Episode Transcript
[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void.
But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling.
And with that, there was Monday and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages.
On the second day, God got depressed and lo did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday.
On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her.
We know what that means.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: And welcome back to Wednesday night Fake Fights, where we talk all things aew.
This week we are coming to you from stone cold Steve Austin, Texas, with a very stag dynamite. This dynamite was pancakes. There would be a lot of them. There is some cool here that we are going to get into.
We'll get the introductions going to start things off. You know who I am. If you've been listening to this podcast, it's me, your boy, Jeff, the Token Mongoose. And I'm here with two of my favorite people in the world.
Who are you?
[00:01:28] Speaker A: It's Erica Warren here for the. However many at the time in a row. Because I'm usually here.
[00:01:34] Speaker B: I gotta count sometime.
[00:01:36] Speaker C: You're unstoppable. You're undefeated.
[00:01:39] Speaker A: Unless I have work or I'm traveling.
[00:01:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:01:43] Speaker A: Or hungover or super depressed.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: I would say we're probably like 90% of the episodes.
[00:01:51] Speaker C: Yes. You. You built this. This is. This is Jeff Erica Warren's wrestling championship wrestling.
[00:02:04] Speaker B: Groundwork.
[00:02:05] Speaker A: Yeah. But then like we built.
[00:02:07] Speaker B: And Piper is. Piper does all the work now. Like, Piper does not do the fun stuff and just actually like makes this happen and is wonderful and amazing for it.
[00:02:18] Speaker C: Trying to sell you as the Don Callis of the. Of the Wednesday night fake fight group.
[00:02:24] Speaker A: So, yes, we stabbed Ella with a screwdriver. And.
[00:02:28] Speaker B: And I do have a big old dick slit on my forehead.
[00:02:35] Speaker C: Without me, you're nothing.
[00:02:37] Speaker A: I have a really bald and sexy Australian man threatening to kill her.
That's reality for you folks.
[00:02:48] Speaker C: Wild.
[00:02:49] Speaker B: And Ella is missing this week. So we got a guest star.
[00:02:54] Speaker C: Do my own intro.
You saw Hampter Sero.
Come out like.
Yeah, doing the hand waving over the fire. Catching the tip of my tail on fire.
[00:03:11] Speaker B: That is a very fun hand gesture to do. I find find myself doing that around the house quite a bit. I do it at my cats when they're up high. Like, ponder this.
[00:03:24] Speaker C: Ponder this.
Yeah, I'm here pondering the orbs and enjoying AEW Dynamite and.
Which features more than 25 minutes worth of wrestling in a two hour stretch.
[00:03:39] Speaker B: But quite a bit more.
[00:03:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Considerably.
[00:03:43] Speaker B: Are you watching regularly now? Are you doing week to week or just here and there?
[00:03:49] Speaker C: Here and there still.
[00:03:50] Speaker B: Yeah. Because you watch the 90s wrestling.
[00:03:52] Speaker C: I'm still doing the wrestle the 90s because I have a group of folks that I watch it with, which. So that's why I'm more consistent with that.
I listen to the podcast occasionally and like, I try and also pick read the asked and also you probably see.
[00:04:08] Speaker B: What'S happening on social media at least because you're. Yeah, we're all mutuals and we repost this aw all the time anyway.
[00:04:15] Speaker C: I do get to see the beautiful moves. It's so glorious. And then I send them to all to my, like, 1996 friends and I'm just like, look at how beautiful this is.
[00:04:26] Speaker B: Blue sky has a.
A very good clipper community. Like, there's a lot of accounts who, like, are right on posting cool sequences and, like, moments and stuff like that.
Yeah.
Blue sky wrestling is a good thing in general. That's like the best thing about that place, honestly.
[00:04:45] Speaker C: Yeah, I love.
Everybody's been super chill to me there too as well, which is very nice.
[00:04:50] Speaker B: It's. I don't want to go too far into like a. Yeah. A social media diatribe, but it's just. It's a lot less toxic and mean than like wrestling Twitter is. It isn't this scary.
[00:05:03] Speaker A: It's not as scary.
Yeah.
[00:05:06] Speaker B: I mean, there's. It's not perfect, but what is.
[00:05:08] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: You. Yeah. You came in for a very, very good episode. Yeah, we, as I say, we launched right into it with Kenny Omega coming in. Like, they go. It cuts to, like, the crowd chanting Kenny because Rocky Romero has a jobber entrance here. At first I thought they were saying Eddie and I was like, well, they brought Eddie Guerrero back from the deck.
[00:05:31] Speaker C: Could you imagine?
[00:05:33] Speaker B: Yeah, that would draw ratings right away.
[00:05:35] Speaker C: I'm wearing my Eddie Guerrero shirt too.
[00:05:38] Speaker A: Hell yeah.
[00:05:40] Speaker B: It'd be a good use of necromancy, honestly.
[00:05:43] Speaker C: Yeah, I wouldn't even be upset with that.
[00:05:46] Speaker A: I might have some issue with it, depending on the state of decomposition, but.
[00:05:53] Speaker B: There are ethical quandary.
If he came out and did the, like, the shimmy. Viva la raza. Like, his arms fell off. It'd be amazing.
[00:06:03] Speaker A: And his jaw comes off. Yeah, it just goes flying into the crowd.
[00:06:10] Speaker B: Zombie Eddie Guerrero is already.
[00:06:14] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[00:06:17] Speaker A: I've never seen anything more horrifying in my life. Taz.
[00:06:21] Speaker B: Lie, cheat and decompose.
Like, oh, it's A tragedy. Yeah.
[00:06:28] Speaker C: There's nowhere in the rules that says a zombie can't wrestle.
[00:06:33] Speaker A: George Romero Jones over here.
[00:06:38] Speaker B: I got to meet him once. George Romero. He was like a screening thing. Very nice little old man who looks exactly like Stan Lee.
[00:06:47] Speaker C: What if they just all kind of. What if they were just the same person?
[00:06:51] Speaker B: One old guy who just changes like.
[00:06:53] Speaker A: Well, they probably look the same now because they're both dead.
[00:06:57] Speaker C: They're both dead.
[00:07:01] Speaker B: I know. Yeah. They probably reverted to a base level.
Deeply scientific examination.
[00:07:11] Speaker C: Great equalizer.
[00:07:14] Speaker B: We will return if we're all gonna die. Welcome to the comedy wrestling podcast.
[00:07:24] Speaker C: Are you tired of 2026 being absolute dog already?
Welcome to the Light Hearted AW Wrestling.
[00:07:32] Speaker A: Podcast where we're all gonna die, man. There's gonna. There might be new people to the pod this week because of some things we've accomplished.
[00:07:42] Speaker B: We should say that before we. We jump into this episode.
[00:07:45] Speaker A: Let's put it at the end. Put it at the end of the.
[00:07:47] Speaker B: Do at the end. Okay, we'll get to it.
[00:07:49] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:07:49] Speaker B: Let's actually get to the rest. We are 30 seconds into this show.
Zombie Eddie. No, no, it's the. Yeah, that's the. It's the neu. You.
Yeah. We.
The match is Kenny Omega versus Rocky Romero. Rocky as the job entrance. Which I assume is why they cut to everyone just chanting Kenny's name.
Y. I have my money on the Rock. But I was wrong.
He got his ass kicked here.
[00:08:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:20] Speaker A: It did not take long. No.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: Lost $30,000 on sports bets.
[00:08:26] Speaker C: I mean, it was.
It was a little.
[00:08:29] Speaker B: It was a little paid off so.
[00:08:30] Speaker C: Well, a nibble before the promo kicked in where all everybody stepped in and had to say their.
Had to say their piece.
[00:08:38] Speaker B: Yeah. It was morning intro into the segment.
[00:08:43] Speaker C: We did get to see another one. One winged angel, which was.
[00:08:47] Speaker B: Yes, Rocky's great. They make the most of these very few minutes. Like, yeah, the. The V triggers. Kenny hits on Rocky here. Both look and sounded like. Look like they killed him and like him doing the soccer celebration, like, thing for Kenny to hit the V trigger box. Like you're no reason.
[00:09:11] Speaker A: No.
[00:09:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
To celebrate. He was not doing well.
[00:09:19] Speaker C: Like the silliest thing I've ever seen. Even Tony was just like, what is he doing?
Biggest mis.
[00:09:28] Speaker B: But I genuinely love Rocky Romero. He's been like, he does his role well. I mean, he doesn't overstay his welcome and he plays like a good stooge to this.
[00:09:38] Speaker A: Yeah. The only thing I could think of he did that is he really. He needed to hit a taunt to fill a special bar up really quick.
He just hit like the left one instead of up.
Yeah, he did like the big animation ones.
[00:09:58] Speaker B: I do love the little. The slide shimmy. It looks very funny and cool and funny. It gets a good pop every time too.
[00:10:06] Speaker C: Fat fingered it. Yeah, that's been there.
[00:10:12] Speaker B: Yeah. The match ends with Kenny hitting the one winged angel after the V triggers on Rocky. One, two, three.
Good little squash. And Tony Schiavone gets in the ring with some crazy yellow tie and shoes combination.
[00:10:27] Speaker A: It was like high visibility. Tony, Siobhan, they call.
[00:10:32] Speaker C: Yeah, listen, man.
[00:10:39] Speaker A: I don't know.
[00:10:41] Speaker B: I think Taz goes, who's dressing Shivani? Geez.
She's kind of disgusted by it.
[00:10:47] Speaker C: I think he's getting that gym fit in. Like, I don't know. I just.
[00:10:53] Speaker A: Tony Schiavone in a suit and tie at the gym.
[00:10:58] Speaker B: Bumblebee Schiavone.
Yeah. Tony asked Kenny about the title scene and they set up some kind of like, qualifying matches that are gonna come through this episode and the next episode where it's gonna be Kenny is going to go up against whoever wins against Swerve and Andrade in the main event and that person will do like, I think another qualifying match or something. Or either way, it's to get to MJF at Revolution, which they kind of.
[00:11:28] Speaker A: They've kind of set it up. Actually. I like how they've done it because they. Yeah, they've sort of set up a tournament without saying it's a tournament.
[00:11:36] Speaker B: No, exactly. It just like the whole kind of story of this thing with MJF right now is that there is just a very deep field of really big stars who are all going after, like, that'll come through the episode here. Call it a great. Yeah.
[00:11:51] Speaker C: MJF has to like, define a fighting.
[00:11:55] Speaker B: Game character select screen with like the six dudes and the like light going around. Who's going to whoop your ass?
[00:12:02] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:12:03] Speaker B: They're all like viable champions too. Like, they're all people I could. You know, there's some I think are a little more likely to eventually get it off him or even maybe none of them. Like, I see him holding on to a.
Kenny says, aw is where the best wrestle. And he wouldn't be going for the belt if he wasn't at his best. And he will face friend or foe to get it. Which we should say too. Kenny Omega is looking very good this match and the Josh Alexander match. He's looking fit and healthy. He's hitting big. He's not. But he's not like, pushing himself so far that it's like, all right, I gotta worry about your stomach exploding like SpaghettiOs.
[00:12:39] Speaker C: Oh, God.
[00:12:39] Speaker A: I don't think that was ever really a problem.
Despite how much they like to pretend it was a problem. I don't think that was a big problem.
[00:12:46] Speaker B: I don't know what diverticulitis is, even though both my parents have it.
[00:12:52] Speaker A: It's when broccoli has their poops in your intestines, I guess. I don't know.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: It took. It took Brock out. It took Shane McMahon out. Shane O. Mac fell to the diverticulitis.
It's when you have, like. I think it's like you have pockets in your intestines and, like, small bits and stuff gets in there and gets infected.
Like, my parents can't eat stuff with, like, seeds or, like, you know, little bitty things. They can get in there and it just makes you really horrible abdominal pain.
[00:13:25] Speaker A: Sounds hot.
[00:13:27] Speaker B: Kenny's. They had to, like, remove part of his. Like, a few feet of his intestine, they said. So he must add bad.
[00:13:33] Speaker C: Damn.
[00:13:35] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:13:35] Speaker B: That is the medical segment of the show.
[00:13:39] Speaker C: Not to totally swerve back into the. Into the segment, the promo. Because Don Callis comes out. Let's talk about. In his. Talks about how. Of course, bringing the titles home to the Don D. Don Callis family.
[00:13:53] Speaker B: But there's just a nice guy. Don't bring him into this.
[00:13:56] Speaker C: Not Dan.
[00:13:57] Speaker B: Don is like his. His. No, his anti.
His good twin instead of his evil twin. He's just like an account. He has a full head of hair and is an accountant.
[00:14:10] Speaker C: But there's something in his mouth. Is it his teeth?
[00:14:13] Speaker B: Oh, yes, he has. He has dentures. Yeah.
[00:14:17] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:14:17] Speaker B: I wondered.
[00:14:18] Speaker C: And he.
[00:14:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:14:24] Speaker C: Yes. I'm sorry, I was just. What the.
[00:14:26] Speaker B: No, no. Yeah, that's. It was a little bit. Because first Hangman's gonna come on out to the ring and says Kenny looks good and says that he would rather fight besides Kenny than against him. But with the championship at stake, so be it. Says he looked past Joe. Joe took him down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's Kevin. The same promo, going with Hangman for a bit. Now Swerve comes out. Basically, they're just getting this gauntlet of all the challengers out again.
So it says he hasn't been pinned and he didn't lose in the four way, which is a valid point.
I like that. At one point during Swerve's promo, some dude in the crowd audibly yells out, burn his house down.
[00:15:02] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:15:06] Speaker A: I love that.
[00:15:08] Speaker B: Listen, there's one dude, like, right by the mic who all. All night was.
[00:15:12] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he was. Well, I wouldn't say. He was always on. He had no say. And some of it sucked.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: Yes. That's.
[00:15:20] Speaker A: I hate you guys.
[00:15:21] Speaker B: What do you say? That sucked. That's right.
[00:15:23] Speaker A: I think I have it written down. It doesn't matter.
He's a loser.
[00:15:28] Speaker B: No. Yeah, you. You're not funny, dude. You know who.
[00:15:31] Speaker A: What's fan?
The fan who brought a we miss you, Luis Spicoli sign.
[00:15:36] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:36] Speaker A: All right.
[00:15:37] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:15:38] Speaker B: Also, dude dressed as Jesus in the crowd.
[00:15:40] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:15:42] Speaker A: But he had a busted open side, which was.
[00:15:44] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. You take the guy.
[00:15:46] Speaker A: Sure. You take the good and the bad.
[00:15:50] Speaker C: He had a number of signs. Actually. He was very on theme for the. For the entire show.
[00:15:56] Speaker B: We don't know what actual Jesus stands on. Busted open. What a bad idea.
Nobody's perfect.
That's kind of the whole point. We're all born with sin.
[00:16:06] Speaker C: There was also.
Yeah, it's true. That's why Jesus had to die for us.
[00:16:11] Speaker B: Because it busted open.
[00:16:13] Speaker C: Because it busted open.
There was also an RIP Scott hall sign I spotted.
[00:16:18] Speaker B: Oh, very memorial craft.
Yeah.
[00:16:23] Speaker A: Everybody was dead.
[00:16:25] Speaker B: It was a very good crowd, though.
[00:16:27] Speaker C: I mean, well, on theme.
[00:16:29] Speaker B: This is the land of the Von Erichs. Like, God.
[00:16:35] Speaker A: This is such a grim episode already.
[00:16:38] Speaker B: I know.
This is the podcast of the day.
[00:16:45] Speaker A: This is up.
[00:16:50] Speaker C: Always.
[00:16:51] Speaker B: They're very enthusiastic crowd. Texas is always really good for aew, and that's that continued on tonight. They were kept the energy up throughout, and I think it contributed very positive to the show.
[00:17:03] Speaker A: It was nice. I. I don't like this format of segment where it's just like, guy comes out, cuts a promo.
Like, this was kind of long. Like, by the time Don came out, I was like, come on, move it along.
[00:17:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
And also, like, it's a lot easier to take notes on matches than on promo. Like, promos. I'm writing, like, everything they say down. And matches, I'm just kind of like, writing down, like, the big, like, cool. And it kind of like, bridges my.
I'm just like. My thumbs are getting so tired. Please get out to the next match.
[00:17:39] Speaker A: So listen up. Aw, agents. Think of the podcasters when you're coming up with this.
[00:17:46] Speaker B: I just need to find different way to take notes.
That's too inside baseball. Yeah. Swerve. And Don Callis come out. Don K. Talks about how his family runs the show.
And yeah, Ezra saying his teeth fall right the. Out of his mouth and he's on mumbling for the back half of his promo.
[00:18:04] Speaker A: He had a good catch. It was a good catch though.
[00:18:06] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:18:07] Speaker B: Yeah. No, he kept it going. Like I, when it happened, I was like something sound. I didn't realize what it was till Matthew Botchamania posted like a clip of it on Blue Sky. I thought as like something. I don't know if he was chewing gum or something and it got up. But yeah. I didn't know he was missing teeth. I had no idea.
[00:18:24] Speaker C: And then he also. He. A side note, he uses the microphone to block as well, which is very smart.
[00:18:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
He is a professional. Professional.
[00:18:34] Speaker C: True.
[00:18:36] Speaker B: Yeah. Kenny says it's funny how Don should talk about what other people have to worry about and then says Don should worry about himself and chases him down.
Which is a consistently fun gimmick that they do. I never get tired of watching Kenny Omega chase Don. Gal is like a scared rabbit.
[00:18:55] Speaker C: It is pretty good. This is the first time I've seen it, so. But I can.
10 out of 10. I was just like, yeah. Get it.
[00:19:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Whenever. Whenever Katie gets anywhere close to Don, Don just scampers.
[00:19:11] Speaker B: Yakety sacks should be played over it.
[00:19:13] Speaker A: You would not think that man could move that fast. But he can go.
[00:19:17] Speaker C: He's highly motivated, though.
[00:19:20] Speaker B: He like high step runs too. It's so funny. Like run like Elaine does in Seinfeld.
[00:19:28] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:28] Speaker B: They cut to a video package about Tekla and Stat, who are having a women's world title match tonight. That for some reason is not the main event. Even though in my opinion it should have been. That is a criticism I have. I love the meal. That was a great match. But it easily could have been in the middle of the card and given the women the top spot, it still would have been just as good, in my opinion.
[00:19:51] Speaker A: It was a world title match after all.
[00:19:54] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:54] Speaker B: For the feud they've been building for a while.
We'll get into that a little longer. Yeah. Stat says gets mad at Tecla because Tekla did the live long and prosper Star Trek thing at her and says live long and prosper. Yeah. Live short and die.
[00:20:11] Speaker C: I love all of these.
[00:20:14] Speaker B: Is just, it's, it's, it's a tremendous trio of people. I love all three of them together.
[00:20:20] Speaker A: I was a bit concerned about Harley Cameron telling Thea she's going to suffer toxic shock syndrome. I was like serious.
[00:20:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:20:30] Speaker A: And a little bit gross.
[00:20:34] Speaker C: I think it's incredibly rare these days too.
[00:20:37] Speaker B: Toxic. Toxic.
As common as they used to be.
[00:20:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Like I, I'd imagine, like you have to you have to try.
[00:20:46] Speaker B: You have to try.
[00:20:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:20:48] Speaker A: You have to actively try. How can I keep this?
[00:20:50] Speaker B: If any of our listeners have toxic shock syndrome, we apologize.
[00:20:55] Speaker C: Sorry.
[00:20:55] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:20:57] Speaker B: Living room.
[00:20:58] Speaker A: Good. Go.
[00:21:00] Speaker B: Yeah. Willow and Harley also get on the mic and they give the Sisters of Sin a title shot on collision, contingent on the Sisters of Sin not interfering with the world title match, which I thought was.
[00:21:13] Speaker C: They were going to. Sorry.
[00:21:15] Speaker B: Yeah, no, no, I thought it was just. It was a good storyline way to do that, like give them a reason and actually, yeah. Next we go to Jon Moxley vs. Ace Austin in a continental title eliminator match.
[00:21:28] Speaker C: I realize that Jon Moxley is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and so many things make sense now.
[00:21:35] Speaker B: I think Ace Austin's from Ohio too. I want to say he's not from Austin.
No, he's not. Ace Austin, Texas.
[00:21:43] Speaker A: Yeah. I think they spent like commentary spent like 5 minutes talking about this. Like, is he from a. Is he Austin and Austin?
[00:21:49] Speaker B: No, I looked it up and he is from Pennsylvania. I am incorrect. So, yeah, not only Mox has the Ohio.
[00:21:58] Speaker A: Wait, what part of Pennsylvania?
[00:22:00] Speaker B: Writing, Reading.
[00:22:03] Speaker A: It's Redding. Yeah, it's fine. It's fine.
[00:22:09] Speaker B: We haven't given our opinions on random American cities in a while.
[00:22:14] Speaker A: Reading you. I've been there.
[00:22:18] Speaker B: I enjoy Grand Rapids.
[00:22:22] Speaker A: At least it's not Allentown. Allentown, Pennsylvania, you can fall into the earth's mantle.
[00:22:30] Speaker B: They did give us. I believe Ian Ricoboni is from there though. And I love me some Rico.
[00:22:35] Speaker A: Bonobono doesn't have to stay there when it falls under the earth, but like maybe his family can get out anyway. Out of town.
[00:22:43] Speaker B: Real hope.
Yeah. This is a. I thought this was a very fun match as a cool kind of like clash of styles thing with Ace Austin being more the high flyer and Mox being doing his brawling stuff.
[00:22:57] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a neat little match.
It was. Yeah, it was just really funny. A lot of it was just like Ace Austin trying to do like his. His little guy stuff and Moxley just being like, I'm gonna punch you.
If you're gonna flip around, I'm just gonna punch you in the face.
[00:23:17] Speaker B: Just take your head off.
[00:23:19] Speaker C: They. There is a. It was a big chop fest. But I. What I really love, appreciated was like Mox is like, okay.
And Austin turns around and spinning kicks him in the face.
[00:23:34] Speaker B: That was a really good kick too.
[00:23:36] Speaker C: Yeah, incredible.
[00:23:37] Speaker B: Yeah, it took him down, made a great song.
[00:23:41] Speaker C: It just stagger him. I forget. But yeah, it was a great kick.
[00:23:44] Speaker B: No, I think it took him up. But yeah, I Did find the exchange about Taz says something about Ace Austin being from Austin or be. He said, I made the comment that they are in Austin and his name is Austin and nobody cared. Nobody cared in the booth.
[00:23:58] Speaker A: That's right.
[00:24:01] Speaker B: Excalibur then goes. And they've both been to Boston. And Tony Schiavone goes, great comments.
[00:24:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:24:10] Speaker B: I think this is during the commercial break.
[00:24:15] Speaker A: Just having a.
Taz having a meltdown.
[00:24:19] Speaker B: It keeps going because Tony Schiavone. Tony Schiavone comments on Ace Austin's like, asos has crazy muscular thighs. That is like one of his divided features. And Daz goes, you're obsessed with legs. Tony Schweiggles. I'm obsessed with strong legs because I'm trying to get mine strong. If you've noticed.
[00:24:35] Speaker C: At the gym.
[00:24:37] Speaker A: Yeah, at the gym. That's what the.
[00:24:39] Speaker B: Yeah, that's why he's wearing them shoes.
Leg presses, you know, he is. Tony Schiavone's, like, would be one of the funniest people for, like, you know, when there's like an old dude in like an anime or something, he takes his shirt off and he's super ripped. Yeah. Like his, like, suit off. And he just looked like bang from one punch, man.
[00:25:00] Speaker A: Like, thank God Lois is a lucky woman.
[00:25:09] Speaker B: Yeah. Max, really. He, like, basically is in control of the first part of this match. Ace gets some, like, little comeback spots, but like I said, box just plucks him off over and over again. But I also. Ace is getting, like. He's getting good reactions. People were really cheering him and getting behind him. For a guy who hasn't been on TV that much, like, he's mostly.
[00:25:29] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:25:29] Speaker A: I think they said this was his. His dynamite debut.
[00:25:33] Speaker B: Was it? Yeah. I can't remember if he'd done like a match or two before, but yeah, he's mostly been. Oh, yeah, he's probably. I think he's been on collision.
[00:25:40] Speaker A: He's on Collision. Mostly.
[00:25:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:25:42] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:42] Speaker B: Collision. Cowboys. Sad. Alone.
Yeah.
[00:25:46] Speaker A: Because he's in the Bang Bang gang. I'm pretty sure.
[00:25:49] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. That's their domain. And they're not all injured.
Yeah. Juice is hurt again.
It's very short term, I think. I can't remember what it was, but.
[00:26:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:26:01] Speaker B: We miss you, Jay White. I do. At least some people don't like you, but I like you.
He's a little beard.
[00:26:09] Speaker A: I had to see him at the top of my dome, so it's fine. He was there.
[00:26:11] Speaker B: Yeah. That's cool. He's on the roster. I saw him when he was Young lion excursion in Ring of Honor. Baby Face White leather jacket.
Jay White. It was adorable.
He wrestled at a casino in my town.
A Cody Rhodes was on the same show.
Yeah.
[00:26:32] Speaker A: It was actually fun match that night.
Yeah.
[00:26:36] Speaker B: I got to see Hangman there. I got to see Nick Jackson. Was there. Good times.
[00:26:40] Speaker A: Good times.
But not ate a stuff.
[00:26:42] Speaker B: No, no. I don't think I've seen him yet.
[00:26:45] Speaker C: He had great energy, and he came out. Ace came out well. Great debut.
[00:26:50] Speaker B: Yeah. Put over in defeat kind of thing.
[00:26:53] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:26:54] Speaker A: He got to show off.
I don't think anybody really thought he was gonna beat Knox or even, like, no 20 minutes with him.
[00:27:01] Speaker B: But I would, like. They keep doing these, what do you call them? Matches where, you know, they're trying to qualify for it. And I just wanted to actually, like, can we get to an actual title match? Like, it's been like four of these eliminator matches now where they haven't made it. Just go the time. You don't even have to beat Mox. But somebody just go the limits so we can get a real title.
That's my thing. They're fine.
[00:27:23] Speaker C: Get to the good stuff.
[00:27:24] Speaker A: They are fun.
[00:27:26] Speaker B: I wanted Shelton Benjamin.
[00:27:28] Speaker A: Yeah, she'll want to be a good matchup for him.
Oh, well.
[00:27:32] Speaker B: Yep.
Yeah. Ace goes for his finisher the fold with Moxley. He catches in a cutter that works really good. Turns into the Death Rider and gets the win.
[00:27:41] Speaker C: I mean, Austin almost got a two count. Or I mean, Austin got a two count before that as well. So, like, he gets his.
He gets his moves in. He gets his near pins, which is nice.
[00:27:53] Speaker A: Yeah. What did he get? He got this.
He got that. That springboard kick out of the corner.
[00:27:59] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:28:00] Speaker A: Really, really nifty evasion. Like, Mox was charging at him, and he. He, like, went in between the ropes in the corner just like. Yeah.
So that, like, he couldn't actually get any of the impact.
That springboard kick.
[00:28:16] Speaker B: Takeshita does come out, and he gets in Moxley's face. Mox. And they just kind of yell at each other. Max says he remembers that Takeshita beat him in the C2. And Takeshita wants the.
And I guess that's probably why they haven't had anybody win these eliminators, because they're setting up Takeshita to be the challenger for the battle.
[00:28:32] Speaker A: Yeah, I think Takesh is actually gonna get that title match because he has a win over the winner. Like, just kind of using New Japan rules.
Like, if you pin the winner of the tournament or you pin a champion of the Tournament. You get. You get a title match down the line.
[00:28:51] Speaker B: Yeah. That's basically like how New Japan makes its title matches from the G1 to Wrestle Kingdom, which is a good idea. It gives like any. You know, there's a reason they lost. They were in a tournament. It's intensive. It still protects the champion and it like sets it up for good stuff. And Takeshita versus Knox is gonna. So that's gonna be an amazing match.
[00:29:10] Speaker A: It's gonna be so good.
[00:29:12] Speaker B: Awesome. Yeah, they'll do that. At Revolution, Takeshita leaves and Doyle and Davis come out and jump Jon Moxley, for some reason, I guess he's been genuine. He's been shooting with Don Cows.
[00:29:23] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:29:27] Speaker B: Which I guess the Takeshita thing too. I mean, it's. When you turn baby face, you go to the Don Callis family because you're much more likely to get cheated. And it works.
And a bunch of cool matches.
[00:29:38] Speaker C: I mean it all. There's also needs to be a reason for long later in this episode. So.
[00:29:44] Speaker B: That's true. Yeah, it does come back around.
[00:29:47] Speaker A: There are only like three factions in the whole company too. It's the Don. You're either Don Callis family Death Rider or your conglomeration.
[00:29:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Or a adjacent civilian warrior.
[00:29:58] Speaker A: Yes.
Kind of like how everybody was in chaos in New Japan.
[00:30:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. And this actually does lead into a Don Chaos member match where we got el clone vs Mark Briscoe for the TNT title.
[00:30:15] Speaker C: Oh, clone is so cool. This is the first time.
[00:30:20] Speaker A: I love this match.
[00:30:22] Speaker B: It was. This was great.
[00:30:23] Speaker C: I love his aesthetic too.
But this was a. An aces match.
[00:30:28] Speaker A: Have you hampter. Have you seen hologram?
[00:30:32] Speaker C: No, Hologram. And I was like, what the is going on?
[00:30:40] Speaker A: He. He killed hologram.
[00:30:41] Speaker B: Tony Khan getting a little.
Tony Khan getting a little Takara with it.
[00:30:46] Speaker A: He hacked it and killed it.
I don't. I don't know what he did.
[00:30:51] Speaker B: The injuries kind of everything up with that story. Because it's really cool and it's fun. And it's Tony Khan's like childhood wrestling story that he wrote and the characters he made up. It's like the two dudes are amazing.
Talking about before El Clone is. Was Ares on the Indies and Lucha scene. And the King of Strange style, who is known for his very, like, trying to think of the right word, like not weird, but, you know, unorthodox, I guess is the way I'd put it. Offense. And it. It really shows out in this match. Like the last couple of Clone matches, he's been a good Luchador and everything. But this is the first time I was like, oh, he's doing some weird.
[00:31:33] Speaker C: Yeah, it was incredible.
[00:31:36] Speaker A: I. My. I think my favorite aesthetic part of El Clone is he does the. The hologram you. But yeah, every time he does it, no matter when he does it, the camera does it too.
[00:31:50] Speaker B: Yeah. And he tilts his head too. He doesn't. He looks like a quizzical dog. It's great.
[00:31:54] Speaker A: I love it. I love it. It's so awesome.
[00:31:59] Speaker B: And this is a very hard hitting match, too. Mark Briscoe is really laying into him with the chops and the big strikes.
[00:32:06] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:32:06] Speaker B: Fight around outside a lot. And like, Clone is just hitting really cool Lucha throughout this. He does this like, step off the rope moonsault thing, like off the top rope. It's one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
[00:32:20] Speaker A: Yeah, the.
He does like, it's like. There's like lots of little things to his offense. Like, there was. There was a spot where Mark was kind of draped over the middle rope and he just kicks the rope.
[00:32:33] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:32:34] Speaker A: To. To, you know, mess up Briscoe's throat. I was like, damn, that's clever.
[00:32:42] Speaker B: He's playing. He's like. He's a heel, but, like, he's doing cool too. And like.
[00:32:45] Speaker A: Yeah, he's so. He's so cool. Like, Like, I. I want to, like, I want to see him wrestle, like, every night. Like, give me that guy. I want to shout out my favorite commentary moment from this match.
El Clone is going over to the corner and Dodd goes. Watch the kick here. And then he chops.
He chops Briscoe.
And Excalibur goes.
He kicked with his hands, Don.
And then Tasman upset with. Some people do that. And you know what?
This is my favorite kind of heel commentator. And like, Ted is nailing it where he's just like, he's the biggest suck up to every heel possible.
[00:33:28] Speaker B: I love that he's. How he's come back is just full on sink of fat, like, glazes. All the bad guys.
[00:33:37] Speaker A: He says he kicked with his hands. Some people do that.
Just agree with it. Just go with it. And I love it so much.
[00:33:47] Speaker C: Yeah, I also had that written down. He kicked with his hands, Dawn.
[00:33:55] Speaker B: Amazing.
[00:33:56] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:33:57] Speaker B: Mark hits a big fisherman bomb and the froggy bow. And then he gets Mark and hits the J driller on him.
[00:34:04] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:34:04] Speaker B: And at first I thought he just no sold it, like, which was kind of weird because it's such a, like, protective finisher. But I kind of watched it back a Few times and he like pushes his. He like it's more a reversal than it a no sell.
[00:34:18] Speaker A: I mean, either way, it was. It like the crowd went ape when they did that.
[00:34:22] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, it was a crazy spot.
[00:34:25] Speaker A: I. I thought it was a no sell because he pops up and like he adjusts his.
[00:34:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, you're right.
[00:34:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:34:33] Speaker C: It's just.
[00:34:34] Speaker A: It doesn't like it.
[00:34:35] Speaker B: It's been a guaranteed, like, freak count move for so long.
[00:34:41] Speaker C: I didn't even know that. And I had it starred in my. I was like, bounce out from a. From the J inadvertent J Roller. I was like, why?
Like, that's incredible.
[00:34:51] Speaker B: It looks sick too. Like, he looks amazing.
He does that and then he immediately hits a Pele kick and then a moon stop assault and then double stop marks right into the chest.
Like everything you do, it all flows together. It's all very like just well executed stuff.
[00:35:10] Speaker A: Actually, that Pele kick, the thing that was so cool about that was he ducked like Briscoe went for a clothesline and he ducked it kind of like Matrix style. And then like with his back bent, he flipped over and did the kick.
[00:35:23] Speaker B: Like, he's a computer.
[00:35:26] Speaker A: Human beings can't do that.
[00:35:28] Speaker B: He's not a human being. He's a computer virus.
[00:35:31] Speaker A: That's true. You're right.
[00:35:32] Speaker B: The lore is unclear, but engaging the.
[00:35:40] Speaker A: Lure is a clear but gauge.
That's rest for you.
[00:35:44] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:35:48] Speaker B: It's very fluid, but that's like. It really is cool stuff. Let's see. Clone goes for like a kind of like arm capture thing that Marfa escapes. Then Clone goes for the portal bomb, but Briscoe escapes from that and rolls Clone up for the win and the end of his undefeated streak, which is not bad.
[00:36:08] Speaker A: Tough break, El Clone.
[00:36:10] Speaker B: But another match where he really like kind of like the Ace Austin match where he showed out in it.
[00:36:16] Speaker A: I would say he looked like the bigger star out of it.
[00:36:19] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:36:20] Speaker A: Like, I mean, as Austin got Pops, El Cl Got pops.
They were. They were really into him. But I mean, like, also, it's Texas and Texas loves their luchadors.
[00:36:31] Speaker B: Yeah. And also they've been doing with El Clone the same thing they did with Hologram. They're doing the Residency of Collisions in Arland, Texas. So he's had a bunch of matches in. I don't know how far Arlington is from Austin. Texas is the size of a small country, so it could be like an hour or 17 hours away.
[00:36:51] Speaker C: There's no in between.
[00:36:53] Speaker A: I. I don't know. Texas.
[00:36:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:56] Speaker A: I Know I can't go there, so that's fair.
[00:37:01] Speaker C: Yeah, that's all I know.
[00:37:03] Speaker B: They do a luchador's thing.
[00:37:05] Speaker A: They do love luchadors.
[00:37:07] Speaker B: Mark Briscoe gets the mic and says, hell, yeah. He says he's not ducking or dodging and that they will be in Texas on Saturday.
Says that he loves the TNT Open Challenge and he will do it with one stipulation, that it can't be somebody from the Don Callis family because he is tired of them.
[00:37:25] Speaker C: Fair.
[00:37:28] Speaker A: Listen, thank you.
[00:37:29] Speaker B: Good reading. Yeah.
[00:37:32] Speaker C: No chops.
[00:37:35] Speaker B: He says anyone else can challenge besides the Don Callis family? And the lights go out and a heartbeat appears on the Tron and some like, kind of what I'd say is bluesy music. Like, I like the song.
[00:37:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I do, too.
[00:37:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:37:54] Speaker C: My shadow knows my story.
[00:37:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. That's what it was. Yeah.
[00:37:58] Speaker A: You know what I said it reminded me of Jake Lee's.
When his music played, it was like, who the is this?
[00:38:08] Speaker B: It did take me a second until it appeared on the screen. Psycho Killer. Because that's Champa's old, you know, Red Baron from his Ray of Honor.
Yeah.
[00:38:18] Speaker A: The thing that clued me in was when, like. Because, like, when they showed the heart beating, it was red and then it went black.
[00:38:26] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Because he was. He was the black heart.
[00:38:28] Speaker A: Black car. Yeah.
[00:38:30] Speaker B: Yeah. I like Tommaso Ciampa. I. I like saying tomato chomper, Tommy Chops.
Yeah.
I think he looks.
I think he looks like a villain in a superhero movie with his big old gray beard and crazy buff body in that collar.
[00:38:52] Speaker C: Surprising literally no one. I don't know who this person is.
[00:38:55] Speaker B: Yeah, he's been in WWE for pretty much since 2016. Yeah. I was gonna say no.
[00:39:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:39:03] Speaker B: They came in. In the Continental Classic, him and Johnny Gargano back in 2015. So, yeah, that was. But before that, he was a stalwart of the Indies. He was very. He's a big part of Ring of Honor through the early 2010s. Was a regular in pro wrestling. Gorilla, which is one of the companies that award spawned from, came up with the Young Bucks, all those guys. And he's like. He's one of those people that's always just like, man, it sucks he's in wwe because I don't watch WWE and I don't get to watch him. He.
[00:39:31] Speaker A: It's gonna be interesting to see how he does because he is wrestling Mark Brisco on Saturday.
[00:39:37] Speaker B: Yeah. I think it was a perfect first match. They're both very hard Hitting dudes, they both really can go when they want to and yeah, I think they go back too. So I bet Mark's gonna want to. They're gonna do a big on Saturday, right?
[00:39:52] Speaker C: Check out, check him, check him to see if he has any fleas.
Like oh, gotta. Gotta beat that out of you.
[00:40:01] Speaker B: I like the first time Tommaso Ciampa appears on AEW television and he kisses Mark Briscoe.
[00:40:06] Speaker C: Yeah, I was all that we had smooch.
[00:40:12] Speaker A: We had old man kisses. Well I guess they're not that old.
[00:40:16] Speaker C: God gives us what we ask for.
[00:40:19] Speaker A: I guess it's like borderline old man. Middle aged man Yowie.
[00:40:23] Speaker B: Yeah, middle aged if you lived in 90.
I know but this is a good set. Like he comes in and they just go face to face and it's just they aura off for a sec. Champa has a really good bit where he just stares at the belt like. And gets like a maniacal look on his face and looks then moves fact looking Mark Brisco right in the face and it's cool. I'm very happy he's here.
I have to ask though, how much money were they paying Chris Jericho that now that he's gone they've signed like 10 people in one month.
Wow.
[00:40:54] Speaker A: O I don't know.
[00:40:57] Speaker B: Yeah, quite a few.
[00:40:59] Speaker A: The thing that's really nuts is what Champa contract was up on the 21st and they got him in like as fast as possible basically.
Hopefully there's no contract shenanigans like with Andrade, but I think there's.
[00:41:16] Speaker B: So I'm not a big contract knowledge but I think that's more so when you leave a company still with time on the contract they'll do a no compete but if you just finish it out to its like completion and just don't resign. But maybe there's different again. That's my law practice has lapsed.
[00:41:36] Speaker C: You're actively disbarred in 42 states.
[00:41:39] Speaker B: Me actually even saying what I just said make us criminally liable. I am not supposed to talk about that stuff.
[00:41:46] Speaker C: It's a violation of all of your paroles.
[00:41:49] Speaker B: Unfrozen caveman parole.
[00:41:52] Speaker A: Wait, what?
[00:41:58] Speaker C: No, this was Jeff for without a license practicing law with Adelaide.
[00:42:04] Speaker B: I just wanted to wear a big white suit and say y' all lock it.
[00:42:08] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:42:09] Speaker A: I'm just a simple country.
[00:42:11] Speaker B: Country mongoose.
[00:42:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
I don't know.
[00:42:15] Speaker B: I ain't going to no fancy law schools.
[00:42:18] Speaker C: Just rip.
[00:42:18] Speaker A: I don't know about how these hard tracks work.
[00:42:23] Speaker B: I've been chased out of 30 different towns.
[00:42:27] Speaker A: I'm gonna say one more thing about Champa is I. I'm glad he's here. I hope that he does not have the fed stink on him, because I fear he does, as he's one of the prime examples of people who have gone to the Sean Michaels why am I so violent School of wrestling acting.
[00:42:47] Speaker B: That's true. We'll see. I'm willing to give it.
[00:42:50] Speaker A: It'll be nice to see him without Dargano.
[00:42:53] Speaker B: Yeah. No, I said it'll be refreshing. And like I said, I think they'll go. I'm definitely excited. The collision's pretty stacked in general. I think that will be a good capper to it.
[00:43:03] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:43:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:43:05] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:43:05] Speaker B: We go backstage with Renee Paquette and Kyle Fletcher, who was there at the request of one Kazuchika Okada.
Okada lays is hard on the line here. I mean, it is a beautiful moment. We got.
[00:43:19] Speaker A: I think he was on the floor.
[00:43:22] Speaker B: He's the past. He's possibly the greatest man in wrestling. I just. I love. Because he's. Oh, God, so much kills me. He says that at the pay per view, he wasn't thinking when he took the screwdriver and he just wanted to win. He wanted Kyle to win, too, so they could face each other and no matter what, the belt could have stayed in the don calls family, says he didn't want to hurt Kyle and that he's sorry.
And it is played, like kind of completely straight, like.
[00:43:48] Speaker A: Yeah. I think that's what's funny about Okada is when he speaks English, he, like, does not sound sincere ever.
[00:43:56] Speaker B: No, not at all.
[00:43:57] Speaker A: Probably on purpose.
[00:44:02] Speaker B: And Kyle says that it takes a big man to apologize and he accepts. And they shake hands and. Yeah. All is forgiven.
[00:44:10] Speaker A: Seemingly.
[00:44:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
Next we cut to a live action segment with MJF coming out to do a bit of a town hall.
Plaid is back.
[00:44:23] Speaker A: Is back.
[00:44:25] Speaker B: MJF gets in the ring. He grabs the mic and he goes, taz, why are we working in a dump like Austin? It just gets immediate huge booze.
[00:44:35] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:44:36] Speaker B: And that's just kind of like, I don't know. Why are we.
[00:44:39] Speaker A: I don't know.
I'm a heel commentator and I love mjf.
[00:44:51] Speaker C: Puts his MJF shirt on.
[00:44:54] Speaker A: He probably does.
[00:44:56] Speaker C: I wouldn't be surprised.
[00:44:58] Speaker A: I would not be surprised.
[00:44:59] Speaker B: I haven't really looked at, like, MJF merch, but I imagine it as terrible. Like most wrestling shirts are.
[00:45:06] Speaker A: Oh, almost assuredly. Yeah.
[00:45:08] Speaker B: Yeah.
It is like a 99:1 ratio of bad to good wrestling shirts. And AEW has some hate is like, I love this company, but there's stuff I would not be caught dead wearing. Yeah.
[00:45:22] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:45:22] Speaker C: Isn't that part of the allure of wrestling merch anyways?
[00:45:27] Speaker A: No. Yeah.
[00:45:32] Speaker B: To repel and isolate.
[00:45:39] Speaker A: Okay, it's editor piper here. It's 2am I got nowhere else to share this right now. Okay. Okay. It's the old Iko Pro logo that they used to show in old wwf, except it just says isolate.
Huh.
Huh.
That one's free. Ella, do with that what you will. I mean, personally, the best wrestling shirt I wear is the dark chic shirt. And yeah, I can't wear that anywhere.
[00:46:05] Speaker B: My favorite, I've got one that has a stormtrooper on it and it says Jobber underneath.
It's not for like a. It's just a good, good little joke.
Yeah. MJF is being a dick to the crowd. Says camp's talking. So we listen and Brody King's music plays and he comes out and I love MJF Repeatedly tells them to cut Brody's music and they don't do it.
Just keep it going.
Brody gets in the ring. MJF says with his big ass ears, Brody should listen. Calls him as deaf as he is big and stupid.
Brody charges at MJF and asks him if he is going and MJF backs away and asks if he's going to be professional. They bring up the whole thing again. MJF says that Brody has to beat somebody that matters.
I'm really just getting. Working my way up to one line that is coming up here.
I think this same dude who yells earlier, MJF says that Brody is following MJF around like a lost puppy. And dude in the crowd. Mose. Exactly.
[00:47:10] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't like that guy.
[00:47:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Is this a point you have been making to people, sir?
[00:47:15] Speaker A: Like one guy really doesn't like Bro King.
[00:47:19] Speaker B: Yeah, now I. I'm remembering now, going back through this. Yeah, it's not.
Yeah, he's good, you guys. Yeah. MJF says that Brody first followed Malachi Black and he thought it was really spooky the way they turned the lights on and off. Says he then followed Buddy Matthews around and makes fun of Buddy's crippling ankle injury that has had him on the show for like a year.
[00:47:41] Speaker C: Jeez.
[00:47:42] Speaker B: He says maybe he should follow MJF and that he could use a guy like him. He says he has to clean up his look because he has never met a liberal man who looks more like a Nazi.
[00:47:52] Speaker C: God, it's Wild.
[00:47:56] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:47:57] Speaker A: You know what? I'm. I'm gonna. I'm gonna connect some dots here that probably don't actually work, but I'm a. So guy that really hated Brody. Probably really hates Brody because Brody's like, you know, spoken leftist type person.
[00:48:16] Speaker B: Yeah, that's very possible. It is Texas.
[00:48:19] Speaker C: Yeah, that is Texas.
[00:48:22] Speaker B: Brody does laugh pretty hard at that line himself, though. I will say Brody corpsed pretty hard.
[00:48:29] Speaker C: I was like, oh, no. I've seen a lot of liberals that are.
Yeah, it's like, he doesn't even look like a Nazi.
[00:48:35] Speaker B: No, he looks like a hardcore dude. Yeah, there are like, right wing hardcore dudes, but, like, most of them are punk, like, kind of leaning ideology, at least in my experience.
Like people like Brody.
[00:48:47] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:48:48] Speaker A: NY pucks off.
[00:48:50] Speaker B: Yeah. But either way, it gets bop. Gets a big laugh. Brody says that MJF says that Brody needs to be a leader like him and calls Brody a follower. It's kind of the theme of the pro. Now here Brody gets the mic, says he doesn't need to follow anyone around, and that all those people he was talking about were friends.
[00:49:07] Speaker C: Something that never had, which I 100% believe.
[00:49:13] Speaker A: Yeah, it was that line.
What you are describing is friends.
[00:49:22] Speaker C: When you hang out with people and wrestle with them and support them, and.
[00:49:27] Speaker B: It'S not always about using each other.
[00:49:30] Speaker C: Jesus.
[00:49:31] Speaker A: God.
[00:49:32] Speaker C: But it's good.
[00:49:33] Speaker B: Like Brody. Brody isn't the strongest promo, in my opinion. Like, he does well enough, but I think there's usually reason. He's more like an inaction guy. But he's. He's holding his own. Well against MJF here.
[00:49:46] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:49:47] Speaker B: Says that MJF is right about him not beating any credible people. So he talked to old Tony Khan and they decided that him facing MJF would be perfect. Prepare. Prepare him to face mjf.
MJF gives some very good facial expressions throughout this entire.
[00:50:03] Speaker C: Yeah, I didn't agree to this.
[00:50:07] Speaker B: They set up an eliminator match next week on Dynamite, and Brody wins that he will face MJF for the title at Grand Strand Grand Slam Australia, which is in two weeks, I think.
[00:50:21] Speaker C: I hope Brody.
[00:50:22] Speaker A: Yes. It's out on Valentine. Valentine's Day.
Romantic as my voice cracks.
I'm an adult.
[00:50:36] Speaker B: Will you be mine?
It. Yeah. I'm probably almost 40. That still happens to me sometimes on the phone in professional settings.
[00:50:46] Speaker A: I am. I am looking forward to what they come up with next week, and it'll be very funny. If this is the eliminator that the.
[00:50:54] Speaker B: Challenger wins, I think they should I would. I think they need to do it as an actual title match. They've been building Brody and him pretty much since Bandido was the challenger. They were even still building Brody versus mjf.
[00:51:09] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it be a good. I don't think they've wrestled.
And if they actually did it at Grand Slam, that could be it. That's like.
I mean, obviously, like, MJF's going to defend the title on that show no matter what, but. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if they would do that or like a bigger name signals wrestler to do it, but I guess it's. It's gonna be Brody.
[00:51:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Russell. Crocodile Dundee, RIP Paul Hoven. I think you're dead.
I do know Robbie Eagles is angling for like a match with him, and he's an actual good Australian wrestler.
[00:51:50] Speaker A: Yes, he is an actual Australian.
[00:51:54] Speaker B: Not one of those fake ones.
[00:51:56] Speaker A: Yeah.
I thought Paul Hogan wasn't Australian.
[00:52:00] Speaker B: No, he is. Yeah. I'm talking about all the other fake Australians out there. It's an epidemic.
[00:52:06] Speaker C: I.
Wow. I didn't know. Is there like, they're a pamphlet or something or website you can direct me.
[00:52:14] Speaker A: To fake australians.org www.not yeah, it's like.
It's like a geocit.
[00:52:23] Speaker B: There's a subreddit, but it's very problematic.
[00:52:26] Speaker A: There's only. There's only one true Australian and it's.
[00:52:29] Speaker B: Do not go to fake Australians.
[00:52:32] Speaker A: That's Robbie Eagles.
[00:52:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:52:35] Speaker A: If you.
[00:52:35] Speaker B: If you the only two people from.
[00:52:36] Speaker A: Australia, Paul, get Robbie Eagles.
[00:52:42] Speaker B: There aren't a lot. I mean, they've been like. There must have been Australian pro wrestlers at some point. I know there are, but like, Kyle Fletcher. Yeah.
Oh, God.
I was more thinking, like, back like, you know, n. Like, golden age. Like, I was trying to think if there was actually like a big Australian.
[00:53:04] Speaker A: I almost said the Bushwackers, but they were from New Zealand.
[00:53:07] Speaker B: Yeah, they're Kiwis or even into, like, attitude era. Like.
Like, they were. Must have been ones around, but, like, I can't. Oh, Nathan Jones. The, like, Jones.
[00:53:21] Speaker A: Have you seen Fury Road?
[00:53:24] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, he's in.
[00:53:25] Speaker A: Yeah, he's an actor, so he's the. The guy that plays Rictus was in WWF for like, five days before they realized, you're terrible, you're fired.
[00:53:37] Speaker B: He was supposed to have a WrestleMania match where he tagged with the Undertaker against, like, Big show and Albert, but he sucked so much that they took him off the card and just made it a handicap match between Undertaker and Big show and Albert.
[00:53:51] Speaker C: It's very funny.
[00:53:53] Speaker B: And it's like, how much worse could he have made it? That was not good wrestling.
[00:53:59] Speaker A: Man. We are just going through a murderer's row of famous Australians.
[00:54:04] Speaker B: Y. That's about Robbie Eagles.
[00:54:08] Speaker A: Nathan Jones.
[00:54:12] Speaker B: Yeah. Chris Hemsworth. He's Australia. All right, we can't just. We gotta stop.
Hello, new listeners.
[00:54:22] Speaker C: Wednesday night, Australian fake fight. Like, we just find Australians.
[00:54:28] Speaker A: Wednesday night, fake Australians.
[00:54:30] Speaker B: It's gonna be a cult classic with the Australian census. Episode.
[00:54:40] Speaker A: Three.
[00:54:40] Speaker C: People who have never been to Australia.
[00:54:43] Speaker B: And don't barely know nothing about and.
[00:54:46] Speaker C: Know nothing about the continent.
We'll discuss if somebody is a fake Australian or not. Okay, sorry. And we're delaying getting to one of the best matches of the.
[00:54:55] Speaker B: Yeah, we have one more little section here. We have Young Bucks have a video package. Just a short little thing where they're talking about how they got humbled after being rich and they're going back to their roots. They got the Tassels, they got the super kicks and they got super kick parties.
Yeah. Which rules. I love classic young bucks. They are so much fun.
[00:55:17] Speaker A: I like that they specifically mentioned the Tassels. Yes. They're Team Tassels all the way.
[00:55:21] Speaker B: It is a crucial part of their identity.
[00:55:25] Speaker A: The Jacksons listen to us.
[00:55:29] Speaker B: I don't think they're very religious. I don't know if they would.
I could be wrong. I mean, they seem cool enough dudes, but, like, we're not very good people.
[00:55:42] Speaker C: We're fine people. The problem is that we use foul language.
[00:55:47] Speaker B: Yes. That's more what I.
[00:55:49] Speaker A: And they are.
[00:55:50] Speaker B: We're not going to get into. We've already talked about death enough. We're not going to get into relatives morality, like.
[00:55:56] Speaker C: No.
[00:55:58] Speaker A: I mean, Jesus was in attendance at the show.
[00:56:01] Speaker B: That's true. Yeah.
[00:56:03] Speaker C: Just tainting the whole entire thing. It.
[00:56:06] Speaker B: Yeah. It brought an air of religious ferocity over the entire proceedings.
[00:56:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
I don't worship Jesus. I worship Chris Statlander.
[00:56:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:56:19] Speaker A: God. Yes.
[00:56:20] Speaker B: And Tecla. They're amazing.
[00:56:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:56:23] Speaker B: Honestly, they're both really, really great.
Yeah.
[00:56:28] Speaker A: Where is the yes please match for the night?
[00:56:32] Speaker C: Yeah, it's.
[00:56:34] Speaker A: Please kill me bachelor.
[00:56:35] Speaker B: Yeah. We got Christie Elliot or. Vs. Tecla for the women's championship match, which again, I said before, I think should have been the main event because especially after watching how good it was. This absolutely brutal from start to finish.
[00:56:49] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:56:49] Speaker A: Yeah. This is good. I liked it.
They tore the house down.
They're probably gonna do this again at.
[00:56:58] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't think this was the last.
[00:57:00] Speaker A: No, this is not the last, but, like, it's wow.
[00:57:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Give these to a street fight at Revolution, like, rematch or do a ladder match or just like something's really crazy between them.
[00:57:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:57:14] Speaker B: Have they done a women's ladder match in aew?
[00:57:18] Speaker A: No, I think it's been a while since they even done a ladder match at all.
[00:57:22] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a good point. I think there's maybe a tag title. One of the pay per views last year was a ladder match or something like that. They did the one in Ring of Honor where Dante Martin shattered his leg like, a years ago.
Yeah. That was, like, in 2024. Sorry, time.
[00:57:40] Speaker A: Time is, as we say.
[00:57:43] Speaker C: Can we talk about this delayed suplex.
[00:57:46] Speaker B: Oh, on the outside.
[00:57:48] Speaker C: Yeah.
The vertical suplex, which was astounding. And the slingshot. Then afterwards, like, get wrecked.
[00:57:58] Speaker B: They start off just so hot.
[00:58:00] Speaker A: Holy.
[00:58:01] Speaker C: Incredibly hot.
[00:58:02] Speaker A: Core strength, Jades. Yeah, it doesn't really work as well, does it?
[00:58:09] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't think that is because it's the.
[00:58:12] Speaker A: The feminine of Jones is not James.
[00:58:17] Speaker B: Yeah. That's a first name and a last name.
[00:58:19] Speaker A: I'm still gonna go for it. It's Core Strike James. That's what the name of this match was.
[00:58:24] Speaker B: No, it actually, you said it. It sounded right enough times. It was until I went back and thought about it.
[00:58:30] Speaker A: Never think.
[00:58:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:58:33] Speaker C: Always forward, never learning.
[00:58:35] Speaker A: Always.
And twirling, twirling, twirling, always twirly.
[00:58:41] Speaker C: Never, never learning.
[00:58:48] Speaker A: Oh, my God, we're bullshitting. But this match really did roll.
[00:58:52] Speaker B: I know. There's so much here.
Yeah. There does one bit early on, too, where Tekla does her, like, tarantula stretch over the ropes.
[00:59:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:00] Speaker B: And Statlander just powers her up and walks around and Alabama slams her right into the turnbuckle.
[00:59:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:07] Speaker B: As like.
[00:59:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:59:09] Speaker B: Okay. This like, you're not even.
[00:59:12] Speaker A: Like, you're not quite even doing it justice because she had.
[00:59:15] Speaker B: She was.
[00:59:15] Speaker A: Had like, Te's legs were wrapped around her neck.
[00:59:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:20] Speaker B: I don't know if Alabama slams the right word.
[00:59:22] Speaker A: She was, like, draped on her back and then she slingshot.
[00:59:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Water wheel drop, maybe.
Yeah. Either. It looks amazing. Like, it was disgusting. Chris Daylanders is. This is the strongest human being in the world. I don't.
[00:59:37] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:59:38] Speaker B: Get it.
[00:59:38] Speaker A: Yeah.
She is better than Hercules and.
[00:59:45] Speaker B: I think.
[00:59:45] Speaker A: Who's another really strong guy?
[00:59:47] Speaker B: Claudio.
Her and Claudio could tear the world apart if they wanted to. One grabs one side, one grabs the other, and they pulled.
[00:59:55] Speaker A: I would love to see them each.
[00:59:57] Speaker B: That'd be a good way to die.
[01:00:00] Speaker A: Yeah. Do like, the delayed vertical severing of the World. And just. And just see who can hold somebody up longer at a suplex position.
[01:00:08] Speaker B: Yeah. Have like, a little timer going down at the bottom.
[01:00:11] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Tecla's cool as hell, though.
[01:00:14] Speaker B: I have a lot of written down here. Yeah. At one point, I technically, like, flies to the outside and Taz goes, I hope she bites Shivani's face off.
[01:00:22] Speaker C: Yeah, she would. I can see her do it.
[01:00:27] Speaker B: Someone called for just came out of nowhere.
[01:00:33] Speaker A: If they kept mentioning how they. They like bringing up that when Teclo was in Japan, she wrestled in stardom and she was fired for assaulting the president of that company. And they. They were like, teasing Tasman. I was like, ah, she got to live her dream and choked at her promoter.
You know what that's like, don't you, Tazhook.
[01:01:06] Speaker C: Brother?
[01:01:08] Speaker A: I think they're talking about Hayman.
[01:01:11] Speaker B: Yeah, probably. No, they were.
[01:01:12] Speaker A: Yeah, they were definitely talking about Haven. Lots of people want to choke Paul Heyman from ecw.
[01:01:17] Speaker B: Everyone.
[01:01:19] Speaker A: Taz got to do it.
[01:01:20] Speaker B: I'm sure Tony got and Taz get along very well. They probably have a little bit fast again.
[01:01:26] Speaker C: What else was there?
[01:01:27] Speaker A: Yeah, Black Widow Jones. Oh, yeah. It was just a lot of stuff.
[01:01:31] Speaker B: I know. I'm looking through this, like, Teco spits and stats face, which is. Yeah, I think that happened.
[01:01:40] Speaker C: We had that instead of the mandible claw. I think it. Statlander uses both hands to keep Tekla's mouth open. And Tes is like, oh, that's unsanitary. And I was like, you.
[01:01:55] Speaker A: Thank you.
Don't just put your hand in somebody else's mouth.
[01:01:59] Speaker C: You can't just do that. Anyways.
[01:02:04] Speaker B: What'S. Why I like to hear. Yeah, it came up. Was going for the spider flip spear thing. And stat just takes her out of the air with a super kick.
[01:02:12] Speaker C: Oh, God, yeah.
[01:02:13] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah. Tucker got that flying octopus hole.
[01:02:17] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[01:02:18] Speaker A: And she just wrenches on the arm to, like, take her down. Like, that was.
[01:02:22] Speaker B: God, yeah. Another really good spot where she got sat up on the top rope. She climbs up on the top rope and she drops down into a seated position where Taz goes. A male competitor couldn't do that drop, but I digress.
[01:02:38] Speaker A: And then.
[01:02:41] Speaker B: Tackle that. It's the spider German, which always looks cool. And then a huge crossbody to the outside. And it was such a good sequence. It looked amazing. And Taz is such a weird dude.
[01:02:53] Speaker A: Taz is just, you know, he's there to call the stop stuff and, like, get all technical about it. It's like, yep, Vagina bones. Can't do that without vagina bones.
[01:03:07] Speaker C: You know what's women. You know what's great?
Internal genitalia like.
[01:03:14] Speaker A: Thanks.
[01:03:20] Speaker C: Listen, honestly, if this is the worst out of the commentary table, it is a breath of fresh air.
[01:03:28] Speaker A: Yeah. It's like actually acknowledging how this like, like, yeah, they were stable. Like Toni Storm stapled sky blue in the vagina like several months ago.
You just call the vaginas.
[01:03:48] Speaker B: Back to the commentary station. Like I love it when. I love Danielson, Excalibur and Shivani together, but they aren't nearly as funny as when Taz is on there saying some like off the cuff.
Yes.
[01:04:01] Speaker A: Has it. Taz is.
Taz is an experience.
[01:04:07] Speaker B: He's a corporal integral part of the product to me.
Yes.
[01:04:12] Speaker C: Yeah. Truly.
[01:04:13] Speaker A: I agree.
[01:04:15] Speaker B: Yeah. We roll on to the finish though. Statlander hits a gut wrench power bomb. A very similar to the Babe with the power bomb move that Willow uses and then hits the Saturday Night Fever for the win.
But yeah, this we said throughout this match was really, really good. These two, like, it was just such a consistent start to finish cool after cool after cool.
[01:04:39] Speaker A: Yeah, the best.
[01:04:41] Speaker C: Well fought. Absolutely well fought.
[01:04:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Like I said, I do think I wish I. I wanted Tekla to win, but if they're going to do it down the line, maybe have her winner at pay per view. I'm all right with like, I love Chris Dallander, but I think Tampa is just on fire right now and it's a good strike while the iron is hot kind of thing.
[01:05:01] Speaker A: I think you gotta put the belt on her. I thought of all the title matches, this is the one that was like the most likely to see a title change.
[01:05:10] Speaker B: I thought that or El Clone versus Briscoe if they. You know, until the Champa thing, I thought winning that and keeping it straight. But that's like kind of the overarching theme of this show for me and like we'll get into it later too. Is like they didn't really take any crazy booking chances throughout this. Like the whole. It was a great show throughout in ring, like good stuff. But yeah, there's everything was kind of the safe choices. I felt fair enough.
Yeah.
[01:05:39] Speaker C: And I can't argue that.
[01:05:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Not. Not condemning it or anything.
[01:05:44] Speaker C: Sure.
[01:05:45] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:05:46] Speaker B: The Babes wrath come out to celebrate. Yeah, you dynamite.
That's why I watch every show that you put on for the last three years. You aew buy every pay per view, talk about you on social media all the time, criticize you at all.
I try. I think it's Good to not be biased.
Penelope Ford and Megan Bay come out. That's my diatribe.
Megan Bane is like the just crazy gorgeous giant woman in the world. Like these two.
I mean they're both great.
It's awesome and beautiful and all that too. But like Megan Bane is just astonishing.
[01:06:26] Speaker A: Megan Bane fills the gap of women who can kill me, which is like all I really want in life anymore.
[01:06:37] Speaker B: Yeah, that's not. That's a pretty full gap for me. Only any of them could take me out.
[01:06:43] Speaker A: You could kill me, but then there's just like, you know, kill me.
[01:06:48] Speaker B: No.
Yes, I understand.
She's astonishing presence though. Like I said. I saw her at a GCW show and I was like, okay, that's. You're just very, very cool looking in person too. Like yeah, I'm cool with Babes are ath. But I'm glad the babes are after keeping the tag title going. Like there seems to be, you know, there's only a few teams. They still got matches coming around with it.
[01:07:12] Speaker A: They got challenges lined up for days or I guess for two days at least for two.
[01:07:20] Speaker B: Or a collision.
[01:07:22] Speaker A: They got a collision and then I.
[01:07:24] Speaker C: Just like seeing the babes of wrath in the, in the. In the ring. So anyway, any, any, any match is good match.
[01:07:31] Speaker B: Oh yeah, no, I don't get. I was just happy to see them all wrestle and like women's tag bouts are very fun. I just. It'd be nice for them to maybe bring in some like outside people or just do something to get a little more depth going with the roster. And it also be nice if they could have more than one women's match per show.
[01:07:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, let's have two.
[01:07:49] Speaker B: Kind of. My only criticism of. Of stat is like her story and is tied into Willow and Harley's. Like they're this trio now where like all the championships are there and it just kind of feels like they're just getting one story throughout.
Like I guess Tony and Marina's kind of happening too. But like.
[01:08:10] Speaker A: Very easily. Yeah, like do two matches.
Yeah, you could have dropped like. Yeah, like you could have like a. Not like just two other women on the roster and then they could have a match.
[01:08:24] Speaker B: Could have dropped Kenny Verse roster. You could have dropped Kenny Vers Rocky and shorten that intro segment and given like the women a little 10 minute match or something at the start.
[01:08:34] Speaker C: Yeah, why not?
[01:08:36] Speaker A: Why not?
[01:08:36] Speaker B: I know.
Revolutionary thinking American pro pro wrestling.
[01:08:43] Speaker C: We gotta listen to Don Callis talking about his belts of family.
[01:08:50] Speaker B: Yeah, we do. Hop backstage to Don takeshita and Kylo.
Kyle O. Fletcher. Kyle Fletcher.
[01:08:59] Speaker C: Kylo.
[01:09:00] Speaker B: I'm always thinking about you, Kyle O'Reilly, even when you're not around.
Yeah. Never far from my mind, baby girl.
Miss those eyes.
Yeah. Don says they've been recruiting, but now it is time to consolidate power to bring it back and to take their wins.
Don says that Takeshita needs to follow Kyle.
Keep almost saying Kylo Fletcher. I'm sorry. Kyle Fletcher's lead and forgive Okada seeding, sowing some seeds of dissent. He also says that Kyle Fletcher needs to come back to the TNT bell that he is synonymous with it. Says he is going to have a martini and watch Doyle and Davis squash ftr.
Takeshita gets over in Kyle's face and accusatorily says, you forgave Okada. And walks away all pissed off.
Yeah, I love this love triangle.
[01:09:53] Speaker A: I loved it. The best thing I saw though was somebody posted like the end of that promo. He's like, you forgave Okada. And they said it to the Family Matters.
Sad music.
[01:10:06] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
That's amazing.
It was a nice little.
[01:10:18] Speaker A: Commercial.
[01:10:20] Speaker B: I can picture it in my head. Yeah.
The interlude.
Because there's the drop, there's the light hearted outs when it was on a joke. And then there's the drama outs when it was hitting like a store. Like. Yeah, like this is.
[01:10:32] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[01:10:33] Speaker B: Like when Carlton did drugs or that was a different show, but those kind of episodes.
[01:10:38] Speaker A: I don't remember the name of the son on Family Matters.
[01:10:41] Speaker B: Join us for our Family Matters retrospective.
I haven't watched Eddie was the. Eddie was the one.
[01:10:49] Speaker A: Yeah. There was like, there is one where.
[01:10:50] Speaker B: And his buddy Waldo. Geraldo. Faldo.
Geraldo. Faldo for life.
[01:10:57] Speaker C: I remember watching Family Matters, but I can't. I know there is Laura and Steve, obviously, but I cannot remember for any of the. Because any of the.
[01:11:06] Speaker B: He was a fool for not going for Myrtle.
That's all I'll say.
Yeah. Join us for our Family Matters retrospective. Watch along we're gonna do at some point.
[01:11:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:11:19] Speaker B: Start to finish marathon Wednesday night.
[01:11:22] Speaker A: Fake family.
[01:11:25] Speaker B: Oh, that would be a. That's a good spin off idea.
All right. Put that one in the hat.
[01:11:33] Speaker C: Speaking of family.
[01:11:35] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[01:11:36] Speaker B: We gotta get in.
[01:11:39] Speaker C: Loves of my life.
They hurt. Luchasaurus.
What?
[01:11:45] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
He got legit hurt again. His shoulder is up in real life, so they had to write him off.
I cannot catch a break when it comes to injuries.
[01:12:00] Speaker A: Yeah. It's always the same guys.
[01:12:03] Speaker B: It's led to a good Jack Perry singles run, though. He Got. He's been doing the Continental Classic. He's been feuding with Ricochet, which is where we hop back to this video package.
It's Jack Perry. They do a little video package about the rivalry of the demand. Him going after the national championship after winning that qualifier against Bowens.
They go to Rick's Ricochet backstage earlier today, saying that they were supposed to get a word with Jack Perry, but something has happened. They pull away to the Gates of Agony, holding him down.
They just whoop the out of Whittle and Jack here. Yeah, they took Whittle and Jack to the woodshed.
[01:12:45] Speaker C: They did the. The double crucifix thing. They, like, one of the big guy in the vest is just. Literally one hand picks him up. Because Jack Perry is 6 inches tall and like, 10 pounds.
Just walks him over and all.
[01:13:05] Speaker B: Most of that.
[01:13:06] Speaker C: Yeah. Truly.
He's got heavier carry on.
Like, carry on bags.
Also bad for him.
[01:13:18] Speaker B: They bump him around like a bones.
Yeah. I really like how they do this, too. Like. Well, Gates of Agony are beating the out of Jack. Ricochet is following him around with a microphone interview style, asking him what he was thinking, challenging him and betraying him.
Like, he is such a good heel. He does so many little bits that are great.
[01:13:39] Speaker A: I love Ricochet.
[01:13:42] Speaker B: I like. Yeah. He. At the end of the segment, he goes back to you, Shivani. And they cut back to the ring, and Tony Schiavone goes. I'm not taking it back from him. You take an Excalibur.
[01:13:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:13:53] Speaker B: Like, he wouldn't even let a segment be. He hates him so much, you can't even throw a segment to me.
[01:13:59] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[01:14:01] Speaker C: Good for Tony.
[01:14:03] Speaker B: Yeah. That was his boundaries.
Solid back and forth.
But, yeah, that does bring us to Davis and Doyle. Mark Davis and Jacob Doyle versus FTR in a tag team title match.
We got Stokely on commentary, who Taz calls a warrior, and maybe one of you. I. I missed this. Stokely does something, and Tony, like, gets really pissed off and starts calling him bogus. Like, I don't know if he likes.
[01:14:30] Speaker A: Oh, because he was talking. He was plugged in. Hugging is a fake crowdfunding thing.
[01:14:33] Speaker B: Again, the charity. Okay. Yeah.
Tony is very hot about it.
[01:14:38] Speaker C: Yes.
It's. Oh, yes, Right. I love.
[01:14:45] Speaker A: Mutual aid.
[01:14:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
He's an old person. He's been scammed a thousand times.
People call him about computer viruses every other minute, and he's given them.
[01:14:58] Speaker C: Oh, Tony.
I love that. 30 years can pass. And tag team matches, championship matches are still full of shenanigans.
[01:15:13] Speaker B: Like, there's old school clash. Like, these are two throwback teams. They do, like, some classic.
[01:15:22] Speaker A: Davis and Doyle are very like, listen, bro, you don't usually see, like, really athletic big man tag teams like that.
[01:15:32] Speaker B: Not really anymore. Yeah, it's a rare.
[01:15:35] Speaker A: They are very much a throwback, like you said.
[01:15:38] Speaker B: Yeah. It's usually like a big guy and a little guy. It's a Laurel and Hardy situation.
[01:15:44] Speaker C: They're all big guys where I'm from.
[01:15:49] Speaker B: Kyle Fletcher used to be a little guy. He used to be skinny. Isa he was.
[01:15:54] Speaker A: Right now he's on the gas.
[01:15:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Looks great, though. Steroids.
Give it a try. Who knows?
Please don't take legal advice from me.
[01:16:06] Speaker C: Once again.
[01:16:11] Speaker A: That might need a ring bell. I don't know.
[01:16:15] Speaker B: I'm not sure how illegal those things are.
[01:16:18] Speaker A: Tacit endorsement of humans.
[01:16:24] Speaker B: I didn't say you. I said antibiotic steroids. There's. Those are a whole different classifications, I assume.
No.
[01:16:35] Speaker A: Interesting.
[01:16:35] Speaker B: Nobody uses them.
[01:16:37] Speaker A: Nobody has ever used their.
[01:16:40] Speaker B: Never all natty.
Look at Triple H. It's all just rice and chicken breast.
[01:16:46] Speaker A: That man just lifted a weight one day. It looked like that.
Yeah.
[01:16:57] Speaker B: These guys all. They beat the out of each other in this match.
[01:17:00] Speaker C: Yes, they did.
[01:17:02] Speaker B: There are some chops that happen here.
Mark Davis has Dax Harwood's chest literally bleeding from how hard he chops up at one one point.
[01:17:14] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:17:15] Speaker B: Which.
Which I've seen happen a few times before, but not often. And it's crazy. Every single time.
[01:17:22] Speaker C: Oh, my God. Blood. Yeah.
[01:17:24] Speaker A: There was so much blood from that. Like, that was like. It was like, truly splattering everywhere. Yeah.
[01:17:31] Speaker B: Like, is it just bursting the blood vessels in the chest? You're hitting them so hard, like, God damn. I mean, they all sounded great. Like.
[01:17:40] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:17:40] Speaker B: And Mark Davis, he looks. Mark Davis, such a good wrestler and he really shows out throughout this match.
[01:17:48] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:17:48] Speaker C: I super loved Taz poking fun at.
That's totally about the. The tr. Getting railroaded in the beginning because, like, Dax just was not getting a breather.
He was just getting the Pete out of him. He's, like, not looking good. Huh. Huh. Stoke.
[01:18:12] Speaker A: I guess Taz didn't know who to root for because they were both heels.
[01:18:15] Speaker B: No.
Which was kind of interesting for the way the crowd reacted, too, because both. But, like, everybody was just so good. Like, both teams were getting popped. It was almost like, well, can't boo both of them, so let's just cheer all the cool they do anyway.
[01:18:29] Speaker A: Exactly.
[01:18:30] Speaker B: Because FTR are genuinely great wrestlers and like, they are. And I guess you should break some bad News with this that there is a spot where Cash Wheeler hits a DDT on the apron on Jake Doyle after it happens. What? As it happens, Jake Doyle catches his arm on the ropes, and you hear him yell, I just tore my bicep.
And it is confirmed he tore his bicep. He is out for probably four to seven months, which sucks.
[01:19:02] Speaker C: Whoa. I didn't share that.
[01:19:04] Speaker A: Yeah, I didn't hear him say it, but I did see the thing afterwards.
Yeah, that's an injury he's had before, I think, right?
[01:19:12] Speaker B: Yeah, he had his. His arm has been up before, and that's what I think. That's why he said he probably knew immediately. He's like, ah, I. I tore my bicep down. Down this road before.
[01:19:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:19:25] Speaker B: It sucks, though. I feel bad for Mark Davis cannot catch a break. Every single time he gets some momentum going, either he gets hurt or somebody he's working with gets hurt. Like, oh, this. This was what, these guys third match, and this happens.
[01:19:40] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:19:40] Speaker B: But there's nothing we can do. It sucks.
[01:19:43] Speaker A: There's an alternate universe somewhere where Davis never gets hurt. And Aussie Open is, like, one of the top tag teams in the company.
[01:19:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:19:55] Speaker A: And then. But then we don't have, like, the Kyle Fletcher singles run.
[01:19:58] Speaker B: Yeah. And I mean, in the end, it's pro wrestling. Injuries happen, and we adapt and we go around and you know, that we. Obviously, I don't do put my body online, but the people who make wrestling.
[01:20:10] Speaker A: Do that, I don't do anyway.
[01:20:13] Speaker B: Yeah. And I do wonder if they changed the finish of the match here, like, if maybe it was supposed to be Davis and Doyle winning.
But I don't know, because what happens is Moxley comes out and he hits, like, Mark Davis on the outside. Moxley comes out, hits him with the belt, gets him inside. FDR hits the Shatter Machine for the win.
[01:20:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:20:35] Speaker B: Which was set up earlier in the episode. So maybe this was the plan the whole time.
That would be kind of hard to put together on the fly and be like, oh, Doyle's hurt. Mox, get out there with the bell. Ref, tell him we're changing it.
[01:20:51] Speaker A: Like, yeah, I'm pretty sure that was the plan, F. Because my understanding of it was that Doyle just finished the match as best as he could.
[01:21:02] Speaker B: Yeah, well, he doesn't really do anything after that spot. Like, he kind of just go. You see him clutch his arm and he, like, runs to the outside. And then it's kind of just Davis for the last little bit until they hit the. Hit the finisher and beat Him.
Yeah. It's a bummer. It was a great match though. I mean it really.
It ruled.
[01:21:20] Speaker A: I really enjoyed it. But yeah, like after hearing about the injury it was just kind of like.
[01:21:23] Speaker B: Yeah. Sorry to bring the vibe down on that. But just.
[01:21:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Like it does suck like. Like you said.
[01:21:29] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:21:30] Speaker B: Be truth about something.
[01:21:34] Speaker A: A journalist. Yeah. Jake Doyle. Jake something. He's guy who's like had like he just got in the company like what a month ago.
[01:21:40] Speaker B: Yeah. This is like his third match. It's. Yeah. He's third or fourth match.
[01:21:46] Speaker A: It sucks.
[01:21:49] Speaker B: Yeah, he's great. He's awesome. He's. He's exactly what aw needed. Hopefully it'll be more on the four month side and not the seventh month side. Apparently has something to do if he ends up getting surgery or not. That'll change the.
[01:22:00] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:22:00] Speaker B: Time frame on the return. So pulling for him.
[01:22:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:22:03] Speaker B: Some wrestlers are superheroes and come back super quick.
[01:22:06] Speaker A: Get better Jake.
[01:22:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:22:11] Speaker B: From that we go backstage with Renee and Orange Cassidy. Renee asks Orange about Wheeler Yuta and Orange says that Wheeler has changed a lot in five years.
He just kind of rips on the way Wheeler Yuda looks like makes fun of his beard and his hair for a while.
[01:22:29] Speaker C: Yeah. I think he was just looking at him. Walking towards him.
[01:22:36] Speaker B: Looks.
Yeah. Utah does come out and talk some back to Orange. Cassidy kind of does have a voice. Like what are you doing? You just making fun of the way I look now. That's what you do. Like.
Yeah.
Yeah. Marina also comes out and grabs Orange Cassidy's hair and gives it quite the tug.
[01:22:59] Speaker A: He sure did.
[01:23:00] Speaker B: A moment that received quite the reaction on social media.
[01:23:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:23:08] Speaker C: Fire. Fire emoji. Fire emoji.
[01:23:11] Speaker A: Speaking of ladies, you could kill me.
[01:23:14] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:23:15] Speaker B: Marina. Yes.
I we talk about. She's absolutely amazing. Like she is so cool and has so much aura now and is really just doing stuff like that like weird like quasi sexual nature of her stuff too. Just like adds this whole other layer to it.
She is very coolly intimidating.
[01:23:36] Speaker A: Like she'll definitely get better as a wrestler but like as far as presence goes. Oh my God. She's like scarier than John Moxley is at this point.
[01:23:46] Speaker B: I. I don't know. One of my favorite videos. There's her where she's. It was just like a workout video she posted where she's wearing headgear that's connected to a chain to a giant weight and she has a joint in her mouth and she is just chiffing the joint, lifting her head up and down, strengthening her neck while Listening to rap music in a garage like, okay, so sick.
[01:24:12] Speaker C: My idol. What the hell?
[01:24:15] Speaker B: I'll have to say. I'll try to hunt it down. Put it in the chat or something, please.
[01:24:19] Speaker C: Thank you.
[01:24:22] Speaker B: Yeah, Toni Storm gets in there and Marina speaks some Moldovan at Tony and asks if she wants some milk and. Or if she should send her girlfriend some more flowers.
See what I'm saying?
[01:24:37] Speaker A: Well, that's our finisher. Finishes the mother's milk. Do you want some more milk? You want me to choke you out against my bosoms?
Maybe.
[01:24:45] Speaker B: Yeah. Apparently she was the one who sent Marina flowers. Or not Marina sent Mina flowers week or two ago or whatever it was. That was a thing that briefly happened.
[01:24:55] Speaker A: That was her. That was actually her.
[01:24:57] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. She said I. Or unless she was making. Just talking. But she says if you. Do you want some milk or should I send your girlfriend more flowers?
[01:25:06] Speaker C: Yeah, okay.
[01:25:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I should probably watch collision.
[01:25:10] Speaker B: Mind games.
Mind games. Stay in the game.
As old Jim Ross would say, Security separates them. And then Tony and orange do a spin and dance backwards out of frame away from everybody.
It's really good. It's so funny and cute and it's such a great little bit.
[01:25:35] Speaker A: This is a fun little segment.
[01:25:37] Speaker B: Yeah. And Toni Storm still gets. She still gets like the loudest pop in the building. Even on a pre tape show like her just appearing. People still go nuts for.
[01:25:48] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Well, yeah.
[01:25:49] Speaker B: She is an absolute star.
[01:25:51] Speaker A: We love her. We are obligated to stand.
Yeah.
[01:25:55] Speaker B: She's the patron sa of Wednesday night fake fights.
[01:25:59] Speaker C: All hail.
[01:26:00] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Probably if I had to pick one.
[01:26:02] Speaker A: As I say, I mean, queer lady who makes sex jokes.
[01:26:08] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean really, he's most of us. Well, yeah. A lot of old timey references that young people don't care about anymore. Like it is us is the rest.
[01:26:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Like we're talking about family matters and 90s wrestling.
[01:26:24] Speaker C: That's true. Yeah.
[01:26:25] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean she is. She's just like a pop culture machine and like super boy. Yeah. We love Toni Storm and it's good stuff.
We go to our main event which is swerve Strickland versus Andre El Idolo. For that qualifying match to then face Kenny to then do something to apparently get a title match at Revolution. I feel like there's a match in there. I'm missing something.
[01:26:47] Speaker A: They.
Somebody there's gonna. So whoever wins this faces Kenny and then Kenny faces somebody at Grand Slam Australia Slam Monster.
[01:26:57] Speaker B: Okay. They haven't said who.
[01:26:59] Speaker A: Yeah, it's probably gonna be. Yeah, Hangman I don't know.
[01:27:04] Speaker B: Yeah, no, that would make sense. Yeah.
Because they used that earlier. Okay. So, yeah, there's stuff coming up. And no matter what, this match also. Absolutely. This show, the last three matches were just out of this world.
[01:27:18] Speaker C: Good shout out to the middle row. Har Harana, always my favorite.
It was great to see Swerve use it and. And a reverse moonsault, which came afterwards.
[01:27:33] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:27:34] Speaker B: I also. I love the way Andrade looks coming out his entrance with the all white and the white mask, and he just looks like some kind of demon ghost.
[01:27:44] Speaker A: Warrior God who's, like, just smoking hot. Holy God.
[01:27:50] Speaker C: Yes, dude. Well, was it a plant in the audience or. He did he.
[01:27:56] Speaker B: Okay, they did. They did this on Collision last Saturday.
He, like, got a woman's cell phone and took a self. A selfie together, and then he put his number in it this week. Like, some. It gives him a written down of the lady. On Collision was another wrestler. I assume this is either, you know, like, another local talent or something.
[01:28:13] Speaker A: It was the same woman, was it?
[01:28:16] Speaker B: Okay, it was the same woman.
[01:28:18] Speaker A: Sophie Sivan. I think I said that right.
[01:28:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I think you're right. Yeah. Yeah. But it's a fun gimmick. I like that. Andrade's whole gimmick is just, I am no longer married to Charlotte Flair, so I'm going to a lot of people.
[01:28:31] Speaker A: I. I am a. Now, behold.
I mean, as I remove.
[01:28:36] Speaker C: How?
[01:28:37] Speaker B: It's great. It's awesome.
[01:28:41] Speaker A: It's so awesome. He took his gloves off and it got a pop.
[01:28:46] Speaker B: Just literally just stripping throughout the match.
Like, I came over. Was the Collision match or the last Dynamite, where he came out in, like, a full, like, serial. And throughout the match, he just lost bits of clothing until he was in his boxers. I got over. Incredible. Not boxers.
[01:29:03] Speaker A: The pants stayed on this. This show. But.
[01:29:08] Speaker C: How El Idolo got his. Got his groove back, basically.
[01:29:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:29:13] Speaker C: Yeah. Whistling get it, get it, girl.
[01:29:17] Speaker A: Yeah.
Like, my God. My God.
[01:29:23] Speaker B: I mean, we could talk about how hot Andrade is all like, that could be a whole separate episode.
[01:29:28] Speaker A: I have a lot to say. He's hot.
I have something I need to say. Andrade. El Idolo is hot.
[01:29:39] Speaker C: Wow. Bold and brave of you to take a stance.
Thank you.
[01:29:45] Speaker A: You're welcome.
[01:29:45] Speaker C: Someone had to say it.
[01:29:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:29:47] Speaker B: This match rules.
Swerve is really good, too. He is also a hot man who is very talented in the ring.
[01:29:55] Speaker C: I love that he's still wearing his BFF chains.
[01:29:59] Speaker B: Yes. Yeah, we choke people together.
[01:30:02] Speaker A: Like a friendship probably tweaked up now, isn't.
[01:30:07] Speaker B: Kind of. Yeah, it makes sense.
[01:30:08] Speaker A: They exchange chains. That's so sweet.
[01:30:13] Speaker B: Yeah, they do a lot of, like, really cool. Like you said, like, flips and her Corona exchanges, like, they are both incredibly agile.
Say I like, there's a point where Swerve gets up on the top rope while Andrade's down. Andrade looks up at him and hits the tranquilo pose.
[01:30:31] Speaker A: That was so sick.
That was awesome. He's just like, all right. Yeah, come on.
[01:30:38] Speaker B: Yeah, it's I so much cool.
[01:30:40] Speaker A: Like, swerve, bust out of Fosbury flop. God.
[01:30:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, Like I said, Swerve. Still, he put on probably like 30 pounds of muscle or something since he came back, but he still moves incredibly well. He's very agile, he's very quick. And, like, these two bring the best out of each other.
[01:30:59] Speaker C: It's super high intense.
And they. So they. They got onto the guardrail.
[01:31:05] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[01:31:06] Speaker C: But there was.
Was the pile driver did he did wiggle out.
[01:31:13] Speaker B: Well, they set up the pile driver. Andrade gets out. Yeah, he backbot. He back body drops, swerve. But then when he back body drop, swerve. He falls down and he racks himself on the guardrail.
[01:31:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:31:26] Speaker B: Yambag Jones.
[01:31:29] Speaker C: It looked like they both. God, you hurt?
[01:31:32] Speaker B: Yeah, No, I think he legitimately did. Like, I don't think that was supposed to happen. Like, he. I want. When they do the replay, he does. His feet slip out from under him and he breaks the wishbone.
Yeah, I'm sure that thing, like, carrying.
[01:31:48] Speaker A: Her voice take care of that for him.
[01:31:56] Speaker C: Nurse him back to health.
[01:31:58] Speaker A: I liked the line. Taz had his. The only time I've heard a pop like that when somebody removes their pants is Shivani in the announcer's room.
[01:32:10] Speaker B: That was really good.
[01:32:14] Speaker A: Well, you know, I mean, like, it makes sense. Shivani's been doing leg day for all this time, so.
[01:32:18] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, that's canon.
[01:32:20] Speaker A: Now about, like, how what is calves and thighs look like? Just.
[01:32:27] Speaker B: Like I said, super buff. Tony Schiavone is the, like, best idea.
[01:32:31] Speaker A: Like, he's Master Roshi under all that.
[01:32:35] Speaker C: Yeah, it's high viz.
[01:32:39] Speaker B: Yeah. From that. That rack and guardrail spot, they very near count out spot. Make it back in the last second. Andrade hits. One of my favorite things he does it is the fake out, kick back, elbow spot. He thing.
Like, it looks so good. It is such a cool, inventive, like, little strike thing.
[01:32:59] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's.
It's. It's kind of similar to Jericho when he was doing the Judas effect, except that.
[01:33:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:33:08] Speaker A: Andrade does it. He looks like he's killing a guy. Instead of just kind of like bumping somebody and slapping his chest, hit him with bingo wings. The bingo wigs. Oops, sorry. Oops, sorry.
[01:33:22] Speaker B: I have. Looking forward to see you in the Royal Rumble, Chris. Have fun over there. I assume he's Dave.
[01:33:28] Speaker C: That's where he belongs.
[01:33:29] Speaker B: Yeah, it's good. It is probably. Honestly, it's for the past. Let him have a good, like, close out role in WWE where I don't have to see it.
[01:33:37] Speaker A: Yay.
[01:33:37] Speaker B: And then you can get legends back and you can.
Fozzie can play every hall of Fame induction for the next 20 years.
[01:33:47] Speaker A: That seems. That almost seems too cruel.
[01:33:50] Speaker B: I know. Yeah. That kind of sounds like purgatory, actually. So.
Jesus is there.
[01:33:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:33:58] Speaker B: Swerve hits another. Like, he's been hitting these, like, running, jumping house calls and they look so good.
[01:34:05] Speaker A: Like, oh, man.
[01:34:06] Speaker B: He catches Andrade with one and he gets a really near, close, near fall. Like just barely.
[01:34:11] Speaker C: And get out.
[01:34:13] Speaker A: Andrade posted a picture on his Instagram and like, apparently Swerve left like a boot print on his neck.
[01:34:20] Speaker B: It looks like a giant hickey, honestly.
[01:34:23] Speaker A: Yeah, like, it does.
[01:34:25] Speaker B: But no, it is a. It is a black Marco out of his chat. He got walloped.
[01:34:31] Speaker A: It's so cool that.
[01:34:33] Speaker C: That is so cool.
[01:34:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:34:35] Speaker A: If Swerve wants to keep doing like his samurai showdown, drive by house calls like that, he is welcome to do it because that is cool as hell.
That shit's cool as hell.
[01:34:48] Speaker B: They do the, like, you're saying the second rope reverse Rana spot, which looked at me like, Andrade really shows out here. He does so much cool throughout this. It's like a crazy for a Neo to the outside. It's one of the best looking I've ever seen.
[01:35:01] Speaker A: Yep.
[01:35:02] Speaker C: He had straight jacket DDT too.
[01:35:05] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
Yeah. That's good. Yeah. They have made. Andrade is being presented as a star. It all kind of comes together in the end where Andrade, like, Andre distracts. He's like, held up and he like, somehow gets Aubrey to look away from. He like, distracts her somehow probably with his sexy powers, and kicks back under and hits Swerve right in the ambag city again. Lot of that.
[01:35:32] Speaker A: The balls.
[01:35:33] Speaker B: He turns that into the DM and gets the win. Yeah, that. I thought that was a great match. Really cool shot.
[01:35:40] Speaker A: Awesome match. Andrade winning was kind of a surprise. Honestly, it makes me think that they're. They are going to push him as like a main, main event level guy as quickly as possible. Yeah.
[01:35:54] Speaker B: They got to be setting up him versus Kenny at some point, too. Like, I felt like that.
[01:35:58] Speaker A: Well, he's wrestling Kenny next week, I think.
[01:36:01] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:36:01] Speaker A: Yeah, he's right.
[01:36:01] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. No, that's right. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. Sorry. I got mixed up with their.
Yeah, so that'll be cool. He's being presented great.
[01:36:10] Speaker A: Do we. Do we know what his. His finishers.
[01:36:13] Speaker B: The.
[01:36:13] Speaker A: The dm. Do you know what the dm? The DM stands for?
[01:36:17] Speaker B: I. I thought it was, like, direct message.
[01:36:20] Speaker A: Like, yeah, somebody's dm and, like, Charlotte finds it, and it's like, I'm divorcing you.
Yeah.
[01:36:30] Speaker B: In terms of the thematic, his whole gimmick, I think that's what I. My mind went to immediately with it.
[01:36:35] Speaker C: That makes more sense than Dungeon Master.
[01:36:38] Speaker B: Yeah. That would be sick.
[01:36:39] Speaker C: Oh, that would be.
[01:36:40] Speaker B: Yeah. We miss you, Brandon Cutler, the DND pro wrestler before you were the stooge. They do. I wonder if they still. They did, like, a YouTube channel where it was, like, all AW wrestlers doing D and D together back in the day.
[01:36:54] Speaker C: Wow. Fun.
[01:36:55] Speaker B: They should do that again.
[01:36:56] Speaker A: They should.
[01:36:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Don Callis gets in to celebrate with Andrade, and Sword looks rightfully pissed off.
They cut to Renee, who is backstage with mjf. Ask MJF how he feels about his match with Brody next week. JF says Brody isn't gonna beat him.
Kenny comes out and confronts MJF and says he has one more match to win and he will see MJF for the bout.
Goes for the handshake and walks away.
MJF walks away and comes face to face with Andrade in the back, who says he wants to slap him, but first he wants to win the title. MJF continues walking away.
He gets to his car, and Hangman stops him.
This was a journey we were on.
[01:37:42] Speaker C: Said it's a gauntlet.
[01:37:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:37:45] Speaker B: Like we were saying, that's the. That is the story of the title scene right now.
[01:37:49] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:37:51] Speaker A: And actually, if you think about it as a gauntlet. So, like, one thing that MJF was known for in the early days of AEW was, like, if somebody want. If the baby face wanted to fight him, he made them run a gauntlet.
[01:38:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. Now he's got the reversal.
[01:38:08] Speaker A: Now he's got a gauntlet of his own.
[01:38:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:38:11] Speaker C: Good for him. Love that for him. Good.
[01:38:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:38:14] Speaker B: This just makes me really want to play Gauntlet Legends the more we keep saying gauntlet. So that was a fun game.
[01:38:20] Speaker C: Well, we're almost done, so you can.
[01:38:22] Speaker B: Yeah, that's true. Emulator.
[01:38:24] Speaker A: Emulator. Ho.
[01:38:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
MJF gets in his car after Hangman stops him and tells the driver to leave. And they just floor it out of there. That driver did not hesitate. It's like these are pro wrestlers. I'm not messing around. The show closes on Hangman page staring angrily off into the distance distance looking for a pedophile to take a picture with someone.
[01:38:51] Speaker C: We're tying it all back in, bringing it home.
[01:38:55] Speaker B: Sorry.
[01:38:58] Speaker A: The most uplifting.
[01:39:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm sorry. Like don't do that.
[01:39:05] Speaker A: Stop. Stop being friends with that guy. And then little you're right.
[01:39:09] Speaker C: Call it out.
[01:39:12] Speaker B: Just look in the Sophie.
But yeah. Absolutely. Very very good Dynamite. I thought like I said couple of the book even decisions I felt were on the safer side. But I wasn't unhappy watching any of this ever.
[01:39:27] Speaker C: Like all, all the matches were intent, like good in excellent, engaging.
Really showcase what each wrestler could do.
Like the time flew by. I was like oh yeah, no easy.
[01:39:41] Speaker B: I just, I saw a bunch of people on Blue sky said the same. They're like wait, this is almost over. That feeling just started. Like I think, I hope that it was a very like wrestle heavy episode. Like it was all good wrestling. Like before you would have like done.
[01:39:54] Speaker C: That's, that's, that's the how you know when you, when you're like oh damn. You look up and you're like damn. I can't believe that it's been like yeah, it's 9:45.
[01:40:03] Speaker B: God damn.
[01:40:04] Speaker C: Yeah, it's.
[01:40:05] Speaker A: It's interesting because I think back to what like actually a couple months ago, like November, December when we were getting those three hour long dynamites and they dragged.
Yeah, they dragged.
[01:40:21] Speaker B: Two hours is the perfect time for a wrestling TV show.
[01:40:24] Speaker A: It was the perfect time being greedy. Like. Oh yeah, like I just say like the like the last month of episodes have just been fast paced, all action.
[01:40:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:40:34] Speaker A: Really really good stuff.
Even like, like they, they have not let Max just like here's 30 minutes. Go kill time.
[01:40:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Go be offensive for a half hour.
[01:40:47] Speaker C: It. I mean if I think that coincides well with the Continental Classic. I was telling my friend, I was like listen, if you want to get into aew, you should really start with this classic because it's so good. Like everything is just fire.
[01:41:03] Speaker B: It's such a like successful tournament because it really like it refreshes everything and like it almost. It does feel like there's a focusing coming out of it that has been very evident.
[01:41:13] Speaker A: They're really good with that especially there.
[01:41:15] Speaker B: Was no Darby Allen this week.
[01:41:17] Speaker A: Yay.
[01:41:22] Speaker C: Don't. Don't say his name too many times otherwise he's gonna show up.
[01:41:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
Stayed in a mirror three times and he peers behind you.
[01:41:31] Speaker C: He took blades for no reason.
Hit me with a barbed wire baseball bat. I don't know you.
[01:41:38] Speaker B: Yeah, just get on. Yeah, seriously.
[01:41:45] Speaker C: I'm making dinner.
[01:41:47] Speaker B: I like cky, but like, let's get out of here.
[01:41:51] Speaker A: God.
[01:41:52] Speaker B: Yeah. Very fun show.
Any other closing thoughts on it?
[01:41:56] Speaker A: Hampter.
[01:41:57] Speaker C: I love Jack Perry.
Yeah, I loved seeing. I'm excited to see Brody King move forward and I, Yeah, I'm ah, I want to watch currently. But always like, I'll miss it then, but like, yeah, I.
[01:42:21] Speaker B: Was all wrestling while having like any kind of a human life.
[01:42:24] Speaker C: So true.
[01:42:26] Speaker A: It's. It's actually very funny how like the way the time works is like Thursdays and Fridays are just wrestling for me.
[01:42:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, no, it's podcast and record.
[01:42:38] Speaker A: Like, I wake up, I watch wrestling, I take a nap, I wake up, I record podcasts talking about wrestling, and then I go back to sleep.
[01:42:51] Speaker C: The Russell Zone.
[01:42:54] Speaker B: God intended.
[01:42:57] Speaker C: So.
Jeez.
[01:43:00] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:43:00] Speaker A: But you know what? If the shows are this good, I do not mind it.
[01:43:03] Speaker B: No, not at all. This was been very solid like you said there. Overall, things have just been working very well in the company.
Yeah. We did mention briefly earlier, Voices of Wrestling did its top 100 list and we are contributors to it this year. We got a bunch of like little blurbs, comments on stuff. So go to voicesof wrestling.com I think the website is. Check out that list. There's tons of cool people doing it. Open the Voice Gate. People for Dragon Gate, like all kinds.
[01:43:31] Speaker A: They had. They had a huge list of contributors this year. I think they said they had like over 2200.
[01:43:36] Speaker B: 200 people voted. Yeah.
[01:43:38] Speaker C: Oh, excellent.
[01:43:39] Speaker A: I know you and Ella and myself.
[01:43:42] Speaker B: There are three of those 200.
[01:43:44] Speaker A: Yes.
Ella and I. Yeah, I didn't look through. I don't.
[01:43:49] Speaker B: Did you.
[01:43:49] Speaker A: Did you write any blurbs?
[01:43:51] Speaker B: I wrote one blurb. I wrote one. One sentence blurb for one match. Because I did my list way too late at night. I wasn't really realizing what would happen with the blurbs for some reason. I was like, oh, maybe they'll pick like one or two. I didn't realize they're gonna put them all up there.
[01:44:06] Speaker A: I was like, I just.
Yeah. So Ella. Ella and I have.
Yeah, we have some comments sprinkled through in the. The page. I think they should be doing.
The whole list should be up by the time this episode Comes out.
[01:44:20] Speaker B: Yeah, I think. Yeah, this weekend is going to be. The top 10 is going to come out. I think they just put out like 25 to 10 or something like that. Yeah, it's fun list. It's cool stuff. And it's great game to be a part of. Right. Wrestling. Because we love pro wrestling and we.
[01:44:34] Speaker A: Got noticed by Senpais. So.
Yeah, we're gay.
[01:44:40] Speaker C: That's so cool.
[01:44:41] Speaker A: So well designed, sometimes literally.
[01:44:47] Speaker C: Metaphorically.
[01:44:48] Speaker A: We got. We got Kid Bandit versus Zack Saber Jr. In the top 100. So you know what?
We're good. We're awesome.
[01:44:57] Speaker B: Yeah, it's cool. It does feel nice to be like, even, you know, like tons of contributors, but still, like, hey, we got to be a part of something that's fun.
[01:45:06] Speaker A: It was nice to be. It was actually really nice to be noticed. So thank you, voices, guys. If you listen to this and don't hate us and.
[01:45:15] Speaker B: Yeah. And thank you to everyone else who listens to us. We appreciate you. It makes us happy. Like, the idea that anybody wants to listen to us talk about pro wrestling for two hours a week is insane to me. Well, thank you for doing it.
[01:45:28] Speaker C: Good content.
[01:45:30] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:45:32] Speaker A: We talked a lot about dead wrestlers this week. Sorry about that.
[01:45:35] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, this is. This episode has been an emotional roller coaster. Honestly.
[01:45:42] Speaker C: I think it might have. Might be the least problematic one.
[01:45:47] Speaker B: Just the most depressing.
[01:45:48] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, it's. It's sad. It's sobering, but, yeah.
[01:45:53] Speaker A: Sad thinking about how Eddie Guerrero and George Romero and Stanley are all identical and corpse.
[01:46:00] Speaker C: Like, you know, it's equality.
[01:46:04] Speaker A: Except. Well, actually, no, Eddie. Yeah, Eddie. It won't be Eddie, because Eddie, he has been resurrected by, I guess Vector.
[01:46:12] Speaker B: Steal. Eat Brains.
Just don't bring back Benoit.
[01:46:21] Speaker C: There we go. He's in here.
[01:46:31] Speaker A: Beno mentioned.
[01:46:36] Speaker C: I was purposely not saying it and I was like, we made it through without. Without going super dark.
[01:46:43] Speaker A: And at the end, we just had to get that bed while in there. And that's that big old to.
[01:46:49] Speaker B: Yeah. We gotta end it.
[01:46:51] Speaker A: He's just gonna be. Music's gonna be playing over this.
[01:46:54] Speaker B: I got so much more Zombie Benoit material that we do not need to be.
Okay. I think we should call it Happy Wrestling, everyone.
[01:47:05] Speaker A: Thanks for listening. Happy Wrestling.
[01:47:22] Speaker B: Yo soy have to set.
Sarah into oblivion.
Awesome. Have fun with that, Piper.
