Episode Transcript
[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void.
But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling.
And with that, there was Monday, and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages.
On the second day, God got depressed. And lo did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday.
On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her.
We know what that means.
[00:00:56] Speaker B: And welcome back to Wednesday Night Fake Fights. Or should I say, welcome back to Wednesday Night Fake Fights?
Probably the first one where we talk all things aew.
We are here for dynamite Bright night in Edinburgh, Texas. As you kind of tell from my Halloweeny little intro there. It is the time of this episode or this season. The little Halloween episode of the season. I should say with me. Well, I should say who I am first. I am Jeff the Token Mongoose. And with me are my two co. Ghosts. Okay, I'm. That's gonna be the last of the Halloween ones.
[00:01:38] Speaker A: Doing it. Keep doing it.
[00:01:39] Speaker B: I have a lot more lined up, so. Okay, good. I was. I wanted to feel everyone, so just the terrifying mongoose. Let's do that.
[00:01:46] Speaker C: Excellent. I did not think of. Oh, anything spooky.
I got nothing. It's Piper Willow.
[00:01:53] Speaker A: It's Piper.
[00:01:58] Speaker C: Willow. There we go.
[00:02:00] Speaker A: And. And I'm Erica. I'm not a.
I'm Takeshita's wife, Z.
[00:02:11] Speaker B: We have fun.
[00:02:13] Speaker A: Oh, man.
We're canceled. The pod is canceled.
[00:02:21] Speaker C: I think we say that every week at this point.
[00:02:24] Speaker B: Yeah, this time it's justified.
[00:02:26] Speaker A: We censored what happened last week, so it's okay.
[00:02:31] Speaker C: Yes. Yes.
Dolphin noise. Dolphin noise. Dolphin noise.
[00:02:34] Speaker B: Illegally. Anything you say with a Transylvanian accent is non actionable.
[00:02:40] Speaker C: Allegedly. Allegedly. Allegedly.
[00:02:45] Speaker B: Yeah, we're doing the whole Halloweeny thing. They got a very cool little pyro opening with some, like, pumpkins and stuff. The graphic is. Got bats flying out of it, so it's very on brand.
This is AWS always love their Halloween stuff. It's. There's so many, like, great moments throughout.
[00:03:06] Speaker A: I really like the set.
[00:03:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it looks cool.
[00:03:09] Speaker C: Yeah, it looked good.
[00:03:10] Speaker B: I have no idea. I've never heard of Edinburgh, Texas. I mean, it was like a good sized little arena too. I think it was like probably three or four thousand people in there. And it was packed and crowd was awesome throughout. It.
[00:03:23] Speaker A: Wasn't that where they shot that movie?
Yes, Eddington. Yeah.
[00:03:30] Speaker B: Oh, they might have been.
[00:03:33] Speaker A: I don't know. Yeah, the Ari Aster movie. Yeah. It's the same place, I'm sure, right.
[00:03:36] Speaker B: Oh, is it?
[00:03:37] Speaker A: Actually, I have no idea.
[00:03:43] Speaker B: I. I know that's a movie, like, about stuff, like a time period. I remember there's something about, like, Covid movies and stuff where I'm like, yeah, I don't know if I really want to, like, entertainment or lies this quite yet.
I'm sure it's a great film and I like Ari Aster.
[00:04:01] Speaker A: I haven't seen it either. I just. It's like Eddington sounds like wherever they are in Texas.
[00:04:06] Speaker B: Edinburgh.
[00:04:07] Speaker A: Yeah, Edinburgh.
[00:04:09] Speaker B: It did seem like, oh, maybe they wanted to film in Texas. Maybe they did it in Edinburgh. Because it looks like that and they just were like, the name's close enough.
[00:04:17] Speaker A: Maybe.
Maybe.
[00:04:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Sticking with this Halloween theme, we jump right into it with a trick or treat tornado tag match with Orange Cassidy, Darby Allen versus Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia of the Death Riders.
What makes it a trick or treat match? It is happening close to Halloween.
I mean, this. Don't get me wrong, this was a absolutely sick match. Like, it was really cool.
[00:04:47] Speaker A: It was very nice. Darby kind of really missed, dropped the ball. Not coming out as the Yeti.
[00:04:56] Speaker B: But yeah, we didn't get any, like, pumpkin bumps. We didn't get anybody with like candy just thrown on them or anything.
[00:05:04] Speaker C: No, nobody took like a. Nobody took a back bump into a bunch of like candy corn or anything.
[00:05:10] Speaker B: I always love. Yeah. When they use it instead of thumbtacks.
[00:05:12] Speaker A: And dropping the ball this year. Aew, this company is dying.
[00:05:17] Speaker B: That's one thing I will give, like, I don't give WWE a lot of credit, but I always. They always did like Halloween hardcore matches that went way over, deliver like super gimmicky and like, you know, dressing beating each other up with like fake witches and. But like, it was always really just crazy and very fun.
[00:05:37] Speaker C: There's always been a weird marriage between wrestling and Halloween. That's always a lot of fun. Like, you've got your Halloween Havocs from wcw. You've got those matches that like, WWE put on pretty often for like the last number of years.
[00:05:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:05:53] Speaker A: What was last year they had Abaddon versus Hikaru or maybe it was two years ago.
[00:05:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:00] Speaker A: Versus Shida. And then Shida was dressed like Ada Wong from Resident Evil.
[00:06:04] Speaker B: Hell yeah.
[00:06:05] Speaker A: And I marked the out.
[00:06:07] Speaker B: She is like such a cool cosplayer. I always. I have seen so many pictures of her. Like, one of my favorites is her is Zoe Hange from Attack on Titan is just like, absolutely spot on looking I miss Sheena.
[00:06:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Now she's been. Now she's been cosplaying as Yakuza characters, and it rules.
[00:06:26] Speaker B: Oh, hell yeah. Nice. I know she got her. Her, like, visas renewed, and she said she resigned, so I'm hoping she shows up again soon.
Yeah, I just got, like, lots of very cool spots here. I mean, Darby takes a ton of insane bumps throughout this. Takes that big coffin drop off the stands, like, right to start it after they kind of brawl outside.
Yeah, I did love. There's a part where Daniel Garcia throws orange Cassidy into the guardrail, and orange Cassidy jumps over it. And then he does, like, he pantomime sees an airplane, like, flying around. And then Yuta just comes out of nowhere and takes his head off.
Like that little, like, laugh look he does sounds like that. That was a great touch.
[00:07:11] Speaker A: Yeah. The framing of that was great. It was just like, because you to clocks him. And then Garcia just mugs for the camera.
[00:07:17] Speaker B: He's like, I. I really like Garcia in the Death Riders. I know he's back in, like, a faction again, and he's not, like, being the standout, like, singles, but he fits when he's like. He's great at playing the. Like, him and Yuda together are just fantastic heat magnets.
[00:07:37] Speaker C: You'd have a good spot or, like, right at the start, he's digging under the ring to, like, grab a chair or something and just, like, comes out with the middle finger. He's like, all I found was this.
[00:07:49] Speaker A: All I found.
[00:07:54] Speaker B: Yeah. It can't be overstated how great of a heel Yuda is in this too. Like, just absolutely hated week after week after week.
[00:08:03] Speaker A: And, like, I really also think, like, it's letting the Death Riders show a little bit more personality has. Yeah.
Wonders for them.
[00:08:13] Speaker B: A great way to put it.
[00:08:14] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:08:14] Speaker B: Everybody's really. They're not really just like, Moxley's mooks anymore. They're.
They all have their own, like, personalities and, like, motivations where it makes sense why they are part of this group.
[00:08:25] Speaker C: Yeah. And like, those guys, like, falling into kind of a regular tag team, I think is good for both of them as well.
[00:08:32] Speaker B: No, they were great. I was thinking the same thing. Like, I really hope this becomes, like, a regular pairing between them. Like, their chemistry is great.
They really. I mean, this was, you know, very much. It's no DQ match because it's tornado tag. Who do you disqualify? Who wins kind of thing. So we get some table bumps during the commercials. Like, they really went up, went super hard. There's one point where Darby's on, like, the top rope and Yurta comes up and sweeps Darby's legs out from under him, and he just, like, bounces off the turnbuckle, then bounces off the ring apron and lands.
[00:09:02] Speaker A: Yeah, Darby did like a rag doll physics bump off of that. Like, it looked like something Gary's mod.
[00:09:10] Speaker B: Yeah, I was. I literally had to, like, look. I looked up. I was like, is this commercials? Like, this is. Normally it's just rest holes, but I've done like, five big bumps in the last 10 seconds. And they did like, a little recap of it. But I will say too, like, Orange Cassidy is really looking fantastic. Like, that first match or two back, he wasn't bad, but you could tell, like, there's a little rust. He was kind of shaking off and getting back in the field, but, like, by now he feels like inter.
Whatever his championship, he had for the long. It's not the international, was it? Yeah, International champ.
[00:09:43] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
[00:09:44] Speaker B: He's like, his DDTs, his, like, satellite DDTs and flying DDTs are comparable to that era.
[00:09:51] Speaker A: Yeah, he looks like a threat again.
[00:09:54] Speaker C: Yeah, he took that nasty brain buster on the.
On the G barricade. Yeah.
[00:10:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:10:02] Speaker B: He just like thumps him on the top of his head and then dropped.
[00:10:05] Speaker C: Him on his noggin.
[00:10:08] Speaker B: That was crazy.
[00:10:09] Speaker C: Gnarly.
[00:10:10] Speaker B: I did, like, the spot where Darby gets the skateboard out and he, like, kind of is baiting back and forth with Garcia with it, and he goes like. He rolls it over to Garcia. He's like, hit me. And then when Garcia reaches down to grab the skateboard, he runs over and hits the code red on him. I was like, that was a very smart little thing.
[00:10:27] Speaker A: It was clever.
[00:10:28] Speaker C: Yeah, it was clever.
[00:10:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:10:30] Speaker A: A little bit of a setup, but clever.
[00:10:32] Speaker B: Yeah, it kind of. It's a little on the nose thing. Like, you could tell it wasn't. Yeah. Gonna be what it was, but I. I thought the payoff was good.
[00:10:39] Speaker C: A little on the nose is the Darby Allen special.
[00:10:42] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:10:43] Speaker A: Punch me on the nose, break my face.
I'm crazy.
[00:10:53] Speaker B: Darby Lobos Yuta. Orange Cassidy hits the diving ddt and then Darby hits the carrot and drop. Crazy dive from Orange Cassidy that puts Garcia through a table. And Darby taps on the score or locks on the scorpion Death lock on Yuta, who taps out for them.
And Brian Danielson says, oh, he must have learned that tapping out from Moxley, because he didn't learn it from me.
Yeah, he learned quitting.
[00:11:15] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:11:16] Speaker B: Yeah, that rippled. I.
Great opening match.
[00:11:19] Speaker C: I don't like Darby using this scorpion death lock.
[00:11:24] Speaker B: Yeah, I was. It was good for the I quit match, like thematically with Sting coming back, but I don't want that to be a regular thing he does. But it's probably gonna be.
[00:11:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, I don't know how I feel about Darby being the new Sting because.
[00:11:37] Speaker B: Yeah, because he's Darby.
[00:11:40] Speaker A: It always felt like a weird pairing in the first place.
[00:11:44] Speaker B: Yeah. I always just kind of trusted in the process. I was like, ah, Sting says so. Okay, I'll go with it. And it was good. I mean, it's always been a great story, but yeah, it's not who I really would have wanted him to give their help to. But I guess they both have face paint and use a black and white.
[00:12:01] Speaker A: Color motif and they do coffin matches.
[00:12:06] Speaker B: Yeah. Where's Vampiro when you need them?
[00:12:09] Speaker A: Where is Vampiro? All right. Mexico.
Yeah.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: As they probably ruining commentary on.
I don't actually know if people can survive the WWE out or not. He's probably like in the crash or some indies.
We got Hook showing up backstage with some very fancy luggage. He's got some nice bags, like cool, fancy two tones.
And he gives a very mumbly promo out the main event four way match for the number one contendership at Old Gear and how he was going to be going after Joe said he always knew that Joe was a piece of basically and I just didn't care for that too much. I don't know.
[00:12:51] Speaker C: Yeah, it was still.
It was still not a great Hook promo.
[00:12:55] Speaker A: I thought it was more effective than his other ones, but. Because it was short.
[00:13:00] Speaker C: But yeah.
[00:13:02] Speaker A: Yeah, it was all about setting up the main event and the whole thing set up the main event, even his entrance because we got to see the costumed characters.
[00:13:12] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, they did show the inflatable. I thought that was a little later on when they first showed them, but. Yeah.
[00:13:18] Speaker A: No. Yes. Stay Puft was there and I don't know, I guess the other one was like a slab of beef.
[00:13:28] Speaker B: That was like a ghost that just like they just grabbed a random sheet or something. There's a cow and a chicken and there's like a dude who's just like dressed in black kind of. I didn't know what he was supposed to be.
[00:13:40] Speaker A: I don't.
Yeah, Ninja perhaps. I don't know.
[00:13:45] Speaker B: Maybe it almost like the. Like an inflatable looking one, but I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. The Hook thing was fine. I just feel like if I preferred you when you're silent, that's Not a great sign.
I like it better when he didn't talk and just ate channels. And like, in the main event, we'll I, you know, get into him and his, like, reception and role a little bit more. But yeah, we could hop to another backstage segment. We got Renee and Don Callis.
Don talks about how the family is fine and out come the young Bucks. Don basically offers to let the young Bucks join the family.
Talks about, you know, shitty things have been and how, like, they rejected him before, but he thinks he can offer him something. He says, he said has something special for their entrance. And they actually. The Bucks walk by. All the inflatables too.
[00:14:36] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:14:38] Speaker B: And Bucks come out and they get their fancy entrance back. This is section music, fireworks, all that and a special ring introduction a la Don Callis doing his whole stick and, you know, talk about how great they are and everything. And the Bucks look a little befuddled.
[00:14:56] Speaker C: I like how surprised they were.
[00:14:59] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:15:00] Speaker A: They're just like, wow, this nobody screwed with us.
I think the most surprised they were when, like, he took a random shot at Kenny Omega at the end of it.
Huh? Yeah. All right. Okay.
[00:15:14] Speaker B: We were kind of okay with Kenny, but it, if you'll get us on, our entrance is back.
Yeah, I like to even him, like, doing a fancy intro for the Bucks. He still has his face appear in the middle. Like, it's still very much the dying gala show.
[00:15:27] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:15:27] Speaker B: Yeah. That is their. That's their entrance for the Young Bucks versus Jet Speed versus FTR versus Jurassic Express.
Number one contender, Fright Night match for the tag team titles at ball, sponsored by dc.
Yeah, DC is everywhere.
They say there can't be any interference in these matches. So Stokely is on commentary and when he gets over there, they don't have a chair for him, which is very funny.
[00:15:56] Speaker A: That's all right. He barely read his desk anyway.
[00:15:58] Speaker B: I guess he was about the same height as Excalibur. Sitting down.
[00:16:03] Speaker A: He's short.
[00:16:06] Speaker C: Speaking of commentary, I got a kick out of Danielson being all dressed up and having his own mask tonight.
[00:16:13] Speaker B: He was wearing the. He was dressed as Hechicero.
[00:16:16] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
[00:16:18] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. He was wearing a hetchisero mask. They posted some pictures of him doing the, like, alchemist pose that he's such a dork. Yo, yo soy Hatchy Sarah.
[00:16:31] Speaker C: Yes, in this case.
[00:16:33] Speaker B: And I did actually. I really liked just having the two man booth of just Excalibur and Danielson. Like, I. It didn't feel crowded. I mean, obviously I miss Taz and I Love you. And Riccabani and Chobani is great, but, like, just having those two, like, they've got good chemistry together, and they really, like, everything was kind of let debris and just good back and forth.
[00:16:53] Speaker A: They can be a little bit more focused, I think, and they still manage to keep that.
[00:16:59] Speaker B: We had, like, Prime Danielson on commentary tonight, too. He was so. I love when he is just, like, so into everything and, like, having a blast and you can. The energy just comes across from him.
[00:17:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:17:12] Speaker B: Like, to Jurassic Express, music is playing, and you even see the young bucks kind of, like, bobbing to it. Like, nobody can resist that song.
[00:17:20] Speaker A: Jack Perry actually had his knife tonight, so. And in honor of that, I will.
[00:17:24] Speaker B: Be holding my knife. Not only.
He not only had it.
[00:17:29] Speaker A: I will. I will hold my knife about this match.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: A little raptor claw.
[00:17:33] Speaker A: Little raptor claw.
[00:17:34] Speaker B: He not only has the knife, he gives the knife to Brian Danielson, who responds, sweet.
[00:17:40] Speaker A: Which is a terrible idea. I can't think of anybody in wrestling besides, like, I don't know, Nick Gage.
[00:17:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:47] Speaker A: That I would not give a knife to while I was at ringside.
[00:17:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:17:51] Speaker B: Just Dan. It's like giving a knife to a kid.
[00:17:53] Speaker C: I think he said something about needing it because Stoke was there.
[00:17:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
Jack still got the Scapegoat mask. I noticed. I don't know if he's been wearing that the other entrances, but.
Which is kind of odd because.
[00:18:07] Speaker A: Yeah, that's a good thing with the Bucks.
[00:18:12] Speaker C: It's also really funny that he had the mask and he ripped it off and then did a triple H water spit. Like, he's just holding the water in his mouth the whole time is so ridiculous.
[00:18:25] Speaker A: I appreciate that we're finally acknowledging that the mask was ridiculous.
[00:18:32] Speaker B: Like, with the Scapegoat, like, Persona he had for that little bit.
[00:18:36] Speaker A: It makes.
[00:18:37] Speaker B: And it looked great at that, like, new New Japan Chicago show. He came out and got, like, crazy reactions with. But, yeah, it's goofy. It looks like something you buy a party city.
[00:18:47] Speaker A: It got pretty bad after a while, and then it was just like, why am I supposed to take you seriously in that?
Yeah, I didn't. Like, the Scapegoat character was great. Like, I love that whole period.
[00:19:00] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: But that mask. Holy.
[00:19:06] Speaker B: But now with their faces, it's kind of just. It's kind of fun with him and. Or him and luchasaurus.
[00:19:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
It's a. It's another call back, brother.
[00:19:16] Speaker B: And honestly, like, I think. I mean, this match was another, like, massive success for Face Jurassic Express. Free forming. They were great. I mean, this.
This whole match fucking ruled. This might have been my favorite D matches in a while.
[00:19:32] Speaker A: This was. Yeah, I. I don't have really any bad things to say about this match. It was like spot after spot after spot. And they were all awesome.
[00:19:41] Speaker C: Yeah, it was. You've got eight people. Everybody got their. In a lot of shit at that. Like, this was a pretty sizable match.
[00:19:52] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:19:52] Speaker C: Like, time wise and stuff.
[00:19:54] Speaker B: Same. Yeah. Tons of like, I just have spot after spot written down here. Like, one of the big ones that I really got was Kevin Knight up on the. Everyone's on the outside. Kevin Knight gets up on the top rope like he's gonna jump on him. And Dax jumps up, grabs Kevin Knight and superplexes him to the floor.
Everybody.
[00:20:15] Speaker A: What the.
Dude, this is a TV match for Halloween.
[00:20:19] Speaker B: No, exact.
Yeah. When that happened, I was like, okay, we're. This is gonna cook. I understand. It's gonna be one of those matches.
Jumbo Jack gets caught off a dive and glitter just gets tossed into the announced desk.
[00:20:33] Speaker A: Like, holy crap. That was awesome. That was. Yeah, that was like old school FTR type of. Like, see them doing that to like, Johnny Gargano.
[00:20:44] Speaker B: Yeah. Back. Yeah. Some DIY whenever.
And we got like, just crazy hot day. Like, Luchasaurus is one of the best hot tags going. Like when he gets that, he goes insane. Like in cleaning house. Is wildly entertaining.
[00:21:01] Speaker C: Like, oh, boy. Six different people for him to double clothesline. What a treat.
[00:21:07] Speaker B: Yeah. And flip, choke slam and do moonsault hunt.
[00:21:12] Speaker A: I.
[00:21:12] Speaker B: For being as sick as he, like, apparently was.
It's crazy how well, it was always crazy how well he moved for that big a man. Like coming back from almost dying and just going 110 miles an hour.
[00:21:26] Speaker A: And he's had, like, aside from even just that illness, like, he's had piles of injuries and he can still move really well.
[00:21:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:21:35] Speaker A: Like, they don't let big guys wrestle like that for very long because it's such a wear and tear on them. But yeah, good for him.
[00:21:45] Speaker B: I like, there's a spot Jurassic Express has been doing where one of the opponents is on the. Out on the apron and they do. Jack, like, grabs Luchasaurus's hand and they do a run up and he like, assists him up into a rana on the guy on the outside who. And he throws him to the floor and it just looks so clean. Like. Yeah, Jack Perry is an excellent, like, spot wrestler. Like, he is a PWG guy who is great doing, like big poppy moves.
[00:22:15] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. That's a good way to describe him. Because, like, I came away from. I've come away with. Ever since Jack came back, I've come away from a lot of his tag team just thinking, like, Jack came back.
But, like, every. Like, every time I see him in these tag matches, like, he has an exchange with somebody and it's like, okay, I want to see that as a singles match. And like, that's kind. Like, he had that exchange with Mike Bailey early on and just like, all right, I could. I wanna. I wanna see them singles. Let's go. Let's go.
[00:22:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:22:51] Speaker B: It's at 2018 PWG Magic, the spot where Luchasaurus has, like, pinned somebody. And Jack runs up and launches off Luchasaurus's back and catches the Destroyer.
[00:23:03] Speaker C: Like, oh, yeah.
[00:23:05] Speaker A: That was a cool spot.
[00:23:06] Speaker B: That was sick.
[00:23:08] Speaker A: That was so cool. God damn.
[00:23:10] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, everyone's doing cool here. Like, another one Speedball has Jungle Jack on his shoulders out on the apron. And Kevin Knight.
Rob kicks Jack off of Speedball show.
[00:23:22] Speaker C: Like, oh, yeah, this was.
[00:23:24] Speaker B: I know it's been sad, but his jump is just insane to watch. Every time I just. I'm floored by the dude. I did, like, the U.S.
kevin Knight called the BTE trigger the EBT trigger.
[00:23:44] Speaker A: He's not.
[00:23:46] Speaker C: Yeah, right.
[00:23:47] Speaker B: Current events, we're all gonna have to sign up for the Docan callous family to afford groceries.
[00:23:53] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:23:53] Speaker B: Do they offer insurance? Because my premiums are going up.
[00:23:58] Speaker A: You have to sign the oath.
[00:24:01] Speaker B: Your doctor is hetches.
[00:24:03] Speaker A: Your doctor is hetches.
He wants you to eat lead so it will convert it into gold.
[00:24:08] Speaker C: None of this sounds like a bad thing.
[00:24:10] Speaker B: No, I. It really isn't.
I. I've been involved with worse cult. Let's say that I got it.
[00:24:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
Wow.
[00:24:27] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. We have with some just big old spots, like, Luchasaurus hits a moonsault. The outside Speedball hits with his triangle moonsault over the ropes thing he does that always looks insane. And he always hits it absolutely perfect.
Kevin hits the UFO splash on. I think one of the young bucks. But FDR get him up and get him into the Shatter Machine for the win. And it sets up Brodido vs FTR for the tag titles at full gear. Which, out of those options, I actually think probably is the best.
[00:24:57] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:24:57] Speaker C: Because I don't think we've seen that.
[00:25:01] Speaker B: They didn't end that tournament.
[00:25:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:25:04] Speaker B: I think they were on opposite sides of the bracket in that tournament. I could be wrong on that.
[00:25:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:25:08] Speaker B: But it's great because it's like Brodido are so, like, hardcore over as baby faces, right? Now, like, they are so popular and FTR are just like the. Probably the most hated heel tag team go. They get just fire reactions.
[00:25:23] Speaker C: Yeah. As far as, like, heat and reactions, I think, like, it's probably not even close to anybody else.
[00:25:30] Speaker A: And it's. It's about time for FTR to get a pay per view title shot again.
[00:25:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
They've been gone long. Like, there was a period where I was like, okay, let's get FTR out of. They've been doing this for too long. And they did. They moved them on, they turned them heel. They just put them in, like, good story feuds for a while.
They had him kill him, Adam Copeland, and, like, it's.
They're in a great. They're. I don't want them to win the title. I want Brodido to retain. I'm very. I think this will be a very fun, good match and, you know, help sell a pay per view.
[00:26:04] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm all about it.
[00:26:07] Speaker B: Get a little recap from Collision about Hangman's promo against Joe. And they do a little video package just kind of, you know, talking about all their Hangman quotes.
[00:26:18] Speaker C: The Dark Knight.
[00:26:19] Speaker B: Yes, he does.
And which comes back later because the character he quotes is Two Face.
[00:26:27] Speaker C: Oh, wow.
[00:26:29] Speaker B: Yeah. It's foreshadowing, but yeah, I actually, I have to ask you too. My streamer cut out for, like, a few minutes here. So, like, I. When I came back on, it was the Don Callis family summit and they were all in the ring. I assume they, like, they. They showed the painting, I assume. I didn't see that.
[00:26:47] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:26:48] Speaker B: Was there anything else before that?
[00:26:50] Speaker C: Basically, they just kind of. Yeah, they just kind of set up like they walked down, they were like, takeshita can't make it due to travel issues.
[00:27:00] Speaker B: Okay, I miss that.
[00:27:01] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. And then they were like, we're here to unveil this painting and talk about the four questions.
[00:27:07] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:27:08] Speaker A: Because.
[00:27:08] Speaker B: Yeah, when I. When it came back for me, Takeshita was coming out, like, his entrance happened. So he was.
Everybody was. Yeah, everybody was already at their tables with their little name plates, which I thought was a fantastic.
[00:27:19] Speaker A: The name plates killed me dead because they were so cheap.
But they each had one. Oh, God, that was so funny.
[00:27:28] Speaker B: And just seeing Heiro sitting behind, like, a UN table with a shitty little nameplate, Amazing to me.
Yeah. So I think that's, you know, pretty caught up. So, yeah, Takeshita gets in there, he's looking all kinds of pissed off.
Okada comes up and gets into Cash to Space, and Don gets on the Mic and says he named Takesha the alpha, but the whole family is. And there's gonna be button heads and there's gonna be trouble because we're all so great. He says the family will succeed by listening to what Don says. Says there's no once. Yep. And do it with that. Yes.
Says there's no I in team, but there is one in family I don't like. Takeshita is just crazy staring at Okada this whole time. Like, his eyes.
[00:28:16] Speaker A: Yeah. Did not take his eyes off Okada the minute he got in the ring. Like, he got in the ring.
He just, like, looks right at Okada.
Yeah. And he will not take his eyes off. Like, oh, God.
[00:28:33] Speaker B: They'Re.
[00:28:33] Speaker C: They're really drawing this out.
[00:28:36] Speaker B: They are, but it's. I love it. Say Don says Takeshita was the first one in the family, but Don can make him the last one out. And tells Takeshita to shake Okada's hand. Takeshita hesitates.
Don says that it's not about ego, but it's about Takeshita's honor. And tells Takeshita to do it for Don, to do it for him.
[00:28:55] Speaker A: Does.
[00:28:55] Speaker B: He goes for the handshake. Like, be grudgingly not looking happy. But he puts the hand out, and Okada flips him the bird right in his face.
[00:29:05] Speaker A: Takesha's reaction to that was great, too, because, like, he really had, like, the. The Japanese street punk reaction.
[00:29:23] Speaker B: They. They almost. The dying cows family rushes over and immediately separates and, you know, Fletcher gets his husband out of there and Dash. Alexander is also around.
But during this, Okada just has the most amazing, like, evil grin on his day.
Like, I know people about, like, AEW Okada, but, like, he's just such a entertaining character.
[00:29:47] Speaker A: I love him.
[00:29:47] Speaker C: Yeah, he's been a blast. Like, he's just been. And it seems like he's really enjoying this kind of.
This run that he's had in aew. So, like, there's pretty much nothing to be upset by it. Like, it's awesome. And he's enjoying it. Like, I don't know why people are complaining.
[00:30:05] Speaker B: He's a dude who's always been, like, a big ham, I think, and, like, he's an amazing wrestler in New Japan. He got to flex that, but he didn't get to be as, like.
And he did bring, like, some flamboyance and stuff there. But now he gets to be, like, a character. And I think he really, like, bites that apple.
[00:30:22] Speaker A: Like, I. I remember when he did the balloon. Okada.
[00:30:26] Speaker B: Yeah. That's what popped in my head. I was like, kind of some goofy stuff.
[00:30:30] Speaker A: People were pissed. Yeah. And it's like, why is he having good matches anymore? It's like, he is having good matches, but he wants to have. Like, he wants to be a goof for a little while.
[00:30:39] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:30:40] Speaker B: And he was. He was shattered after losing the bat. Like, it was a whole reinvention thing. It was good stuff story, though.
[00:30:45] Speaker A: It was broken. Kazuchka.
[00:30:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
This sets up. They make a. Don says they're gonna work together. And he sets up a tag match for Okada and Takeshita on Collision, which was later revealed online to be against the also conflicted Max Caster and Anthony Bowen of the former league. So. Oh, it's gonna be two tag teams that hate each. The members hate each other, not the tag team. The actual tag team seem ambivalent about each other, but they hate their.
[00:31:17] Speaker C: That's an interesting way.
[00:31:19] Speaker A: That's. Yeah, that's clever. I want to see the payoff now for this.
[00:31:22] Speaker B: It'll be fun. Yeah.
[00:31:23] Speaker A: I've been very not happy about the acclaimed storyline, but now this seems fun, though. Max Cast is gonna pin Okada. That's what's gonna happen.
[00:31:36] Speaker B: If I was genuinely like, no, I was thinking something like that, like, Takeshita gets just pissed off and, like, hits Okada with the raging fire or something and walks out. And Caster, like, steals the pin and gets a unified championship shot, which he should then get his ass kicked out. But it would be amazing.
[00:31:55] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:31:57] Speaker B: They do a little video package for another collision map match. Sorry. It is going to be CMLL's Olympia versus Mercedes Monet. And the only thing I wrote down is Olympia is crazy. Both.
She is super strong lady.
[00:32:11] Speaker C: She looks cool.
[00:32:13] Speaker B: Yeah. She had a match against Ty Valkyrie on Collision, and she. Very good.
I think it'll be fun.
[00:32:19] Speaker A: I think I saw Lucha Blog Cubs fan mentioned that, like, this is only going to be, like, her 10th singles match.
[00:32:27] Speaker B: Yeah. She's.
Yeah.
[00:32:30] Speaker A: So she's already made quite an impression. And she's jacked.
[00:32:35] Speaker B: Great look.
[00:32:35] Speaker A: Keeps. Keeps putting on women who look like they can kill me.
[00:32:39] Speaker C: Yes. I'm a big fan of that.
[00:32:42] Speaker A: Yeah. Keep doing that.
[00:32:44] Speaker B: And I love Mercedes versus Luchadoras. Like, she does great in these CML crossover matches, but probably dope. We go backstage with Renee and Chris Statlander, who, according to the Internet, is dressed like black. Like Goku and his blackout black. Goku black. I have not watched Dragon Ball Z in a very, very long time. So I don't.
[00:33:05] Speaker A: Me neither. But I was like, why is she just, like, Goku. Because I've seen that picture around.
[00:33:11] Speaker B: She. She posted online that her. Her boyfriend got her watching it. She's been going through it for a while now, so she's all in it.
[00:33:19] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:33:20] Speaker B: Yeah. I didn't reckon. I thought she was. I thought she was a Jedi, but I saw on the Internet Renee asked mercy ask about Mercedes. Chris says that she will be a collision to support Mercedes in her title match. But she says they are both there tonight too. If Mercedes has anything to say to her, calling her out.
Next we go to a rematch. It is Kyle O'Reilly versus John Moxley.
Yeah. After the last match where Jon Moxley intentionally knocked the referee out so he didn't have to get. Didn't have to tap out and quit.
We are hopefully getting another definitive ending here.
[00:34:03] Speaker A: Not really.
[00:34:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:04] Speaker A: Or will we?
Maybe. Spoilers.
[00:34:08] Speaker B: Yeah.
It's a sick ass match though. Like Kyle goes right after Moxley and is trying to catch the submissions, trying to like play technical against him. And Max is playing the like bully bruiser type. Very. It's a great dynamic.
[00:34:26] Speaker A: These have this ruled again, like and the way it finished, like, you know they're going to do a third match and I can't wait for that third match. But like this, this kicked ass. Oh my God.
[00:34:37] Speaker C: I like that those guys are able to wrestle each other two weeks in a row. And both matches felt kind of completely different.
[00:34:45] Speaker B: 100%.
[00:34:46] Speaker A: Yeah, it really did.
[00:34:47] Speaker B: It's felt very fresh.
[00:34:49] Speaker A: Like last week Kyle kind of really dominated most of the match and then in this one it felt like Mox had more control.
[00:34:59] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:59] Speaker A: Until like right at the end, Mox.
[00:35:02] Speaker B: Has him caught in that submission and just starts gouging his eyes during it.
[00:35:06] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:07] Speaker A: Oh God. Yeah.
That doesn't look too bad that. Oh God.
[00:35:12] Speaker B: Yeah. It wasn't like wrestling gouging. It was like, you know, where it's just like. Oh, they do like the bulk of it. Like he looked like he was digging his fingers.
[00:35:20] Speaker A: I love the way he did it too because he like warmed up his hand and then just like made a big show of like shoving his thumb right in his eye.
[00:35:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
Max is great at the big stuff like that.
[00:35:32] Speaker A: Like, look at me. I am a psycho.
[00:35:37] Speaker B: Now.
[00:35:38] Speaker C: Watch me do this.
[00:35:39] Speaker B: One thing that really impressed me too. Throughout this was Kyle hit so many like amazing transitions.
He's just like flowing from submission to submission, like just keeping working the entire time. At this point where he's get. He gets into the mount, he starts hitting palm strikes. From the palm strikes, he grabs Mox's arm into the arm bar, then slides back out of the arm bar into the ankle lock. And then while he's got Mox going with that, he stomps on Moxley's Achilles. His Achilles. Achilles. His Achilles. And chilies. The chilies Achilles sounded delicious.
He runs and he hits a knee to the back of Moxley's head. Off the ropes.
[00:36:20] Speaker C: That's.
[00:36:21] Speaker B: God damn. That was just like five. It looks amazing. Brutal.
[00:36:26] Speaker A: I'm just saying. Lion's den match. Come on, come on.
[00:36:31] Speaker B: And Shamrock is the officiator.
[00:36:33] Speaker A: And Shamrock is the officiate. He's still alive, I presume so.
[00:36:38] Speaker B: I believe so.
[00:36:39] Speaker C: Yeah, I believe so.
[00:36:42] Speaker A: 90S wrestler. Are you alive or dead?
[00:36:46] Speaker B: It's a toss up.
[00:36:47] Speaker A: Yeah, it's a fun game we play as wrestling fans.
[00:36:50] Speaker B: I think Steve Blackman's still alive. I think he's a bounty hunter now.
Like a reality show where he was like a bounty hunter.
[00:36:58] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure he was always a bounty hunter.
[00:37:00] Speaker A: All right, so, yeah, that. That's. That's the real. That's the wrestling game show is Dead, alive or bounty hunter.
The three states of being after you retire from being a wrestler.
[00:37:12] Speaker B: Road dog the bounty hunter.
[00:37:14] Speaker A: Road dog the bounty hunter.
Wow.
[00:37:17] Speaker B: Do you smell this? Bale is cooking.
That's the Rock.
[00:37:25] Speaker A: He does like to say that. You got to go with Christ, bra. I'm sure. So.
[00:37:32] Speaker B: Another one like, Mox had Kyle up for the guy, like, goes for the Gotch style pile driver on Kyle. Kyle just snags his arm and turns it into a triangle.
[00:37:42] Speaker A: I have never seen that.
[00:37:43] Speaker B: That.
[00:37:44] Speaker A: Oh, my God.
[00:37:45] Speaker C: That was. That was really cool.
[00:37:47] Speaker B: Jameson's just marking out, like, so hard the whole time. He's like, oh, did you see that? Like, I did and it was amazing.
It was wonderful.
[00:37:56] Speaker A: I don't think Danielson had ever seen that before. He's like, what the.
[00:38:03] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:38:03] Speaker A: I feel like with Danielson out there, there's like a pressure on a lot of people is like, let's do something that he hasn't seen so that he has like a fit.
[00:38:15] Speaker B: It's a good game.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: I can think of worse things that you could try to accomplish in a wrestling match. Let's make Bryan Danielson mark out.
[00:38:23] Speaker C: Yeah, right. Like, we all benefit when they try and do that.
[00:38:26] Speaker B: All this pictured while him wearing the Hetches Arrow mask too. It just makes it, like so much funny. And every once in a while the camera will like, cut to them. And you're used to seeing Excalibur in a mask.
There's just another little masked dude next to him.
[00:38:39] Speaker C: Like, I don't. I don't think I even real, like, took notice of it till probably the next match that I was like, hey, wait a minute.
[00:38:49] Speaker B: The first time they show it is when they're announcing Penelope Ford's injury.
[00:38:54] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:38:56] Speaker B: They're like, they're talking about how, oh, she hurt her arm. She's not gonna be in the tournament. She's gonna be out of blood and guts. If it cuts to Danielson in the Sero mask with his big beard out, solid, like delirious from Ring of Honor out there.
[00:39:10] Speaker A: Oh, my.
[00:39:11] Speaker B: At some point in this, Moxley is bleeding. Like he cuts his. No. Somehow it doesn't look like it was a word. Like, he, like, somehow got busted open by his eye.
[00:39:21] Speaker A: I think Kyle got him with an elbow.
[00:39:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:39:26] Speaker A: Stiff elbows.
[00:39:28] Speaker B: Max isn't trying to bleed. He bleeds.
[00:39:31] Speaker C: That's the Moxley way.
[00:39:34] Speaker B: Another, like, the point where Kyle catches the ankle, goes for the ankle lock. Max gets the rope and gets to the outside, and Kyle hits a plancha to the floor. Like, a plancha onto Moxley and catches an arm bar off the plancha on the floor. Like.
[00:39:49] Speaker A: Yeah, I just.
[00:39:50] Speaker B: I was amazed. Like, Kyler, I. I really. A couple weeks ago, I said, like, oh, he's kind of missed. It feels like he's missed a step from his, like, younger. I'm like, I'm sorry, I was wrong. He's so amazing. Still.
[00:40:02] Speaker C: He's on fire right now.
[00:40:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
Like, he gets a dragon screw on Moxley and, like, uses the dragon screw to throw Moxley into the seated there so he can set up the, like, big drop kick off the apron. He does. Of course, when he gets it there, Marina Shafir runs out and gets in the way and Gail Mox gets. Or Kyle gets down, gets her out of the way, and Kyle catches the guillotine on Moxley on the floor. They struggle and they struggle. And out of the corner, you can see Aubrey counting. And it goes to a double contact.
[00:40:34] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:40:37] Speaker A: Oh, my God. What will they have to do? They haven't been able to get a definitive win over the other.
[00:40:43] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:40:43] Speaker A: Another match, please.
[00:40:46] Speaker B: I would love, like, Moxley versus Kyle in a false count anywhere match at full gear or something like.
[00:40:51] Speaker C: That'd be good.
[00:40:52] Speaker A: Submission match.
[00:40:54] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:40:56] Speaker A: A submission.
[00:40:58] Speaker B: Well, they just did an eye equipment. And the thing with, like, all the Moxley matches of, like, the last few pay per views, they've all been, like, stipulation matches.
[00:41:06] Speaker A: Yeah, that's a fair point.
[00:41:08] Speaker B: Yeah. But they definitely they need a conclusion here. Like maybe a.
Oh, like an Iron man match or something would be amazing.
[00:41:15] Speaker C: Oh, geez.
[00:41:17] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:41:17] Speaker C: We haven't had one of those in a little bit.
[00:41:19] Speaker B: No. Yeah, yeah. Kyle goes in and he's trying to get more time. He's begging to Aubrey. He wants more time. He can do this. And Marina Shafir comes in and clocks Aubrey Edwards head off. Just like with the ref last week. Claudio comes in, takes out Kyle Rodrick runs out for the save. The rest of the Death Riders come out. Mark Darby and Orange come out and all the Death Riders run.
[00:41:43] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:41:43] Speaker B: Darby gets the mic, says let's send this right here and talks about suffering for a while because that's what he does.
And Mark thankfully grabs the microphone away from Darby. He calls the Death Riders fake ass tough guys because they always run when the fight actually comes up. And Marina just gets pissed. Like she gets so animated.
[00:42:03] Speaker A: Oh my God, she's so mad. I do believe he said that.
[00:42:06] Speaker C: They skedaddle every time.
[00:42:08] Speaker B: Yeah, they skedaddle specifically and then set her off.
Skedaddle.
[00:42:15] Speaker A: I. Yeah, he's just like, I'll you up.
[00:42:19] Speaker B: She just like loses it through like the rest of this segment. Like they're Death Riders are like holding her back.
[00:42:25] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:42:26] Speaker B: But yeah, Mark says they have the perfect solution for this and he says that Morris Cassidy can tell them the plan. He passes the mic to Orange who comes and haws, sighs and grabs a mic and says blood and guts. And Marina loses it even more. She flips.
[00:42:48] Speaker C: So good.
[00:42:50] Speaker B: And just like that we have our. We're gonna be doing a men's and women's blood and guts match on. I believe it's November 12th. I want to say.
[00:42:59] Speaker A: Yes, the 12th. The. That's. That's what I'm landing. I remember. I don't get to watch it.
[00:43:06] Speaker B: No, you, you get to listen to us talk about it though, which is just as good for the Patreon.
[00:43:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I, I guess. Is that going to be like a two match show? Like I don't know how you fit in anything other than Blood and Guts.
[00:43:21] Speaker B: Unless they're doing like one on Collision and one on Dynamite. But I, I feel like, but I don't. They would have said that. Like it seems like it's being advertised as one show, so it probably will be. And the women's should main event. Like it was kind of cool when it was just the women's like in my opinion. Yeah, I get what. This will be a fun match too. And I'm glad they're doing it. But yeah, let the. Let the ladies go out on top.
[00:43:42] Speaker A: Oh, they might actually. The real horror is what if they do another three hour.
[00:43:47] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a part. They could do that.
[00:43:49] Speaker C: They better not because the go home show is the week after and they're doing three hours for the go home show. So they better not do three hours back to back.
[00:43:59] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:44:03] Speaker B: Oh, no.
[00:44:03] Speaker A: They'll do a four hour dynamite for the go home so that they can get a full collision.
And hey, let's add a. Let's add a fifth hour in for old rampages.
[00:44:12] Speaker B: Let's say the next year the dynamite's gonna be longer than the actual pay per views are.
Go until the next morning.
[00:44:20] Speaker A: Oh, good.
[00:44:21] Speaker B: Go until the pay per view starts.
[00:44:23] Speaker A: Yeah, they'll do one of those.
Those WrestleMania Weekender shows where it's like 24 hours of wrestling. Oh yeah, they'll do it. They'll try.
Like, all right, we can't let evil Ludo have the world's longest.
[00:44:35] Speaker B: They're gonna go 24 hours and two minutes or I think that's what Uno actually went. So like 24 minutes and 5 minutes or 24 minutes.
[00:44:44] Speaker A: That would be petty but kind of funny.
[00:44:47] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah.
[00:44:49] Speaker B: We go backstage and Mercedes and Chris Statlander are fighting.
They found each other. They decided to beat each other up. Mercedes drags stat out to the stage and Mercedes is wearing a incredible outfit. It is a flesh colored body suit with like sequin spider webs all over it.
[00:45:09] Speaker A: Oh my God.
[00:45:11] Speaker C: So pretty. Like incredible.
[00:45:13] Speaker A: Understood that assignment.
[00:45:16] Speaker B: This is like a three minute segment. Like you're not on this show very long anymore I've ever seen.
[00:45:23] Speaker C: You did not have to go that hard for that little of time.
[00:45:27] Speaker B: She always. I mean that's. Every look is just so cool and unique. This. This was perfect. Yeah. Stat gets control and slams Mercedes into the ring. And out of nowhere, Athena attacks Chris Statlander takes her down and rolls her in. Because Athena is Mercedes tag partner in the tag tournament for the women's titles.
Do a really cool sequence where Mercedes catches that and hits the backstabber. And then Athena hits the O face off of that and Mercedes catches the statement maker off of the O face as like you had these. I'm already like all 100 on board with these two as a tag team.
[00:46:05] Speaker A: It'll be interesting to see how their dynamic changed because I. I had seen aw posted a clip from when they teamed against Tony and Alex Windsor.
[00:46:16] Speaker B: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:46:20] Speaker A: So this will be an interesting dynamic.
[00:46:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:46:23] Speaker B: And if it means it's more Athena on my television, so I'm happy.
[00:46:27] Speaker A: I am not mad about that either.
[00:46:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:46:29] Speaker C: Nope.
[00:46:30] Speaker B: You're the best.
But, yeah.
Willow and Harley Cameron come out and they run off Athena and Mercedes and they set Mercedes and Athena versus Harley and Willow will be the tournament match for next Wednesday's dinner, which will be really fun.
[00:46:49] Speaker A: And some intrigue. Willow did come out to help Statlander.
[00:46:54] Speaker C: That's true. That's true.
[00:46:55] Speaker B: That's Harley Cameron, the peacemaker.
They announced that also on Collision is going to be Bandido versus Mascara Dorada for the Ring of Honor title with world title. Men's world title, which was going to be a Ring of Honor match, but I get it. Got bumped up to Collision because it's going to be amazing. Like, there's no way that's not gonna be great. Yeah.
[00:47:17] Speaker A: I don't know how you don't put that on tv. Like, I know you want to sell Ring of Honor things, but put that on tv.
[00:47:24] Speaker B: No, it's. This is the move. Yeah. It's the right thing to do.
They do a little highlight package of the Dorada vs Takeshita vs Okada match. That was fire. And just shows how awesome Dorada is. And then they get to what I am considering the most adorable video package in the history of professional wrestling.
It is Bandido and his abuela.
[00:47:47] Speaker C: It was so good.
[00:47:50] Speaker B: I loved it. Like, I just. It's. She's such a cute old lady, and she loves him so much.
[00:47:56] Speaker A: And this is the first time she ever got to see him wrestle was last week.
[00:48:00] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:48:00] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:48:00] Speaker B: And first her first time in America. First time getting to see him wrestle. First time getting to gently caress Kazuchika Okada's hand, but not the last.
[00:48:10] Speaker A: So jealous.
[00:48:12] Speaker B: I know.
Manifesting.
[00:48:15] Speaker A: And Dito is like the. I keep saying it every week. He's like the most white meat baby face. Aw. Has had since.
[00:48:22] Speaker B: You can't not love the dude.
[00:48:24] Speaker A: Like, yeah. Honestly, like, that first run of Hangman Page. Like, he is.
[00:48:29] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:48:30] Speaker A: Incredible.
[00:48:32] Speaker B: She says that everyone always tells her that he is the best at wrestling. And she thanks God for giving her such a great young man.
Yeah.
I mean, I just say it was adorable. And like I said, I mean, Bandit, he's very. He's very wholesome, like, in a great way. He loves his dancing, loves his grandma, and we all love him. Yes.
[00:48:56] Speaker A: He's my.
[00:48:57] Speaker B: And from that wholesomeness, we jump over to the first of the first match of the women's title tag tournament. It is the Sisters of Sin versus Queen Aminata and Jamie Hayter and the Sisters of Sin look very, very spooky. They are quite fitting with the theme of the.
[00:49:19] Speaker C: Scary.
[00:49:21] Speaker B: Werewolf bar mitzvah it gave.
Sorry.
[00:49:29] Speaker A: I wasn't expecting that. Good one.
[00:49:31] Speaker B: I'm rewatching 30 Rock. I'm sorry.
[00:49:35] Speaker A: I know. Like, this. Should they. They should have added powers because of the time of year.
Halloween.
[00:49:42] Speaker C: Exactly.
[00:49:43] Speaker B: I mean, they do win. Like.
[00:49:48] Speaker C: That is true.
[00:49:49] Speaker B: Yep. I will say Sky Blue is the first person I've ever seen take the chocolate kisses without using her hands to block the butt. Like, most people, like, put their hands up and, like, hit. She's just, like, face first into Queen Aminata's ass.
[00:50:01] Speaker C: Like, true professional.
[00:50:04] Speaker A: Yeah, That's. That's dedication to your craft. And butts.
[00:50:10] Speaker C: Yes. Which is my craft.
[00:50:14] Speaker A: Witchcraft.
[00:50:18] Speaker B: There you go.
[00:50:19] Speaker A: Because there's witches in the match. Are they witches? I don't think we've ever actually established what they are supposed to be.
[00:50:25] Speaker C: No, they're sisters.
[00:50:27] Speaker A: They're just spooky.
[00:50:28] Speaker B: Well, I mean, Julia was poisoned by evil at one point because she was a cheerleader, and Malachi sprayed evil into her spring face and eyes. Yeah, I really didn't mean to pause there at all. I really was trying to think of the word as I was. As I hit that pause, too, I was like, this is gonna sound like an innuendo.
[00:50:52] Speaker A: Okay, that's fine.
So wait, so he sprayed evil? He did. He. He sprayed evil.
[00:50:57] Speaker B: She was a cheerleader with.
[00:50:58] Speaker A: Yeah, right.
[00:51:00] Speaker B: It's like, it follows, but with face sprain instead of sex.
[00:51:03] Speaker A: Like, so then.
[00:51:08] Speaker B: I guess it's not actually a demon, like, trying to kill them. It just makes you dress in black.
[00:51:14] Speaker A: Wait, so that. Wait, Julia. Julia sprayed in sky blue to make her evil. Right?
[00:51:22] Speaker C: Can we pick a different verb, please?
[00:51:25] Speaker B: She also squirted into Willow's face at one point.
[00:51:31] Speaker A: But Willow is able to overcome it because of the power of.
[00:51:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Her goodness was stronger than the squirt.
[00:51:37] Speaker C: Like, yeah, I regret everything.
[00:51:42] Speaker A: I don't.
[00:51:42] Speaker B: This is awesome. Leaked.
Gosh.
[00:51:48] Speaker C: I give up. I give up.
[00:51:49] Speaker B: I had way too many of those synonyms at hand.
I don't have a lot for this match.
It was good.
[00:52:01] Speaker A: I mean, like, the. The main story they told was it was Aminata. It was like the classic, like, here's two single stars versus an established tag team. And, yeah, the single stars could dominate if they wanted to, but when it actually came to tag team wrestling, they couldn't keep up, essentially. And that was like, this is, like, why Danielson is so good on commentary. Because he's like, tag team wrestling is a completely different skill set.
Like, you have to learn to rely on someone else.
[00:52:31] Speaker B: Danielson's like a great analyst. Like, he's really brings out that nuance and the stuff. Yeah. I will say Jamie and Queen Aminata, during their insurance coming out, look cool as they had those sunglasses on. And they are like the two just most badass looking people in the world.
Just cool spots.
A lot of big double spots. Jamie hits the double suplex on the sisters.
They do this really great, like, back and forth where both the faces hit double Germans, both the heels hit double thrust kicks, and then the faces hit double lariats. Just like, back and forth tag wrestling. Like, I guess if this is, like a taste of this women's tag division to come, it was a very positive indication.
[00:53:18] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a good match.
I enjoyed it.
[00:53:22] Speaker B: Yeah. They get to get outside.
Jamie gets outside, and out from under the ring is Tekla, who kills Jamie with a spear, and he just looks like a crazy little demon lady. That is really fun to watch. I assume they're set up. They're probably doing Jamie versus Tecla.
[00:53:41] Speaker A: Did they.
[00:53:41] Speaker B: They didn't do that already, did they?
[00:53:42] Speaker A: Yeah, that was at the pay per view.
[00:53:44] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. Okay, so they're not doing that. Or they might be. Who knows? Every other match on this review is the same one from last time so far.
[00:53:51] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't know what they'll do necessarily. Maybe they'll do a trio's match or something.
[00:53:57] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:53:58] Speaker B: Maybe I don't. Maybe. I also just like the idea of Declan just being like, I still hate you, so I'm just gonna keep your life up.
[00:54:06] Speaker A: Yeah. There's no reason for her to stop.
[00:54:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:08] Speaker B: And she was helping out her faction.
[00:54:10] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:54:11] Speaker B: Yeah. The Sisters have saying they hit this, like, it's like a magic killer, like, where they get the legs up into a flatliner, like, double team finisher kind of thing. That was cool.
[00:54:21] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:22] Speaker A: Yeah. I called it a magic killer Uranagi.
[00:54:25] Speaker B: Yeah, That's a good way of putting it. Yeah. Like, if they flip back into, like, the slam again, it's the stuff that makes them feel like a real, like.
[00:54:33] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:54:35] Speaker B: We hop backstage with Tony Schiavone, who is doing a Halloween Havoc callback dressed as the Phantom of the Opera wearing the half face.
Yeah.
[00:54:45] Speaker A: Tony.
[00:54:46] Speaker B: I love Tony Schiavone.
[00:54:47] Speaker A: Make a call back, brother.
[00:54:50] Speaker B: It was great. He just looks so funny in that.
[00:54:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:54:54] Speaker B: He is backstage with Megan Bane and Penelope Ford, and Penelope's wearing a Sling and says that she tore her UCL and is out indefinitely.
She says she is going to. When she comes back, she's gonna make all of them feel the pain that she felt. And like, as we said earlier, she's gonna be missing the tag tournament. She's gonna be missing blood and guts. And Megan Bain needs a tag partner. She says she's just been straight killing women for a while and she's willing to see who steps up with her. And out comes Marina Shafir and you get face to face. And Jon Moxley comes out and gets between them, gives one of the funniest, like 30 second performances on television. You know, he looks back and forth and like looks at the camera. He's like, these two look out.
[00:55:39] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:55:40] Speaker B: I don't know why. It's just little delivery of that was absolutely priceless.
It's a. I'm. That's a fun tag team.
[00:55:47] Speaker C: Like, yeah, yeah, I'm into it.
[00:55:51] Speaker B: Well, and if they do that where now, Marina, they haven't announced the participants. Participants for the women's blood and guts match. So since she's not the men's is gonna be all the male Death Rider. So why not throw her into the women's? Let her kill some in there.
[00:56:05] Speaker A: Yeah, I think she was gonna be in it anyway. But I also don't know what they necessarily have planned for the women's because, like, I don't think they've got the face side set up. Aside from Hater and Aminata.
[00:56:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:56:19] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:56:19] Speaker B: I assume, like probably Willow and Harley and maybe Tony. Yeah.
[00:56:25] Speaker A: If they get Willow and if they get Willow in there, then it makes sense for Marina being there because that like, continues. The Death Riders conglomeration.
[00:56:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I think it's gonna. It might depend on how things go with the T come in too.
[00:56:37] Speaker A: Right.
Which is also why I'm pretty sure that Aminata and Hater lost.
[00:56:43] Speaker B: Yeah. To free them up for. Yeah. Be like, okay, yeah, that makes sense. But yeah, we get to our main event which is Samoa Joe versus Bobby Lashley versus Ricochet versus Hook. It is another Fright Night number one contender of match. This time for the men's world title.
[00:56:59] Speaker C: At Full gear sponsored by DC by.
[00:57:02] Speaker B: DC Comic books are sold.
Three quarters of this match is awesome, like, and one quarter of it is pretty good. I thought it was very, very fun. Like Joe going right after Bobby Lashley, like, which is a. Got a big like through this match is Joe and Bobby, like.
[00:57:22] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:57:22] Speaker B: Facing off and it just looking amazing because people love tna.
[00:57:29] Speaker A: That's it. Yeah. That's. That's. Yeah, the number two promotion.
[00:57:34] Speaker B: I mean, there's some crazy through this, and, like, I. To me, the real standout of this match is Ricochet. He is so good.
Like, he's just perfected his heel while still being a amazing, like, astonishing high flyer to watch all the time.
It's pretty early in where he, like, gets in the face, a hook, and it's kind of like, back away from Hook, and Bobby Lashley gets up behind him, and he turns around and begs off, and just, like, his little expressions and are so good.
[00:58:09] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:58:10] Speaker B: Hook then, like, hits him with a suplex, and he lets out, like, the high pit. One of my favorite things in wrestle is when somebody gets tossed, they go, like, really high pitch.
That was a horrible example.
[00:58:21] Speaker C: But, yeah, my.
[00:58:22] Speaker A: My favorite Ricochet bit in this was when he.
They're all on the outside. Like, Joe just hit, like, a big dive on everybody, and now he's, like, just tossing everybody around, and he grabs Ricochet and, like, chucks him over the stairs. And Ricochet is, like. Before he just goes flying his. He's just like, what did I do?
I just.
So good.
[00:58:49] Speaker B: That was pretty early on, too. Hook gets in Bobby Lashley's face and starts hitting him, and Bobby just, like, puts him on the apron and yells at him to calm down, and then smashes Hook's face, knocks him off the apron.
[00:59:05] Speaker A: There was another bit, like, he looked to the camera is like, sorry, Taz.
[00:59:11] Speaker C: I loved the. The little brother energy that Hook had in this match.
[00:59:15] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[00:59:17] Speaker C: The older kids are opening and. And doing their thing, and the little brother's running up like, I want to fight. I want to fight. I want to fight.
Yeah, exactly.
[00:59:28] Speaker A: Hook's kind of interesting right now to me because, like, like you said, he's got that younger brother energy.
Like, when he came in, he was. He was very much like, a very dominant character.
[00:59:40] Speaker B: Yeah, he's kind of fighting from underneath now.
[00:59:42] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, now he's fighting from underneath. He's got, like, that anime arc where, like, you know, like, you start out the series and, like, the character's, like, really, really strong compared to everybody else. And then, like, here come the big boys, and now he has to train and get stronger.
[00:59:57] Speaker B: And, like, it has, like, an arc villain in Joe, too. Like.
[01:00:00] Speaker A: Yeah, like. Like, Eddie Kingston is his master. Roshi, I guess.
[01:00:04] Speaker B: Yeah, dude, keep it with the dragon ball.
[01:00:08] Speaker A: I don't know.
[01:00:08] Speaker B: His game was perfectly competent throughout this match. He did not look bad. Everything he hit was clean. It was solid. He just. He's not getting, like, quite the reaction the other three people in this match are getting because they are all absolutely top of their game.
[01:00:25] Speaker C: Yeah. Which is, you know, I don't think necessarily on him, like, when you look.
[01:00:29] Speaker B: No, it's.
[01:00:30] Speaker C: Who else was in the match?
[01:00:33] Speaker B: Yeah, it's. That's just his position right now, and he's another one now. I'm optimistic for him, but I think.
[01:00:39] Speaker A: Really the main reason he was in the match was they want to set up. They want to at least lay the. The groundwork for him facing Joe again.
[01:00:47] Speaker B: Yeah, they're keeping that story moving, which does. I feel like the only thing I worry about with that is even when Joe is a heel, he is still more over than anybody.
Like, there's that dive you were talking about earlier. When he hit that. The place erupted into Joe Chance. Like, there was no sense of. And, like, if you're trying to get hook over as this, like, baby face dude, it's gotta be like. I would have almost preferred, like, put him up against Ricochet or somebody who was, like, really getting right, because, like.
[01:01:18] Speaker A: Yeah, like, that. That top, like, that was like, the suicide elbow that Joe is kind of famous for. So, like, of course, everybody popped for that because everybody recognized it.
[01:01:28] Speaker B: And even. But even as entrance, people were still doing the Joe fan, like, the whole time and everything.
Like, the only time he's getting heel reactions is when he's in sporting insulting sports teams.
[01:01:39] Speaker A: Right.
[01:01:40] Speaker B: People scared him.
[01:01:41] Speaker A: He needs to tell people that Powerhouse Hobbs likes big women.
[01:01:46] Speaker C: Again.
[01:01:49] Speaker A: I hated that.
[01:01:54] Speaker C: No, don't say it again.
[01:01:55] Speaker A: Please don't tell me that he.
Yeah, you.
[01:02:05] Speaker B: Bobby Lashley has some, like, crazy here, too. There's a point where, like, Ricochet and I think Joe are, like, squared up against each other, and Bobby comes out and just like, you are killing me, girl.
[01:02:17] Speaker C: Stop clawing at that.
[01:02:18] Speaker B: I am sorry.
[01:02:20] Speaker A: It's crazy that Bobby Lashley said that in the. On camera.
[01:02:23] Speaker B: I know.
My cat is ruining my podcast.
[01:02:30] Speaker A: That stays in.
[01:02:31] Speaker C: I don't care.
[01:02:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I know that. That's fair. Yeah. The first one that went on for a minute. Yeah. Bobby pounces Ricochet just out of the ring off of this.
And Joe and Lashley get into a big strike exchange, and the people just are going nuts for it. Like, everybody wants to see this.
[01:02:50] Speaker C: Me, me, me.
[01:02:52] Speaker B: Yeah.
Like, I. I know we said a billion times, But Bobby is 50 years old, and he looks amazing. He gets Joe up for one of the highest choke slams I've ever seen anybody get on anybody.
Somebody. Samoa Joe's Size. Then right off that Ricochet goes for a dive on the Bobby. Bobby catches him just effortlessly. Listen to his shoulder. Yeah. Flips him over like on his shoulder like he's a little three year old nephew or some. It smashes him with a dominator.
Like, oh, that was. This is a 200 and probably 40, 30 pound man easy. And I've just tossed him around like a bag of straw.
[01:03:33] Speaker C: Yeah. It's wildly impressive.
[01:03:36] Speaker B: I literally wrote, Bobby Lashley's not human. Like, that's just all I can imagine.
[01:03:42] Speaker A: Here's what I like, I really appreciate about Bobby Lashley's strength is that he does all these cool spots and he does it with smaller wrestlers. But like he does it in a way that it does.
[01:03:54] Speaker B: Like it's not overdone.
[01:03:56] Speaker A: Like, like the, the big, the big complaint that people usually have about modern wrestling is like, it's very obviously guys working together.
[01:04:05] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:04:05] Speaker A: To do like the cool stuff. So like, oh, I'm helping you lift me. When Lashley does it, it doesn't look that way.
[01:04:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:04:13] Speaker A: Like it.
[01:04:13] Speaker B: He doesn't need, he doesn't need your help to lift you. He can just do that.
[01:04:17] Speaker A: I mean like. Yeah, very clearly. Yes. Like there is people that, that like they're giving him a. Like they're giving him like it looks, it looks more natural. Like there was a. I, I noticed like a section where he, he got hookup and was like trying to like position him and it looked like he was like, all right, hang on. How do I flip this human around? I'm like, okay, yeah, there we go. It's like he's thinking, exactly. It's not like I'm going to do this and then you're going along.
[01:04:46] Speaker B: He's like, yeah, so yeah, I gotta toss this dude.
[01:04:50] Speaker A: So good at that.
[01:04:51] Speaker B: I said, even hook get some good here. Like he gets go up for a suplex, which was really impressive looking. But then he, yeah, he does a brag dance around the ring for way too long like afterwards and gets just murked by Ricochet.
And yeah, they just like Ricochet gets his really badass sequence after that where he takes out Bobby and Joe with dives to the outside and he hits a shooting star on hook that I genuinely thought was going to finish the match.
[01:05:24] Speaker C: The one of the most perfect shooting star presses I've ever seen.
He just hit it perfectly.
[01:05:30] Speaker A: Let's talk. Also actually like rewind. He hit a goddamn Sasuke special.
[01:05:35] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[01:05:37] Speaker A: And landed on his feet.
Yeah.
[01:05:40] Speaker B: I mean he's another one of the, like, I Mean, everybody talks about like what a great athlete he is, but you guys, like he has been working at this level for like 20 years without ever slowing down. Like he can still hit all of these crazy athletic, like, I mean he's modulated his style into like, you know, being a little more physical and gotten bigger and stuff. But like he just doesn't. All this stuff looks like nothing to him. Like it's effortless.
[01:06:07] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:06:07] Speaker B: Saying yeah. He sets up, he goes for the spirit gun on hook, but Hook catches it and turns into the red room, which is pretty good.
Joe comes up and wipes him both out with the senton.
And this battle like one of my favorite spots where Joe gets hooked up for the muscle buster and Bobby spears Joe while he has hook up in the muscle buster. And then while Bobby has the pin on ricochet hits a 450 splash onto Bobby to fucking break it up.
It was just like my.
[01:06:40] Speaker A: This match ruled so much.
[01:06:43] Speaker B: Yeah, both this and the four way tag match over delivered like we're so much better than I thought they were gonna.
[01:06:50] Speaker C: Yeah, they really did.
[01:06:51] Speaker A: Especially this, this the, the main event. Because like a lot of times Dynamite main events, they'll feel like they've like the show's peaked and the main event doesn't really, you know, match the energy of the show.
[01:07:06] Speaker B: Yeah, usually like the big like work match is like a little like it's a big tag match or something and the main spend like workout story thing. But this really delivered up both the hook low bridges. Bobby gets him to the outside and Ricochet hits Bobby with a chair, which Bobby Lashley completely no sells. He just like just kind of looks at him and he goes after Ricochet and Joe catches hook in the coquina clutch and gets the win to set up Joe versus Hangman, the rematch at full year.
Yeah, I. That's what you're saying. Just killer. Killer. Max, I really loved everything about that is awesome. Yeah, yeah, I kind of. I do feel like I would have like Ricochet to win.
Like I hooking. I mean Hangman and Joe will be good and I appreciate the story that they're still doing with. It would have been nice just to see like another big heel guy in there, I think.
[01:08:03] Speaker A: Yeah. It just does come down to them have being in a bit of a holding pattern for full year.
[01:08:09] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. And this is the third year in a row that Hangman is facing the same person he faced at Wrestle Dream at Full gear. He did it with Strickland and then he did it with Jay White and Now he's doing it with Joe.
[01:08:25] Speaker C: Interesting.
[01:08:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I saw that.
I thought I'd relay it to our listeners.
[01:08:30] Speaker A: That is good. Yeah, I did not, I did not pick up on that good. Yeah. Journalism.
[01:08:35] Speaker B: I mean, he won, he won the, the Swerve with the. Wasn't the cage match one of those.
[01:08:41] Speaker A: No cage match revolution because he, he, he wrestled Swerve. He had a singles match and then he had Texas Death and he lost both of them. Them back to back. Yeah, he didn't beat Swerve until the case.
[01:08:56] Speaker B: He won that cage match. Yeah.
[01:08:58] Speaker A: And that was like much further down the line.
[01:09:01] Speaker B: Okay. That was so good. I still remember, like, yeah, the end of that match. One of my favorite wrestling moments ever is, you know, he just killed Swerve, put the needle in his cheek, killed him with the chair and won the match. And he's walking up the ramp and all these people are attending to Swerve in the ring. And Hangman stops and he looks back at the ring and he turns and he starts walking back towards the ring. And a woman in the crowd just lets out the most blood curdling scream you've ever heard. Like horror movie ass scream. Because she's so terrified about him going back into the ring to do more. This word of Strickland, I was like, damn, that connected good.
Yeah. But off that tangent, the Ops come in and join Joe in the ring. Tony Schiavone, still dressed as the Phantom of the Opera, comes in and joins Joe in the ring and says that they're going to do a Fright Night contract signing. Tony calls for the Fright Night workers to come out and all the masks come out earlier.
We got a cow, we got chicken, we got staple marshmallow man got a bull, we got the weird black dude, we got the.
The side of beef we agreed on.
[01:10:12] Speaker A: Yeah, I think it's the meat for the meat match.
[01:10:17] Speaker B: Oh, that might be. Yeah, for the meme of it.
Joe says he wants to make sure it's a safe environment for him to sign the contract. Andy 6 the OPS onto the mascots who proceed to beat the out of him. And which caused my one commentary line I wrote down tonight, which was Bryan Danielson saying, sadly, that poor chicken.
Oh, yeah, absolutely killed me. He founded some.
[01:10:48] Speaker A: Even before when they were getting in the ring. He's like, yeah, we got to get that chicken in the ring.
[01:10:56] Speaker B: The chicken got caught up on the ropes trying to get. They couldn't get through the ropes and they had to.
[01:11:01] Speaker C: Like, I was sitting, I was sitting here and said, out Loud to myself. I was like, ain't no way that.
[01:11:06] Speaker B: Chicken getting in the ring.
[01:11:10] Speaker A: It makes me wonder who was in the chicken costume because Danielson seemed like, very invested in that chicken.
Or. Or he was just high again. I don't know.
[01:11:21] Speaker B: Yeah, that's Paul London in there.
[01:11:26] Speaker A: If they got Paul London in to be the chicken.
[01:11:29] Speaker B: Danielson's tag partner in the.
[01:11:31] Speaker A: That's what I'm saying. Like if they got. If they.
Yeah, it was at the. The. The dolphin pod with the buzzing.
[01:11:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:11:39] Speaker A: Like if they.
[01:11:40] Speaker B: If they're two weirdest in wrestling together.
[01:11:43] Speaker A: I'm just saying, if they put Paul London at a cameo as the chicken and that was it.
That's like the greatest wrestling cameo of all time. I'm sorry.
[01:11:53] Speaker C: Honestly.
[01:11:55] Speaker B: Yep. Grab the stay Puff Marshmallow Man. He's the only one they haven't beaten up. Assuming that it's Hangman recreating his famous Ghostbusters attack on the Bucks dressed as Staple Marshmallow Man. They pull off the head and it's not Hangman. But they still the dude up regardless.
[01:12:11] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:12:11] Speaker B: Poor job.
[01:12:13] Speaker A: Poor guy.
[01:12:14] Speaker B: Yep. Joe, now that all the mascots are out, apologizes for the carnage and signs the contract.
And I will though, too. This is where I saw one of my favorite signs of the night was somebody was holding up a treehouse of horror from the Simpsons.
[01:12:30] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:12:30] Speaker B: Back credit developed by James Hell Brooks. I was like, that's a wonderful, amazing. Yeah.
[01:12:37] Speaker A: It been up the entire show paid.
[01:12:40] Speaker C: If there ever was one.
[01:12:41] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:12:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Wrestling and the Simpsons go together like peanut butter and jelly.
[01:12:47] Speaker B: Old man. Stink breath. The Hitman heart.
[01:12:52] Speaker C: Either.
[01:12:58] Speaker B: It's funny. He plays himself. He's not like a wrestling character in the Simpsons. Like the. Like.
[01:13:04] Speaker A: No.
[01:13:05] Speaker B: And stuff like the girls. He isn't it.
[01:13:08] Speaker A: Yeah. You'll be living next door. You won't be the only wrestler in the neighborhood. Hitman.
You'll be living next door to the shrieking chic.
All right.
[01:13:22] Speaker B: Joe says he will soon relieve Hangman of the burden of being champion. Tony Schiavone says it's official and calls for a toast congratulating Samoa Joe. The ops all grab a beer. Joe grabs a beer and looks at it like. Huh? Beer.
[01:13:40] Speaker A: That Tony Schiavone has grown like a foot in this.
[01:13:43] Speaker B: Nobody notices that. And we're. Tony also grabs a beer and he raises a toast to all the wrestling. To full gear. The hangman Adam Page, the living embodiment of cowboy.
He pulls off his hair and it is.
It is Hangman Adam Page.
[01:14:04] Speaker A: Long may he reign this genuinely got me.
[01:14:09] Speaker B: I don't. I knew something was coming. Like this was going on for too long for there not to be like some kind of.
I thought, you know, Hangman was gonna come up from under the ring or some shit until the hair was taken off. I didn't notice. Maybe I was just high, but it happened.
[01:14:28] Speaker C: I noticed like, there was like a. A quick, like, pan that like, showed Hangman as dressed up as Shivani. And I noticed the hair and I was like, why is Shivani's hair slicked back like that? Like, is he doing something that's weird? And then like, I kind of put it all together and was like, oh, okay.
[01:14:46] Speaker B: I did kind of notice, like, they. Because Hangman has to lip sync to Tony speaking over.
[01:14:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:14:52] Speaker B: And it sounded a little funky, but then I was like, it's aew. The audio might just be up, like, right.
[01:14:58] Speaker A: I. I think they were doing some kind of voice modulation thing because it sounded like Hangman was talking in his voice.
Okay.
[01:15:08] Speaker B: I was. I thought like, Tony Schiavone was just like in the back, like, speaking over, like an actual working microphone and hanging.
[01:15:15] Speaker A: But like, I could. I could hear Hangman's voice.
[01:15:18] Speaker C: Yeah, I heard that as well.
[01:15:19] Speaker A: It was. It was very weird.
[01:15:21] Speaker B: I want a Tony Schiavone voice modulator.
[01:15:24] Speaker A: I do too.
[01:15:25] Speaker C: And you have, right?
[01:15:25] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, do. So many prank calls to his wife.
I am arrested again.
[01:15:30] Speaker A: Honey, it happened again.
[01:15:36] Speaker B: I just went into.
I don't know.
[01:15:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I've been thrown out of the George C. Scott Film Festival.
[01:15:43] Speaker B: I'm George C. Scott and I'm finally making an appearance in this episode.
[01:15:46] Speaker A: It's those Godamn fake fights again.
[01:15:53] Speaker B: We waited till the very end to bring them out. Not hollow. It's not Scott. It's the end of Scott Tober.
[01:15:59] Speaker A: We had Scottober. Yes, we're allowed. It's the last time. Well, actually, Ella's not here to yell at us, so.
[01:16:05] Speaker B: Yeah, I haven't wasted it.
[01:16:11] Speaker A: I'm Tony Schiavone.
[01:16:13] Speaker B: Somebody called this pony Schiavone. Which. That made me laugh a couple times.
[01:16:19] Speaker C: That's really good.
[01:16:21] Speaker B: Yeah, that's really good. Whoever said that on Blue sky, that was very funny of you.
[01:16:26] Speaker A: Well done. Well done.
[01:16:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Hangman kills the ops. He attacks Joe Security, gets in separates.
He still looks goofy wearing, like the Tony Schiavone suit. Like, up, up.
And we. Yep. That's the end of the show, though. We got away from that. And I. I thought this was a very, very fun dynamite.
It was last from start to finish.
[01:16:55] Speaker A: Do not with Hangman Page on Halloween.
[01:16:58] Speaker C: That's the lesson.
[01:16:59] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, that was quite the bit, like. Because I already found it funny seeing Tony dressed as the Phantom of the Opera again. Like that already. I was enjoying that. But then, like, turning it into something that genuinely caught me off guard. Like that. Like, I did not see that coming.
[01:17:16] Speaker A: Great. Dynamite.
[01:17:17] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:17:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:17:19] Speaker B: Matches were sick. I'm excited for full gear. As I say. I don't know if there's even announcement too much for next week. Collision looks stacked, which will be fun as hell.
[01:17:28] Speaker A: Yeah. We got Mercedes versus Olympia.
[01:17:31] Speaker B: Yep.
[01:17:32] Speaker A: Is there. Are they doing another women's tournament match.
[01:17:36] Speaker B: On Collision or no, the next one's gonna be Mercedes and Athena vs. Willow and Harley next Wednesday, I believe.
[01:17:42] Speaker A: And so they're really gonna drag that out.
[01:17:44] Speaker B: Yeah, they'll probably do. They might. They'll probably do, like, the finals at full gear, I imagine, at the.
[01:17:51] Speaker A: Well, maybe.
[01:17:53] Speaker B: I don't know.
[01:17:54] Speaker A: Well, I don't think.
[01:17:55] Speaker B: How many weeks away. How many weeks away is full gear?
It's the 22nd. Right.
[01:17:58] Speaker A: So full gears.
That's three weeks.
[01:18:02] Speaker B: Yeah. And then. But one of those weeks is. One of those weeks is blood and guts, so they might not have a tournament. Yeah.
[01:18:08] Speaker A: So blood and guts is in two weeks. Yeah.
[01:18:13] Speaker C: Collision, too.
[01:18:15] Speaker B: Yeah, they got. Yeah. So we've got. Yeah. One, two, three more quarterfinals. I'm really not good at math. I can sell a box.
[01:18:26] Speaker C: Addition.
[01:18:27] Speaker B: Yeah. That hurt.
[01:18:29] Speaker A: No, but we can count the three, like figuring out tournaments.
[01:18:34] Speaker B: I'm just trying to think. They're semis, then. Yeah. So there'll be three quarters. What, two semis and then a final. So there'll be six matches.
[01:18:45] Speaker A: That sounds right. Seven matches. It's the first. They'll do the first round, and then there's another round, and then. This is. Right.
[01:18:51] Speaker B: Riveting listening for people right now, I'm sure. Yeah.
[01:18:54] Speaker C: Seven matches.
[01:18:56] Speaker A: Tune in next week for.
What the. Are we doing.
[01:19:02] Speaker C: Wednesday night fake math.
[01:19:05] Speaker A: Wednesday night math. Two plus two equals fish.
[01:19:14] Speaker B: You all got anything else to add? I think we can call that one in the books. Oh, I became a hillbilly there.
[01:19:20] Speaker A: But it's. It was a good show. I. I am more than happy with how AW's TV has been the last, like, couple months at this point. God, yeah. Yeah.
[01:19:35] Speaker B: It's been a streak.
[01:19:38] Speaker A: If they. If they don't give us Okada vs Takeshita anytime soon, I might.
[01:19:43] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know how much longer they're gonna bring that out for. Like.
[01:19:47] Speaker A: Like, it's smart But God damn it, give it to me. I'm ready.
[01:19:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:19:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:19:52] Speaker A: I'm ready.
[01:19:54] Speaker B: I could see the finals of the Continental Classic. Like, if they do that after the women's tournament's over. It's that time of year.
[01:20:01] Speaker A: If they. They can't make that, like, the final. Like, they can't hold up that much long, though.
[01:20:07] Speaker C: Yeah, there's.
[01:20:08] Speaker A: There's almost. Like, I could. I could see them doing it at full gear.
[01:20:12] Speaker B: They're just gonna keep sticking them in tag matches for the next six months.
[01:20:16] Speaker A: I. I could. I could see them doing it at full gear.
[01:20:20] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:20:21] Speaker A: And Okada winning with.
And then you get to the finals.
And at the finals is when Takeshita gets the big win. Because then, like. Because then he's not just beating. Okada.
[01:20:37] Speaker B: Takes it at Wrestle Kingdom.
[01:20:40] Speaker A: Don't get me started on that.
I don't even know if I'm gonna be able to afford a ticket to Wrestle Kingdom. And I really want to go to Wrestle Kingdom.
At Wrestle Kingdom. I'm going, and I'm going to just, like, do what I'm thinking of doing. If I don't get it, I will. Kick me out. I mean, like, look at my titties.
It would kick me out.
Anyway.
[01:21:08] Speaker C: It was a good show. It was a good show. Excited for Pay Per View and excited to see what they do next week, as well as what we do next week. On Wednesday night, Fake fights keep Danielson.
[01:21:22] Speaker B: In the hetrocero mask forever. Tony, do it.
[01:21:24] Speaker A: Yes. Forever.
And then put them next to each other.
[01:21:29] Speaker B: Every commentator. Then have Taz come out in a mask. Eventually. Like, everybody that sits at the commentary dance just eventually gets a mask.
[01:21:37] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:21:38] Speaker B: Stokely comes out. Only has a mask when he's sitting at the count.
[01:21:42] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:21:42] Speaker A: Every. Every guest commentator must put on a mask if they want to join. They can choose which mask, but they have to wear a mask.
[01:21:49] Speaker B: It's the law.
Yeah.
[01:21:51] Speaker A: Jack Perry comes out in the scapegoat thing again.
And then just, like, the whole thing.
[01:21:59] Speaker B: Don Callis comes out in a. Just a. Like, Michael Myers mask of his own face.
[01:22:06] Speaker A: More leathery.
[01:22:13] Speaker C: All right with that.
[01:22:15] Speaker B: I think that's a great.
[01:22:18] Speaker A: That's a good point.
[01:22:19] Speaker C: We will see you next week.
[01:22:21] Speaker B: Bye, everyone. Happy rest of. Happy, happy Halloween.
I must watch for wrestling Dead wrestlers.
[01:22:47] Speaker A: We built the world's first web camera into this, as seen in the movie Copycat, starring Sigourney Weaver.
