It's AEW Homecoming and Dynamite hits Daily's Place for a special Title Tuesday show! The Samoa Joe and Hangman Page have face-to-face shouty time, The Hurt Syndicate dress for a business meeting, Ishii and Moxley have an awesome TV match, Lacey Lane answers Mercedes' open challenge, the Kyles go to war, Orange Cassidy and PAC renew their rivalry, and Darby Allin has a magical murder bag now. Holy crap does he have a murder bag. Yeesh. Really great show this week, come listen to us discuss it as well as amuse ourselves with our perfect wrestler impersonations!

I would make a light the fuse joke like usual but I really don't want Darby to hear me.

[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark, formless void. But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling. And with that, there was Monday. And wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages. On the second day, God got depressed and lo did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday. On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her. We know what that means. [00:00:56] Speaker B: And welcome back to Wednesday Night Fake Bites, where we talk all things aew. We are here for Title Tuesday. A Very Special Dynamite. After last week's Very Special Dynamite, this one has titles. This one is on Tuesday and it's from Daily's place in Florida. And as always, I am one of your hosts, Jeff the Tokimongoose here with my wonderful compatriots. [00:01:18] Speaker C: Happy Scotttober to all and to all a good Tuesday night. I am Piper Willow, back once again as well. [00:01:26] Speaker A: And it's Erica Warren's the Herald of Scott Hober. I have a Scott Toberfest beer with me and I'm happy to be here as always with my lovely friends. [00:01:38] Speaker B: And I'm Wheeler Yuta. [00:01:43] Speaker A: I'm the fourth member. [00:01:45] Speaker B: All the stars are here. [00:01:48] Speaker A: The important thing to like, as we've mentioned, the important thing when you're doing an impression is to say the name of the person. [00:01:57] Speaker B: Else. Are they gonna know? [00:01:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:59] Speaker C: Like it gets you in character. It gets them. They know who you. Who you're impersonating. It's perfect. [00:02:07] Speaker B: Yeah, you don't even really have to sound like them. It just makes it easy. You can even use the same voice for everyone. [00:02:13] Speaker A: See if you can guess who I'm being right now. Hi, I'm Bryan Danielson. I'm gonna kick your head in. Who is it? [00:02:25] Speaker B: Wheeler Yuta. [00:02:26] Speaker A: Yeah, it was Wheeler Yuri. [00:02:29] Speaker B: That's acting. [00:02:31] Speaker A: Because he stole Danielson's. [00:02:37] Speaker C: Amazing. [00:02:38] Speaker B: It was El Hijo del George C. Scott. [00:02:43] Speaker C: Speaking of, I. I wanted to take a second here to honor and acknowledge Scott Tober. [00:02:51] Speaker B: Shout outs to our holiest of seasons. [00:02:55] Speaker C: To a Scott in wrestling that I loved. I don't know about the rest of y'. All. Shout out Scotty too hottie. [00:03:01] Speaker B: Sure. [00:03:02] Speaker C: The worm was so ridiculous and didn't. [00:03:05] Speaker A: I think he did a transphobia like recently? Scotty. No, I care. [00:03:11] Speaker C: Yeah, actually you're right. [00:03:12] Speaker A: Now that you mentioned, he was. He was like. He was kind of shitty about wrestling Commander Sterling in the uk. [00:03:20] Speaker B: How about Go Scott Hall. [00:03:22] Speaker C: Go Scott Hall. [00:03:23] Speaker B: Even Though his portrayal was kind of racist. At least he seemed like a nice enough man. [00:03:28] Speaker A: Besides his problem, he was. He was doing an impression of a white man. [00:03:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:33] Speaker A: Doing an impression of a Cuban already. [00:03:34] Speaker B: So in terms of like WWE stuff at the time, it's pretty low on the terrible happening. [00:03:44] Speaker C: Maybe we just stick to George C. Scott and don't honor any Scots in wrestling. [00:03:47] Speaker B: There's no problems with Scott. Scott Steiner never did anything problematic. [00:03:52] Speaker A: What. What? Do you want to rephrase that at all? [00:03:58] Speaker B: I was hoping the sarcasm carried that, but apparently no. [00:04:01] Speaker A: The. The. There's only one good Scott in wrestling and it's Scott Norton. I don't. I don't think he did anything terrible. [00:04:08] Speaker B: If he did. Let's just stop now so we don't find out. [00:04:12] Speaker A: Yes. Ignorance is bliss. [00:04:14] Speaker B: Yeah. Speaking of ignorance, the show starts off with Tony Schiavone in the ring. [00:04:19] Speaker A: All right. [00:04:20] Speaker B: I love Tony for the Hangman and Joe face to face. I know he's an easy time. Yeah. We got a little swift. Hangman and Samoa Joe for their AEW World Men's Championship. Yeah. Joe is looking sick in a suit. Like that was my first thing I noticed. [00:04:40] Speaker C: He is sharp in that suit. [00:04:43] Speaker B: Joe means business. [00:04:44] Speaker A: Sweet tooth was looking very fly. Yeah. [00:04:47] Speaker B: Well, our net has gained some weight. [00:04:51] Speaker C: Twisted Metal money really is really paying. [00:04:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Peacock. [00:04:56] Speaker A: I can buy Armani. I'm Samoa Joe. [00:05:02] Speaker B: I don't like dailies. Is a very cool looking venue too. Yeah. [00:05:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:06] Speaker B: Like I did. I didn't watch during the Pandemic and stuff like that when they were doing the residency there. So I only have seen it a few times. I. I love the like screen setup and everything. Like it's very immersive. [00:05:17] Speaker C: I just haven't seen it with people in it in such a long time. [00:05:21] Speaker B: Somebody. Besides the guns. [00:05:22] Speaker A: What. I forget when the last time they were there. It's probably been this year. [00:05:27] Speaker B: I think they do it like once or twice a year. I think. I know I've seen it like regular Dynamites since the Pandemic. [00:05:33] Speaker A: Since. Since like the. The like gathering restrictions have been lifted. They've changed how they shoot it. [00:05:41] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:05:41] Speaker A: Which I think it like. I think the way they do it now is a lot cooler because they used to just do it. They used to do it head on so like you could see the stage. [00:05:50] Speaker B: Yeah. No, so like the hard cam side is up against the. Yeah. [00:05:54] Speaker A: The big. [00:05:55] Speaker B: The screens and everything. [00:05:57] Speaker A: It's very cool. I. I really like Dally's place. [00:06:00] Speaker B: Yeah, me too. It's a fun venue. I say Hangman gets up there and he starts talking about his six years in Dynamite. He says he has committed our sin. He has dressed as the Stay Puff Marshmallow man. And he thinks he's even been proposed to, which he was, I think, by John Silverback. Yeah, it was during the Dark Order thing. [00:06:21] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. Oh, Hung Man. [00:06:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Oh. Oh, Hung Man. Would you. Would you join our. [00:06:26] Speaker B: We all forgot about the Dark Order. Hangman. [00:06:29] Speaker A: Would you join a dark orgy? [00:06:33] Speaker B: I'm a Dark Order apologist. I love them. I support them in the Ring of Honor. I like Evil Uno was like one of my favorite people throughout wrestling, and. [00:06:42] Speaker A: They really had the best era of BT being the elite. [00:06:45] Speaker B: Yeah. No. Yeah, that was some fun. And rip, Brody Lee, rip. [00:06:52] Speaker A: He's up there with George C. Scott. [00:06:54] Speaker B: Right now through the claws. Yeah. [00:06:57] Speaker A: George C. Scott is in the Dark Order. [00:06:59] Speaker B: I respect you too much. Do an impression of you, Brody Lee. So we're gonna keep going. It says he is still confused by Joe turning on him. Think about just kind of do a back and forth Joe with the you never beat me thing. And it's. I like this build well enough. I don't think it's anything super deep. It very much is just like, all right, it was a badass again now. And he wants the championship and be like, all right, well, I'm gonna give you the fight of your life for it, and I'm gonna win. [00:07:29] Speaker C: Joe had one grumpy evening and was like, wait a minute, I'm somewhere with Joe. Give me that title. [00:07:36] Speaker A: Yeah, I could just take that. You. [00:07:39] Speaker B: I think that's one of the strengths of Joe is that he's really able to, like, flawlessly move between, like, being this goofy, funny dude like, everyone loves to just, like, back to the most intimidating you've ever seen on the, like, third of a dime. [00:07:53] Speaker C: Yeah, he can just kind of be. [00:07:55] Speaker A: Whatever and he's got that credibility that he could do. Do that. [00:07:59] Speaker B: No, exactly. Yeah. He can goof around with hook and Shabbat and stuff. Then he's just like, no, I want the belt. And you're like, maybe he could win the belt. Yeah, that would be cool. [00:08:08] Speaker C: He is Samoa Joe. [00:08:10] Speaker B: I don't think it's gonna happen, but I genuinely don't even think I would be that upset if he did. [00:08:16] Speaker A: No, I mean, there is a little bit of history to this, because it feels a bit like this title run has been Hangman doing. Righting the wrongs of his year as a mentally unstable heel that everybody loved more. [00:08:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:08:33] Speaker A: Because because, like, what it. Last time he wrestled Joe for the title, he tapped out. And the. I don't think they ever confirmed that he did it deliberately to screw Swerve, but everybody kind of when they. [00:08:48] Speaker B: Yeah, it wasn't like that. Yeah. Yeah. And also, it's just like, even to the point they make in the promo about the ops having Hangman's back and Hangman not being able to have won the belt without them and him being like, yeah, the right thing to. For me to do is to give you a shot because this wouldn't have happened without you. He's trying to be like that decent dude about it. And I like a full, you know, not everything has to be full on heel versus full on baby face. Like, it was. I guess leave a little bit more that way. Sometimes it could just be two, like, really badass dudes beating the out of each other. Yeah. [00:09:23] Speaker C: Just some boys wrestling for wrestling's sake. [00:09:26] Speaker B: Yeah. Who is the best wrestler? Like, that is what a championship is ultimately for. [00:09:31] Speaker A: And that's kind of perfect for Wrestle Dream, which is like a whole tribute to Inoki. [00:09:36] Speaker B: They're gonna put them all against seven magnifiers who will kick the out of them. [00:09:39] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, the whole new Japan style is like, put the two best people up against each other and let them beat the crap out of each other. And that's what we're gonna get. [00:09:49] Speaker C: Yeah, that's what those guys are gonna do. [00:09:51] Speaker B: Yeah. So that's pretty much, you know, the old gist of the program. I was just like, all right, better man win. And I'm excited for it. I thought it was a very good little back and forth. [00:10:01] Speaker A: I liked it a lot. Very good. [00:10:03] Speaker B: Then we hop on backstage with Alicia Attit and the conglomeration. Got Mark Briscoe cutting a promo which is always incredibly fun. Says the word of the day. I believe it's multiplication is what he said. [00:10:15] Speaker A: I said diverse. Diversification. [00:10:17] Speaker B: Diversification. Okay. He was good. Yeah. He was going real quick for me on this promo. I'm not gonna lie. [00:10:23] Speaker A: I do think they told, like, speed it up a little bit, Mark. [00:10:26] Speaker B: Yeah, he runs down all the conglomeration stuff that's coming up on the show, which they have a few matches. Yeah. We got Kyle O'Reilly talking about the Kyles versus each other because he's a weird, adorable little man. [00:10:40] Speaker A: You better not cheer for Kyle. If I hear one Kyle Ch. He's like, I. I both. He did it so tongue in cheek. I didn't mind that they were like, very obviously Planning the seeds for like, please chant. Let's go, Kyle. [00:10:55] Speaker B: I mean, that. That happened the last match they had is. They haven't. [00:10:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:58] Speaker B: Yeah. And it's a fun thing. [00:11:01] Speaker A: It's awesome. Yes. [00:11:03] Speaker B: They did the hands in for the conglomeration. And everybody, even Alicia toot does it, except Roderick Strong standing there with his. [00:11:10] Speaker C: Arms crossed, staring at Ishi and then just walked off. [00:11:14] Speaker B: And Alicia's in the back is like, yeah, I've been on this. [00:11:17] Speaker A: I like that. It's Ishi. Yeah, it's still Ishi that Roddy has a problem with, apparently. [00:11:23] Speaker B: Yeah. No. Yeah. Ishi came back like Roddy was fine in the conglomeration these last couple weeks, and now he's back. He's like, I'm not sure. It's all grumpy again. [00:11:32] Speaker A: I don't like that short, little angry guy. I'm. I'm Roger Strong. [00:11:38] Speaker C: I got a problem with Big Tom, which I couldn't figure out who Briscoe was talking about. He's like, big Tom. I'm like. [00:11:48] Speaker B: I've heard. Yeah. Like, they call him that on commentary and sometimes, dude, like, it's really funny. [00:11:54] Speaker A: I feel like it's a call, but I don't know who started calling him that. I don't know if it was an Internet thing, but I know the first time I saw it was Larry Sanka on 411. Mania would always call him Big Tom. Ishii. I feel like that that's. That's kind of where it came from. I could be wrong, but that's just where I saw it first. And I'm. [00:12:15] Speaker B: No, that's. It's a cute thing that caught on. [00:12:17] Speaker A: I pop every time they say it on tv. [00:12:20] Speaker C: Yeah, that. That got me. Once I realized who it was for, I was like, ah, that's funny. [00:12:25] Speaker B: The shortest dude in the group. [00:12:27] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:12:28] Speaker B: I like to. When they're walking away at the end, Kyle O'Reilly just to the camera goes. Must kill Kyle. [00:12:35] Speaker A: Kyle. [00:12:37] Speaker B: Such an odd little man. [00:12:39] Speaker C: He's such a gremlin. [00:12:41] Speaker A: I love him. [00:12:43] Speaker B: Oh, I do too. I use such a. He's one of my all time favorites. [00:12:45] Speaker A: We'll talk about him later. Oh, my God. All right, what's. What's next, Jeff? [00:12:50] Speaker B: Yeah, we do start off with a conglomeration match. That was where that kind of little promo thing right into. And it is Jan Massley versus Big Time himself, Tomohiro Ishi. And it's cool. [00:13:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:13:04] Speaker A: This match, this match. [00:13:08] Speaker C: What a great opener. [00:13:09] Speaker A: This match impregnated me. It was awesome. [00:13:13] Speaker B: Yeah, these guys have had. This is their, like, third game. [00:13:16] Speaker A: No, no, no. [00:13:16] Speaker C: Hold on, hold on. Speak on that. [00:13:19] Speaker A: Speak on that. I'm. I'm. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant now. Because that match. So hard. [00:13:24] Speaker B: Is it both of theirs? Because that is gonna be a vicious. [00:13:27] Speaker A: No, it's. It's. It's the match. The match. The match is child. [00:13:30] Speaker B: That's still gonna be kicking around in there like no other. [00:13:33] Speaker A: That's how it works. Yeah. [00:13:35] Speaker C: It's gonna be headbutting and elbowing and. [00:13:37] Speaker A: And bleeding everywhere. Yeah. [00:13:39] Speaker B: Oh. [00:13:39] Speaker A: I mean, it's. It's just childbirth. [00:13:42] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:13:43] Speaker C: When you put it that way. [00:13:46] Speaker B: Is it a boy or a girl? No, it's five stars. Yeah. This rule, I don't even have a lot of notes for it because these guys really just like, punched the out of each other a bunch and like, hit each other hard. [00:14:03] Speaker A: This was like, pure. Like you. Oh, how would. How would I call it? This would be like. This is like a mid card G1 match. [00:14:12] Speaker B: Yeah, well, that's it. It's. It's like their G1 match, they had. This is their third of a trilogy. They did one more diamond, then they did the G1 back in like 2019. And it's one of my favorite matches. Those dudes, they have great chemistry. [00:14:25] Speaker A: This was not nearly as long as their G1 match, but, like, it had that. It had that same feel. [00:14:29] Speaker B: Yeah. This was like a TV match version of it. [00:14:32] Speaker A: It's like, let's have a sprint and just no, sell a bunch of stuff and hit each other as hard as possible. Like, how many. How many things did Ishii no sell? He sold a pile. No, sold a pile driver. [00:14:46] Speaker B: He did the cool thing where Mox had him up for the pile driver and then got the middle fingers up while he had him up in the pile driver and drops him and he just springs back up. [00:14:55] Speaker A: He just pops up and just like you. [00:14:58] Speaker B: That's Ishi has, like, it's just a bag of tricks. I've seen him a million times when it get his near falls, like his one count kick outs, like, he always works for me. [00:15:08] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:09] Speaker B: He even got. His nose was bleeding in this. He got rocked. [00:15:12] Speaker C: Yeah, he looked like a badass. Just. He's just this little boulder of a man that, like, you try and you try and pile drive him and he can just roll right out of it and like, roll with the momentum because he's. He's Ishi. Like, that's what he does. [00:15:26] Speaker B: And he's gonna be 50 next year. [00:15:28] Speaker C: Good lord. [00:15:28] Speaker B: He's either. Yeah, either. I think early next year he turns 50 years old and still works better than most people 20 years younger than him. [00:15:35] Speaker A: Yeah, there's like a handful of wrestlers that I've seen live where like you see them live and it's like, okay, I get it. I totally get it. And like Ishii, like, I got him seeing him from like video and stuff and all that. But like seeing him live, like, I've never seen a crowd react to a guy like the way Tokyo Dome reacted. [00:15:59] Speaker B: The Ishii, he always pops people. [00:16:02] Speaker A: Yeah, like he. He is. [00:16:04] Speaker B: His. His timing is immaculate. [00:16:06] Speaker A: Like an all timer time. Great. And he's never been a world champion anywhere. Like, and yeah, God damn it. Like, he. [00:16:13] Speaker B: He's the new Japan strong champion, which means absolutely nothing right now. [00:16:18] Speaker A: Well, I guess that does actually make him a world champion of some type. [00:16:21] Speaker B: Yeah, it's an internationally defended title, but yeah, it's a dead brand. They've already said they're scaling like all that back because nobody comes to New Japan in America. [00:16:31] Speaker A: Oh yeah, I've seen those shows too. [00:16:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:34] Speaker A: But then you know what? You know who had a great match like with Gabe Kid of all people? Tomohiro Ishii. [00:16:41] Speaker B: Right? Ichi has had a great match with everybody he's had a match with, except for one time against evil. And besides that, every match he has done has been good. [00:16:49] Speaker A: Oh no, wait, that's right. He had. Jericho had a bad match with him. That was like the point where I was like, Jericho's gotta go. [00:16:56] Speaker B: That's a good litmus test. [00:16:58] Speaker A: Yeah. You like, you had a bad match with Ishii. You are done, dog. Go anti vax with your wife or whatever it is she does. [00:17:07] Speaker C: Go to January 6th part two with your wife. [00:17:10] Speaker A: Go to October. [00:17:12] Speaker C: No, no, scotttoberfest is our thing. [00:17:16] Speaker A: Yeah, that's our thing. Yeah, man. [00:17:18] Speaker C: Scotttober. Whatever I called it earlier. [00:17:21] Speaker A: Jericho, Irvine, Tomer. [00:17:24] Speaker C: She's cracking. Another beer. [00:17:27] Speaker A: Check out this. Check out this lobster. [00:17:30] Speaker B: Okay. That is pretty cool. [00:17:33] Speaker A: It's from Boston. [00:17:35] Speaker C: Just like, hey, you know who's from Boston? It's me, the taskmaster. [00:17:42] Speaker A: Tomahiro. Is she. I'm from Boston. [00:17:54] Speaker B: The Lower continues. [00:17:56] Speaker C: This is. This is the definition of self aggrandizing. [00:18:01] Speaker A: I. No, I just. I just enjoy. Whenever I can break Piper like that. [00:18:07] Speaker C: It's not hard. All it takes is a George C. Scott. [00:18:11] Speaker B: And President Ishi is spiritually from Boston though. Like, he is like, he's a Japanese guy, but like his character is a Boston dude. [00:18:19] Speaker A: He's. He's like an east coast blue collar guy for sure. Yeah. He's. He's. [00:18:24] Speaker B: He works down at the docks. Like. [00:18:26] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:18:27] Speaker B: He goes to baseball games. [00:18:29] Speaker A: Like, he's like, I love Matthew. [00:18:33] Speaker B: He looks like he drinks a lot of beer. [00:18:37] Speaker C: He sounds like the perfect boss tonight to me. [00:18:39] Speaker B: Yeah. I say the match end is with Mox catching the choke on Ishi after a really good, like, back and forth of paradigm shifts and some near falls and stuff, and Mox checks and chokes him out and. Yeah, very, very fun opener. Like, honestly, I think might have been my favorite match of the show. [00:18:55] Speaker A: This is my favorite for sure. [00:18:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:18:58] Speaker A: The whole visual of Ishi with, like, the blood coming out of his nose and the show. [00:19:04] Speaker B: That was great. Yeah, yeah. [00:19:05] Speaker A: That's after he kicked out of the. [00:19:07] Speaker C: Paradigm Shift, which was surprising. [00:19:10] Speaker A: That was badass. [00:19:12] Speaker B: They hit the ground running. [00:19:13] Speaker C: I think mine was later, but this was a very good match. [00:19:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:19:17] Speaker B: There's a lot of good here. Say we have on backstage with Renee and the Young Bucks, The Bucks are knocking on Tony's door, and I noticed that Tony Khan has a custom Time Cop themed name plate of himself. It says Tony Khan in the Time Cop theme with, like, the crosshairs on it. [00:19:34] Speaker C: What a guy. [00:19:35] Speaker A: Find you somebody that loves as much as Tony Khan loves Time Cop because. Holy. I don't think anybody loves Time Cop more than Tony Khan. [00:19:46] Speaker B: We all relate to having hyper fixations. Yes. [00:19:50] Speaker C: Ain't that the truth. We host a pro wrestling podcast. [00:19:55] Speaker B: And I mean, like, basically his hyper fixations are pro wrestling and bad movies. Like, they're literally my hyper fixations. [00:20:02] Speaker A: Like, oh, God. Yeah. [00:20:04] Speaker B: He's a wonderfully weird little man. [00:20:06] Speaker A: And then doesn't he do, like, stats for the Jaguars or some? [00:20:10] Speaker B: Probably, yeah. [00:20:11] Speaker A: He's like. He's like Moneyball guy. [00:20:14] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. He's involved with him for sure. [00:20:16] Speaker A: I'm Tony Khan. My autism makes me billions. [00:20:23] Speaker C: Why can't mine do that? [00:20:25] Speaker B: I know, right? [00:20:26] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:26] Speaker B: How do I monetize my autism? [00:20:28] Speaker A: This is. [00:20:30] Speaker B: Yeah. The Bucks are begging for a money match. They are broke after Nick Jackson lost all of their money. So they're just like, come on, come on, Tony, give us a money match. [00:20:41] Speaker C: It does seem to be, like, the only matches that they wrestle in, like, for the last couple months. That's matches with large sums of money. They always seem to be involved with that. And now you realize why. It's because there was an addiction that needed feeding. [00:20:56] Speaker A: Yes. Apparently Nick is just like, pissing mud up Onto like on the slots. [00:21:01] Speaker B: Got that dragon link. Put 100 bucks in Heidi and win. [00:21:09] Speaker A: He goes to. He'll go to. Yeah, probably. He's like blowing his money on like Silent Hill pachinko machines and Tokyo when they were in New Japan. [00:21:20] Speaker B: Yeah, that's true. That's how you get the bug. Yeah, I'm. [00:21:24] Speaker A: I love gambling. [00:21:26] Speaker C: I want to play the Castlevania pachinko. [00:21:33] Speaker B: Ask them about Jurassic Express. Sorry. I'm sorry. No, you're fine. Yeah, just in the bucks. Say they are going to be at ringside for the Jurassic Express mask coming up. And they continue begging for money for their pachinko. [00:21:48] Speaker A: They probably were like super into pachinko. I would not be surprised. [00:21:52] Speaker B: No, it would. Yeah, that seems very likely. [00:21:54] Speaker A: Actually. [00:21:55] Speaker B: They do a stat video for stat and Tony and yeah, they did run like a couple weeks ago where it was Renee doing like kind of more sports oriented like statistics rundown of the coming match. And I think it's a nice touch. [00:22:09] Speaker A: I don't. [00:22:10] Speaker B: Doesn't need to be every week or. But it's fun thing and Renee's great for that. [00:22:14] Speaker C: It helps give stuff like that big match feel. [00:22:17] Speaker B: Yeah, very much so. [00:22:19] Speaker A: I thought it was really cool. Like they did a bunch of stuff that I didn't actually realize that like Stats pinned Tony twice. [00:22:26] Speaker B: It's a good way to like lay. [00:22:28] Speaker A: Some groundwork or like the big. The big one that I liked was Tony's beaten every. Aw. Women's champion except for Chris Statlander. [00:22:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:38] Speaker A: No. [00:22:38] Speaker B: Yeah. That was cool. Yeah. I'm a big nerd for that kind of stuff. So it's very nice that they do that. [00:22:43] Speaker C: It's another match that doesn't really need a whole lot of. [00:22:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:47] Speaker C: Promotion. [00:22:47] Speaker B: These ladies are. Yeah. [00:22:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:50] Speaker A: Let's go. [00:22:51] Speaker C: Yeah. I'm very excited. It's. It's coming up quick, but I'm. It's gonna be a good one. [00:22:57] Speaker B: Yeah. That. We go on to our next match, which is the Demand versus the Hurt Syndicate in a street fight. [00:23:05] Speaker A: This was so cool. [00:23:06] Speaker B: Yeah, this was a very good match. This was a garbage match in a lot of. But like in the best possible way. [00:23:13] Speaker A: Yes. This is perfect. This is like an awesome TV hardcore match. I loved it. [00:23:17] Speaker B: Yeah. At one point Taz says street Fight City and it's like. Yeah. Street fight City. [00:23:22] Speaker A: Street Fight City. [00:23:23] Speaker C: It looked like an awful venue to work a street fight in though. [00:23:26] Speaker B: Like, it did look a little cramped. [00:23:28] Speaker C: Scenery, but yeah, it looked so cramped. [00:23:31] Speaker B: They did do that good thing with Ricochet doing that running jump like that Was very. A nice usage of it. [00:23:39] Speaker A: That popped me so hard because Ricochet got so much height on it, but because he's a heel, he had to sell. Like, he got the MO the worst damage out of it. Because a heel should not do, like, a cool dive where you basically stop in midair, do a monkey flip, and land. And then he just is writhing on the ground in pain, even though he, like, they caught him perfectly. It's like, that's like. Ricochet is, what a revelation as a heel. Like, just awesome. Awesome. [00:24:11] Speaker B: Yeah, it was funny timing, too, because as I was watching this, like, I wrote down for the first part, I'm like, this has just been a lot of weapon shots. They need to do a big spot or something, so. And then right as I wrote that, Ricochet did that. I said, okay, and there's the big spot. And after that, it just, like, kicked into over gear. [00:24:27] Speaker C: Yep. And then it just kind of became like, big spot after big spot after big spot, because then it was like, all right, now we're gonna introduce tables. [00:24:35] Speaker A: We're gonna introduce all the tables they. [00:24:37] Speaker B: Had in the ring to start it. [00:24:39] Speaker A: Like, we'd be remiss not to point out that the Hurt syndicate wrestled in, like, suits. [00:24:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:46] Speaker C: They're in their Dockers. [00:24:48] Speaker B: Yeah. Their street fight gear and suits was. [00:24:52] Speaker A: I was. So this. This ruled. I don't give a. This was. [00:24:56] Speaker B: This was awesome. [00:24:58] Speaker C: Bobby Lashley coming out, beating up a guy for a couple minutes, then unbuttoning his shirt, but keeping it on the whole time. Oh, amazing. [00:25:06] Speaker B: Bobby is so over. People went nuts for him when he did that. Like, he got such big chance. [00:25:12] Speaker C: He's the only person, I think, that got an individual chant in this match. [00:25:16] Speaker B: Like, they got a Bobby chant. [00:25:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:18] Speaker C: Her syndicate for sure got chance. [00:25:21] Speaker B: Yeah, they go. They got. You know, we hurt people and like that, but, yeah, this Bobby, they need to move him up into single stuff and, like. Yeah, capitalize on him. I don't even necessarily know if he needs to win the world Championship, but he should be, like, fighting for it. [00:25:36] Speaker C: Yeah, he could. Yeah. [00:25:37] Speaker B: Or give him a TNT title. Let him take it off Kyle and let him have it for, like, a year or something, you know, maybe not that long, but, like, some kind of substantial single. [00:25:47] Speaker A: Yeah, there was just so much cool in this match. [00:25:50] Speaker C: Starts off with the lightsaber fight in the kendo stick. [00:25:54] Speaker B: And the King, the dueling candlesticks is such a great touch. [00:25:58] Speaker A: Danielson is marking out for Bishop Khan and Shelton Benjamin fighting as, like. [00:26:05] Speaker B: So that's. [00:26:06] Speaker A: It's like, wow. Yeah. [00:26:09] Speaker B: They had a crazy spot where Shelton's on a table, and Ricochet hit a shooting star onto him, but didn't break the table. So spears toa into both of them and, like, just crushes all four through people. Like, there is no has. Okay, that didn't work. I'm throwing you through it right now. [00:26:28] Speaker A: I love that the mic picked up. Like, we're good. [00:26:33] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:26:36] Speaker C: Like, right before it, you could hear him going, like, all right, come on. And then, like, then you see them come and crash through. [00:26:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:42] Speaker B: That was crazy. [00:26:43] Speaker A: Everybody knows that when the table doesn't break, that's not good. But, yeah, like, God, they. They work through it. Like. They work through it like champs. [00:26:53] Speaker B: I know we say every time, Shelton, Benjamin, Raffles, but Sheldon Benjamin is, like, one of the best wrestlers alive. It is insane how good this man is. [00:27:01] Speaker C: Yeah. Everything he do it does is just, like, so perfect. [00:27:05] Speaker A: I can't believe people, like, would ever try and say, like, Shelton's not good enough. [00:27:08] Speaker B: I. Yeah. No, it makes no sense. And he's always been this good. He's been fantastic for, like, 25 years straight. I got near the end, he hit this, like. He hit a release. German on Ricochet through the table, set up in the corner, and it was the most beautiful suplex I've ever seen. [00:27:25] Speaker A: Like, just launched him. [00:27:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:28] Speaker A: Oh. [00:27:29] Speaker B: And it just. It looked. He landed perfectly. Crushed the table underneath it. [00:27:33] Speaker A: He got so much height on that. I thought he wasn't coming down for a second. [00:27:37] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I think that was the finish, too, because, yeah, Bobby kills him with the choke slam, and then they just toss him through the table. [00:27:46] Speaker C: This is a great showcase for, like, each. Both teams and each individual person. [00:27:52] Speaker B: Yeah. Everybody got over really good here. [00:27:55] Speaker C: Really impressive to, like, do in a street fight of all things. [00:28:00] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, this. This feud has kicked a lot of ass. I know that people. There's. There's a. There's been a subset of people who are just like, oh. The Hurt Syndicate refused to lose. How dare they? [00:28:12] Speaker B: Like, this is kind of getting their win back after losing at the pay per view, but. [00:28:16] Speaker A: And, yeah, so it's just like, I don't give a. [00:28:18] Speaker B: So who cares? Yeah. [00:28:19] Speaker A: Like, these guys are cool. They should be on tv and they should be winning. [00:28:24] Speaker B: It's. It's the Athena thing. Like, I don't want her to lose because she's amazing. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Very fun match. We go backstage with Renee and the whole damn. Don Callis family. I think everybody except Andrade, because I think he's Wrestling down in Mexico or something. And they just do the same thing the conglomeration did earlier where they run down all the matches. The Don Callis family has. Yeah, yeah. They got some shit coming up. Don gals as well. I have anything really memorable from that little segment now? [00:28:55] Speaker A: Yeah, not really. Oh, I like that. Fletcher said that Kyle O'Reilly named himself after him. [00:29:01] Speaker B: Yeah, that was cute. That was a good line. [00:29:03] Speaker A: That was. That was about it. But yeah. [00:29:06] Speaker B: Yeah. We hop into Jurassic Express versus a couple of jobbers whose name I didn't even bother to write down because they're. [00:29:12] Speaker A: Sorry, guys. [00:29:13] Speaker C: I'm not sure these dead who they were because I tried to get it as well. [00:29:18] Speaker B: And yeah, I didn't. Yeah, I don't even. Did they even have like a name plate come up or anything? [00:29:23] Speaker A: They didn't get a nameplate. I know that they were caught. They were naming them on commentary, but I didn't pick up on it. [00:29:30] Speaker B: They said them. Yeah, didn't stick. Speaking of names, though, it is no longer Jungle Boy Jack Perry. It is Jungle Jackberry Jr wins. [00:29:39] Speaker A: You got JR wins. Yeah. Once again, problematic as Junior can be, he's also frequently Right. Which lots of problematic guy old guys are. Yeah. Especially in wrestling. Like, damn. Yeah. [00:29:57] Speaker B: This. Yeah. They're still got this kind of. This. I don't know. I feel like this gimmick still kind of feeling itself. Like they got the old music. You got beach balls bouncing around in the crowd and everything. It's very happy and fun. But it's like we literally just had both these guys go through like their entire character arc over the last couple years were like turning completely against that. And like, they're still kind of. They're darker versions of them. Like, Jack Barry still has a knife and Lucasaurus knife. Yeah. [00:30:27] Speaker C: The weird vibes of like the second run of DX where it's like, look, you remember this? You had fun with this, right? But that's so like, we've seen what these guys do and have done over the last couple years. [00:30:39] Speaker B: Like, yeah, Outside Jeff Barry killed Kenny Omega. [00:30:42] Speaker C: Like, yeah. [00:30:43] Speaker B: And he killed Tony Khan. [00:30:45] Speaker A: Like, it's like you can compare him to dx, but like, DX was DX and this is just Jurassic Express. [00:30:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:30:52] Speaker A: Like, yeah, they. They, like, they were a gimmick that everybody was like, this has a shelf life. And I love both guys and I love Jurassic Express. [00:31:00] Speaker B: I will say the goodness of them as wrestlers helps carry it. Like, throughout this match, I was like, you know what? Even if I'm a little. Iffy on the gimmick right now. I enjoy watching these two wrestle. I enjoy watching these two wrestle together. [00:31:13] Speaker A: They have great chemistry. [00:31:15] Speaker C: The wrestling is great. [00:31:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. If they can just find that, like, I get. People love the song. I get the beach balls are fun, but, like, they might need to find something that's a little more like. In that they need to drop the boy from their act and just be jungle or something. [00:31:29] Speaker A: Jungle. They could be jungle to jungle. Starring Tim Allen. That was too good of a Tim Allen. [00:31:38] Speaker B: That was actually. [00:31:39] Speaker C: Yeah, I've practiced. [00:31:41] Speaker B: Close my eyes. I can see him. [00:31:44] Speaker A: Oh, no. I killed Wilson. [00:31:48] Speaker C: Back to jail for me. [00:31:51] Speaker B: This. This match did have one of my favorite my. That actually didn't have a lot of tazzes of the nights. He was kind of a little more subdued tonight. But this one actually is almost more of an Excalibur because they're talking about Luchasaurus. And Taz says he smells like a dinosaur. And Excalibur. You smell a lot of dinosaurs, Taz. [00:32:08] Speaker C: This also had my Taz of the week, which was not that line. It was Taz. He's like one of these. I forget what he was. He was going on about. [00:32:16] Speaker B: Yeah. He says one of the beach balls hit him. [00:32:18] Speaker C: He's like, one of these beach balls hit me in the side of the head while I was doing my little promo thing. And then Excalibur's like, yeah, I should probably go out for six to eight weeks. [00:32:27] Speaker B: Well, and the thing is, Taz recently posted on Twitter, he's getting a total shoulder replacement. So he is going to be out. He's going to be out for six to eight weeks. So they almost did, like, a little funny K favor. He got hit by a beach ball and it hurt him so bad. He's got to be. [00:32:40] Speaker A: Taz is getting the full Gundam arm. [00:32:44] Speaker C: He's gonna have the Bionic Commando. [00:32:46] Speaker A: He's gonna come back and be Heavy Arms Jones. [00:32:49] Speaker B: We will miss Taz as always when he's gone. [00:32:52] Speaker A: That one episode of Samurai Jack where he has the robot arm for. Do you remember that? Did you ever watch Samurai Jack? [00:32:59] Speaker B: No, I did not watch Samurai Jack. No, I know. I need to. I love Primal. It was just the timing. I never really. [00:33:06] Speaker A: I. [00:33:06] Speaker B: It's on my list for sure. [00:33:07] Speaker A: Pathetic. Pathetic. [00:33:09] Speaker B: He's gonna have a claw from Inspector Gadget arm. We'll cut the difference here. [00:33:18] Speaker A: Next time, Jones. [00:33:20] Speaker B: Next time. [00:33:23] Speaker A: You Taz. [00:33:30] Speaker B: We will get some Ian Riccabani in the future, which is always a true. [00:33:32] Speaker C: Yes. [00:33:34] Speaker A: Boner zone. [00:33:36] Speaker B: Zone. [00:33:37] Speaker A: Penis joke. Jones. [00:33:43] Speaker B: I'm sorry. No, I was just gonna. Yeah. I will say too. My only other note I got on this match is that I love their finish. That like release suplex into the co op power. I think they call it the extinction and commentary. [00:33:58] Speaker A: Oh, that's a good name. [00:33:59] Speaker C: Countdown to Extinction. Because he does the. 3, 2, 1. [00:34:03] Speaker B: What? Countdown to Extinction. Yeah. Yeah. It's a sick move. [00:34:07] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:34:07] Speaker A: Yes. I liked it. That was a good finish. [00:34:10] Speaker B: Yeah, it was. And it was a serviceable squash. But mostly to set up the young bucks jump. The Jurassic Express. They take them out pretty handily. [00:34:18] Speaker C: The young bucks who were sitting in the crowd with two random children in between them because they couldn't get tickets next to each other. [00:34:27] Speaker B: That was a crazy. [00:34:29] Speaker A: Booked on the show. They're not booked on the show and they spend all the money but like they can get the nosebleed seats like. [00:34:34] Speaker C: At opposite ends together which are on hard cam and still probably hundreds of dollars. [00:34:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:34:41] Speaker C: I can't afford those seats. [00:34:43] Speaker A: No, I could not afford tickets to D's place. I don't think. [00:34:46] Speaker B: Where were their parents? [00:34:49] Speaker A: I. I want to know whose kids they were because they must have been somebody in productions. Kids or some. Oh, I'm sure. [00:34:54] Speaker B: Yeah. You're gonna be on tv. We're gonna have you set up between the young Bucks. Yeah. This is all setting up. The Young Bucks versus Jurassic Express at. [00:35:03] Speaker C: Wrestle Dream, I believe for 500k. [00:35:06] Speaker B: Yeah. They don't say. Yeah. But either online or they announced later in the show it's gonna be 500, 000 money match. [00:35:12] Speaker A: Yes, it's the money match so that we can go back to the slots. This. I. I'm. [00:35:17] Speaker B: I like money as a step. I think that's it gives motivation. [00:35:21] Speaker C: Yeah, it's. [00:35:22] Speaker A: It's been cool. Like they've. I don't want to say they've been overusing it, but they've been using it a lot lately. [00:35:27] Speaker B: They do. Like it's a good time because it's almost like. Well, yeah, you guys are. They're making money for all the other matches too, right? [00:35:35] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:35:36] Speaker A: They've always. They've always talked about winners first anyway, so. Yeah. [00:35:40] Speaker B: But this fits with the story of the young bucks being broken. The broke box is wildly entertaining. So I'm cool with it. [00:35:45] Speaker A: And this should be. This should hopefully be a good showcase for the new Jurassic Express. And let's see if. [00:35:51] Speaker B: I know the match is probably gonna whip play. [00:35:54] Speaker A: Yeah. But it'll be nice to see if they can bring whatever character work they're going to be doing together in this. [00:36:00] Speaker B: Get up to that. The next level. [00:36:03] Speaker C: Yeah, because there's a lot of history between the four of those guys, as exemplified in their little shot that they took at Jungle Jack Perry, as he is called now, where they. They grabbed him and were like, hey, Jack, this is what's called a call back. And then hit him with the knife like he did to them. [00:36:25] Speaker A: It'll be good. I personally, if I was Jack Perry, I would have used my big off knife and stabbed the bucks. [00:36:32] Speaker B: That's how I was gonna end up. [00:36:33] Speaker C: Like, I took a look at his holder, and I'm not sure it was in there. It looked like it was missing. [00:36:37] Speaker B: I think he's just. Yeah, he's just wearing a holster. [00:36:39] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure Darby Allen had it in his backpack later on in the show. [00:36:43] Speaker A: He shouldn't do that unless he's gonna have the knife and, like, peace tie that, I guess. [00:36:49] Speaker B: But, like, he keeps us. He keeps string cheese in there for snacks. [00:36:56] Speaker C: That's how he's got. So he has luchasaurus on his side. [00:37:00] Speaker B: Little bits of cheese here and there out of his knife pocket. [00:37:03] Speaker C: It would get me to do a lot of things. [00:37:05] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, I know, that's. I'm easily enticed with cheese. The 500k. [00:37:08] Speaker A: I would wrestle the young man. I don't need string cheese for that. But, like, I'm not a wrestler, so it wouldn't be very good. [00:37:14] Speaker C: Can you imagine how much string cheese $500,000 would buy? [00:37:17] Speaker A: Yes. [00:37:17] Speaker B: At least. [00:37:18] Speaker A: I mean. Yeah, that's like. Shit's actually still kind of cheap, isn't it? [00:37:23] Speaker C: Yeah, nothing is anymore. [00:37:25] Speaker A: But I asked that. Like, I don't comparatively. [00:37:27] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah. I buy it every week. And I don't know. [00:37:31] Speaker A: Well, I don't. I don't work. I don't work in the dairy section. I work in the. You know, the drag. [00:37:35] Speaker B: You can walk around, you can scope. [00:37:38] Speaker A: No. [00:37:40] Speaker B: Banned from the dairy side. No. Return to dry goods. [00:37:43] Speaker A: Yeah, get out of here. This is the dairy. Go stack some cans. You. [00:37:53] Speaker C: I'm George D. Scott, and this is. [00:37:56] Speaker B: My fdom of cheese. [00:37:58] Speaker C: The D stands for Dairy George D. Scott. [00:38:04] Speaker A: That's not all it stands for. Oh, man. We're gonna have a George C. Scott podcast eventually. [00:38:13] Speaker B: It's morphing that way. [00:38:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:14] Speaker C: Yeah. It's slowly morphing into it. [00:38:18] Speaker B: Wednesday night, Fake Scott. [00:38:22] Speaker C: Scott's Day night. Fake fights. [00:38:23] Speaker A: It's Scatter Day night. [00:38:26] Speaker B: Back to professional wrestling. We go out back with the Death Riders cutting A promo about Pac's upcoming match with Orange Cassidy. Pat calls him Tangerine Balls at one point. Basically just says it's. It's nothing personal. It's not a rivalry to him or anything. He just really wants to Orange Cassidy up. Yeah, it says that. You want us to get it through it so that. Because the Death Riders have bigger things to get to. [00:38:50] Speaker A: Yep. [00:38:51] Speaker B: You know, you didn't Garcia start ranting, talking about being winners and all this kind of stuff and Moxie just kind of like, pouncing around behind. It's like a puma or something back there. [00:39:01] Speaker C: Yeah, he's back there pacing after his match. John Poom Oxley. Oh, sorry. [00:39:16] Speaker B: That's a good. That's a good furry all right there. [00:39:23] Speaker A: I'll leave it to the guy who's among us to make that determination. [00:39:26] Speaker B: I'm the only. I'm furry adjacent. I respect the culture and I appreciate what they do. [00:39:34] Speaker A: And Jon Moxley is a puma. [00:39:37] Speaker B: Yes. [00:39:38] Speaker C: You heard it here first. [00:39:39] Speaker A: Pughsman. [00:39:40] Speaker B: At the end of the promo, they all just walk in different directions. Like, they don't leave as a faction. [00:39:47] Speaker A: No, they. They scatter. They scatter to the wings. Like, you don't know where they're gonna be because you might just be, like, at catering. And then you hear. [00:39:57] Speaker B: My cheesesteak. [00:39:59] Speaker C: I do like how. I'm pretty sure this was filmed during this street fight from earlier in the evening because you can kind of hear the crowd change in the background. [00:40:13] Speaker B: I always love when that happens. [00:40:15] Speaker C: Your AEW audio issue of the night. [00:40:18] Speaker A: I don't know if that's an audio issue, but, like, I do enjoy it. [00:40:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, yeah. To me, as I said, I see a lot of, like, indie shows where they'll cut their little, like, backstage promos, like, just during the show. And you could literally, yeah, hear everybody in the background going. [00:40:32] Speaker C: It's how to go, guy. I tease. [00:40:35] Speaker A: We move on. [00:40:36] Speaker B: We got Kyle O'Reilly versus Kyle Fletcher for the TNT title. One of the titles Tuesday, it is Kyle versus Kyle. Action. [00:40:45] Speaker A: This was erotic. [00:40:46] Speaker C: It sure was. [00:40:47] Speaker B: It was very chiromatic. I will say it sucked because I always use people when I'm taking notes. I always use people's first names because they're shorter and stuff. And in this one, I could not do that. I was like. Kept having to remind me, no, I don't write just Kyle. You have to write Fletcher or O'Reilly so you know who the. You're talking about. [00:41:05] Speaker C: I. I cheekily wrote down Kyle versus Kyle Dash. Kyle wins. [00:41:13] Speaker B: You were right. Your prediction Came true. [00:41:15] Speaker A: The correct way for Kyle O'Reilly is to write K O R. That's even easier than writing O'Reilly. Yeah. [00:41:23] Speaker B: Or I could have done Kyle O or Kyle F and something like that. [00:41:26] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:41:27] Speaker A: Kyle O O. Kyle Osha Hennessy. [00:41:32] Speaker B: Yeah. This was a fun match, too. [00:41:33] Speaker C: Yeah, this match was awesome. [00:41:35] Speaker A: This ruled. [00:41:36] Speaker B: Yeah. These guys work really well together. [00:41:39] Speaker C: They do. [00:41:39] Speaker B: I do think Kyle O'Reilly doesn't quite move like he used to, and that's. I mean, time and injuries and everything like that, but he strings stuff together so well and, like, it. He's such a charismatic dude. I love watching. [00:41:52] Speaker C: Yeah, I think it. It still works. He kind of, like, again, everything just kind of flows. Like, when he's. He's doing stuff, he may not be as spry or as snappy as he, you know, maybe once was five, ten years ago, but, like, I'm not at that spry or snappy. [00:42:08] Speaker B: So he's been through a lot worse. [00:42:11] Speaker A: Yeah, his style doesn't really. Really lends itself very well to working that slower style. [00:42:18] Speaker B: And it transitioned to it. He did strikes and submission kind of game. [00:42:23] Speaker A: And, like, I don't know, like, any match where, like, you can, like, imagine Danielson, like, bouncing in his seat in excitement. [00:42:31] Speaker B: That's a great way to put it. [00:42:33] Speaker A: I. I said on blue Skies, like, find you somebody who talks about you the way Bryan Danielson talks about Kyle O'Reilly, because, like, holy. He was just like, oh, my God, Kyle O'Reilly's gonna do some stuff. It's gonna be great. Guy. Brian Danielson. [00:42:49] Speaker C: I watched AEW with some friends on Tuesday night who, like, watch wrestling and follow wrestling, but, like, don't always catch dynamite every week. And, like, we're just kind of sitting around, like, shooting the. And, like, this match came on, and there were, like, multiple times where, like, throughout that the match where we just kind of stopped talking and just watched, and we're like, oh, wow. Like, that's roped in just some brutal that they did. [00:43:14] Speaker A: It was. It was just so good. [00:43:16] Speaker B: Like, I like that it was kind of that same story they did with Orange Cassidy, where it was the power of Fletcher versus, like, a technique wrestler. And, like, he really shines in those. Like, I mean, both of them do, but Kyle Fletcher, like, is great against a guy like this. He really is. [00:43:31] Speaker C: They've really put him over as, like, a power wrestler. [00:43:34] Speaker A: And. [00:43:35] Speaker B: Yep, Kyle O'Reilly's, like, one of the best sellers in wrestling, too, so it really works incredibly well. [00:43:41] Speaker A: Yeah, it was. It's actually kind of. It's very. I don't know. I just remember, like, early career Kyle Fletcher being like this really scrawny guy. And now he's literally a power wrestler. [00:43:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, no. Yeah, he's. He's like twice the size he was. It's crazy. [00:44:00] Speaker A: Is he on the gas? Who can say? Not me. I would never say that. This was just awesome. Like. [00:44:08] Speaker B: Yeah, I. One little spot I really liked was where Fletcher is setting up O'Reilly for like. O'Reilly has a arm bar on Fletcher and Fletcher gets him up into the lawn part start position and chucks him into the corner while Kyle's still fighting at his arm the entire time, like, trying to get the submission in it. It looks like a struggle. [00:44:30] Speaker A: I loved. My favorite. One of my favorite spots was O'Reilly got Fletcher out down on the outside and basically, like, knocked him seated into a chair and then got like the biggest running jump start flying knee him while he's sitting in the chair. And like, you could hear Danielson ejaculate. [00:44:53] Speaker B: Yeah, he lost his mind. Yeah. [00:44:57] Speaker A: He was just marking out through that whole match. It was great. Like, O'Reilly's. O'Reilly's chain submissions and everything. Like, the fact that. What is it? Taz was just like, why don't you just pick one part of the one body part and focus on that? And Daniels is like, he's going after everything to keep. Wear him down. Go after everything. You can't. You can't. He can't defend against one specific thing. He protects the leg, go for the arm. Protects the arm, go for the leg. [00:45:25] Speaker B: Also, at one point, Taz says he's gotta top him here. [00:45:32] Speaker A: Yowie. [00:45:34] Speaker B: Yeah. It ends with O'Reilly hitting a bunch of brain busters on the. Or. Sorry, backwards there. Fletcher hits the. Oh, boy. And Buster on O'Reilly for the win. [00:45:45] Speaker C: Getting your. Kyle's mixed up. [00:45:47] Speaker B: That's why it happened. Yeah, that's what threw me off. [00:45:51] Speaker A: It was really good. [00:45:53] Speaker B: Fletcher calls out Lance Archer to attack Kyle. O'Reilly and Ishi and Strong come out to save him. Rocky then comes out and joins in and then Mark Briscoe comes out and he's the only one that gets any music played. Yeah, it's the only one that matters. Today's have a little face off between Mark and Kyle Fletcher and they're setting this up where it's going to be. Mark vs Kyle 5, their fifth match because they're 2 and 2 each up against Wrestle Dream for the TNT battle. [00:46:21] Speaker A: I'm looking forward to that. They haven't had a bad match yet? [00:46:24] Speaker B: No, it's gonna be great. Yeah. And, yeah, that's. I'm all for settling the. Getting that score even there. [00:46:30] Speaker A: I did. Like, they continued Don Callis throwing his headset when he leaves commentary. [00:46:36] Speaker B: That is a great touch. Yeah. [00:46:38] Speaker A: With like. Like, he sees Fletcher facing off with Mark, and he's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. [00:46:44] Speaker B: Boom. [00:46:45] Speaker C: Just, just, just. Just a great. [00:46:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:49] Speaker C: Like, Foley effects by Don Callis a plus. [00:46:54] Speaker A: And, like, he's. He's a. He's a. You know, say what you want about giving him every heel under the sun, but, like, he's very good at what he does. Yeah, he's entertaining. Yeah. [00:47:07] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:47:08] Speaker B: They even have, like, a little backstage thing with Renee with Fletcher and Don and Archer and Renee asking Fletcher why he backed away from Mark. They just kind of set up the coming match for Wrestle Dream. Again, very, very exciting stuff. [00:47:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:21] Speaker B: And we do move on to another title match on this Tuesday. It is Mercedes Monet's open challenge for anyone from Florida. Very specific parameters. The challenger is. [00:47:36] Speaker A: Wow. [00:47:37] Speaker B: Yeah. I'd say the challenger is Lacey Lane, who was Kaden Carter. And nxt, they do a little video package on her, kind of showing her off. She's been doing Ring of Honor stuff and some, like. I think I've seen her in TJPW once or something. Like, she's. She's a very good wrestler. [00:47:51] Speaker A: I don't think I've ever seen her wrestle until this match. [00:47:55] Speaker C: That makes two of us. [00:47:57] Speaker B: Yeah. And I know I. She, her and this other girl from NXT that were like a tag team there. Katana Chance, I think is her name. She's like a ninja warrior competitor. They both got cut at the same time, so there's a lot of, like, rumors that they're gonna be one of the teams brought in for the women's tag team stuff, which I think would be a nice little, like, filling out of the division. They're both good. Yeah. Good wrestlers. [00:48:19] Speaker A: Not to harp too much on the Fed, but Katana Chance, really, I don't. [00:48:25] Speaker B: Quote me on that. I could be misremembering the name. [00:48:28] Speaker A: The NXT name generator has been broken for at least a decade at this point. I looked it up. [00:48:34] Speaker C: I can corroborate that. I'm like, it is. Yeah, yeah. It was Katana something. [00:48:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:48:42] Speaker A: Shawn Michaels. Your name's gonna be Katana Chance. [00:48:45] Speaker B: I picked it from Cyberpunk 2077. [00:48:50] Speaker A: There's no way he knows what the that is. [00:48:52] Speaker B: No, no. Yeah. [00:48:53] Speaker A: No one in WWE knows what the Cyberpunk 2027 is. [00:48:57] Speaker B: We've all seen the image of him typing on a keyboard. He's not playing video. [00:49:03] Speaker C: The worst such typer they're ever done been. [00:49:08] Speaker B: Yeah, this, this does end up being a very fun little match. Lacy gets the show out. Mercedes gives her a ton of. [00:49:15] Speaker A: Yes. This was very much a showcase for Lacey. Elaine. [00:49:23] Speaker B: Yeah, Danielson really like pops for her. Like it's really behind her. [00:49:28] Speaker C: I'm into her in the 10, which we can harp on this in a second. In the 10 minutes that this match got, she looked awesome and I'm excited to see more of her on aew. [00:49:43] Speaker B: Was this the only women's match? [00:49:44] Speaker C: This sure was the only women match. [00:49:46] Speaker B: Yeah. That's. [00:49:48] Speaker A: What was that? [00:49:49] Speaker B: 32 and a half hour show. [00:49:51] Speaker C: 90, 120, 150 minutes. 10 of those were a women's match. [00:49:57] Speaker B: Tony. [00:50:01] Speaker A: You will pay for your crimes. [00:50:03] Speaker B: We want to like you. We wanna. [00:50:05] Speaker A: Why do you hate women, Tony? Are you gay? [00:50:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:50:10] Speaker A: Don't quote me on that. [00:50:11] Speaker B: I mean I'm glad they use it to put over somebody new. And as it ends, unsurprisingly with Mercedes hitting the Monet maker for the win, that puts her away quick. Yeah. Which is not my favorite finisher. And it just never seems like it connects. I just prefer doing like the backstabber into the state. [00:50:29] Speaker A: I don't know, I mean she, some people, it, it depends on who's taking it. [00:50:34] Speaker B: She never seems to grab the actual like headlock for the ddt. She flips them over and like kind vaguely puts her arm near the. Their back. [00:50:43] Speaker A: Right. [00:50:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I've seen it connect well like once or twice. [00:50:48] Speaker A: But like a lot of it does depend on how much of a flip somebody can put into it. Yeah. [00:50:54] Speaker B: But that's why I, I don't think it works well because most people just can't seem to do that. [00:50:59] Speaker C: Like I think this was a better looking one and I still don't think it looked great. [00:51:03] Speaker A: That's a great Lacy. Well, I did like, I did like. I did like her. I guess it would be her finisher. I don't know what it's called, but she did like that arm capture. [00:51:14] Speaker B: Oh, the flat liner thing. [00:51:17] Speaker A: Because it was more like. It was more like a switchblade or Blade Runner. That's what it, that's what it's called. [00:51:22] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:51:24] Speaker A: Like the hammerlock Blade Runner looked pretty good. [00:51:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:51:27] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:51:28] Speaker A: I wish I had more to say about this match, like because it wasn't. [00:51:32] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean it was what it was There was. [00:51:34] Speaker A: There wasn't a lot to it, and I don't think the. The finish was in doubt, but Lacy looked nice. Quite a bit. [00:51:41] Speaker B: Yeah. I, I hope they do something with the tag division with her, and I'm ready for that women's tag belt to get more than one match on a show, hopefully. [00:51:49] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, I never. I never know what to think about these women who are mostly in nxt, especially, like, newer. [00:51:57] Speaker B: Yes. I, I'm to the. Like I said, I think I've maybe seen one match of hers, like, since she. I know I watched her in Ring of Honor, but, like, maybe one side. [00:52:05] Speaker A: Of that, like, there's a whole. There's a whole thing you can say about how NXT treats their women's division and the women's wrestlers that train in the performance center. [00:52:16] Speaker B: My understanding their women's division is usually, like, the best part of nxt from what a lot of people say it's. [00:52:22] Speaker A: The best part, but, I mean, I'm not qualified to really talk about it without doing my research on it. But, like, there's. There's. There's issues and, like, there's a lot of injuries. [00:52:32] Speaker B: Yeah, that's very true. [00:52:33] Speaker A: That probably shouldn't happen. So. Yeah, take that. Of what. Make of that what you will. I hope. I hope she, you know, has success outside of it. [00:52:42] Speaker B: There's a lot of heartbreak in kids. Sorry. [00:52:49] Speaker C: Maybe not. No, maybe not that. [00:52:51] Speaker B: I was just trying to make a show. Michael's joke. I wasn't trying to infer anything. [00:52:55] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:52:56] Speaker A: He's a. He's a. [00:53:00] Speaker B: Yeah. I never get forgiven for Marty Janetti, but yeah, we move on. We have a preview video for the Beast Mortos versus Eddie. This coming collision, because they're just doing. Yeah, I know it's gonna whip. They're doing Eddie versus basically all of lfi. It definitely seems like they're building towards Eddie versus Sammy because each of these promos is just Sammy talking and Eddie being like, stop letting him talk for you, because I'm just gonna beat the. Out of you because of him. Like, every time. [00:53:28] Speaker A: This has the. The. The meme of the week with glasses mortars. [00:53:36] Speaker B: That was great. Yes. [00:53:37] Speaker A: When he's got. When he's got the. The glasses on, then he is the Reverend Dr. Franklin Delano Mortos, Esquire. [00:53:45] Speaker B: Esquire. Yeah. [00:53:48] Speaker C: Is that what it says for law school? [00:53:52] Speaker A: No, I don't think it has the Monet, but yeah, like, it's definitely like, oh, yeah, he's. He's a reverend Dr. Franklin Delano Esquire. Mortise. [00:54:03] Speaker B: Yeah. We move on to Brodido versus Okada and Takeshita in a double eliminator match where if Okada and Takeshita get the win, they get a title shot against Brodido. Or if Bandito or Brody King get the pin, they get a shot at Okada's unified title. And it does not have to be a pinfall on Okada. It can be on either of the other team. Whoever gets the pin gets the title shot. There's some fun stakes behind this match. [00:54:27] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:54:29] Speaker B: The big story is Bandido had a match against Hechicero in CMLL where Echicero just fucked up Bandido's arm. That's. I haven't seen the match. I assume that's, like, the story they told through that. And this is a continuation of it. Bandido has a sling on his arm. They work the arm all throughout it very much like the crux of the match. [00:54:51] Speaker A: I did, like, when they announced this match, Brody King replied to the post about it and was like, Mr. Bandito, tape your arm up. We've got work to do. [00:55:02] Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, Bandito's great at, like, this underdog, baby, fighting through the pain kind of thing. Like, people are just so behind him. He's one of the wrestlers. This kind of thing works great. And Brody is still insanely over. [00:55:15] Speaker A: He did so much power stuff while selling the art. Like, you see. Is he legitimately hurt? I don't actually know, so. [00:55:22] Speaker B: But I don't. It might be one of those where, like, a minor. If he was legitimate or bad enough, they wouldn't have him wrestle. [00:55:29] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:55:29] Speaker B: But it might be like, you know, he got a strain or something on it, and they're like, okay, well, he's fine now, but let's keep it going as like, a kayfabe continuation of that. [00:55:38] Speaker A: And, like, he. He is legitimately strong. Like, I could believe he can one arm deadlift, Takeshita. [00:55:47] Speaker C: Yeah, and he did. [00:55:49] Speaker A: And he did. Oh, he did. God damn, he did. [00:55:53] Speaker B: They did do a cool spot, too, where Bandito hits that like, X me movie does. And he goes and tries to 21 flex, but his arm, like, gives out on him during it. I was like, that was a very cool. [00:56:03] Speaker A: There was a lot like that. [00:56:04] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't have a tone for this match, but it was a fun match. [00:56:07] Speaker A: This match was very fun. It was very short, and it was setting up for what would come for Wrestle Dream. But, like, they. They did a lot of cool spots, like Takeshita hitting that wheelbarrow. [00:56:20] Speaker B: Oh, I'M I'm Brody. [00:56:21] Speaker A: German on Brody was like that. That was holy. [00:56:25] Speaker C: Yeah, that was wild. [00:56:27] Speaker B: Well, one thing we forgot to mention too, during the introductions to the match, John Callison, Takeshita going for their intro and Okada fucking cuts it right off and comes out and steals all the adulation. So they're still working this. Yeah, the Okada Takeshita drain in the relationship stuff plays a very big part coming out. [00:56:47] Speaker A: It. [00:56:48] Speaker C: It played a part in the finish too, where Takeshita, like, was about to win it and Okada's like, no, no, no, no, no. Tags himself in, hits the rainmaker. One, two, three. [00:57:02] Speaker B: Yep. Steals the bin for himself. Yeah. [00:57:05] Speaker A: And then just books. And then he books. Yeah. [00:57:08] Speaker C: Yeah. It was Okada that just like took his belt. Walked off. [00:57:11] Speaker B: Yep. I won. I'm out. I love dickhead Okada. I always will. [00:57:14] Speaker A: He's. He's great. And I. I did appreciate Danielson finally setting the record straight on how Senpai Kohai works. [00:57:22] Speaker B: Yeah, they talked about that for quite a while. [00:57:25] Speaker A: It does not apply to these two men. It does. [00:57:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:57:31] Speaker B: Don Cal is always using that as the excuse. [00:57:34] Speaker A: Don Callis is a fight me, Don. Fight me, fight me, Cyrus. [00:57:40] Speaker B: Yep. [00:57:41] Speaker A: I'm calling you out. [00:57:43] Speaker B: We do have okada and Takeshita vs Brodido for the tag team title set for Wrestle Dream, which I'm kind of. [00:57:50] Speaker C: Curious how that's gonna go. [00:57:52] Speaker B: I assume it's. [00:57:54] Speaker C: They haven't done a dysfunctional tag team champs like angle in. [00:57:59] Speaker B: I don't think Bernito's losing. Unless. [00:58:02] Speaker A: No, this. This retained the belts. Yeah. [00:58:06] Speaker B: I think this is gonna be just face turn for Takeshita or if not the. It actually executing coming up, you know, setting it so it's happening soon. [00:58:14] Speaker A: Yeah. Like I. I honestly was expecting them to do. To catch for Russell Dream. Yeah. [00:58:21] Speaker B: I thought they're gonna break up during this match and then set them up one on one. [00:58:25] Speaker A: Still time now. I don't know when they're gonna do it. I don't think. [00:58:29] Speaker B: No, I think they might break up at the paper. I think they're gonna lose. And then at the end, Teshta is going to lay out Okada and maybe Don Gallas and get a huge P. Now. [00:58:37] Speaker C: We can only hope. [00:58:39] Speaker A: So then what? Do the match at World's End? [00:58:42] Speaker C: Sure. [00:58:43] Speaker B: Or yeah, save it. Have TakeShita win the IGWP belt and then have Okada vs Takeshita at Wrestle Kingdom. That you can go to. [00:58:55] Speaker A: I don't know if I'm going to that. [00:58:56] Speaker B: There's ticket you can sneak in there's prices. [00:59:00] Speaker A: No, you can't. [00:59:01] Speaker B: You will find. [00:59:02] Speaker A: Let's not sneak into the Tokyo Dome. I'm. I might. I might go. I might go sit in the nosebleeds with Matt. [00:59:10] Speaker B: There you go. [00:59:11] Speaker A: And their kids. [00:59:14] Speaker B: They aren't there. [00:59:15] Speaker A: I. I don't. I don't think they're Gonna do Okada vs Takeshita at Tokyo Dome. [00:59:21] Speaker B: Probably not. Not fantasy booking, spitballing. I don't even think. I don't think Takesh is going to win the belt from Zach on Monday, but I could be wrong. [00:59:32] Speaker A: No, he probably won't win it. I don't think he'll win it. It's. This is not a new Japan. This is not a new Japan podcast. [00:59:39] Speaker B: Yeah, we're on the wrong show. Yeah. No, that's not bad. [00:59:42] Speaker A: Yeah. I don't think it's gonna happen backstage. [00:59:47] Speaker B: Yeah. With Renee Jetspeed and Willow Nightingale, where they are setting up the mixed trios match for Collision, where it is Luvis 3 versus Megan Bain and FTR. The only other notable thing is that Kevin Knight calls Stokely Strokely, which seems to catch on quite quickly. I even wrote. Then they go backstage with Strokely and ftr. It just feels right already. Yeah. Yeah. Stokely says he doesn't respect Willow. He does kind of respect Jaspy for being Will. Defy hates him. Megan Bain and Penelope Ford join them. And Megan is very big. [01:00:25] Speaker C: She sure is. [01:00:27] Speaker A: I know the. The headpiece makes her bigger. But wait, hold on. [01:00:31] Speaker B: And, I mean, I imagine she might be in some, like, heel ass stuff. They didn't. But, like, I guess next to Stokely, she towers over. She is taller than FTR is. [01:00:43] Speaker C: She looks like a monster compared to him. It's awesome. [01:00:47] Speaker B: Well, that's. I saw her. Yeah. I mean, I'm 6:1. I saw her at GCW, and I was like, this. We standing next to her, like, scarcely a little over. So she's probably, like, just about 6 foot or something like that. [01:00:58] Speaker A: She's 5 11. She's, like, the same. [01:01:01] Speaker B: So, yeah, a little bit shorter, but taller than FTR and definitely taller than Stokely. [01:01:06] Speaker A: This is the thing that kills me about. I. I don't know if it's. It's like a dysphoria thing or what, but, like, the. Like, you look at, like, Kris Statlander, Megan Bay, and. Oh, my God, these tall women are so huge. And then, like, I'm, like, the same height as them, and I was like, yeah, I feel short, but I do. But do I. I'm huge. Anyway, Trans girl Things I relate. [01:01:36] Speaker B: We're all huge compared to stroke. Like when you got. And next to him, it just. It's all gonna be big. [01:01:43] Speaker A: I would put. Pick him up and put them in my purse if I could, but I'm not that strong. [01:01:48] Speaker B: I did. Like, they were doing the outro line, and Stokely goes to say, top guys out, and Megan Bain stops him and says, top gods out. [01:01:55] Speaker A: I don't. [01:01:56] Speaker B: You know, that was cool. Yeah, she fits. Yes. I'm excited for this match. I think they fit together very. It's an interesting and fun pairing. [01:02:03] Speaker A: She's gonna throw somebody into orbit. [01:02:07] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:02:07] Speaker C: Stokely, probably. [01:02:09] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. No, I was gonna say it's probably. It's probably gonna be. Mike Bailey's gonna get tossed. [01:02:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Poor little guy. Yeah. We also hop to another backstage segment with Renee and Brodito. Bandito is genuinely very sad, seeming like this was a heartbreaking little thing. [01:02:28] Speaker A: I. I felt so bad. It's like, oh, man. [01:02:32] Speaker B: Yeah. So he doesn't want to make excuses, but he blames himself. And Brody's just like, no, that you're not. Yeah, we're gonna come back stronger. Don't blame yourself. Says he's the best wrestler on earth and they're gonna win at wrestle. [01:02:45] Speaker C: What a great, like, tag team partner, best friend to have in your corner. [01:02:50] Speaker B: Very good dynamic. [01:02:51] Speaker A: There's such an awesome team. I don't want them to lose the titles. [01:02:54] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. I don't think it's gonna happen for a while. [01:02:57] Speaker A: They. They need to win, like, and they. Somebody. Somebody needs to pin Okada. [01:03:02] Speaker B: Yep. [01:03:03] Speaker A: Like, let. Let Bandito pin Okada. Do Okada versus Band. [01:03:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Do it for Roh title. [01:03:10] Speaker A: Why not do it, Tony? You book it, Tony. Yeah, book it, Tony. [01:03:16] Speaker B: Give the tag bouts to Big Bill and Brian Keith. That's what you want to do. I have to joke because I do love those guys. [01:03:25] Speaker A: They are cool. Yeah. [01:03:27] Speaker B: We go to our main event, which is Orange Cassidy versus the Bastard. [01:03:33] Speaker A: Oh, this bastard. [01:03:34] Speaker B: Yeah. He is all funky looking now and his super strong machine singlet and his short little boy hair, but God damn, is he buff. He is scary in shape. [01:03:49] Speaker A: Like, I saw somebody say he looks like a Roman guy on a coin. That's pretty good. [01:04:00] Speaker C: I did not particularly love Pac's look for this show. [01:04:06] Speaker A: You're not supposed to. [01:04:07] Speaker B: I thought it looked. I didn't mind the, like, long pants when he took his strap down later at the end, it was just. Just a long pan. But yeah, the. The singlet top is very odd looking. [01:04:18] Speaker C: It didn't work. His nipples are poking out the side. He looked silly. He looked pretty. [01:04:22] Speaker A: You know what he needs? You know what he needs? He's got to do that. He needs that. That Harlem Heat plastic ring in the middle. [01:04:28] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, the. The old joint. Yeah. [01:04:36] Speaker A: I don't even know what that's called. It's just like. [01:04:38] Speaker B: No, I was thinking of the word for it. I kept. Yeah. I wanted to say. Wait. No, but that's the Cody thing. [01:04:42] Speaker A: No, it's like. It's like a little circle. [01:04:44] Speaker B: No, I know what you're talking. Yeah, I can't think of the word. [01:04:46] Speaker A: A little sonic. It's got a little sonic ring on his titties. [01:04:48] Speaker B: It's the cigar ring kind of. Yeah. These guys have great chemistry. That's. There's a reason they are like. This is a defining rivalry. But in aew, his pack and Cassidy, they work great together. Their characters clash in like the best possible way to like intense real world, like scary dude effect versus Orange. Cassidy's like ironic goofiness is always a fun time. [01:05:17] Speaker A: Oh yeah. I like how it's now become a standard practice for Orange. Cassidy matches to. Do not let him put his hands in his pocket. [01:05:25] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:26] Speaker A: Stop him at all costs or you are. [01:05:29] Speaker C: The entire roster has finally figured out that that's his power up. So they have to stop him from doing it because it's detrimental to their ability to win and succeed in the match. [01:05:40] Speaker B: Managing his feet in there. [01:05:42] Speaker A: This is pants legs. [01:05:45] Speaker B: Yeah, that really cool spot where Orange goes for a dive and pat catches him out of midair and turns it into a falcon arrow. Like on the outside. He did the details. Him on the ground. Yeah. Nobody kicks off. [01:05:59] Speaker C: He looked jacked. [01:06:01] Speaker A: That's. [01:06:01] Speaker B: Yeah. No, and he's always a jacked, like in shape dude. Like he's obviously like one of the probably most in shape men in the world. But yeah, he's taking it to a new level with his weird haircut. [01:06:13] Speaker A: So like I have era. I haven't. I haven't heard really one way or the other. But like I. I have a theory that he's wearing the. Is with the singlet because he's probably got his. He had like an injury on his leg. Probably got like a guitar and it's still taped up and all that. And he can't like quite work out his legs the way he used to. [01:06:33] Speaker B: But like that's possible. [01:06:35] Speaker A: He's super jacked. Up top. [01:06:37] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:06:39] Speaker C: I think you take the singlet off. I think it looks great. [01:06:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Just the long pants I thought actually worked Really? I. That and the short hair. I'm cool with that. Instead of the trunks and long grease. [01:06:51] Speaker A: He's like Scott Steiner huge right now. [01:06:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:06:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:06:55] Speaker A: Holy big papa Pack. Yeah. [01:06:59] Speaker B: I literally wrote down, pulls down the. [01:07:02] Speaker A: Straps and God damn, like holy gender affirming titties. [01:07:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:07:10] Speaker A: Lucky bastard motorboat those things for days. [01:07:16] Speaker B: Yeah. They hit so much cool in this too. They try. They. Pack goes for the dive again and. Or Orange Cassie goes for the dive again. Pat catches them. And Orange turns it into the stun dog on the floor and then hits a diving DDT onto the floor after that. And then an Orange punch. It was just like the coolest little sequence of moves they even do. Like, Orange gets Pack up on the table and Orange Cassidy goes to the top rope from the inside, jumps to the table on the outside and just crushes them. [01:07:45] Speaker A: Like, that looked nasty as hell because, like, he just dead weighted flopped on him. [01:07:52] Speaker B: Yeah, just hit him. [01:07:54] Speaker C: He like, barely got his hands in his pockets before he got through the table. [01:07:59] Speaker A: Right? [01:07:59] Speaker B: Yeah. No, it was close. [01:08:01] Speaker A: It was kind of like a coffin drop, but. [01:08:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:08:04] Speaker A: Easier. [01:08:05] Speaker C: It was. It was a coffin flop. [01:08:07] Speaker B: It was a sloth and drop. [01:08:14] Speaker A: I'm not worried about it. [01:08:17] Speaker B: I'm George C. Scott and I love wordplay. [01:08:20] Speaker A: There's worse on tv. [01:08:23] Speaker C: OC After OC Falling off of turnbuckles and hitting bastards. [01:08:30] Speaker A: Busting through wood. [01:08:32] Speaker B: Literally. Yeah. Yeah. The match ends up having a very. A unique finish. They fight up into the crowd, get the count going, and guess who's there? It's Darby. [01:08:46] Speaker C: And he hands Darby. [01:08:48] Speaker A: Yeah, Darby doing like a goblin thing. Like. Yeah. [01:08:52] Speaker B: He has to close out every show now. He puts. He handcuffs Pac's leg to the guardrail and Orange Cassidy makes it back, but somehow, like, Pack just pulls his. Like, it takes two seconds. So he's just kind of behind Orange Cassidy and get hops in the ring. [01:09:08] Speaker C: I have to wonder if those were supposed to break or not, because it really feels like he was supposed to be stuck there and then break out. [01:09:16] Speaker B: It wasn't. [01:09:17] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:09:17] Speaker B: It's really weirdly short. How long he's actually chained to the thing. [01:09:22] Speaker C: Yeah. Because, like, he like, booked it back after that thing broke because, like. [01:09:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:09:27] Speaker C: He's not gonna stand there with and like, fake it because it's not the Fed. So he, like, hauls ass back, like, down the ramp, does this, like, beautiful leap into the ring and then O.C. just rolls him up, crosses the legs. 1, 2, 3. And pack's just like, God damn it. [01:09:46] Speaker A: Yeah, that was. That was kind of Weird, now that I think about it, but it's like. [01:09:51] Speaker B: How would they have communicated that? I don't know. But, yeah, it's. [01:09:54] Speaker C: They're goddamn professionals. That's. [01:09:56] Speaker A: I. I mean, just. Just the fact that he got back into the ring and they're like, okay, we still gotta. I'm pretty sure it. It must have been supposed to be a count out spot, but. Yeah, they up. [01:10:07] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, if they did, they. If they did, they recovered beautifully. Yeah. [01:10:10] Speaker A: Yeah. It was it like that. The Cazadora with the legs crossed is like a legit finishing pin, I think, because. Because, like, one thing you learn is, like, if you cross people's body parts over each other, they're weaker than if they're like, you know, straight out. So, like, Orange. Orange Cassidy did the thing. He did the deal. [01:10:31] Speaker B: Leverage Jones. Yeah. Yeah. So after that, Darby comes out with a backpack and he's got all kinds of crazy eyes. Pot goes after him. I think Utah comes out after him too. Pat Darby Maces them, which is very funny. Yeah. Because the. [01:10:51] Speaker A: The. [01:10:51] Speaker B: It was funny because the commentators start selling it and coughing, but the people in the audience immediately behind pack that it also would have gone all over are just not reacting at all. [01:11:01] Speaker C: Yeah, right. [01:11:02] Speaker B: It's like, no, if you give. If there's mace within, like, three feet of you, you're gonna be coughing and choking and die. And like. Yeah. Commentary is trying to sell it. [01:11:11] Speaker A: Yeah, I. That. No, I noticed that nobody said, like, he's got pepper spray, he's got Mace. They just, like, started coughing. [01:11:18] Speaker B: No, exactly. Yeah. It's a bit of a cheesy spot. Yeah. The rest of Death Riders come out, and now Darby has a stun gun. The Death Riders flee, and Darby now has a Molotov cocktail. [01:11:33] Speaker C: What the. This is escalating the whole armory in that jam, sport. [01:11:39] Speaker B: Holy Security is on his ass too. That one dude spared him. [01:11:44] Speaker A: No, no, it's like, Darby. [01:11:46] Speaker B: No, put that down. [01:11:49] Speaker C: The one wrestling security guard that's ever done anything consequential saved Darby Allen from throwing a Molotov cocktail at the Death Riders. [01:11:58] Speaker A: God damn. [01:11:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:11:59] Speaker A: Like, my. My favorite part about this whole thing was. Box is like, furious and pacing, and Darby is, like, pulling out Molotov and then Marina grabs him. Is like, it's a trap. Yeah, let's just fucking go. [01:12:15] Speaker B: Marina is literally the best part of the Death Rider sometimes. Yeah, it's a trap. Like, just fucking be smart, dude. [01:12:22] Speaker C: The only person with any kind of sense in the entire group. [01:12:25] Speaker A: I legitimately think half. That's half the reason Mox recruited her is like, listen, I need a woman who's like not going to be a psychopath every second of the day. [01:12:36] Speaker B: I like the touch too that now with Mox's entrance they always have Marina like slapping him to get him all fired up and too. It's such a cool touch. [01:12:45] Speaker A: She's been my favorite part of the Death Riders. [01:12:47] Speaker B: She's been. Yeah. This has been. Yeah. Works so well for her and yeah. I just. With Mox and Darby, I don't care about the story. Like I'm. I know the whole point. Like we're. I feel like we're. We've seen plenty at this point and I know it's going to be a crazy match and I'm probably gonna enjoy it because I love spot fest and I love crazy death match and these guys are going to do insane. [01:13:11] Speaker A: I. [01:13:12] Speaker C: Yes. [01:13:12] Speaker B: Almost sure fire is going to be a part of it. Like, but I just don't care about the story. [01:13:17] Speaker A: Someone is going to have a gun. Like somebody. [01:13:19] Speaker C: That's the only. That's the only like next logical step is somebody's gonna get shot and say. [01:13:25] Speaker B: Yeah, it's an escalation thing of like where is this going to go at this point? So I'm excited to see it but it's like I'm also really ready for this view to be done. [01:13:33] Speaker C: It really felt and I know we said it in the last week or two, it really felt like the coffin match was a great place to end it it and then they just have kind of drug it on. [01:13:44] Speaker B: I don't know if it's carrying on this story of Mox where he's like bringing out the true selves of people in AEW and like he's bringing out the all the true craziness and turning Darby into a killer kind of thing. And that's like gonna be the big arc as he made Darby even more crazy and now he's ready to be that next level wrestler. [01:14:03] Speaker C: But doesn't seem like a good. [01:14:04] Speaker A: No, no, yeah, that doesn't seem like a good idea. [01:14:07] Speaker B: Like, I mean it worked for Stat. She's the champion. [01:14:11] Speaker C: That's true. [01:14:11] Speaker B: He made her her true. So yeah. [01:14:13] Speaker A: Yeah. But like he made. [01:14:15] Speaker B: It's also wrestling writing and storylines. [01:14:18] Speaker A: He made Stat a champion and then what did he do to Darby? He turned him into a serial killer. [01:14:24] Speaker B: Made him an arsonist. [01:14:26] Speaker A: Yeah, he's already an arsonist. Like he was the one that brought out the flames. Yeah. [01:14:35] Speaker B: He said he burned the boy right off. [01:14:40] Speaker A: That's a sentence that you can say about wrestling is he set Jack Perry on fire. [01:14:45] Speaker B: Remember Luke Perry's kid? Yeah. Watch him get torched. No, but I'm excited and I mean this is all just setting up for Wrestle Dream, which is looking to be a stack pay per view. It's. There's not a match I'm not stoked for. On it. Sure. They're gonna set at least probably three or four more. That'll be amazing. [01:15:03] Speaker A: Like at this point, Russell Dream feels more like what Forbidden Door used to feel like. Yeah. Yeah. And they're very. They've been. They've done a. They've. They've booked this very smartly and that like there's minimal story to most of these matches, but they're also matches that like. Yes, I want to see that. Yeah, yeah. I want to see that happen. [01:15:25] Speaker C: I'm just curious like what they're gonna do next week because like you said, there's not a lot of build that all these need. So like what do you do for one more week when everybody's like, all right, we're super excited to see these matches. And then you have to push a little bit more. [01:15:41] Speaker A: I'm gonna. [01:15:42] Speaker B: You can't do it. Are the apps still the trios champs? [01:15:45] Speaker A: Yes. [01:15:45] Speaker B: Yes. You can't do anything with that because Joe's in the main. [01:15:48] Speaker A: I'm gonna guess maybe not the main belt match. [01:15:53] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:15:53] Speaker A: Probably next week they'll do Hangman versus Powerhouse. That would be very cool. [01:15:57] Speaker B: A PowerPoint. PowerPoint. Hops was amazing. [01:16:02] Speaker A: Super Sasadango wasn't in that match. [01:16:06] Speaker B: It would be nice to see how clone do something like actually have him wrestle at some point. Like I know that up, but let's get him. Let's start having him mix it up. Have inverse Orange Cassidy or something. [01:16:17] Speaker A: I like hell. It's Wrestle Dream bring in, I don't know, Titan or something. [01:16:21] Speaker B: That'd be sick. [01:16:23] Speaker A: Yeah, that would be. That would be crazy if they brought in Teton to wrestle. [01:16:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Probably need a match for Mercedes. Like I don't know. [01:16:32] Speaker A: True. [01:16:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:16:33] Speaker A: Yeah. I know Sheeta is back in the. [01:16:36] Speaker B: Yeah. She and just resigned a multi year deal. Yep. That'd be a cool turn around. [01:16:42] Speaker A: I don't. I don't know who else is left. [01:16:44] Speaker B: Katana Chance. It's her time. I've got a bad name. [01:16:55] Speaker A: And baddies because I worked in nxt. I don't know if she has bad knees or not. [01:16:59] Speaker B: No, I think she's just. [01:17:01] Speaker A: I just know that exploding knee syndrome is something that happens down in Down In Florida. The performance Saturday. Data Florida. [01:17:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:17:10] Speaker A: Exploding knees and Christian nationalism. [01:17:13] Speaker B: Yeah. I do believe next week we are back with a three hour Dynamite because they're gonna do. [01:17:18] Speaker A: Oh, God. [01:17:19] Speaker B: Yep, they're doing. Yep. They're back on their. Tony doesn't like us to sleep. [01:17:26] Speaker A: I hate wrestling. [01:17:27] Speaker B: Yeah, because they can't do a collision on Saturday. They're doing the. Wait, is the pay per view Saturday? [01:17:33] Speaker A: Yep. No, it's okay. Oh, is it Saturday? I thought it was Sunday. [01:17:36] Speaker C: I believe it's Saturday. [01:17:37] Speaker B: Yeah. I think that's. They're gonna do that like t. The back. The book. I don't know, whatever. It was the. Oh, yeah, like the little hour pre show on tv. [01:17:47] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [01:17:48] Speaker B: And then they'll have. Collision will be an hour after Dynamite for three hours. Which means watch two hours one night and one hour the next day. [01:17:57] Speaker A: Oh, man. [01:17:58] Speaker C: A lot of wrestling coming up. [01:18:00] Speaker A: Wrestling coming up. I don't even know if I'm gonna get to. When I'm gonna get to watch the pay per view. I gotta be honest with you. This is the first time I watched a show live in a couple months. [01:18:11] Speaker B: I know. I'm surprised when we were all in the chat and everyone's talking about it. I'm like, I'm the only one who watches it live. [01:18:16] Speaker A: I. I like. Work has basically kept me from being able to watch it live. [01:18:20] Speaker B: But like, it was actually kind of nice having it be a Tuesday show too. And having that little like. [01:18:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:18:24] Speaker B: In between and everything. [01:18:25] Speaker C: Watching it. The. Watching it live with everyone. [01:18:28] Speaker A: I don't usually have off Tuesdays, but I was so, like, it turned out good. You know what? Let's fire up the VPN and illegally watch it on Triller. And it was good. Like, I was. I. This. This was probably my favorite Dynamite in weeks. [01:18:43] Speaker B: Yeah, it was a great show live. [01:18:45] Speaker C: It was. [01:18:46] Speaker B: It was a very well done one. [01:18:48] Speaker A: Very good. I'm excited for the pay per view. [01:18:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:18:51] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:18:52] Speaker B: It's. It's wrestle Dream season in Scotttober. [01:18:56] Speaker A: It's wrestle dream season. [01:18:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:18:58] Speaker A: And it's also Scotttober. [01:19:00] Speaker C: Scott Tober. [01:19:02] Speaker B: I'll see you all in St. Louis. [01:19:06] Speaker C: Keep your eyes on the Monday night fake fights. Patreon [email protected] mnffpod for maybe a little special scotttober treat for y'. [01:19:18] Speaker A: All. Yeah. [01:19:20] Speaker C: Who knows what that might be? [01:19:21] Speaker B: All right, on that note, I think we're gonna call it a night. That was some fun wrestling. Happy wrestling. Goodbye, everybody. [01:19:48] Speaker A: Me Jesus. Me Jesus. Me Jesus. Yeah. [01:19:51] Speaker B: Story of my life.
