really fast now. They were. Yeah, they've been doing this regularly too. And it flows. It's kind of crazy looking how they get it going.
[00:32:05] Speaker C: And poor Orange, it's just. You just, you kill.
[00:32:09] Speaker B: Got juiced.
[00:32:10] Speaker C: Yeah, he's. He's all the way squeezed.
[00:32:12] Speaker A: He's pulped at this point. He did not have a good night. He did not have a good night. Like.
Danny in the ring is holding Tony and letting Marina take some free shots, while Claudia has gone to the outside to retrieve the Orange Cassidy and just press, presses him. Press holds him up over his head. Not even like the suplex hole. He's just holding bodily weight over his head and just walks up the stairs, deposits him to the ring.
[00:32:41] Speaker B: There was one little spot in here I like too where Orange. They have. Somebody's in the corner and Orange Cassidy gets up on him and he like he's gonna do the ten count punch and he just does one and then he jump and celebrates.
[00:32:54] Speaker C: He. He. He's brought that, that. He did that like a lot, I guess back in the day. And he brought. He's brought. That's a good spot recently and it's such a good spot.
Very, very love that spot.
[00:33:06] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:33:06] Speaker C: There's so many good spots throughout this whole catch speak.
[00:33:09] Speaker A: Speaking of more Orange Cassidy bits. He does the. The devastating chops with Claudio, but Claudia just levels it with a single one.
They try and do. They try and do one of those camel clutch poses where Marina and Danny are like. Usually the way they do it is somebody stands on the person in the middle and two guys hold person the. The victim's arms.
Claudia just has the, the camel clutch and they're just like posing off the side of him. Like Power Rangers.
[00:33:44] Speaker C: Yeah. No. Truly a mixed nuts match in the sense that it's wacky. This is wacky, but also violence.
[00:33:54] Speaker B: I think the fun of it helps with this concept too. Like, the goofiness kind of helps a lot. Like, whereas we're talking of this, like, easing into intergender wrestling, like, having this. And we'll get to it here. Like, the dance spots and stuff, too.
[00:34:06] Speaker C: The dance spots.
Yeah. I. I think we're skipping ahead. But at one point, Tony trying desperately wanting to put Claudio in the big swing because he big swinged her at the pay per view.
[00:34:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:21] Speaker C: And she's just like, I'm gonna get this. She keeps trying to big swing Claudio. And the crowd's like, into it. Like, let's go. And it's just like, dude, it's not gonna happen.
He's. He's so big and you're so small.
[00:34:38] Speaker A: Roddy. Roddy ends up making the save. And the crowd pops really, really big for him, attempting to give Marina a back breaker.
But he's prevented from doing that at this time. And this is where we get the. The tango.
As Orange Cassidy and Tony Storm beat in the middle of the ring. They. They. They do some dance moves to fight off Marina and twirl each other into.
[00:35:03] Speaker C: Into back. Like, back for.
[00:35:05] Speaker B: And. Yeah. And dodging out of moves with dips and stuff. It's very cool looking.
Yeah.
[00:35:10] Speaker C: It's another. It's a replay of. Of a World's End spot. And it's one of my favorite things who has, like, happened so far in all of this? Like, it just.
Holy. It was like. I'm just. What? I'm staring at the screen like it's for me. Right? They did it for me. It's specific. It's my favorite things happening all at the same time with my.
[00:35:32] Speaker A: It was good. It was good. It was very good.
[00:35:35] Speaker C: So good.
[00:35:36] Speaker A: They. They get. So the first time. So Tony tries to do the giant swing twice. The first time she gets Orange Cassidy to help her.
[00:35:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:35:47] Speaker A: Nothing. Nothing doing. Nothing doing.
There's so good.
[00:35:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:56] Speaker A: So, like, they. They couldn't do it. So Orange just does a PK kick. Penalty kick.
[00:36:06] Speaker B: Off instead.
[00:36:09] Speaker A: So here. So then now. Now Tony's like, I'll just do it. Fine. I'll do it myself. And he's going.
[00:36:16] Speaker B: She's.
[00:36:17] Speaker A: She's like. The crowd is, like, biting like the. Oh, she's gonna get it. She's gonna get it. And here comes Danny Garcia with, like, a huge kick in the face.
[00:36:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:25] Speaker A: Just Takes her head, which draws giant booze, huge booze.
[00:36:30] Speaker C: But no one got up and left and went, oh, my God, the children.
[00:36:34] Speaker A: Nobody went, oh, my God, the children. And then it continued because.
Holy Orange Cassidy hits the orange punch on Danny Garcia. Marina gets mother's milk on orange Cassidy. And then here comes Roddy again. Grabs his wife and gives her a backbreaker.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: He murdered her with her.
[00:36:56] Speaker A: The only thing I will say about Roderick Strong versus Marina Shafir in the ring at all, it's not uncomfortable because it's a man and a woman. It's like, I feel like I'm watching their foreplay.
[00:37:07] Speaker C: Well, it's uncomfortable.
[00:37:09] Speaker B: Maria Shafir, this just seems like something. She's probably, like, really cool. Like, it's such an intense, scary person. I don't think you could see it being anything she's not for.
[00:37:18] Speaker A: Right. But that's okay.
[00:37:19] Speaker C: Roddy. Remember, just like, honeymoon, you know, I.
[00:37:23] Speaker A: Like, they went back and they. After this, right?
[00:37:29] Speaker B: So they're just doing these little, like, taste spots of those two together. It's just fun. Little, like, acknowledgment for people who are in the know on it, but they're not, like, you know, running into the ground.
[00:37:39] Speaker C: I got. I will say. I. I gotta call out. Oh, God. Who. Who did it? Oh, it's a friend of the pod. If you feel long time sicko. A beat of Slim posted pictures. It said, Roddy and Marina tomorrow. And it's just Roddy pushing her in a wheelchair.
[00:38:00] Speaker B: Yeah, that was their.
Because they got married when she was, like, injured. That was like their honeymoon pictures where them at Disneyland with him pushing her around in a wheelchair.
[00:38:08] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yep, yep. It was that. Yeah, it was that picture. It's like, this is them tomorrow. Like, sorry I had to break your back, honey.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: That's kind of sweet.
[00:38:17] Speaker C: Oh, but again, no one died. Yeah, no one died. No one clutched their. Sometimes their pearl necklaces or their.
Not their Burberry necklace.
[00:38:29] Speaker B: Good for two crazy people like Roderick Strong and Marina Shafir to, like, come together, like, take each other out like cruise missiles so they're not out. And being in the general public, they could just kill each other and have children.
[00:38:43] Speaker C: Truly the Mrs. And Mrs. Smith.
[00:38:47] Speaker A: All right, so Claudio and Orange Cassidy are. They're together again because they're forever enemies. And he tries a crossbody Claudia catches, rolls through stun dog Millionaire Tony gets the hip attack on Claudio ddt.
And he calls for the orange punch. But who would show up but our dear friend Wheeler Yuta.
I'm A distraction.
I'm doing a running.
[00:39:17] Speaker B: I'm here to get the heat that's lacking.
[00:39:21] Speaker C: I. I just. I just want to say real quick, we. We. We.
A wrestling show that leans heavily on reoccurring Simpsons bits.
We stand on the shoulders of Matthews. I just want to throw some. Some recognition out there.
[00:39:42] Speaker B: Simpsons reference. Yeah.
[00:39:43] Speaker C: Oh, Jesus.
[00:39:44] Speaker B: Millennial. It's millennials talking about pro wrestling. It's just. Yeah, it happens.
[00:39:48] Speaker C: It's what we're gonna do. Yeah.
[00:39:50] Speaker A: Simpsons and wrestling go together like peanut butter and jelly.
[00:39:56] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[00:39:56] Speaker B: Simpsons wrestling memes is like one of my favorite accounts. Like, it's just something.
[00:40:02] Speaker C: I've literally made a Simpsons wrestling meme with a little potato that's bleeding labeled Jon Moxley. It says, I just think he's neat.
So, yeah, like, that's. That's the whole thing.
Anyways, back on track. Sorry. I derailed it to shout out to Matthew. Matthew.
[00:40:20] Speaker A: Matthew. Yes. Blue Sky Mutual. Matthew.
All right. Orange Punch is countered because of Wheeler Yuta's distraction pop up uppercut that Orange Cassidy still has no answer for. And that's when I love that. Because when he finally kicks out of that, it's going to be a big deal.
[00:40:42] Speaker B: Yeah, they will. Yes. Yep.
[00:40:44] Speaker C: I love when. When people do wrestling booking good.
I. I like it better than when people do wrestling booking bad.
[00:40:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:40:55] Speaker C: I'm not naming any names, Fed, but like, it's.
[00:41:00] Speaker B: That's our.
[00:41:01] Speaker C: Yeah. Billy Corgan. Yeah. You suck.
[00:41:05] Speaker B: How you like God damn.
[00:41:10] Speaker A: Reason at all. This reminds me, I saw a sign at the show that said, Triple H has no ideas.
[00:41:15] Speaker B: World is a vampire.
[00:41:17] Speaker A: World is a vampire Sent to drain.
[00:41:19] Speaker B: World is a vampire. I love this match, though. I thought this was my second favorite match of the show.
[00:41:25] Speaker A: I love this match. This match ruled.
[00:41:28] Speaker C: I want this forever and ever. I need more Intergender wrestling.
[00:41:33] Speaker B: It was just the same match from Saturday, but it was amazing. It was more just fantastic.
[00:41:38] Speaker C: Yeah, it was just a little bit shorter for tv.
They got a couple different spots in, so it was like seeing a variation on a set.
[00:41:47] Speaker A: It.
[00:41:47] Speaker C: It was fantastic. It was awesome.
[00:41:50] Speaker B: Should still be getting wins for where he's positioned now. He's like the killer dude. He should be. He should be beating Orange Cassidy, like.
Yep.
[00:41:59] Speaker C: And. But I love. No, I love the storytelling, though. That, like, it's that, like he can't just smash him.
You know what I mean? He. It's that uppercut and it's just. It's like you said, it's his kryptonite. Like, they are almost Equally matched. Like orange is that good? But he just can't get over that one.
[00:42:20] Speaker B: Three doors downstairs.
[00:42:22] Speaker C: Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like.
It's like.
It's like Kyle with the ankle. The ankle pick on Mox. Yeah, he's got his number, you know. You know, and I like. I love that. I love that they're not afraid to do that.
And I just. Triple H could never.
Sorry. I'm trying not to be like that, you know, I really do. But they. They've. They just. It just sucks. Every once in a while I check in to see how it's going, and it sucks. It's not good. It's not going well. It's going poorly.
Meanwhile, we are feasting on mixed nuts.
[00:43:05] Speaker A: Mixed nuts Segment ends with Tony checking on Orange Cassidy, which draws out the still very jealous Mitashirakawa.
So I guess the timeless, not really conglomerated. Yeah. Luther is like.
[00:43:19] Speaker B: I think the loser's just back. He's just like hanging in the background again.
[00:43:23] Speaker C: Just like, boss, boss lady. What are you doing?
You're upsetting the wife.
[00:43:30] Speaker B: Well, like when Tony starts calming Mina, like, Luther just comes up and he starts rubbing Tony's shoulders, like the entire time. So weird and funny.
[00:43:38] Speaker C: I just love Mina freaking about. About the hands in the pockets, dude.
[00:43:42] Speaker A: Just.
[00:43:42] Speaker B: It's a very. This is such a funny little storyline. Like, I'm really glad they're doing this. It's giving me a lot of laughs.
[00:43:49] Speaker C: And I hope that they embrace it and that they just thrle. And that they conglomerate. But in. In the meantime, you know, the civilian warriors shirt available now.
[00:44:01] Speaker B: I think Orange Cassidy is a largely, like, asexual character, maybe.
[00:44:05] Speaker A: That's.
[00:44:06] Speaker C: I was gonna say, like, he doesn't.
[00:44:08] Speaker B: Yeah, he's. He's just kind of like the dance.
[00:44:11] Speaker A: Moves are not romantic. The dance moves are, you know.
[00:44:15] Speaker B: No, yeah, it's like. For him, it's the art.
[00:44:17] Speaker A: Like he says, like the day. Like the dance. You're a weird person too romantic. It is. It is. Like, this is. This goes in perfectly with my style because nobody expects it.
[00:44:28] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, it does.
[00:44:30] Speaker C: He didn't expect. He's. The look on his face is like, oh, this is happening.
Hey, could you do me a favor and elbow this guy? Yeah. Cool. Okay. I got you.
Yeah. No, it just.
[00:44:40] Speaker B: It.
[00:44:41] Speaker C: They fit together so well. It just. It fits so well, obviously. I mean, of course, Mina's a little jelly.
Like it's gonna happen.
[00:44:53] Speaker B: I just like that the conglomeration is now just this device for anytime faces aren't really doing anything. And you just want to toss them in with some goofy. You have them interact with the conglomeration in some form, and it's very.
[00:45:05] Speaker A: That's perfect. It's perfect. It's perfect.
[00:45:06] Speaker B: It is. It's. It's like. It's a sitcom that people can guess that and like.
[00:45:11] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:45:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:45:13] Speaker C: No, they gave Mark Briscoe a sitcom with.
[00:45:16] Speaker B: With a stack and wait for next G1. So we got big time back in.
[00:45:22] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. Oh, big time.
Yeah. Miss Big Time.
No, like, it's. The conglomeration is one of my favorite things to happen in wrestling in recent memory, and not just because I'm a slut for Orange casting.
I mean, that's. That's definitely part of it, but it just work.
[00:45:41] Speaker B: One thing happened at the end of this match that kind of annoyed. They cut off on the cameras. When Orange is on the ground, Roderick comes and he offers him a hand up and he helps him up, but they cut it off on the cameras. Like, people live said that. That it's like, that's a storyline development for Roderick Strong and his whole, like, not. He's hated Orange Cassidy. And they can go, yeah, but he gave. He, like, pick. Gave him the pickup and stuff. It's like, yeah, he's starting to conglomerate a little.
[00:46:08] Speaker A: Yeah, conglomerate a little bit.
[00:46:10] Speaker C: He goes back and forth.
[00:46:12] Speaker A: He did say in the promo that he didn't want anything to do with it, but it might have just been he didn't want anything to do with Tony Storm biting Orange.
[00:46:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Because right after she does that and walks off, Mark Brisco follows and he goes, I want to bite of that orange.
[00:46:29] Speaker A: Like, I'll be friends with you. Because, like, I. I thought that, like, the. The way that they ended the. The. The. The. The C2. Roddy's story at the C2 is like, it's okay to conglomerate, man. You're allowed to ask for help.
And it's. Yes, it's very fine to ask for help. You don't necessarily need to hang out with people while they're eating oranges.
[00:46:49] Speaker B: That's something we can all take away from wrestling.
[00:46:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
Okay.
[00:46:53] Speaker B: To have friends, you'll have to share an orange with a silent movie star, but you can have friends and you can.
[00:47:00] Speaker C: You can pull your chops on your friends. Like, just.
[00:47:03] Speaker B: You don't have to be in weird thruffles with Luther, but just have some bros. It doesn't just have to be Adam Cole.
[00:47:09] Speaker C: Luther is not part of the throttle. Luther is. Is.
[00:47:12] Speaker B: No, he just cleans the belt in the corner.
[00:47:14] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:47:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:47:14] Speaker B: Come on now, Luther.
[00:47:17] Speaker C: Oh, there's got to be a.03 fanfic of this somewhere.
[00:47:21] Speaker B: That was one of my favorite bits. It was like when Mariah May was still there, and, like, her and Tony were kind of, like, being all flirty. And then it cuts, and Luther's in the corner, and he's just, like, got his back turned to him, and you see his arm moving.
[00:47:32] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:47:33] Speaker B: And he comes around and he's polishing the belt.
[00:47:39] Speaker C: I love it. I love wrestling.
[00:47:45] Speaker A: Luther.
All right, moving on. They have a little video package for Mercedes Monet versus Willow Nightingale, which is our main event for the TBS title.
[00:47:57] Speaker B: Mercedes is doing great.
[00:47:59] Speaker A: She's doing great. Everything's fine. She isn't chasing history. She is history.
She's the blueprint, the ceiling. She is women's wrestling. She's the CEO of women's wrestling. Excuse me.
Pretty good little video package.
[00:48:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I liked it.
I like the little taste of unhinged. She would do, like. She would just scream, like, one word or something or, like, yell at the belt real quick and then get back to her normal cadence. And it's like, they're doing a great job selling this, like, gradual break, you know?
[00:48:28] Speaker C: She's holding together fine.
[00:48:29] Speaker A: She's fine. I've.
Look, women are fine.
[00:48:34] Speaker B: We've all been there.
[00:48:35] Speaker A: She's fine.
How are you?
Hey, surprise. We get a Beast Mortos match. So do we want to get our miniature sex jokes out of the way now?
[00:48:47] Speaker C: Oh, God. I'm gonna. I'm gonna go get a wall.
[00:48:50] Speaker A: We're gonna let it die. All right, so we're just gonna.
[00:48:53] Speaker B: Next match, we're gonna talk about bandit sex this time.
[00:48:57] Speaker A: Bandit sex. Bandit sex. That's just normal sex. All right, It's Bandito, the number one contender for the AEW Men's world title against the Beast Mortos and Beast mortals.
[00:49:09] Speaker B: Has Sammy Guevara?
[00:49:11] Speaker A: Sammy Guevara made TV.
[00:49:15] Speaker B: At least? He's just there.
[00:49:17] Speaker A: Yeah, he's just there. He doesn't actually hang up for the match, which is probably.
[00:49:22] Speaker B: Yeah, he doesn't interfere or anything. I kind of thought that they realized this should just be, like, a big top offense face, almost fa. Because people love Mordo, so. Yeah, I think this is the first time I've heard Beast Mordo solo music. Like, it's like that crazy, like, heavy metal song. Like, it was really good, actually. I like it.
[00:49:39] Speaker A: It's been a while since he's done it, I think. Yeah.
[00:49:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Normally they come out to, like, Sammy's music or something.
[00:49:46] Speaker A: Yeah, I Don't think I've seen him on TV in a while.
[00:49:48] Speaker B: It was sick. Good job, Ruckus. I enjoyed that.
[00:49:51] Speaker A: So, like, yeah, this is. This is pretty much going to be like you. Like you. You see the two guys involved in the Bachelor, it's like, okay, yeah, I'm in.
[00:49:59] Speaker B: Yeah, we know. This is going to be amazing.
[00:50:02] Speaker A: And they. They start out doing, like, a series of, like, really athletic counters and all that other stuff. And then Bandido grabs his cape and he's going to do some bull fighting.
[00:50:12] Speaker B: There was a lot of shenanigans on this show. A lot of goofs shenanigans.
[00:50:17] Speaker A: And I'm. I'm fairly certain that he was that, like. Because he's doing bull fighting, that just means he's going to murder beast mortals, which I do not approve of.
[00:50:26] Speaker B: He's going to stab him with a long, thin sword through his neck until he bleeds out in the middle of the ring.
[00:50:33] Speaker A: Yeah, that's.
[00:50:34] Speaker B: People will cheer. Children will have it as a memory.
You're muted.
[00:50:39] Speaker C: I was gonna say by.
[00:50:41] Speaker B: If.
[00:50:41] Speaker C: By bull fighting, you mean that, bro, Brody King came up to beast mortals before for the match and stabbed him before he got in the ring, then.
[00:50:50] Speaker B: Yes. Like him up. Yeah. Yes.
Bull fighting is one of the few things less moral than pro wrestling.
[00:50:57] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:51:00] Speaker B: We have that ground for once. Yeah.
[00:51:02] Speaker A: After a few passes of the. Of the cape, beast Moto says, wait a minute. This is deeply offensive to me and my people. And he just headbutts sp.
[00:51:13] Speaker B: He just says he's sick of that. And smash.
[00:51:16] Speaker C: Wait a sec. Wait a second. This isn't the Fed. Yeah, Yeah.
I don't have to do this.
Oh, that's funny.
[00:51:26] Speaker A: They do some. They do some more cool lucha stuff, and they exchange a bunch of near falls until Mortos just says, no, this. And bites Bandido's fingers when he does, like, the finger gun point to him.
[00:51:37] Speaker B: Yeah, that was a good spot.
[00:51:39] Speaker A: And he sends Mortos to the floor. Bandido puts his cape on, and he. He's super bandito. He flies. Does a big dive to the floor.
[00:51:46] Speaker B: High up, too. Like, he really took off.
[00:51:50] Speaker A: Straight up and straight down.
[00:51:52] Speaker B: Yeah, it was like three feet off the top turnbuckle to the floor. And the cape, like, flew off him in midair, too.
It was a. It was a nice effect.
[00:52:03] Speaker A: It was cool. I'll give him that.
You know, they're just having fun. They're having fun in pro cape. I am pro cape.
[00:52:10] Speaker B: I won't wear one, but I'll support you if you wear One.
I'd probably wear one if I got a nice one.
[00:52:16] Speaker A: Bandito's gonna go for. Bandito wants to go for another dive, but Morto's just kind of runs away and this disappears and he's like hiding behind the steps, so runs past him and he pops up and headbutts him again. It's like it was Mr.
[00:52:33] Speaker B: Rack.
[00:52:34] Speaker A: It was adorable. It was, it was cute. We have commentary being salty because Bryan Danielson is not on the show tonight.
[00:52:42] Speaker B: Yeah, this was a commercial break commentary. They said they're thinking of Danielson, like, and that he has Benjamin Button disease. And there's a little baby who is a man.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: And I love, I love. And then Tony Schiavone just like with that. As soon as he says, like he's, he's a grown adult, but he's actually a little baby. And Tony just immediately comes back with, yes and absolutely. Brian, we miss you and we do show up for work.
[00:53:18] Speaker C: God.
[00:53:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:53:20] Speaker C: Tony, Tony Shiv is what that is. Yeah.
Oh, that's amazing.
[00:53:27] Speaker A: Oh, it's so good.
[00:53:30] Speaker C: We come to work.
[00:53:31] Speaker A: Yeah, we actually come to work.
[00:53:40] Speaker B: His neck's held together with gum. Tony, give him a break.
[00:53:44] Speaker A: Yeah, it's fine. It's fine.
[00:53:46] Speaker B: You've never taken a bump, old man. Like, Christ.
Tony's probably taking like three bumps. I mean, he's sure he's done this.
He's been shoved over like a couple times. I know he's landed onto the bottom.
[00:54:02] Speaker C: He's been accosted by an NWO once or twice.
[00:54:06] Speaker B: Yeah, he's had his like they always do with announce where they just kind of grab the shirt and stuff like that and then kind of toss them to the side or something. Physicality.
[00:54:14] Speaker A: Bandido is finally is able to make his comeback. And he gets a deja vu head scissors and a frog splash for two.
Mortis comes back with his crucifix bomb and then his pop up Samoan drop.
[00:54:28] Speaker B: They always look so crisp. It's crazy.
[00:54:30] Speaker A: He gets that, he gets that torture rack back breaker.
[00:54:35] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:36] Speaker A: A couple discus lariats.
But then he misses a moonsault. And that's the opening that bandido needs as he gets the x knee, the 21 peck, 21 plex. And he really kind of sold how big Mortos was.
[00:54:52] Speaker B: He like muscled mortals up from the ground.
[00:54:55] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:54:56] Speaker B: It was crazy looking.
[00:54:58] Speaker C: He, I, I, I never doubted him for a second because he's not human. He's mandido.
[00:55:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
Bandito is like one of the most deceptively strong people. He's probably, like, Claudio level strength in terms of the stuff.
[00:55:12] Speaker C: Yeah. That you just. You can't imagine, but, like, holy shitty, he did it. Yeah.
[00:55:16] Speaker B: It doesn't look like you should be able to do that, but you. He could do that.
[00:55:20] Speaker A: You can.
[00:55:20] Speaker C: Absolutely wild.
[00:55:22] Speaker A: Really fun match. Exactly what you'd hope to see from both these guys.
[00:55:25] Speaker B: Yep. Nice little sprint.
[00:55:27] Speaker A: We go to the back, and Renee is with Bandido and Birdie King. So Berdido are together. She asked Bandido, does this give him momentum as he goes into his title match at maximum carnage? And he says something in Spanish, which I don't understand, but Bernie translates and says Bandido is the most wanted around the world. And when he gets the AEW men's world title, the target will be even bigger. And he's first in line. But right now he has work to do.
[00:55:54] Speaker B: That's a good little promo.
[00:55:56] Speaker A: It was a good promo. Short. Sweet. I like that they. They let him cut one in Spanish, and then Brody just translated.
[00:56:03] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a nice way of doing it. Yeah, I think that's a good way of doing it, because even when it's not even in Spanish, you could still, like, the energy of it comes through. You're like, oh, yeah, yeah, dude. Like, he's Bandito. He's so into it and stuff. You get behind him if you can't understand it. But then getting that little context.
[00:56:18] Speaker A: He's passionate and cool, and we love him.
[00:56:20] Speaker B: Yep. Never wears a shirt.
[00:56:22] Speaker A: The work that Brody has to do, though, is he is on a. He's got a standby match.
We've got.
[00:56:28] Speaker B: This was weird.
[00:56:30] Speaker A: They've brought back the standby match gimmick for one night only.
[00:56:33] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:56:34] Speaker C: It's tbs.
[00:56:36] Speaker A: Big shot at. Lee Johnson is taking on Brody King.
[00:56:40] Speaker B: It's the old jobber entrance. Lee Johnson.
[00:56:43] Speaker C: Yeah. That's unfortunate.
[00:56:46] Speaker A: It is unfortunate. He does make. He makes the best of the time that he's got, though. Like, he. He takes it to Brody. He does a big dive before. While Birdie's doing his entrance.
[00:56:57] Speaker B: I'm very pro. Big, shoddy. Lee Johnson. I think he's fantastic. I also. I like Christian. I enjoy the swirl. Like, it's fun. Good stuff. I've been watching Ring of Honor because I have the subscriptions over on the paper. You. I'm like, oh, yeah, these guys are fantastic.
[00:57:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:57:12] Speaker A: Um, it's. Yeah, this, like. It's like a very, very short squash because, you know, standby match.
I think Johnson made the best of it before Berta King takes his head off with a Lariat cannonball, Senton, gonzo bomb. And thanks for coming, Lee Johnson.
[00:57:31] Speaker B: You got paid.
[00:57:32] Speaker A: You got paid. Go. Go to the pay window tonight.
[00:57:36] Speaker B: Get that TV bump.
Yeah, it was good.
[00:57:42] Speaker A: Good squash. Nothing special.
Speaking of nothing special, it's a Darby Allen promo.
[00:57:47] Speaker B: So he mentioned Everest.
[00:57:49] Speaker A: Yeah, he meant Everest mentioned Do a. Do a shot on the bingo card. He's not numb to the pain. He's more aware of it. He knows people don't approve his lifestyle and his beauty of what he does. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[00:58:04] Speaker B: I don't remember things we don't approve of.
Darby. Not just PO Style.
[00:58:09] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's. Yeah, that's the problem. We have the lifestyle.
[00:58:15] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the lifestyle.
[00:58:16] Speaker C: That's why I wish Everest would have won. The lifestyle. Sure.
[00:58:20] Speaker A: And then he. He gets, like, more solemn, and there's, like, nostalgia piano music for some reason, and I just like, what? And it seems to cut off immediately because he's.
[00:58:29] Speaker B: I saw people online that were like, oh, I love that promo. That was so good. I was.
This is the worst of his, like, film school pretensions. Like, I. You can tell Darby went to film school for, like, a semester, and it gets infused into his. And so the pro.
[00:58:44] Speaker A: The.
[00:58:44] Speaker C: The promos have been getting progressively worse, in my opinion. He had a pretty good one a couple months ago.
[00:58:51] Speaker B: I used to like. Like his old, like, shorts.
[00:58:53] Speaker C: All right.
[00:58:53] Speaker B: His little vignettes he'd make that were, like, silent and, like, those were at least inventive and stuff. I'm just.
[00:59:02] Speaker A: I just. I just don't.
I don't know. I will.
[00:59:06] Speaker C: I don't understand why he's so over. And I just.
[00:59:09] Speaker B: I.
I'm sure he'll have a singles match on the next pay per view.
[00:59:14] Speaker A: Yeah. He wants to wrestle Pac again because he's the only Death Rider that he hasn't beat.
Okay. I. I hope.
[00:59:23] Speaker B: Gotta beat them all. The story's not over till he does that, so we gotta keep it going.
Been feuding with him since before we went to Everest.
[00:59:30] Speaker A: But here's. Here's the thing about Darby Allen right now is he wants to keep feuding with the Death Riders, but if we learned anything from the Continental Classic, it's that Jon Moxley was right.
[00:59:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:42] Speaker A: Which makes Darby wrong.
[00:59:45] Speaker B: Yeah, that's true. Yeah. Yep.
[00:59:47] Speaker A: Get.
[00:59:49] Speaker C: Did I say, like, if he's gonna keep doing this? And until he beats Pac, I just think, go, go. Full on Razor Ramon. One, two, three, Kid. Where it's just, like, how many times, you know, but, like, just how many times I gotta kick your ass?
[01:00:10] Speaker B: That'll be. The next pay per view match will be packed versus Darby in a diaper match.
[01:00:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:00:14] Speaker C: God damn it. Not that hard. The. The beating of, like, five times.
[01:00:18] Speaker B: Yes, I know.
[01:00:19] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:00:20] Speaker B: God damn it.
[01:00:21] Speaker C: Like, listen, just destroy that twig.
[01:00:23] Speaker A: End of the day, if people want to like Darby, that's fine. But, like, I think that we collectively are have.
[01:00:30] Speaker B: It's fine in that there's nothing we can do about it.
[01:00:33] Speaker A: There's nothing we can do about it. I don't book the show. I don't have to like him. I. I took a shower at the pay per view when his match with Gabe Kid was on.
It timed it perfectly. I even washed my hair.
It's just like, I need the guided.
[01:00:49] Speaker B: Like, it's the anti smoke break. It was the wet break.
[01:00:52] Speaker A: If the guy needs to be like, we have to have the guy. I want him to do something else because he's. I'm boring.
[01:00:59] Speaker B: I think absence makes the heart grow fonder. And, like, he's getting to the Jericho level where it's like, all right, you've been really front and center for a while now. Like, if you even just held him back for a little bit, let people miss him a little bit again, it would probably go down easier.
[01:01:15] Speaker A: It's the doodle meme.
The ninja with the stick poking at him. Be like, come on, do something.
[01:01:23] Speaker B: Let him work in GCW for a few months or something.
[01:01:26] Speaker C: Well, I just. Breaking news. I just saw a thing that the MGF is gonna be defending the World Championship at Indy.
[01:01:35] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:01:35] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:01:35] Speaker B: So, like, was it Limitless or something like that?
[01:01:40] Speaker C: And I gotta go.
I can't.
[01:01:42] Speaker B: He's been doing. I know.
[01:01:43] Speaker C: Break news and actually do it.
[01:01:45] Speaker A: Yeah, he's probably gonna do.
[01:01:47] Speaker B: Limitless is like one of his. Yeah, that's one of his.
[01:01:49] Speaker C: Like, OG.
[01:01:52] Speaker B: Any promotions.
Yeah, he was part of GAW for.
[01:01:55] Speaker C: A while, running against Alec Price at limitless on January 16th.
[01:02:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I love Alec Price. I've seen him a few times.
[01:02:02] Speaker C: Well, he's getting a. He's getting a title shot.
[01:02:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:02:07] Speaker B: I might actually sign up for IWTV and watch that. We'll see.
[01:02:11] Speaker A: We'll see.
Hey, yeah, so if I got. We have a really great match next to talk about.
It's a continental championship eliminator match between John Mox Bald vs. Bald and Josh.
[01:02:24] Speaker C: Alexander bald on bald crime.
[01:02:26] Speaker A: They have updated some of the rules for the eliminators for the continental title. So they basically follow the rules of the tournament now. 20 minutes none of the title matches are allowed to have people at ringside. But yeah, 20 minutes.
Alexander.
If Josh Alexander wins or makes it through 20 minutes without being beaten, he will get a title shot.
Good for him.
[01:02:53] Speaker B: Yes.
Yeah, I always like, like Ring of Honor does it with like a 10 minute.
But it's a good concept to like let you know the proving grounds is what they call them. But yeah, the same idea. Okay. You got to earn the title shot and you can even just survive this long, you at least get a go at it.
[01:03:08] Speaker C: I, I'm, I'm liking that. They are.
Seems like they're trying to immediately reestablish the Continental Championship as like an ongoing thing too, outside of the C2. Because I feel like the first one, the first one Eddie wanted and then he kept coming out with a belt and people were like, wait, what?
You know, and then they'll kind of. God. And it's just like, yeah, I'm defending it but I'm not dropping it. So it's like, okay. Was ever really, you know, briefly unified.
[01:03:42] Speaker B: With the international title too. And it's like, yeah, yeah.
[01:03:46] Speaker C: So it's not even a thing. So it's like I, I want, I like that they're establishing these rules because they're establishing, you said like roh. It's like a peer title. It's like it's a title that has.
[01:03:57] Speaker B: Specific rules, it's conditions. Yeah.
[01:04:00] Speaker C: It has specific conditions for this title. And what it means to have the title is, is that whoever is holding.
[01:04:08] Speaker B: The title, you have to be boss.
[01:04:09] Speaker C: When C2 comes around, you have to be bald and you instantly get into the, the tournament.
[01:04:17] Speaker B: You know what I mean? They should bring out a bald belt like only wrestlers can compete for.
I mean, we'll get to it later. But Shelton Benjamin's like a nice. So it is.
[01:04:31] Speaker A: Damn.
[01:04:33] Speaker B: The big bald belt.
[01:04:35] Speaker C: Yeah, that's the triple B. Yeah.
[01:04:37] Speaker B: The front page. The front place is just like Homer Simpson's head.
[01:04:42] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. There you go. Good stuff.
[01:04:45] Speaker A: Wow.
Mox is making his entrance through the crowd and he's, he's kind of doing normal until he tries to jump over the barricade. They kind of stumbles because he's still selling the foot injury from the pay per view because since we didn't get to talk about it, I'm going to gush about it right here. Jon Moxley's performance in the C2 at world's end was an all timer baby face turn.
Holy. That's one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
Like it was a good pay per.
[01:05:19] Speaker B: View but he was the highlight of.
[01:05:20] Speaker C: It and it was a show long thing and it's aspects of it couldn't have been planned because he broke a tooth in the first match.
[01:05:30] Speaker B: Yeah, like clank that off the stairs.
[01:05:33] Speaker C: Oh my God.
[01:05:36] Speaker B: I would say Moxley versus Fletcher was the match of that pay per view for that was one of the best Moxley matches I've seen.
[01:05:44] Speaker C: Well, well, yeah, but like, well Jeff, he was fighting Kyle Fletcher so it had to be a match of the year contender.
[01:05:50] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. I mean that's. It's funny how all the, every time this happens like all throughout the C2, everything like they're like, oh my God.
Speedball. Mike Bailey just put on like the best match of the year. Oh my God. Kevin Knight just put on like the best match of the year. It's like all of these best matches of the year. It's always Kyle Fletcher is the other person on the other side has been.
[01:06:09] Speaker C: Saying it's been saying it. It's like you anyone who.
It's like, what? Yeah, no, I think Kyle Fletcher might just be real good.
Like yeah, they gave us a little osprey or whatever. But like, nah, dude, I think Kyle Fletcher might be the best in the business right now.
[01:06:27] Speaker B: Like way up there. Like, I mean.
[01:06:29] Speaker C: Oh wow.
[01:06:30] Speaker A: It's like I do, I do want to give credit to Fletcher but like because like it takes two to tango and like there was, there was like so like there were people that were, you know, 100 behind Fletcher winning the whole thing. And then it was interesting because like by the time I got around to checking Blue sky after that match, I was kind of expecting to see like a bunch of people mad about box winning and nobody was mad about it.
Holy.
[01:06:58] Speaker B: The performance won everybody over.
[01:07:00] Speaker A: They were just like, that was incredible.
That was, that was just fan. It was fantastic. It was perfect.
[01:07:07] Speaker C: The. The story.
The story throughout the whole show. The through it was a.
That that's the thing too is from the opening match through Mox's first match of the night into that finale, all had a story through line that went from the beginning to the end.
Just like unreal.
[01:07:33] Speaker B: And even beyond that, like with the ankle being from the Kyle O'Reilly matches, like, yeah, long term thing going. It's just work.
[01:07:40] Speaker C: So wait, this is good long term storytelling.
[01:07:44] Speaker A: Holy.
[01:07:45] Speaker C: This is the kind of one. This is the best kind of long term term storytelling because you don't even necessarily realize that they're doing it to you. That's the best Kind until you get there and you go, oh, this is.
Oh, why do I want this to wi. Why. Why am I cheering this?
Oh, well, because, because he was right and you've been watching him.
I, I hate to say it because this movie, that's a different podcast, but it's. He's been going one battle after another for the last, like, year, trying to prove his point. And then he gets the end of it. And like, he's, he's, he's limping, he's dying, he's whistling because he broke a tooth. Like, like he's all up. But he was right and he was saying this.
[01:08:32] Speaker B: If you don't, like, somebody choke them out with a plastic bag and you will be in. Yes.
[01:08:39] Speaker C: You will eventually be vindicated for doing something.
[01:08:41] Speaker B: That's how you solve all your problems. Choke your enemies with plastic bags like, it's America.
[01:08:48] Speaker A: Before I actually get into the match, like, one thing I do want to highlight again, like, when the minute that I knew that mox was definitely 100% turning was when he mentioned Orange Cassidy in one of his post C2 match promos and he just, like, it was after the Orange Cassidy match. He's like, you said that you would never change, but you have. You're a better wrestler now.
[01:09:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:09:13] Speaker A: And it's kind of like the same, the same thread that, like, what Swerve was talking about was like, everybody he's wrestled, he's feuded with have come out better at the end.
[01:09:20] Speaker B: He's made better. Yeah, very true. And I knew he was the face when he started doing the elbow suicidas again.
Like, okay, he's. Yeah, he's going for.
[01:09:32] Speaker C: Jeff. Good call.
[01:09:35] Speaker B: That's the indicator.
Well, what's out the lucha.
[01:09:41] Speaker A: If there was any doubt that John Moxley was a baby face at this point, the crowd is just loving him and booing Josh Alexander, this entire thing. Alexander jumps him at the bell.
They. They're just slugging it out. And every time they try to get into like these. Yeah, they keep trying to get these strike exchanges and Josh Alexander's like, no, I'm going to go destroy your already damaged ankle.
[01:10:06] Speaker B: Josh was a good pick for a first, like, challenge of this fight. After face turn Moxley because he's such a good utility guy and he's part of the Don calls family, which is so on the heel side. They really let, like, Mox's new face dynamic get a chance to shine and it gives him. Yeah, she's good.
[01:10:23] Speaker A: A test against another submission specialist.
[01:10:26] Speaker B: Yeah, very much so. Yeah. Who uses an ankle lock just like.
[01:10:30] Speaker A: Yeah, he tapped out to Darby, he tapped out to Kyle.
So, no, nobody's chanting tap, tap, tap, or you tapped out or anything that stuff at him anymore.
[01:10:40] Speaker B: Yep. Now they don't want them to not tap out.
[01:10:43] Speaker A: They want him to not tap out.
[01:10:45] Speaker B: Yeah. That story, though.
[01:10:49] Speaker A: It'S.
I, I really wish that I had, like, a whole lot of things. This is one of those matches.
[01:10:57] Speaker B: I didn't have tons of notes.
[01:11:00] Speaker A: No, I took a lot of.
[01:11:01] Speaker B: Because there weren't a ton of, like, spots. It was a lot of them just, like, kicking the out of each other.
[01:11:05] Speaker C: I was gonna say, all I really have to say about this is that Josh Alexander looks like a goddamn murderer coming out of this. Like, like, Moxley made him look so good.
Like, this whole thing was just, is. Yeah. This match ruled. This match ruled. Jon Moxley is, he's the ace. Like, he's the ace. And he was right. And I'm proud to have named my kitty after him.
He, he, he, he's awesome. I, I, I goddamn love him.
[01:11:38] Speaker A: Oh, I mean, like, if we're going to, like, break down how this, this, the story of this match worked is Josh Alexander trying to go after the leg as much as possible. Mox, whatever he actually has his feet under him, is able to just pummel the. Out of them lariats, all that other stuff. And it's.
[01:11:59] Speaker C: I'm gonna kill you until you die.
[01:12:02] Speaker A: Every John Moxley match I've seen for it feels like the last two months is just like, boy, I wish I still had testosterone in my body because I would run through a wall.
[01:12:14] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, right.
No, he's just been on a journey.
[01:12:20] Speaker A: Like, if I, if I wanted to still have hair on my chest, this match would do it.
[01:12:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:12:28] Speaker C: Like, oh, that was. And I'm just sitting here over here like, oh, man, that match was fantastic. Excuse me, I have to go shave my knuckles now. I, I appreciate it. Like, hey, I upped my T blockers. That's fine.
Yeah, they're like, hey, have you been watching a lot of Jon Moxley matches lately? Because your numbers are.
Yeah, I'm like, you didn't take form.
[01:12:52] Speaker B: How many gun matches have you.
[01:12:53] Speaker A: Yeah, you need to, you need to double your spiro intake if you're.
[01:12:58] Speaker C: I've been watching a lot of Moxley and I just haven't been pissing enough.
[01:13:01] Speaker B: So if we see. You gotta watch some TJPW to counteract it. Gotta watch the Mizuki matches.
[01:13:10] Speaker A: Go watch some Joshi. It'll be fine.
[01:13:13] Speaker B: We'll figure out which hormone each promotion is each restaurant.
[01:13:17] Speaker C: Oh, no. I'll tell you this.
Cindy Lauper hits different on estrogen. I should watch some Joshi and see if it hits different on estrogen.
That's a side quest.
[01:13:28] Speaker A: This is. This is just. This is just.
[01:13:30] Speaker B: This is a good match.
[01:13:31] Speaker A: Yeah, Good match. Yeah. Like, there's, like, a lot of the. The psychology stuff. Like, Josh Alexander kind of pushing mocks off the top rope, but, like, making sure he landed feet first so that he kept injuring the leg.
[01:13:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:13:47] Speaker A: Mox selling it like, he couldn't even throw a chop because his leg hurt so bad. He could get the right. Yeah.
[01:13:53] Speaker B: He couldn't post off it. Yeah.
[01:13:56] Speaker C: Like, it's like he heard those people complain that. That no one was selling blood and guts.
Like, a week later, he's like, okay, fine.
[01:14:05] Speaker B: You like, I'm gonna like the young bucks when people said they weren't selling. So Matt hit his back at Wrestle Kingdom and sold it for 12 years after.
[01:14:14] Speaker C: That's funny. As I did. I. Okay, Stop making me like them.
[01:14:21] Speaker B: Stop it. They don't sell. So I think it was a. It was a new Japan show. Like, maybe Motor City machine guns, like, back body dropped him a bunch and his backup, and he sold it. This is my consistent selling thing for literally, like, every year since, like, his thing.
[01:14:36] Speaker C: You got. Stop making me like the bucks. I don't appreciate you making me like the bucks. Every time I learn Deep Bucklore, I love them more because they're just little brats.
[01:14:48] Speaker B: They get pro wrestling.
[01:14:50] Speaker A: They get it.
[01:14:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:14:52] Speaker C: They're just little brats.
I can't help. I love me a little brat. Let me a little.
But yeah, now Mox is gonna sell this.
He's like.
He's like, what's his name? And Jeffrey Combs in the Frighteners.
This is such a niche reference, but my body is a road map of pain. Is where he's gonna be at the end of this. Like, he's just like.
[01:15:20] Speaker B: It was a good movie, too.
Thank you, Peter Jackson.
[01:15:25] Speaker A: Shout out to the Frighteners.
[01:15:27] Speaker C: Shout out to Frighteners.
[01:15:28] Speaker B: Michael J.
[01:15:29] Speaker A: Fox.
[01:15:29] Speaker C: Love you, Jake.
[01:15:31] Speaker B: Be the P.O. loves Michael J. Fox. Yeah, it's a good movie. Yeah, I watched it pretty recently.
[01:15:36] Speaker C: That holds up. Yeah. Anyway. All right.
[01:15:40] Speaker B: Doesn't miss.
Wait, what?
[01:15:45] Speaker A: I didn't say anything about minotaur sex. All right. Mox moxes up at some point or another and just, like, says, no, I have to. I have to be. I have to be a man.
And he fights through, but just like every Every. Every single time that he gets, like, a little momentum, Josh Alexander cuts him off, cuts him off, cuts him off.
And then eventually Mox gets the tope.
[01:16:12] Speaker B: Yep. The face turns out. We'll see you.
[01:16:15] Speaker A: He backdrops Josh and then lariats him. Josh goes to the floor to create separation, and that's what Mox does. Tope, which was awesome. Yeah.
Back in the ring, takes his straps.
[01:16:27] Speaker B: Down and Mox just kills him. Like.
[01:16:29] Speaker A: Yeah, like.
And they get down to about five minutes, and commentary is like, is Josh Alexander just gonna try and run out the clock?
[01:16:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:16:39] Speaker A: And it seems like that's what he's gonna try and do is just, like, put Mox in a submission and hold him there. But Mox gets the bulldog choke and then does the hammer, anvil, elbows, and then choke again. And Josh Alexander taps out like, he does not pass out of the church. He taps.
[01:16:56] Speaker B: If he holds it, he fights for a minute. He really does. But then, like, when he's going down to the ground, he taps, and at some point, he got split open, like, above his eye, too. So, like that last. The last shot where he's doing the hammer and elbows, and Mox knocks the headgear off of him and there's just blood coming down. It looked sick.
Like, that was really cool.
[01:17:15] Speaker C: I got nothing to add to that.
[01:17:19] Speaker A: Yeah, this. This match ruled.
God, like, if this is what John Moxley as Continental Champion is going to be like just every week, just having a stiff match with another awesome wrestler every single week. Yeah. Really good for it. Keep doing it.
[01:17:35] Speaker C: I'm here for it. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:17:37] Speaker B: What they're saying.
[01:17:38] Speaker C: No, no, that's a way to. That's a way to continue his. His Death Rider struggle session within the bounds of. Of, like, a structure. It's like, okay, you can. You can continue to go beat the. Out of the entire roster because they suck and they aren't good enough.
[01:17:56] Speaker B: I guess some of the challengers can have hair.
[01:18:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:18:00] Speaker B: But they have to wear bald caps while they're fighting.
[01:18:03] Speaker C: Now, the national title, that. That one, you gotta be.
[01:18:06] Speaker B: I would love to see, like, Speedball with a bald cap doing it. Speedballed.
[01:18:12] Speaker A: Speedball.
[01:18:14] Speaker C: Speedball. Yes.
[01:18:16] Speaker B: Speedballed, my baby.
[01:18:18] Speaker A: What, Jeff, what we referred to earlier about the. The ball, this being the bald title is. It appears that the next person to challenge Jon Moxley will be Shelton Benjamin, or he's at least going to get an Eliminator match.
I think they said it'd be Eliminator next week.
[01:18:33] Speaker B: That's the plan. Yeah. Eliminator Next week, which I would love for that to turn into an actual challenge.
Apparently Bobby Lashley is legitimately hurt. He's gonna be out for a little while. I think we talked about this before. I really want them to still keep Sheldon in focus, like, still doing stuff. Because he is one of the best wrestlers in the entire world. It has been for 30 years straight.
[01:18:54] Speaker C: Like, is Shelton willing to. To take pins.
Is. Is he one of the ones who's willing from moxie?
[01:19:02] Speaker B: Yeah, probably.
[01:19:03] Speaker C: All right, cool then. Yeah, let's go. Is he willing to. To fight anyone other than MVP is.
[01:19:09] Speaker B: Very like, hardcore about protecting these guys and making sure they're doing like they're protecting. But I. He understands like, hierarchy and stuff.
[01:19:16] Speaker C: Like, over it, get over it. I didn't realize that was a thing.
[01:19:22] Speaker B: I love what he's saying with like, Bobby Lashley should be presented as like somebody that is very hard to beat. Like, yes.
[01:19:29] Speaker C: And yeah, sure, there's.
[01:19:32] Speaker A: There's degrees of it.
[01:19:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:19:34] Speaker A: So like, there's levels. My feeling on it is, is that yes, wins and losses matter and you should not lose all the time because if you lose all the time, then you're beatable. If you win all the time, then you're unbeatable. The both are. The thing is, is that like, guys just like being like, I will or won't lose to somebody and like, there's.
[01:19:59] Speaker B: Got to be nuanced to it.
[01:20:01] Speaker A: Yeah. There's got to be give and take. And if you can't have the give and take, then it's kind of useless. Yeah.
[01:20:06] Speaker C: Then what the.
[01:20:07] Speaker B: And that's the whole hurt. The hurt the her business. It's been litigated a million times.
[01:20:11] Speaker C: But yeah, I, I'm not trying to drag it up. I just like, I am behind on everything.
So like I. I've just heard about this. I was like, oh. I was like, is this why they were fighting the demand for like eight months? Oh, okay.
So all right. Yeah. Shelton seems more happy to do business. Okay, let's go.
[01:20:31] Speaker B: It seems like the pin eater scale is like Bobby's on the bottom and then Shelton and then MVP of like the people in the her business who are gonna possibly just eat a pin or two. Yeah.
[01:20:42] Speaker A: Let's see progression. Oh, there was a Triangle of Madness promo. Yay.
Sisters of Sin won at World's End. They beat Maya World and High End who are now signed to aew. Good for them.
[01:20:56] Speaker B: Yeah, good for them. Yeah. I love and I love my world. They're fantastic wrestlers. I saw High End a couple Times in Vegas. And she's really good.
[01:21:04] Speaker A: Tecla says that at World's End, Chris Statlander did what she does best. She spit in her friend's face and dropped her on her head.
Referring to that disgusting Mitchidoku driver thing Statlander did to Jamie Hater from the top rope. That made me go, holy.
[01:21:23] Speaker C: Yeah, it was like, second match in.
[01:21:25] Speaker A: A row I went, holy. Because Mox dropped Fletcher on his head in their match.
[01:21:31] Speaker C: God, there was a lot of that happening. Yeah.
[01:21:34] Speaker A: Although to be. To be fair, Statlander did her move a lot safer than Fletcher took his move.
[01:21:41] Speaker B: Yeah, it just looked brutal, but it was.
[01:21:43] Speaker A: It looked. It looked really nasty.
[01:21:44] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, God, no, dad.
[01:21:46] Speaker B: Dude, we.
[01:21:47] Speaker C: We.
Speaking of, like, talk stopping and talking about World's End, that bump that. That sleeper suplex from the top rope bump that Kyle Fletcher took.
I.
I, like, screamed where we were streaming it in the chat. And, like, I, like, like, I stopped mid sentence and just, like, went, oh, my God, like, he's dead. He's dead. I, like, I did a full on junior. Like, he get that killed and he killed him. He's dead.
What are we gonna do now? We just killed the man.
So the fact that he just, like, you know, walked it off, I'm just like, Jesus, he's another one. He's not human. He's the protostar. Like, it does not make sense.
[01:22:32] Speaker B: Don Kales taught him how to tuck his chin. He's okay.
[01:22:35] Speaker A: He's fine.
Back to this promo, though.
[01:22:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:22:40] Speaker A: The road to success. The road to Statlander success is paved with former friends.
There's all. She's the only one on that planet of hers. Tecla's not buying it. She's. That she knows Stats lonely at the top. But, hey, let us take your place and we'll make it real toxic.
[01:22:55] Speaker B: I'm not trying to be negative here, but it is. There's such a disparity in charisma between Tecla and the Sisters of Sin. Like, that Julia and Sky are good and they do their little, like, dual speech pro. But, like, Tekla is just so much farther above everybody in terms of, like, you can't take your eyes off of her.
[01:23:15] Speaker A: Yes.
[01:23:15] Speaker B: Because he's just, well, crazy. And I mean, that's the point of the trio is so they can benefit from her.
[01:23:20] Speaker C: And yeah, there's a Silent Bob to her. J. Yeah. Like, she's gonna.
[01:23:26] Speaker B: And not. Not trying to decorate that more just to say, like, how good Tecla is, where it's just. Yeah, okay. She is just such an enchanting presence.
And. Yeah, I'm excited for that match.
[01:23:37] Speaker A: Yeah, that's gonna be a good match. I also remember this about Julia and Sky is that they've only been wrestling for, like, what, three or four years total.
[01:23:47] Speaker C: Yeah. Like.
Like, that goes like a vet, didn't she?
[01:23:51] Speaker B: That's why.
[01:23:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:23:52] Speaker B: I'm not trying to. Yeah, it's. And like I said, I get that's the point of the faction, and I think it's doing its job well for it.
She's just blows me away every time I see her. Yeah.
[01:24:03] Speaker A: Anyway. Bald. It's the AEW National Championship title match.
Ricochet defending against Jungle Jack Perry.
[01:24:13] Speaker C: The opposite of bald.
[01:24:15] Speaker B: Yep. That's where all the hair in the company went. Was on the jackpot. Yeah.
[01:24:21] Speaker A: His hair's still growing.
[01:24:22] Speaker B: That's it. Like the Soul Eater, he wakes up a little bit longer.
[01:24:31] Speaker A: All right. Luchasaurus. At zero hour, Luchasaurus got attacked and. And his arm is all banged up, and he's still heavily taped up.
There's a fan at ringside shows their belly at Ricochet. And I guess they're just trying to say, like, this is what your head looks like.
I didn't understand what was happening, but, like, Ricochet was jawing this guy for so long, they. It's. This ended up being a pretty good little match.
They meshed very well together, especially now that Jack's allowed to do his cool flippy face stuff again. This was a very good matchup for him.
[01:25:09] Speaker B: Yeah, it was a good. It was two late guys who are very agility focused, but on different sides of, like, the alignment spec, like, Ricochet's Ultra Heel. And Jack is back to being Ultra Face. So you really. Two guys who are putting on great moves, but are doing it with, like, that great crowd engagement. You get between them.
Yeah. Also, when they came out, Jack grabs a sign from a fan that says, Ricochet sucks eggs and likes it.
He got out of the crowd and, like, held it up in the ring to show the cameras.
Brilliant.
[01:25:42] Speaker C: Good.
[01:25:46] Speaker A: Yep.
[01:25:46] Speaker B: That's my little knife. Pervert.
[01:25:48] Speaker A: At some point or another, Toa Leona beats up Luchasaurus some more and then takes him out to the back. So it's just Bishop Khan out there.
[01:25:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:25:59] Speaker A: Oh, fun spot. Ricochet does a hair pull takedown on Jack Perry. So Jack Perry attempts to do a hair pull takedown on him as well. And it's just like, he just puts his hand.
He looks at it.
So he grabs him by the beard.
[01:26:16] Speaker C: Oh, God.
[01:26:17] Speaker B: Very fun.
[01:26:19] Speaker A: A lot of fun. I love that Jack Perry has just become this gremlin that bites and pulls hair.
[01:26:26] Speaker B: He's really like, found his niche of this character. Like, he's just. He has a lot. You can tell he's having a good time with it. And like the audience has fun because he's having fun.
[01:26:35] Speaker C: He's like, what, what, what if feral jungle child and scapegoat.
[01:26:42] Speaker B: Jack Terry. Jack Perry is a genuinely like, charismatic, funny dude. And it's like when you try and have him be a surly heel that doesn't get a chance to shine through as much. And it's like now you actually got him in a role where he can be likable and people like him.
[01:26:57] Speaker C: He's kind of, he, he's kind of like a us. He's not moody, but he's like got like that anti hero kinda kind of like goofy smirk, you know, sort of way again.
[01:27:12] Speaker B: He's a night burger, but he's a dice.
He's like.
[01:27:17] Speaker C: You know.
[01:27:18] Speaker A: Yeah, he's a little, little guy.
[01:27:21] Speaker B: Dennis the night.
[01:27:23] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, Exactly.
[01:27:28] Speaker A: God.
[01:27:30] Speaker B: Cuts Mr. Wilson's toes off.
[01:27:33] Speaker A: God.
So, yeah, there's. There's just a lot of chaos. There's springboards everywhere.
Jack's on the floor.
During the break, Excalibur is talking about how Ricochet used to have the most hair.
If you've ever seen young Ricochet, he used to have so much hair.
[01:27:52] Speaker B: So he was a really.
He was a really skinny, scrawny dude with like a giant afro. It was crazy looking.
[01:28:00] Speaker A: What's going on? Back on the commercial. Oh, Jack makes his comeback right as commercial comes back and he gets that corner, corner flip and then German suplex.
And it's, it's coming together like each time it gets a little bit better.
[01:28:14] Speaker B: He landed it. Yeah, he actually landed it. It looks better this time. Okay. Like I said, I liked it even when it was still a little funky. But it's cool.
[01:28:22] Speaker A: Yeah, Just make it look like it's fine.
[01:28:25] Speaker B: He's getting some good, like, trademark spots going.
[01:28:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
Ricochet hits a northern lights, holds on, turns it into a brain buster, then gets a standing shooting star for two. That's just like a thing that he does normally.
[01:28:39] Speaker B: Yeah, that's one of his standards. But it always looks so good that locomotion, like carry through his genuine superhero.
[01:28:46] Speaker A: Comebacker Lariat on Ricochet. And then he avoid. He sets up for the knee, but he, he, you know, rolls to the ring.
Jack does that cazadora bulldog thing on the floor.
[01:28:57] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[01:28:59] Speaker B: That's another one of his like signature Spots. He's been doing that. I really like that. It's nice because he can hit it on anyone too. It's always like he has a lot of options for it. Very smooth.
[01:29:09] Speaker A: Let's see.
[01:29:10] Speaker B: In general, have very good chemistry. Like, I even wrote that as a note. I was like, these two rule together.
[01:29:16] Speaker A: I was surprised at how well they worked together. It was really nice.
[01:29:19] Speaker B: Two generations of PWG guys.
[01:29:22] Speaker A: I don't think we've seen them.
[01:29:23] Speaker B: Yeah, not that I remember before. Maybe like a multi man or something at some point. But I don't even. Not that I'm aware of. I said they even kind of missed each other in PWG because Jungle Boy came there after Ricochet signed with wwe. I don't know, maybe they crossed paths at some point.
[01:29:40] Speaker A: So Jack gets a giant tornado. DDT sets up for the knee strike. But Bishop Khan grabs his foot. And the distraction causes let's ricochet hit the spirit gun. And that's three.
[01:29:52] Speaker B: Yeah. He gets the win. Here's the right call.
[01:29:55] Speaker A: Good call. Too soon for a title change. Let Ricochet build up the belt a little bit more, do some more international challenges. Toleona comes back carrying Luchasaurus like he's been beating him to death. And then just starts beating him to death more with a metal barricade. And Jack gets another spirit gun.
The demands start killing security guys like their hangman and swerve.
[01:30:21] Speaker B: And this is some genuinely bummer news. Luchasaurus is genuinely hurt. His shoulder got up. So he's gonna be out. Yeah, he's gonna be out for a while. And this was them writing him off, I assume.
[01:30:34] Speaker A: Dinosaur boy.
Poor, poor.
[01:30:36] Speaker B: Yeah. You can't catch a break.
Yeah, he does really good. And then something takes him back out. Well, hopefully it's not super long time though, if couple months.
[01:30:44] Speaker C: Singles. Singles face Jack Perry is the thing that I'm ready for.
[01:30:49] Speaker B: No, it's worked. Good.
Yeah.
[01:30:52] Speaker C: Liking it.
[01:30:53] Speaker B: We're praying for you, lizard man. We love you, big guy.
[01:30:56] Speaker A: The more they've moved him away from being like the, the, the farther they've gotten away from like the whole pillars thing, the better it's been.
[01:31:06] Speaker B: Better? Yeah.
[01:31:07] Speaker A: It's been like. It's put like so much less expectations, less pressure. It's clearly for Jack.
[01:31:17] Speaker C: I, I, I, I feel bad because this episode is going long. I'm sorry, Pip.
Because we. This episode is also kind of the World's End recap.
[01:31:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:31:28] Speaker C: I'm gonna be real brief here. I just want to say this very briefly.
Fuck the four pillars shit.
What the fuck Was that.
You know, is how I felt about the entirety of that.
That.
That sucked.
[01:31:49] Speaker B: Well, part of it is that only one of them was actually kind of really a pillar. Like, MJF was the only one that really was like. And it's more. So pillars would be more like MJF and Orange Cassidy and Hangman Page. Like, thank you.
[01:32:03] Speaker C: Thank you, thank you. I was like, you're talking about pillars, and there's no O.C. come on.
[01:32:07] Speaker B: No, you shouldn't declare people stuff like that until, like, I'm sorry, Sammy Guevara. You just. Because you've been.
You have never been a cornerstone of this company. It's never been, like, built on you.
[01:32:20] Speaker A: And.
[01:32:20] Speaker C: And it really. It felt like they were like, all right, we're gonna call y' all pillars, and it's gonna be this big push for you. And it's like, fed.
[01:32:26] Speaker A: Fed.
[01:32:27] Speaker B: Like.
[01:32:28] Speaker C: Like, that's how. Sir, that's not how you're supposed to be doing things here, Tony. Sir, I know you're listening. Like, you're doing better now.
Don't backslide, because. What the was that? Anyways, on to better things.
[01:32:41] Speaker A: Better things. Death Riders promo. They have commandeered a camera coup. Cameu camera crew.
[01:32:48] Speaker B: Camera.
[01:32:49] Speaker A: It's a camera. It's a camera crew coup.
[01:32:51] Speaker B: It was a blood. It was a bloodless camera crew.
[01:32:53] Speaker C: They commented a cameco.
It was a bloodless camera Couple knock.
[01:33:00] Speaker A: Says, the people who hurt people would have find.
[01:33:06] Speaker B: Excuse you Camera.
[01:33:11] Speaker A: Shout to Benjamin, and the people who hurt people want to find him. He ain't hard to find. Mox is edited the year right where he started it. On top of Claudia. Says they're masters of the craft.
Marina says something in Moldova that I really didn't understand at all because I don't speak Moldovan.
[01:33:27] Speaker B: Looked cool.
[01:33:29] Speaker A: It sounded great. She sounds awesome when she speaks.
Wheeler Yuta then chimes in and says he heard Darby's promo earlier. He's doing some revisionist history, and if Dabi wants pack, he's gotta go through the most dangerous death rider. Wheeler Yuta.
[01:33:48] Speaker B: Booze so loud that it bleeds into the promo. Like, no, you don't really hear the reactions for anybody else. But the second he gets to you that you hear booze from the crowd come through, man.
[01:33:58] Speaker C: Man's getting down Mysterio heat. I'm proud of that little.
[01:34:01] Speaker A: It's good. It's good.
[01:34:03] Speaker C: Erica, thank you. Thank you so much. I was wondering. I was like, whoever drives better do the voice.
[01:34:13] Speaker A: Because it doesn't matter if you're Darby Allen. Or the hurt syndicate for 2026. It's death riders against the world.
[01:34:20] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, it was.
[01:34:22] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:34:23] Speaker B: I like that little. Like, everybody gets a little promos. I did find it. That pack wasn't there.
What was he doing dry somewhere? I don't trust that.
[01:34:34] Speaker C: He's wetting his duck in his. Wetting his dry.
[01:34:39] Speaker B: He's taking chinchilla baths where he's covering himself.
[01:34:52] Speaker A: Have you ever seen them do that? It's adorable.
[01:34:54] Speaker B: Yes. It's precious. And I love picturing Pac's little mushroom. Yes. Frame Doing it with a little England dirt. Covering himself so he's not wet anymore.
You like me wet. How doing today?
[01:35:09] Speaker A: All right, we're almost done. We're almost done.
[01:35:13] Speaker B: Home stretch, home stretch, home stretch.
[01:35:16] Speaker A: Harley's with Willow. It's the last day of the year, but Willow is going to treat this match like it's the last day of her life. Willow says it's been 584 days since she lost the TBS title and she's waited forever to get a shot to reclaim the belt.
Renee is with mjf pointing out that he's got a target on his. Comes back again. He says he's not worried about Swerve, Hangman Joe, or Omega because he's a generational talent.
Arrives with bandido and says that the one he has to worry about is Bandito.
[01:35:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:35:44] Speaker C: And now, man, you.
[01:35:47] Speaker A: You.
[01:35:47] Speaker B: You really.
[01:35:48] Speaker C: You really. You really speed ran. That girl powered.
[01:35:53] Speaker A: I powered through it. I powered through it because it was. It's not really much.
[01:35:56] Speaker B: Got to get to this main event. It's. It's.
[01:35:58] Speaker C: Nothing in this main event is so good. Oh, my God.
[01:36:02] Speaker A: Is so good. This is awesome. TBS women's title. Mercedes Monet defending against Willow Nightingale. Willow pinned Mercedes in the tag title match at World's End, which set up this match.
[01:36:15] Speaker C: She also took her out for like a year and a half once.
[01:36:19] Speaker B: And Mercedes. Willow is who Mercedes took the TBS belt from originally starting her belt. Collector gimmick.
[01:36:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:36:26] Speaker C: Yep. So a lot going on here. All going on, like.
[01:36:30] Speaker A: Yeah, they recount, like the whole history between these two women. And it's as I think about it, like, there's been very little re interaction between Willow and Mercedes.
[01:36:39] Speaker B: They've done a good job keeping them separated.
[01:36:42] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:36:42] Speaker B: This feels like a big deal. This feels like an event match.
[01:36:46] Speaker A: It does. Because they even get like the big in ring announcements for the main event.
Mercedes attacks right away, just tossing Willow around. They break the LED screens. Good job on that.
Those things.
[01:37:00] Speaker B: This little segment's sick.
I'm sorry. I'm trying.
[01:37:04] Speaker C: I'm trying to. I'm trying to keep my together, but I just remembered this little bad.
All right. Oh, God.
Oh, I can't mute myself.
[01:37:14] Speaker A: I kissed about dust. Dust.
[01:37:19] Speaker C: God damn it. Yeah, no, I'm. I'm gonna derail the whole thing. Just.
[01:37:27] Speaker A: Okay. It's all right.
[01:37:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:37:30] Speaker A: Very good. Keep going.
All right, Mercedes.
Mercedes does a beat, tries to do a meteor, and then crashes into the barricade. And then Willow pounces her and, like, hits her into the other.
[01:37:46] Speaker B: Kills her with this.
[01:37:47] Speaker A: Like, good on Mercedes for taking this because she's basically ping ponging around the barricades there for a second.
[01:37:53] Speaker B: Yeah, she bounced off that wall. She hit. It was insane.
[01:37:57] Speaker C: Yeah. No, it was like pinball machine with an ultimo Monet. That was some good. She. She racked up 50, 60 points. Yeah.
Get a high score, Willow.
[01:38:07] Speaker A: Excellent. Excellent stuff.
[01:38:09] Speaker C: Oh, fantastic.
[01:38:10] Speaker A: They're. They're doing some grappling in the way ring. And Willow shows she's been watching her Okada matches because she tries to backslide.
[01:38:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:38:19] Speaker A: And holds onto the wrist and hits a short arm lariat. So good job, Willow. You watch your. Your Legends.
[01:38:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
Doing another game.
[01:38:29] Speaker A: She's.
Yeah. Basically, Willow's. Willow's stronger than Mercedes and it's helping carry her through the match because she gets her. She gets the corner Senton. And then the. The dive on the floor.
[01:38:43] Speaker B: And then there's a good balance of Willow strengths versus Mercedes being, like the technical and also being willing to cheat, like, doing like, like the underhanded stuff. So there a good little power dynamic that they do throughout this match.
[01:38:56] Speaker A: So they. They.
They do this spot where Willow's trying to get back in the ring and Mercedes sweeps her leg and Willow does this rag doll bump where her head hits the steps.
[01:39:08] Speaker B: Yeah.
Crazy.
[01:39:11] Speaker A: It looked nuts. It looks so cool. I think it. They. They mentioned it was like, kind of the same way Mox broke his tooth at the paper.
[01:39:18] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:39:19] Speaker B: Bouncing off them steps, it just made.
[01:39:21] Speaker C: Me go, oh, those steps are brutal.
Those steps are killer.
[01:39:27] Speaker B: Replace them with rubber.
[01:39:29] Speaker C: No, I mean, they.
[01:39:30] Speaker A: Sometimes I think that the way people bounce off them.
[01:39:33] Speaker B: Right. You almost hope so. Fine.
[01:39:36] Speaker A: So. Yeah. Mercedes now has the heat and she's. She's choking Willow in the center of the ring and she pulls like Willow's got, like, that little dog collar thing, and Mercedes pulls it back and it, like, takes her nail and, like, starts scratching her on the throat. Like, that was brutal.
Vampire.
That's so awesome.
[01:40:00] Speaker B: But I like that she's getting more unhinged as she's getting more, like, desperate to keep her belt. So she's doing these almost like.
Like, it's not cocky anymore. It's like, all right, I have to do what I have to do. Like, yeah.
[01:40:12] Speaker C: I will do murder to stop losing belts. I'm hemorrhaging belts. They won't even get me the boys anymore.
She doesn't even have belt.
[01:40:22] Speaker B: She's like Cersei from Game of Thrones. You had to build her up to break her down.
[01:40:25] Speaker C: There you go. There you go.
[01:40:27] Speaker A: Yeah. And actually, commentary mentions that she, Mercedes, is becoming more and more unhinged as she's letting her anger get the better of her.
[01:40:36] Speaker C: Oh, true champion of this match, though, the table.
I don't know if we got to. We didn't get to that spot where they get up on the commentary table. And it looks like Willow is going to babe with the power bomber. Dr. Bomber on the table, which is nuts.
But then.
Yeah. Switches around and did she, what, backdrop her? I can't remember.
Back body drops. Yeah, that's what. Yeah, okay. That's what it was. Snap, suplex. And it did not break the table.
So, like, everybody involved just kind of bounced.
And, like, that looked. That looked like it.
[01:41:23] Speaker B: Willow was just like, my last thing from World's End since we've been referencing back to it was when Stokely got thrown onto the table and bounced off the table, and then it slowly fell over onto him. Was one of the funniest things I've seen. It was completely unattended. It couldn't have been done on purpose, but it was one of the funniest moments of wrestling for the year for me.
[01:41:47] Speaker C: No, no, no. That. That was that. I watch it happen. He absolutely just fucked the physics.
Yeah, yeah, I know. You want to. You want to go. You want to. Like, it's like follow through. Like, you want to aim through to the. Behind the table. Wait, so that you're crashing through it, because if. Otherwise. Yeah. You're gonna bounce off. If you, like, miss go too far sort of thing. I've heard people describe this. It. Shoot interviews. I was like, that's terrifying. That you do physics. Or Mr. Deathmatch Wrestler, sir.
[01:42:18] Speaker A: Well, Bump in particular, I was under the impression that that's what. What happened was what he was aiming for.
[01:42:24] Speaker B: Oh, really?
[01:42:25] Speaker C: Because that looked like a botch to me.
[01:42:28] Speaker A: He's known for. He's known for taking bumps like that.
[01:42:31] Speaker C: Oh, I was un. I was unfamiliar with your bumps, sir, because that looked like a Up. That hurt quite a bit. So good.
[01:42:39] Speaker A: I'm sure it hurt a lot. But Stokely does has been known to take some fun bumps.
All right, so yeah, we, we kind of sped through like a bunch of this stuff.
The table spot looked like it sucked, but it was cool.
Mercedes is going to take that opportunity to try to take a count out win.
[01:43:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:43:01] Speaker A: And she's literally like celebrating in the ring and that's how close Willow beat the night. The ten count like that. Like usually it's like, oh, very obviously they're gonna make it in, but like Willow made it in like right under the wire and to the point where like Mercedes is cheering and like turns around. I was like, what the do I have to do?
[01:43:22] Speaker B: That was a great spot.
[01:43:23] Speaker A: Yeah, they, she all right. She, she tries to just get like a quick win. Tries a few roll ups, tries a statement maker.
Will is powering out.
The money maker gets blocked twice.
Willow gets her into that really tight pin that she beat Mercedes with at the pay per view.
[01:43:42] Speaker C: Yeah, that like wild, weird little.
[01:43:45] Speaker A: Yeah, they kind of grapple around on the ground a little bit more. But then Willow just stands up, power bombs Mercedes.
New champion.
Huge crowd. It was a purple confetti.
[01:44:00] Speaker B: Great moment.
[01:44:02] Speaker A: I'm surprised they had purple confetti just on standby like that. That's kind of crazy.
[01:44:07] Speaker C: That's wild. It's almost like they were gonna do.
[01:44:09] Speaker B: A Prince concert there years ago. That never happened. Yeah, it was really old.
[01:44:14] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:44:15] Speaker B: That's why they had Willow win it because they're like, well, we might as we got the Kentucky. I mean.
[01:44:20] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll do it. It's here.
Harley, of course, comes out to celebrate. The conglomeration and assorted conglomeration adjacent civilian warriors also come out to celebrate. It's a big party. All the faces are here.
[01:44:35] Speaker C: Tony and Mina, I think were out there because. Why not?
[01:44:37] Speaker B: Yeah, they came out. Were they? Or was that earlier?
[01:44:39] Speaker C: Yeah, they're out.
[01:44:40] Speaker B: Yeah, I think they were.
[01:44:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
Yeah. No, everyone was really out there then. And then they did that.
[01:44:48] Speaker A: Like, I, I, I personally felt very emotional when Willow hugged orange Cassidy because, like, I know they've been friends for a long time.
[01:44:55] Speaker B: Yeah, it was all.
[01:44:57] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, that, that's, that's the hug that everyone cares about. Yeah. But it was big.
[01:45:03] Speaker A: Second. Well, hold on, hold on.
[01:45:06] Speaker C: Was there another, Was there another one?
[01:45:08] Speaker A: There was another hug. So the women's world champion, Chris Statlander comes out and we all know that she's had a big history with over the last like two or three Years had their issues, they've had their difficulties.
[01:45:24] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:45:25] Speaker A: Am I right?
Chris Statlander still looks like she's dressed from a dude movie. And there's like a bit of remnants.
Yeah, they, they, they stare down a bit and then just like Willow just jumps into Statlander's arms.
[01:45:47] Speaker B: You have to give the people what they want.
[01:45:50] Speaker A: Got to give the couple what they want.
[01:45:54] Speaker B: Just stopping.
[01:45:59] Speaker A: This was so good. I will point out though that Chuck Taylor did not give permission to use to steal the pull out camera shot that they stole from Okada. So that's important.
[01:46:10] Speaker B: Honestly, you gotta stick it to Chuck Taylor a little.
But honestly, like such a. I didn't. I thought Willow was winning. You know, it seemed like that just was what the story was doing. In the back of my mind I was like, maybe they'll save that for a little bit. Have the TBS to be the last one. Mercedes loses.
[01:46:30] Speaker C: That's kind of what I thought about. Yeah, yeah.
[01:46:32] Speaker B: So it still genuinely surprised me when she won. And it was fantastic. Like everything I saw online, everybody was so happy. It was just a great way to end the year, honestly.
[01:46:44] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. It was like, what a way to cap off. Like one of probably. I mean that's like gotta be one of the best years of wrestling that has ever happened.
Like literally 2025 in every other aspect, both politically, geopolitically, personally.
[01:47:10] Speaker B: That's why it is the year we.
[01:47:12] Speaker C: But, but holy. The year we got rid of Jericho.
[01:47:15] Speaker B: Uprooted the learning tree.
[01:47:18] Speaker C: Oh my God. We got bounty hunter Brian Keith back. Yeah.
But just what a year. What a year.
[01:47:27] Speaker B: It was nice to go out on a happy note.
[01:47:29] Speaker C: I liked was a very good year.
[01:47:31] Speaker A: Of wrestling pitch perfect ending. No, no, just give people something happy to celebrate.
[01:47:39] Speaker B: Nice that Danielson was there, but he was dipping out of work.
[01:47:42] Speaker A: Oh. I was like, oh, yeah. You're the only one with a wife and kids, Daniel.
[01:47:48] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:47:51] Speaker C: I thought this is a very good show.
[01:47:53] Speaker B: Oh, I had fun watching this one. It's nice that it's back at normal time now. I didn't have to deal with weird thriller stuff, so I had to wait the next day. I actually got to watch it live again.
[01:48:05] Speaker A: Yep.
I completely almost forgot about it because I slept until 3pm yesterday.
Yesterday.
It's the second here.
[01:48:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:48:14] Speaker A: It was allowed.
[01:48:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:48:17] Speaker C: I was gonna say you're in Japan.
[01:48:21] Speaker A: Gloriously Palm.
[01:48:22] Speaker C: You're in the future.
Yes, glorious.
[01:48:26] Speaker A: I'm in the double future. Yes.
[01:48:28] Speaker C: Because we're the double future.
[01:48:30] Speaker A: 2026.
[01:48:32] Speaker B: God.
Crazy.
[01:48:35] Speaker C: Yeah. We're not broadcasting into the past. That's still way to start the show on an in a completely nonsensical bit. Fantastic.
[01:48:44] Speaker A: That. No, it's, it's that. What's that movie where what's his name?
Yeah.
[01:48:52] Speaker C: Oh God.
We, we. Folks, we're leaving. We're. I'm. I'm.
[01:48:59] Speaker A: Yeah, we're talking about frequency.
[01:49:03] Speaker B: Come tune into our frequency.
[01:49:07] Speaker C: Dennis Quinn.
But yeah, no, we're getting the out of here, folks. Enjoy wrestling when everything else in the world sucks. Wrestling is good.
[01:49:18] Speaker B: Happy wrestled acquaintance things be forgotten.
[01:49:27] Speaker C: Something something Ricky and blah blah.
Moxley was always right. All right, bye folks. I'm kicking.
[01:49:38] Speaker B: All right. Happy New Year and happy wrestling.
[01:49:41] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:49:51] Speaker C: Wow. You know, there was a whole 20 minutes of them just talking about how a bunch of ups they used to be like it was wild.
[01:49:58] Speaker A: Oh, used to be. I still am.
