Episode Transcript
[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void.
But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling.
And with that, there was Monday, and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages.
On the second day, God got depressed. And lo, did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday.
On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo, did the people reply unto her.
We know what that means.
[00:00:55] Speaker B: Go with a Eddie Kingston's enemies. Welcome back to Wednesday night fake fights. I, I, I, I, I tried to say enemies, and I went with an enemy. And that's also fine. It is I. Ella Taylor. What with the she and the hers. Y' all are both looking at me real funny, and I think you're just gonna have to deal.
Yeah, well, no, you're. No, no.
[00:01:17] Speaker A: Happy years.
[00:01:18] Speaker B: Sweet baby. You're. You're absolutely perfect. I, I was judging Erica.
[00:01:23] Speaker A: You.
[00:01:26] Speaker B: It's gonna be a fun one. We're here to talk about. Aw, dynamite. Like we do every week with my favorite wrestle queers. I give you because you're my favorite Erica. The length warrants. Talk to everybody. Say hi. Go. I forgot how to do this. It's. It's been a long week.
[00:01:42] Speaker A: Hello. Good morning. Good evening or evening.
[00:01:46] Speaker B: It is 7:30.
[00:01:48] Speaker C: Yeah, but people are listening to this at any point in time.
[00:01:52] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. It could be any day. And it's actually 8:15pm we got. We have proper time.
[00:01:59] Speaker B: Oh, shut up.
Yeah, yeah. No, no. Hampter and I both know Central. Central Bestral. Okay, okay, Central.
[00:02:07] Speaker C: You're the ton. The sun touches you the first. You are not blessed.
[00:02:11] Speaker A: Listen, listen. Hampton's in goddamn Chicago. They have a coast.
[00:02:16] Speaker B: Hey, actually, you watch your mind. The blessed folks land of Chicago. Okay. You're goddamn right. Go Bears. Oh, God, no. That turned into ash in my mouth. I can't say that.
[00:02:36] Speaker C: Jesus, you went full west side, man.
[00:02:39] Speaker A: Sports.
[00:02:40] Speaker B: My. This is my dedication to the. The craft. All right. Yo soy after Sarah. Go
[00:02:49] Speaker C: so back. So like the. It's the normal setup, but instead of the Zorb, it's just the. The possum wizard backs out of behind the stage and rears back. And as the pyro goes off, there's very clearly a half empty jar of N hela stuck in my mouth and in. In my head. And I cannot get it off to spend the rest of the entrance trying to get to the ring.
[00:03:22] Speaker B: Oh, buddy.
[00:03:24] Speaker C: And also wrestling with the jar.
[00:03:27] Speaker B: Oh, no. Oh, no. They're stumbling. Okay. All right. They went into the front row. Okay.
[00:03:33] Speaker C: People are trying to help me up.
[00:03:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay, your crowd. Surf them back to the booth. Okay. We'll get it off the snout.
[00:03:42] Speaker A: You know what?
Still not. Still not as depressing as that Jeff Hardy match in tna.
[00:03:49] Speaker B: Oh, jeez.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: What was that? No Surrender against Sting in the main event.
[00:04:00] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, he surrendered.
[00:04:01] Speaker C: Where?
[00:04:02] Speaker A: Where?
[00:04:02] Speaker B: Yeah, we're.
I hope it was.
[00:04:04] Speaker A: Oh, he didn't surrender. Sting. Sting didn't give him a choice.
[00:04:08] Speaker B: No Sting, that was a shoot pin, brother. Like. Like.
Jeff Hardy, not knowing where or who he is, knew that he had to kick out before three.
[00:04:26] Speaker A: I gotta kick out.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: No,
[00:04:33] Speaker C: I forgot to do my homework.
[00:04:36] Speaker B: Oh, no, you had homework?
[00:04:37] Speaker C: Well, the. No, no, no. That wasn't the Jeff Hardy match. That was.
[00:04:41] Speaker B: Oh, the neck. Oh, you didn't watch Necro Butcher and Joe.
[00:04:45] Speaker A: Sorry.
[00:04:46] Speaker C: I'll do it.
[00:04:47] Speaker A: That's okay. It's. It's on YouTube. It's free. Yeah, it's there forever. It's one of those things that will always be uploaded, even if, like, Iwa Mid South's channel goes down. Like, somebody will upload that somewhere.
[00:04:59] Speaker B: No, if someone. If someone takes that down, they'll put it back up. That's. That. That's why it has a dark side of the ring episode. Like, it's a canon event, you know, Like. Like in Doctor who. He couldn't change it. Like.
[00:05:11] Speaker C: Like.
[00:05:16] Speaker B: Nah, man. That's a fixed point. That shit's happening, dog.
I'm hanging out with Bugs too much.
[00:05:27] Speaker C: I was wondering where the who reference came from, because that shit's why I have never heard you.
[00:05:33] Speaker B: I used to be a who girl. I used to be a who girl real bad. Before. Before Trek, even.
Like, before I went. Like. I. I'm. I don't know if it's some sort of something in my brain. We'll put it that way.
But I have a tendency, when I like something, I like it harder than anything ever.
I don't know if y' all noticed this about wrestling, but before wrestling, it was Star Trek.
And before Star Trek, it was Doctor who.
And before that, it was rock music and. And. And.
And alcohol.
Yeah. Regrettable sex.
[00:06:14] Speaker C: So two lifetimes ago, I, too, was a Whovian.
[00:06:19] Speaker B: Yeah. So you have that.
Now I get to take all of that useless knowledge and bring it to the theory of Everything being wrestling, and to, you know, dynamite. Which reminds me, Erica, where the are we?
[00:06:37] Speaker A: Well, we are in Detroit, Michigan. The Motor City. Dadd.
[00:06:44] Speaker B: We're gonna build some cars.
[00:06:45] Speaker A: That is we'll go to the pay window at the Ford plant and get told that a computer took our job and they're not even gonna give us a watch because.
[00:07:01] Speaker C: Yeah, he was there for that.
[00:07:02] Speaker A: I wanted to. I wanted a Rolex, but they gave me this something called a Fattel.
[00:07:10] Speaker C: Those are good watches, though.
[00:07:12] Speaker B: So I looked up who owned the company. His name was Elon Musk.
[00:07:18] Speaker C: Wait, no.
[00:07:19] Speaker B: Went to the factory and. All right, that's enough. That's enough, Dustin. You're done.
So anyways, do you got a cryptid force before the lawyers?
[00:07:32] Speaker A: No, I don't have it. No, no, I do. I do. I do have a cryptic. I have a fantastic cryptid.
That is the cryptid of the week. It's Henry Ford. No, unfortunately, he was real.
[00:07:44] Speaker C: Oh, I don't know. I've never seen him. I don't.
[00:07:48] Speaker B: A lot of people disliked that. Yeah, but yeah, he was real.
[00:07:53] Speaker A: No, but no, we are. We are going. We are. We are casting our net wide over the great state of Michigan and we are going to the. We're going to Lena Lake. Does anybody know have heard of Lena Lake?
[00:08:08] Speaker B: No, actually, I have not.
[00:08:10] Speaker A: I just got back to Michigan.
[00:08:12] Speaker C: I do not know.
[00:08:13] Speaker A: Yeah, so like, if you. What do they do? They do like the mitt thing.
[00:08:17] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:08:17] Speaker A: So like Lena. Lenal is all the way up at like the tip of the pinky.
[00:08:21] Speaker B: Oh, oh, we got the tip of the pinky there. Well, I like its alliteration leak.
[00:08:27] Speaker A: Yeah, it's. Apparently I forget which tribe, but it's like a native word, so it means like Carp Lake. There's carpet the lake.
[00:08:33] Speaker B: Oh, hell yeah.
[00:08:34] Speaker A: But they have a lake monster, you see.
Yes.
And it's very.
[00:08:42] Speaker C: It's.
[00:08:42] Speaker A: I don't know, I just. I like the story behind it because supposedly like people started seeing it in the 1800s because they dammed up a river and that's what like made the lake. It's like a man made lake up there.
[00:08:53] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[00:08:54] Speaker A: And.
And so like 1910, there was this kid out on the lake. He's fishing. Not for carp, for perch. It's a carp lake, but he was looking for perch.
And there was like this section of the lake where there were all these like trees. Like the trees had died and like the tops are broken off, but like there was like, you know, just stumps of trees. So he, he's like, I'll fish over here. Goes to tie up his, his, his boat to one of the trees and like two big giant bug eyes on the tree stump open.
[00:09:27] Speaker B: It's an end. It's an end. It's an end. Holy.
[00:09:31] Speaker A: I wish. But no, it.
[00:09:33] Speaker B: No.
[00:09:33] Speaker A: So then, like, it kind of. It kind of like, rears the head up and then down under the boat. And so it was apparently, like, a really big, long, weird monster. I guess it could. It's. It was camouflaged is essentially what it is. That's what makes it unique because, like, there's. So there's not a lot of sightings of it, but they theorize that it's kind of like.
[00:09:55] Speaker B: Because it could be anything.
[00:09:56] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like a stick bug or something.
[00:10:00] Speaker B: Like a real big stick bug.
[00:10:02] Speaker A: Yeah, or something like that.
[00:10:04] Speaker B: That's an end.
[00:10:05] Speaker A: It could be an end. It could be a tree. It could be. It could be a living tree.
[00:10:09] Speaker C: Water tree.
[00:10:12] Speaker B: My next question. Does it have the voice of Jonathan Reese Davis?
[00:10:16] Speaker A: No, it doesn't have a bigot talking.
[00:10:19] Speaker C: Was there any, like, did they see any appendages? Has anybody else seen this creature? Any additional, like, characteristics?
[00:10:28] Speaker A: There was, like, a tail to it, but, like, there's not a lot of sightings of it. There's been, like, a few over the years, apparently. And the theory is that since it's so good at camouflaging, it's just hard to find.
[00:10:40] Speaker C: Yeah, for sure.
[00:10:42] Speaker A: Or the alternative thing is that people find it, but they get eaten.
[00:10:49] Speaker C: I hope that also happens. I mean, like, you're in an enclosed lake area, like, so you have to be somewhat stealthy.
[00:10:58] Speaker A: I mean, lake monsters are. Lake monsters, I always think are kind of interesting, but, like, they're also like. Like, this is a big stretch, buddy.
[00:11:08] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, that's true.
[00:11:10] Speaker A: There's some deep. There's some big lakes, especially, you know, up there.
[00:11:14] Speaker B: And, you know, people don't understand.
The thing about Michigan is it's on a couple of the great ones.
[00:11:23] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Two of them.
[00:11:29] Speaker A: I don't think people, like, register how big those lakes actually are.
I. I've stood on the Bay of Toronto and looked out on the lake, and that is like, oh, my God.
[00:11:48] Speaker B: I more than once in my life have stood on. On the shores of Lake Superior. And let me tell you, that is horrifying.
Like, because, like, I've also stood on the shores more than once of. Of the Pacific Ocean. And I'd have a hard time telling you the difference.
It's just there they were like, you
[00:12:15] Speaker C: don't have beaches on lakes. And I was like, friend, friend. You don't know.
You don't know.
[00:12:22] Speaker A: Even so, like, even. Even.
All right, so, like, the The. There was like, what. Lake Champlain was a great lake for like, three months before everybody bitched that it was too small. But that shit's really, really deep. And. And that's still really, really huge.
[00:12:37] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:38] Speaker B: Yeah, it's big. It's. It's like ocean in the middle of continent.
[00:12:42] Speaker A: Yeah, it's like. It's like a sliver of ocean that goes, like, from New York to Canada.
Yeah, that shit's nuts.
[00:12:50] Speaker B: So I imagine we will get all kinds of cryptids due to the Great Lakes. I look forward to this. Also, I want to. I want to mark down, because I marked out.
This is the first time I have wholeheartedly with my entire metaphorical been into Cryptid of the week. That's wild.
It's the ghost of George C. Scott all over again. I was like, make it stop. And now I'm here, and it's just like, no, don't ever get rid of him. I love him. You can't exercise it.
[00:13:21] Speaker A: Well, we'll get some good. We're going to Mexico next week.
[00:13:25] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[00:13:27] Speaker A: We get some foreign cryptids next week, but yeah.
So actually, I'll take this moment. Shout out the. The source of this Cryptopia US article by Rob Morphy, who I think is an excellent writer.
[00:13:43] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, thanks.
[00:13:44] Speaker A: So I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm citing my sources this week because I should be good at this professional
[00:13:51] Speaker B: that, you know, at least one of us should try 7:26.
[00:13:56] Speaker C: I'm just writing that. That the time down for some bizarre reason.
[00:14:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I think. I mean, 8:26. Or
[00:14:08] Speaker B: I'm a total professional. I am not watching ladies squeakums right now while we talk about fake wrestling, fake sports.
[00:14:16] Speaker A: Speaking of the most professional people in the world, when I turn my feed on my AEW on, I was greeted by Tony Khan and the Insane Clown Posse.
[00:14:29] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm sorry, what?
I. Oh, I did not.
[00:14:35] Speaker B: I didn't get that. I didn't for some reason. Yeah.
Was this a troller special or.
[00:14:43] Speaker A: I'm paying for my aew. So, like, when I signed. Oh, I didn't. I don't. I don't know what happened. I think he just introduced them. But yes, Tony Khan is down with the clown.
Paid a visit to. Aw, dynamite.
[00:14:59] Speaker B: I gotta say for, like, no. No joking at all. Like, some of the coolest people I've ever know have been Juggalos. Like, they're like. Like, I'm sure there's plenty of Juggalos too, because there's everybody. But, like, you know, we got Blair White.
But, like, yeah, Juggalos general, like, generally, as a rule, much like furries, the Juggalo is your friend.
Because in all, almost every instance, you all hate cops. And that is right and correct.
[00:15:34] Speaker C: I mean, I. I do believe the. The. The two. The. The. The main performers have actually, like, apologized for bigoted and, like.
[00:15:44] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:44] Speaker C: Homophobic comments in the past and, like, have.
[00:15:47] Speaker B: Yeah. They're like.
[00:15:47] Speaker C: To make themselves better.
[00:15:49] Speaker B: Yeah. And, like, I know at least one of them's kid is a furry. And, like, what? He went, like, whole hard, like, like the whole way on that and, like, got a matching fursuits. Like, they both have fursuits and they go to town together.
That's the greatest, right? So it's like. Yeah. No. Yeah. I love when a weird stoner freak clown rap act can be good fathers. Okay. The rest of y' all have no excuse, you hear me?
[00:16:17] Speaker A: Although they do. They do.
They do employ Vince Russo. So that is a mark against them.
[00:16:23] Speaker B: Yeah,
[00:16:28] Speaker A: That's also just like. That's not the point. The point is that, like, Juggalos are kind of unfairly maligned as cringe. And I think that the wider Internet owes them an apology.
[00:16:39] Speaker B: Absolutely. And. And as far as wrestling fans go, we can't ever get on anyone for being.
[00:16:45] Speaker A: No, yeah, no, absolutely.
[00:16:47] Speaker C: I mean, there's. There's got to be a ton of crossover with the two fandoms.
[00:16:51] Speaker A: Oh. Oh, yeah. No, because they were in WCW years.
[00:16:55] Speaker B: Yeah, they were wcw.
[00:16:56] Speaker A: They were on tv.
[00:16:57] Speaker B: Those are. They're like tag team champions, aren't they?
[00:17:00] Speaker A: Yeah, I think so.
[00:17:02] Speaker B: I'm pretty sure they're.
[00:17:03] Speaker A: They're at least hardcore champions. Yeah. God.
[00:17:06] Speaker C: Jesus,
[00:17:09] Speaker B: too. Oh, God.
With the. Yeah. You got this to look forward to, you Hamp.
[00:17:16] Speaker C: I have so much to look forward to.
[00:17:18] Speaker A: So. Yes. When Dean jumped to the fed, the oddities.
[00:17:21] Speaker B: Jesus.
[00:17:22] Speaker A: When. When Dean jumped to the Fed, WCW had to get another great Malenko and.
[00:17:32] Speaker B: No, turn it off. We're done here.
[00:17:36] Speaker A: That's it.
That's the best it's ever gonna. I made myself cough that time.
[00:17:46] Speaker B: I'm dying.
Oh, my God. Jesus. I gotta do this all again tomorrow.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: All right.
[00:17:54] Speaker B: Wow. Holy.
[00:17:55] Speaker A: Are you gonna talk about icp?
[00:17:59] Speaker B: Oh, no, I'm gonna talk about bail.
[00:18:03] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Well, right off. Yeah, clearly.
[00:18:06] Speaker A: Hell yeah.
[00:18:08] Speaker B: Beowulf is absolutely grabs. And I will say no more about that because you have to go listen to the show. It's all right.
[00:18:17] Speaker A: Like, he actual grapples with Grendel. I'm just saying.
[00:18:20] Speaker B: Yeah, no, there's literally Wrestling. Yeah.
Let's say nothing of long term storytelling.
All right. Okay. That's all I'm giving you.
[00:18:32] Speaker A: He gets killed by John Moxley at the end, right? John Moxley.
He tries to bags him at the end.
[00:18:38] Speaker B: Yeah, he's gonna say bag the dag.
[00:18:40] Speaker A: And his name is Brian Danielson. Not.
[00:18:45] Speaker C: It makes sense. Marie. With.
[00:18:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:18:47] Speaker C: Grendel's mother is Marina.
[00:18:49] Speaker B: Marina Shafir.
[00:18:50] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:18:51] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:18:53] Speaker A: No, no, no, no, no.
Danielson's Beowulf. Moxley's the dragon at the end.
Marina can be Grendel's mother. And Grant, who would be Grendel, Huh?
No, no, because Grendel. Gre.
[00:19:18] Speaker B: Claudio is the closest thing they have to a Mad.
[00:19:20] Speaker A: Actually.
[00:19:20] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:21] Speaker A: Claudia. Claudia. Because he's like a big, monstrous dude.
[00:19:24] Speaker B: He's a big, monstrous, powerful.
[00:19:26] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:28] Speaker B: Damn. Wow. Holy. Y', all. This is a weird one.
I didn't mean to get that much.
We have crossed the streams. And that's funny because these are pro like that. The Beowulf episode probably come out like a day or two after this. It's.
I have a lot of editing to do this weekend.
[00:19:52] Speaker A: Funny.
[00:19:54] Speaker B: Awesome. Yeah.
[00:19:55] Speaker A: Anyway, look at that.
[00:19:56] Speaker B: We get synergy. But yeah, we should talk about current grabs and not, you know, thousands of
[00:20:01] Speaker A: year old epic poetry.
[00:20:03] Speaker B: There's a time and a place.
[00:20:04] Speaker A: I just like Beow. I just like Beowulf. I am sorry. I'm like. I'm a nerd.
Like, take a moment to appreciate.
I went to college. Okay.
I like that.
[00:20:17] Speaker C: That's good.
[00:20:18] Speaker A: I went to college. I like that.
All right, so big words, big ones. So this was a hell of a dynamite crowd, man. Crowd was raring to go from day. Like the minute that it went on
[00:20:36] Speaker C: the air, the difference between this and redemption was astounding to me.
[00:20:46] Speaker A: So I have not seen redemption.
[00:20:48] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Yeah. I mean, I saw the first four hours of it. So
[00:20:56] Speaker A: that's all.
[00:20:58] Speaker C: Yeah, that's all.
[00:21:01] Speaker B: Yeah, I got about halfway and I got tired.
[00:21:03] Speaker A: Yeah, that's. Yeah, like. Like my. My. Yeah, that's kind of my feeling. It's like I wasn't very interested in it, watching it to begin with, and my work schedule just makes me too tired to care a whole lot. So I was just like, yeah, I'll check out anything that anybody says I should check out.
[00:21:19] Speaker B: It was an AEW pay per view.
[00:21:20] Speaker A: It sounded like it was fine, but like, the ending from my understanding was like very goofy because, yes, the death Riders came out to pilmanize Kenny's neck. And then Will showed up and was like, no, don't do it. And chased him off. And then Moxley was like, hey, calm down. Here's a plastic bag. Just uncomfortable breaking his neck. You can just kill him, and then we'll
[00:21:48] Speaker C: listen. You have two. You have options.
Like a parent talking to their toddler. Like, okay, so do you want to have peanut butter and jelly for lunch, or do you want to have chicken?
[00:21:59] Speaker B: Yeah. If it's not the bag, it's not the chair. What do you want? Do you want drawn cordial? What, the bill?
[00:22:04] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:22:05] Speaker B: Like, what are we doing?
[00:22:07] Speaker A: I didn't bring the gun over the boy.
[00:22:12] Speaker B: I left the G.
But he's gotta die.
[00:22:15] Speaker A: All right, so the show itself opens with, like, a recap of it intercut with Moxley, like, the Death Riders walking through the back and Moxley ranting and ranting about like, oh, man. Like, you know, you should have done it. I gave it. So, like, Moxley's thing is, like, I gave you the opportunity, like, you had to pull the trigger, and you have to do it before he gets you. So they're sitting in the back watching it on tv.
[00:22:42] Speaker B: This was brilliant. I thought this was so great.
[00:22:46] Speaker A: Amazing.
[00:22:47] Speaker B: Because we watch. Because I watched all. Like, I watched the end of it, and, like, I was like, oh, they're like, in media res. Like, they're going in and filling in the gap.
You know what I mean? Because then he comes back out, and I was like, oh, my God. All right. This is so sick. Like, that was really cool storytelling. That was really, really cool.
[00:23:05] Speaker C: It's also wonderful because I hadn't seen the end of Pay Per View and. Erica, you didn't watch it either. And so to watch him talk through it and experience it, like, with me at the same time was actually really exciting. I was like, damn. I mean, I love Moxon commentary to begin with and know to add this.
Yeah.
[00:23:27] Speaker B: And I mean, I can tell you, like, where I was while it was going on, which is I was standing up in my tiny little office here, just jumping up and down, going, moxley is always right. Okay? Like, why are. Why. Why are we with this? He's also a cult leader. And. And probably.
But he's right. So, like.
[00:23:59] Speaker A: And, like, he says it, like, after all that happens, he gets in the face of the camera and he's like, he is not your friend. You are trying to take his title.
You have to pull the trigger. I gave you the chance to do it. You have to take it.
[00:24:12] Speaker B: And then, like, by God, omega. Like, yeah.
[00:24:18] Speaker A: And then the stinger. The stinger of the promo was you gotta go out. You're going on it alone now. The only difference is he might be the best wrestler in the world. Will Ospreay is truly on death ground.
[00:24:32] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:24:33] Speaker B: That was just.
[00:24:35] Speaker C: Nothing less left to lose that.
[00:24:37] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. They're so good at this.
Truly like, oh my God. Jon Moxley is too good at this. He's.
[00:24:47] Speaker C: Yeah, he's a great storyteller.
[00:24:49] Speaker A: I take away from this is that until this episode and we'll, you know, we'll get to the ending of it. Jon Moxley has done more to sell Will Ospreay as this threat than Will Ospreay has done for himself.
[00:25:06] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:25:08] Speaker A: Run like the entire. Aw. Like he's, he's been like so like he's like. I'm not going to say that he's been a bad wrestler, has had bad matches but like he's always, he's never had this edge.
[00:25:21] Speaker C: No.
[00:25:22] Speaker A: And he still kind of didn't. I still think he fully does but like Mox like mocks did this.
[00:25:29] Speaker B: He fed him the whole story. He's like, all you have to do is show up and do some gay with us.
Like you love that. That's fine. I saw you in the, in the. I saw you in the bisexual stripey thing. You know, you just gotta show up, do gay and like you're gonna do. You don't even gotta be a better wrestler. It's fine. You can still be a piece it. I won't do anything about it. You know, like just. Yeah, he literally just fed it to him. Like here, here, I'm gonna get you the over. You just show up.
So just
[00:26:03] Speaker C: maybe it's his face or whatever but like he's just not a killer. Like he, like you said he doesn't have the edge. He's not Jon Moxley. Well, or swerve or like, or even
[00:26:18] Speaker A: Kenny anybody see this is.
[00:26:20] Speaker B: This is Kevin Knight, Ben Juan Darby. I was like, oh, he's gonna kill that some like that's awesome. Do it.
[00:26:31] Speaker A: Here's the thing though. He was like that in New Japan frequently like okay, very like especially like as he rose up the card he got more vicious. Like one of the his matches, like big like heavyweight singles matches was at Wrestle Kingdom and he just beat the ever loving out of Koto Ibushi. And like I'm not talking like, I'm not, I'm not talking like, you know Ibushi the last few times we saw him where we're like not sure what he's got. We're like talking about again, maybe not. Maybe not Prime Ishibushi, but closer to his prima bushi, who could still just flat out go. And Osprey kicked the. Out of him so badly that people were just like, is he shoot. Did he shoot Concuss him with the hidden blade?
Yeah, yeah. Like, so, like, I feel like we have pulled back into that realm of will. Will Ospreay.
But it's not. It's.
[00:27:30] Speaker B: Again, it's not anything he did. It's. It's all through the story that Mox in the Death Riders fed him up until that promo that like, that gave me chills and it set up the whole thing. It's all because of Moxley and Omega.
[00:27:46] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. They. They set the table for him. They're. They are doing everything in their power to make him the guy that's kind of holy truth.
[00:27:56] Speaker C: And now they're gonna feed him the Death Riders. Like his next matches against Daniel Garcia, who.
[00:28:03] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:28:04] Speaker C: I love him so much.
[00:28:08] Speaker B: This is gonna suck.
[00:28:09] Speaker A: Yeah, well, let's. Let's progress with like the. The show proper.
[00:28:16] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. I feel like.
[00:28:18] Speaker A: Yeah, no, for a while.
I'm going to gush about a lot of stuff on this episode. Trust me.
[00:28:25] Speaker B: Yeah, there's layers.
[00:28:27] Speaker C: Let's go. Yeah, let's get to the good stuff.
[00:28:29] Speaker A: There's a lot going on in this one. So this we go to like, Osprey's arriving. Renee's trying to get away with him. He's not. Doesn't want to talk to her. And he runs into the Death Riders.
Garcia goes like, ah, young boy. Billion. Just gets like, yeah, his head blown off.
[00:28:48] Speaker C: Jesus.
Felt so bad for him.
[00:28:52] Speaker B: I was like, yeah, that was also pretty sick. That was great. I was also 100%.
[00:29:00] Speaker A: Yep.
And MOX. Mox asks him, is like, are you sure that you want this? Like, are you sure this is what you want to do? And Will tells him that Box doesn't get to pull the trigger for him. And he turns over his Death Rider patch and ah, you know, you got it all figured out. And they let him pass. Then he runs into Hangman. Adam Page
[00:29:24] Speaker B: loses their. Oh, my God.
[00:29:26] Speaker A: And he's like. He's like such a. He.
Go ahead, Hampter.
[00:29:31] Speaker C: Oh, no. They just. They cowboy echoes throughout the entire.
[00:29:36] Speaker A: Yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:29:37] Speaker C: I should.
[00:29:38] Speaker A: I would also like to add, like, they are in like, just an alley that looks like it's made for just sitting behind and smoking. Like, that's the only reason this alley has been constructed in the way it has is so that people can sit back there and smoke. It's a smoke out for smoking.
Yeah.
[00:29:57] Speaker C: Barbed wire every. Somebody has absolutely pissed on the wall that Danny Garcia fell on.
[00:30:03] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's got a smell.
Piss and sick back there.
Smells like garbage.
[00:30:10] Speaker C: Relatable smell.
[00:30:12] Speaker B: It smells like that the. The back of the Grand Old Opry where I smoked a cigarette outside Tootsies last week. Yeah.
[00:30:21] Speaker C: God damn memories like the corners of my mind.
[00:30:27] Speaker A: So Hanger. Hanger says that, you know, he. He basically offers to help Osprey. He knows what it's like to go into, you know, all in main event and he says he doesn't have to do it alone. And Will says that, you know, he can't trust Kenny Omega and he also can't trust Hangman Page because Paige's Kenny's friend and a member of the elite.
Yep. Eddie.
Yep. He's going into Wembley as one of the best in the world and he's either going to win or die.
Just kidding.
I don't know why I wrote this game. That's funny.
Anyway, yes.
We. We jump right to a match for the aw national title. The new champion, Andrade El Idolo defending against Jack Perry and Nick, Brought to you by Mortal Kombat 2 on HBO Max and movie.
[00:31:24] Speaker B: Watch it.
[00:31:26] Speaker A: Nobody was murdered or dismembered in this match. So I felt cheated. Yeah.
[00:31:32] Speaker C: How sponsored is it then? Actually?
[00:31:34] Speaker B: You were cheated. Yeah. No, you're absolutely cheated.
There were no fatalities. There weren't even any animalities. It was really.
[00:31:42] Speaker A: There was no friendship either.
[00:31:44] Speaker B: There was no friendship. Yeah. No Chuck Taylor again, yet to be seen.
Yeah. Sorry. Shout out to the Waffleys. Love you. But again, no, it was bad in that sense. But again, cannot stress enough the movie. Good.
Go watch it because I want them to make so many more of them. I want them to make 10 of them, please. Thank you.
[00:32:13] Speaker C: You said. Except it was bad and I thought you were talking about the match because I was about to lose my.
This.
This match?
[00:32:22] Speaker B: No. This match.
[00:32:23] Speaker A: Yeah. I enjoyed this match, but no one had.
[00:32:25] Speaker B: No one had their arms ripped off of their body though.
[00:32:29] Speaker A: Yeah. I mean that was. That was false advertising. But yeah.
Jack's taking a selfie with a shark fin on his head.
[00:32:40] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:32:41] Speaker A: Chanting how you know, because. Oh, God, that's still inexplicably over. I mean, it's very funny. Good job.
[00:32:49] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:32:50] Speaker C: I tried to explain it to my tattoo artist and he was like, what? It's like it's three. Three words. How you know? And he's like, I don't get it.
And I was like, well, it all stands. Either from the original feud with MJF and he. How you know that
[00:33:11] Speaker A: I don't understand.
[00:33:13] Speaker B: I'm just gonna get it out of the way here because I do have some thoughts on this because I listened to our. Our Guamos across the pond, and they had some thoughts on it.
[00:33:23] Speaker C: Oh, good.
[00:33:25] Speaker B: Yeah. I.
I am still in a place where I am delighted by it because I'm an. Easy.
Easy.
However. Yeah. Yeah. However, I also am seeing that it is very quickly entering what territory.
And I just know what. I don't really want to what deal with that.
So if we could try to kill it before it gets there, that'd be cool.
[00:33:54] Speaker A: Yeah, it's.
[00:33:55] Speaker B: If it's. I'm talking one or two more episodes that were there.
[00:34:02] Speaker A: I think it's getting a little forced.
Like, if the crowd wants to chant it. Sure. But, like, they're finding way too many ways to sneak in.
Yeah. Every single one of us.
[00:34:16] Speaker C: Yeah.
Yeah. After he. They. Because even after this match, he. I mean, obviously, he retains and, like, great match.
[00:34:25] Speaker B: Hard. Loved it. Love him.
[00:34:26] Speaker C: Yeah. Tony ads. Talks to him, and he. And he ends the little brief conversation with Tony with how, you know, and. And, like, Tony tosses it to him.
[00:34:37] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:38] Speaker A: But, like, he actually.
At least it made sense the way he tossed it to him. I suppose.
[00:34:43] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:34:44] Speaker A: It's not just.
[00:34:45] Speaker C: But it's all over his body now. Like, it's on his. Yeah, it's on his chest.
[00:34:50] Speaker B: It's too, like, y' all too much of a good thing. Okay.
[00:34:54] Speaker A: Too far. Too fast with it.
[00:34:57] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:34:57] Speaker C: Wrestling. No. I don't know.
[00:35:02] Speaker B: Again, my. My particular millennial. My particular millennial brain goes immediately to fear loathing Las Vegas. You took too much, man.
You took way too much. And now you are tripping on how you know, and you got. Yeah. You gotta pull back.
[00:35:22] Speaker A: Oh, I don't think.
[00:35:23] Speaker C: I don't think.
[00:35:25] Speaker A: If there's a. If there's a story to this.
Yeah. If there's a story to this match, it's Nick and Jack trying to have a fight against each other with. Between little guys and Andrade just beating the out.
[00:35:40] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:42] Speaker A: Because he's bigger than by, like, £40.
[00:35:46] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:35:47] Speaker B: It was so fun.
[00:35:48] Speaker C: This was.
[00:35:49] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, it was. It was back and forth, lots of spots, lots of cool.
I liked. I liked. Was it. He was trying to. He got like, the three Amigos, and then he tries to run at Jack Perry in the corner, and Nick Wayne just appears out of nowhere and hits a Spanish Spanish fly.
[00:36:07] Speaker C: Yeah, that was good.
I just want to say I don't. I don't. I don't like the afterlife. What happens when we die? Idk. I just hope that somewhere Eddie Guerrero knows that there are still stadiums of people that chant his name.
Just want the him to know. I just want that to. Because.
[00:36:30] Speaker B: Yeah, it's funny. Yeah. I mean, there's got to be, like. I want to. I want to believe we can keep that going for, like, at least one more generation.
[00:36:42] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:42] Speaker B: You know what I mean? I want to. I want. I want to be a thing where people at wrestling shows 100 years from now are like, why do we call Eddie? Why do we chant Eddie
[00:36:52] Speaker C: S. Appears.
[00:36:54] Speaker B: Let me tell you about Latino heat.
[00:37:03] Speaker A: And his friend went nuts after he died.
[00:37:07] Speaker B: And we don't talk about it anymore,
[00:37:09] Speaker A: but we raise our.
Whatever he's mentioned.
[00:37:13] Speaker B: Yes. We get Ben to be a.
I'm being taken away now.
[00:37:22] Speaker C: Grand.
Sure, Grandma. Let's get you to bed.
Sure, Auntie.
[00:37:30] Speaker A: God.
Other cool spots.
[00:37:33] Speaker B: Oh, the Wrestle Ants.
[00:37:34] Speaker A: Yeah, that.
What? H. All right. So, like, they. They come back from the commercial, and they do this spot where Andrade powerbombs Nick Wayne, and then he tries to go on the apron, and Jack hits him with the Hurricane Rana from the top, from the apron to the floor. And then Nick Wayne just appears out of fucking nowhere and kills Jack with a Canadian destroyer through the ropes onto the floor.
[00:38:06] Speaker B: And it was real gross.
[00:38:09] Speaker A: It's like, what the.
[00:38:13] Speaker C: Those little guys, like, Nick Wayne has just.
Is great. I'm. I'm great. It's good to see him.
It's always good to see him.
[00:38:23] Speaker B: So I. I mean, I guess we'll see in the long run if it's good or bad, but it is kind of cool that we, like, have the. This dude who's just like, oh, yeah, no, I've been doing this since I could walk.
[00:38:36] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:39] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:38:39] Speaker B: I mean, the whole entire thing.
[00:38:41] Speaker A: You know, if he needs one thing, he needs a better entrance song because, like, it's really just like, I'm Nick Wayne.
[00:38:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:38:51] Speaker A: And that's really all I remember is.
[00:38:54] Speaker B: Yeah, it doesn't. It doesn't exactly Mike Jones off the tongue. Okay. Like, it's not.
Yeah. Oh, God.
[00:39:04] Speaker C: Heartbreaking going on with his gear.
Song upgraded.
[00:39:12] Speaker A: Yeah, the song needs to be upgraded if I want him going to be taking him seriously.
He's got a move.
Got a move called the Prodigy Plex, which I guess is just a perfect plex.
[00:39:27] Speaker B: I thought it had, like, a twist to it. Like, it was like, a Twisty. Perfect Flex. I don't know. Maybe I wasn't.
[00:39:32] Speaker A: Maybe not. Not really a Twisty. It was more like a Brain Buster. Perfect Plex. As opposed to like, just like the bridge. It's more like straight up. Yeah. Perfect Buster. Prodigy Buster.
[00:39:47] Speaker B: I love how we are literally calling it everything except what it's actually called, which is a fisherman. Brain Buster.
It has a name and we will not use it.
[00:39:58] Speaker A: It's the Prodigy Play when he does it, though.
[00:40:01] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:40:02] Speaker A: Prodigy Plex.
[00:40:04] Speaker B: He needs his father back, damn it.
[00:40:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:40:09] Speaker C: Of course. He is.
[00:40:09] Speaker A: Christian Cage, his real father.
[00:40:16] Speaker B: Papa.
[00:40:18] Speaker A: Whenever your dad died, if you're a wrestler and your dad dies, there's a chance that Christian Cage just becomes your father.
[00:40:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:40:26] Speaker A: Genetically.
All in every way, shape and form, Christian Cage just becomes your father.
[00:40:32] Speaker C: That's wild.
[00:40:34] Speaker B: So, real quick, we have. We have.
This will be spoilers for us, but not for anyone else, because it's happening right now. But I have a friend from the cities who is at collision right now.
[00:40:48] Speaker A: Oh, no.
[00:40:49] Speaker B: And they are. ALS Ice Bucket challenging the Glommel Boys in a giant inflatable kiddie pool.
Rhino and ICP did the Dumpy.
[00:40:59] Speaker C: Oh, my God. Yes.
[00:41:01] Speaker B: I. So, so I. So. I don't know if we get to see that, but that happened.
[00:41:08] Speaker A: You know what, though? It's absolutely hysterical. I mean, we'll know by the end of, like, probably by the time we're done recording, but it'll be so funny if they bring in every famous wrestling act from Detroit except the Motor City.
Everybody was waiting for them to show up last night. They did not.
[00:41:30] Speaker B: Oh, they're. They have tonight, though, because, you know, Tony was just like, they're gonna wander tonight and I'm gonna make them suffer.
[00:41:37] Speaker A: I don't know if they're allowed yet. I don't know what their contract status is.
[00:41:41] Speaker B: I know that a lot of the folks who. Who got. Who are on 90 day non competes just got off of them because there's been a lot of talk about them and. New day.
[00:41:52] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:41:54] Speaker B: Who. I guess.
I guess they really. I guess Kofi and Creed, like, put out like, a promo for their, like, new team, like, indie team or like, or whatever. And. And like, it, like, clearly had AI use.
[00:42:09] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:42:09] Speaker B: And everyone's like, you can't. And everyone. Everyone's just like, look, we love you. We love you forever. Cut that the out so I could fly outside.
[00:42:20] Speaker A: Oh, man.
[00:42:22] Speaker B: Yeah, you're not. You're not. You're not under Paul's anymore. Straighten up and fly right. Okay,
[00:42:31] Speaker A: what's this? Other. This other spot. That was crazy. So, like, Wayne charges at Andrade and he pops him up in the air. Hurricane Ron is Jack into him and then Jack turns out into Tornado DDT and then does a poison ran us to Andrade and he's outside of the ring and then he just like does like several tope suicidas in a row to both guys on the floor. The crowd's going fucking insane. He comes back and he hits a fucking Liger bomb on a Nick Wayne for two.
[00:43:07] Speaker B: I couldn't breathe. Like they just. Oh, my God.
[00:43:11] Speaker C: Imagine not just getting that man to sign a contract, not resigning. That man. Just.
[00:43:17] Speaker A: Seriously, Seriously.
He misses the running knee, gets taken out. Nick Wayne eats a backbreaker frog splash. But that only gets the knees. He gets the Phoenix splash.
Jack breaks that up. He wants the running.
That's really good. Phoenix. Well, he kind of hit more.
[00:43:36] Speaker B: He looked like he crushed his head.
[00:43:37] Speaker A: Yeah, like he sort of was off target. But like, the fact that you can even get that rotation, it's just disgusting. I can't do that. Well done, Nick Jack sets up for his running knee, but he eats de los muertos from Andrade. Nick Wayne tries to do a sneak roll up, but then he gets caught with the DM and Andrade, El Idolo retains. They're just like non stop action.
[00:44:06] Speaker C: Damn. I love.
I love the. Damn. It's just such a great move. Jesus.
And he does it so smoothly. It's like silk.
[00:44:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Like if it. If he wasn't doing it as well as he would does, like, it would just be. That's like just a regular ass transition move that anybody can do. But like he just, he hits it so well.
[00:44:30] Speaker B: But when you put the stink on it, you know, I mean, when you like, when you really sell that.
[00:44:35] Speaker A: Yep, yep, yep, yep.
So Tony gets in the ring to interview him to ask how he feels. And he feels tranquilo because he screwed MJF and he screwed down cows and he can fight anybody that he wants and he'll be the best.
[00:44:51] Speaker B: Sorry, do you want to or do you want to fight?
[00:44:52] Speaker A: Okay,
[00:44:56] Speaker B: yeah, fair enough.
[00:44:57] Speaker A: He's going to be the best national champion ever. And he's only like the fourth, so he doesn't have a lot of competition.
There will be a. Oh, go ahead.
[00:45:10] Speaker C: Sorry, I want to.
Super. I guess super point quick.
I want to just point out how happy Andrade looks and how less clothing he's in. No, that doesn't mean that didn't flow. But he's wearing less clothing too. Like, I Don't know. He just was always covered up with Don.
Now he's.
[00:45:31] Speaker A: He did not take his pants off.
[00:45:33] Speaker C: He did not. We were.
[00:45:35] Speaker A: The crowd. The crowd was chanting for him to take his pants off and he did not do it. So that's a little heelish.
[00:45:42] Speaker B: That's restraint. Yeah. That's a little heelish. Yeah. How dare you.
[00:45:46] Speaker C: I watch it. I watch. I watched the card with a bunch of friends and a parent that is watching had their little girl on and she's like, what's he going to take off his pants? Take off your pants. What's he going to take off your pants? Cuz we were like, okay, who's going to win? And she's like, the white pants.
And I was like, yeah. I was like, that's who we want to win too. Yeah.
[00:46:10] Speaker A: Take off your pants, Andrade.
[00:46:13] Speaker C: I don't like the green pants.
Like, I was like, actually he's kind of good though. But like, it was just very fun.
[00:46:22] Speaker B: We sell him swag and we tell him it's midsummer.
[00:46:25] Speaker C: Okay.
A sicko at heart.
[00:46:29] Speaker B: Jack Perry. Jack Perry gets kind, bud. Dude, respect.
Loved your dad.
[00:46:34] Speaker A: Yeah. So there. There is going to be a casino gauntlet match at all in. Andrade is going to compete in a match at Grand Slam Mexico next Wednesday for a shot to be the number one entrant.
And Tony asked him, is that something that you might want? And he's like, tony, how you know, credits.
[00:47:07] Speaker B: Oh, what?
[00:47:08] Speaker A: Yeah, this is all like, entirely like, not what I thought. Like, I thought that the way that they built MJF and him against each other, that he was going to wrestle MJF at Mexico, but I guess not.
[00:47:24] Speaker B: I think MJF might be hurt.
[00:47:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I think that might be hurt. They have been invoking his name an awful lot with Andrade since he's lost the title because he's got his ring. He's got his ring. He's specifically shouted out, I screwed mjf.
But that's. That's all well and good. So Renee's with the Berlin Birds. Gay Sex. She with the Brawling Birds. And she wants to know what they think of Divine Dominion. And Alex Windsor tries to get onto Botamania with. They talk too Much Drop.
This is blatant, you know, I don't care. Go for it, girl.
[00:48:03] Speaker B: But like, I don't know. I don't know.
[00:48:07] Speaker A: Everybody does.
[00:48:08] Speaker B: Okay, okay. But like, try to try a little harder to make it not so like that. Like, you know, like Matthew is mutuals. I think all of us at this Point Matthew follows the pod, if you're listening. Love you, Matthew.
I would never, like, tag him on Blue sky and be like, you should use this bit. You should use it. You see this bit from the show. Do it. Yeah.
[00:48:39] Speaker A: I mean, they're like specifically shouting events.
Excalibur has shouted him out from the desk.
[00:48:45] Speaker B: That's okay. But that's different.
How is that different?
[00:48:49] Speaker A: It still makes it to the thing.
[00:48:51] Speaker B: A shout out is different than a fishing.
It's like, please.
It was like, I'm trying to like, I don't know. It's like, if you're gonna do that, do it better. You know? That is where I'm at.
[00:49:05] Speaker A: My favorite one is still Oscar. Oscar's. You talk too much.
[00:49:15] Speaker C: And.
[00:49:15] Speaker B: Yeah. And that was fantastic. And Oscar can do no wrong.
[00:49:19] Speaker A: Yeah. But Divine Dominion and Brawling Birds are both undefeated as teams, and they think that Dominion has been avoiding them. And eventually they'll fight to knuckle up. And they're also feuding with Athena's MIT people at the same time.
Okay.
[00:49:37] Speaker B: He's in training.
[00:49:38] Speaker A: Minions in training.
So that'll. Yeah, they. They have. There's a match the other youngin.
[00:49:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:49:46] Speaker A: Oh, no. Diamante and Billy Starks are the minions. Yeah.
[00:49:49] Speaker B: Diamante and Billy Starks of the Minion training.
[00:49:51] Speaker A: I like Diamante. We stan a bisexual queen.
[00:49:57] Speaker B: A. And I really dig Billy Starks. Every time I've ever seen Billy Starks wrestle, I've always been like that.
That's pretty great.
[00:50:04] Speaker A: She's good. She's good. She's only like 20, 21. She's really young.
[00:50:09] Speaker B: She's like. I think she's like a little bit younger than Nick Wayne. I feel like Nick Wayne was the youngest signee to AEW by like a few months because she liked. A little bit later.
[00:50:21] Speaker A: Yeah. Billy, like, graduated high school while under contract, I think.
[00:50:28] Speaker B: Yeah, we know she would like Billy. Billy would. Would get. Would have spring break from her school in what, Arkansas or Alabama? I can't remember where she lives.
[00:50:37] Speaker A: Somewhere down there, but like.
[00:50:39] Speaker B: Yeah, somewhere down there. But she'll go on spring break and then go wrestle in Japan on spring break.
[00:50:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:50:44] Speaker B: And then come back to high school.
So like, Billy. Billy Starks is. Is the.
Is what I have to say.
[00:50:53] Speaker A: There's. There's your prodigy.
[00:50:54] Speaker B: She wants to be a minion. Then that. There's your prodigy.
[00:50:58] Speaker A: You.
[00:50:58] Speaker B: Yeah, like, godamn she. Yeah, her dad was. Her dad wasn't a.
Her dad wasn't Buddy Wayne. Like, no offense to Nick Wayne, but like I. I think if someone's, like. If someone's going to be prodigy, it's the. Not a Nepo baby who, like, just did it because she loved it.
I don't know. Again, I'm not judging Nick Wayne, other than the fact that I would absolutely sell him swag and call it midsummer, you know,
[00:51:27] Speaker C: talking about. Yeah, I would. Definitely would.
[00:51:28] Speaker B: He just got that vibe like a shell.
[00:51:32] Speaker C: Like a puka shell. Necklace was a person. Yeah.
[00:51:34] Speaker B: I. Yeah, he's not getting kind butt. All right. That's. That's first and foremost. Okay.
[00:51:42] Speaker A: Necklace was a person.
That's savage.
[00:51:51] Speaker B: Pretty fucking bad.
[00:51:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:51:53] Speaker C: Jesus.
Holy.
Not wrong.
[00:51:59] Speaker A: That's a third degree burn on Nick Wayne.
He lost that match.
[00:52:04] Speaker C: And this, like, stand over Nick Wayne's body.
Nutella Joe still on my head.
[00:52:13] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Total after victory.
[00:52:17] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:52:21] Speaker B: Brought to you by Mortal Kombat, too.
[00:52:25] Speaker C: His head with his spine hanging down.
[00:52:28] Speaker A: Piper's in the chat calling us gay and. Yes.
[00:52:32] Speaker B: Well, yeah.
[00:52:33] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the point.
[00:52:35] Speaker C: Like a bong in his spine. Oh, that would be.
Anyway, sorry.
[00:52:40] Speaker A: Anyway, Renee is with Don Kal's family, and she wants to know how they're feeling after they lost a bunch at Redemption. And Kyle says, well, what do you mean? I thought won.
[00:52:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:52:53] Speaker A: And Don says, sometimes you have to loot. You lose, but that's the nature of the business. And Kevin, you know, Kevin says that he learned that sometimes he needs the rest of the family to succeed. And then Knight and Fletcher go back and forth at each other about how they're like, I'm the best champion. No, I'm the best champion. And Fletcher says he's defending against Mike Bailey at Arena Mexico next week, and he says the international championship will stay in the Don Callis family. And then just, like, a door opens behind him, and Okada walks out, and very dead. Panelist goes like, yes.
In the family.
Not at all, suspiciously. And Fletcher's just like, dude, what are you gonna know?
Yeah, you're gonna stab me in the back, aren't you?
No, Kyle, you're my friend. I would never stab you in the. He's gonna.
[00:53:50] Speaker B: My own screwdriver.
[00:53:52] Speaker A: Yes. With his own screwdriver.
Yep, yep, yep. And then Takesh is gonna be like, I told you.
[00:53:59] Speaker C: Yep.
[00:54:00] Speaker B: But in the meantime, I use flower crown. So pretty.
[00:54:03] Speaker A: Oh, my gosh.
[00:54:05] Speaker C: Yes.
[00:54:06] Speaker B: Also, like, I know it's, like, not always great to do this to, like, people who aren't dead wrestlers, but I'm just saying, if that egg ever cracks, I'm gonna be really happy.
And. And she could still be a twunk. That's fine.
Yeah. But I'm just saying. God. God, he's pretty.
He's pretty. I love so pretty. Even I know it's his little whoremouth because of what he did to your husband. Husband. But like he's so pretty and I love him. And he's pink. I love pink.
[00:54:41] Speaker C: I love that how he takes what is often seen like socially, you know, stigmatized. I will use as like female like aesthetics and wear them and make them look incredibly hard. And I thought that is just, it's so good. I really like it.
[00:55:02] Speaker A: I'll, I'll say the same thing that I said about if Kenny Omega ever got her egg cracked is that I, I welcome them. I, I, yeah, yes. I respect them and all that.
However, the deep seated trans woman jealousy of you all automatically look better than I do.
[00:55:26] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[00:55:27] Speaker A: Just for even before you take your first dose.
[00:55:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah.
I can't stress enough. Like when it comes down to it, money rules all they and they have it.
[00:55:42] Speaker A: They've got it. Yeah. No, it's, it's support to all trans women. But some of you,
[00:55:52] Speaker B: We don't all necessarily feel that way.
[00:55:56] Speaker A: This is deeply sarcastic.
[00:55:57] Speaker B: I don't, I, I, I, I don't support all trans women. Some. You are very stupid. I was just watching a video about Blair White, but that's very specifically.
[00:56:06] Speaker A: Seriously.
Yeah. Like as long as, neither, as long as none of them transition to become pick me's, they're good in my book. If they make me look like a pile of dog.
[00:56:20] Speaker C: White women get a white woman.
[00:56:22] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:56:22] Speaker A: It's yeah.
[00:56:24] Speaker C: Ugly corset. Yeah. Speaking as a white. Well, yeah. Yeah.
[00:56:30] Speaker A: I mean, listen, I be shopping. I got shoes.
Women.
[00:56:38] Speaker C: Am I right?
[00:56:39] Speaker A: Am I right? Am I right, ladies?
[00:56:42] Speaker C: Who's with me?
[00:56:44] Speaker A: That's who's with me because I'm with you at the stores shopping for shoes.
No, but seriously, I did get like a sweet pair of boots that are like hot.
Hell yeah.
[00:56:59] Speaker C: Nice. Good.
[00:57:00] Speaker B: Hey, I don't think we've said on the show proper, but y' all can't see, but Erica looks amazing right now. So you all should just know that.
[00:57:07] Speaker C: 100 cutie.
[00:57:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I'll take a picture. We'll let the, we'll let the people judge.
[00:57:13] Speaker B: Hell yeah. We'll make that instead. Instead of a screenshot of, of the show.
[00:57:20] Speaker A: Yeah. Just make sure it's like a picture of me like cough laughing.
[00:57:27] Speaker C: Yeah. Now I'm gonna catch you mid burp.
[00:57:30] Speaker B: Right? Yeah. Write that down. That's a good one. Yeah.
Listeners, you'll know by now if we actually stuck to that. But
[00:57:41] Speaker A: please don't.
My. My face is on the thing anyway.
[00:57:48] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, that's right.
[00:57:48] Speaker B: The only one with the actual. Your actual face.
[00:57:52] Speaker C: No, Piper is also actual face.
[00:57:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:57:54] Speaker B: Piper is also. Yeah.
[00:57:55] Speaker C: I mean, I just don't have a snout in real life.
[00:57:59] Speaker B: I guess you do have the glasses in the wizard hat.
[00:58:03] Speaker C: Yeah. Everything else is correct.
[00:58:04] Speaker B: Everything else is totally correct. There's a cozy coup in the back.
[00:58:11] Speaker A: All right. Hey, you know, a match happened next.
Don Callis, Brian Cage and Jake Doyle versus Bro Dido and Speedball Mike Bailey.
[00:58:21] Speaker C: Why was this just such. Oh, my. Another fire match.
[00:58:25] Speaker A: Just this rule.
[00:58:30] Speaker B: That was kind of a weird pay per view. It was still good, but we should probably like really give him a good dynamite.
[00:58:36] Speaker A: I mean, so like, listen, here's the thing is that this entire show was brought up by the fact that the Detroit crowd was just into fucking everything that happened. Like, they were. Yes, they were. And they were hot the whole fucking show.
[00:58:54] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:58:54] Speaker B: You. You really can't. You can't make up for. For good and bad crowd. Like, you really can't.
The Fed tries with piping in and
[00:59:04] Speaker C: all that, but like, has been always has, always has.
[00:59:08] Speaker A: And it's true. Like, a good crowd will add loads to a match. Like, that's.
That is something that people learned the hard way during the COVID era of wrestling where they had no crowd and they were just like wrestling in empty gyms and everybody was just like, this is really weird.
[00:59:33] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:59:34] Speaker A: Is this good? Is this good?
It was not. It was.
[00:59:39] Speaker B: Not to say it was.
[00:59:42] Speaker A: It wasn't good. There was a lot. Like, they eventually like worked out a formula to make it work in aew, but like, God, it just was not working for the. A long time.
Anyway, this got Michigan well done with the ice. Chance.
They got the chance. And on callous eyes too.
[01:00:04] Speaker B: Well, hardly like real, like with your chests. Yeah.
[01:00:09] Speaker C: Like you're. Because commentary is speaking and you could still very plainly hear that John Callis cannot escape.
[01:00:22] Speaker A: Nope.
[01:00:22] Speaker C: But. Yeah.
[01:00:25] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:00:30] Speaker C: Sorry.
[01:00:31] Speaker A: Damn.
[01:00:32] Speaker B: Dixley Jones. No, this match was.
Haven't dropped that one in a while.
[01:00:37] Speaker C: Yeah, I know. I've missed it, honestly.
[01:00:40] Speaker B: Yeah. No, this match was another one where it's just like everyone involved was just doing gross at every turn.
[01:00:47] Speaker A: Yep.
[01:00:48] Speaker B: Jake Doyle was just like, oh, my God.
[01:00:52] Speaker C: Right? Oh my God.
[01:00:54] Speaker A: I'm like, he does that body block that is just like wall of veins. Right? Yeah. I don't know if like they call it anything Else, but like. Yeah, Wall of veins. That should just be what it's called. Yeah, it's just.
[01:01:05] Speaker C: Oh, I don't necessarily love big meaty men smashing against big meaty men, but this was. Oh, they did it so good. Like, there's a lot of meat slapping fast. They were dynamic.
A few incredible feats of strength, too. Like.
[01:01:22] Speaker B: Well, all these big guys are super athletic. Like, bro, Brody is super athletic. Has got the lucha.
Brian Cage is. Is. Is more chemical than man.
Jake Doyle is just a beast from what I can tell. I think he might be encrypted. Like, I think he might be, like, ashamed.
Yeah, yeah, that's what I was going for.
[01:01:50] Speaker C: Nair on various parts of him. And it's just like, get the out there.
[01:01:53] Speaker B: Like what they got do it right before the match.
It just starts growing right back.
[01:01:59] Speaker C: Yeah, he's not done anything except, like, kick ass. It's great.
[01:02:03] Speaker A: Just show up.
[01:02:04] Speaker C: Like, what if he's.
[01:02:06] Speaker A: What if he's just like a Bigfoot with mange?
[01:02:09] Speaker C: He just scratches it all off.
[01:02:11] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[01:02:13] Speaker B: I mean, he did used to be called Jake something.
You know, they're like, that is very cryptic.
[01:02:20] Speaker A: But then like.
[01:02:21] Speaker B: Yeah, he's very cryptic coded.
[01:02:25] Speaker A: But yeah, like this Jesus chapter.
[01:02:27] Speaker B: I'm seeing it again. Oh, sorry. Just seeing the hamsters tattoo is now fully colored in now.
[01:02:35] Speaker A: It's beautiful.
Pure beauty.
[01:02:39] Speaker B: That's dedication. Listen, listen, sickos.
The bar has been set.
[01:02:47] Speaker A: Don Callis on commentary is like throwing like gasoline onto the fire. That is the commentary podcast.
Cuz, like, because they just go, what?
[01:03:02] Speaker C: What?
[01:03:03] Speaker A: What does they say? Like, they're like, hey, are you worried about there being dissension on your team with all your guys hating each other? And Don's like, no. And then Taz, like, dissension is good for. For your team.
[01:03:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:03:20] Speaker C: Peoples. Yeah. You're a bunch of people pleasers. You can't take any conflict or tension.
Which is not untrue, actually. I think Taz and Tony are very soft in. In good ways.
[01:03:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
Brody King is just like, going to give. So, like, I thought Brody King was going to break somebody's jaw with how hard he was throwing lariats in this match.
[01:03:46] Speaker B: Yes. It was nice.
[01:03:48] Speaker A: Bandito did his deadlift vertical suplex to Fletcher.
[01:03:56] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:03:56] Speaker B: Very gross. Yeah, More of that.
Some of that in Mexico.
[01:04:02] Speaker A: Taz claims they need to make Brian Cage Mr. Canada. And Don says, no, he's Mr. Canada.
[01:04:09] Speaker C: I'm Mr. Canada.
[01:04:11] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, they're just.
Yes. Ending about how muscular Cages.
And then Taz calls him full body Jones, Good job.
Do you spend a lot of time.
Do you spend a lot of time in alleys, Taz?
Yeah. Back in my day.
I don't know what that's supposed to mean.
I.
[01:04:38] Speaker C: There's so many things he's just.
[01:04:40] Speaker B: Yes. Andy. I don't think he knows what that means.
[01:04:43] Speaker A: Is so good at. Yes. And that he just. Yes. Anything you say to him, honestly, especially
[01:04:52] Speaker C: if you're a heel.
[01:04:54] Speaker B: I think he got. He. He really, really honed a lot of that around with Michael Cole.
[01:05:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:05:01] Speaker B: On all. On a lot of that.
Him and Michael Cole, like, wow. I give Michael Cole a lot of hate because he, he stayed for so long. But like he, he and Taz had a great rapport that I think really did well for him.
[01:05:16] Speaker C: Is it was a TNA or WWE that was SmackDown. Okay.
[01:05:21] Speaker A: Yeah. They are specifically Smackdown commentary team and they like kind of.
[01:05:29] Speaker B: Oh wow.
If you ever watch Botchamania, occasionally they'll show Michael Cole and Taz doing like the Sunday call in show where they like don't even want to be there. And Taz is just like off and like, like not doing his job and like just trying to crack Cole and like good, great. And meanwhile like if like fans are calling in, like, do you think Steve Austin is going to win? Taz is like, kill me now.
Send 3 year old hook to end my life.
He just does not want to be there.
[01:06:11] Speaker A: Bandido kicks ass as Face in Peril.
[01:06:14] Speaker B: Oh yeah.
[01:06:15] Speaker A: This whole sequence where Fletcher, he's. Fletcher's like holding his arm and like Bandito's reaching and just dragging Fletcher with them as he's reaching for the tag and then Fletcher pulls him back and they do that like three times. Rule of three. Rule of three. Yeah, and they get it. Rule of three. I'm telling you. That's a good stuff.
And then eventually he gets the hot tag to Brody. Brody just comes in crowds screaming for meat.
[01:06:43] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:06:45] Speaker A: Clocking everybody left and right. It's so cool. Speedball has not gotten to do a whole lot. But then Speedball gets in and they beat the out of Kyle Fletcher.
[01:06:58] Speaker C: Yeah, they do.
[01:06:59] Speaker B: Yeah, they do.
[01:07:00] Speaker A: Takes his face off with a Buzzsaw kick. And then Fletcher comes back with a lawn dart.
Speedy clocks him back with a high kick and it's just. Yeah, it's like it's non stop action. So then you got Bandito and Doyle and like he does the press slam to Doyle and that always looks cool. And then gets the frog spot. Clash. Yay, Eddie again. That gets Eddie Chance. Constant Eddie Chance.
Brody's still just knocking people's heads off.
So. Yeah, Bandito and Doyle are the legal guys, and they're still in the ring.
He wants a 21 plex. He eats an elbow, but then he gets backed into his corner. Speedball gets hot tag.
It's the Ultima weapon on Doyle in the corner.
Then gets that wrist clutch straight jacket, Cazadoro looking pin. And Speedy gets the win for the team, and they win. Mike Bailey and Brodido are your winners.
[01:08:01] Speaker C: I would love to see them do more tag teams or trios. Team stuff. That was. They worked so well together. I really like it.
[01:08:12] Speaker A: I love it. I'm really excited for Fletcher vs Speedball at Arena Mexico next week. That should be wild.
[01:08:21] Speaker C: So I already know that my friend's not gonna win, but it's gonna be a good match.
[01:08:30] Speaker B: I think they.
You don't think Speedy is gonna retain.
[01:08:34] Speaker C: Oh, no. I think Okada. I think Okada and Fletcher, that they're gonna. They're gonna push that.
[01:08:40] Speaker B: I think Speedy retain excellence.
[01:08:45] Speaker A: He wins the title.
[01:08:47] Speaker B: Wait, wait.
[01:08:49] Speaker A: Fletcher's the champion. He pit. He pinned Fletcher. No, he pinned Doyle. He's not the champion.
[01:08:56] Speaker C: No, he got a number one contender spot.
[01:09:00] Speaker B: I was confused. I thought he won it.
He won the contract. That's right.
[01:09:05] Speaker A: Yes. I saw that match.
[01:09:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:09:09] Speaker A: Crazy.
[01:09:09] Speaker B: That was fun.
[01:09:10] Speaker C: Oh, my God. I love that match. Yeah, that was. Oh, and not just because I forgot about that match.
[01:09:18] Speaker B: That should. That should tell you, like, how much I was paying attention to. To redemption. I was like, oh, it was for contract. I. I could swore it was belt up.
Fair enough.
[01:09:31] Speaker A: Looks like I'm not the only one who needs glasses. I mean, you're wearing glasses.
[01:09:38] Speaker B: Yeah, I know.
[01:09:40] Speaker A: What the heck?
Renee's doing a sit down with Copen Cage and the Young Bucks. The Young Bucks won number one contender status at Redemption.
So, like, they're really selling how it's like a big dream match. And, like, even the Bucks are nervous about it because, like, they've had a long career, but it means a lot to them to wrestle Cope and Cage because they're like the last of that era of tag teams to. That they have. They haven't wrestled well also that are,
[01:10:14] Speaker B: like, still working, like, a lot. A lot of that era is, like, done.
[01:10:20] Speaker A: Yeah, the Dudleys are gone.
[01:10:23] Speaker B: Dudleys are done.
[01:10:24] Speaker A: I mean, I think the. The Bucks must have wrestled the Dudleys and tna.
I will check in on that if I ever care to remember now, because I don't. Yeah, yeah. I don't care.
I know. I know. They've wrestled the hardies a bunch of times anyway. Yep. So Cage interrupts the love fest to say with sincerity that he didn't think that 2015 him and. Yep. Him and Cope would get back together.
House of hardcore.
Yep. But he, he's. He says that they. Him and Cope aren't here for a retirement tour.
They want to show that they're the best tag team of each and every generation. And he's glad the Bucks are going to bring their wives with them to Wembley because he's going to.
[01:11:15] Speaker B: He is going to. Yes.
[01:11:17] Speaker C: I love. So it was the Faces and Christian Cage have a conversation that quickly devolves into.
Yeah, nice. But I'm still gonna beat you.
[01:11:29] Speaker B: I'm gonna bang it. I'm gonna be dressed. I'm gonna bang your wife.
[01:11:31] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:11:32] Speaker C: It's good to see that your wives are coming. Is like even in the AEW Dynamite write up results.
They. They.
Paragraph break.
I. It's good to see that your wives are coming. Paragraph break.
[01:11:47] Speaker A: And I was like, okay, that's where I put the paragraph. Breaking my notes too.
[01:11:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:11:54] Speaker A: Because like, yeah. Like he did. He says that line and everybody's just like, dude.
[01:12:02] Speaker B: It's always Renee and Kobe's face. Like, what the is wrong with him?
[01:12:06] Speaker A: It's okay. He's. It's not okay. He's an. It's really not okay.
Get your together.
[01:12:16] Speaker B: He had his together. He had a family.
[01:12:18] Speaker A: He had a family that had a family. Damn it. Yeah.
What happened? Yeah. So like the Bucks say this is about legacy because they. They were fighting for two years to get the belts back and they need it really badly. And Copeland reminds them that they spent 25 years between TAG title wins, so they cannot make that comparison.
[01:12:41] Speaker C: Years.
[01:12:42] Speaker A: 250 years.
That's as old as America.
[01:12:46] Speaker C: Wow.
[01:12:49] Speaker A: 17,760.
Your Z pack. Your Z pack
[01:12:57] Speaker C: ripped off. Rips off wizard robes.
[01:13:01] Speaker A: You see a bunch of zeros on my tits?
[01:13:04] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:13:06] Speaker C: Like weird pustule zeros. Yeah.
You can't stop this, you mom.
[01:13:17] Speaker A: Yeah. But the Bucks say they need it and they're gonna come at the champions hard. They're gonna come at them hard.
Hard as anything. And Cage says they need the win to cement their legacy. So Renee wants to know, do you really need it? And they're like, yeah, we really need it. And yeah, both teams have something to prove by winning. That's. That's the point of the. The promo.
[01:13:36] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:13:37] Speaker A: Which was pretty good.
TBS Championship match Maya World at Redemption to become the new TBS champion.
[01:13:47] Speaker B: Let's A lot of people, A lot of people were upset by that. I for one think it's cool. I think that that's awesome that, that, that my world's got the championship and I feel like Cheetah's probably fine with it.
[01:14:06] Speaker A: I think that she does pretty much a made woman in the company. She's.
[01:14:11] Speaker B: That's what I'm saying.
[01:14:13] Speaker A: Four times, three time at least.
Women's World champion.
[01:14:17] Speaker B: Women's champion. Yeah. Yeah.
[01:14:19] Speaker A: She had like before Toni Storm. Like, she's, she's. Yeah, don't worry about it.
[01:14:25] Speaker B: Yeah. So all these people are like, she had like one defense of the TBS title.
[01:14:29] Speaker C: Six days or 200.
[01:14:31] Speaker B: Like it wasn't a big, like a big rain. I'm like, it changed Sheeta.
[01:14:35] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:14:36] Speaker B: Yeah, it's Sheeta. Like, that's how I feel. Like it's Sheeta. Like, like it's cool. Like, like I, I'm. I don't think she's not suffering for only getting a 26 day reign and my world is, is going to get like clout through the roof going forward in her career and a huge push out of this. Like, yeah, the math. Math. You know what I mean?
[01:14:59] Speaker A: They're, they're not doing this with my world. Just as a you to the, the. Whoever they were from the Fed, they're like, yeah, yeah, they're, they're, they're like kind of investing in my world right now. So.
[01:15:15] Speaker B: That being said, she did beat her with Tegan Knox's finisher and hit like three of them on her. And that was stone cold and very, very funny.
And I, I believe my skeet was Fed. Girls, we ain't jobbing for you.
My world and new.
Yeah, you just had the job a few times. Like that's all you had to do and. Yeah, yeah. All right.
[01:15:45] Speaker A: Well, there's not even a guarantee that Tegan and her wife would have gotten up there to the same level.
But you know, you never know.
Yeah. I actually have in my notes, like, there was discourse about this match happening. Now because my world is defending against Persephone, there's discourse about this match.
[01:16:06] Speaker C: I'm glad I didn't know what that is.
[01:16:08] Speaker A: I. Yeah, I don't know what it is. I can't imagine why don't have discourse about matches.
I think that unless like something crazy
[01:16:16] Speaker C: happens, I mean, we'd have discourse about matches on here.
[01:16:20] Speaker A: Yeah. And I'm always right. And that's fine.
[01:16:26] Speaker C: It's true. You are.
[01:16:28] Speaker A: Ella's not here to defend herself or I know the Hateful Tommy Chompers.
But yeah, this, I like this match. This match was a lot of good.
[01:16:39] Speaker C: I like this better than her match with Cheetah. Tbh.
[01:16:43] Speaker A: And I mean, I haven't seen that one but like. Yeah, you haven't seen it. Persephone's got like.
Persephone is really, really good at like talking on camera.
[01:16:54] Speaker C: Such a good bully. Just a huge piece of.
But like she, she has it like any good heel, she has that, that furious energy and that ferocity to back it up too.
It's not just talk and then crumble, it's talk and then dominate your opponent.
[01:17:16] Speaker A: Yeah, because like she had the power advantage a lot in this, but Maya had speed and she's actually able to take advantage of like just being stronger than her.
My. One of my favorite bits was Persephone's choking her and Aubrey's like, you can't choke her. And she's like, haha, yes I can.
[01:17:37] Speaker C: I like Aubrey very clearly. You can't choke her.
[01:17:42] Speaker A: I love when the referee is just like, please follow the rules. And the heel is just like, you can't. You literally cannot stop me.
[01:17:53] Speaker C: What do you got there?
Nice. No,
[01:17:58] Speaker A: there was even when that, that Darby match, when Max hands her the ring, it's like that was in your pants.
Oh God.
Yep.
Persephone. Persephone is great. She is, she is fantastic.
[01:18:21] Speaker C: Roh women's heavyweight for like 500 days. Like just.
What?
[01:18:28] Speaker A: Persephone?
[01:18:29] Speaker C: No, Persephone.
[01:18:30] Speaker A: Persephone. I know, I know. It's like the Greek. We have Greek. Yeah. Names here. But like Stephanie's. Did I say Athena? Sorry, I don't know.
[01:18:39] Speaker B: I don't say.
I've just been watching y' all talk for a second. I'm sorry, the links game is on. I swear, I'm a professional podcast.
[01:18:47] Speaker A: You know what, lady? Squeakums you. Craig. I blame his glassy eyed stare. Yeah, this match, I got it.
[01:18:56] Speaker B: I just. I'm rooting for the lesbians. I gotta.
[01:18:59] Speaker A: I mean, everybody. I'm always reading Phil. I'm usually rooting for the lesbians. There's some lesbians I don't root for. It's kind of, it's like, it's.
No, it's situational. You know, with all these things, it's situational.
[01:19:09] Speaker C: You have. Yeah, you have to have.
[01:19:11] Speaker B: That's a direct quote from.
From Olivia Miles, future rookie of the year. Because she's. She, she's doing things that like I don't even watch basketball. And I'm like, you're not, you can't do that.
Like I'm watching. I mean, that's not. No, that's not allowed. What the. You know, like, and it's her rookie year and she's like breaking records and. Yeah. Like I just watch her do some just crazy. That's neither here nor there.
Where were we?
[01:19:37] Speaker A: Grabs Persephone.
Yeah, I. I loved her.
Yeah. She has a cml. She's the CMLL champion.
[01:19:48] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:19:48] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:19:49] Speaker C: And oh, I said roh. Duh. Oh, I apologize, I apologize.
[01:19:53] Speaker A: But I don't think she's. I don't think she's been CMLL champion for like 500 days.
[01:19:58] Speaker B: That's Athena, the champion of my freaking heart.
[01:20:05] Speaker A: But yeah, like I thought that.
Yeah, Persephone's like her whole heat segment was really good. I liked it. Yeah. She even like flirted with Aubrey. Get it?
[01:20:14] Speaker B: Let's go.
[01:20:15] Speaker A: Yeah, let's go.
Great commentary moment. Persephone stomping a mud hole on Maya. World in the corner. And Excalibur s. Taz. Does that qualify as a mud hole? And Taz just goes, I think so.
There's no mud, but there's definitely a lot of humidity in this room.
Yeah, there's no mud, there's no hole, but there's a lot of humidity in this room.
[01:20:41] Speaker C: Humidity to make some.
[01:20:43] Speaker B: We'll have to see if she walks it dry after she stomps it out. Taz. That's the only way to know.
[01:20:49] Speaker A: Yep.
So they come back from the commercial and Persephone is working some leg submissions. And then Maya escapes and gets a couple Cazadoras and roll ups and she's firmly in control. Gets a shining wizard and a bridging suplex as it gets countered and just Persephone picks her up and does the sack of fall away slam.
Then hits a big suicida. She's like, I'm so smart.
[01:21:14] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:21:18] Speaker A: Immediately, immediately gets tornado DDT'd on the floor like in the next instant.
So they're back in. Maya's fighting back, but then Persephone takes her head off with a short arm Lariat capture. German suplex only gets to like, yeah, leg capture. That look.
[01:21:42] Speaker B: Damn.
[01:21:42] Speaker A: I don't know why that looks so much painful, but it looks like it sucks and look like a gig Me give me like a hamstring cramp.
[01:21:50] Speaker B: I. I watched Eddie Kingston drop a. A couple with a very similar suplex. And let me tell you, from 10ft away it looks really painful.
[01:22:08] Speaker A: I don't think there's a good way to take that.
[01:22:10] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:22:11] Speaker A: No.
[01:22:12] Speaker B: And he was and he was just throwing them around like candy.
I still haven't washed my left hand.
[01:22:19] Speaker C: Right, right, right.
[01:22:22] Speaker A: Ew.
[01:22:24] Speaker C: No, she's got the film on it.
[01:22:26] Speaker B: Yeah, I got things. I got the bubble on it.
[01:22:28] Speaker A: That's right. That's right. Okay. I don't have to smell it, then. That's fine.
They did. There's, like, a corner, corner stomp. And then my world gets a moonsault. And then she just shows up.
Oh, yeah.
And she passes her kendo stick to Persephone.
Persephone's gonna hit her with it. And then Statlander arrives, makes a save, takes the candlestick away, and Maya is able to roll up Persephone to get the win. And the winner is Maya. World retains.
[01:23:00] Speaker C: That's a callback because Persephone helped Sheeta get the belt. Yes.
[01:23:06] Speaker B: Huh? Yes.
[01:23:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:23:08] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:23:09] Speaker A: Yes. And she eliminated Statland.
[01:23:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:23:13] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:23:15] Speaker A: Yeah. She cost. Stat. That match, the.
It wasn't a casino gauntlet. It was a battle royale.
[01:23:22] Speaker C: No, it was the six woman.
[01:23:25] Speaker A: Oh, the six pack. You're right. Oh, the survival of the fittest.
[01:23:28] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:23:29] Speaker B: Survival of the fittest.
[01:23:30] Speaker A: Survival of the fittest. The elimination.
[01:23:35] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:23:35] Speaker A: That match sucked. The six pack. Not the survival of the.
[01:23:40] Speaker C: I was.
[01:23:41] Speaker A: I was wondering.
[01:23:41] Speaker C: I was like. Huh? I thought we liked it.
[01:23:44] Speaker A: Yeah, no, I loved it. I love survival of the fittest. I don't like six pack.
[01:23:49] Speaker C: Yeah, that's fair.
[01:23:50] Speaker A: Because Stone Cold liked his beer, so it was a six pack off.
[01:23:54] Speaker C: Oh, God.
[01:23:56] Speaker B: He also beat his wife.
[01:23:58] Speaker A: He also beat his wife.
Yep. So stat celebrates with Maya and blows a raspberry at Persephone.
I'm all about it.
[01:24:09] Speaker B: I'm into every. Literally all of this is. Is just great.
[01:24:12] Speaker A: There's nothing bad here.
[01:24:13] Speaker B: Here for the girls. Again. Again. To quote Olivia Miles, I'm just. I'm rooting for the lesbians, the gays of A's, all them.
I can't help it.
[01:24:26] Speaker A: All right, Mark Davis gets another promo.
[01:24:28] Speaker B: This mother.
[01:24:31] Speaker A: He talks about his national embarrassment. He's £10.
[01:24:36] Speaker B: Which nation?
[01:24:38] Speaker A: Which nation? Nina.
[01:24:39] Speaker B: Nina Manasha.
Which one?
[01:24:43] Speaker A: The national title.
And because he lost ten, he's ten pounds later. Stop being mean to the other Sasquatch. I guess he's a galley. Since he's from Australia.
[01:24:54] Speaker B: He's got a. Yeah. He's like. Yeah, that's funny. He's just. I. I need him to stop dressing like my brother's racist friends growing up. Okay? Like, he's freaking me out.
[01:25:05] Speaker C: It.
[01:25:05] Speaker B: He's really. It's. It's just. It breaks my brain every time I'm just like, you got a rebel freak flag on your truck, and this is Wisconsin.
[01:25:13] Speaker C: He's a very intimidating man.
[01:25:16] Speaker B: He is. And so was my brother's racist friends.
He scares me.
[01:25:22] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah.
[01:25:24] Speaker B: The national champion. But I worry it's a. It's a. Like a. An ethno nation.
[01:25:28] Speaker A: No, I don't think he's like that, man.
[01:25:31] Speaker B: It's the camo. I have. I have. I have biases. I'm sorry.
[01:25:35] Speaker A: I have camo.
Nice.
[01:25:37] Speaker C: That's lived experiences.
[01:25:40] Speaker B: Yeah, well. Well, camo on women, that's different. That's.
That. That's a whole different thing. It's the men folk that's scary.
[01:25:47] Speaker A: The men folk.
He's. He's mad about losing the national title, and he doesn't want it back. He's gonna just beat up Will Ospreay on general principles.
He tells him that will. Will beat him in the Good Man. Oh, and the Owen Tournament. And that win has an asterisk because he needed the Death Riders to help him, but he's got no cool kids to sit with anymore, so he'll leave the Don Callis family at home. It'll be Ospreay vs Davis at Arena Mexico next week.
And then Chompy the Shark mascot comes out to dance with commentary, please. And Tony Schiavone sings Chompy Shark.
That's not the words.
[01:26:43] Speaker C: There are numerous times in which I feel Taz thinks that this show is angle to terrorize and hate and hurt him. Specifically like this in the Willow Nightingale or spot. I have to imagine he was like, oh, this man. What is all this?
[01:27:02] Speaker B: I mean, sometimes, like you said, like Erica put it, the. The. The. The. The pod. That is the commentary booth. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[01:27:15] Speaker A: He.
[01:27:15] Speaker B: He absolutely is like me sometimes when y' all are really laying it on thick, and I'm just like. I had this stupid show, stupid podcast.
[01:27:27] Speaker A: Just call the pod, dude.
[01:27:30] Speaker B: Yeah, just call the pod.
[01:27:33] Speaker A: What's the next segment? Well, next segment. Moving on. Taz, I'm dying.
[01:27:44] Speaker C: Shark can't dance. Taz also takes real umbrella that the shark is a dancer. And it is.
[01:27:50] Speaker A: Yeah, it is.
I wonder if that was also Aaron Solo, because Aaron Solo was. Remember when they had the.
The. The Vita Coco box? Oh, yes.
[01:28:02] Speaker C: Yes, I do.
[01:28:03] Speaker A: And that was. That was Aaron Solo. So maybe. Maybe it's.
[01:28:07] Speaker C: There was interference. The cocoa. The thing interfered with the match.
I remember I was like, what the. Why is the. Why is the box of coconut water?
[01:28:18] Speaker A: I. I have triggered a hard memory for hampter here because they are like, Very.
[01:28:27] Speaker C: The neuros. Their neurons, the tiny brain cells. Fire that. What are you doing? This is not. You're not sanctioned. Get out of here.
[01:28:37] Speaker B: That's okay. I literally just recovered from. Call the pie.
Holy.
[01:28:45] Speaker A: All right, so we. We have to get serious because this was possibly the best segment in a long time on Dynamite. And this is Willow Nightingale's championship celebration.
[01:28:56] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, I'm turning off the ladies grabs there. Or the ladies squeakums. They are like 30 points ahead.
[01:29:03] Speaker A: So a lady squeakums. So, yeah, she gets a gigantic pop as her music hits and comes out. And Taz is just like, you can't trust people who smile too much. And that includes Renee.
She gets.
They. They have. Everybody's got like, they. They handed out signs apparently, for people made their own signs. They were streamers. Like, the ring was just.
And they never cleaned it up too.
[01:29:37] Speaker C: Yeah, it's so gorgeous. It was actually really pretty. I thought it was lovely.
[01:29:43] Speaker A: Oh, I'll actually bring this up since she. Yeah. Willow won the title at Redemption and she apparently made most of her outfit herself. Like, she stitched it.
[01:29:53] Speaker B: Oh, that sounds about right.
[01:29:55] Speaker A: She had to get like last minute stuff done by like the. The costume crew. But like. Yeah, like, she posted video of her making the thing and then her cat's getting in the way.
[01:30:08] Speaker B: What I love is her and Athena and Bianca Belair, they all do. They all make their own. Their own gear and it all rules. Like, Bianca, like, makes her husband's gear and like. Yeah, like, that's. That's so crazy. That's. That's awesome.
[01:30:28] Speaker A: I know it's. I know it's like really common on the indies, especially for, like the women to make their own.
[01:30:36] Speaker B: Like, if you want cool gear, you kind of, you know, like, no one's gonna. No one's marketing to you. You kind of just have to do that. Oh, that sounds about right.
[01:30:44] Speaker A: Yeah. Yep.
See, a crowd is just going nuts for.
Renee points out that she is the first women's triple crown champion. She has been TBS champion, tag champion, and now world champion.
[01:31:00] Speaker B: Yeah, she almost starts crying there. I feel like that's about where. That's where I start squirting a little.
[01:31:07] Speaker A: She started. Yeah. She started to cry because the crowd is nearly immediately.
[01:31:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:31:13] Speaker A: Sharing and sharing and sharing.
[01:31:17] Speaker C: Roaring.
[01:31:18] Speaker A: Yep. She says she's grateful and she's not just living a dream. She's living her dream.
She talks about how she had doubters her entire career.
She didn't look the part of somebody that would make it in the business because for all kinds of reasons that she lists.
[01:31:42] Speaker B: Larger girl.
[01:31:43] Speaker A: Yeah. And some she doesn't. Yep.
[01:31:46] Speaker C: Quirky.
[01:31:48] Speaker A: Quirky. Happy, upbeat.
[01:31:49] Speaker C: That's what she focused. Yeah. That's what she focuses on.
[01:31:53] Speaker A: And, yeah, they didn't.
Someone like her, they would look at her and think it wouldn't happen.
In the past year, she. She made people happy.
And, like, the crowd just starts, like, again, cheering for, like, really, really, really hard. And she starts, like, now she starts crying. She says the makeup artists work really hard on my makeup. Please just let me get this out first.
[01:32:17] Speaker B: The look on. The look on Renee's face was, like, the realest thing I've ever seen. Like, h. Having been in green rooms with a bunch of people putting makeup on, it's just like.
Yeah, like, that's funny. Like, that was just, like. That was just a real moment of, like, a hold on.
It gets worse. Yeah.
[01:32:39] Speaker A: Y.
Yeah. She talks about, like, it's this. This has been a great year for her. Like, she became one of the first women's tag team champion. She beat Mercedes to become TBS champion.
She got hurt, and it took her to a dark place, but it was her mother that pulled her out of it and told her, you have two options. You can give up or fight.
She mentions that her mother calls her the warrior princess, which gets a warrior princess chant.
[01:33:07] Speaker B: Warrior princess chat. Because.
Yeah, it does.
[01:33:11] Speaker A: Which, like, again, like, now Willow is, like, pretty much openly crying.
[01:33:16] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. And I'm just.
[01:33:19] Speaker C: Oh, there's a mom chant, too. Like, right.
[01:33:23] Speaker A: Like, the crowd was just, like, I've never seen a crowd happier for a wrestler.
[01:33:27] Speaker C: Never any wrestler.
[01:33:29] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:33:30] Speaker A: Like, so she says she fought to get into the casino gauntlet. She beat Tecla, who is a dangerous champion, and she won the championship. And she's got one message to everyone.
[01:33:45] Speaker C: How you know.
[01:33:46] Speaker A: Yes. Thank you.
[01:33:48] Speaker B: Oh, you know.
[01:33:49] Speaker A: How you know. No, she says, if life has been kicking you around, don't you dare give up.
Don't do it. Okay. Keep fighting.
Keep pushing through.
Because sometimes the comeback is even better than the dream. Yep. That, like, I watched it again this morning.
You.
[01:34:10] Speaker B: Willow.
Like, I watched replay. I. I rewounded. I wrote it down. I was like, that's.
[01:34:23] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:34:24] Speaker B: Like, I. I need to have that on a. On a note, like, just to remember, because I really thought I would. I. Like, I was under the impression I was living the dream. It was just another nightmare.
And, like, the comeback is a lot of promise. So, like, I really needed to hear that. Willow, thank you.
I really appreciate it.
[01:34:45] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:34:47] Speaker B: And you deserve everything you get. And I hope Long may you reign.
[01:34:53] Speaker A: Oh, go ahead, Hampton.
[01:34:56] Speaker C: Yeah, sorry, I just. Super quick. Like, I really liked Tekla. I. I wish I had seen her defend more, but, like, they clearly know what they're doing with Willow. Like, she's just. She's over. Like, she's all of us. She's just.
[01:35:11] Speaker A: Yeah, Willow's been the workhorse.
[01:35:14] Speaker B: Yeah, she's earned it. She's, like, earned, like. Willow is one of the people who drew me to the product. I will never forget
[01:35:25] Speaker A: her.
[01:35:25] Speaker B: And I want to say it was her and Ruby Soho. Ruby Soho had a death match against, I want to say Tayjay. Right. Or was it one of them in the Bunny, I think, where they had a death match and all of the women just bled so much and, like, all of these. These tiny, tiny, tiny, fragile, little men on the Internet, like, just their dicks. Right?
[01:35:53] Speaker A: It was Willow and. Well, no, because Willow wrestled a lot of hardcore matches.
[01:35:58] Speaker B: Willow, Willow, and Ruby, because they were in Dudley Getups, they. They, like, did full.
[01:36:04] Speaker A: But they did, like, it was in Philly, I think.
[01:36:07] Speaker B: Yeah, because it was in Philly and she did the Bubba bomb with the full on, like, disassociated stare after, and it was so sick. And I think she actually hurt whoever she did it to, though, because she missed the table.
But it was. It was the table's fault. It wasn't Will as well.
No, never good. But even. Even impersonating Uncle Bully, it was fine in that moment. I loved it. It made me happy.
But, yeah, like, that. I will never forget that. Like, she was that match. I was just like, this is. Yeah, I never. I've never seen women bleed like that on television. Like, holy.
Like, that was. Yeah, I'm sticking around. Yeah, this is. This is my graps.
[01:36:55] Speaker C: Super, super quick, because I know there's more to this, but very. If I may just jump. 1997 just finished uncensored, and it's Public Enemy versus Harlem Heat. And Johnny Grudge gets busted open and so does, like, sister Sherry.
The cameras refused to go to them, so it's all pulled back shots, and everything is focused on the other two. We were like, wait, somebody busted open? What? Because we saw a smear and it, like. Yeah, I was just like, fucking cowards. It's pay per view.
[01:37:31] Speaker B: How you are still. You are still in the era where they shied away from it instead of embracing it.
They didn't realize that this ECW shit, that Paulie left the company and was actually onto something. They didn't realize that that crazy Terry Funk was actually on something they didn't realize yet.
[01:37:54] Speaker C: Public Enemy. And I'm just like, Public Enemy is a PG version of ecw. Like, people want it.
[01:38:01] Speaker A: Well, yeah, that's where they came from.
[01:38:03] Speaker B: They're literally ecw. They're literally.
No. Public Enemy was literally an ECW tag team that got taken to wcw.
[01:38:13] Speaker A: They were, wow, insanely over at ecw, and it never really transferred into wcw, but, like, they were.
[01:38:20] Speaker B: No. And it also was a little rough. I think when it went back, they kind of got like a little, like, you focus. Sold out.
[01:38:27] Speaker C: You know, I didn't see the ECW fans being very unforgiving.
[01:38:32] Speaker B: Oh, totally normal. Normal people. Salt of the earth.
[01:38:37] Speaker C: Completely average.
[01:38:40] Speaker A: Really? Really Minorities about my people.
[01:38:46] Speaker B: I am.
[01:38:47] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, sorry.
[01:38:53] Speaker A: They're just kind of mountain folk.
There's no mountains in Philadelphia.
[01:39:01] Speaker C: No, I'm sorry. I'm. Wrong side of Pennsylvania. I apologize.
[01:39:05] Speaker A: Yeah, that's like the Pittsburgh.
[01:39:10] Speaker B: Pittsburgh.
[01:39:12] Speaker A: And they're flightly.
[01:39:13] Speaker C: I know.
[01:39:18] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:39:20] Speaker A: No, wait, that's Tennessee. That's where they're not. All right, sorry. We're not talking about Noblins. All right, so the segment would have been great if. If. If the segment ended with Willow's little promo, that would have been great. But Mercedes Monet comes out.
She's got, like, this crazy. She always has the best outfits, but she's got, like, this long train.
So she gets into the ring and she doesn't even bother, like, doing anything. She just lets it get, like, caught in all the streamers, which was awesome.
Crowd is booing the.
Out of her.
[01:39:56] Speaker C: Holy crap. I was just like, they should. I owe them money and I want the.
[01:40:02] Speaker A: And she's. She comes out and she says, you know, like, I'm not here to ruin your celebration. I'm out here for business. Because how many times it will in Monet have a championship celebration that got interrupted?
And she says, sign the damn contract for all in right now. So Willow just, like, says, yeah, sure, and just, like, puts the contract on her chest and signs it on her chest.
Like, just immediately, just like, not even hesitated.
It's official.
And Willow wants to know what her problem is. Is she like, did you not get enough attention or are you mad that Willow ended her TBS title reign? Or is it because she got the one championship that Mercedes can't get?
And Mercedes goes into this long thing about. You know what I hate about you the most? It's not your smile or that people like you.
And it's that every single milestone in her career in aew, Willow's name is next to it. So when she got hurt in New Japan is because she lost to Willow.
When she came to a W, she had to go through Willow to get the TBS title. And then she lost a TBS title to Willow. And now she's the one person holding the thing that she's destined to take.
[01:41:18] Speaker C: And that makes screaming, shut the fuck up.
[01:41:21] Speaker A: Yeah. Crowd is pissed at her. Crowd is just like, just furious with her.
Every defining moment in my career. You're smiling and I have to pick up the pieces at all in. I'm finally going to end your fairy tale.
And they go into this thing about how, like, they're arguing back and forth and like, eventually the only reason people cheer for is you stood across the ring from Mercedes Monet. I made you. I elevated your career and at all in. I'm going to take your title and your smile.
They argue divine dominion come in. Like, it's actually very easy to believe that they snuck up on anybody because you can't see through the streamers.
They attack Willow. They give her the double choke slam. The brawling birds come out to make the save.
Battle lines are drawn. That entire segment gave me chills. Like, that was awesome. The crowd just on fire for the whole thing.
Excellent, excellent work for everybody involved.
[01:42:27] Speaker C: That's. Yeah, I.
[01:42:29] Speaker A: That's the match I care about the most now.
[01:42:33] Speaker C: I'm so excited to see this at all in. I mean, this.
The pay per view that Tony Khan clearly loves. Like, they're pushing this super hard, but yeah, I'm looking forward to this intensely.
[01:42:48] Speaker B: No, this, like that, that. This whole thing just instantly pushed it to, like, the top of the top of the card for me. More so than. Than.
I'm good. I'm just gonna go ahead and throw it out there. More so than Kenny retaining.
[01:43:05] Speaker C: Oh, that'd be. Oh, that would be real gross.
[01:43:08] Speaker B: A girl can dream. Okay.
[01:43:12] Speaker C: Real gross.
[01:43:13] Speaker B: Make them.
[01:43:13] Speaker A: Make them.
[01:43:14] Speaker B: Make them wait. Make him wait one more time.
[01:43:20] Speaker A: Just like Cody.
[01:43:22] Speaker B: Just like Cody. Thank you. I just think that that would be real hot. Okay.
[01:43:28] Speaker C: The hype and gas they've given only for them to be. Like,
[01:43:35] Speaker A: sometimes.
Sometimes it's just funny when that happens.
[01:43:42] Speaker B: Yes.
I can only get so right.
I can't even credit for it because I think this was also a thought that happened.
[01:43:51] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:43:51] Speaker B: On Waffle. Ebolics. But I. I remember when. When they said I was like, yes, yes, yes.
[01:44:06] Speaker A: Like, I'll. I will buy that for a dollar.
[01:44:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[01:44:11] Speaker A: Oh, that works because that movie's set in Detroit. So we're in Detroit. Yay.
Remember that time robocop shot that guy in the dick?
[01:44:23] Speaker B: Hashtag never forget. Okay.
[01:44:26] Speaker A: Continental Championship match. Jon Moxley defending against Commander.
This was really funny because the crowd reaction to Moxley, who three days ago suggested that Will Ospreay murder Kenny Omega on pay per view, is cheered as a hero as he comes out.
[01:44:52] Speaker C: They love. Oh, yeah.
[01:44:54] Speaker A: And then, like, halfway through the match, they remember he's from Ohio. So they just start.
[01:45:00] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:45:00] Speaker A: Ohio.
[01:45:02] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:45:05] Speaker C: As a native born, I was like, wow.
[01:45:08] Speaker B: And then suddenly, suddenly. I don't like the temperature one, though.
[01:45:12] Speaker C: Wow.
[01:45:13] Speaker A: I don't like the temperature.
[01:45:14] Speaker C: Who's up? The temperature in here?
This.
[01:45:20] Speaker B: Wow.
[01:45:21] Speaker A: I like actually Mox's entrance because he, he came out the elevator.
[01:45:30] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:45:31] Speaker B: Oh, no. I, I. Oh, here, here. If you're gonna, if you're gonna insist on doing, like, the Fedeff amplification of, of new intro music where, like, Leo Rush's new song starts with. It's fine before it goes into the music. And you got how, you know, on Andrade is.
So you should give Mox new music. And just right before anything, everything goes quiet. Lights go out. The red light comes on. I don't like the temperature in here.
[01:46:08] Speaker C: Or it's something, though. Pull the tr. Pull the trigger. Would go real hard, actually.
[01:46:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, that would actually.
[01:46:15] Speaker A: Oh, he's always got, like, the, the revving up thing of the motorcycle because of the death. Right. Which is. Which was that. That was his.
In his A W.
His WWE single theme was.
[01:46:32] Speaker B: Yeah.
[01:46:32] Speaker A: It was like, crazy Dean Ambrose. He's the lunatic fringe.
[01:46:39] Speaker B: Lunatic fringe, ladies and gentlemen.
[01:46:42] Speaker A: He's got mustard and cat. He's got mustard and ketchup bottles. That's amazing.
[01:46:47] Speaker C: Holy.
[01:46:48] Speaker A: He's gonna squirt. He's feuding with Chris Jericho over a cactus. Incredible.
And then he got suicidal.
[01:46:56] Speaker B: I don't want to think about it. Okay? I don't.
[01:46:59] Speaker A: I don't want to think about it either, because apparently he got, like, super depressed about that whole.
[01:47:04] Speaker C: No kidding.
[01:47:05] Speaker B: No way. Really? The ace.
[01:47:07] Speaker C: Wow.
[01:47:07] Speaker B: I'm super impressed. Pro wrestling.
[01:47:09] Speaker C: You said.
You said, like, six words, one of two of them proper nouns. And I was like, oh, God, I'm so sad.
[01:47:23] Speaker B: The man for which this, like, is his literal blood and guts.
Like, who, who loves this more than life itself? Don't tell Renee. You know, like, like, that's sure. The lunatic fringe.
God, but I'm sad now.
[01:47:46] Speaker A: Mox was very good.
He was dad. There's, like, a lot of stuff happened there. It's because it's like, it's it's. Moxley's bigger than Commander. So it's like big guy versus little guy match. And Max is very good at making little guys offense look good.
[01:48:08] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:48:09] Speaker A: And he like does it in a smart way. So like he walks away from Commander trying to do the, the spacewalk first. Yeah.
[01:48:17] Speaker C: And he just goes for a suicide dive. I was like, listen, sometimes the classics are, you know.
[01:48:22] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:48:22] Speaker C: Old reliable, you know, direct.
[01:48:25] Speaker A: Direct action.
[01:48:26] Speaker C: Yes.
[01:48:28] Speaker A: Always gets results.
Then.
No, that's not the title.
Folks at home, whenever you listen to this. Well, I'll, I'll let you know if that's like the title is what Ella just said.
Anyway, anyway, they, the, they do some stuff and then like Mox is like actually doing a little bit of heel stuff. So like he, he begs off a little bit, but then thumbs Commander in the eyes and then just sits him in a chair and kick him in the chest. And that's kind of when the Ohio chance start.
[01:49:03] Speaker C: Yeah, they're always bullying Commander.
[01:49:07] Speaker A: Yeah, it's, it's, it's. Commander gets his cool dives in and like he does his thrust kicks to get offense.
And then Mox just is like you.
That's so like just get to the end.
He thrusts, kicks Mox. And Commander wants the rope. Gets the. Actually gets the rope walk. Spaceman dive.
He goes for his finisher. Was it the Ciolito Lindo?
Misses and mock. Just curb stomps him. Hits a Death Rider and then just as a you opens the door, jams it in, chokes it out. Commander taps.
[01:49:48] Speaker C: This is 1300 singles wins for Moxley.
[01:49:51] Speaker A: Wow.
[01:49:52] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:49:52] Speaker A: Amazing.
[01:49:54] Speaker C: And I think championship.
[01:50:01] Speaker B: I'm trying to pretend I didn't hear what you said.
Just no sell best of my ability.
[01:50:12] Speaker C: He'll never escape.
[01:50:14] Speaker A: It'll never stop. It'll never stop.
[01:50:18] Speaker B: I gotta make stronger drugs
[01:50:23] Speaker A: stop us.
[01:50:26] Speaker C: No antibiotic in the world can stop us.
[01:50:29] Speaker A: Puny Mortal Z Packs.
They couldn't save Phil and they won't save you.
Mick Foley is interviewing the Bang Bang Gang And I think J.Y. is hurt. I don't know if he's like real hurt or if he's selling something.
[01:50:47] Speaker C: He's not even here tonight.
[01:50:49] Speaker A: He's not here. Juice says that they've been screwed by the Dogs and the Death Riders and he challenges any combination of them to a four way match or a four on four match on collision, which is tonight.
And Mick gives a cheap pop and says Detroit, Michigan and does his thumbs up.
It's a thing.
[01:51:15] Speaker C: It's a bank.
[01:51:15] Speaker A: Jay White, please don't be hurt. You just came back and that would suck. We need more Jay White.
All right, this was the point.
No, go ahead.
[01:51:28] Speaker C: No, I just. I really liked asos and he's like, mick, things aren't good. We're big. We got big. Bang Bang Bang has big problems.
They're. It's very. They're very serious. Which is funny because usually they're very exuberant. Like there was Colton didn't know groin shop. So, you know, they're. They're in serious mode here.
[01:51:53] Speaker A: There's no.
[01:51:54] Speaker C: No groin, you know, when he's not feeling well. Yeah.
[01:51:57] Speaker A: When your Coltons don't do their grind chops, you got to take them to the vet.
Especially. Especially if they're not. Their cold, wet nose is a little warm and dry. Yeah, yeah, take them to the vet. Take your Colton to the vet, folks. Get them spayed annuity while you're there.
[01:52:11] Speaker C: Yes, please.
[01:52:17] Speaker A: Possible gun ownership. Yes, that's what it is.
Spayed and neutered.
Good luck.
Oh.
[01:52:31] Speaker B: All right.
[01:52:33] Speaker A: It's actually fair that this episode is going long because it is. At this point, we get to a world trios championship match of the conglomeration, And it was like five minutes before, like the. The top of the hour.
[01:52:55] Speaker B: He's like, we'll stay with you, folks.
[01:52:57] Speaker A: Yeah, we'll stay with it. Because we still have to hear from Kenny Omega.
[01:53:01] Speaker B: Yeah, he did it twice. He's like, we'll stay with you. And then about halfway through the match, he's like, here's a reminder. We're gonna stay with this. And also, we still have Kenny.
[01:53:12] Speaker C: Yeah, also. Yeah, there's more to come.
[01:53:15] Speaker A: I think they just planned out.
They did. They did a thing. 30 minute overrun. And I think that was actually planned.
[01:53:22] Speaker C: You gotta. You gotta. There's no way.
[01:53:25] Speaker A: There's no way.
[01:53:25] Speaker B: I have a theory.
I have. I have a theory that. That every episode of their show is contracted.
30 minutes for overrun.
You know what I mean? Like, it. It's in there. And when they don't. Because they usually don't meet it. They'd make that up by always having the countdowns to the shows.
[01:53:52] Speaker A: Yep.
[01:53:53] Speaker B: Yeah. Because then there's still me. Or they'll do something to meet their. Their contractual.
[01:53:58] Speaker A: Yeah, they'll do like battle for a third hour.
[01:54:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, exactly. They'll make. They make it up somewhere else. It's like summer school.
So, like, I think that's. I think that that's what's. I think I finally cracked that. Tony, I know you're listening Please tell me if I. If I'm a smart girl and I did
[01:54:18] Speaker A: let her know.
[01:54:20] Speaker B: Tell me. I am. Good girl. Thank you. But not in that way. I. I don't like you like that. I'm sorry.
[01:54:26] Speaker A: Yeah. Don't make it weird, Tony.
[01:54:27] Speaker B: Yeah, make it weird.
[01:54:29] Speaker A: Don't make it.
[01:54:29] Speaker B: We have a good thing going here.
[01:54:30] Speaker A: Yep.
[01:54:31] Speaker B: You know what this was?
[01:54:34] Speaker A: Yeah. So the. The demand try and do their pose. Bishop Khan just like. He's like that and just charges the ring.
And they just look at him like, where'd he.
[01:54:45] Speaker B: Where'd he go? And he's like, my murder.
[01:54:48] Speaker A: It's like, wait, I thought we were here to win. Yeah. So, like, they. They brawl a bunch before the bell even rings on the outside.
Yeah, they do a lot of cool stuff. Ricochet does a gigantic dive from, like. Because first off, I haven't mentioned this. The venue looks cool as hell. It looks sick as hell. Oh, yeah. It's a Masonic.
[01:55:08] Speaker B: It's a Masonic.
[01:55:09] Speaker A: Yeah, it looks really cool.
[01:55:11] Speaker B: I've been. I've. I've been in Masonic temples.
The Masonic Temple, my hometown is, oddly enough for my understanding, where the local wrestling promotion works out of.
Run by a certain leprechaun.
And so I've been inside that Masonic Temple, and it's really cool and creepy as at the exact same time. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So, like, exactly what it looked like on tv. Like, wow, that's really cool. And also kind of gives me the ick.
[01:55:40] Speaker A: And.
[01:55:41] Speaker B: And, like.
[01:55:42] Speaker A: Yeah, like, the way that it's set up is the. You have, like, the. The stage, and then the ramp is very short, and, like, there's, like, a little bit of gap. So, like, the rings, like, the stage ramp ring is, like, it's very, very close together. It's not a long walk. So Ricochet does, like, his huge tope con hilo dive from, like, the stage, over all of that, into the whole conglomeration.
[01:56:13] Speaker C: It was so good.
[01:56:15] Speaker A: Really cool.
He's a good.
He's a flippy little boy. As Chuck Taylor once said, no matter
[01:56:24] Speaker C: how hard he tries to deny it,
[01:56:30] Speaker A: It's. It's cool. We actually officially start with Orange Cassidy and Toy Leona. And Orange puts his hands in his pockets, and Toa says, that's adorable. Grabs him by the wrist and just lifts him up in the air.
[01:56:44] Speaker C: Oh, my God.
[01:56:47] Speaker A: That's incredible.
[01:56:48] Speaker C: That Joe was so. Yeah. It's so funny because you only usually see Roderick Strong doing that to him.
[01:56:55] Speaker A: Yep. Yep.
[01:56:56] Speaker C: Sorry.
[01:56:57] Speaker A: Yeah, well, it comes back really quickly. They. They do some heat on Orange. And then they tag Roddy in. And Roddy's like, ah, let me grab a weapon and picks up Orange Cassie and starts chucking him around.
[01:57:09] Speaker C: His favorite thing to do.
[01:57:11] Speaker A: They should do like a side scrolling brawler with AEW wrestlers. And Orange Cassidy is just a weapon.
Yes.
Like, what is that? Like, what's the one with the giant burly guy with the mustache? Oh, yeah, Ninja Turtles. That's like a good one. Streets of Rage.
[01:57:32] Speaker B: Yeah, Streets. Oh, yeah, the Streets of Rage. Or I was thinking like Donkey Kong, but instead of throwing barrels, you throw an army Orange Cassidy.
[01:57:40] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:57:40] Speaker A: Oh, no. Yeah, because you have. You have. Roddy is at the top and he's. Instead of like the little girlfriend.
It's Adam Cole.
It's so. It's. Yeah. And he's throwing Orange Cassidy's. And then it's Kyle O'Reilly's trying to jump up the tower to be like, stop, Stop. He's her friend. Stop.
[01:58:06] Speaker B: Every once in a while before he goes like. Like, does like a super boss Rod. He just yells super hard. That's amazing.
Holy.
Make it happen, Tony. Again.
[01:58:21] Speaker A: Yeah.
[01:58:22] Speaker B: Remember when you made it weird?
[01:58:23] Speaker A: Remember giving you so many ideas.
[01:58:25] Speaker B: Make it up to us. Yeah.
[01:58:29] Speaker A: Christ.
[01:58:31] Speaker B: Stupid podcast
[01:58:36] Speaker A: commentary goes silent during the commercial break. Because they go to a commercial break and they're probably being told, yes, it's fine. Don't worry.
Just call the match, dude.
[01:58:48] Speaker B: Yeah,
[01:58:52] Speaker A: yeah, they. Roddy. Roddy's getting worked over during the commercial, but then he comes back with his back breaker. And then they do some stuff with Kyle O'Reilly.
They. They go eight on ricochet ankle lock.
Long story short, it's just like a cluster of happening. Like, it's very cool, but like, they're clearly like spreading, spreading, spreading, spreading, spreading. The Lethal Twit. Lethal swirl. Lethal twist. It's lethal Twist.
[01:59:22] Speaker C: Lethal Twist.
[01:59:22] Speaker A: Lethal. Lethal twist comes out.
[01:59:24] Speaker B: But they call it twist. Twist.
[01:59:25] Speaker A: Yeah, they call it a twist.
They come out. They cause a distraction.
[01:59:29] Speaker B: They.
[01:59:30] Speaker A: The Blake Christian grabs like pop. It's like pop. It's not a twist.
[01:59:39] Speaker B: Pop and sort. It's a swirl.
[01:59:41] Speaker A: It's a swirl. It's a cola.
[01:59:43] Speaker B: That's my. That's my favorite kind of coke.
[01:59:50] Speaker A: So, yeah, like, there's all this going on. And then Blake Christian grabs a title belt and does this big dive and takes out OC with the belt.
And Ricochet gets a spirit gun. The OC and the Demand win. They're the new champions. It took a lot of bullshit for that to happen, but there are new champions. Nutritious. Champions are the demand.
So after the match, the heels all attack, and they're beating the crap out of them. And Birdie King comes down to help, but he gets swarmed too. And then Hangman Page's music hit. I actually. I will say. I will say. The crowd was chanting for the Motor City machine guns here, and probably the only person who could have come out that would have made them would have been Hangman Page. So very smart, Tony.
He's got a. He's got a steel chair with barbed wire wrapped around it.
[02:00:48] Speaker B: And my. I instantly, like, instinctually, as soon as I see that, I can't help but just do a.
Hey, hanger.
You got. You got barbed wire, steel chair. Yeah.
[02:01:01] Speaker A: Jay Lethal tries to grab the chair, but, like, he's an idiot and doesn't realize there's barbed wire on it or that barbed wire hurts.
So he's like.
And good. They say he buckshot.
Buckshots the cargo shorts off of Jay Lethal. Cool.
Crowd is happy. They still wanted the gun, the machine guns. Lol.
[02:01:26] Speaker B: I. I did. I have a feeling that they just had to come back the next day.
[02:01:30] Speaker A: I. I will. I will Check spoilers when we're done.
[02:01:33] Speaker B: So, yeah, I was gonna say it's
[02:01:37] Speaker A: time for the ending segment. No, no, it's not actually time for the ending segment. The Death Riders have to respond to the Bang Bang Gangs challenge. And Garcia.
[02:01:45] Speaker B: Do they.
[02:01:48] Speaker A: They do. And also so Garcia can get his fantastic line to Will. It says, hey, yeah, hard way in, hard way out.
[02:01:58] Speaker C: Harder. Even harder way out, even harder.
[02:02:01] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, Just push it in. Gotta push it out. And it's gonna be a little bit.
[02:02:05] Speaker B: You need to.
[02:02:05] Speaker A: You need.
[02:02:06] Speaker B: Look, can we. Hey, hey, hey. I'm getting tired, all right? I'm just.
I'm cp. I. I can't. I can't. I can't get any hornier.
[02:02:17] Speaker C: You can't. You can't hook it up and jam it in?
[02:02:20] Speaker B: No, I'm still sleeping.
All right, look, I want. I want to go with you to the Space. I do.
Because, like, Osprey even said. He even talked about. He's like. When he gave him the thing back, he's like, I loved it. I love the hangouts. I love the training.
I was like, of course you did. Prostate orgasms. Fuck yeah.
Like, it's awesome. Of course you love the training, but that's neither here nor there. All right, look, you woke me up and I went to the gay joke. I did it.
[02:02:53] Speaker A: Thank you.
[02:02:53] Speaker B: I was trying to avoid it.
[02:02:54] Speaker A: Important point. I think Garcia was making Is be careful removing your toys when you're done.
[02:03:01] Speaker C: Yes.
[02:03:03] Speaker B: Always, always, always playing.
[02:03:04] Speaker A: Basically, Mox. Mox is just like, I can't. He can't stand the way that people complain. Complain about the way they do things, because what they do is they meet people where they are.
And then he mentioned that everybody's talking about the Continental cup, and I'm like, who has said anything about a Continental Cup?
[02:03:22] Speaker B: What's that?
[02:03:23] Speaker A: Yeah, sir, it's 10:15. What are you talking about?
I think there's some kind of tournament. And Moxie says, like, maybe this is it. Maybe this is the end of his run. He'll go out in the hail of bullets and smoke.
Okay, sure.
I don't. I guess I feel like we missed, like, a side movie or something. Yeah, there's, like a killer episode.
[02:03:53] Speaker C: Yeah. There was, like, a small content online that we didn't watch.
[02:03:57] Speaker B: There was something somehow. Continental cup return returned Fortnite. Yeah.
[02:04:02] Speaker A: I mean, I don't know where the Continental cup returned from because it's never existed.
This is a brand new thing. It's like the content. Somebody said.
Somebody said the Continental cup was the. The co op cup that the Death Riders all share.
I forget who said that, but it was good. All right, we're closing out the show. Kenny Omega comes out good. And he starts. He starts to talk. Osprey just comes right out. And then they cut the music.
[02:04:39] Speaker C: More words in.
[02:04:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Crowd is crowded, is going wild.
And so, yeah, this is something he wanted to say just to Will, but since, you know, Will came out, let's make it fun. Let's do show and tell. And at Redemption, he showed him how he felt, and he showed him by giving him a one wig and angel. And he thought, get it? But maybe he didn't. So I'm going to do the tell part. He says I care about. He cares about Will. Remember, they made the promise to become champions, and he put their friendship before the belt 100% of the time.
And how did he repay him when his voice was laced with disappointment when he told Kenny that he gave up on himself and those words cut.
[02:05:27] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:05:27] Speaker A: But let me ask you, does it look like I gave up because Kenny won the championship? He gave Will plenty of warnings about the Death Riders. So what's your excuse now that it blew up in your face?
Will says, oh, I came back from neck and surgery too early because he wanted revenge. And he let that revenge slip through his fingers. He lost everything and short chains the fans because he couldn't deliver. He had no friends not even Kenny. He never actually tried to reach out to Kenny, as far as we know.
[02:06:00] Speaker C: Nope.
[02:06:00] Speaker A: And Mox was the one that saved him and gave him a new life and an opportunity. He doesn't look at Mox as the man who broke his neck, but as a four time world champion.
And yes, he liked the training. He liked being a death rider. He liked all the butt stuff.
[02:06:15] Speaker C: Camaraderie. I'm proud of him with the word camaraderie.
The camaraderie.
[02:06:22] Speaker B: And at that point Kenny was like, yes, yes, we've all had that full body, mind bending, prostate orgasm. We've all been there.
[02:06:31] Speaker A: The Jiz Israel.
[02:06:34] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:06:37] Speaker A: But like, the more that he got to know them, the more he liked them. And he understands why they're productive of aw, but he doesn't their share their philosophy of how to do it.
And he couldn't stand by seeing someone that he loved potentially going through the same thing he did with the broken neck.
And Kenny's all like, well, I. He didn't have the energy to fight back. He could feel the chair around his neck. He didn't have the energy to get out.
He felt the energy when Will came out, but then he just like, he sat there, he sat there, he sat there and eventually like, he. He got the energy to take the chair off his neck. And what did he see was Will holding his title with a ripped up plastic bag at his feet. And yeah, what makes it worse is expecting a thank you for a chap that osprey set himself. And you know, Will tries to argue and Kenny calls him a liar and slaps him and he's right to do so.
[02:07:35] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, that's a. It was like a real slap. His. His face turned red.
[02:07:41] Speaker A: Yep. He slapped the out of him. He's like, kenny was your friend. Well, not anymore. What am I? What, what am I to you now? Just a challenger? The guy to give you your belt in your hometown? Is that all I am? He slaps Osprey a couple more times.
[02:07:56] Speaker B: I'm the cleaner.
[02:07:59] Speaker A: He lays out Kenny for a second, warns him about putting his hands on him. He says he carried aw when Kenny was gone. He earned his spot. The challenge for the championship.
Omega. Omega is the biggest mountain that he has to climb. And then he says that the ace wants the ball, and he wants the ball because he's the ace.
And he makes a soccer reference that like, the 90 minutes are up, the extra time is done, they're in the penalty kicks. And he mentions that England isn't good at penalty Kicks. And it's like, just get to the point.
Yeah, please, please get to the point. It's his turn to kick. He can do it and he won't. He's gonna pull the trigger. He's not gonna pull it from behind.
He's gonna pull, go right up to Kenny's face and pull the trigger in his face. And he wants a man.
[02:08:48] Speaker B: We're shooting, we're wrestling. We're so sleepy.
[02:08:52] Speaker A: Yep. And, like, it's. It's over. It's done. Come. Jokes remain, you know, in the face, in the behind, crying.
[02:09:00] Speaker B: Crying tears of blood. Yeah.
[02:09:02] Speaker C: My partner, who is very straight and CIS comes in and he's like, that was okay.
Yeah, it was.
Yeah, it was.
Yeah, it was.
[02:09:17] Speaker A: It was. It was.
[02:09:19] Speaker C: I have two women in my ear. They're like, they're gonna kiss now, right? They're gonna kiss now. And then Omega smacks Will, and they're like, oh, no. And he's in. My friend me is like, wait, wait, wait. This. This is not over.
[02:09:32] Speaker A: They could still kiss.
[02:09:33] Speaker C: Yeah, they could still do it.
[02:09:37] Speaker B: So it's. Yes, quite, quite gay.
[02:09:40] Speaker A: I. I'm going. I'm going to finish this by saying that I. Yes, I was not terribly excited for Omega versus Osprey, not because it's not a good match, but because, like, I'm not terribly interested in either. Well, I'm not really terribly interested in Osprey's story.
I just, like, Kenny, Omega Osprey's a good wrestler. I don't think he's a good person. Whatever. That's
[02:10:06] Speaker B: neither here nor there. You can be bisexual on a piece of.
[02:10:08] Speaker C: Oh, yeah.
[02:10:09] Speaker A: I mean, that's.
Again, we've. We've gone over this many times on this episode. You can be any kind of things and still suck.
[02:10:17] Speaker C: Yeah. You can have a couple of labels tagged onto you and still have you.
[02:10:24] Speaker A: I feel like this entire episode was especially leading up to and through redemption, because I know a lot of people were not like. Like, redemption was fine, but, like, they weren't particularly thrilled about it. They.
This episode was just. They were just like. They, like, open it up. Hit the nitrous pedal of the metal. Let's go.
[02:10:46] Speaker C: I mean, yeah, we talked about this briefly at the end of the. The episode yesterday, but it's just like they. Redemption was the bastard child nobody wanted. Everybody is in. All in. And now that that is behind them, they can breathe the sigh of relief and do what they really wanted to do, which is push this feud between, like, Will and Osprey, which the card's gonna be fire, man. I could just. Everything on here is gonna slap.
[02:11:16] Speaker A: And.
And it's that. It's not just Osprey and Omega. It's, you know, no Mercedes and Willow match is. Is looking good.
They. Yeah, they just said like, all right, here we go. Home sprint.
[02:11:32] Speaker C: Yep.
[02:11:34] Speaker A: Smash a button before the green light goes.
And it was it. And you know, great crowd in Detroit. Made for a great show. 10 out of 10.
[02:11:47] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:11:47] Speaker A: A million stars.
[02:11:49] Speaker C: I like this more than I liked redemption.
[02:11:51] Speaker A: Yeah.
Again, haven't seen it, but that was the impression.
[02:11:56] Speaker B: I. I didn't hate redemption. It's just a lot of it was like, this was really good, but I didn't it mean it. None of it meant anything really. Whereas this was just like from. From the. From the get go. From the jump.
Jon Moxley was taking us on a journey tonight, like, from the. With his good friend Kenneth Jerome Omega Omicron.
Love you, girl.
So, like, and. And by golly, we're gonna get this. This golden retriever dumb slut piece of over.
Yeah, we're gonna do it.
[02:12:38] Speaker A: They.
[02:12:38] Speaker B: They're in his hometown. We're gonna do it like, and. And we're gonna. We're gonna tell y' all a masterpiece. And he's not. He's probably not even sure what he's doing.
We just be like, hey, you just show up and you make. You make those faces you enjoy. You make them and you elevate and you do the things. Yeah, that's real good. And you say stupid and. And make queers angry and make women not trust you.
And. And yeah, so you do all that is good story.
[02:13:13] Speaker C: Yeah. When he was slapped by Kenny.
[02:13:17] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:13:18] Speaker C: Child looking tough like, but also trying not to cry.
[02:13:22] Speaker A: Yeah, it's.
[02:13:22] Speaker B: Oh, I guess the other. The other thing that I have a problem with is that, like, I don't know.
I remember Wrestle Kingdom. Why. Where I watched you two, like, damn near murder each other dead.
So, like, I have a hard time. Like, I know y', all, like, made up or whatever, but, like. Like, when I think of Kenny Omega and Osprey, I think of two people who want to end lives.
That was the first time I met Tokyo Dome Kenny Omega. And I went, oh, I get it now. He's insane.
Oh, it totally makes sense. He was going to kill that young man with his face.
[02:14:05] Speaker A: I'd seen Kenny matches before, but, like, he got a hell of a match out of Gabe kid.
And it's like seeing.
There really is nothing like seeing Kenny Omega live and then seeing him live in The Tokyo Dome. It's just like, oh, he, he, he. He's. He has like. That's. There's like. It's like top tier and then there's just like this nebulous empty space that just he occupies. And it's just this one thing that comes out. It's like he's gonna try and do it at Wembley.
[02:14:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[02:14:41] Speaker C: I mean, I remember that match between him and Swerve months back and I was like, holy crap. They were both went so hard.
[02:14:49] Speaker B: That was. But that even. That was. That even. That wasn't even Tokyo. Don't Kenny.
[02:14:54] Speaker A: Yeah, I think close.
The closest was that dynamite match against MJF where he won the title.
That was about. That was about the closest to Tokyo I've seen.
[02:15:10] Speaker B: Yeah. Seen to that on American soil.
[02:15:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:15:14] Speaker B: Like, God damn.
[02:15:16] Speaker C: No, that counter ban on American soil.
[02:15:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Kenny's not allowed to go that hard. Against the law.
Yeah.
[02:15:24] Speaker C: If New Jack has taught me anything. The only difference between wrestling and catching a case is how it's described to the 911 dispatcher.
[02:15:38] Speaker B: We took a perfectly innocent possum in a wizard hat it and within just a few small years quote talking about New Jack copy anything New Jack should not teach you. You should not take any lessons from New Jack.
[02:15:57] Speaker A: Well, he's not eating anyone anymore.
[02:16:00] Speaker B: We're gonna have to. We're gonna have to talk about this off the pod, folks. I just like.
[02:16:04] Speaker A: We're talking about Kenny Omega doing like work rate classics.
This reminds me of New Jack
[02:16:16] Speaker C: every time I think about somebody killing somebody in the ring.
[02:16:21] Speaker A: Yeah.
[02:16:22] Speaker B: Oh, my God. All right. That's amazing.
[02:16:25] Speaker A: I think we did it.
[02:16:26] Speaker B: Do we have any other. Yeah, we did it. Do we have any other housekeeping before we get out of here?
[02:16:31] Speaker C: Happy wrestling. No.
[02:16:32] Speaker A: Happy wrestling.
Find us on Blue sky in the links.
[02:16:38] Speaker B: Yes. Give Erica money. God damn it.
[02:16:41] Speaker A: Give. Give Ella money. We are all collecting money for various things,
[02:16:47] Speaker B: what with the living in the unemployment hampter.
[02:16:50] Speaker A: Hampter is forever sharing other people's mutual aid requests. And it would be good if you donated some money to them if you can.
[02:16:59] Speaker B: Patreon.com WNFFPod thank you. I don't know if you should be.
Yeah, more of you should be on there. We occasionally put stuff on there and your money helps us feel like maybe this is, you know, not fruitless.
Okay. I'm kidding. It would be nice though, to Totally fruitless.
It would be. It would be nice to be able to, you know, eat with it. That'd be cool.
We. We. We. We generally We. We. For a while they were using it to get.
Get the pay per views until I found let's say. Well, Hampter found let's say a better way.
And yeah, yeah, everyone's saluting the flag which won Jolly Roger. And listen to. Everything is wrestling with Bugs and Ella. Everything is wrestling. You will know this.
[02:17:54] Speaker A: It's good.
[02:17:54] Speaker B: We have so many amazing people that come on and talk about things that they know more about than us. And then we do gauge up, folks.
This week we talked about a bit Beowulf. We. We're discussing Beowulf.
And again, just three. Three trans folks discussing the classics. Well, come on, kids. Like, let's go.
[02:18:15] Speaker A: I'll also say definitely go out of your way to listen to their episode with Josie because that was.
[02:18:21] Speaker B: Oh, yeah.
[02:18:22] Speaker A: Excellent.
[02:18:23] Speaker B: Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate it.
[02:18:26] Speaker A: That was. That was good. Good piece of work. Not just blowing smoke up your ass there. That was. That was good.
[02:18:31] Speaker B: I appreciate it. I think that's like the most effort we have put into any of them yet. And apparently more effort than Josie puts in the interviews, according to her.
And I thought that was very kind of her to say, but, yes, go check that out. Politics is wrestling. That was fantastic. Learn about Necro Kfab and be scared.
And, yeah, keep me money. And I think that's everything.
Money. Bunny, please. Money. Now. Please, please.
Happy wrestling.
[02:19:01] Speaker C: Wrestling.
[02:19:04] Speaker A: It's not animal abuse if you slap Will Osprey because he's.
[02:19:09] Speaker B: It's never. It's never not. Okay. Yeah.
[02:19:12] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:19:22] Speaker A: The only thing was. The only thing was I had to walk 5km to and from work every day.
And that included passing under a mountain that had monkeys on it. That would occasionally be like terrifying monkeys because they're monkeys.
[02:19:38] Speaker C: Yeah.
[02:19:38] Speaker A: Yeah. I've never dealt with. I. I had never dealt with that before.
[02:19:41] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah.
Humans without the shame. Like, it's up, man.
[02:19:45] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't give a. Yeah, no, they don't.
[02:19:48] Speaker A: No, they don't. They really don't.
