[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the Earth was a dark, formless void.
But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling.
And with that, there was Monday, and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages.
On the second day, God got depressed, and lo, did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday.
On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo, did the people reply unto her.
We know what that means.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: Welcome back to another week of Wednesday night fake fights, where we talk all things aew. And we are here with a very special Extreme edition.
We are from 2300 arena, the famous ECW Arena. As always, I am one of your hosts, Jeff the Human Suplex Mongoose. Don't attack me, Taz.
And I'm here with a whole cadre of extremists. Yeah, I want to introduce yourselves.
[00:01:23] Speaker C: So do I get pipscaliber this week?
It's Piper Willow. I'm. I'm here. I'm always here.
[00:01:32] Speaker A: We're doing. If we're doing gimmicks, then I am the. The franchise Erica Warrens.
[00:01:37] Speaker B: Oh, there we go.
[00:01:40] Speaker A: Because disappointment follows me everywhere.
[00:01:46] Speaker D: And it was the night that Ella Taylor danced on top of the ECW Arena.
People paid her to put her clothes back on.
[00:01:59] Speaker C: Hey, nice work if you can get it.
[00:02:01] Speaker A: Yeah, I saw that ad way too many times as, like, a young child.
[00:02:06] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, that's what the extreme voice. I was trying to do, but it kind of caught.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: Yeah, the Joey. Joey Styles.
[00:02:14] Speaker D: Oh, my God.
[00:02:16] Speaker B: Like, yeah, can't fight.
[00:02:18] Speaker A: Can't fight.
[00:02:20] Speaker B: That's harder to do than Jimmy Hart.
[00:02:22] Speaker C: Yeah, it really is.
[00:02:23] Speaker A: It's quite funny how public opinion has turned against Joey Styles. Styles.
He used to get like, oh, he used to do it by himself. Props to the guy.
[00:02:32] Speaker B: Yeah, no, yeah, that was awesome.
[00:02:34] Speaker A: That guy happened to Joey Styles.
[00:02:37] Speaker B: There was some stuff that I remember. People were just like, oh, okay, well, you.
[00:02:42] Speaker C: Then I feel like there was some of that. And then, like, the more you go back and watch old ECW stuff, the more it's like, yes, I know this is old ECW grosser.
[00:02:51] Speaker B: A lot of it is.
[00:02:52] Speaker C: But like, damn, Joey, that's really lecherous. Like.
[00:02:55] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I think you might be getting him confused with, oh, what's his name? Joel Gertner.
[00:03:02] Speaker D: Always do it.
[00:03:05] Speaker B: Yeah, well, when he'd be talking about, like, the women, he's just like, oh, yeah, look at that.
[00:03:11] Speaker D: Like, yeah, yeah, no, no, like that. That was my experience going to ecu because, like, remember.
[00:03:17] Speaker B: All right, folks.
[00:03:18] Speaker D: Hi. Ella Taylor here, by the way. I go by Ella now. That's the first time I'm doing that outpod.
So you might know. You may know me from such bad guesses. Monday night fake fights.
[00:03:30] Speaker C: Never heard of it.
[00:03:32] Speaker B: Where.
[00:03:33] Speaker D: Where we were watching 90s WWF and going, Jesus Christ. It's referenced when I watched ECW for the first time as a grown up.
Back to some of that old stuff. I was just like, holy.
It was that experience times 10. So, like, as like, awful as it is every week on that show, go listen. And hopefully coming back if I can.
[00:03:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:03:59] Speaker D: You know, get day job.
So, like, yeah, it was bad. It's real bad. And sometimes people be like, you should do DCW show. And I was just like, you need to pay me so much money.
[00:04:12] Speaker C: You don't want that as much as you think you want that.
[00:04:15] Speaker D: Yeah, it's just gonna be a whole bunch of me going, they're beating women. This isn't women's wrestling. This is them being women. Like, this is. It's not inner gender wrestling.
[00:04:25] Speaker B: Interspersed with some amazing matches. But then there's just horrib.
It's like you'll have like, Hayabusa versus Eddie Guerrero and then like a whipped cream match with Bubba Dudley or some.
[00:04:38] Speaker A: Why did you have to pick him?
[00:04:40] Speaker B: I don't know. That might not actually have happened.
[00:04:42] Speaker D: Pick a Dudley. There was like eight of them.
[00:04:44] Speaker C: I hope not.
[00:04:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:46] Speaker D: Anyways, more important, better, nicer things. Who's driving this week? I want to talk about Dynamite. I'm here. I'm in the studio.
[00:04:54] Speaker C: Well before Erica starts driving for the week.
[00:04:58] Speaker A: All right, I'll put it back in neutral.
[00:05:00] Speaker C: There's a pay per view that we. We should probably touch on quick. That happened.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:05:04] Speaker C: We were gonna do.
[00:05:05] Speaker D: We were gonna do a wrap up and we just didn't.
[00:05:08] Speaker B: No, it didn't happen. Life got in the way.
[00:05:10] Speaker C: That's life.
[00:05:11] Speaker A: It doesn't happen. Sorry, I have to work.
[00:05:14] Speaker D: My shit's on fire, guy.
[00:05:20] Speaker C: How's your week going?
[00:05:22] Speaker B: Bad.
[00:05:22] Speaker A: Cool. Mine too.
[00:05:25] Speaker B: It seems to be going around.
[00:05:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:05:27] Speaker B: Forbidden Door in London.
[00:05:28] Speaker C: That was a lot of that. Pay per view was. Was a ton of fun.
[00:05:31] Speaker A: It was fun. Yeah.
[00:05:32] Speaker C: It's the first, like, time I've gotten folks together to watch, like, wrestling in person. And it's not just with. I say this with all the love in my heart, you schmucks.
[00:05:42] Speaker A: What?
[00:05:43] Speaker B: Okay, okay. Yeah, I see how it is.
[00:05:47] Speaker C: Yeah. So, like, I had a friend over and roommate was. Was Here and my wife was here and my dad was here. So it was like all sorts of different levels of wrestling, like fandom and it was a good time. It was, I think a good show for that.
[00:06:02] Speaker B: Yeah, it wasn't anything like as amazing as all. It wasn't like the top tier AEW pay per view and actually I think it was probably one of the weaker ones of the year, but still was better than like most professional wrestling. And it's more. So, not that it wasn't bad, it's just everything else has been like 9 to 10 out of 10 and that was like an 8 to 8.5. It was great, but just.
[00:06:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I watched it over the course.
I finished it this morning. This is Thursday.
No, I finished it yesterday because I called out sick from work last night. But it's like, it was just, it was, it was very, it was, it was high energy. It was, it was fun.
But yeah, like from like an in ring standpoint, I would not put it on like the very higher level.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: And there was some like, kind of stuff. Like I thought the ending of Hangman and MJF was a little overbooked with Mark Briscoe and the foot on the road.
[00:07:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it was sweaty.
[00:07:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:07:02] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a little weird. It was, it was a really great match. I really liked it.
[00:07:07] Speaker B: Oh yeah, no, it's still very fun.
[00:07:09] Speaker A: It was probably my match of the night that in the women's.
Actually the two women's matches was really good.
[00:07:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I was all that and that's every match delivered. It's like. No, there was no real lows. It's just the highs weren't as high as like Hangman winning the belt.
[00:07:24] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, when you've like, you know, Peruvian Cowboy, if you know what I mean, it's. It's hard to bring, bring it back down to that Long island, you know.
[00:07:42] Speaker A: No offense, Max, considering where we are. It was, it was Philly Skunkweed.
Yeah. Yeah. It gets the job done, you know, you know, you know what you got.
[00:07:52] Speaker B: When you smell it, but it's not, it's nothing fancy.
[00:07:57] Speaker D: Ella Taylor. Yeah, Skunkweed on top of the 2300 Arena.
[00:08:04] Speaker C: Look, they're there for a month. We can make that happen.
[00:08:08] Speaker D: They keep trying to get me down, I just start screaming at my own ass.
[00:08:12] Speaker A: I promise you that they're all probably up there just smoking right now.
[00:08:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:08:20] Speaker A: Or no, they're probably taping Collision. I think they're, I think they're taped Collision tonight.
[00:08:24] Speaker C: But like, there's always somebody on Top. It's a rotating shift. There's always somebody on top of this.
[00:08:29] Speaker A: There's always somebody up top, like gyrating with a towel and smoking some weed.
[00:08:34] Speaker D: Often than not, it's Rob Van Dam. And no one can understand how or why. Like, you're not on contract.
We thought you were with the other guy.
[00:08:43] Speaker C: But it's. It's just this beautiful, shining beacon that, like, you always rely on. Like, you can set your watch to that and guess what time it is.
[00:08:51] Speaker A: It's 11 o'. Clock. That's what. That's. That's 2300 is 11 o'. Clock.
There you go. That's what time it is.
[00:08:58] Speaker B: Oh, it is, yeah. Military.
[00:09:01] Speaker A: Shall we begin, then?
[00:09:03] Speaker B: Let's do it.
[00:09:04] Speaker A: It is my honor to welcome you to the city of Philadelphia for the next three weeks. And we open up with Excalibur, Ian and Taz on comms, and we get a little video package showing the brutal murder of William Ospreay by the coward Jonathan Moxley.
I don't know why you would start your show out with this.
[00:09:33] Speaker B: It's all over the show. They talk about Osprey getting her, like, 10 times.
[00:09:37] Speaker A: We had such a fantastic night at Forbidden Door.
[00:09:41] Speaker B: Here's like, you're the worst crime ever.
[00:09:44] Speaker D: Passion of the Christ.
[00:09:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:09:46] Speaker A: Yeah.
I like the. I like the little bit where Moxley stomped on the chair on his neck, and then, like, kind of ground his heel. And it's like.
[00:09:53] Speaker B: Yes.
It was a big, like, plot moment, though. I mean, that's. It's, I think, gonna set up this whole transition into, like, the new Baby Faces coming up. So I get. You want to build on that.
[00:10:05] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:10:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. Cheerful way to start the show.
[00:10:07] Speaker A: And we had some audio issues. The MVP of.
[00:10:13] Speaker B: It's Not Wednesday without audio Issues.
[00:10:15] Speaker A: Excalibur talking was coming in over the loudspeakers at the venue.
He very obviously noticed it, but he's like, I can't stop my spiel.
I cannot stop.
All right. And we opened with a promo segment that brought out FTR and Big fucking stoke.
[00:10:38] Speaker C: Big booze, too, from the crowd.
[00:10:41] Speaker B: Oh, the dude in the FedEx outfit in the front row.
Was it in Cash's face?
[00:10:46] Speaker A: He's just like, that guy came the shift. Yeah, that guy came from the airport to get in Cash Wheeler's face. Yeah, he was on the show a lot, and he was having a blast like that.
[00:11:01] Speaker D: Wait, was that a plant or.
[00:11:04] Speaker B: No? I don't think so.
[00:11:05] Speaker C: I don't think so.
[00:11:06] Speaker D: That's wild.
[00:11:08] Speaker B: I think people were just Having fun with them because Garcia daps him up at one point, too, when he comes out later.
[00:11:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:15] Speaker D: Dude just is a worker.
[00:11:19] Speaker C: He's a postal worker is what he is. He came from work, and he said, I'm gonna yell at this.
[00:11:25] Speaker A: I've. I've known a lot of FedEx drivers in my time working down here. Yeah.
[00:11:32] Speaker B: Probably just got up at 12, was like, I'm going shout out to the.
[00:11:35] Speaker A: FedEx crew down here.
[00:11:36] Speaker B: I've been peeing in a bottle all day. I'm ready.
[00:11:39] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:11:39] Speaker D: I've had a long one, and I'm taking it out on ftr. Gun.
[00:11:43] Speaker B: Get that.
[00:11:45] Speaker A: Exactly. But. And, like, I think it was, like, you mentioned how loud the booing was, and it really was like a great. Like, they, like, immediately, everybody was like, we want to have fun at a wrestling.
[00:11:57] Speaker B: The whole show. Like, the crowd was so into it.
[00:12:00] Speaker A: They were nuclear for ftr. It was a.
[00:12:03] Speaker C: Just a really great showing of kind of what. Wrestling in Philly and wrestling in that building specifically kind of is like, I've been there for.
[00:12:13] Speaker B: Well, like, you two were. You two were saying in the chat, like, it didn't look amazing because it's just, like, smaller and the height. HD cameras. It looks a little funky.
[00:12:22] Speaker C: It's just a black box theater, really.
[00:12:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:12:25] Speaker D: Here's the thing. It looked perfect, is the problem. Because it looked like.
[00:12:29] Speaker C: It looked like they built it just like it. They framed shots just like it.
[00:12:35] Speaker B: Like, looking down on the. Yeah, they did. Yeah. The entrance way was a straight. Was a straight tribute to it. Yeah. The crowd just was cool.
[00:12:43] Speaker A: Yeah. All right. So crap. Philly is just, like, immediately on them. They're screaming bald at Dax and Stokely. They try and get in a spiel about how they have. There was a miscarriage of justice at Forbidden Door when we had more mic.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: Trouble in the ring, too.
[00:13:02] Speaker A: Or if that was Dax.
[00:13:03] Speaker B: Give me the. Just give me the mic into the live mic.
No, dude, it's working. They can hear you.
[00:13:10] Speaker C: Awesome.
[00:13:11] Speaker A: And the fact is, it didn't matter because the crowd just screamed shut the up.
[00:13:15] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:16] Speaker A: His entire thing. He demands that Paul Turner give an explanation because I didn't catch this, or I don't remember it because I watched the match, like, three days ago.
It's like, oh, he wasn't the legal man. Somebody wasn't legal when they were tagged in.
[00:13:31] Speaker B: It's a trio's tag mat by the, like, after the first five minutes. Nobody pays attention anymore unless it's a story thing.
[00:13:39] Speaker D: Like, Brian Danielson called it out during. During the match and forbidden Doris the legal. Yeah, yeah.
[00:13:48] Speaker A: Danielson would care about that.
[00:13:51] Speaker C: And you'll send an ftr. Nobody else.
[00:13:53] Speaker B: But yeah, it gives FTR a reason to be like, we want our match.
[00:13:58] Speaker D: Which is probably why they did it. But people are gonna be like, they don't pay attention to the rules. I'm like this.
[00:14:05] Speaker B: I'm not going through the match for the fine tooth comb, figuring out who tagged it, what point.
[00:14:09] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm sure In the last 48 hours, a certain. As Jeff alluded to earlier, whipped cream wrestling. Dudley probably had something to say about them messing that up, if you will.
[00:14:24] Speaker A: That seat was busted open already. We're in our, like, eighth episode. What?
[00:14:30] Speaker C: Apparently somebody in the crowd did, too. Who saw that sign?
[00:14:34] Speaker D: Wait, what was the sign? It was.
[00:14:36] Speaker C: I was like, bubba Ray loves when dynamite runs over or something like that.
[00:14:40] Speaker A: Oh, no, it said, Uncle Billy. Uncle Billy. Oh, yeah, Uncle Billy loves. Uncle Billy loves.
[00:14:47] Speaker C: Uncle Bully loves when Aw. Runs over.
[00:14:50] Speaker B: Amazing. Let's say I did have a good moment here, too, when the crowd was shouting, chant the orange. Yeah. Channing, shut the up. Taz just goes, welcome to Philly.
[00:14:59] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:15:02] Speaker A: All right. So. So they. They asked Paul. They tell Paul Turner that he must reverse his incorrect decision and his miscarriage of justice. And Paul Turner says, no. Stokely gets on the mic, and it actually gets worse for them. And now that the crowd is bellowing, no, hope.
[00:15:23] Speaker D: Philly is here.
[00:15:25] Speaker A: He managed to get he to get off a line about how Paul Turner is doing it because, like, he's trying to appease the online fans.
[00:15:34] Speaker B: Yeah, the Internet.
[00:15:35] Speaker A: And he says, hop off their dicks and reverse this decision.
And, like, there was, like, a couple people in the crowd who were like, oh.
[00:15:45] Speaker C: And then every Philly wrestling fan went.
[00:15:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:15:50] Speaker B: Paul Turner doesn't even look like he goes on the Internet. It looks like he looks like he mows a yard for fun.
[00:15:56] Speaker D: Great example, though. That's if he does kind of look like.
[00:15:59] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm sure he's a great guy.
[00:16:01] Speaker D: Like, it's a good mo.
Yeah. But no, the. This is another great example of this show was. Was written who love ecw.
They play. I. I was watching on Max and it got bleeped out, which means they knew it was going to happen. It was off the fly.
And they did. There's a couple times tonight where they bleeped out stuff where it was like, I can insinuate what he said and EC Dub. Ecw. Ecw.
[00:16:33] Speaker A: That's how.
[00:16:34] Speaker D: How I felt about that.
[00:16:36] Speaker A: So the. The refs so They're. They're going to now murder the referee, which queues up Adam Copeland's music. He comes out and they wonder, where's Christian? Well, Christian. Where's Christian Is doing a sneak attack and he does a kill switch on Stokely, who. Yeah, dies instantly because somebody said they should take him to the morgue.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Stokely Hathaway. I hope they take him to the morgue. I think that was Excalibur.
[00:17:16] Speaker A: Christian grabs a mic. He's in. He's like, dax, I heard you have a father in cash.
I heard you have a father, too. Cope stops him. He's like, no, we're not doing that. And the crowd booze him. So, okay.
[00:17:31] Speaker B: Yeah, that was excellent.
[00:17:33] Speaker A: And Christian says, I hear that is dead.
[00:17:37] Speaker B: It's a big pop too.
I saw somebody talking about this like they're doing it great. Where it's like when heels turn face. We don't want to see them start acting like whole new people. We want them right. Keep doing the dickish things they were doing, but to people we hate.
[00:17:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:17:51] Speaker B: And they're doing that great.
[00:17:53] Speaker D: Not to be the.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: The.
[00:17:54] Speaker D: The Monday night fake fights in the room, but hey, I was getting it real. Girl who's only seen boss baby vibes, you know, I was getting kind of the vibes of. Of Sting and. And he'll Luger when he came out and he was looking.
[00:18:14] Speaker B: When.
[00:18:14] Speaker D: Well, when he's looking behind him, like, where is he?
[00:18:16] Speaker B: Yeah, like, where is.
[00:18:17] Speaker D: Where the is he? And I'm doing heel is what I'm doing.
[00:18:24] Speaker B: I will say they're doing a good job kind of threading the needle with this, like, mixed heel baby face story with Copeland and Christian, which I was. I was a little unsure, but yeah, they're playing it well.
[00:18:37] Speaker A: And we have after the Dead. Dead. The match is official for allout Toronto.
All right. So that Christian and Copeland are now called cnc.
[00:18:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:18:51] Speaker A: CNC versus FTR is now official for Toronto.
[00:18:56] Speaker C: They just really like cutting aluminum and.
[00:18:59] Speaker B: Other metal like in music factories.
[00:19:02] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:19:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Interesting fact. I saw. This is going to be the first time that Christian and Copeland have tagged together on a pay per view in Canada ever.
[00:19:11] Speaker A: Really? Wow. Yeah, I didn't realize that.
[00:19:14] Speaker B: Yep. Even all through WWE and all that, like they never were on a tag team match together in a Canadian pay per view. They had singles matches or they were in like, they were in like a trios match together. But yeah, so this would be cool.
[00:19:27] Speaker A: I'm excited for this. I'm even more excited now.
[00:19:29] Speaker B: Yeah, that's after they did a great job at Forbidden Door. That match they had was fun as.
[00:19:34] Speaker C: Like, Taz did have a great line here where he said he's back with a rage and he's aligned with Cage.
I didn't even try to rhyme, and I did.
[00:19:48] Speaker B: She was so proud of him.
[00:19:49] Speaker A: I missed that.
[00:19:50] Speaker B: That was.
[00:19:50] Speaker A: That's awesome.
[00:19:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:53] Speaker A: That'S. That's kind of like some ECW branding right there, too.
[00:19:57] Speaker C: Yeah. Right?
[00:19:58] Speaker A: Yeah. We go next to a Darby Allen promo, where first he opens by apologizing for not dying on Everest.
[00:20:06] Speaker B: I. I also apologize for not dying on Everest. I never climbed it, but I'm sorry.
[00:20:11] Speaker A: I. I would like to also extend my apologies for not dying on Everest.
[00:20:16] Speaker D: All the people who wish I died on Everest. I was just, like.
[00:20:22] Speaker A: Talking about me, but he's. This was actually a pretty good promo, I thought.
[00:20:27] Speaker B: I actually like this video.
[00:20:31] Speaker A: Ruled.
[00:20:31] Speaker C: And I hate that it was a Darby Allen promo.
[00:20:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:20:36] Speaker C: Because I love everything.
[00:20:38] Speaker B: Like, the piano music they had going in the background was really, like, cool. Like, I love that he's painting with his ear blood.
[00:20:45] Speaker D: Like, oh, that was wicked.
[00:20:48] Speaker A: That's gross.
[00:20:52] Speaker C: Awesome. And it's for Darby Allen.
[00:20:55] Speaker A: Oh, man.
[00:20:58] Speaker D: Dub ecw. Ec.
[00:21:01] Speaker A: I don't think they ever did that in ecw, but, like. Or they would. They wouldn't have had, like, the piano music with it. It would have just been like somebod screaming in a dark alleyway.
[00:21:10] Speaker B: That was almost more like. That was more like kind of mankind from wwf. Yeah. Yeah. He had the pretty piano music.
[00:21:16] Speaker C: Yeah. This would have been somebody doing Dutch angle. The Dutch angle.
[00:21:19] Speaker A: Yes.
So. So he says that he's coming to take everything from John Moxley. He saw the bodies on the summit of the mountain and cried.
And he said, life is like, yeah, probably not.
But then a lot of those guys are rich.
[00:21:38] Speaker B: It just was a weird thing to slip, too. I was like, the promo, the Everest. You could have just stopped at the. I'm sorry I die. You didn't have to be like, yeah. I also saw some bodies like Jake or Logan Paul.
[00:21:49] Speaker A: But he was. Well, he was. He was making a point about how. Because. Well, like, the. The. The. The body of the promo was that life is short.
And Jon Moxley in AEW with the Death Riders have taken time away from people's lives.
[00:22:06] Speaker C: So would you say that their time is up and Darby's time is now?
[00:22:15] Speaker A: That's right. We're gonna get rapper Darby.
[00:22:17] Speaker C: John Moxley sucks.
[00:22:20] Speaker B: ECW star John Cena.
[00:22:26] Speaker C: Darby wins.
[00:22:27] Speaker A: We riot.
[00:22:28] Speaker B: He did Main event one night Stand with that, wasn't it? That was an ECW like moment.
[00:22:34] Speaker D: Sure was. He put RVD over. You damn right.
Ye. That was a good time.
[00:22:39] Speaker B: Cope was there too.
[00:22:41] Speaker A: The ultimate point of this promo with the blood and the piano music and the murder is that he's challenging once again John Moxley to a singles match at all out. And he lights the canvas on fire.
[00:22:54] Speaker B: Yeah. Which looked cool. That was. It looked awesome.
[00:22:57] Speaker A: It was a very good, well delivered promo. It's not the kind of thing that he's known for.
[00:23:04] Speaker B: Well, I mean he went remember when AW first started? And he did. He didn't do like promos, he did like silent movies and like weird little like films. Like it kind of felt like a.
[00:23:14] Speaker C: Return to that that he would do with Sting where like he would like Sting's driving a like death proof car with Darby Allen and a body bag drug behind him.
[00:23:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Like his first videos were like he would have a body bag with like a fake mask of whoever his opponent was and he was like skateboard into them or some.
[00:23:34] Speaker A: Well, like the thing that I remember from those early promos is he filmed them himself.
[00:23:39] Speaker B: Yeah, it was like his little. Yeah. Project.
[00:23:42] Speaker A: This looked like production got together and said we're doing a thing.
[00:23:45] Speaker B: Yeah. It was like AEW doing a Darby Allen video.
[00:23:49] Speaker A: And like I'm sure he had a lot of input in it, but it.
[00:23:53] Speaker B: Was, it was probably that lady who does the badass Julia Hart videos. She posts on Blue sky and stuff. Yeah, I don't. Sartorial style or something. I don't know her. I feel bad because she's amazing.
[00:24:07] Speaker A: Editorial style I believe.
[00:24:08] Speaker B: Editorial. Yeah, I think that's it. Yeah. Yeah, she always posts really cool stuff. Working on aew like videos and production stuff.
[00:24:16] Speaker C: I don't know how I feel about the first show immediately after a pay per view setting. Two matches for the upcoming pay per view in the first 20 minutes of the show.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: Well, it's kind of weird because Forbidden Door, everything was made like 10 minutes before the show started and now they're like already getting things. No. And yeah, I think there's only the two estate pushed at this point I.
[00:24:40] Speaker C: Guess one and a half because this one technically isn't on yet as we know.
[00:24:44] Speaker B: But we. It's happening. I mean.
[00:24:46] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:24:46] Speaker A: Yes, we will get to that.
So next we actually get a match and speaking of the devil, it's Jon Moxley and he's battling Daniel Garcia and Max.
[00:24:59] Speaker B: We got the Rickabone zone.
[00:25:00] Speaker A: What? He declares what Moxley did to Darby that forbidden Door was a terrorism, I guess. Sure. Daddy's fired up.
[00:25:10] Speaker B: Ian can get away with it.
[00:25:11] Speaker A: Yeah, it's fine. It's fine. Terrorism, I guess. I don't. I wasn't very terrorized. I was.
It was kind of cool.
Big him up, Danny. Him up. Chant from Philly for Danny. This kind of.
[00:25:29] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought it was a very good match.
[00:25:31] Speaker A: I really enjoyed it. They told a very good in ring story of Danny kind of meeting the moment, a lot of it.
[00:25:40] Speaker B: And because he's been kind of floundering for a while and I mean like I love Daniel Garcia, but things have not clicked the way they need to to have him like really elevated. And I feel like this was a good move in that direction.
[00:25:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:52] Speaker C: Put him over big Danny Garcia feels like. Like he feels like he has done everything in AEW and that's not a compliment.
Like he's just been in faction after faction after faction after tag team.
[00:26:04] Speaker B: He's been a shooter guy. He's been a comedy dancer. He's been with this.
[00:26:08] Speaker C: Not that any of it was bad, but it's just like left him aimless.
[00:26:12] Speaker B: He just can't seem. He can't seem to settle into like the role. He like you just become this heel ass dude.
[00:26:18] Speaker A: I just.
[00:26:19] Speaker B: Yeah. And I love Garcia. I've been watching him since the indies. I want him to succeed. He.
[00:26:23] Speaker D: He tried to do. He tried to Yuta himself.
That sounds weird.
[00:26:32] Speaker B: Go you to yourself, brother.
[00:26:35] Speaker D: Turn yourself into a piece of.
[00:26:42] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:26:45] Speaker D: But right now he slops them up anyways.
[00:26:48] Speaker B: And like this match though, he really was getting over like as a face. Like the crowd was super behind him. He was work because he kind of had that almost weird heelish turn with Nigel at Forbidden Door. Like the fake, the awkward hug and like the vibes almost seemed like he was going for a heel turn. But this. Yeah, he. They love them.
[00:27:06] Speaker D: Well, I think of when he did the reverse of Sports Entertainer bit with Brian Danielson.
That and then he. Everyone thought he was gonna turn good and he didn't. He went heel. That's when it was like he had little energy for. We had a little bit there and I feel like that was like the best heat he ever got. So they just kept trying to ride that. But I think he's a baby face. But not. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know.
[00:27:37] Speaker A: Kind of like in an in between thing. And this felt like like straight red death. Daniel Garcia tonight because he, he really was like working the. The shooter angle of it. He was attacking Mox's leg and, like, it was all built. It all built up in the end to, you know.
[00:27:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:27:57] Speaker A: He almost got him with the dragon tamer.
[00:27:59] Speaker B: Yeah. I love when he had mox on the top and he just starts biting his leg and like, punching at it. He got. He showed like, just so much fire in this. And it really kind of.
It seems like a step in the right direction because it reminded me back when Garcia was first really getting over, like, this is what the correct people liked and this is what they wanted from him.
[00:28:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:17] Speaker C: And I hope they kind of, like, see that and recognize that and use that to kind of move in that direction for him because, like, he is somebody who, like, deserves everything.
[00:28:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:28] Speaker B: He's working.
[00:28:28] Speaker A: He's that good. Like, I. Yeah, yeah. Like, people see it in him that he's got the ability to get to the Danielson level.
[00:28:36] Speaker B: Yeah. And all the tools are there. I think they just need to be put together in the right way.
[00:28:40] Speaker A: Yep. But, like, yeah, this did this. This was great for him. He held his own against Moxley. Daddy Magic. Matt Menard came out to even up the odds when looking amazing.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: By the way, one of my. One of my tazzles of the week was better be careful. Daddy Magic is from. From Montreal. But that's a big threat.
[00:28:59] Speaker A: This is. This was not the only Quebec slander we got on the show.
[00:29:02] Speaker B: Show. No. Very anti Canadian show.
[00:29:06] Speaker C: Specifically.
[00:29:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:29:08] Speaker D: Don Callis was trying to start some.
[00:29:11] Speaker A: There was. There was like, a few interesting bits. Like Garcia got the. The Les Kellet lariat. The slingshot.
[00:29:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:29:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:29:21] Speaker C: I thought he pulled a Dean Ambrose.
[00:29:23] Speaker A: No, he didn't.
[00:29:25] Speaker B: The wacky line.
[00:29:26] Speaker A: Yes, that.
[00:29:28] Speaker B: Worst name for a move ever.
[00:29:30] Speaker A: He's got that unique offense.
[00:29:34] Speaker B: Unorthodox. Michael.
[00:29:39] Speaker A: My favorite probably moment of the match was Moxley. DDT's Garcia on the steps and, like, he's trying to beat the 10 count back in the ring. And, like, there's fans on the outside, like, reaching over, pulling him up and he's like, yeah, man.
[00:29:57] Speaker B: And then Daddy Magic, like, gives him a little final push, like, back into the right. I thought that was a great moment.
[00:30:02] Speaker C: I think my favorite imagery from this was there's a point where Garcia has. He's got like, some kind of, like, hold on, like, Mox, like, in the ropes, and he's just like, reaching out and flipping off Yuta, like, right in his face.
[00:30:19] Speaker B: Yeah, that was great.
[00:30:20] Speaker C: Who also, despite being a hometown hero, still got shit on.
[00:30:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:30:26] Speaker B: Okay. The first chance of the match were you Yuta, before, like, they before the bell rang and the crowd was just like you, Yuda.
[00:30:33] Speaker A: I forget which aunt he was, but the ant was over Wheeler. Yuta was not holy.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: Was he one of the ants?
[00:30:42] Speaker A: Yeah, he was like a later one. Somebody can look that up because I.
[00:30:46] Speaker B: Know it was Drew Gulag. It was Orange Cassidy. Yeah. And Hot Sauce Tracy Williams were the original three.
Yeah, he's probably one of the later ones.
[00:30:54] Speaker A: He was. He. He wasn't in at one point.
[00:30:57] Speaker B: Carpenter Ann or something.
[00:30:59] Speaker A: I'll look.
I'm checking. That was Pinky Sanchez.
[00:31:03] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that was Pinky.
[00:31:04] Speaker A: That was. Don't get me started on that.
[00:31:07] Speaker B: Yeah, no, we can do a whole Chicago show.
[00:31:08] Speaker A: I can do a whole. Just on the colony itself.
[00:31:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:31:12] Speaker A: All right, so final stretch of the match, Garcia gets back in the ring after the 10k. He gets the dragon tamer. He's like cranking on that.
[00:31:19] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:31:20] Speaker A: Beating that meat.
Mox counters it into a bulldog choke, but that gets countered back into a power driver too. He goes back for another dragon tamer, but Mox, like, just catches him in a roll up and. Yeah, that's the win.
[00:31:33] Speaker C: This just in. I don't think he was an ant. According to Wikipedia.
[00:31:37] Speaker B: I didn't think so. I knew he's a wrestle factory guy. Like, he did come up in Chikara, but like, I think he. It was after Orange Cassidy started being Orange Cassidy and Shikara that he kind of like, like was doing stuff there. I. Yeah, I didn't think he was pretty sure.
[00:31:51] Speaker A: He's an ant or. He started as an ant.
Oh, he was Silver Hawk. He was one of the Cyber Hawks.
[00:31:58] Speaker B: Oh, he was Silverhawk. Okay, Gotcha.
[00:31:59] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:32:00] Speaker B: It's so hard. Chakara. Who know. I mean, that's. Everybody has been in that promotion in a weird masked gimmick.
[00:32:06] Speaker A: Who the knows?
[00:32:08] Speaker C: Do you guys know?
[00:32:09] Speaker A: I work Chikara.
[00:32:11] Speaker B: But this was a tremendous match. This was great.
[00:32:14] Speaker A: This was awesome.
[00:32:15] Speaker B: Yes. Pulled it together, bro.
[00:32:17] Speaker A: Post match, Mox is kind of giving Yuta like a little. Hey, hey, you almost got me. And he whispers something into his ear.
[00:32:24] Speaker B: After he kind of like licked his face too.
[00:32:26] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:32:27] Speaker C: He was like giving him a little smooch.
[00:32:29] Speaker B: Yeah, he got real a little in there.
[00:32:31] Speaker D: He snipped him a little and then.
[00:32:33] Speaker A: He said, get in my belly afterwards.
It was kind of out of character, but okay.
[00:32:40] Speaker B: Timeless John Locks.
[00:32:41] Speaker A: He does not have time to talk to the Philadelphia fans, so he hands the mic to Wheeler Yuta, who just says Darby Allen. No. Just rejects the challenge for all out.
[00:32:54] Speaker B: I guess it's not happening.
[00:32:56] Speaker A: Oh, well, we'll never see it happen.
Oh, shucks. Daniel Garcia is a bit of a grumpy Gus and a sad puppy as he goes to the back and he. There was a promo that was on social media somewhere where he just kind of like was frustrated and he doesn't know what he has to do.
[00:33:15] Speaker B: Yeah, they did like a behind the scenes.
[00:33:16] Speaker C: Oh, poor guy.
[00:33:17] Speaker A: Poor guy. I hope he's okay.
[00:33:19] Speaker B: It's his arc.
[00:33:20] Speaker A: It's his arc.
I think he's gonna join the Death Riders and that's gonna be cool. There's apparently a commercial.
[00:33:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:33:28] Speaker A: And then we come back from that commercial. Wheeler Yuta is still in the ring. He's got the mic again.
[00:33:34] Speaker B: This is good.
[00:33:35] Speaker A: And he's getting on so hard.
[00:33:38] Speaker B: You must have been just saying out there getting booed for like two minutes straight.
[00:33:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. He's loving the hell out of it. So he talks about how he lives and he is a Philadelphia native. He started wrestling in that building.
[00:33:51] Speaker B: I think he was a member of the ring crew when he was a teenager, like putting together.
[00:33:54] Speaker A: I think he was. He started with. Yeah, CZW and Shikara. Yeah, that's how he was trained.
[00:34:00] Speaker B: Wrestle Factory stuff, I think.
[00:34:02] Speaker A: And he used to want the fans respect, but now he's a death Rider, so who cares?
Will Ospreay Chuck Taylor one of the fans approval and both their necks are destroyed. Mr. Chuck E. And they didn't help Bryan Danielson. He put out Bryan Danielson and then lights go out. Who is it?
Well, tell the girls he's back in town.
[00:34:23] Speaker B: H for Henry.
[00:34:24] Speaker A: It's the Hook signal.
Portrait of a serial killer.
[00:34:32] Speaker D: Book portrait. A serial killer.
[00:34:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
He's back and he. And that's pretty much what happens. He. He slaps on.
[00:34:40] Speaker B: That song is sick too, though.
It's like a trip hop.
[00:34:43] Speaker A: Like they gotta turn it up. I could not really hear it too well.
[00:34:47] Speaker B: Yeah. Somebody posted on Blue Sky I listened to. I was like, oh, this is actually really, really good. It's like Sinatra trip hop kind of stuff.
[00:34:54] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess.
[00:34:55] Speaker B: Apparently there was some like thing with Action Bronson where he didn't want to give them the rights back to the song. So that's why.
Well, that's for a long time. If you watch. Hook never had entrances. He either came out like and attacked people without music or he came out as part of like the ops or on teams where they'd have Samoa Joe's music. Yeah, there was apparently a big gap where they just didn't have music for him. And they didn't know what to do. And this is where they landed. And I love it. I like it with the H symbol and the.
[00:35:20] Speaker C: Yeah, it works really well.
[00:35:22] Speaker B: Very, very good presentation.
[00:35:24] Speaker A: He is fairly. He is basically there to just beat the out of you to. Yeah.
[00:35:28] Speaker B: How do you get over on a return? You beat up Wheeler, you Red Rum.
[00:35:32] Speaker A: Big forearm and Yuta hits the bricks. There's a little bit of it. It felt like it was kind of a muted reaction from the crowd.
[00:35:41] Speaker C: I thought so was well.
[00:35:42] Speaker B: But like Cook's still one of those guys too where he kind of need. They need to put stuff together. Like. Yeah, it was fun when he was like a meme guy with the chips for a while and that got over and people still. Still. I feel like he still has cred. Like people still like him, but everyone's waiting for him to kind of go up to that next level and really be like.
[00:36:01] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:36:02] Speaker B: Single star.
[00:36:03] Speaker A: He needs to show that he's actually improved in the ring because they. They introduced him and they really protected him.
[00:36:10] Speaker B: Yeah. Suplexes of jokes and killed it.
[00:36:13] Speaker A: Yeah. And he. He was great at that. But like, he's gotta like show, like you said, that he's improved that he stuck to the. That he's ready to go on.
[00:36:22] Speaker B: Yeah. This whole. This whole episode really like, feels like new beginning stuff. Like, it feels like a lot of groundwork for people going forward, which with Osprey out with Swerve out, I think that's the move they need to be doing. They gotta really, like get these. Focus on these young, healthy guys.
[00:36:38] Speaker A: All right, we come next to an MJF video promo. He. He says that the fans proved his point. He was bleeding buckets. And the crowd chanted, you deserve it.
And when Cowboy was bleeding buckets, he was. They were chanting Cowboy to him. He won the belt even though he, you know.
[00:36:56] Speaker B: Yeah. The stuff we were saying earlier with.
[00:36:57] Speaker A: The foot on the rope.
[00:36:59] Speaker B: Briscoe coming out.
[00:37:01] Speaker A: Briscoe got in his way and he says he should have burned Mark to death last week. Which kind of extreme.
[00:37:08] Speaker B: You probably be in prison. Like, I mean you right now, you're a professional wrestler and not under, you know, charge for second degree murder at.
[00:37:14] Speaker A: But insult to injury. Tony Khan has ruled that he can no longer use his contract whenever he chooses. He has to.
[00:37:21] Speaker B: Yes. Or any.
[00:37:22] Speaker A: Anybody.
[00:37:23] Speaker C: Any contract.
[00:37:24] Speaker B: Which is a move I like. I. I think it's much better than the cash in money in the bank type thing.
[00:37:30] Speaker C: It helps set it apart from that.
[00:37:32] Speaker A: Yes. I like it in the sense that they acknowledged. Both outside of Kayfabe, people don't like this, but then inside of Kayfabe is like, people are taking advantage of this and really.
[00:37:42] Speaker B: Yeah. And also we need to be able to promote championship matches. Like, that's how we mean.
[00:37:47] Speaker A: It's.
[00:37:47] Speaker B: They. It's a logistical reason that makes sense. Like. And. Yeah, it's. I think it's much better.
[00:37:53] Speaker A: So he promises that when he does use that contract, when he signs on the dotted line, he's not just taking the title, he's taking Hangman's soul.
[00:38:05] Speaker B: Just like Mr. Grim.
[00:38:06] Speaker A: Yeah, that's how that works.
[00:38:10] Speaker B: I thought this was a cool promo. I thought this was this, like, the Darby one. I was very pleasantly surprised. I was like, that was well executed, Eric.
[00:38:19] Speaker C: I don't know if you had mentioned it, but this is. The promo was shot, like, immediately following his loss.
[00:38:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:38:25] Speaker C: Backstage.
[00:38:25] Speaker B: Yeah, it was a. Backstage at the end because you can hear the crowd going.
[00:38:29] Speaker C: Yeah, he's sitting, like, on a pallet with a bunch of boxes around him just like, going off about Hangman.
[00:38:33] Speaker A: He was. He was caked in blood. Yeah. Still. Yeah.
[00:38:36] Speaker B: The end of it where he's like, screaming into the game. I was like, that was genuinely very intense. I was like, okay, that's some.
[00:38:43] Speaker C: Like, those two aren't done. They're just done for now.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:38:49] Speaker A: Take a little break. You know, sometimes you just got to take a break from your partner.
[00:38:54] Speaker B: Yeah. Because. Did he say he's going after Briscoe before he. He's like, I'm gonna get first and then I'm going to get Hangman. So. Yeah, it's good. It moves them both on. Yeah.
Which we all, I think, kind of knew where this was.
[00:39:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:39:07] Speaker C: Yeah, it's.
[00:39:08] Speaker A: It's not a bad idea, I think.
[00:39:10] Speaker B: No, no. For sure.
[00:39:11] Speaker A: That feud wasn't necessarily starting. Setting the world on fire.
[00:39:14] Speaker B: Yeah. And Max versus Mark will be fun.
[00:39:20] Speaker A: The next match, Megan Bane and Penelope Ford versus Chris Statlander and Harley Cameron.
[00:39:28] Speaker B: Let's ho this rule.
[00:39:31] Speaker A: The. The queen Nyla Rose suggested that the stat Harley tag team should be called Wrath Daddy. And I like that. I. I think that's. That's official.
[00:39:42] Speaker B: Their entrance now is so good, with Harley, like, being held up by a stat and then she does that, like, leave. Yeah. They are fun little pair. Harley works good with everybody, though. I've been going charismatic. Right.
[00:39:56] Speaker D: I. I want to go with Feel the Statlander myself.
[00:40:01] Speaker B: But Saturday night. Saturday night Wrath.
Saturday night Wrath. Yeah.
[00:40:11] Speaker A: They were kind of brainstorming some tag team names on commentary but yeah, I, I'm. I'm a big fan of wrath, daddy.
Really good.
Yeah, there's. There's just big sapphic energy off of this entire match. You.
I'm very here for it.
[00:40:30] Speaker B: That's kind of the entire women's division right now.
Except for Tony and Alex. They're completely platonic.
[00:40:37] Speaker A: Platonic.
[00:40:38] Speaker D: Yes, yes.
[00:40:39] Speaker B: Very important.
[00:40:41] Speaker A: I. I was not watching live last night, but it was very funny watching my blue sky feed blow up with like, oh my God. It's the toxic Yuri power hour.
What is happening?
[00:40:57] Speaker B: That's fantastic.
I thought this was fun though. This was cool.
[00:41:01] Speaker A: Yeah, this was a very nice match.
Not really a whole lot of like big cool spots, but like there's lots of fun.
[00:41:11] Speaker C: It's a lot of good, like tag team spots. Like quite literally one partner using the other.
[00:41:19] Speaker B: Yeah, I got one where I think it was like. What was it? Penelope4 got tossed into Chris Statlander and Chris tossed. Or Megan like tossed her into the cutter.
[00:41:27] Speaker C: Yeah, that was cool.
[00:41:29] Speaker A: Yes, that was nice. And then the complimentary to that was the faces. Basically Statlander did like pick up slam.
[00:41:38] Speaker B: Yeah, it was kind of a tilt a world like drop onto it or something like that. Harley's moving. I mean, Harley's a really good rest. Like I think it almost gets overshadowed with how like funny and charismatic she is that She's a very good in ring worker too.
[00:41:52] Speaker A: Yeah, she's really. They. I. I've been saying she's the rookie of the year since like January, so.
[00:42:00] Speaker B: One of the best like pure entertainers.
[00:42:02] Speaker A: And she's gotten, she's gotten very good at it all.
[00:42:06] Speaker D: And then on top of that, she gets her nose broken and.
[00:42:10] Speaker B: And yeah.
[00:42:11] Speaker D: Finishes the goddamn match like a goddamn champ.
[00:42:15] Speaker C: Turns it to part of the gimmick.
[00:42:16] Speaker D: And pivots it into the gimmick. And it's just like, this is.
You should be paying this woman for ever. Like she's. She's so goddamn good at this. Everything about wrestling. She's like a natural.
[00:42:29] Speaker B: Dustin.
I had a good Taz where he called Ian or Taz called Ian a fancy Dan because he said the word braggadocious.
We did get some baseball at nyu.
[00:42:42] Speaker A: Yeah, he was a baseball.
[00:42:45] Speaker B: I knew he's a baseball guy. I was gonna say I didn't know he played, but I knew he was a big baseball dude.
[00:42:49] Speaker C: Vision three Jones.
[00:42:51] Speaker A: Division three Jones. And he broke his nose while playing catcher.
[00:42:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Had to move to first base apparently. I've read something where people backstage aw are like, you know, it's all backstage Internet stuff. But, like, everyone's very happy with Ian Ricabani. They want to feature him more. I'm like, hell, yeah. I absolutely love him on commentary.
[00:43:09] Speaker C: Yeah. Like, swap him in when Tony Shivani needs a break because he's.
[00:43:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:13] Speaker C: An elderly man. And like.
[00:43:15] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:43:15] Speaker B: Or when Tyler Taz is getting put back together after.
[00:43:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:43:19] Speaker B: All of his joints replaced. Or if Excalibur ever takes a day.
[00:43:23] Speaker A: Off, they're right in his backyard right now.
[00:43:26] Speaker B: So, yeah, he's a Pennsylvania guy.
[00:43:29] Speaker A: Basically, the. The faces sort of run wild for a little bit until Penelope Ford fakes an injury and Bane levels Harley with a boot. And they go to the commercials and there's like, some really cool visuals of, like, Harley's nose kind of bleeding.
Yeah.
[00:43:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Out through the mask she's wearing.
Yeah, that looks sick.
[00:43:50] Speaker A: There was a. Penelope had a sweet moonsault off of Megan Bain's back.
Yeah.
[00:43:55] Speaker C: Like, that was another one like that. Just like, quite literally using your partner.
[00:44:00] Speaker B: Penelope Ford's another one where I don't think she gets, like, the credit she deserves. She is very, very good. And it's been for a long time.
[00:44:07] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:44:07] Speaker B: Like, I don't think she needs to be one champion or anything, but she's a workhorse. She. He's really. And delivers every time.
[00:44:14] Speaker A: Agreed.
They get some. Get along. Get the heat segment on Harley Cameron. But then hot tag and Stat runs wild.
We talked about the cutter and the assistant stuff. And then Stat and Harley get this, like, Taz called it a pendulum gimmick.
[00:44:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Crazy ass pendulum gimmick.
[00:44:36] Speaker A: Yeah. So, like. So stat held was held up Penelope on her shoulder for in, like, a backdrop position. And Harley came running by, grabbed her foot, and, like, it basically flipped her over into a face.
It looked sick.
[00:44:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. That was a fun little combo move.
[00:44:54] Speaker A: Stat actually wins a big strike exchange with Megan Bane. But Ford sneaks, does like a hidden tag and then she gets all. Oh, Harley. Then DDT's Bane on the floor. And then Stat does, like, this face plant from an electric tear position on Penelope Ford sword.
[00:45:12] Speaker B: Yeah. Cool face buster. Like, I thought that looks like.
[00:45:15] Speaker A: Like that could have been the finish, but no, then she got her in this weird body. Scissors, Armbar submission and tax.
[00:45:22] Speaker B: Yeah, she's been using this submission, like, the last couple times, and it looks pretty cool. It almost. It feels. It's a little long to set up, in my opinion.
[00:45:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:45:30] Speaker B: But it's. When it's in, it looks devastating.
[00:45:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
What a maneuver.
It's a very unique offense, obviously, and that. Right. So Megan Bain being the dash of the heel attacks post match. But it seems like Stat kind of has things well in hand. But Willow appears anyway. And I don't.
[00:45:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:45:51] Speaker A: I don't know if it was supposed to go down like that or if like, Willow. Mr. Q. But it seemed kind of weird.
[00:45:58] Speaker B: I don't know. They're all. It also seemed like it could just be part of their weird, awkward story. They're having.
[00:46:05] Speaker C: Will, they won't. They kind of a deal that has been going on for. For weeks now of, like, years, kind of. Yeah, that too.
[00:46:14] Speaker B: I love those two, but we've been doing this dance for a while.
[00:46:17] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
[00:46:18] Speaker D: I'm mostly just happy whenever I have a Willow on.
[00:46:21] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:46:23] Speaker D: So, like, I'm easy.
[00:46:25] Speaker B: I'm glad they're featured in the story, but I just kind of want to. Just to be a face and be with Will. Like, I. This whole kind of back and forth thing. I. It. It feels awkward oriented.
[00:46:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:46:36] Speaker B: I do like Harley playing the peacemaker between us.
[00:46:38] Speaker A: Harley. Harley does not understand what's going on. We're just being like, I love you guys.
[00:46:43] Speaker B: Yeah. I love everybody.
We're all friends.
[00:46:46] Speaker A: Holly Cameron. All right, next we have. It wasn't. It wasn't that funny.
[00:46:54] Speaker C: I liked it.
[00:46:55] Speaker B: It was pretty.
[00:46:55] Speaker D: Yeah, it was pretty good. No, it pleased me.
Well, I got a bunch of lists while I got a bunch of listeners here. Should I work at Dunkin Donuts? I don't know. Well, let me know, folks.
[00:47:11] Speaker B: Get back to me.
[00:47:12] Speaker C: Do you hate yourself in your life?
[00:47:14] Speaker D: Yeah, but I could do the Boston Bob accent the whole time. Lodge regular. Lodge regular. You know.
[00:47:20] Speaker C: Okay. I will. We'll do in Kevin Sullivan all day. Like, pop you enough to make working the drive through livable.
[00:47:28] Speaker D: He used it. Used to work with a racist super Mario Brothers accent at a pizza place.
[00:47:35] Speaker C: Well, hey, so cowgirls make do.
[00:47:39] Speaker D: Cowgirls make two. I'm g. I'm a run on Duncan. All right, let's go.
Anyways, I guess that's my bit this week. I'm doing job. Job applications during the show. That's my bit. You're looking for a fun kayfabe bit? We gotta pay for the studio. It's my apartment anyways.
[00:48:05] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no. We're blurring the line.
[00:48:08] Speaker D: We're blurring the line.
[00:48:11] Speaker A: We're shooting it. But is it a work or is it a shoot?
[00:48:13] Speaker B: She's trying to shoot herself into a work. She's literally applying for work.
[00:48:17] Speaker A: I believe that. Yeah.
[00:48:18] Speaker D: No, no, the. Let me tell you The. The legend of the rent is way hardcore. All right.
It's hardcore. It's hardcore. It's hardcore.
Anyways.
[00:48:34] Speaker A: Wrestling, wrestling.
[00:48:36] Speaker D: Scribble, scribble, scribble. Apply, apply.
[00:48:39] Speaker A: There's actually no wrestling in the next segment because Mercedes Monet.
[00:48:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I was gonna say, we come back to the one segment with no.
[00:48:45] Speaker A: Wrestling gets to have another celebration. She does these after, like, every pay per viewer, she twins, which I think.
[00:48:52] Speaker B: Every other time she's on Dynamite.
[00:48:54] Speaker A: Kind of awesome because every time she's.
[00:48:58] Speaker C: On tv, she has a brand new belt that she has.
[00:49:00] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:49:00] Speaker B: It's always a constant celebration.
[00:49:02] Speaker A: They have a table with Renee in the ring. It's got all nine belts that she has laid out except I think the tbs, which she is still wearing.
[00:49:10] Speaker B: Yeah, there's eight on the table and she's wearing the tbs. It looked cool. I love the smorgasbord of belts.
[00:49:15] Speaker A: Mercedes looked great tonight.
[00:49:17] Speaker B: Yeah, she did.
[00:49:18] Speaker A: Yeah. Good job. Job. And I was very much struck at, like, how every time she's on TV in aew, she looked like a goddamn star.
[00:49:27] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:49:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:49:28] Speaker B: Her whole presentation has come together so well.
[00:49:31] Speaker A: Everybody was like, this woman is gonna be big.
[00:49:33] Speaker B: And the way she carries herself, like, I mean, she's put. Because there was kind of that, like, iffy, like a little back and forth when she first started. It kind of took a bit for the gimmick to fall in line. But once it did, like, she's done fantastic with it.
[00:49:46] Speaker A: I mean, I mean, I think even going back to her WWE years, like, they never positioned her the way they positioned some of the other horsewomen.
[00:49:54] Speaker B: No. Yeah. I mean, that's why she left. She knew she had more to offer and she was right.
[00:49:59] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:50:00] Speaker C: Look at. Look at her now.
[00:50:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:50:03] Speaker A: So she had a great weekend in the uk. She added another belt to her collection. She won a Trios match and she retained her TBS title at Forbidden Door.
She's going to smash Ultimo Dragons.
[00:50:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Taking shots at Ultimo. I mean, he wasn't doing nothing. Yeah.
[00:50:19] Speaker A: And we know. We know he's going to be in the.
[00:50:22] Speaker D: I'm going to be seeing him. Yeah.
[00:50:25] Speaker C: Does Ultimo Dragon have a title that she can go and win off of him to break his red by his record?
[00:50:33] Speaker B: I don't think he does right now. No. Yeah.
[00:50:36] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:50:37] Speaker C: Can we fix that and book that? Because I want to see it real bad.
[00:50:41] Speaker B: Probably Dragon Gate. They switch titles like a sneeze. So who knows? He could be Trios champion next week.
[00:50:46] Speaker C: Like, Ellie, you have to report back, let us know if he wins the strap.
[00:50:50] Speaker D: I'll let y' all know what y' all know. Dragon report.
[00:50:54] Speaker A: She. No, she should. She should win the J Cup. Wait, did he. He probably lost the J.
[00:50:59] Speaker B: Well, they should do. Ultimo challenges Mercedes, and if he wins, he gets all these women's belts.
[00:51:03] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:51:04] Speaker B: He goes. Then he gets one more and does it again. Okay.
Ultimore Dragon, TBS champion.
[00:51:11] Speaker D: He just spends the next year he just spends the next year just beating up women.
[00:51:16] Speaker A: Like, yeah, yeah. Then he just runs the damn Andy Kaufman giving.
[00:51:26] Speaker D: That's exactly what I was thinking. I was like, that's.
[00:51:28] Speaker B: Oh, my.
[00:51:29] Speaker C: Oh, my God. It books itself.
[00:51:31] Speaker A: It books itself. That's a dragon turns into a.
[00:51:34] Speaker C: He does this for a year.
He does this for a year. He takes the mask off. It's Andy Kaufman. He never died.
[00:51:41] Speaker D: Holy.
Let's go.
[00:51:43] Speaker A: You know what?
[00:51:44] Speaker C: That's long term booking, pal.
[00:51:46] Speaker A: Yeah. She just basically puts every woman with a title in the world on notice. She's coming for you. And she doesn't care about Alex Windsor. She's going to Lady Cuck. Osprey.
[00:51:58] Speaker B: I like that. Renee's brought up saying, like, oh, Alex made you tap. And Mercedes, like, I wasn't legal and I was killing a bug. The ring, I didn't c out there was a bug. I was smashing.
[00:52:08] Speaker A: I love when heels have dumb excuses.
[00:52:11] Speaker B: Yeah, that was great. She just like, yeah.
Like, all right, why not?
[00:52:15] Speaker A: So it was a short segment.
[00:52:17] Speaker B: I expected somebody to come out as like, a challenger or like somebody to jumper or come out as a promo.
[00:52:22] Speaker C: It was just, I think, come out Dragon Suplexer and I think.
[00:52:29] Speaker A: Ddt. Yes. I think that they're gonna do one on one. Alex Windsor next.
[00:52:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, that seems. But yeah, I expected song. I like the end to when she just starts dancing and Taz goes, let the girl dance. She has nine titles.
[00:52:42] Speaker A: Yes. It was the time. It was the time on Sprockets when we dance.
[00:52:46] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:52:47] Speaker D: On top of the ECW Arena.
[00:52:51] Speaker A: We worked in another Mike Myers joke this week.
And then commentary debates whether they should. Should call them belts championships or titles.
[00:53:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:53:02] Speaker D: Somewhere Vince is just himself.
[00:53:04] Speaker B: Just.
[00:53:05] Speaker D: Just.
[00:53:06] Speaker A: There's a lot of shout outs.
[00:53:07] Speaker B: Yeah, I forgot that was even like a WWE as I forgot the title belt thing. Like, it was a, you know, local medical facility type thing.
[00:53:16] Speaker D: Washable.
[00:53:17] Speaker A: Because Vince was a weird psychopath about that.
[00:53:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Belts aren't as prestigious. It's like, we know what it means, you weirdo.
[00:53:24] Speaker D: Oh, dang, y', all. I just got a A bite on a application in. In the. That I applied for while doing the show.
So this is fun. See here we're going to continue the blurred lines of this kfab.
[00:53:40] Speaker A: Y' all just like, ecw.
[00:53:45] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly. I mean, all the people working it have a day job.
[00:53:49] Speaker B: You're going to shoot yourself into a work. Work, literally.
[00:53:56] Speaker D: No, it wasn't. Duncan, thank.
[00:54:01] Speaker A: A little quick inner video interview with Mark Briscoe at the chicken farm in Delaware.
[00:54:06] Speaker C: He done had a dang baby.
[00:54:08] Speaker A: He had another baby chicken.
[00:54:10] Speaker B: You know, another. I'm all full of fun facts tonight. Apparently. You remember the vignette they did where, like, the Jeff Jarrett family went out to Mark Bruce coast farm and Satnam Singh had the baby and was, like, playing with the baby and stuff. This was. You might not have been watched by. This was like, a couple years ago. All right. This is the second baby Mark Brisco has had since then. This was. That was in, like, 2003.
[00:54:31] Speaker A: I don't know how many.
[00:54:33] Speaker B: 23. But I think he's, like, not eight or nine. Like, I mean, I could be wrong.
I like that he hands the baby off and he, like, goes, take this and go.
[00:54:43] Speaker A: Go.
[00:54:44] Speaker B: Yes. A weird pause before.
[00:54:47] Speaker A: I feel like if Mark wasn't, like, actually a cool guy, I would be, like, deeply concerned that he's some kind of Christian weirdo.
[00:54:55] Speaker D: Like, quiverful.
[00:54:56] Speaker A: Like. Yeah, yeah. I was gonna. I didn't want to say quiverful because I say that's, like, a whole thing that we could get into that I would talk about.
[00:55:05] Speaker B: No, but I know.
[00:55:07] Speaker C: I don't know what that is. We'll talk off air.
[00:55:09] Speaker A: We'll talk about.
Yeah, I think he just likes being a dad bad.
[00:55:14] Speaker B: I think he's just really into being a father.
[00:55:16] Speaker A: I think he likes.
[00:55:18] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:55:23] Speaker A: Sorry, I don't.
[00:55:24] Speaker C: I don't know what came over me.
[00:55:27] Speaker D: Yeah, the guy likes to sew an oath, you know?
[00:55:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:55:31] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:55:32] Speaker D: I should probably figure out where this place is. I got an interview tomorrow.
[00:55:37] Speaker C: It's on the roof of the ECW arena.
[00:55:41] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly.
[00:55:46] Speaker D: It's gonna be my favorite callback for the next, like, three weeks. I'm gonna be.
[00:55:50] Speaker B: Keep doing it.
[00:55:51] Speaker D: You're all gonna be so sick of me.
[00:55:56] Speaker C: Would you feel like a jib, jab, gif of your head on a body dancing on top of a static arena?
[00:56:05] Speaker D: Oh, you're giving me so many ideas anyways.
[00:56:09] Speaker B: Grand craps graphs. Yeah.
[00:56:10] Speaker A: Grabs, grabs. Oh, all right. We're still in the Mark Briscoe thing.
So the purpose of this is mjf he, he does. He wanted to make sure that he didn't get a cheap win. And he's challenged Kyle Fletcher to a TNT title match. Cool.
All right.
[00:56:25] Speaker C: I like all that.
[00:56:26] Speaker B: Did they say are they doing next week on Dynamite or is it collision.
[00:56:29] Speaker A: Or did they not say I don't.
[00:56:31] Speaker B: Or just that it's gonna be in the Philly residency?
[00:56:33] Speaker C: Can't believe.
[00:56:33] Speaker B: So either way it'll be dope. Yeah. Fletcher's awesome.
[00:56:38] Speaker A: Yeah, they had a great. I think he, he, he got a win over Fletcher in the C2 last year.
[00:56:43] Speaker B: Yeah, they had a match in it that was really good. If I remember right.
[00:56:46] Speaker A: It was awesome. It was when he brought back the cutthroat driver for the first time.
[00:56:50] Speaker B: Yeah, that's right.
[00:56:51] Speaker A: Yeah. This whole run.
[00:56:52] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:56:52] Speaker A: Next match, an All Star 8 Man Tag match of the Don family.
[00:56:57] Speaker B: I love that they're keeping this going just every week having a crazy multi man like huge match, bunch of wild spots with all the best wrestlers.
[00:57:05] Speaker C: I do like Don Callis practicing his Spanish. That, that is getting funnier every week.
[00:57:11] Speaker D: Okay, but you say, you say practicing it, but it's not getting any better.
[00:57:15] Speaker B: He held it, he held that O on Hechisero for like he did like.
[00:57:20] Speaker C: It was nosed up La familia de Don.
[00:57:28] Speaker B: And he came out, out, he came out doing like the Cyrus the Virus. Old ECW attention. Yeah.
We'll call back to that. Which I thought was very.
[00:57:37] Speaker A: There was references to the network.
[00:57:40] Speaker C: Sure.
[00:57:41] Speaker A: And his betrayal scooch for anyone. Yep.
So, yes, the Dodd Callous family is represented by Hachicero, Josh Alexander, My husband Konosuke Takeshita and Kazuchika Okada.
That guy.
[00:57:56] Speaker B: What a lineup.
[00:57:57] Speaker C: What a team. Yeah.
[00:57:58] Speaker A: They're wrestling Jet Speed and Brodido and what a lineup.
[00:58:02] Speaker C: What a team.
[00:58:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
Yeah. The Don Callis like it's a murderer's row for his side.
[00:58:11] Speaker B: Insane faction. And they also have handsome. Wardlow comes out.
[00:58:15] Speaker A: Yeah, he's just. That's right, that's right. Wardlow. Wardlow returned and he was.
[00:58:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:58:21] Speaker A: Looming over.
[00:58:22] Speaker B: He wears suits.
[00:58:24] Speaker A: He looms like a henge.
[00:58:26] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:58:28] Speaker D: A real big beefy henge.
[00:58:30] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:58:31] Speaker D: Large meaty henge.
[00:58:33] Speaker A: He is large and meaty. I, I don't know. I, I, I was curious to know what they would do with Wardlow now that he's back. But apparently the answer is he still. Yeah, he's a heater.
[00:58:43] Speaker C: Look pretty.
[00:58:44] Speaker B: That's kind of what he does best though.
[00:58:46] Speaker A: I mean it's, I mean and he's.
[00:58:48] Speaker B: When they've been trying to push him into, like, solo star stuff is when it kind of fumbles a little. Like, he's great at just killing people and looking intimidating. I mean, they should. If they do something more with them. Cool. I'd like to see it work. But in the meantime, him and like Lance are turned a tag team or something would be sick.
[00:59:03] Speaker C: His face turn in a year to a year and a half, leaving the Don Callis family will be good, but it will not be as good as Canopy 2 casters soon to be face turn from the Don Callis family.
[00:59:16] Speaker B: Indeed.
[00:59:17] Speaker A: I'm looking forward to that.
[00:59:19] Speaker D: Oh, the. The face turn. Him and Okada is just the hottest.
[00:59:23] Speaker A: All right. So, yeah, there was a lot of. A lot of layers to this match, in fact.
So we have Bandido and Hachicero are wrestling at death before dishonor for the world title.
So they started out the match against each other. They do lucha stuff. Brody King comes in. It hurts people.
[00:59:45] Speaker D: He hurts people.
[00:59:46] Speaker A: Jet speed come in, continue the offense.
[00:59:48] Speaker B: Don says he can't stand Mike Bailey.
[00:59:50] Speaker A: Yeah. Because again, so like, we're back to the. The Quebec hate.
[00:59:55] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. Well, you guys are countrymen. No, he's no Quebec.
[01:00:01] Speaker A: That. But this is why Josh Alexander is okay.
[01:00:03] Speaker B: Yeah. Because he's Canadian. That was the difference.
[01:00:06] Speaker A: Hands. And now, now we get into the layers because. Yeah, Takeshita and Okada try to tag in at the same time and they get in each other's face about it. And it's. It's worrisome enough that Don Callis throws his headset, which pisses off pads and runs down to the ring. Yeah. To break it up. He runs down to break it up. Taz's like, stop throwing your headset, dog.
[01:00:35] Speaker D: T is having flashbacks to, like, when.
[01:00:38] Speaker B: You'D have to pay for that.
[01:00:40] Speaker D: It comes out of my paycheck.
[01:00:41] Speaker B: Well, I like when you can tell when Taz is genuinely mad about something. Cuz he doesn't really, like, get. He just kind of like, yeah, got rude there. Don got rude.
[01:00:54] Speaker C: This did have my Taz of the week, which it was.
It was the silliest line that he had. But it got a genuine pop from me.
[01:01:06] Speaker A: Let me.
[01:01:06] Speaker C: Let me check my notes here. He's just like, don the whopping web Don the walking weapon is a walking weapon.
[01:01:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:01:22] Speaker D: The John Madden like, you know.
[01:01:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:01:26] Speaker D: That's the whole thing.
[01:01:28] Speaker A: I was so glad to have Taz back this week.
[01:01:30] Speaker B: Ye. We. I missed him.
[01:01:31] Speaker C: And then I think like a couple seconds later.
A couple seconds later, Excalibur goes Shivani here.
[01:01:39] Speaker B: That was a great.
[01:01:40] Speaker A: It was multiple times. We're like, is Shivani here because of some dumb. That was said by somebody.
[01:01:48] Speaker C: Is. Is Shivani. Is there a Shivani in the booth with us tonight?
[01:01:51] Speaker D: You feel his presence.
[01:01:53] Speaker A: Two knocks for yes. Yeah, they're gonna have a Ouija board. I hope they don't need a Ouija. Ouija. Talk to Tony?
[01:02:01] Speaker C: Not either.
[01:02:01] Speaker A: I hope he's fine. He's fine. Pretty basic heat segment. The heat heels all get their in. Speedball is the one getting beat up, but he does tag in Brody who runs wild, but he misses the cannonball. Gets German by Alexander.
[01:02:17] Speaker B: That was sick.
That was a cool spot.
[01:02:20] Speaker A: That was really nice. They do a whole segment where everybody hits a big move on somebody else and then everybody's down and the crowd is cheering. Yay it wrestling.
[01:02:29] Speaker B: I think that's the spot where like Tesha dodges a kick from Bailey by like matrixing away from it and then counters it into a power bomb. That was killer.
[01:02:38] Speaker A: Yeah, we got some DDT classic Tesha versus Bailey going on.
[01:02:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I forgot. Moonlight Express.
[01:02:45] Speaker A: Moonlight Express.
[01:02:46] Speaker B: Shout out to Ma. Facing Minoru Suzuki this weekend.
[01:02:50] Speaker A: He's drinking that king. I'll show you the picture. I'll show you the promo picture for that match. Later.
Speedy hits their double knee gimmick on Tesha for two.
But he's isolated to catch to stop Socata from hitting a move of his own so he could do a lariat.
[01:03:08] Speaker B: I can't remember where it was. There was one point where like they're whipping one of the faces into the corner and like when, like it's Takeshita and then Okada and Takeshita runs up and you know, hits the move. And then when Okada's about to run up and hit the face, Takesha like pulls the face out of the way and starts fighting him off to the side. Yeah, yeah.
[01:03:25] Speaker A: This is, this is the thing I'm talking about because yeah, he's very much like trying to one up Okada. And Speedball winds up alone with Josh Alexander. He goes for like the big shooting star. Press misses, flash pin and Don Callis family wins. This was kick ass.
[01:03:43] Speaker B: A lot of roll up wins tonight. I agree, man. I'm not complaining at all.
[01:03:47] Speaker A: Yeah, I think they want to just save something for later they can do. Josh Alexander versus Speedball down to nine match.
[01:03:54] Speaker B: Yeah, we know. Very, very fun match. That was awesome.
[01:03:58] Speaker A: This is great.
When it, when a match like this happens in Philly, it's not a PWG style. Match. It's a Jakara style match.
[01:04:06] Speaker B: Exactly. Yep.
[01:04:07] Speaker C: So once you cross the Mississippi.
[01:04:09] Speaker B: They did one of my favorite spots too, which is where Brody and Hechisero are running and they both go to do the diving cross body and like hit each other and bounce off of each other. Like, you see that in smaller guys doing. But seeing two big boys doing that. Yeah.
Lucha Brody.
[01:04:25] Speaker A: Lucha Brody.
Great match. Commercial. And then Hangman comes out for a promo. Yay. Yay. Philly loves Cowboy.
[01:04:36] Speaker C: Get well soon, Will. Is the first three minutes I.
[01:04:39] Speaker B: A lot of talking about. Like I said, Osprey hangs over this show quite.
[01:04:44] Speaker A: Yeah. I think because he was the big story going into Forbidden Door. A lot of people are just like, if you need neck surgery, why are you wrestling?
What are you doing with what you said earlier? He's.
[01:05:00] Speaker C: He's really the catalyst for like the next. The next page of the AEW storybook.
[01:05:05] Speaker B: Well, there's the famous picture from after when Danielson gets choked out by the Death Riders at Wrestle Dream where it's the end shot is hooked Garcia, Orange, Cassidy and.
Oh, my God, I'm blanking on who the last person was all on the ground because they'd all come out to save them and they're all like looking sad on the ground.
[01:05:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:05:24] Speaker B: And it's like, okay, now it's like their time to kind of move on.
I'm dying. I can't think of who the first fourth person was. But yeah, that's. But like, I feel like they're kind of setting this up, being like, okay, now it's time to start working on these guys.
[01:05:38] Speaker A: All right, so. Yes, he does. Thank you, Will Ospreay. Get well soon King that he addresses mjf. He had a shot at the world title at on Sunday and failed. Like, he emphasized failed. He tried every trick he had and he failed.
[01:05:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:05:56] Speaker A: And if he ever finds the courage to sign the contract that he's got, he will beat MJ's ass before the ink is dried. Good line.
[01:06:06] Speaker B: Yeah, I like it.
[01:06:06] Speaker A: Fantastic.
Oh, but our Canadian friend Cyrus Virus.
[01:06:12] Speaker D: Is back and couldn't stay away no matter how much we asked this.
[01:06:19] Speaker A: This was hilarious because he claims that Hangman beat him.
[01:06:24] Speaker B: Yeah, he took his.
[01:06:25] Speaker A: His belt because his guy was a weakling.
His guy being Kenneth J. Omega.
[01:06:34] Speaker B: Well, Kenny Guts Omega.
[01:06:39] Speaker D: Could smell of.
[01:06:40] Speaker A: The mirror and smell the diverticulitis through the computer.
[01:06:45] Speaker C: He said that on tv.
[01:06:46] Speaker B: I love you. Yeah, he was talking about a cat, of course.
[01:06:49] Speaker A: But of course.
[01:06:51] Speaker C: No, he was talking about Kenny. By God, Omega.
[01:06:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:06:55] Speaker A: The whole locker room wants Hangman's title. And he knows that's a fact because he signed half of them.
[01:07:02] Speaker D: Yeah, I got. Yeah, I got half of them on roster. Yeah.
[01:07:07] Speaker A: So this, this brings out Lance Archer, Alexander, Rocky Romero and Hechyro. And they surround the ring.
[01:07:12] Speaker B: Rocky getting that payday.
[01:07:14] Speaker A: Yep. Hangman tries to fight on his way.
[01:07:16] Speaker B: Out, but I think he like faked starting a promo. He like grabbed. He's like, well, I guess there's only one. And then he just like dives on Archer on the outside. I was like, that was a smart little baby face bit of cleverness.
[01:07:28] Speaker A: This knows how it's going to end. Jet Speed come out to try and make a save, but Don passes out a steel baton and he's going to do severe damage to somebody. Until the aforementioned Kenneth J. Fitzgerald Kennedy Omega added way more names him. But I'm just gonna keep doing it.
Kenny Omega comes out, runs wild Clean's house. Him and Hangman hit a buckshot V trigger combo on Lance Archer. And like they put over the fact that it's been a long time.
Yeah, yeah, it's been a long time since these two have like been together in the ring as friends.
[01:08:09] Speaker B: I think I'll say too. I like that, like Jet Speed's role is now. Whenever their baby face is in peril, they automatically spawn. Yeah, every. Every babyface beat down for like the last month and a half. Jetsby's the first one. Like, no, it. We're out. Let's go.
[01:08:23] Speaker A: They're the. They're the Elden Ring summon spirits. You just like ring a little bell, get the kicked out of them, and they pop out. It's like, okay, I was good for like two seconds of distraction.
[01:08:35] Speaker C: Hey, sometimes it's all it takes.
[01:08:39] Speaker B: This is cool to see. I mean, this is like Kenny and Hangman back together. That's classic aew.
[01:08:45] Speaker A: And a match is made for next week where Kenny and Hangman will be teaming together again for the first time alongside Jet Speed to take on members of the Don Callis family. I don't remember who all it was, but that's gonna be cool.
[01:09:00] Speaker B: Yeah, it's Young Bucks and.
[01:09:02] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. Oh, that's right, the Young Bucks. Yeah, the Young Bucks are part of the gala's family.
[01:09:06] Speaker B: Technically, they're all associated.
[01:09:08] Speaker A: Now we get next to a Tony Storm and Mir Nishir Kawa promo. Athena, I am the woman in search of my murder.
And after Forbidden Door, I find myself tragically still alive. And you found yourself beatable, defeatable Eatable. And now my girlfriend's coming after the leftovers. This is the love bum.
[01:09:30] Speaker B: She just like pops her tits out.
[01:09:34] Speaker C: She really did.
[01:09:39] Speaker A: Amazing. He's well endowed. This is the love bum, Mina Shirakawa and a death before designer. She's gonna love you and leave you just like I did did. You broke her poor little hand. Mina, how's your hand feeling now? And then she just the out of.
[01:09:54] Speaker B: Slap Tony and Tony's into it.
[01:09:56] Speaker A: My God, you're back.
[01:10:01] Speaker B: Those two are so entertaining together. Like they really play off each other. So Mariah May who like.
[01:10:07] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:10:10] Speaker B: But it's. They're great. They also are interspersing with a promo from Athena during this where she's just making ECW references. References the entire time. Like I have been the show.
[01:10:20] Speaker A: Well, they didn't leave without an ECW reference themselves. As Mina declares that she will win the Women's World Championship, the Ring of Honor Women's World Championship and then together dance atop the ECW Arena.
[01:10:38] Speaker B: Yeah, that's right. We can.
[01:10:41] Speaker A: That was great. Athena, that is basically saying like she's gonna throw her off the. If she wants to dance up there, she's gonna throw her off the top. What she's gonna do. And make the Blue Meanie quiver.
And the Sandman himself.
It's probably not too hard to do these days.
[01:11:01] Speaker B: Yeah, it was a fun little back and forth though. I'm excited for the match. I'm. I'm planning to buy a month of honor club tomorrow and watch like that. Between that and Hechisero versus Bandido. That's. Oh, already?
[01:11:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:11:14] Speaker C: I'm going to a family gathering tomorrow and I am gonna do my best to strong arm and put that on the television.
[01:11:20] Speaker A: Yeah, there you go.
[01:11:22] Speaker B: The family must learn about Hetrocera.
[01:11:24] Speaker A: We're watching Hechy Sarah and there's two.
[01:11:26] Speaker B: Sammy Guevara matches on it.
[01:11:28] Speaker A: Oh boy. Hey. He's teaming with.
[01:11:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Teaming with a mystery opponent. And they're doing the tag and the trio as matches. But also Lee Moriarty's going off up against the CMLL guy for the pure title. Like it'll be a fun show. Oh, and QT Marshall versus Paul Walter Hauser in a fight without honor. Which should be something.
[01:11:49] Speaker C: Why not?
[01:11:51] Speaker B: Y star of film, QT Marshall.
[01:11:55] Speaker D: Yes.
[01:11:55] Speaker A: Next world the the World Trios Championship is on the line. Ricochet and the Gates of Agony. The Ops Ricochet is either doing a tribute to Jack Victory with his trunks or it's like the old school Vancouver Canucks jersey. I don't know.
[01:12:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:12:13] Speaker A: Not sure he stooges a bit for Hobbs, like, you know, trying to do a whip, but the heels do get control after, like, a really nasty chop battle between Shibata and Bishop Khan.
[01:12:26] Speaker B: Yeah, that was sick. Yeah, they were. I won a singles match between those two. That was badass. Gates of Agony looks great here, like. Yeah, They've really come together so well. Well, them with Ricochet is just a perfect trio.
[01:12:39] Speaker A: Yeah. Of all the things I could think of in wrestling, like, one of the least things I'd want to do is, like, chop fight with Shabata.
[01:12:45] Speaker B: Shabata.
[01:12:46] Speaker C: Right, right.
[01:12:47] Speaker A: Because, like, I heard those things live. They sound like a gunshot going off.
[01:12:52] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:12:52] Speaker A: Every single time.
[01:12:54] Speaker B: Imagine that's like, his whole job at the LA Dojo is just to, like, hit those guys.
[01:12:58] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:12:59] Speaker B: All right, game, kid. Get over here.
[01:13:01] Speaker C: Good morning. You're going to learn today.
[01:13:05] Speaker A: I imagine Shabbata's. Maybe he's a nice teacher.
[01:13:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:13:08] Speaker A: He seems like maybe he only hits them at 50.
[01:13:10] Speaker B: I don't think there's. I don't think there's that much niceness teaching in any kind of, like, Japanese wrestling dojo, probably.
[01:13:17] Speaker A: I'd like to apologize.
[01:13:19] Speaker C: This is a. Not a visual medium, but I am sitting here gritting my teeth and shaking my head saying, absolutely not.
[01:13:26] Speaker A: It could be worse. You could be learning to be a sumo wrestler.
They do a thing where Ricochet gets in a cheap shot, and then, like, Ricochet and Gates of Agony all pose on the apron as they go.
[01:13:38] Speaker B: This was great.
[01:13:39] Speaker A: And then Aubrey, like, comes in, is like, get the back in the ring. And scares the out of Rick.
[01:13:45] Speaker B: It jumps out of his skin during the commercial break, which Taz dies.
[01:13:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:13:50] Speaker B: I've never heard him laugh so hard.
[01:13:52] Speaker A: This pop Taz. So hard. Word.
[01:13:54] Speaker C: He's just like, I've never. I've never seen that before.
[01:13:58] Speaker A: He scared him.
[01:14:00] Speaker B: It was great.
It was great. Ricochet stooge like, he is. We talk about it, but he's really just embodies this, like, heel character so well. But stuff like. That's amazing.
[01:14:12] Speaker C: He hit the E, A, G, L, E S Eagles chant, which then got turned into a B, A, L, D, I, E Baldy chant for the crowd.
[01:14:19] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:14:21] Speaker C: Amazing.
[01:14:22] Speaker A: That's my town. We're good. We're good at that. Yep. This had my. My tabs of the night where he. He actually said, what a maneuver.
He actually said, what a maneuver. To which Excalibur replies, who are you, Shivan?
No, no, someone else. Somebody else.
[01:14:47] Speaker B: That one where Ian was Like, rattling off a bunch of abbreviations at one point. And Taz goes, that's too many letters. I'm a product of the public New York public school system. Slow down.
[01:14:55] Speaker A: Yeah, it's good. Come back from commercial. We get Hobbs and Toy Leona going at it, which gets meat, chance, big.
[01:15:03] Speaker B: Me face off here.
[01:15:04] Speaker C: Okay, it is meat. I've been for weeks. I can't tell if it's meat or beef. I couldn't tell.
[01:15:11] Speaker B: I think it interchanges like.
[01:15:13] Speaker C: Okay, great.
[01:15:13] Speaker B: I think. Think meat is the official. Cuz there was that Meat Madness match they tried to do with, like, Rusev and them that fell through back.
[01:15:22] Speaker D: Yeah, it happened organically.
[01:15:23] Speaker B: I think that's what it spawned, like, from people chanting meat. And then they tried match out of it, but, like, a bunch of people got injured and they put Clark Connors in for some reason. And then it's just got. I've heard meat and beef since then. And it all goes back to. What's his name? Biggie. Big meaty man slapping me.
[01:15:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:15:42] Speaker D: Five star classic.
[01:15:46] Speaker B: That changed the landscape of wrestling.
[01:15:50] Speaker D: He put it so succinctly.
[01:15:52] Speaker B: Like, meaty man slapping meat.
[01:15:54] Speaker A: It's kind of what we understood that, like. Yeah, we. We like it when we all knew what.
[01:15:58] Speaker B: Like, that's such a better way to say hos fight.
[01:16:00] Speaker A: Like, yeah, meat match. Meat match.
[01:16:04] Speaker D: Yeah. Big meaty men slapping meat. That's the best.
[01:16:07] Speaker C: So Biggie likes was a big favorite in. In my household growing up, which, I know I'm younger than y', all, but when we were high schoolers, he was doing his thing, and my one friend was a huge fan, and every time he would take the straps down, he would just point at the TV and yell titties.
And that just. That just stuck. And, like, that's all I can think about anytime.
[01:16:39] Speaker B: I love Biggie. I love Old New Day. Like, that was awesome.
[01:16:42] Speaker D: Well, and Biggie wanted to say titties when he was given the big meaty men thing. He said. He said breasts, but you could tell.
[01:16:48] Speaker B: For a second there, he almost said himself.
[01:16:52] Speaker A: Biggie, we salute you.
Let you have your last name back.
Yeah. What happened in this match? Not really a whole.
[01:17:01] Speaker B: No, it was a shorter one, but there was some cool stuff.
[01:17:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:17:04] Speaker B: And look at. Yeah. Big strike exchanges.
[01:17:06] Speaker A: I. I like. I want to see Samoa Joe vs. J in a full match.
[01:17:11] Speaker B: Yeah. Joe hit ricochet with, like, the crispest snap power slam I've seen in a long time. You did that perfect last time I.
[01:17:19] Speaker A: Saw Samoa Joe power slam in that arena with power Slam Necro Butcher on his face, which I know Necro Butcher sucks, but that matches.
[01:17:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, that's class. Yeah, that's classic.
Yeah. MVP is here too. I was gonna say he came out.
[01:17:37] Speaker A: He was.
Yeah.
[01:17:39] Speaker B: MVP comes out and.
[01:17:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[01:17:43] Speaker B: So I think what else happened.
[01:17:45] Speaker A: This is a little bit of a fallout from the pay per view because Ricochet and his boys cost the Hurts Syndicate the tag team titles.
So this brought some revenge from mvp.
[01:17:58] Speaker B: Which all this goes back to the her syndicate rejecting Ricochet like, eight months ago. Like, they've done a good job, kind of. I know, like, we talk about this being to protect the Hurts indicates, but at least they're weaving it into a story.
[01:18:09] Speaker A: Like, so Ricochet is choked out and VP gets a little bit of revenge for what happened at Forbidden Door.
The apps retain the titles.
Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley come out as the fans just are roaring. We hurt people. People.
As they brawl.
[01:18:28] Speaker B: That shit's always so over.
[01:18:29] Speaker D: It's crazy.
[01:18:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:18:30] Speaker C: Yeah, it's awesome.
[01:18:31] Speaker D: They finally found a way to get. Everyone found a way to finally all get on the right spot right away now, like, it took them. It took a. Like, a month where everyone's, like, coming in way, way off, where it's gone.
[01:18:46] Speaker A: Perfect.
[01:18:47] Speaker B: Yeah, they did a great job tonight.
[01:18:48] Speaker C: When you have a tiny arena of 200 people, it's a lot easier.
[01:18:54] Speaker A: And also, as we. We saw from the back, like, they're, like, outside, like, they're. They don't really have a locker room. They're out back in the parking lot. Yeah.
So that brings us to the main event of the night. Darby Allen vs. Claudia Castagnoli falls count anywhere, or as some places might call it, extreme rules.
[01:19:16] Speaker B: I just wrote down this is crazy, like, five times through my notes, like, throughout this match.
[01:19:20] Speaker A: Yeah, I just.
[01:19:21] Speaker B: Every other line is just like, this is insane.
[01:19:23] Speaker A: Yep. So, like, it starts out, Claudio's making his death riders and from the back, and Darby is actually just hanging out on top of a shipping crate.
Yeah. So he just launches himself at Claudio. Who is Claudio? So he's like, you launches shopping cart. Yep. He puts him in a shopping cart.
[01:19:47] Speaker B: Does the old jackass, dumps him into chairs.
[01:19:51] Speaker A: Then just as an extra, you power bombs him through a tv.
[01:19:56] Speaker B: Yeah, there's three just out of this world spots within, like, the span of the first four minutes of the match. That TV did nothing. They, like, set it up like a door like they do at hardcore store matches. And he just went through it onto the pavement.
[01:20:11] Speaker A: My.
[01:20:11] Speaker C: My notes for this match went Claudio versus Darby and go.
[01:20:15] Speaker A: Because it just started.
Yeah.
[01:20:19] Speaker B: I think they knew they didn't have a ton of time left for this because it started at like 9:50 or whatever. And they like, all right, just dive right in here.
[01:20:28] Speaker A: Well, you know, Uncle Billy. Careful.
[01:20:30] Speaker C: Uncle Bully's gonna get mad.
[01:20:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:20:32] Speaker A: Oh, he loves his overruns. What are you talking about?
[01:20:34] Speaker C: Oh, sorry, I misread the sign.
[01:20:36] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness. So, yeah, then Claudio literally just drags him from. From the parking lot production area into the arena, does the giant swing and just like him down the ramp.
[01:20:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Swings him down the entryway. That was insane.
[01:20:56] Speaker A: I really. I really think they just said go and hit the ramp.
[01:21:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
Tosses them into like, the guardrails too, at the end of it.
[01:21:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:21:06] Speaker B: Which is always.
[01:21:06] Speaker C: Almost takes out a couple people like.
[01:21:09] Speaker B: I. Oh, like you do.
[01:21:13] Speaker A: Let's see. Darby manages to fight back with a suicide dive. He does like a. Just throws himself at Claudio and then he climbs one of these stanchions. I don't know what to call him.
[01:21:25] Speaker B: Yeah, it's like a pillar type thing.
[01:21:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So, like, they have a pillar.
[01:21:28] Speaker D: That's funny.
[01:21:29] Speaker A: But they're holding up a staff thing. He climbs it, and then coffin drops Claudia from the top of the it.
[01:21:36] Speaker B: I think there was like an old ECW moment that was like somebody doing a moonsault or something off that all back to. I don't.
[01:21:43] Speaker A: Yeah, I believe it was. Matt Cross did a flag pole press, which, if you know what that is, is he can like, hold himself straight.
[01:21:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:21:55] Speaker A: Parallel from the ground.
[01:21:56] Speaker B: The dragon kid thing, it's. That should take some core strength.
[01:22:01] Speaker A: I. I think he did it. I know somebody did moonsault off it and a CZW match, but that doesn't.
This is. This is not. This is not that pillar. This is a different.
[01:22:13] Speaker B: Oh, it's not. Okay, gotcha. Yeah, it was a crazy spot.
The coffin drop always boggles my mind.
[01:22:20] Speaker A: He's learned to look a few times, I've noticed. Like, actually look where he's going.
Yeah. This was just like Claudio throwing the dude around.
[01:22:31] Speaker D: Around quite literally at one point. Yeah.
[01:22:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:22:35] Speaker A: So I got small guy going flying and then gets an uppercut.
Claudia screams at the announced table to move, and then he.
[01:22:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Clear the desk. Yeah.
[01:22:46] Speaker A: Press the. He launches Darby.
[01:22:50] Speaker B: Yeah. He pulled the. Was it. Bam. Bam. Bigelow and Spike Dudley where he overhead press, but instead of into the crowd, he bounces him off the dash mask.
[01:23:00] Speaker A: He could have made a crowd if he wanted to.
[01:23:02] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[01:23:03] Speaker C: My goodness. Easily. I got A message from a friend right as we started recording that just said, catching up on wrestling tonight. Claudio and Darby are insane for their table spot.
Yeah, they sure were.
[01:23:15] Speaker D: Well, so were Bam Bam and Spike, because, you know, it was the same thing of just like, if. If I die, I die. Let's.
[01:23:22] Speaker B: The funny thing is, like, the week before this, Obafemi and Jayvon Evans and NXT did the exact same spot, too, and so forth. Everyone's like, oh, they ripped it off.
[01:23:30] Speaker A: Like, no, they're just in the ECW Arena. Like, even if you just.
[01:23:35] Speaker B: Claudio's going to toss Darby. That's what he does. He's the strongest man in the world, and Darby's a rag doll.
[01:23:41] Speaker A: And he did it at Forbidden Door. Like, he launched him into the cage.
[01:23:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:23:45] Speaker A: And like, everybody at that point said, like, he would have kept going if the cage wasn't there, which is a cool spot. Like, they're awesome.
[01:23:54] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, there's only so many spots in the world, like, going to get used close to each other when you're putting.
[01:23:59] Speaker D: Matches together, especially when you're both homaging the same spot.
[01:24:03] Speaker B: Yeah. And respect to OPEM and Jayvon Evans. They're actually really. I don't watch much nxt, but I like Jayvon Evans quite a bit.
[01:24:10] Speaker D: I don't know who either of those people are, but I hope everyone had a good time.
[01:24:14] Speaker B: Yeah, he was an old DPW guy. Deadlock that got called up. And, yeah, I wish him the best because that's a cool promotion.
[01:24:22] Speaker A: Good for him. Him. Well, this.
This just completely takes out the announce desk.
Silent for several minutes.
Yeah, it's just like Claudio is a. Despite his Death Rider background, he is a European gentleman. He puts the chairs back.
[01:24:44] Speaker B: I thought that was a great bit where he puts it. And then he, like, ushers them. He's like, yeah, sit down, sit down, down. Because they weren't sure what.
[01:24:51] Speaker C: He's like, setting the chairs up and they're like, no, no, no, no, no, don't put it. And then he's just like, sit, sit down.
[01:24:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
Yeah. I actually kind of thought. I really liked it without that commentary out. It really kind of added an atmosphere, like a dangerousness to everything that was happening for, like, those few minutes.
[01:25:08] Speaker C: I realized I don't know the last time I've, like, watched wrestling like that. No commentary. And like, yeah, it makes a lot.
[01:25:17] Speaker B: Of Japanese, like, smaller promotions don't have commentary, and I'm iffy on it.
[01:25:22] Speaker D: Aw's been putting stuff on YouTube without.
[01:25:24] Speaker B: Yeah, they upload a lot of commentary. Free matches now.
[01:25:27] Speaker A: Check some of that out. It was something that they did in old Ring of Honor, too. Like, the announce crew would just say the action speaks for itself, and then they just shut the out.
[01:25:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Let it breathe for a few. Yeah, that's cool.
[01:25:39] Speaker A: So, yeah, commentary is silent except for Taz, who's like, periodically just like, cutting in and out, going, whoa.
[01:25:46] Speaker B: The only one with a headset. It's barely working.
[01:25:50] Speaker A: Claudia is just beating the ever loving out of Darby, like you should.
[01:25:55] Speaker B: Yeah. That's the story of this match is just. Claudio is brutal to Darby for like, 90 of this.
[01:26:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:26:01] Speaker A: Two. Two tables are set up on opposite side of the ring in the corners. Ah, what. What happened? All right, so Darby, like, avoids it by getting, like, guillotine.
[01:26:13] Speaker B: Yeah, the choke. Darby catches a choke on him, and Claudio, like, muscles him up and throws.
[01:26:19] Speaker A: Him through the table. And I'm thinking, oh, okay, now Claudia's gonna go through the other one. No, no, he just doesn't.
[01:26:28] Speaker C: And it was the table.
[01:26:31] Speaker B: Well, because. Yeah, the table didn't break. He, like, bounced off of it.
[01:26:34] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:26:35] Speaker B: Then he picks him up and he gets that power bomb.
[01:26:37] Speaker D: Yeah. He's like, okay, yeah, yeah, I need to get some. I'm sorry, little buddy. I need the torque.
Yeah.
To. To which Darby responded, kill me. Just please kill me.
[01:26:52] Speaker C: As always, end my insufferable pain.
[01:26:55] Speaker D: And I mean, to be fair, Claudio was beating on him like he'd read the allegations, so good for him.
[01:27:01] Speaker C: He tried his damnedest.
[01:27:03] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:27:03] Speaker D: Yeah. Went for it.
[01:27:04] Speaker C: Thank you, Claudio.
[01:27:06] Speaker D: Exactly.
Good on you, Swizz.
[01:27:09] Speaker C: This bud's for you.
[01:27:11] Speaker A: So Darby, he's gonna try it.
Slingshot Darby, and he. He just jumps to the top rope, gets a double stomp.
[01:27:21] Speaker B: That was a cool spot, though. That was really slick.
[01:27:24] Speaker A: He's gonna throw him from an electric chair. But he does some eye rolls, gets a victory roll, and then code red, two coffin drops, and that's the win.
[01:27:33] Speaker B: There was another really sick spot where they had a bunch of chairs set up in the middle of the.
[01:27:37] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, I guess I got Fisherman Buster into it.
[01:27:42] Speaker B: Yeah, that was absolutely brutal. And there was a point, too, where Claudio goes through one of the tables, because it goes for, like, I think he goes for a European uppercut or something. And Darby, like, gets out of the way, and Claudio puts himself through it. They just went wild on this.
[01:27:55] Speaker C: Yeah, this.
[01:27:56] Speaker A: This was Darby Allen at his best. Like, this is.
[01:28:00] Speaker B: This is where he excels. This is a rag doll like that gets the kicked out of him in crazy ways. Like, that's Darby's be.
[01:28:08] Speaker C: Who better to take?
Claudio. Yeah.
[01:28:12] Speaker A: The strongest man that's ever lived. Yeah.
Casting only.
I've said a lot about Darby that, like, unfortunately he's very good and this show kind of proved it. I know the allegations are out there, but, like, we are apparently stuck with him, so.
[01:28:31] Speaker D: Yeah, exactly. So it's the same with Osprey. It's like, okay, yeah, I don't like any of this, but God, but me, is he over?
[01:28:40] Speaker A: You know, if he's gonna be here, he may as well have good matches. And I still have the criticism of I want to see him actually evolve.
[01:28:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:28:51] Speaker A: As a wrestler, because he still just does these car crash matches.
[01:28:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:28:57] Speaker D: That's all he really knows.
[01:28:59] Speaker B: Yeah. I will say one thing I liked in this was they ended a false count anywhere match in the ring. Ring, like you don't see normally. It's set up where it's like a pin up in the stands or somewhere where I was like, oh, yeah, it is anywhere, including the ring. Like, why not end it there? You gave this little variety.
[01:29:13] Speaker D: It was kind of cool that they. They started it way the away, you.
[01:29:17] Speaker B: Know what I mean, and then work their way to the ring.
[01:29:20] Speaker D: Yeah, I like that. I like when they. When they know enough to do that.
[01:29:24] Speaker C: You know, subvert expectations.
[01:29:28] Speaker B: Exactly.
[01:29:29] Speaker A: So, yeah, this. This was awesome. Insane. Great.
[01:29:33] Speaker B: Yeah. It was what we all kind of. I think we thought it would be. And it lived up to that in such a great way.
[01:29:39] Speaker A: They delivered.
So following the match, Gabe Kidd hits the ring, tosses Darby around a little bit as the rest of the Death Riders show up. But Darby Bales runs out into the streets of South Philly.
And Gabe, Kid just kind of of screams at nothing.
[01:29:58] Speaker B: Yeah, the door's shot. What could I do?
[01:30:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it's an emergency exit.
[01:30:02] Speaker C: It's not an emergency.
[01:30:04] Speaker B: It was kind of a weird ending because. And then they start playing Darby's music while Mox is standing tall in the ring.
[01:30:13] Speaker D: Yeah, here's the. Here's the thing I want to point out. And I pointed it out on like, Darby had a good match tonight, I'll give you that. But also I'm getting. I'll give a lot of that to Claudia Audio, but this is. I pointed this out on the Internet, but it says a lot to me about Darby Allen, that the most heat I could really see about that finish and like, all of that, like, the most heat that I saw him, like, getting from the crowd was them chanting for Eddie Kingston, thinking that Eddie was gonna come out to save him.
[01:30:50] Speaker B: Back. Yeah.
[01:30:51] Speaker D: It was just like, I don't know.
[01:30:54] Speaker B: Anytime Gabe's there, because Gabe's the one that injured Eddie's leg. So, I mean, that's like, you. We all kind of. You know. And to me, it's like, don't try and predict that. Like, it puts too much pressure on it. If it does end up being a big surprise, it almost r. You know.
[01:31:08] Speaker D: Not ruins pressure on Eddie, which I don't want to do.
[01:31:11] Speaker A: Yeah. You know, I mean, it.
[01:31:13] Speaker D: And also, like, it couldn't happen to a better guy. But it's gotta make Darby Allen feel.
[01:31:19] Speaker B: Like, you know, a lot of wrestling shows, dude, this. Where it's like there's somebody's been leaked that they're debuting or coming in, and the crowd chants for them, and it's like, come on, let's have a little.
[01:31:29] Speaker C: And I mean, how many. How many times over the last decade have we heard a CM Punk chant in a place where it really shouldn't be?
[01:31:36] Speaker A: Well, let's be honest, also, this is Philly. Like.
[01:31:40] Speaker B: Yeah, they're Kingston's.
[01:31:42] Speaker A: Kingston's from New York. But Eddie really kind of made his bones in Philly.
[01:31:47] Speaker B: Yeah, he was the first Jakar grand champ. He was Ben. He's big part of that arena.
[01:31:52] Speaker A: I mean, that was. First time I saw him. Yeah. Was in Chicaro. So he's. Fans want to see him like that. That's really just what I do.
[01:32:00] Speaker B: They want to see him.
I was thinking when they were chanting that, I was like, man, if he comes out, I'm gonna be so happy. Like, I really was excited for the possibility, but he said he's not physically there yet. He's close, but he's not cleared. Which, you know, it's wrestling. Who knows? Because be lying.
[01:32:17] Speaker D: But apparently my. My good, good Juice boy, who. I was sitting here going, y' all are going, Eddie, I'm going, see oc.
[01:32:25] Speaker A: Oc.
[01:32:27] Speaker B: Yeah, we're waiting for him. It's kind of like we were talking about before with, like, those. The next group coming in to take over while Osprey and Swerve and all them are out. Orange Cassidy is a big. He could be a great part of that. He's already been, like, such a cornerstone.
[01:32:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:32:40] Speaker B: And he's cleared, too. Yeah.
Faces.
[01:32:44] Speaker D: Yeah.
[01:32:44] Speaker B: Yeah. No chakara guy. Another 2300.
[01:32:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:32:47] Speaker D: So, like, it could have gone either way there. And, like, we're losing some baby faces, and it would be nice to at least get him back.
[01:32:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
I think they're just trying to Figure out the like. Right. Exact. Right.
Yeah. And I think like we were saying earlier, they don't want to give away too many matches for all out quite yet. And I imagine he's probably going to have a return and a match there, so they're probably just spacing it. I'm sure they'll figure out something for him.
I can't wait to hear where is my Mind hopefully, because I like that more than Jane.
[01:33:17] Speaker D: Yeah, I was gonna say, I think.
[01:33:18] Speaker B: I'll probably go with. With pictures. It's a great theme and I get the wet hot American summer reference and everything, but whereas my mind fits with orange so well. And when you hear those initial, like, notes, it's like, okay, this is perfect.
[01:33:31] Speaker A: So that is the end.
[01:33:32] Speaker B: I thought it was a great show.
[01:33:34] Speaker A: Yeah, that was fantastic. Yeah. Any. Any. Any thoughts?
Anybody? Final thoughts on the show?
[01:33:40] Speaker C: I'm just really excited to continue to see wrestling in the 2300 arena for the next couple weeks.
[01:33:48] Speaker B: Yeah, it's gonna be a fun residency. I love when AEW does residencies.
[01:33:51] Speaker C: I'm highly considering if there's even any more on sale trying to go out for any of the shows, honestly, because, like, it just. It looks like so much fun.
[01:34:01] Speaker A: I'd probably check the secondary market at this point because I think there was only a few left.
[01:34:07] Speaker B: Find a guy in the trench coat outside. Tickets. I got tickets. Anybody need tickets? Yeah, it's Darby Allen scalping.
It cost a lot to go to Everest, man.
I was off work.
[01:34:20] Speaker D: I said sell cigarettes to minors. Yeah, but, yes, you should go. It'll be the night that Piper Willow got kicked off the top of ECW Arena.
[01:34:35] Speaker C: Come back on the podcast. I never thought it would happen to me.
[01:34:41] Speaker A: Yeah. No, Piper, if you go, I'll go away.
[01:34:43] Speaker C: All right.
[01:34:44] Speaker B: I'll.
[01:34:44] Speaker C: I'll look into it.
[01:34:45] Speaker D: No rules says a dog can't dance on top.
[01:34:50] Speaker B: I'll put an iPad on a little, like, segue thing.
[01:34:53] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll bring. We'll each have a little iPad for you to watch live.
[01:34:59] Speaker A: Oh, we. We'll bring the.
We'll bring that picture of Jeff with Excalibur mask and put that on a sign. Yeah, that would be.
[01:35:07] Speaker B: That would be sick. I.
[01:35:09] Speaker A: Why.
All right, well, that.
[01:35:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:35:14] Speaker A: Great episode of Dynamite. Looking forward to the rest of this residency.
[01:35:19] Speaker C: Yeah, we gotta.
[01:35:19] Speaker B: I think we got a lot of things moving in the. Right.
[01:35:22] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:35:23] Speaker D: Everyone out there listening. Just think job so that Ella can keep the studio and I don't have to. We don't want to be recording at Shoney's again.
[01:35:35] Speaker B: But not after what we did to that bathroom.
[01:35:37] Speaker A: That Shoney's is gone, Erica.
[01:35:40] Speaker C: You this episode. But who's driving Ella to the job interview? We should probably figure that out.
[01:35:46] Speaker A: Oh.
[01:35:48] Speaker D: Mox. It's Mox.
[01:35:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:35:50] Speaker A: Okay. All right. That works. Ah, yeah. Makes sense.
[01:35:53] Speaker B: June says the driving cat situation, it always sound good.
[01:35:56] Speaker A: She is a death rider.
[01:35:58] Speaker D: Good luck and my loyalty.
[01:36:02] Speaker B: See the driving.
[01:36:39] Speaker D: Hi, cat.
[01:36:40] Speaker B: Mama's mama's trying to podcast.
