[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void.
But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling.
And with that, there was Monday, and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages.
On the second day, God got depressed, and lo did she post about it on the DBD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday.
On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her.
We know what that means.
[00:01:01] Speaker B: Hey, hey, hey. And welcome to another week of Wednesday night fake fights, where we discuss all things AEW and have lots of laughs. As always, I'm getting slick with it.
As always. I'm one of your hosts, Jeff the Tokimongoos he him. And I'm so happy to be here to discuss wrestling with y'. All. And with me, as always, are my two wonderful co hosts.
[00:01:27] Speaker A: It's Erica Warren. She they smiling politely.
[00:01:33] Speaker C: It's Piper Willow. She it. Jeff, are you sure you don't want to get a clean take on the intro?
[00:01:39] Speaker B: I'm actually pretty okay with it.
[00:01:41] Speaker C: All right, then we will just roll.
[00:01:43] Speaker B: I look conversational.
[00:01:45] Speaker C: You know, we are. We are here.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: We made it.
Episode 301. 301 three.
[00:01:53] Speaker C: Is this.
[00:01:54] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, it is 300.
[00:01:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Last week was 300.
[00:01:57] Speaker C: Have to shift through my notes here. We're not talking about nitro this week.
[00:02:00] Speaker B: No, thank God I deleted those on 50.
[00:02:03] Speaker A: No, thank. We're not talking about nitro this week.
[00:02:06] Speaker C: No. We are talking about different explosive device. It is AEW dynamite for July 9, 2025.
[00:02:15] Speaker B: Go Home Show.
[00:02:16] Speaker C: The Go Home show for y' all in coming up rapidly indeed.
[00:02:21] Speaker B: Days away.
[00:02:21] Speaker C: Now two, as you were listening to this day away, if not less.
[00:02:28] Speaker B: Yeah. Call it a day and a half.
[00:02:30] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:02:32] Speaker B: But there's a whole week of wrestling Collision's happening in about 12 minutes. Tomorrow is Super Card of Honor, which is going to be awesome.
[00:02:40] Speaker A: That's right.
[00:02:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm powering through Collision into supercar. I'm trying to be all caught up when we get to all in itself.
[00:02:47] Speaker C: I want to watch Super Card of Honor, but I'm looking at, like, from last night until the end of Saturday, I'm like, I'm not gonna see, like, the rest of my house if I watch that.
[00:02:59] Speaker B: So I'm buckling down. Yeah, Yeah.
[00:03:02] Speaker A: I can order at a pizza on Saturday.
[00:03:05] Speaker C: Oh, that's a good idea.
[00:03:06] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm doing Chinese, as I say, because that's something I can eat for a while. Throughout the day. The pizza is good for that.
[00:03:12] Speaker C: Don't get it twisted. We will eat on Mike.
[00:03:15] Speaker B: Oh, we gotta. This is gonna be like six hours.
[00:03:17] Speaker C: I think it hits off at, like, three for the proper show.
Eastern time.
[00:03:21] Speaker A: Yeah, we start at one.
[00:03:26] Speaker C: Puckalot pokes. It's gonna be a long day.
[00:03:28] Speaker B: Gotta watch that Big boom aj. He's facing somebody in the Don Callis family.
[00:03:31] Speaker A: Oh, God, is he.
[00:03:33] Speaker B: Yeah, they announced. He did. He did a promo on Twitter, piping it up like he always does his.
Honestly, he does better work repping this company than some of the wrestlers does.
[00:03:43] Speaker C: I mean, it gets probably a ton more eyes on it.
[00:03:46] Speaker B: Yeah. But, yeah, he called out. He's like, I'm gonna face one of the Don Callis family ashta doing double duty this weekend.
[00:03:55] Speaker A: He'll probably be like, I would laugh if Takeshita walked out, elbowed the Rizzler guy in the face.
[00:04:03] Speaker B: Gives the raging fire to the Rizzler, puts him through the mat.
I imagine it'll probably be Rocky or Josh Alexander, if I'm guessing.
[00:04:12] Speaker A: I think it's Trent. Oh, Trent.
[00:04:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:16] Speaker A: Somebody brought up Trent, like, tried starting with the Costco dad.
[00:04:20] Speaker B: Yeah, they were. They were tweeting back as well, chirping on the Internets.
[00:04:24] Speaker C: I can believe that.
[00:04:25] Speaker B: Yeah, I'm a pro. Big boom AJ guy, Costco guys. I don't watch any of their stuff.
[00:04:30] Speaker A: I mean, yeah, he's. He's had good matches, you know, I haven't hated him, at least.
[00:04:35] Speaker C: That is.
That is a relief to hear because, like, I saw they always put him.
[00:04:39] Speaker B: On the pre show.
[00:04:40] Speaker C: Yeah. It came across my YouTube feed as they were promoting that match a couple papers ago. And it was like, it's big justice versus I forget who he faced. And it came up and I'm like.
[00:04:50] Speaker B: Or something.
[00:04:51] Speaker C: Yeah, it was QT Marshall. And I saw it. I was like, I'm watching that.
[00:04:57] Speaker B: He was a legit pro wrestler back in the. In, like, the Jersey Indies.
[00:05:01] Speaker C: I did know that.
[00:05:02] Speaker B: And I do wrestle Joey Janelle.
[00:05:05] Speaker C: I do believe that y'.
[00:05:06] Speaker A: All.
[00:05:07] Speaker C: Y' all are not. Not backing him, but say he's a credible performer. So we will see.
[00:05:13] Speaker B: No, he's. It was well constructed for his purpose.
[00:05:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I. I would put, like, a lot of the credit for that one on QT Marshall.
[00:05:22] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:05:23] Speaker A: Putting it together.
[00:05:24] Speaker C: Enough about what's going to happen. Let's talk about what happened.
We start off with Mercedes and Tony having their little chat.
Heart to heart get together, Face Off. Sting was there, too. That was cool.
[00:05:41] Speaker A: Sting was there.
[00:05:43] Speaker B: It Was a Sting cosplayer in the front row who looked just like Sting.
[00:05:47] Speaker C: It was a picture of Sting. Oh, no, no, no.
[00:05:50] Speaker A: I mean it could have been Sting holding it. We know that he likes to hide out.
[00:05:53] Speaker B: I thought there was somebody I look like him.
[00:05:55] Speaker C: There was. I. I was referencing when he showed up in WWE for the first time a number of years ago. And jbl, like, that's not Sting. That's a picture of Sting.
[00:06:06] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, that's right. I blocked out his like WC WWE run.
[00:06:11] Speaker C: Probably for the best. It was not great.
[00:06:13] Speaker B: But what's great is Mercedes in that. The cowboy outfit again.
[00:06:18] Speaker C: Yes, again. The most flashiest outfits I've maybe ever seen.
[00:06:23] Speaker B: Red hearts all over. It look very cool.
[00:06:26] Speaker C: I love having the belts hanging on the ropes while they're out there.
[00:06:29] Speaker B: Cool touch.
[00:06:30] Speaker C: Having our little, little chat.
[00:06:32] Speaker A: It looks so good. Like, I know people wanted to drape them on her, but like having them hung up just kind of shows it's.
[00:06:38] Speaker B: It's like, it's like a trophy room.
[00:06:40] Speaker A: Her Persona. Yeah. It's like I have these. They don't mean as much to me, but I have them because I could get them.
[00:06:47] Speaker C: I don't want them, but I have them.
[00:06:49] Speaker B: I had what Tony popped up on the screen first before she came out, I think.
[00:06:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:54] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:06:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:06:55] Speaker C: Her and Luther talked about how only two things come from Texas and she's at least one of them.
[00:07:01] Speaker B: That was a good little call out.
[00:07:03] Speaker C: Me too, Tony. Me too.
Mercedes calls her out, says, face me, you mark.
[00:07:09] Speaker B: Yeah. The M word around. That's when you know it's real.
[00:07:13] Speaker C: They have a toast with burnt champagne to seven belts. Monet.
[00:07:18] Speaker B: I did like this little back and forth. They do too.
[00:07:20] Speaker C: Yeah. Tony had some, some good jabs at Mercedes. Said she had the authenticity of a spray tan in a rainstorm. The emotional depths of a kiddie pool. And that she is also a pussy faced fraud.
[00:07:34] Speaker B: To which Tony says, coming in hot. And then Taz says stiff city as one of my early Taz lines of the night. Not my favorite.
[00:07:43] Speaker C: Yeah, not yet. Not yet. But that is one that I noted as well.
[00:07:46] Speaker B: Yeah, Pussy face. Fraud. Yeah.
Yeah. Crowd's super behind Tony. Like they absolutely love. I mean, they're both getting good reactions towards their life. Mercedes is getting consistent heat and Tony is just like the most popular wrestler.
[00:08:01] Speaker C: I. Yeah, I think it was a great little segment. Tony yelling at Mercedes to eat as a, as a has fight.
[00:08:12] Speaker A: It was a good line, but I preferred it when she said it like at the end of the segment and she's just in the ring, holding up.
[00:08:18] Speaker C: The title, takes her hat, starts dancing around.
[00:08:26] Speaker B: Just the best, like the best character in wrestling. I just can't get enough of her. I saw some. I think it was like, I. One of the people on Twitter said like, Tony has that thing where you really see her character and you wonder what kind of person she is in real life. Like, none of it really almost bleeds through. You're just like, who is this?
[00:08:45] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. It's a true. It's not a Persona. It is a true character, which I think is.
[00:08:52] Speaker B: It's so like 180 from what her old thing was like the rock star.
And it was just kind of more like a good in ring person without much character. And to this, this mad woman, her and Jude Robinson's house must be the craziest place on earth. I imagine it's like fucking wonderland.
They're just cats spreading, bouncing around everywhere.
[00:09:15] Speaker A: Come out and just like. I don't know what just happened in there, but I think somebody. I think somebody slipped me a tad. The pcp.
[00:09:24] Speaker B: Yeah, I thought it was a good segment. Like, I'm definitely. I'm excited for the match. I feel like it could go either way, which a lot. This, almost this whole card, I really. There's.
[00:09:33] Speaker C: Yeah, it's up in the air, which is exciting to. To kind of not go into a show knowing, all right, this is how it's going to play out.
[00:09:41] Speaker B: This is going to happen is what's going to happen. Yeah.
[00:09:44] Speaker C: Not quite sure on this one, which is exciting.
Same can be said for the.
What we assume to be main event between Hangman, Adam Page and Jon Moxley, who has another little backstage promo calling out Hangman and whether he'll hold the line and about how Mox has never lost a war of attrition. I know it's shorthand, but why do they keep calling it Texas death?
It's only one more syllable. And just calling it Texas Death sounds silly, I think.
[00:10:12] Speaker A: Yeah, I guess it just sounds much. I guess it's just to do the Texas thing and just highlight that.
[00:10:18] Speaker B: Knox is a busy guy. He doesn't have time for words.
[00:10:21] Speaker C: He doesn't have time for one more syllable.
[00:10:23] Speaker A: He gotta shave his head some more.
[00:10:25] Speaker B: In other dark alleys and stairwells.
[00:10:29] Speaker A: I do, I do take issue with his line about how he's never lost a war of attrition and Hangman isn't ready for him in this type of matches. Like John 2003. 2023. Excuse me, you. You lost this exact same match. To the exact same opponent.
[00:10:48] Speaker B: I didn't like Moxley saying that. All the way in or all in. All the way in.
Way to win there.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: Going balls deep on your head, man.
[00:11:00] Speaker C: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to AEW Balls Deep.
[00:11:05] Speaker B: That would actually be a pretty good podcast name for actually.
But, yeah. Is this kind of normal? Like, a lot of mocks promos kind of blend together for me now. Yeah, yeah, he does it well. But it's just like that same cadence, that same, like, message usually in a stairwell or like, back part of the.
[00:11:23] Speaker C: I'm ready for these guys to finally fight.
[00:11:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:26] Speaker C: And just like, yeah, just get it over with. Just. Just go beat the. Out of each other. Have like 18 run ins, the whole nine yards.
[00:11:34] Speaker B: Yeah. Danielson, swerve. Great colleague. Get them all out there.
[00:11:39] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:11:39] Speaker C: The two greatest stars of our generation, Bryan Danielson and the great Cully.
[00:11:44] Speaker B: Oh. If that, like, Indian music starts playing during the gauntlet that's over.
[00:11:50] Speaker C: The young bucks and their custom JPEG limo makes a return.
[00:11:57] Speaker A: JPEG limo.
[00:11:59] Speaker B: The founding father mobile very briefly to.
[00:12:04] Speaker C: Show it off and show them off.
[00:12:05] Speaker B: That, yes, we're here and the Lima was here.
[00:12:09] Speaker C: You're the EVPs. We would hope so.
[00:12:11] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:12:11] Speaker B: You have a match tonight. You better be here.
[00:12:13] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:14] Speaker B: But they had more so to establish the Lima.
[00:12:17] Speaker A: Of course.
[00:12:18] Speaker C: Of course. Foreshadowing. We'll get to that.
[00:12:21] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:12:22] Speaker C: We'll also get to Bandito and Brody King versus Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher as your opening bout for the evening.
[00:12:30] Speaker A: All right, I'm gonna complain for a second, please. I hate Proto. I hate Proto Shida as a tag team name.
[00:12:36] Speaker C: It's bad. It's not good.
[00:12:37] Speaker A: Sucks.
[00:12:38] Speaker B: No, it sucks. Yeah, they're little like their.
What do you call it? Like, their image behind them. I can't think of the word. The big screen. That was pretty cool. Yeah, it's photosheet. It just feels like a joke.
[00:12:49] Speaker A: Yeah, it looks really cool. But it says Proto Sheeta.
[00:12:52] Speaker C: You have to say it comes out of your mouth and you're like, no, I don't.
[00:12:56] Speaker A: I don't know what they should be called.
[00:12:58] Speaker B: The Cash star was right there.
[00:13:00] Speaker A: Somebody. Somebody suggested something with soup, but I think that's like kind of more of an Internet thing.
[00:13:05] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:13:06] Speaker A: And that's goofy to catch this call of Soup, but.
[00:13:08] Speaker B: Yeah. No protocol.
[00:13:09] Speaker A: I don't know. Think of something else.
[00:13:10] Speaker B: But it kind of is like Kyle Fletcher's whole thing. It's the same, like, calling his fans Fletch Lights and like that. And the obnoxiousness is the point. I think.
[00:13:21] Speaker A: I mean, okay, yeah, I. The fair. But Fletchlights.
[00:13:26] Speaker B: Fletch Lights does rule avidly throw Fleshlights, don't get me wrong.
And I love Kyle's outfit. The pink on him is amazing. I love his glasses with the little hearts dangling off of them.
Like he's just gonna turn into this fully fledged, like, weird dragon of a man.
[00:13:46] Speaker A: He's such a weird little.
[00:13:48] Speaker C: Yes, yes.
[00:13:49] Speaker B: I love him.
[00:13:50] Speaker A: I love him.
[00:13:52] Speaker C: Don Callis, of course, joins on commentary. To the surprise of nobody says he'll.
[00:13:56] Speaker B: Only talk to Taz because Taz is the only one who's drawing money.
[00:14:00] Speaker C: Tony's debatable.
[00:14:02] Speaker B: Yeah, Tony's debatable, but he's definitely not talking to Excalibur.
[00:14:06] Speaker C: Never drew a dime.
[00:14:09] Speaker A: Excalibur got his ass kicked in some pretty memorable PWG matches.
[00:14:13] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:14:15] Speaker A: And let's not forget team masturbation in czw.
[00:14:18] Speaker B: And really, I mean, none of this would exist without pwg. Pretty much, anyway.
[00:14:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:14:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:14:24] Speaker C: And the man's become the voice of aew, so, you know, he's made a couple dollars for himself.
[00:14:33] Speaker A: He's done more than a dime.
[00:14:35] Speaker C: Don.
[00:14:38] Speaker A: Say hi to the man.
[00:14:39] Speaker B: Yeah, this is a. This is a stacked ass match, though.
[00:14:43] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:14:43] Speaker A: Yeah, it is.
[00:14:44] Speaker B: It is. Four people I love.
[00:14:45] Speaker C: Just a lot of beating in this match.
[00:14:49] Speaker B: Right.
[00:14:49] Speaker C: Everybody kind of gets their licks in. Everybody's doing dives, Everybody's doing jumps. Jumbo Jet Jones.
[00:14:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
So question, are the hounds of hell done? I know, like, Buddy's gone for a while. If might ever be coming back, like, him and Julie are just not in a faction anymore.
[00:15:10] Speaker A: I guess. So, I mean, we'll see what happens when Buddy comes back.
[00:15:14] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:15] Speaker A: But, yeah, they've been very. They've, like, kept that whole gimmick on ice.
[00:15:19] Speaker B: Yeah. It just really seemed. Like I said, I've not just felt like there's a big separation about. Which sucks, because I really like him as a faction.
[00:15:26] Speaker A: And plus, let's be honest, Brody's probably the biggest star to come out of, like, the whole house of Black thing at this point.
[00:15:33] Speaker B: Yeah, he's getting big face reactions. And Julia is still kind of more on that heel side.
[00:15:39] Speaker A: Brody's just, like, in one of, like, the most over guys on the show.
[00:15:42] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:15:43] Speaker B: Even this match, very impressive. Crazy. I liked when they were coming out and, like, Bandito came out first, and then Brody came out and was doing the barks, and you see Bandito doing the bar, too. And I don't know why, but I found that very adorable.
[00:15:56] Speaker C: I Missed that. That's.
[00:15:58] Speaker B: Yeah, it was just real quick during the entries. Behind Brody. Like, I was like, oh, he supports it.
[00:16:04] Speaker C: Unfortunately, Bandito does take the pin clean in the middle of the ring by Takeshita. One, two, three.
[00:16:12] Speaker A: Your future Ring of Honor world champion, Konosuke Takeshita, AKA my kayfabe husband.
[00:16:19] Speaker B: My personal.
I don't think Takeshita is winning the bout, though, because he's going, right.
[00:16:24] Speaker A: He's winning the belt. He's going to bring home the purse and he's going to buy me a new dress.
[00:16:28] Speaker B: Well, he's going to go win the G1 and then he'll bring you the dress and this tro.
[00:16:32] Speaker A: No, then he's going to bring me like some, I don't know, Pokemon cards.
[00:16:35] Speaker C: I don't know.
And then they're going to get married right up into the sunset, and it's just going to be me and you, Jeff.
[00:16:40] Speaker A: We're all. Excuse you, we're already married.
[00:16:42] Speaker C: Oh, sorry, sorry, sorry I missed the wedding. I never got the invite. My apologies.
[00:16:47] Speaker A: It was quiet. Don't you remember? No, of course you don't.
[00:16:54] Speaker B: I did have another good Taz one in that where Don described Kyle. He said he's like a Greek God. And Taz goes, isn't he from Australia?
[00:17:03] Speaker A: This is a pause.
[00:17:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:05] Speaker A: They ignore it.
[00:17:07] Speaker B: And then.
[00:17:13] Speaker A: Yes, he is. Taz, I was listening to you.
[00:17:20] Speaker B: Yeah. Good batch. I thought that was very fun.
Yeah. And you get Lance Archer standing on the apron like a big old henchman, not doing anything.
[00:17:29] Speaker C: Still dressing like he's from 2004.
[00:17:33] Speaker A: Hell, yeah.
Nothing bad happened then.
[00:17:37] Speaker C: Especially not in wrestling.
[00:17:38] Speaker B: He's the guy in Blade at the. At the nightclub.
[00:17:43] Speaker A: There was another commentary line that I really liked was they said like, you've got like 80 of the guys in a Don Callis family. Don, he's like, yes, I could organize a work stoppage if I wanted to. I was like, you know what?
Hell yeah. Union strong. Don Callis. The gimmick I could get behind.
[00:18:01] Speaker B: I'd watch that.
[00:18:02] Speaker C: Yeah. Next up, we've got a quick little Outrunners promo.
[00:18:07] Speaker B: I did want to say the Outrunners versus FTR match on Collision before this was amazing. It was genuinely like one of the best tag team matches I've watched of the year.
[00:18:17] Speaker C: This is the first anything Outrunners I've actually seen because I not kept up with Collision or any of their other stuff, but just in that 30 second promo.
I get it.
[00:18:31] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:18:33] Speaker A: I've still got. I've still got my doubts that gimmick Works long term. But like those guys, those boys can work. Yeah, those young kids can work.
[00:18:40] Speaker B: The youngest men alive. But they're fun. They get over well. To me, to be honest, they hadn't really liked super wowed me until this last Saturday match. And I'm sure a lot of that match was FTR putting on just like, you know, tag team clinic. But the outrunners very much held their own in it, and I was very impressed.
[00:19:00] Speaker C: It takes two to tango. Well, I guess four to ten in this case.
[00:19:03] Speaker B: Yeah. That's a big angle.
[00:19:05] Speaker A: And like, ftr, I. FTR clearly likes those guys. Oh, yeah.
[00:19:09] Speaker B: They're all throwbacks. They're just like, they're heels from the 80s and faces from the 80s and.
[00:19:13] Speaker C: You can switch them interchangeably.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: Exactly. Then does it go right to that's. Yeah. FTR in the patriarchy. There's a lot of FTR in this little bit.
[00:19:21] Speaker C: It's like outrunners to set up an Outrunner's Jet Speed vs. FTR Patriarchy match on collision into the FTR Patriarchy promo, where they talk about scratching each other's backs and looking out for each other, and Stoke is like, let's see how things go.
[00:19:38] Speaker A: Which is smart.
[00:19:39] Speaker B: I very much enjoyed Stokely grabbing Christian's hand and making him shake his hand.
That's.
Oh, it's dope. Like, I felt like he is such a just perfect addition to aew.
I missed he was gone.
[00:19:52] Speaker C: I wish we would see more of him every week instead of just little snippets of him.
[00:19:58] Speaker B: Yeah. And I'm for the him and the FTR pairing. I think they work very well together. But, yeah, get him on tv. That dude makes me laugh.
[00:20:06] Speaker C: After that, we get another bald individual.
Ricochet versus Blake. Christian and I highlight the baldness because there's a serious issue that we need to talk about in AEW right now, and it's bald profiling.
Bald profiling is a serious issue not only in aew, but around the world in our daily lives.
It affects our family, friends, even you, dear listener.
Which is why we here at Wednesday Night Fake Fights have set up the Bald Attack legal defense as a support system and legal counsel for anyone who has been the subject of bald profiling.

We're here to make life as smooth as you are.
And now, please Enjoy more Wednesday night. F.
[00:21:31] Speaker B: That's one of my tases.
He sounds so hurt when he says it.
[00:21:39] Speaker C: Profiling. It's kind of sad.
[00:21:41] Speaker B: Yeah. Something I felt with.
[00:21:44] Speaker A: I mean, he shot at him, too.
[00:21:48] Speaker C: Everybody did.
[00:21:49] Speaker A: What did. He said he's got it. I didn't actually hear what he said. He's got a head shaped like a. And I didn't hear what he said.
[00:21:54] Speaker C: I listened eight. Like, eight. Eight times, and I could not.
[00:21:57] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:59] Speaker A: He said, like, it sounded like he said, like, a gaboots or what is that?
[00:22:03] Speaker B: Yeah, it might be a little Italian.
[00:22:05] Speaker C: Yeah. I was like, all right, Taz. I don't know if I'm allowed to say that.
[00:22:09] Speaker B: So there was some funny ball stuff in this one. There's a.
During the commercial break, there's a point where Ricochet is getting into an argument with Rick Knox, and he calls Rick Knox bald. And Rick Knox goes, I don't care. You're bald as well.
[00:22:25] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:22:28] Speaker B: Delivery of it just killed me.
[00:22:30] Speaker C: I do like, Blake Christian just slapping the. Out of Ricochet's bald ass head.
[00:22:36] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, that's great.
[00:22:38] Speaker A: Like, Ricochet must have said, like, go for it. This is gold.
[00:22:42] Speaker B: I feel like this. They're trying to get. They're working on that Blake Christian face turn.
[00:22:46] Speaker A: They really were. I was surprised. Same work in babyface here.
[00:22:50] Speaker B: Yeah. And it kind of didn't land.
I mean, like, the match itself was good, but I feel like the audience and the crowd did not know exactly how to react to it because, like, we've been doing Blake four weeks now.
[00:23:01] Speaker C: I felt like that about the audience a lot on this show.
[00:23:05] Speaker B: There was points. Yeah.
[00:23:07] Speaker C: They just kind of weren't. Like, they were into certain things, but other stuff. Like, things were happening, and they were not reacting well.
[00:23:17] Speaker B: Like, we'll get into, like, with the women's match at the start. Yeah, the women brought him back eventually. But, like, it started off, but it also. There's some awkward stuff here. Like I said, this is kind of this match. And even the next segment with the hurts indicate, like, tonally feel off. Like I said, with Blake Christian suddenly just working, and he's trying to get over with his big, flippy baby face moves. But it just feels weird.
[00:23:43] Speaker A: I mean, it's gonna take some time.
[00:23:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:23:45] Speaker A: In that regard.
[00:23:46] Speaker B: But I'm not saying I'm against it.
[00:23:48] Speaker A: Like, I don't know. Like, I prefer Blake as a face. He's just.
He's just gotta develop an actual personality a little bit and, like, work on that into the babyface angle, because like, the crowd popped for his little middle rope flippy dive.
It popped for his big corner kick in the back of the head. Like they, they were, you know, they.
[00:24:12] Speaker B: Were into him and it got better as it went along. And I'm for it.
[00:24:15] Speaker C: Just can't force it.
[00:24:17] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's early days, if this is the first time. And that's not saying it's bad. Just noting that it was definitely a factor with this one.
Yeah, Blake did some cool stuff.
[00:24:27] Speaker C: Unfortunately, did not get the win as the gates of agony come out and distract Slash interact with Blake walking off.
[00:24:38] Speaker B: The backs of the gates of agony.
[00:24:40] Speaker C: That was cool.
[00:24:42] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that popped the crowd, too.
[00:24:43] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. That's the stuff. That's what's going to work for him to get over into this face role.
That, like, cool, inventive stuff he can do. Yeah, it's just I. I fear for a Sammy Guevara situation where they're just trying to make him a face and it just does not take because of people's perceptions.
[00:25:02] Speaker C: I did like Ricochet's shit talking at the end of the match, though. Oh, yeah, that was fun.
[00:25:08] Speaker A: Ricochet, I thought, was a little bit of a baby face because he did the Eagles chant in Texas.
I'm fine with that. I don't like those Cowboys people. I don't know where they are in Texas, how close they are to Dallas, but close enough. They were unhappy about that.
[00:25:25] Speaker B: Are the Astros still a team? Is that Houston maybe? I don't know.
[00:25:30] Speaker A: Yeah. All right. So, yeah, they're in Houston. All right. So they're not near Dallas. All right. Yeah. Never mind. I don't know why they're mad.
[00:25:35] Speaker B: Then.
[00:25:36] Speaker A: Calm down.
[00:25:37] Speaker C: Nobody likes the Eagles in Texas. I think so that's fine.
[00:25:41] Speaker A: We're better than them.
[00:25:44] Speaker C: After that, we get the backstage promo with the Hurt Syndicate almost at the Hurt Locker again. But MJF says that it's not going to be a one on one in his little talky talk with Mark Briscoe coming up. But unfortunately, the tag team champions have to go for a tag team champion photo shoot.
So they leave MJF in this promo, go around the corner and gasp. Their belts gone. Oh, my God.
What the. But what's this? A message on the whiteboard?
[00:26:19] Speaker B: Well, that mystery was solved.
[00:26:21] Speaker C: Jet Speed stole the belts and yeah.
[00:26:23] Speaker B: It was a little note.
[00:26:25] Speaker C: It was cute, the whiteboard bit. But yeah.
[00:26:28] Speaker B: And I love Jet Speed, but I don't know, it's just not.
[00:26:34] Speaker A: This didn't bother me that much because they're trying their Best to like, actually get under the Hurt Syndicate skin here.
[00:26:41] Speaker B: Yeah. And I like what it led to. Like. Yes.
Be getting the jump on them and turning around and everything. I mean, that's. Yeah, it's just to be. I don't know. The whiteboard things drive a little. Is bit cheesy, but I love those guys.
[00:26:54] Speaker A: Yeah, the. The whiteboard's goofy, but like, the. Like, we're taking where the faces are stealing the heels belts because they're punk bitches by an angle, in my book.
[00:27:03] Speaker B: Yeah. And they're getting it back, which is nice to see. Those guys have just been getting the shit whipped out of them for like the last two weeks.
[00:27:09] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:27:09] Speaker C: That leaves MJF all alone while they go to hunt for their championship belts. Before we go to the talkie talk, we have a expertly crafted Okada V Omega video package.
[00:27:23] Speaker B: Really did a good job, like, laying out the history and just looked amazing. Felt really cool.
[00:27:30] Speaker A: And they really did highlight how Don Callis is like the constant thread.
[00:27:35] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:27:36] Speaker A: In the whole thing.
Because he's been there. He's been there, though. Not the whole time. He wasn't there. I think the first Omega Okada match.
[00:27:44] Speaker B: Yeah, not at that point. I think not the very first one, but he came in pretty quick after that because he was trying. He was doing commentary in New Japan at the time and everything too. So it was pretty. He might have been there from the start.
[00:27:56] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:27:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Don Scar continues to get more prominent. Like I thought they. Literally every time I see him, that thing is like darker and deeper looking.
Yeah.
[00:28:07] Speaker A: That primer ruled.
[00:28:08] Speaker B: You know, those guys are gonna like, really put it all line too. There's not gonna be any half ass of this.
[00:28:15] Speaker C: Nope.
[00:28:16] Speaker B: And now it's time for the talkie talk.
[00:28:19] Speaker C: The talky talk. Let's.
[00:28:20] Speaker A: Let's the talkie talk.
[00:28:22] Speaker C: Let's talk. You talk about the talkie talk.
[00:28:25] Speaker B: Lots of pickle signs.
[00:28:26] Speaker C: Lots of pickle signs.
[00:28:27] Speaker A: Let me turn my chair around so we can talk. We can rap about the talky talk. You know who else had a talkie talk in the desert?
[00:28:37] Speaker C: The man, jc.
I had a dick joke count written down. And surprisingly, Mark did not constitute a lot of those. It was pretty much all the chance and the signs that got me up to like 12. But golly Bob howdy, there sure were a lot of MJF pickle signs.
[00:28:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:28:58] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. That's weird. It.
[00:29:01] Speaker C: It is. This whole segment was unnecessary.
[00:29:07] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm glad they did move on from the dog from the pickle stuff. But this Ended up being kind of up.
[00:29:14] Speaker C: Yeah. Like, hey, they moved on. Nickel stuff. Let's talk about your dead brother.
[00:29:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:29:18] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:29:19] Speaker B: Pretty big one.
[00:29:20] Speaker C: That's where you want to go with this?
[00:29:22] Speaker A: I. I don't have a problem with it.
[00:29:24] Speaker B: No.
[00:29:25] Speaker A: Honestly. Because you know, Mark.
Mark signed. Must have signed off on like anything that they were going to say.
[00:29:32] Speaker C: I hope so.
[00:29:32] Speaker A: Yeah. And. And like everybody knew going into this that, that MJF was going to say something about Jay and it ended up being really up and like the whole like it should have been you in the car.
[00:29:46] Speaker C: Yeah, that's.
[00:29:47] Speaker A: That's up.
But there's this.
[00:29:52] Speaker B: There's a straddling of the line.
[00:29:54] Speaker A: It was a straddling. Yes.
[00:29:55] Speaker C: Yeah, I think that's a good word for it.
[00:29:57] Speaker B: I mean, if I can be okay with a Luke Perry storyline after he died. I guess, like.
[00:30:02] Speaker C: That's true.
That's true.
[00:30:05] Speaker B: It's a weird but. Yeah.
[00:30:07] Speaker A: But the thing, the thing that I'm concerned about is that if Mark or MJF don't win the casino gauntlet, then.
[00:30:18] Speaker C: Why'D we do this?
[00:30:19] Speaker A: Almost the entire build for the casino gauntlet has been this.
[00:30:23] Speaker C: Yeah, that's true.
[00:30:24] Speaker B: But I honest, I don't think they're going to. I think they're gonna have maybe a dog collar match or like fight without honor at all out.
[00:30:33] Speaker A: I think they'll definitely have a singles match after another way.
[00:30:36] Speaker C: But.
[00:30:36] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, they don't need to challenge. Right. At all.
[00:30:40] Speaker C: Yeah. You can have one of them win. Like have MJF win in a fluke. Mark challenge him for his number one contender spot at the next pay per view and go from there in some kind of.
[00:30:51] Speaker B: I do feel if you're bringing Jay and if you're going this route with it, the blow off is gonna have to be like crazy.
[00:30:58] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:30:59] Speaker B: Like this has to be Mark Briscoe the Maniac doing his crazy.
[00:31:05] Speaker C: That's the kind of you bring for like a big championship match, not a multi man gauntlet match. Yeah, right.
[00:31:14] Speaker A: Like this.
This felt like this had like the impact they were going for when Jericho brought up Jay.
When Jericho was feuding with Mark.
[00:31:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I forgot about that.
[00:31:27] Speaker A: This was like going for that. But like it actually makes sense a little bit more because MJF is like, yeah, I know who the Jay Briscoe is. I'm a wrestling fan. I grew up a wrestling fan.
[00:31:38] Speaker B: Yeah. And then he just propped Jay up a bunch, you know?
[00:31:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:31:41] Speaker B: About Jay, it was. I'm for. I'm willing to see where it's mjf. His whole thing is to be the most heinous person.
[00:31:50] Speaker A: Yep. I felt like he actually pulled it off as opposed to like most of the time when he's just like, I'm rich, you're poor.
I don't give a about anything but myself.
[00:32:01] Speaker C: Yeah. It started there and got got personal.
[00:32:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. And I mean it. Mark, you know, jumped him at just the right time. Went crazy on his ass.
[00:32:12] Speaker C: Everything breaks down, her syndicate comes out.
They get jumped by Jetspeed with the belts. They found their belts, but they also found the Patriarchy coming out and kicking the leg out of. Or excuse me, cheering the leg out of Bobby Lashley's leg.
[00:32:33] Speaker B: But that's where to me the crowd reaction again got a little weird because it's like Jetspeed and the Patriarchy are attacking the Hurt Syndicate at the same time. It's like they're tight. Like there's full on heels and faces getting over at that same moment.
[00:32:48] Speaker C: It was a fun beat down segment.
[00:32:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:32:51] Speaker C: But it, it. Yeah. The crowd's favoritism and interest was. Was kind of off on this segment as well.
[00:32:58] Speaker B: It says and same like the Hurt Syndicate's another one of those where, where even are they kind of on that alignment scale. They really are.
[00:33:05] Speaker A: They're very weird.
[00:33:07] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:33:07] Speaker A: Because they're people like.
[00:33:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:33:11] Speaker A: People love them.
[00:33:11] Speaker B: The chance are wildly over people. But MJF's a complete asshole.
[00:33:17] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. And so kind of sets the needle back to neutral.
[00:33:21] Speaker B: Yeah. But I'm still excited for this match. I think it's good.
[00:33:24] Speaker A: It'll be fine. I think I would be more interested in it if the way the build has worked. If it was still like a one on one tag match.
[00:33:32] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:33:33] Speaker B: Yeah. The patriarchy feels tagged on, tacked on.
[00:33:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Like I don't, I don't understand why they're there. I feel like they probably. If they wanted to have Christian Cage on there with Nick Wayne, they could have had a singles match somewhere on the card.
[00:33:49] Speaker B: Yeah, I've heard that. I guess the big thing, Christian wants to finish out his storyline with Nick Wayne like get him over really big and then wants to reunite with Edged out and I guess, right. This is the plan. Like them to be tag team champions together and then like a turning or something like that.
Yeah. It doesn't feel necessary to have the tag titles involved.
[00:34:10] Speaker C: No.
And if you're gonna add those guys and you might as well, like Stoke said, get FTR in the mix and just make it a. An eight man.
[00:34:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:18] Speaker C: That would actually four way tag Match.
[00:34:20] Speaker A: Put them on, put them, hang them from the ring, over the ring, have a ladder match.
[00:34:24] Speaker C: Everybody loves it.
[00:34:25] Speaker A: Although I can have a guess they're not doing a ladder match and it's because the Texas Death is gonna be fucking insane.
[00:34:30] Speaker B: Yeah, there's already a big like plunder step coming on and like those three, like they're all good teams. I'm sure the match they put on will probably be exciting as hell. Have some crazy stuff. And Shelton Benjamin looking amazing. I mean Bobby too actually. They're both like almost 50.
[00:34:45] Speaker C: They. I, I had to look it up because I was like how I watched these guys when I was a child.
[00:34:51] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:53] Speaker C: They look the same.
[00:34:55] Speaker B: Yeah, it's, it is impressive. Exact same as he did in like team angle back in like 2002.
No sense.
[00:35:04] Speaker C: We alluded to it earlier. The next match is the four way women's match for the gauntlet number two spot. Don't forget it's just as important as spot number one. But they don't want to tell you that it is Megan Bain and Tekla and Queen Aminata and Ty Melo.
[00:35:21] Speaker B: Which good matchup. I mean I like all these people.
Tekla's entrance rules.
[00:35:28] Speaker C: Yes. Yes.
[00:35:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:35:30] Speaker A: Tecla feels like a star right away.
[00:35:32] Speaker C: Absolutely.
[00:35:32] Speaker B: Yeah, she got more but then like.
[00:35:35] Speaker A: So did Megan Bain and look how good she's turned out. Yeah.
[00:35:38] Speaker C: So I wanted to like this match a lot more than I did.
[00:35:43] Speaker B: Yeah, that's fair.
[00:35:44] Speaker C: I had high hopes and it just, it felt very stilted the entire time.
[00:35:51] Speaker B: Yeah, there is some awkwardness in here. Some cool stuff but yeah, it just never really flowed quite the way it probably should have.
[00:36:00] Speaker A: Yeah, it was a bit dis. I think that's the word for it.
[00:36:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:04] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:05] Speaker B: But nobody really did like a particularly bad job. Like they kept the Queen Aminata feud going with like vicious ass hitting. Tamello's like very over.
She's a fun, energetic like character and Megan Payne throws people around. But yeah, nothing really like click the way a good multi person match should.
[00:36:25] Speaker C: No. And the, the crowd again for this one just like at the start was not there at all.
[00:36:32] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, they died. Yeah.
[00:36:34] Speaker A: At the start of it. It was kind of, it was really awkward honestly.
[00:36:38] Speaker B: And they, they came back. I think about the time Megan Bane did that like where she threw. Was it thec. Over the rope.
[00:36:44] Speaker C: Oh yeah.
[00:36:44] Speaker A: Because she like pitched her.
[00:36:47] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, and this match did have my taz of the week as another commentary one where.
[00:36:52] Speaker A: Oh, it had mine too.
[00:36:56] Speaker C: It's the only star I have on the Taz line in my notes. So I believe I would say this is mine as well.
[00:37:01] Speaker B: Yeah.
They go to commercial and Queen Aminata just done the chocolate kisses as she has so wished it to be called the Butt Ram move.
And they. During the commercial break, Tekla gets control, does it back to Queen Aminata and Taz goes, Spider Ass Jones.
[00:37:21] Speaker A: Well, you gotta. There's even more setup to this because Tony. Tony breaks the news that the Ass Head scissors thing is. He's like. She wants it called chocolate kisses. And he sounds like very. He's like apologetic about it.
[00:37:37] Speaker B: He specifically wants Tony to call it that.
[00:37:39] Speaker C: I've been told to let you all know.
[00:37:41] Speaker A: And then Tekla does it. Tecla Tekla does it. And there's like a pause and somebody says, what do you call that?
And then Taz comes right in with Spider Ass Jones.
And then commentary just dies.
[00:37:59] Speaker B: Yeah, that's my Taz of the week right there.
[00:38:01] Speaker C: Yeah, that was. That was great.
[00:38:03] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. Tied it all together.
[00:38:06] Speaker A: This also did have my number one thing that I hated the crowd for, which was. I'm fairly certain somebody shouted, show your tits.
[00:38:13] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:38:14] Speaker C: Oh, I missed that. That. I heard a lot of. A lot of crowd. Like one specific person was really like picking up throughout the evening, but I missed.
[00:38:23] Speaker B: Yeah, that was one moment I remember, like somebody got slammed on the outside and some of my was like, should I go hit her too?
[00:38:30] Speaker A: Yes. Oh, yeah, that was at.
What's her name? That was at Marina.
[00:38:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, it was Marina. Yeah. Hello, Texas.
[00:38:39] Speaker A: Which, like, that's fine. Shouting, show your tits at a wedding.
[00:38:42] Speaker C: No, no, that 2025 is not. Whoever did that.
[00:38:45] Speaker B: Yep. They should be ejected immediate.
[00:38:49] Speaker C: Megan Bain can personally kick their ass out the door, as she did with a running power bomb to win this match and become the number two entrant for the Women's Gone.
[00:39:01] Speaker B: I think the right choice.
Her and style will tear it up. And now they can do, like, a really cool entrance for Megan Baines. Like, I think it would be a very good start.
[00:39:10] Speaker A: And then she debuted in a casino gauntlet, I believe. I forget what show that was, but that was how she made her debut.
[00:39:16] Speaker B: Yeah.
Yep. I'm sure you're right. I like that big running power bomb she does too.
[00:39:22] Speaker A: That thing is sick.
[00:39:23] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:39:23] Speaker A: Running light. I guess it's a bomb because she sits out with it.
[00:39:26] Speaker B: Yep. My big hope is now that Bozilla is in stardom, we can get Bozilla vs Megan Bane at some point. Battle the giant ladies.
[00:39:36] Speaker A: That's right. I forgot Bozilla joined stardom.
[00:39:38] Speaker B: Yeah. Crossover Forbidden Door.
[00:39:40] Speaker A: Let's go.
Large women doing large women shit.
[00:39:45] Speaker B: And they throw in a little solemn thing about the Texas floods.
Thoughts and prayers and all that. Yeah.
[00:39:53] Speaker C: After that, there's a very.
I don't even think you can call it Tekla promo backstage before she gets jumped by Queen Aminata.
[00:40:04] Speaker B: And I like, you can hear Queen Aminata coming for five seconds. She's yelling.
[00:40:15] Speaker A: Let'S go. She came flying.
[00:40:17] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I do like their little rivalry they're building just on, like whooping each other's asses.
I like the Queen Anna's gotten over, like so well too, just being like an in ring talent. Like, she just has been good and it's paid off so well.
[00:40:32] Speaker C: That was the first match of hers I saw.
[00:40:34] Speaker A: If you do good strikes, if you can do good strikes, you will get over.
[00:40:38] Speaker C: Yeah, that was. That was the big thing I took away was like, wow, she kicks people very well. And Yep. Looks very, very nasty when she does that. I like that.
[00:40:48] Speaker A: She's gotten so good.
[00:40:50] Speaker B: Yep. She's very pretty lady, too.
[00:40:52] Speaker A: And she's pretty lady.
[00:40:56] Speaker C: Their scuffle is interrupted by.
How do you call this?
SSJ or Mark Brisco comes in and.
[00:41:06] Speaker B: This actually made the whole talky talk, this part here.
[00:41:10] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. This is what I want. This is why I love Mark Briscoe as a talker.
[00:41:15] Speaker B: He went full on gibberish.
I was just dying.
[00:41:20] Speaker C: So he's. He is going to be all out at all in.
[00:41:23] Speaker A: He's going to go balls deep on.
[00:41:25] Speaker B: MJF and kill Don Vito for a minute there.
[00:41:29] Speaker A: Yeah, he really did. He's just like, I knew that you were gonna say something about fired up. I'm gonna kill you.
[00:41:38] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:41:39] Speaker C: All right.
[00:41:40] Speaker B: You know, I love that.
[00:41:41] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:41:42] Speaker B: I was like, all right.
[00:41:43] Speaker A: No, I can't wait for that. Yes, it did.
[00:41:47] Speaker C: It did pay off. It did pay off.
After that, we get Samoa Joe versus Wheeler Huda, which was a very fun match. I have not seen a Samoa Joe singles match in a minute and I forgot how much I love Samoa Joe.
[00:42:02] Speaker B: Yep, he's amazing.
[00:42:03] Speaker A: God, you're good.
[00:42:05] Speaker B: I love that the person with the shaggy dog sign in the crowd where it was Yuta in between two pictures of shaggy dogs, it said, which one's Wheeler? Or something like that.
And it generally was hard to tell.
[00:42:20] Speaker C: You had a get a haircut chant from the crowd.
[00:42:23] Speaker A: Yep. It was another sign that was like a barber pole. And then next to it was like, yes, we're open for Wheeler Yuta.
[00:42:30] Speaker B: Also with the haircut chant, one of my. Probably my second choice for Taz ism was Taz going, They're obsessed with hair in this part of Texas. It's a cow thing.
[00:42:44] Speaker A: I had that one written down too.
[00:42:46] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:42:48] Speaker B: It'S hard. This is hard to pick every week.
There's too many.
[00:42:52] Speaker A: I thought. I think. I think Spider Ass Jones wins.
[00:42:55] Speaker C: But like, yeah, yeah. Spider Ass Jones, I think is.
Is this week's Taz of the week.
We've got plenty of honorable mentions this go round.
[00:43:04] Speaker A: Oh, dear.
[00:43:07] Speaker B: I will say, in this match, Yuta had a very cool thing where he got on the top rope and did it like, I think it was a drop kick or something at Joe. And Joe did his walk spot, but Yuta lands on his feet and then gets up and rakes Joe's eyes, faking out the fake out spot. It's like, that was a cool little, like, variation on. I love the walk away spot, but it was nice to see somebody do something different with it.
[00:43:31] Speaker C: And then there was the outside, the ring walk away spot where Joe didn't even realize Yuta's jumping at him. And he just, like, got his head. He's like, ah.
And walks off. And Yuta jumps, misses. Joe turns around, sees him on the ground, like, looks up to the sky, like, where the fuck did he come from? Looks back down, looks back up again. And then just.
[00:43:56] Speaker A: Yeah, the whole. The whole opening sequence with Yuta was awesome because he goes like, all right, let's do a test of strength. Loses. And then Joe starts punching him.
[00:44:08] Speaker B: That was great.
[00:44:08] Speaker A: So like, so punches him. After he gets punched, he covers up and then he looks and Joe punches him again.
And then they do the walk away spot on the outside. It's like, this is like the perfect, like, little.
[00:44:21] Speaker B: He's a good stooge. Like, he really knows how to play that role.
[00:44:24] Speaker C: Yeah. Those little subtle, subtle interactions from Joe really, really make the match.
[00:44:31] Speaker B: I'm excited for the next season of Twisted Metal too. Come on, Joe.
Sweet Tooth in the rain.
It's a pretty okay show. The first season was fun.
[00:44:41] Speaker C: That's what I heard. I haven't checked it out, but Joe is the top reason for me to watch it.
[00:44:47] Speaker B: Yeah. And Will Arnett's the voice, but Joe's the body. And I mean, he does play response. What?
[00:44:52] Speaker A: Oh, yeah.
[00:44:53] Speaker C: You didn't know that?
[00:44:54] Speaker B: Yeah, but it's surprising. It works surprisingly well.
He does not sound like Will Arnett. Sounds surprisingly like medicine. And it looks just natural.
[00:45:06] Speaker C: All right, all right, all right. We got this idea. So you know Sweet Tooth from twisted metal, right?
[00:45:12] Speaker A: No, but keep going.
[00:45:13] Speaker C: Oh, you don't. Okay, so think, think a clown.
[00:45:16] Speaker A: Oh, no, I do.
[00:45:17] Speaker C: Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay.
[00:45:19] Speaker A: I do.
[00:45:19] Speaker C: I do.
[00:45:19] Speaker A: I'm playing the person that doesn't know.
[00:45:21] Speaker C: Who sweet tooth is. Okay, so he's a clown, but he's got a head of fire. And we're going to have Samoa Joe play him.
[00:45:28] Speaker A: Awesome. Sounds cool.
[00:45:29] Speaker C: And Will announce to be the voice.
[00:45:31] Speaker B: Yeah. Job from Arrested Development.
They should have honestly just had Will or not be the body.
Sweets would have been much funnier as like a scrawny little white dude.
[00:45:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:45:42] Speaker B: With his head on fire.
Speaking of weird heads, Gabe Kidd comes out.
[00:45:48] Speaker C: Yep. That's. That is after Joe chokes out Yuta. Yuta tries to go for a roll up. Joe rolls out of it, chokes him out, wins, gets jumped by Gabe Kidd. And then it's just a scuffle between the between the Ops to scare off Gabe Kidd real quickly before their match flowed nice into the the main event here with the eight man tag.
[00:46:10] Speaker B: I guess Gabe is filling in for Pack in the trio's match on Saturday.
[00:46:16] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:46:17] Speaker B: Yeah, I think that's. I think I saw that Announced that he's gonna be the third person since back. It's back. Yes. It's still out with injury.
[00:46:24] Speaker A: I haven't seen anything announced anything new announced yet. I guess they're probably doing stuff right now with the collision going on.
[00:46:30] Speaker B: Oh, that's a very good possibility.
It might just be rumors, but I imagine that's where this is leading to.
[00:46:35] Speaker A: I mean we're probably going to see a lot more Gabe kid leaning into Forbidden Door.
[00:46:39] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:46:39] Speaker A: Especially if it's just gonna be a thing.
[00:46:41] Speaker B: Betty comes back, thoughts and prayers.
[00:46:43] Speaker A: Please come back back. Yeah, I don't want to watch Eddie's.
[00:46:48] Speaker B: My big like hope for the gauntlet like surprise. And then have him versus Gabe at Forbidden Door since Gabe's the one who injured him.
[00:46:57] Speaker C: That could work.
[00:46:58] Speaker B: Yeah. That's why I just miss Eddie Kingston so bad.
Yeah.
[00:47:06] Speaker C: Well, hey, who knows who we'll see on Saturday.
[00:47:09] Speaker A: We'll see. We'll find out. Yes, we will tune in Saturday.
[00:47:13] Speaker B: Well, you know, we'll see everybody in this main event.
[00:47:16] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:47:17] Speaker A: Oh yeah.
[00:47:17] Speaker C: All of those gentlemen will be all over that card. You've got a nice eight to man tag between the rest of the Ops, Hobbs and Shibata alongside Will Ospreay and Hangman Adam Page against the Young Bucks and the rest of the Deathriders which are Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli.
I don't know about the jacket.
[00:47:44] Speaker B: Yeah. With the Warhammer scrolls.
[00:47:46] Speaker C: Is that what it was?
[00:47:48] Speaker B: Yeah, it is.
[00:47:49] Speaker A: Yeah. He's a space Marine.
[00:47:50] Speaker B: Yep. The Warhammer 40K, they were like prayer scrolls on their armor before they go out to missions.
[00:47:56] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:47:56] Speaker C: Now that's cool. That's awesome.
[00:47:59] Speaker B: Yep, he's a big old nerd.
[00:48:00] Speaker A: What you're. Yeah, you're writing what your mission is and what your duty is before you go into battle. And like, he's added to that jacket this entire.
[00:48:09] Speaker B: Yeah, it was just like one on the shoulder and I was like, he's covered.
[00:48:13] Speaker C: That's all right. That's cool as. Never mind. Claudio.
[00:48:15] Speaker B: You keep you outside of the context of that, it's a little weird, but. Yeah, no, he's a big old him.
[00:48:20] Speaker A: And every time he wears. Every time he wears that jacket, somebody's like, what is he?
[00:48:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:48:25] Speaker A: What does that mean?
[00:48:25] Speaker C: Yeah, I know, I know. Zero Warhammer anything. So that. That makes sense now.
[00:48:32] Speaker B: I like wrestlers being nerd.
[00:48:33] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:48:34] Speaker B: The little passions shine through, like, oh.
[00:48:37] Speaker A: You'Re real, you little nerds.
[00:48:38] Speaker B: Yeah.
Yeah. Shannon Baszler, she always wore like Warhammer themed gear. Like color schemes from different space marine chapters and stuff.
[00:48:48] Speaker C: Yeah, it's pretty standard. Antman tag, everybody.
Much like the match earlier in the evening. Everybody got their stuff in.
[00:48:59] Speaker B: Yeah. Osprey starts off really hot. Just doing crazy shit for a minute. Hangman does that big old moving salt.
[00:49:04] Speaker A: To the outside that the match felt. The entrances of the match felt bigger than the match itself.
[00:49:11] Speaker C: Yeah, that's fair.
[00:49:13] Speaker A: Like, the ops didn't really get an entrance, unfortunately. But like, Osprey comes out to a big reaction. Hangman comes out to a big reaction. The Bucks come out to like a big reaction. Death Riders come out and it's like. It felt like big match, but like perfunctory to me.
Yeah, I mean, like, nobody, like, nobody's trying to get hurt.
[00:49:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a couple days before the show. There's cool spots. I mean, fun stuff.
[00:49:38] Speaker A: They got their in. Yeah.
[00:49:40] Speaker B: But yeah, nothing was amazing, in my opinion.
[00:49:43] Speaker C: It was. It was a vehicle to get to the. The final segment, which the match was not.
It was a fun match. The Bulldog choke wins it for the heels. All hell breaks loose. The chains are out again. The plastic bags are out again.
All but choking out Hangman and Osprey before we cut to who's missing in this whole equation.
[00:50:10] Speaker B: I know. I said that like Mickey Mouse, man.
[00:50:14] Speaker C: I thought it was an owl swerve. Strickland is outside in construction equipment.
[00:50:28] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:50:29] Speaker B: I wonder what he could be doing.
He got a good little promo in there.
[00:50:36] Speaker A: Yeah, that was a good promo. I like that little bit.
[00:50:39] Speaker B: Yep.
[00:50:40] Speaker C: And then the limo eats. Shit.
[00:50:42] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:50:43] Speaker A: That thing broke so good.
[00:50:45] Speaker B: Yeah, it's cool. This to me, I wrote this as classic wrestling ball. It's silly. It's big spectacle stuff. Good, good reaction from the crowd.
[00:50:54] Speaker C: As soon as we saw a specialized heel vehicle, you knew something bad was going to happen to it.
[00:51:01] Speaker A: I give them credit for not destroying it last week. Like, they.
The limo had a storyline.
[00:51:08] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:51:08] Speaker C: I was not expecting to see it at the.
Earlier in the show. I was like, oh, wow. They kept it.
And then they did not, in fact get to keep it.
[00:51:16] Speaker A: They drove that limo all the way from Francho Cucamonga last week to Texas.
[00:51:22] Speaker C: Oh, God.
Probably thousands of dollars of gas.
[00:51:26] Speaker B: Just that thing with the stupid details of that Truckers. We're gonna have to kill these guys.
[00:51:35] Speaker A: All right. I don't. I hate being a stereotypical southerner.
These guys gotta die.
[00:51:44] Speaker B: A remake of Duel starring the young bucks.
I'd watch that actually.
[00:51:51] Speaker A: Yes.
The young bucks in their limo with the. With the. The big rig driver.
[00:51:59] Speaker B: Yeah. It was a fun segment. I thought, it's cool.
We all. Everything's sad. Everything now is just kind of like getting to the pay per view, doing some fun stuff in the meantime.
[00:52:09] Speaker C: I did like, cut back to the ring. Mox is about to eat a buckshot lariat. Claudio runs in uppercuts. Hangman. Hangman no sells it. Still gives him a lariat and is just staring down Mox in the middle of the ring before Marina's like, hey, get out of there.
[00:52:29] Speaker B: I like that. I was like, that's what Marina's for. So she's very good in that sense.
[00:52:33] Speaker C: Into to mocks before he does something he's going to regret before Saturday.
[00:52:37] Speaker B: She's his, like, his like little advisor. Second, like, it works very well for me.
[00:52:42] Speaker A: Craig was nuclear for this.
[00:52:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
Once the limo got. They were all on board.
[00:52:49] Speaker A: There's a very prominent if Hangman loses, we riot sign.
[00:52:53] Speaker C: I did see that one.
[00:52:55] Speaker A: It'd be funny if they actually did riot a few days.
[00:52:58] Speaker B: I don't think that's gonna happen.
[00:53:01] Speaker A: Dark day for pro wrestling.
[00:53:02] Speaker B: Well, they did back outside after this too.
[00:53:06] Speaker C: Yes. Nana spawns in.
[00:53:12] Speaker B: A wild nana appearance.
[00:53:14] Speaker C: Pretty much. They just turn around, Nana's there, and he's like, the sun will come out tomorrow, my friends. And they're like, what? And then they turn around, swerve Hops off yet another piece of construction equipment. Hits him with the double stomp and then yells, I found the fathers.
[00:53:29] Speaker B: And that was good.
[00:53:31] Speaker C: That's the show.
[00:53:32] Speaker B: Yeah. Fun little end.
[00:53:34] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:53:35] Speaker B: One little show.
[00:53:35] Speaker C: I think it did a great job kind of driving everything towards the all in here in a couple of days.
[00:53:42] Speaker B: It was what it needed to be.
[00:53:44] Speaker A: I thought I was thinking about it before I actually watched the show about how like go home shows don't really exist in modern wrestling because.
[00:53:54] Speaker B: Well, it's.
[00:53:55] Speaker A: If you're going to watch the show, like you're going to watch the show.
[00:53:58] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:53:58] Speaker A: Especially like the WWE Network for so long. Like you just pay 10 bucks and watch whatever the hell you wanted.
[00:54:05] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:06] Speaker B: And technically they're still a collision.
[00:54:07] Speaker A: This was like. Yeah, this. This felt like a proper go home show.
They sold you the big matches. They didn't give anything big away for free. Like there was like some fights between guys wrestling on Saturday. But like there was no, like nobody.
[00:54:23] Speaker B: Yeah. I like that with the limo thing. They again, did not have Swerve directly save Hangman. They're still. They're still saving that. Which I think is smart. That's going to be a huge problem. They do that during Texas.
[00:54:36] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:54:36] Speaker A: Yeah. They closed. They. They closed the show on Hangman staring down Mox as he's leaving. And then he turns around and sees Swerve at the.
At the entrance ramp with Osprey.
And he doesn't change his expression.
[00:54:52] Speaker B: It's such good storytelling. I love all of this.
[00:54:55] Speaker A: Good at this.
[00:54:56] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm. I cannot wait for all in. It's going to be. It's going to be a blast.
[00:55:03] Speaker A: I am properly teased. I'm ready for release. Let's go.
[00:55:08] Speaker B: Do we have any other hopeful predictions for the Gauntlet match matches? I should say.
[00:55:14] Speaker C: I.
This is the most watched most regularly I've watched AEW these last three shows for these last three episodes in like a year and a half. So I'm really tapped out and have no idea what to expect.
[00:55:27] Speaker B: That's fair. As I said, I do think we might see Jungle Boy back. I could see that happening if he's been gone for a while. Old Jack Perry. My hope for the women's. And it probably won't happen. But is Maki Ito showing?
[00:55:40] Speaker A: I think there's. I've heard rumors about Shayna Baszler.
[00:55:44] Speaker B: That would be bad.
[00:55:45] Speaker A: Shotzi Blackheart.
[00:55:46] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:55:47] Speaker A: Has been kicking around the Indies a lot lately.
[00:55:49] Speaker C: La Parka. I heard he might show up in the women's.
[00:55:53] Speaker A: In the women's Mystico's supposed to be.
[00:55:57] Speaker B: Yeah. Mystico's in the men's. Yeah, he's.
[00:56:00] Speaker C: They kept showing graphics for the men's gauntlet match and it's like number one, Mark Briscoe, number two, mjf. And Mystico's just back there like, hey, guys.
[00:56:11] Speaker B: And also Mystico's here. Yeah.
[00:56:14] Speaker C: But never mentioned it at all in the show.
[00:56:18] Speaker B: Yeah, he's in that graphic. And I assume they're doing like probably arc Briscoe vs. MJF and Mystico vs. MJF.
[00:56:26] Speaker A: I feel like I think that I've seen it.
What's the account name? Lucha Block. He's like, like, if you don't follow him and you want to know anything about Lucha libre in Mexico, you should follow him. He's a perfect resource. But he was saying that since they haven't brought up Mystico and MJF that much, he thinks that that feud is taking place in cml. Cml.
[00:56:52] Speaker B: That's very.
[00:56:52] Speaker A: So that would make sense if they. If they have a one on one, it's going to happen there so Mr. Joe can win.
[00:56:58] Speaker B: That makes more sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They got to blow that off though. I mean, that's just crazy not to. Yeah, yeah. Oh, no. I'm very excited for Saturday. There's not a match I don't look forward to. Like I said, almost everything feels like it's their real steps. There's cool like things happening. The only thing I feel like is kind of a given is Hangman winning. Who knows? Could be wrong on that again.
[00:57:20] Speaker C: There's. It's probably gonna happen, but. Yeah, might not.
[00:57:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:57:26] Speaker A: I saw MJ on Blue sky was like, I'm gonna be panicking until I hit. They see the, the three count counted and then I remembered it's a Texas death match and there's no three counts.
[00:57:41] Speaker B: Yep, true that. Yeah. Until Hangman's holding the belt, it is.
[00:57:46] Speaker C: Going to be a big old wrestling weekend and we will do our best to be here too.
[00:57:52] Speaker B: We are going to be watching and recording for it and putting it up somewhere.
[00:57:58] Speaker A: It'll be on the Patreon, I believe.
[00:58:01] Speaker C: Yeah. I think we're gonna try and do like a watch along recording. I don't know if y' all want to try and. And get together and do like a, a little recording like this.
Probably not post show but like in the next day or two after I'm just like, oh, let's gush about all in.
[00:58:20] Speaker B: Yeah, just do a short little. Yeah, I'm cool with that.
[00:58:22] Speaker A: We'll see what happens.
[00:58:23] Speaker C: We'll see what happens.
[00:58:24] Speaker A: It might be terrible. We might have to, like, come in and be like, guys, aw is dead.
[00:58:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:58:29] Speaker C: Show's over.
[00:58:30] Speaker B: We had a good time.
Stand for the Fed. Moxley wins.
This is gonna be Tuesday Night Fake Fights.
[00:58:37] Speaker C: Welcome to Monday Night Fake Fights. The modern era. We are talking about Monday Night Raw. In the year 2025, that CM Punk.
[00:58:44] Speaker A: Went through Slim Snap into a Slim Jim table.
[00:58:48] Speaker B: I do really want Slim Jim snap.
[00:58:50] Speaker C: Oh, I could snap into a Slim Jim. Now that you say that.
[00:58:54] Speaker B: No over here. But yeah, I would love to do a little recap or something in between the big show and when we record next week.
[00:58:59] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Wrestling.
[00:59:02] Speaker A: Don't hold us to that.
[00:59:03] Speaker B: Yeah, we'll see. Schedules and everything work out. Yeah.
[00:59:06] Speaker C: Either way, who knows what we're going to do. Even we don't know.
[00:59:10] Speaker B: Pumped to watch more wrestling, though. As always.
[00:59:12] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:59:13] Speaker A: Keep watching wrestling.
[00:59:14] Speaker B: Yeah. Forever and ever.
[00:59:17] Speaker C: Forever.
Forever.
Forever.
[00:59:23] Speaker B: Forever.
[00:59:37] Speaker A: Oh.
Oh.
[00:59:40] Speaker C: We left her in the closet.
[00:59:41] Speaker B: Really? There's not a lot of air in that closet.
[00:59:46] Speaker C: We gotta go check on Garrick because.
Thanks, everybody, for listening.
We'll be back next week.
[00:59:54] Speaker A: I'm glad we recorded our crimes.
[00:59:55] Speaker B: This is.
[00:59:56] Speaker C: This. This is all a big. Huh?
So it's a work it.
