Show Notes

What did you get for the Secret Santa? Well, we got a whole Holiday Bash Dynallision from AEW and for you, we got in our stocking... AN ULTIMATE HAMPTER. Just don't play their music or else you might get a copyright warning from Jim Johnston. Anyway, Dynallision, three hours of wrestling that always manages to test our patience for this show that we have chosen to talk about weekly. But how did this marathon from Manchester, England shake out? We had Continental Classic matches, contract signings, battle royales, men's tag title matches, and a surprise return in a pear tree. Plus, what everyone is really here for: the evolution of The Ultimate Hampter...

Light the fuse already, I can't come up with a good pun or reference this week. Sorry I can't be on 24/7, SHARON.

[00:00:07] Speaker A: In the beginning, the earth was a dark formless void. But then God spoke and said, let there be wrestling. And with that there was Monday and wrestling happened on Mondays. And God looked upon her works and said, holy shit, that's a lot of racism in video packages. On the second day God got depressed and lo did she post about it on the DVD VR forums. And with that, there was Tuesday. On the third day, God said, let there be Wednesday. And lo did the people reply unto her. We know what that means. And welcome back to Wednesday night fake fights where we talk all things AEW Dynamite. I am once again not Jeff the Tokyo Mongoose. He has been called away to the fifth dimension for cobra related reasons. That's what mongooses do, right? They. They kill. Yeah, cobras. Yeah. That's what that. That's what that story is about. It's just mongoose things and, and weed. I am your substitute, Jeff Erica Warren and I am joined by two lovely co hosts today if you want to introduce yourselves. [00:01:36] Speaker B: Ella, do you want to go first? [00:01:39] Speaker C: I'm sorry, I was hitting a bong. One second. [00:01:43] Speaker A: Mongoose things. [00:01:45] Speaker C: Mongoose things. Just mongoose things. It's I, Ella Taylor. Hi. I don't do drugs. Hello. You know me from the Internet. What with the blue sky and the. The recently. Recently juiced and all that. [00:01:59] Speaker A: Hey. And then returning as a guest first. [00:02:05] Speaker B: And foremost and always. Oh, it's hampter. It's the ultimate Hampter. [00:02:17] Speaker C: We got YouTube flagged us for the Ultimate Warrior theme. I was so mad. [00:02:25] Speaker B: That's still so on brand too with both YouTube and the ultimate Warrior. [00:02:30] Speaker C: Yeah, they're like, hey now this is. Yeah, you owe money to Mr. Johnston. Thank you very much. This is. And I'm like no, I don't know. [00:02:37] Speaker B: True. [00:02:39] Speaker C: So yeah, from now on we could. We gotta use less seconds of your theme when we use your theme. [00:02:44] Speaker B: That's fine. I'm thinking about a rebrand since the Ultimate Warriors. [00:02:47] Speaker C: A shipback and dead at this point. Yeah, I was trying to think about that too. What? What? Aw, wrestler. Do we want to put hamsters essence into? [00:03:01] Speaker B: The trick is I can't know. Oh yeah. So should I know anything about them or just going blind like I did with the Ultimate Warrior? [00:03:08] Speaker C: I feel like. I feel like that. Go ahead. [00:03:11] Speaker A: Well, they, they'd have to see them right. To. To develop that kind of psychic connection. True. [00:03:18] Speaker B: Yeah, the connection. [00:03:19] Speaker A: Because. Because I. Have you seen Dalton Castle yet? Hampter? [00:03:27] Speaker B: No, I don't believe so. [00:03:29] Speaker C: He's mostly ring of honor. Oh, buddy, you would love Dalton Castle and the boys, but. [00:03:36] Speaker A: Yeah, I think, I think you'd enjoy Dalton Castle quite a bit. He, he usually, usually makes his entrance talking about what he's gonna, you know, his shopping list for the, the farmers market and. [00:03:48] Speaker C: Yeah, and he like, gets his fate. He like, he grabs the camera and looks right in the face. Oh, we're gonna go out there, we're gonna get all the watermelon stuff. That's watermelons. [00:03:57] Speaker A: I'm gonna buy some eggs. [00:04:01] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, exactly. [00:04:02] Speaker A: And some artisan bread. [00:04:05] Speaker B: Oh my God. [00:04:06] Speaker A: Let's go. [00:04:07] Speaker B: That sounds really good, though. [00:04:09] Speaker C: I know. [00:04:10] Speaker B: I bet there's a cha. Is there a chive cheese in there? [00:04:12] Speaker C: I hope so. [00:04:13] Speaker B: Oh, there could be spring onion cheese. [00:04:15] Speaker C: Well, one of the boys is lactose intolerant, so. [00:04:18] Speaker B: Oh, unfortunate. Yeah, that's right. [00:04:21] Speaker A: Oh yeah. [00:04:22] Speaker C: He has boys that are dressed like peacocks. Yes. And, and they, and they turn into steps for him to walk up to get into the ring. He is fantastic. [00:04:33] Speaker A: He is, he is everything and more. [00:04:36] Speaker B: Feels like a Don Callis coded. [00:04:40] Speaker A: He wishes. Don wishes. [00:04:42] Speaker C: No, Dom wishes he had that kind of swag. No. Castle is amazing. Yeah. I, I was that or I, I, I would love to see a possum and a wizard hat on the body of Brody King. [00:04:59] Speaker B: I, I, okay, so not. [00:05:03] Speaker C: Yeah, barking possum. Exactly. [00:05:07] Speaker B: No, that was Bishop Khan. Never mind. Brody. I don't know if was King in the, the battle. [00:05:13] Speaker C: Brodido Brodito was out tonight. [00:05:15] Speaker A: Yes, they, they were both in. Yeah, and we'll, yeah, we'll, we'll, we'll talk about that because that, oh God, that comes long. Because this was another. [00:05:25] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, sorry, that's like hour three. [00:05:28] Speaker A: This was, this was another three hour Dynalysian spectacular emanating from Manchester, England. Holiday bash. [00:05:39] Speaker C: Holiday. And we're back. [00:05:40] Speaker A: Holiday bash. Dinolagion. I refuse to call it, I refuse to call that anything other than Dinolision at this point. [00:05:47] Speaker C: No, that's like Brandon, Tony, you're listening. I know you're listening. Just take it. We're, we're better at this than you. It's fine. [00:05:55] Speaker A: It is. The fans know better than the billionaire. [00:05:58] Speaker C: So Erica, specifically? [00:06:01] Speaker A: I mean. Yes. [00:06:03] Speaker C: Do I hire? [00:06:04] Speaker A: Hire me. I'm beautiful. I'm a diversity hire too. Get those points. [00:06:13] Speaker C: I could start going to every job and just be like, hire me. I'm pretty. [00:06:19] Speaker B: Should be that simple. [00:06:20] Speaker C: Right? [00:06:21] Speaker A: Once I figure out how to do makeup, I'll be a killer. Anyway, it's look all right. Yesterday was a Long day. I'm tired. I literally just rolled out of bed 20 minutes ago. We're potting. [00:06:36] Speaker C: It's like freezing everywhere. [00:06:40] Speaker A: It's cold. As we're talking about holiday bash dilision and they don't waste time. They jump right into it. As the first match of the night goes on. Right away with the. It's a Continental Classic blue league match, Jon Moxley versus Rodrick Strong, which was a match I was very much looking forward to when they announced the tournament blocks, like what, three weeks ago now? [00:07:07] Speaker C: Yeah. This is, this is one of. This is one of those ones where it's just like I'm. I'm not always attracted to men, but when I am, it's these two and they're fighting each other and I'm just like, hi. What if the boys did kissing? [00:07:27] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. [00:07:29] Speaker C: The boys did kissing. The girls do the kissing. [00:07:33] Speaker A: I don't necessarily want them to kiss each other, John and Roddy, but like. [00:07:41] Speaker C: Don'T on my dream. [00:07:43] Speaker A: I, I can, I can, I can be malleable to this. Anyway, I joined in progress because I had trouble getting my Triller feed set up yesterday. [00:07:56] Speaker C: No way. [00:07:57] Speaker A: It finally did get set up. Yeah. And when it finally did get come up, it was in Spanish and I couldn't figure out why because the track was set to English. So I set the track to Spanish and it came out English. I was like, you know what? Sure. Well, we're just. I'm just going to chalk it up to aw. Audio issue. Even though I don't think it was. [00:08:17] Speaker B: Their fault, 2025 has been rough on all of us. [00:08:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:08:20] Speaker C: At this point I, I kind of want to just like throw on some Spanish commentary one of these days because like most of my. So folks don't know the chicken mine that I work in. I am like at any time the only English speaker in the whole kitchen. We make it work. You'd be amazing how, how much you can get across flailing wildly and making comedic noises. Me? No, they love me. [00:08:50] Speaker A: So. [00:08:50] Speaker C: But like I'm picking up more and more and I don't know what the word for rate is, but trabajo is work. I know that. Trabajo rate, let's go. It's a C2. Damn it. [00:09:06] Speaker B: This was a. An incredible fight. I like to call it the old man match. [00:09:11] Speaker A: Yes, there it kind of is. [00:09:13] Speaker B: Yeah, it very much felt like. And I'm using old in quotations because of course they're not. [00:09:19] Speaker C: They're middle aged. Yeah, they're. They're very dad. A They're there. This is. This is the dad match. This is a couple dads out there. Just dad up. [00:09:28] Speaker A: And they really are. Yeah, they're both dads each other. [00:09:32] Speaker C: Or like, literally. Yeah. [00:09:34] Speaker A: Yes. So hamper you to fill you in a little bit on the backstory of this is Jon Moxley basically murdered Roddy's best friend at the last pay per view. So Roderick's looking for revenge. I actually don't know what happened to Kyle O'Reilly. I know that they blamed it on John Moxley, but I think he just, like, got messed up in the match, which was a really good match. Like, yeah, they blame died. No, he didn't actually die. [00:10:03] Speaker C: Got injured. [00:10:03] Speaker B: Oh, my God. Oh, okay. [00:10:05] Speaker A: I, I always. I always talk in extremes on the show, if you haven't noticed. As we should never just like, ah, he got beat up. It's like, ah, no, he got murdered. He's dead now. [00:10:15] Speaker C: Got murdered until he died. Yeah, he murdered him until death. [00:10:18] Speaker B: You can see how I'm kind of a perfect person for this programming. [00:10:24] Speaker C: Sweet baby angel. Yeah. No. [00:10:29] Speaker A: So anyway, the first thing I actually took a note on was Mox doing his tope suicida thing with his elbow. And that's always cool because he always. [00:10:38] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:10:39] Speaker A: Goes a million miles an hour. [00:10:41] Speaker C: He always goes harder than you probably should at his age. Like. Yeah, but just the. Yeah, the suicida elbow is. Is saying it out loud. Hurts just thinking about it, like, and. [00:10:58] Speaker A: Like, I feel like it hurts. Describes this match because they just are laying into each other as hard as possible. I'm just win. Seeing as there is, you know, Roderick Strong has, like, the hardest chops I have ever seen. [00:11:15] Speaker C: It's kind of wild. [00:11:17] Speaker A: Yeah, it's gross. [00:11:18] Speaker C: I love that. That's why the conglomeration rule he tried to get across as no chops is because Roddy chopped his son so bad. [00:11:28] Speaker A: Oh, poor, poor chops, elbows, and back breakers. [00:11:32] Speaker C: The back breakers out of everywhere. Like, it really is like. I know it's like his thing, but, like, seriously. And he did some fun ones in this match, like trying to give him one kind of backbreaker on the steel steps, getting reversed out of it and then turning it into a different kind of backbreaker on the steel steps just pleased me. [00:11:59] Speaker B: Yeah, that was. Oh, I, I. Every time they kick out those stairs, I I tense because I know someone's gonna get smashed into them. And I never always freaks me out. [00:12:12] Speaker A: It always looks bad. [00:12:13] Speaker C: Oh, God. [00:12:14] Speaker A: I mean, it always looks great, but it also is, like, bad as in. [00:12:18] Speaker C: Oh, God, oh, fuck. Oh, Jesus. [00:12:20] Speaker B: Well, Moxley busts his. His elbow open on it, actually, because. Yeah, when the. The elbows are flying and they do quite a bit in this match. I noticed he had a cut on, like, his left elbow when he went to brace himself and when he got slammed. [00:12:40] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah. When he. When he did that, he got his arm underneath. I'm like, what the Are you doing, John? [00:12:46] Speaker C: Also, though, Jon Moxley will. Will bleed to a slight win. The man. The man wants to juice, like, at all times. He just. [00:13:00] Speaker B: Yeah, I get that impression from him. [00:13:03] Speaker A: Inside cradle, blade job. [00:13:06] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, exactly. Oh, he's busted open from a schoolboy. Yeah, yeah, it's nuts. [00:13:13] Speaker A: Hammerlock. Oh, he's just spurting everywhere. [00:13:16] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Oh, Jesus. Oh, God. Deep for that hammer lock. There was a. There was a stretch of, like, what. It was like a. I feel like he. It was a year there where the. The punditry uncle bully and the. And the kids were really spending just weeks going on and on about how Jon Moxley blades too much and. And, like, he doesn't have to bleed so hard every week. And, like, he really was. And then. Then it would get even worse because then he would. You. The cameras would catch him blading, you know, so you would, like, just over and over again in, like, bub bubble. Ray Dudley just, like, seething on the radio every day, just so mad. And, like, I'm pretty sure that John just bled more because they were so. It's like the. The bucks in the Super Kick party. [00:14:25] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:14:27] Speaker C: Oh, you're mad that I played too much? Hey, camera, come over here. Check this out. Like, yeah, that's. I'm. Yeah, that's basically. Man, he's. I literally. He's actually cut back. Believe it or he's cut. [00:14:40] Speaker B: Believe it or not. [00:14:42] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, you wouldn't believe it the last few months because he's been in some really violent matches. But, yeah, he has cut back. But, yeah, there. There's. So the reason why they went so hard on this and commentary sold it pretty well, I thought, was they both. If whichever guy loses this match in the tournament, they're out. Like, they can't make up the point differential. [00:15:07] Speaker C: Yeah, we're getting to the. We're getting to that point in the tournament where. Where we're starting to see, like, they're like, there's no way you're making this up. Like, you're done. Yeah, you're out. Which is exciting and sad at the same time. [00:15:22] Speaker A: My notes are just kind of all over the place. There was like, it wasn't, it was another, it was not a match of like hardcore spots, like, or a lot of spots. Like there was that, that stares back, break back breaker. [00:15:35] Speaker B: But really cut her at like five minutes. That was fucking incredible. [00:15:40] Speaker C: Yeah. He gets the diamond cutter out of nowhere, straight up, like. Yeah. [00:15:46] Speaker B: I was like, I was listening to commentary. Yeah. And I was like, oh, thanks for actually pointing out that like rolling out isn't like, is a tactic. But not all wrestlers use it and when they do it, it's a sign. [00:16:01] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. No, commentary was really on it today tonight for sure. [00:16:06] Speaker A: Yeah. This was, this was like a lot of like big boy, manly man punch you in the face wrestling and they all, they were just throwing bombs at each other. And then like you said, you get to the last five minutes where Roddy eats the, the, the cutter and the pile driver and the sleeper. [00:16:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:26] Speaker A: And then he finally is able to get in his, his finishing submission, which is the stronghold, which he didn't quite get it. As nasty as he gets it, like usually he like really sinks into this, like this Boston crab. Because his whole thing is he's the back breaker guy and it's to set up this move. He gets it in, but he doesn't quite get it all in. And Mox is able to escape. Max gets the paradigm shift, which is double armed ddt, but it's not his finisher because finisher is the Death Rider, which is a double arm DDT where you like go straight up in the air and come down on your head. [00:17:07] Speaker C: It's where, yeah, you like float it. Yeah, it's like an impaler. Yeah. I often say it's like the difference between tapping the A button and holding it down. Yeah, yeah. It's in video game parlance. It's like the, the super version. I love that he has that. [00:17:23] Speaker B: I think this is the first time I've seen it and it was just so sick. Like, it was just like, oh my God. [00:17:31] Speaker C: Yeah. No, no, There's a reason I named my cat after that. Like, I, I love Jon Moxley and I've really learned like, come to appreciate Roddy Strong over the last like, year or two. I, I, I did like, because again, we've said before, I just was not familiar, you know, like that meme. I'm sorry, I was not familiar with your game, you know. Yeah, but I'm sorry. You did a vertical suplex that you just turn into a double knee backbreaker. Like, Jesus. Like, okay, you go Roddy, like Good for you. That's terrifying. [00:18:13] Speaker A: Midway, he gives it the most Midwest emo name. The end of heartache. [00:18:18] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. The end of heart. And I'm like, jesus. That's the only problem I've realized that I have. The only problem I have with him and Kyle O'Reilly and the whole paradigm thing and Adam Cole and all that is that they're. They're just. [00:18:34] Speaker A: Fuck. [00:18:34] Speaker C: They're Scene Kid douchebags. And I just can't, man. Like, I'm just. I. Like. Some of it. Like, I'm. Some of it I really dug. I could. There's some screamo that I was super into, but, like, most of those people that I knew just sucked. Like, I was a punk kid and we kind of had to be at war. I didn't want to, but I was. It was. It was just how it was. Okay? This is how things were in. In Middle of Nowhere, Wisconsin. [00:19:11] Speaker B: There were factions every. [00:19:13] Speaker A: Their stable name really should have been the Scene Kid era, not the Undisputed era. The Scene Kid era. Yeah. [00:19:22] Speaker C: Or the Fallout Boys. You know, you're right. [00:19:26] Speaker B: That's. That's gimmick infringement, brother. [00:19:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:19:28] Speaker A: Yeah, unfortunately, Gimmick infringement, brother. [00:19:32] Speaker C: Okay, so, yes, Mops made a 1996 wrestling possum. That's so cool that we did that. [00:19:42] Speaker A: Samak stays alive in the tournament, and Roddy is mathematically eliminated, but he still has, I think, one or two more matches. [00:19:51] Speaker C: Yeah, so he just gets to go out there and some up. [00:19:55] Speaker B: Nice fun. [00:19:56] Speaker C: I'm not gonna win, but I can make it harder for you. [00:20:00] Speaker A: Yeah, he can do. He can do the spoiler. Yeah. I don't know any real sports references for that other than spoiler. So we get a little, tiny Eddie Kingston promo, and he talks about how he lost last week to Snow Joe and he tapped out, but he learned, and he always learns when he loses and he comes back stronger. [00:20:24] Speaker B: He says, wrestling is my everything. Like, I have nothing else other than this. And I'm just like, damn, Eddie, that's not healthy. [00:20:32] Speaker C: No, no. And the thing is, is that that's a shoot. [00:20:35] Speaker B: Okay? [00:20:36] Speaker C: Like, no. Like, that's why I always joke about, like, it's still real to him, damn it. Like, it's everything I could say was into Eddie. Eddie. It's just. It's real, you know? Like, it's just. It's every. It's his everything. And to that I say, good for him. It's probably literally kept him alive, having the time of his life. And I mean, like, what. What else could you possibly Want out of life. That's part of the reason I've decided that I love wrestling so much too, is I just really appreciate watching people live their best lives. And so many of these people are just living their best lives. I'm like, yeah, go, go. [00:21:15] Speaker B: You absolutely. [00:21:18] Speaker A: Eddie is. I think what I like about Eddie is. And I've kind of adopted a lot of this. His. His philosophy. His philosophy is like, I'm here. I don't necessarily know why I'm here, but I do this thing and I'm gonna make it your problem. And I think that's. That's just how I feel like I've gotta be right now. So. [00:21:41] Speaker B: You know, survival man. [00:21:43] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:21:44] Speaker C: I feel like he's. He's the. He's the. More like he. He's like the dark goth to. To the pastel goth of Willow Nightingale's Everything sucks. Smile anyway like. [00:21:59] Speaker A: Nothing matters Smile anyway. [00:22:01] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, Nothing matters Smile anyway and it's like. It's the same mentality with just slightly different painting, you know? Love it. [00:22:11] Speaker A: Fantastic. So Eddie learned from his loss and now he knows how to deal with some stuff and he's going to make it everybody's problem. So. [00:22:19] Speaker C: Yes. [00:22:20] Speaker A: If anybody wants to fight on collision, because there will be a regular collision on Saturday. [00:22:26] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:27] Speaker A: Good luck with that. [00:22:28] Speaker C: Which is weird that we got a dinolision plus a bonus collision. [00:22:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:22:34] Speaker C: And it's gonna be. It's gonna be like a morning collision because England. Yeah, well, you know, it's like the. It's like Elton John said, the second half of Wednesday night's all right for fighting. That's how that song goes, right? [00:22:55] Speaker A: 10Pm at night is all right for fighting. [00:22:59] Speaker C: Saturday brunch hour is all right for fight. They're paying me, right? We're still getting paid. [00:23:05] Speaker A: Eggs Benedict is all right to have during a brawl. I'm pretty sure that's what he said. [00:23:11] Speaker C: No, no. I want to see Darby Allen cough coffee drop onto like a buffet table. God damn it. [00:23:20] Speaker B: The all you can drink mimosas or flying everywhere. [00:23:25] Speaker A: That'd be nice. Actually, I could go for a mimosa. All right. They just go to the next match, which is a one million dollar prize bout as the Don Callis family members Konos Tesha Kazuchika Okada and Hechi Sero take on the newly reformed Elite, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks you love to see. This was a. This was a cool match. I got like, I'm. Yeah, they've done Elite reunions over and over and over again. Like the Last however many years aw has existed. And it gets me every time. [00:24:08] Speaker B: That's why they do it. [00:24:10] Speaker A: These dumb. I'm a dumb mark. What can I say? [00:24:14] Speaker B: Listen, join the club. It's fun. [00:24:17] Speaker A: This ed is fun. [00:24:19] Speaker B: I do have a quick question. What kind of spell caster is he? Chero? [00:24:31] Speaker A: He's an alchemist. [00:24:32] Speaker B: I thought so. [00:24:33] Speaker A: I don't know what that trend. Yeah, he said that's what he's. He's the mad alchemist. Hechicero. [00:24:39] Speaker B: Okay. [00:24:40] Speaker A: The mad alchemist of lucha libre. That's why he does his little. [00:24:43] Speaker C: He's a sorcerer. Yeah, it means sorcerer. [00:24:46] Speaker A: He pondered. He ponders his orb before he comes to the ring. [00:24:51] Speaker C: So much like. You have a wizard hat. [00:24:53] Speaker B: I know. [00:24:54] Speaker C: Oh, good. Oh, my God, no. Oh, there it is. We found it. I'm putting you on Hedgeicero instead of ultimate warrior. [00:25:07] Speaker B: I feel this idiot works too, because I can absolutely not actually pronounce the name, so of course I'm gonna go. Didn't make it. Empty Cero. [00:25:19] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Oh, I'm so excited to make this avatar for the graphics. [00:25:28] Speaker A: All right. [00:25:28] Speaker C: Anyways, Yosoy Hampter Sarah. [00:25:32] Speaker A: Yeah. Don Callis came out and does his special ring announcement for Takeshita and Hechicero. And so. Which means he's got a scream. Yo soy catchy saddle. [00:25:45] Speaker C: Which means. Oh, instead of ultimate hapter, I'm gonna do the. I'm gonna be your Don Callis buddy. It's good. [00:25:54] Speaker B: On it. Oh, excellent. I want to be one of the stables, the stable studs. [00:26:02] Speaker A: That's right. It's a stud stable. And then Okada gets his own entrance, as is. [00:26:08] Speaker C: Right. [00:26:09] Speaker A: And then. All right, so then the elite, the young bucks come out to their. Their YouTube web shows theme, the being the Elite song and. And every. And then Kenny comes out to his regular music and they get a big ass amount of pyro. And it's cool. And some people really wanted them, so they used to. They used to come out on the Indies to Wayward Son. [00:26:38] Speaker B: Oh, wow. [00:26:39] Speaker A: They weren't paying for Wayward Son for. [00:26:41] Speaker C: This, so they had it for a while. For. They had it for a good while, and it was. It was hot. That was when I started watching Aw. Is when they still had Wayward Son. I was like, oh, this is why the Elite rules. Okay, cool. Yeah, let's go. [00:26:58] Speaker A: I imagine it was something like along the lines of, we're near the end of the year. We don't have the budget for Wayward Son. Yeah, we gotta save something for the Pay per view. [00:27:08] Speaker C: We re. Upped Orange Cassidy's. Where is My Mind. So we. We can. [00:27:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:12] Speaker C: I was. [00:27:12] Speaker B: I was like, how much money do the Pixies get? [00:27:15] Speaker C: Well, I mean, probably not nearly enough. [00:27:18] Speaker B: Yeah, not. Not as much as they should. [00:27:20] Speaker C: And Charles gets more than he should get. Sorry. Don't give me. That's a different podcast. Anyways. [00:27:26] Speaker A: Boom. This was another one where I was like, I don't have a ton of notes, but like, it just starts with like the. Yeah, it. Like, so it starts with the elite kind of doing. Playing some of the hits. So you get like super kicks and running around and goofy. And then Hatchisero grabs a young buck. I can never tell him apart. He grabs a young buck and starts just him up. And I realized I could watch Chechi zero. Like up a young. The young bucks. Like all night. Like, that would be awesome. Give me that. [00:27:57] Speaker C: Yeah, no. [00:27:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:27:59] Speaker C: It's like a bear batting. Batting like a small rodent back and forth and just playing with it, you know, like, it's fantastic. [00:28:09] Speaker A: Kenny Omega gets tagged in and they talk about his diverticulitis still. [00:28:15] Speaker C: Oh, God damn it. [00:28:17] Speaker B: I was actually so. Oh, my God, where was I going? Never mind. I apologize. Like, what was I gonna talk about? [00:28:27] Speaker A: It's okay. [00:28:27] Speaker B: Oh, sorry. What I don't get with. I love the triple. Like, the triple T team actions. Like, I. You know how tag teams have their duo actions, but I've met. Not actually seen like brio action where like each like either the. The folk. There's a center wrestler that's the focus of all three attacks, or they go for all other three opponents. And I was. I was. I mean, granted where I come from, but I was blown away by every single one of them. I was like, this is sick. That Suicide Topa Suicides. Yeah. [00:29:10] Speaker C: Tope Suicida. Yes. We're gonna have to work. We're gonna have to work on your. We're gonna have to work on your glossary now that you're Hampton 0. [00:29:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah. I've got some. Some Bobby Heenan in my. In me. I can't. I gotta shake. [00:29:29] Speaker C: Anyways, we'll feed you more Mike today. [00:29:31] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:29:31] Speaker A: Yeah, I hadn't actually thought about that. Hampter. Hampter Hampton Camper. Coming from their background of 90s wrestling would not have seen. So like trios wrestling I think was bigger in Mexico and Japan around the 90s. But like it. It came over to the US scene in the. [00:29:54] Speaker C: It was also. It's territories. NWA days there was trios titles. [00:30:01] Speaker B: Oh okay. [00:30:02] Speaker C: In America. So like back in the territories days, there was trio championships depending on the territory and. But no, Mexico is where I think it is really, really big. And the tag rules in, in, in lucha are different. Like you don't have to actually tag. [00:30:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:21] Speaker C: If you just have to leave the ring and then someone else can come in. Oh, interesting. Yeah. So like if, if someone gets tossed out of the ring, then another person, the team just comes in and then he's a legal guy, so. Which I kind of like a whole lot. I think they should just. [00:30:40] Speaker A: It's the only, the only North American company I can think of that did it. Lucha style was chikara. And their whole thing was mostly tag and trios matches. [00:30:52] Speaker C: And that's probably why you get a lot of, of the trio, because a lot of these guys were in shikara. [00:31:01] Speaker A: Yeah. Like this, this style, like even this stuff, like this kind of style of trios matches what got pretty popular like in the last 20 years. [00:31:12] Speaker B: I can see why. [00:31:13] Speaker A: I know like the young Bucks over in. Because they were in. They were on the west coast and they kind of helped bring that type of, of wrestling there. Like they had their, their promotion, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. It wasn't their promotion. They were just in there. But like they, they were always. That company always did like all star tag matches and they would just be like 20 minute clusterfucks of cool shit happening non stop. Which is kind of what this was. [00:31:43] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh my God. Yes. [00:31:45] Speaker C: Bet you 20 bucks. Hampter. How do you think James Cornet feels about this? [00:31:51] Speaker B: The Mouth of the South. [00:31:56] Speaker C: Oh, no, that's Jimmy Hart. [00:31:57] Speaker A: Oh, God. [00:31:58] Speaker C: He probably doesn't like it either. [00:32:01] Speaker B: Okay, so I'm assuming Jim Cornett also doesn't like it. [00:32:04] Speaker C: Oh, no. That all, all the old heads hate the flippy. [00:32:08] Speaker A: Oh. [00:32:08] Speaker B: Oh. Oh, God. [00:32:09] Speaker C: Oh, I hate the flippy. And all the super kicks. [00:32:19] Speaker B: That's why the Bucks did this. [00:32:21] Speaker C: Yeah. This is the kind of. That they hate on. This is why they hate aews because they have this kind of fun. And I just. [00:32:31] Speaker B: What happens when you get old and irrelevant? [00:32:33] Speaker C: Yeah, basically. Yeah. [00:32:35] Speaker B: I'll say. [00:32:36] Speaker C: What? [00:32:36] Speaker B: I said. [00:32:37] Speaker C: I didn't say it. The hampter said it. [00:32:39] Speaker B: I'm just saying, I mean, Matt Jackson stays in the ring and holds off like all three opponents and does it with like superb panache and style and like just incredible moves. So like. [00:32:52] Speaker C: Yeah, that just said like, you may not like the style, but they can all wrestle. [00:32:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:32:57] Speaker C: You know, like you gotta, you gotta give it to them. They're all doing crazy And I don't know, like, there's so many spots we could talk about. Know how fast you want to get to the end of this, but this is the first time I've ever seen a spike. One winged angel. [00:33:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:33:14] Speaker C: Which was just disgusting. Jesus Christ. [00:33:21] Speaker B: I was like, well, yeah, we'll. [00:33:24] Speaker A: We'll get to that. Because. Yeah, we'll just. [00:33:26] Speaker C: Yeah. Anyways, sorry. [00:33:27] Speaker A: Anyways, just, like, I. I just want to run down, like, a few that I like. So, like. [00:33:33] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. List of spots. [00:33:35] Speaker A: Hampter was talking about the Trios moves. And like, the, The. The one that was, like, really a nice throwback was Kenny did his, like, you can't escape. And then Nick did a senton and rolled over. Like, he, he does the senton and he rolls over and he does a back breaker on somebody in the corner. And then the other buck comes out with the elbow drop it like, it's just. I've missed Babyface Bucks wrestling. It's been so long. It's been two years since, since they've been faces. [00:34:07] Speaker C: They've been on, They've been on the, the. The shitty, shitty executive producer drag for like. Yeah, like two years. I think we talked about this last week. Yeah. [00:34:22] Speaker A: So. No, because Jack Perry was a heel for the same amount of time, too. [00:34:26] Speaker C: Yeah, it's about two years. And they're like, no, we'll give. We gotta give the people what they want, which is fighting Okada in the dick again. We're doing last week. Yes. [00:34:38] Speaker B: That was so fun. [00:34:41] Speaker A: There was no dick. Nobody tried to bite any dicks this week. It was a little weird. [00:34:45] Speaker B: I know. It's really disappointing. [00:34:47] Speaker C: Yeah. What the. [00:34:48] Speaker A: You gotta save it. You can't. You can't. [00:34:50] Speaker B: You can't. [00:34:51] Speaker A: You can't burn out the territory by biting all the dicks. [00:34:55] Speaker B: You gotta pace it. [00:34:57] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, there, like, there was just so much cool stuff. Like, Hatchy Sero tries. He does his, his hammerlock spinning thing where he back break. So he did that once. He tried doing it again. And then the. Whichever buck he had countered it into a Canadian Destroyer somehow. [00:35:17] Speaker C: That was gross in the way he planted. Like, he slowly came all the way all over it just, like, stuck. [00:35:28] Speaker B: I have a question about the name of this move. [00:35:31] Speaker C: Oh, I could tell you lots of things. Would you believe the Canadian Destroyer was invented by a Puerto Rican man? [00:35:40] Speaker B: Oh, okay. I thought it had something to do with Crispinois. [00:35:44] Speaker C: No, no, Different Canadian. [00:35:49] Speaker A: You hear Canadian Destroyer and immediately go to Chris. Ben said, wow, that's embarrassing. [00:35:55] Speaker B: Listen, I, I. When I think Of Canada and Destroyers. I think of one man. [00:36:02] Speaker C: No, that's the Canadian Annihilator. Yeah, the Canadian family Annihilator. [00:36:07] Speaker A: Canadian Annihilator. Chris. Jesus Christ. [00:36:13] Speaker B: We got there. Not Erica crossing yourself. [00:36:19] Speaker C: Poor Pip in the editing bay. Just like three weeks. This is three weeks in a row y' all have made Ben jokes. Stop it. No, it's hamper. It's the hamper influence. We. [00:36:33] Speaker B: We. [00:36:33] Speaker C: We got. We got an injection of 1996 is what happened. [00:36:40] Speaker A: So when it's called the Canadian Destroyer, do you mean destroy your family to death with the dogs by the pool? [00:36:49] Speaker C: No, he said it. He said the dogs in the pool. I've been. I didn't say it this time. It wasn't me. So. So, no, it was invented by amazing Red Puerto Rican wrestler who's invented all. He's done all kinds of cool, but he invented the Canadian Destroyer. But I think it was made famous by a Canadian who I think now works for Major League. No. Maple. Maple Leaf Wrest. [00:37:25] Speaker A: Williams. [00:37:25] Speaker C: Yes. Yeah. Who was a Canadian guy who used it and then it became a Canadian Destroyer. That's why I realized it's like, oh, it's the Canadian Destroyers. And it's a can't. It destroys Canadians. [00:37:40] Speaker B: Particularly lethal against Canadians. [00:37:44] Speaker A: Well, because. Because Petey Williams was in the Team Canada stable, so everything in that was Canada themed. [00:37:52] Speaker C: Yes. [00:37:53] Speaker A: So he had a Destroyer, but it was the Canadian Destroyer. [00:37:56] Speaker B: Oh, okay. [00:38:00] Speaker C: Yes, exactly. [00:38:02] Speaker A: So we spent so much time talking about Canadian Destroyers that I forgot to almost. I almost forgot to mention that this match has a Kenny Omega Okada face off. [00:38:15] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh, yeah, I do. [00:38:19] Speaker A: So Hampter, if you are. Are you. Are you familiar with the lore of these two at all, or. [00:38:24] Speaker B: Okay, so I picked up vague pieces because Don Callis said that he's like, Okada hates them. He only joined on with them to like, get where he could or use them for whatever he could get. But I also. Yeah, so that's literally all I know. [00:38:45] Speaker A: So, like, okay, Trust on callous. Okada and Omega basically had a trio of probably some of the greatest matches of all time in Japan. [00:38:58] Speaker C: Like, it's argued amongst people, like, other wrestlers. Like, like I remember hearing what. What stone cold, good old Steve Austin that their rattlesnake, you know, from the 96 times. [00:39:12] Speaker B: I know. I know who. [00:39:16] Speaker C: Yeah, I understand that reference. So he was talking on his show where he's like, well, I got. I like, even I had to, like, check it out because, like, we all read the dirt sheets, you know, even though we don't talk want to say we do. And like Meltzer's out here giving this like, like, like seven stars or whatever. Like, however, too many stars. [00:39:43] Speaker A: Like he added six and then I think the second one got seven. [00:39:48] Speaker C: And people are like, you can't do that. And he's like, I invented it. I can do whatever the I want. And like, and like first O Cole was like, was, you know, like, well, what's going. Meltzer's like lost his. But then like other workers are calling him like, you gotta check out this, this Omega Okada. Like really, like, no, dude, check it out. Like. And it's like they, they went, what, what. What was. They had the. They had an iron man, didn't they? Or did they just. [00:40:17] Speaker A: They had a, they had a 60 minute draw. Okada won in 55 minutes. And then they had a no time limit match that Omega won. I think if I'm remembering. [00:40:31] Speaker C: 20 minutes or something like that. [00:40:33] Speaker A: Yeah, they just, they just, and just. [00:40:38] Speaker C: Everything, just everything they had on each other and, and yeah, and it's, it's heralded by most people is like, this is like the best modern wrestling has given us like so far. So the fact that we get them on, on, on a Wednesday night facing off on, on TV is. [00:40:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:40:59] Speaker C: Thank you. Thank you, Tony Khan and your dad's money. Thank you. [00:41:04] Speaker B: Love you, Tony Khan. [00:41:08] Speaker A: So that happened. [00:41:10] Speaker C: So that happened. [00:41:12] Speaker A: That happened. So that just happened. They do like a bunch of signature moves on everybody and everybody's down. [00:41:23] Speaker C: And then everyone gets their in. [00:41:25] Speaker A: Yeah, everybody gets their in. And then my husband Takeshita gets up and he starts trying to take control and he just. They're. They're gonna do like a, a triple move on one of the Bucks and Okada is just like, actually, no, I'm gonna rainmaker this guy. And they get all pissy with each other. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. This allows them to gang up on Hechicero and that's where we get like a triple super kick. Kenny gets his big flying V trigger knee. And then the young Bucks assisted one winged angel of death. And that's it. [00:42:09] Speaker B: What a, what an ending it was. [00:42:12] Speaker A: It was a clusterfuck of a match, but it was very fun. [00:42:16] Speaker C: Was that. Is that baby's first elite match? [00:42:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:42:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Damn. [00:42:22] Speaker C: Against you. Baby's first elite match was versus Kazucho Okada. Hero and Tesha Hampter. I'm so happy for you. [00:42:44] Speaker B: We, we resurfaced after this match and my friend was like, I can't believe it. It's been an. It's been an hour. The, the, the, these matches were just that fire. [00:42:56] Speaker A: Oh, God. [00:42:56] Speaker C: We're only an hour in. Jesus. [00:42:58] Speaker A: Yeah. That, that tag match, I didn't even realize had like two commercial breaks in it. [00:43:04] Speaker B: It did. Yeah. [00:43:05] Speaker A: It's like, but it did not feel like a long match. I was, I was. [00:43:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:43:10] Speaker A: All right, so post match, Tony Schiavone is screaming, give those men their money. Because this is about money. [00:43:18] Speaker B: Not the first nor the last time. [00:43:20] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:43:21] Speaker A: Don Callis is stealing the money and. [00:43:25] Speaker C: Yes, of course he is. [00:43:27] Speaker A: His guys attack. But Takeshita and Okada are still. There's so much tension there, and they're in each other's faces. But then they, like, they, they hit their finishers on the bucks and then they're like gonna, like, they, they take out the bucks and then they're like, right back to like, we're gonna. I hate you, dude. And Don Cass is on the ringside, like, begging them, please, please don't fight. [00:43:56] Speaker C: You're making us look so bad right now. Like, in front of the English. Stop it. [00:44:03] Speaker B: Not in front of the company. [00:44:05] Speaker A: The rest of the Commonwealth is here. [00:44:10] Speaker B: I want to say the Brits can certainly chance. The one thing I will take away from this entire programming is that the Brits, the Brits do a good chance. [00:44:18] Speaker C: Oh, they got, they got the foot, the football chance. And then they take that and they make into wrestling stuff. And the combo is just. Hell, yeah. When you find a way to sing the name Hechicero. [00:44:38] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. [00:44:42] Speaker C: All right. [00:44:42] Speaker A: Yeah, there's a couple guys, I think. [00:44:45] Speaker C: Yeah, it was the Seven Nation Army. They do like, you know, it was like a rocket. [00:44:51] Speaker A: Oh, Hatches. [00:44:52] Speaker C: It didn't catch us. It didn't catch on. But I heard a couple guys trying. It was like, you know what? Yeah. Yes. No, the English know how to, to wrestling fan. This is true. [00:45:08] Speaker B: It's true. [00:45:09] Speaker C: Anyway, so anyways, hour two of this masterpiece. [00:45:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:45:14] Speaker A: Yes. Kenny. Kenny Omega grabs a broom and sweeps out the trash. And they get their money. [00:45:21] Speaker C: He's the cleaner. [00:45:22] Speaker A: Yeah, he is the cleaner. All right. And then. All right, strap in. World's End contract signing. [00:45:32] Speaker B: This was intense. [00:45:34] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, it was for a while. It was very intense. Everybody gets a cool entrance. So you have Samoa Joe with Ops Swerve comes out with Prince Nana. You have Hangman with like, like, Hangman and Swerve still have their matching hymns and hymns chains. Adorable. Yeah, it's adorable. I, I, it's adorable. God, I'm tired. [00:46:01] Speaker B: You okay? [00:46:03] Speaker A: I didn't mean to say that's adorable. [00:46:08] Speaker B: Oh, inshallah. [00:46:09] Speaker A: Insh. Voice kissing. [00:46:11] Speaker C: Yeah. Boys kissing. Insh. We're not. We shouldn't say that. We're so. [00:46:19] Speaker A: No, I'm too late. [00:46:21] Speaker C: I'm not Muslim. I'm. Yeah, no, yeah. I'm a heathen. I'm. [00:46:26] Speaker B: This is just. God wills it. [00:46:28] Speaker A: You know, I'm looking at myself in the mirror and saying, you can't be saying that, white baby. Anyway, boys kissing. There was not enough boys kissing in this segment. [00:46:43] Speaker C: No. [00:46:44] Speaker A: Minus 5 yowie points. Terrible segment. Moving on. No, I guess we still got to talk about it. [00:46:52] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. [00:46:54] Speaker A: Joe has his little promo and he brought back up so nobody will try and jump him, and he'll see both those guys at World's End and walk out the champion. And he's confident. Swerve Said Swerve. All right, Swerve. It's like, I don't give a About you. We're gonna talk about me and Hangman because that's all anybody gives a about here. Yeah, it's like, there's a weird respect. There's a weird respect between me and Hangman, who reminds Joe that last last year they had a contract signing before Joe and Swerve wrestled for the title. And Swerve ended up bloody and signed the contract in his own blood, and he still won the title, but now he's got a God's body that. And you can't kill a God with bullets, so he's gonna win. That was kind of cool. [00:47:47] Speaker B: That was a sick line. [00:47:49] Speaker A: You can't kill a guy. I mean, you could kill a God with bullets. It's just. You just need the right ones. [00:47:53] Speaker B: Yeah, that's. Yeah, I was. I didn't want to point it out. [00:47:57] Speaker C: But. [00:47:59] Speaker A: Hangman, Paige has to say now, too, because everybody gets to talk. Um, and then he reminds them that a few months ago, they were all on the same side and they were fighting against the Death Riders. And when they figured out how to work together, it was Hangman who got the job done. And he knew he was going to give Joe and Swerve title shots, but Joe lost and turned to the ops when he couldn't get the job done. And now he's, like, more annoying than Jon Moxley, and he name drops like, all the people he wanted to defend against but didn't. Yeah, so, like, he wanted to defend against Darby, he wanted against. Defend against Will Ospreay. And that got, like, a gigantic reaction because they miss Osprey really badly over there. [00:48:46] Speaker C: I don't really. Yeah, I Guess they're English. Yeah, that makes sense. There's so many good wrestlers. Like, I. I just. I get it. Y' all love them. He's your goat. Whatever. But, like, there's so. We got so much. Speaking of, there's a return. [00:49:04] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. Well, wait, there's. Wait, there's some more gay stuff. [00:49:09] Speaker C: No, some more gay stuff. [00:49:11] Speaker A: Yeah, he said, say, like, he tells Swerve that, like, he would have defended against Swerve, and if he lost Swerve, he would have handed him the title himself. And then Joe has messed up by making enemy of both of them. And he signs there. They've all signed the contract at this point. And then the lights go out and the Burberry scarf appears on the screen. We see the return of Maxwell Jacob Freeman, mjf. [00:49:40] Speaker C: It's my scumbag. [00:49:46] Speaker B: This is vaguely funny because I have. And I know this would tilt him out. I don't know who this clown is. [00:50:02] Speaker A: The. [00:50:02] Speaker B: The. The. The plaid drops, and I'm like, maybe it's just some local guy because there's a huge pop, you know, I'm sorry. [00:50:12] Speaker C: You called it plaid. Holy. Oh, a local. No, no. [00:50:19] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, yeah. No, he hates me. He hates me because at one point. [00:50:22] Speaker C: Let this critter in here. [00:50:24] Speaker B: Yeah, he's like, the biggest homegrown star of the aew. And I'm like, I've never heard of him. [00:50:33] Speaker A: Oh, wow. [00:50:38] Speaker C: I feel okay. Oh, my God, I'm so sorry, neighbors. I laughed so hard. [00:50:43] Speaker B: He'll be walking outside, and I'm gonna get, like, a mjf, like, super kick to the jaw just out of nowhere. [00:50:55] Speaker C: Oh, my God. Yeah, he's. He's gonna, like, take you over to, like, a park bench and use it to give you a heat seeker. And, like, so you have. This is. Oh, man. I don't know what that is. [00:51:09] Speaker A: All right. [00:51:09] Speaker C: Oh, I hope you're around to find out. [00:51:12] Speaker B: All right, so there's any way that matters. Okay. [00:51:15] Speaker A: There's. There's. There's quite a bit of backstory for mjf, but essentially, at their big pay per view of the year, he won a gauntlet match to earn a contract that if he can, he can sign it and he can make a title match for himself whenever he wants. He tried doing a bunch of with it, and he failed, but he still kept the contract due to said. And so he's been. He's been gone for, like, three months now. He was filming some movie or some. I don't know what he was doing. Yeah, I don't want. I. Like, he was in Happy. He was in Happy Gilmore, too. And I haven't seen that because he's. [00:51:57] Speaker C: One of Happy Gilmore's kids. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Well, yeah, I want some of that. That sounds awesome, but no, I have to. I begrudgingly have to defend it. It's very good because it doesn't take itself seriously. It's like, you're it. Basically, that movie opens up and says, are you here for the slop, piggies? Well, we got you some slop. And MJF's here, too. And he's like, hey, pores, come here. I'm playing a poor. I'm like, you. And like, yeah, it's beautiful. They know what they're doing. It's garbage. If you're there for that, it's perfect. And it's just. It was funny and MJF did a good job and Bad Bunny was hilarious. [00:52:46] Speaker B: Oh, I love that. [00:52:47] Speaker A: I. I don't believe you at all. [00:52:49] Speaker C: MJF is the embodiment of the 70, the old 79 stank, as we call it. He is an old school cool heel, and people hate, like. Like, first shoot. People hate him for it because he's just an obnoxious bastard. But that's the thing. He's an obnoxious bastard. That's, like, the point. Yeah. And he's really. And on top of that, he wrestles real good. Like, so, like, he kind of can't. Was it Homunculus Dick? Bsky Dot social? Black Saber Jr. Wrestle Sky. I made a point to, like, I got. Trying to make a point to call you out because, like, y' all have good points and it. I remember them, and I'm like, we need to talk about this. But Black Saber Jr. Had a whole thread here about this because people reacted because he's a. He's an edgy douchebag and he's kind of a hack. But, like, that's. That's the character. That's the 79 stank. He's like. Like, Ric Flair was also an edgy douchebag who was kind of a hack. Wait, wait. As far as the promos go. But then he gets in the ring and he's like, holy. You know, it's like, well, we can't, you know, like, you can't hate him that much because look what he just did. So, like that. That's why he's so good. I love him. I love him. And they're also mad because he made the diddy joke that didn't make sense. And, and it's probably just a little bit of racism. [00:54:24] Speaker B: Yeah. Microaggression. Wrote that down in my notes. [00:54:29] Speaker A: Probably. [00:54:30] Speaker C: If anything, he wants people to think it is because they will get. He like, this is what I'm talking about. He's playing all angles. It's ridiculous. But I don't know. He's a good wrestler. I missed him. I'm happy he's back. I'm like, I love mjf. I said it. Okay, I'm gonna shut up because I, I outbursted. [00:54:50] Speaker A: So, so, all right, well, no, I, I, I'll, I'll have a rebuttal for that. But like, yes, he, so essentially he, he, he has his contract, he signs it. And now the triple threat at the pay per view is now a four way. And then he gets a mic and he cuts a promo on each of the guys individually. And basically it's just like, here's why I hate you. You suck. I'm going to kill you. He's, he's, he's, he's mad at Joe because Joe beat him for the title two years ago. Three years ago now, first time Joe got the title. [00:55:26] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. [00:55:27] Speaker A: And then, and Joe beating him is what made the people turn on him. So he's going to win the belt back. He, he call swerve, calls him Gluteus Maximus and that was not great. And so then MJF goes off on him and something about twerking for top dollar in WWE and. [00:55:49] Speaker B: Yeah, Shane. [00:55:50] Speaker A: Yep, Shane. Shane Strickland. And you know, Max held the belt longer than he did, even though he's more popular and it's Max's house and the rents do. And she, he like specifically hates Hangman because I, I don't know why. Where's my, yeah, why does he. I'm trying to read my notes. He's like, he's, I know he's doing it to piss off Hangman. [00:56:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:13] Speaker A: Excuse me. [00:56:14] Speaker B: Because that's just how to humiliate him, to beat him and the two other guys that he hate. [00:56:19] Speaker A: Yes, yes. He's going to take the title from his two rivals and he's going to do like the, the big piece of resistance of it all is that, you know, call him Michael Corleone because in one night he's going to handle all of his business. And then he says it's catchphrase and bails. So here's my thought on this. This was too long a promo and it was like both the best and worst of Max. So I personally really really like MJF as a wrestler and as a talker, I get the Gimmick. I understand 79 stink perfectly well. I think he's like, he. When I say he goes too far, he. What's the word? Not that like, you know, like. Yes. He'll say whatever the you want. Make a dumb Diddy joke. Who gives a. You're supposed to get booed anyway. It's the. He, he, he, he. The show was like moving along really nice and then it ground to a halt so he could do his fires club. And sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And this mostly worked. But it's, it's also just like, God, like, shut the up, man. Like, he's like, like my, my point being he's a great talker, but he's not as clever as he thinks he is sometimes. [00:57:47] Speaker C: Oh, most of the time. And he overstays his welcome very quickly. I just think it works like, that's like, that's the thing is like I agree with every criticism. I just think it works for, for what he's doing. Like, I just think it works. [00:58:02] Speaker A: Well, it works and obviously it works because he's on tv. But then it's also just like, I mean, I also don't really actually know like, you know, Blue sky as a, as a platform with wrestling fans has its own taste and all that. [00:58:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:58:16] Speaker A: Losing the Blue sky fan base is not necessarily like everybody changing the channel when Max comes on is not necessarily the end of the world. And I also don't. I also know for a fact that lots of people who are like, I'm changing the channel when this wrestler is on are probably not doing so. I know because usually I, I, yeah, like I would end up being like, I'm not watching a Jericho segment. And then I'll watch a Jericho segment. Although a lot of the times it would just go up and take like a really long. [00:58:49] Speaker C: That one. [00:58:51] Speaker A: It's, it's, it's like I, I don't need like a 25 minute MJF promo every single night. I don't like them. [00:58:59] Speaker C: No, that's a lot. [00:59:01] Speaker B: I mean, I think cup and then coupling it with the three. The, the three promos beforehand which were all like fine. But that just then stretched it out into time that wasn't to like spent wrestling, which everybody wants to see. [00:59:17] Speaker A: Right. [00:59:18] Speaker B: I mean I like Hook was leaning against Hook and Hobbs was lean. Were leaning against the ropes. At some point though, I, I did find it really funny when like MJ MJF got a dig in on his like fake tattoo in 20 in 2007. And Joe was like, yeah, yeah, I love it. Yeah, MJF gets a couple of good hits in or burns on like various people. And I love catching Joe's expression. Like, yeah, no, that's fair. That's. That's real. That's real take. [00:59:49] Speaker C: Yeah, no, no, Joe. Joe was really, really solid at that. But I've seen people too just complain about how we got too much like contract signings and shit like that and how it's kind of fatty and I'm like, okay, yeah, no, I get that. But like they had to bring him back at some point. This was a good way to do it. Overall, I thought the segment worked super well. I enjoyed the shit out. [01:00:12] Speaker A: I, I don't mind contracts are mad. Like even Japanese companies do contract signings. Like it's. It's the thing that happens. It's fine. Like it over like overall if you, you take like five minutes off of this segment, it's probably fine. But like the thing that I felt after it was like it felt like it ground the show to a halt and it come like you notice it with the crowd as well. It's like they are much quieter for the rest of the show after this segment. [01:00:44] Speaker C: Yeah, they get it back at a certain point. But like I mean we'll get. I'm not sure what the next match is. [01:00:50] Speaker B: The. The. It's the eight way or it's the eight. Eight women's match. [01:00:56] Speaker C: Oh yeah, no, yeah, let's. [01:01:01] Speaker A: Let's segue around. Sorry. [01:01:03] Speaker C: Yeah, good segue. Yeah. Look. I say look. [01:01:05] Speaker A: I did a segue to Megan Bane, Marina Shafir, Athena and Mercedes Monet versus the Babes of Wrath, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron and the timeless love bombs of Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa. I absolutely loved the love bombs and babes making their entrance and they do the little. Even Tony Storm did the little kick on the. The music drop for Willow's theme and I was like, that's adorable. I couldn't see if Mina did it too. I'm sure she did. [01:01:37] Speaker B: Yeah. I, I love. First of all, I'm. I mean coming from 96, I love tag team matches that aren't fright with like who's going to betray who. Like this is. It's quite nice. Like even with Babes of Wrath, they were like, yeah, we just kind of got put together and I'm really glad I met her. And I was just like this is so good. I love these. I love these women so much. It's just nice. And then, like, because they were literally last week in the tag team, the women's tag team match where the babes won and the timeless love bombs were, like, super gracious. And then to see them working together for this match was really nice. [01:02:20] Speaker C: Right. Wrestling can be wholesome in. In 2025, it's okay. And gay need and, you know, it's being wholesome and gay can be a lot of fun when you don't have undertaker in your ear calling you a. I'm just saying agree if you're not. [01:02:40] Speaker A: Going to get hate crimed. It can be fun to be gay. [01:02:44] Speaker B: Real. [01:02:46] Speaker A: Yeah. So it opens. It opens with the faces kind of running wild a little bit and, like, everybody gets some offense and they're like continuing this thing of trying to show off that Harley's gotten better as a wrestler as she kind of goes toe to toe with Athena for a little bit. Yeah. So, like, like Athena's. Athena has, like, really heavy elbows. She threw a really heavy elbow at Harley like a year ago that probably would have leveled her, but Harley came right back and kept fighting with her, so that was cool. But then Marina Shafir comes in. Marina Shafir is the barefoot lady. And this was like the coolest thing I think I've seen Marina do in a while where Harley tries to do like the Cazadora rollup tour. And Marina just stops her and just kind of judo throws her upside down on her ass. And it's like, wow. She's like, you. You leg tripped her from nothing. [01:03:52] Speaker B: Shafira is intense. [01:03:54] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:03:55] Speaker A: Yes. Yes, she is. [01:03:58] Speaker C: We've been talking a lot lately about how much Harley has improved because she has. [01:04:03] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:04:04] Speaker C: But Marina has gotten way better, too. [01:04:08] Speaker B: Good. [01:04:08] Speaker C: And. And like, has a lot of. She also. This is the second time I've seen her hit that. I'm just gonna call it the 619 driver, where she does like the 619 and catches him in a head scissors and then drives her head onto the apron. And yeah. This is the second time that she. I've caught her doing it where it, like, really, really worked. Because there was a while there where she had tried. It's like, oh, that'd be really cool if it work. And now it's like working. So, like, I don't know because I. I remember back in the day she was good, but she was. It was just like. Like you could see potential, but there wasn't much there. And then she went away for a while and came back and it's like, no, no, you're, you're, you rule. [01:04:51] Speaker A: Yeah, she's a very good example. She's a, she's. I, I guess you could call her like another aw, dark success story like Harley was. She started on there and I know she did some stuff on. She's been doing stuff on the Indies, but she hasn't been on tv. Hadn't been on TV as much until the Death Riders happened. And yeah, she looks, she looks great. And like, even if she's like still a little rough around the edges, just being Jon Moxley's heater has elevated her status in the minds of the fans so much that she just has that aura about her now. [01:05:31] Speaker C: And it does a lot for her. It has done a lot. [01:05:35] Speaker A: It's honestly, it's kind of a really basic tag match. They. They get the heat on Harley during the commercial, but then she makes a hot tag to Toni Storm and she clears house. She kills. I forget who she killed. She absolutely murdered somebody with a hip attack. [01:05:55] Speaker B: Oh, this was Shafir. [01:05:58] Speaker C: It was Marina right after she did the 619 driver. Yeah, she like, she sat out out of it and didn't and was like celebrating, like, yeah, I just murdered the out of you. And then boom. [01:06:10] Speaker A: Ass. [01:06:11] Speaker B: I love how they call it a hip attack. It's a butt. Like, yeah, it. [01:06:15] Speaker C: But it's a bupa. [01:06:16] Speaker B: She pulls up. She pulls up her thing and throws her butt at her. Sorry. [01:06:21] Speaker A: The thing you have to understand about that hip attack is she hits it so well and makes it look so hard that like years ago when she started doing it in aew, when she came to AEW and she was doing it, people were like, oh, she's an unsafe worker. She's gonna really hurt somebody with her ass. And it's like because like girls like in matches, when she's doing the women would just like, they would flip their heads back like as hard as possible to make it look like their necks are being snapped. And like she made it look so like it's a hip attack. Like you said, she's running under with her ass and it's a killer move. [01:06:59] Speaker C: But also her, her ass. I don't know if you all seen this. It looks soft. It looks like it wouldn't hurt that hard. [01:07:08] Speaker B: It is. It's pretty great actually. [01:07:11] Speaker C: Yeah. I mean, I suppose if you get hit with a pillow real fast. Still hurts. Ask me how I know, but, but yeah, no, like, again, by all means. She could murder me with her. Her butt attack and I'd be fine. That's okay. [01:07:29] Speaker A: You can get concussed by a butt. [01:07:31] Speaker C: But that's kind of how I want to go. I mean that. Yeah, write that down. [01:07:37] Speaker A: All right. Relax. Take it easy. Let's. Let's all relax. Take a breath. [01:07:46] Speaker B: Break into your corners. [01:07:48] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:07:51] Speaker A: You know. [01:07:52] Speaker C: All right, you're gonna have to cut me. I don't even know what that means in this situation. [01:07:59] Speaker A: I don't know what that means. What happens. Willow. Willow and Megan Bane are facing off. And that was kind of cool because the crowd popped for that because I don't think we've seen them wrestle each other. Two large, powerful women going at it. [01:08:14] Speaker B: That doctor bomb was sick. [01:08:18] Speaker A: It is sick. The babe with the power bomb. That's what she calls it. [01:08:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:08:23] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [01:08:25] Speaker C: I love it. That's where the babe of babes of wrath comes from. Yes, it should. [01:08:30] Speaker A: And Megan with the Corona. [01:08:34] Speaker B: Sorry. [01:08:38] Speaker A: That was cool as hell. [01:08:41] Speaker C: That was one of the mental notes I took. I was like, that was a big. That was a big old rana. [01:08:47] Speaker A: That was. That was not a hurricane. That was a Frankensteiner. [01:08:51] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly. There's one of those in a later match where. [01:08:58] Speaker A: Where. [01:08:59] Speaker C: Yeah, we'll get to it. But there's a poison run of a certain flavor where I was just. Oh, my God. [01:09:04] Speaker B: I was loving it. I was just like these. I love. I love that move so much. [01:09:09] Speaker C: Anyway. Yeah, we're getting ahead of ourselves. [01:09:13] Speaker A: All right. So. All right. Let's. Let's just speed through it because, like, it just breaks down. There's like people are hitting finishers everywhere. Willow. Yes. Everybody's getting the in. Mercedes at some point is legal and gets pounced by Willow and still good. I love. I love how whatever. I love just when people get pounced by Willow, they just explode off her now. And it's awesome. [01:09:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:09:40] Speaker A: So, yeah, she. She's pounced to and she's going to finish her off. But Athena flies in and hits her top rope stunner. But she calls the O face and Mercedes turns that into a pin, and she's got the win. [01:09:58] Speaker B: That was really upsetting. I was like. [01:10:01] Speaker A: It was very upsetting. [01:10:02] Speaker B: Is this because it quickly turned. Nightingale was holding her own. [01:10:07] Speaker C: And then sometimes the bad ladies gotta win, you know, they. The faces have been getting a lot of W's lately. You got. You gotta. Gotta feed Megan B. A win every once in a while. It's not like she's a giant, scary lorge woman. [01:10:24] Speaker A: She's not that tall. I think I'm as tall as her, so. Which makes me think she's not that tall. [01:10:31] Speaker C: Everyone seems taller to me when you put them in a ring. This is a thing. Also. Also it's the headdress. Makes me think she's super tall. That adds a couple. It's like all of a sudden you're. You're Kevin Nash. You know, with the. [01:10:52] Speaker A: Cool little match. Not a whole lot. There'll be some fallout for it later in the show. Which is good because it's a three hour show and this pod feel. Feels like it. C2 Gold League match Pac versus Kyle Fletcher. [01:11:06] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:11:07] Speaker A: Bastard talking head Renee Pette informs us that Fletcher has never beaten Pac anywhere in his career. Which I did not realize. [01:11:19] Speaker C: Fascinating. [01:11:20] Speaker A: I didn't realize I had enough matches to like have that ever be a. It's a note to talk about. [01:11:29] Speaker C: And we got another home. Home turf island boy in. In the bastard puck. So the. The crowd every single time during this match that Kyle Fletcher got any offense whatsoever that you could hear a pin drop like it was wild. I was like, what happened to the crowd? And then he would kick out. [01:11:52] Speaker B: Oh. [01:11:53] Speaker C: I was like, oh, okay. That. That's it. I forgot. New barrier Palm Pine or wherever the. He's from like. Yeah, Newcastle. [01:12:01] Speaker A: Newcastle. [01:12:02] Speaker B: Yeah. He's from a newscastle. [01:12:04] Speaker A: Yeah, Newcastle back there in Manchester. But they still like the bastard Neville. [01:12:09] Speaker C: Yeah. How have I never done that in my brain before? That's terrible. [01:12:16] Speaker A: Do you remember. Do you remember what his first name was before he had his first name taken away? It was Adrien Neville. [01:12:21] Speaker C: No, it was just. I was a. It was Adrien Neville. I thought first name that was just made him Neville. [01:12:29] Speaker A: Yeah, that was from the triple Paul name generator. Adrian Neville. [01:12:33] Speaker C: Yeah. Oh yeah. Y is like a clean shaven young man who. Who was like super tiny and like just. Oh my God. That his. His. His broken arrow is just. Oh my God. What were they called? What was it? [01:12:49] Speaker A: The Black Arrow and Black Arrow. Yeah. [01:12:53] Speaker C: And I think it was called Broken Arrow of the Fed. But like Jesus Christ. [01:12:58] Speaker A: I think it was still Black Arrow when he was a face. It was the Red Arrow. And then he became. [01:13:04] Speaker C: Oh yep, daddy. [01:13:06] Speaker A: And it was the Black Arrow because. [01:13:08] Speaker C: That'S what it was. His red Arrow because he's evil. He's a bastard, if you will. [01:13:13] Speaker A: He's the bastard. Yeah. This was. This was. This was a cool match. They. They worked like a slower pace than Fletcher's other matches in the tournament so far. But it was not like any. It wasn't bad because of it. They just worked. They're just like we gotta take it easy this week. [01:13:35] Speaker C: Yeah. Like, Jesus, if you saw the speedball. [01:13:38] Speaker A: Match, it's just like slowed down a little bit. [01:13:42] Speaker B: Yeah. Because who he went up against Speedball and then who was he against? The. Oh, oh, Okada. Yeah. [01:13:54] Speaker C: Oh my God. The way we talked about this. Oh yeah. [01:13:58] Speaker A: He like, he wrestled Okada and then Kevin Knight and then Speedball. They were all just like incredible matches. [01:14:06] Speaker B: Yes. Oh, I forgot Kevin Knight, which is a shame because that match was sick. [01:14:11] Speaker C: Yeah. I guess I'm saying off Mike is like, just stop, Stop. Having match of the year contenders and this one was like I was saying off Mike to Hampter. This one wasn't like a match of the year contender level. Good for me. But it's like one of the best matches I've seen. Out of pocket a hot minute and like Fletcher is just. God damn. [01:14:33] Speaker A: Fletcher's on another level right now. [01:14:36] Speaker B: Oh, absolutely. [01:14:37] Speaker C: He's on one. He's really on a run here. Just. [01:14:41] Speaker A: Wow. [01:14:41] Speaker B: Speaking of the Harkarana, Pac had one, an incredible one against Fletcher. Just absolutely sick. [01:14:50] Speaker C: Well, it was a tie. [01:14:52] Speaker A: He's. [01:14:52] Speaker C: He was a top rope reverse hurricane rod. It's like a top rope poison rod and he just spiked him. Oh my God. It was terrifying. It was. Everybody like from commentary to everyone in the crowd was just like, did y' all just see that? Like, what the hell? I don't think you should do that. I don't think you're allowed to do that. [01:15:17] Speaker A: I think part of this match that was kind of weird was both these guys are heels. Yeah. But Fletcher is working a little baby face. But Pac is also the local hero, so he's also working baby face. So it's, it's very. [01:15:32] Speaker C: The energy is just all over the place. Yeah. [01:15:35] Speaker A: Yeah. But like mostly people were just like, like they don't, they didn't care what, you know, he'll face alignment. It was, they just wanted to see Pac because Pac is a big deal. [01:15:46] Speaker C: Yes. [01:15:47] Speaker A: And he, he did, he, he did like a good job of working his slower pace that he's been doing since he came back. While also still doing all his exciting high flyer. [01:16:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:16:00] Speaker A: Doing his like big wind up lariat move. Like he tried that three times and only got it once. [01:16:05] Speaker B: Yeah. He finally gets it at the, the last time. [01:16:10] Speaker A: Yep. [01:16:10] Speaker C: And Fletcher goes inside out for it as he should. [01:16:13] Speaker B: Yep. [01:16:14] Speaker C: Fantastic. [01:16:16] Speaker A: Like it was a good match. But like this, this is what I'm talking about where like the energy of the show kind of like has dipped since the promo because like I'm watching This show. I'm watching this match, I'm like, this is awesome. This rules. I'm tired. I'm not even in the building and I'm tired. I need a nap. But, yeah, so finish talking about the avalanche Poison. Rana. Oh, no. Go ahead, Hampter. Sorry. [01:16:44] Speaker B: Oh, no, no, not at all. Go ahead. I was just thinking about, like, the energy. It's a lot. It's just a lot to go over or a lot to absorb anyway. [01:16:54] Speaker C: And. God, three hours is too long for TV wrestling. I'm. I'm just saying it. I'm going to keep saying it. I'm going to continue to say it. [01:17:05] Speaker A: Anyway, he hit the black arrow and he actually won the match with the black arrow. [01:17:09] Speaker B: That was wild. [01:17:12] Speaker A: Usually he. Usually that doesn't finish it. Usually he puts on his submission move afterwards and that finishes it. But he actually won with the black arrow, I guess because they're in England. [01:17:24] Speaker C: And it's like, Fletcher, kid can't hurt you. He's. He's tied for first. Like three way, four way, tie for first. This, this is. This is a wild Continental Classic. Like, yeah. [01:17:37] Speaker A: Wow. [01:17:38] Speaker C: Wow. [01:17:38] Speaker B: Truly has been absolutely great every single match. Like, I am still not sure how. How Pac kicked out of the liger bomb. [01:17:50] Speaker C: No. Yeah. Several things that. [01:17:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:17:54] Speaker C: He had the power of being so close to Newcastle upon time or whatever. [01:17:59] Speaker A: He's close enough. Yes. He was able to. He was able to call the ancient spirits of the Saxons and Avalon. [01:18:06] Speaker C: Yes. [01:18:08] Speaker A: I don't know. [01:18:09] Speaker B: Standing brutalizer. [01:18:12] Speaker C: Yes. [01:18:12] Speaker A: I love when he does that. [01:18:14] Speaker C: I love. [01:18:15] Speaker A: I'm glad you brought that up because I love that. I love that you made that up. [01:18:19] Speaker B: I was like, what is that? [01:18:21] Speaker A: The way he does it. It looks kind of like a flying octopus hold, but it's like. Obviously it's not. It's different, but yeah, it's. God, there's like so much cool in this match. I know. Like, I'm. I'm. I'm like underselling it a little bit by like being kind of low energy on it. But, like, this was so good. [01:18:43] Speaker C: Oh, no, but that's how I felt about it too, is. It's like, it was really, really good. But also like the run of matches that Fletcher has had. [01:18:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:18:55] Speaker C: Not even in this cl. The Continental Classic, but like this whole year, it's just. It was like, it was fantastic. But in comparison to this run, it was, it was. It was all right. It's fine. It was really good, but it's fine. Both those things are true at the same time. [01:19:18] Speaker A: So Pac Pac is back in the, in the running for the, the Gold League. [01:19:24] Speaker C: And Gold. The Gold League is just like, everyone's in the running. Like something. [01:19:29] Speaker A: Everyone's in the running pretty much. Like they're probably gonna do a six way match at the pay per view. I don't know. Like Fletcher. Fletcher. Fletcher looked like he was gonna run away with it at the start, but he's lost two in a row, so now it's much more. It's a horse race. It's a horse race. [01:19:47] Speaker B: It's anyone. It's anyone race. [01:19:49] Speaker A: Anyone's race, possibly a horse. [01:19:52] Speaker B: Except Roderick Strong. [01:19:53] Speaker C: Except Roderick Strong. He's out. [01:19:55] Speaker A: Yeah, he's out. Sorry, Roddy. [01:19:58] Speaker C: Rip. [01:19:58] Speaker A: You deserve better. [01:19:59] Speaker C: Yeah. Rip. [01:20:02] Speaker A: Rip, rip. Oh, God. Okay. And then just, just like, just like in the show itself. I forgot this match was here in my notes. It's the Dynamite diamond ring Battle Royale. My first, my first note on this is I literally don't care about this match. [01:20:30] Speaker B: Holy. So many mans. And Rick Steiner throwback. [01:20:35] Speaker C: Many, many men. [01:20:36] Speaker A: Oh, that's right. Yeah. Josh Alexander wrestling headgear. He wears the red headgear, but he doesn't, he doesn't do transphobia. [01:20:44] Speaker C: As far as we know. As far as I can tell, Josh Alexander is actually a pretty cool cat from what I've said and heard. And I, I, I, I, I didn't know much about him, but I've come to really enjoy his work. He is terrifying. [01:20:59] Speaker B: Yeah, he scares me. [01:21:01] Speaker A: He's a lot scarier than I remember him being in tna. [01:21:04] Speaker C: Ever walking weapon. I'm like, yeah. Huh? [01:21:11] Speaker A: It's just a gun with legs. [01:21:13] Speaker C: Yeah. Everyone is in this match. [01:21:19] Speaker A: Yeah, everyone's in this match. This is, this is regular battle royale. Over the top rules and they wrestle until there's two left. And those two guys will have a regular ass match next week on no whatever show it is. Dynamite. Christmas Eve Dynamite. Are they doing. I hope they're not doing another Dino Legend. I'm gonna be tired. [01:21:45] Speaker C: No, I think it's a regular Dynamite, but it's dine. It's dynamite on 34th street for Christmas. Because it's Christmas. [01:21:53] Speaker B: Oh, my gosh. [01:21:54] Speaker C: Christmas Eve Dynamite. [01:21:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:21:56] Speaker C: Let's go. How have I. Hey. I, I have managed to. Abandoned, disowned and, and been kicked away from all the family I've ever had. So I'll be watching Dynamite on Christmas and recording on Thursday. I don't know about y'. [01:22:13] Speaker A: All. I'm going to, I'm going to too, because. [01:22:20] Speaker C: For less depressing reasons. Yeah. [01:22:23] Speaker A: Although on Christmas Eve, I'm going to Tokyo to see ddt. Christmas Eve show. [01:22:28] Speaker C: Oh, that rules. [01:22:30] Speaker A: That'll be fun. I get to see Dan's. Who doesn't like Christmas to me. Yeah, everyone's in this match. All the stars are here. [01:22:42] Speaker B: Sorry. [01:22:43] Speaker A: Although, like, I. I say jokingly that. But like, the crowd really kind of popped for Shelton, Benjamin and Luchasaurus going at it. Yeah, yeah, okay. Yeah, you should. [01:22:54] Speaker C: You should pop for that. [01:22:59] Speaker B: I took great pleasure introducing my friend to Luchasaurus. And I was like, is that a dinosaur wrestler? You may be asking yourself. The answer is yes. [01:23:11] Speaker A: He's a. He's a Frankenstein's monster. [01:23:14] Speaker C: What happens when he cuts a promo? He growls. Yeah, yeah. [01:23:18] Speaker B: Oh, that's so he's. [01:23:22] Speaker C: See also the beast Mortos. [01:23:24] Speaker B: Good, good. [01:23:27] Speaker C: He's a lawyer. [01:23:27] Speaker A: Let's see. I'm just like. I was just like, I'll take a note of anything cool that happens and then. All right, so the acclaimed actually did acclaimed things. They did scissor me timbers. [01:23:42] Speaker B: I. So I've never seen two men scissoring each other before, my friend. It's real. [01:23:49] Speaker C: Their whole thing was the scissoring. And you know who used to. You know who used to be in their corner and their. Their third father, ass. Billy Gunn. [01:24:01] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [01:24:02] Speaker C: So every week for like, a solid year, it was the summer of scissoring. Like, they would come out, Max would rap, and then Anthony Bowens would end their intro by going, scissoring me daddy ass. And they would all like, God, how. [01:24:19] Speaker B: Did Austin feel about that? Do they go to therapy? [01:24:23] Speaker C: I don't know. The Ass Boys. Yeah, no, the Ass Boys didn't enjoy that. [01:24:28] Speaker A: They also called the Ass Boys. [01:24:30] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Oh, I love the Ass Boys. All of that. No, that was a good time to be a wrestling fan. God damn. It was a great time to be a cool, queer wrestling fan. They won Hampter. They won the trio's titles. And they made them pink and they made them. They cut the ends. They cut the ends of the belt so that they would. They would interlock together so the belts could scissor. Yeah, it would. They're extra. I love them. [01:25:01] Speaker B: You've got a. You got a theme, you got a motif. You just kind of run with it. Yeah, okay. [01:25:07] Speaker C: There was whole scissor celebrations. There was Scissor Day. Yeah. National Scissoring Day became a thing. [01:25:14] Speaker A: So, yes, they're. They're going to do, like, their big scissor thing in the middle where they, you know, they meet in the middle and they scissor But Max Caster gets tossed. And then. [01:25:25] Speaker B: Yes. [01:25:25] Speaker A: Cool little guy. Ace Austin does a bunch of cool. [01:25:29] Speaker C: It's true. [01:25:30] Speaker A: He's, like, flipping around, doing kicks and ninja stuff, and then he gets tossed. It was like, no, no, no. You're too. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. [01:25:39] Speaker C: This is Battle Royal, buddy. [01:25:41] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, you're gone. And then I stopped paying attention. You think I blacked out for a second. And then, like, in the notes. No, like in the notes. I literally just say I stopped. I stopped paying attention. But then I saw Shelton was gonna toss Ricochet to Lucas. Rick Shelton. Benjamin grabs Ricochet, our little bald devil man, and tosses him. Yeah, he tosses him to Luchasaurus, and Luchasaurus slams him. And that was cool. I like that. [01:26:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:26:19] Speaker C: Yeah. These are things I enjoy. Yeah. [01:26:21] Speaker A: A bunch of eliminations happen all at once. So, like, Luchasaurus is tossed. Mark Davis gets tossed. He was like the big guy with the fat ass. [01:26:33] Speaker C: Man's butt is just stacked. It's amazing. Again, it's like his unofficial gimmick is that he's just. He's got the fattest ass. [01:26:45] Speaker A: Actually, like. Yeah. Rather than. Rather than just talk about the match, because the match didn't really have much to it. Hampter, is there anybody else in the match that you have questions about? [01:26:55] Speaker B: Okay. [01:26:56] Speaker C: Yeah, because this is a good. This is a. This is a good. Introduce the roster to. To him. [01:27:01] Speaker B: Yeah. Because I didn't know anybody who was in here outside of Luchasaurus. [01:27:05] Speaker C: All the stars. [01:27:07] Speaker B: And I was like, I stopped caring when he came out. I do have a question. I have two. First and foremost, the first one is, what was the Macarena that they did at the middle of the match? [01:27:24] Speaker A: That's Berto. So that's the little guy in the mask is Bandido, and the big guy with the beard is Brody King. And they were tag team champions. And Bandido's always trying to get his friend to do the Macarena with him. And then he always just goes, x. No. Throw up the X. Yeah. [01:27:43] Speaker C: Throws up the X. No, no, he did it. [01:27:46] Speaker B: But he did it. [01:27:46] Speaker A: He did it once. [01:27:47] Speaker B: He did it. [01:27:48] Speaker A: He. [01:27:48] Speaker C: And then they lost the belt. [01:27:50] Speaker A: Yeah, they lost. [01:27:52] Speaker C: And then. And then they lost the belt. So. Yeah. No, no, no, don't. Macarina is for Bandito only. [01:27:57] Speaker B: Well, he did it tonight or yester last night. [01:28:00] Speaker C: He did. Oh, I didn't even see it. Oh. I guess now they don't have the belts to lose. So it. [01:28:06] Speaker A: This is what I'm talking about. Blacking out. [01:28:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:28:12] Speaker A: I Definitely was. [01:28:13] Speaker B: So. So here's the thing. It could have been some. Theoretically, it could have been somebody else. I know it was Bandita, the little guy, but there was another person who also doing it. So I don't want to. But I don't know who it was, so I can't. [01:28:25] Speaker C: Here's another thing that there's the joys of modern wrestling because like we've talked about how. Oh, well, this guy's like the goat. This guy's like one of the best to be doing it right now. This guy's on an all timer run. Bandido isn't human. Bandito, he's not human. He knows. It's gotten to the point where that's become a mantra of amongst the fans that he's not human. He's Bandito. Like you like, that guy is so good. [01:28:53] Speaker B: Okay. [01:28:54] Speaker C: And he just gets to like be tag team champ with his buddy because like, just. I don't know. I love wrestling. Modern wrestling rules. Like, we are. We're eating so well Hampter every week and. [01:29:07] Speaker B: Yeah, I gotta say. [01:29:09] Speaker C: Oh, buddy, I'm so sorry I left you back in that basement watching the 90s stuff on daily Motion. [01:29:15] Speaker B: My tummy hurts. [01:29:17] Speaker C: Yeah, I know. You're eating not well. You're eating junk. Slim Jims and the self producing cheese sauce, it's not good. [01:29:28] Speaker A: But he left them there with the thing running and they had to sit through the whole Vince Russo era and the beaver cleavage. [01:29:37] Speaker C: I didn't. [01:29:38] Speaker B: Haven't quite made it till the end of 1996. So I got that. [01:29:41] Speaker C: Yeah. No, no. [01:29:42] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:29:47] Speaker B: Okay. So my, my second question then becomes, why didn't I want Ricochet to win? [01:29:55] Speaker A: I mean. Yeah. [01:30:00] Speaker C: Hate me energy. [01:30:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:30:02] Speaker C: Okay. Okay. [01:30:04] Speaker A: This whole deal is he is one of like the most athletic wrestlers on the planet. Like, he does crazy. He can. He basically moves in another dimension. [01:30:17] Speaker B: Yeah, right. [01:30:17] Speaker C: He's like a video game character. [01:30:19] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, but he's a heel, so he doesn't do that. What he does because he knows that. [01:30:26] Speaker C: We want him to. You. [01:30:28] Speaker A: Yeah. So like when he does it like, so like there was. There was usually like he does like this front flip and he just lands and wipes everybody out. But like in a match like a few months back, he did it and then landed. But because he's a heel, he's got to be like, oh God, that sucked. Why did I do that? Like, and, and he's. He's just obnoxious. He's funny. He's like easy to hate. He is. He's another Guy who's on, like, run of a lifetime right now. [01:30:56] Speaker B: Gotcha. Okay. [01:30:57] Speaker C: And he was in the Fed for a while, and. And they did not know what to do with him, and he was a baby face. And they're just like, go out there. You're our flippy guy. You go out there and you do flippy. And then we can say, we got flippy. You know, it's a, like, fulfillment fill the quota snap into a Slim Jim. So they got rid of him, and he came over here and is like, y' all know I can do, like, character work, right? And he's like, what if Andrew Tate wrestled? [01:31:33] Speaker B: Oh, no. [01:31:35] Speaker C: And, like, instantly made, like, everybody just hate him. Like, he. He turned it on and immediately Heat. Like, not quite Dom Heat, but getting there. Like, he. Immediate. He was immediately getting. Just, like, get you, dude. Like, just. Everyone just hates him. And. And, oh, my God. He. He won. He won. He's the national champion. Which is this new belt, which is supposed to be defended, like, on the Indies and in different promotions in different countries. And when he won that belt, I was excited because it meant he was going to be leaving. Yeah, that's the kind of Heat. So the fact that he's. Yeah. The fact that it came down to him and whatchamacallit. Who else won? Oh, God. Blackout. Bandido. It was another champion. So, yeah, it was Bandido. And Ricochet got the heel win by sneaking back in under the ropes after everyone else lost. [01:32:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:32:45] Speaker C: Yeah. You like, a. Right. [01:32:50] Speaker A: It sets up a. It's. That's gonna be such a great match because, like, you have a champion who's one of the most hated heels in the company versus a champion who's one of the most beloved faces in the company. That's like. [01:33:04] Speaker B: That is. [01:33:06] Speaker A: That is just fantastic. Well done. [01:33:09] Speaker C: Yeah, I was gonna say, like. Like, this is just good booking. Like, we gotta give it the photo here. [01:33:13] Speaker A: Like, I am ragging on this match, but, like, this was a good. This was such a good idea. Like, I can't wait to watch that match next week. There was. All right, one other cool spot I want to point out is Ricochet is out there with his. Has his. The Goa. The Goa. The. His two guys. And they were basically just trying to, you know, make sure he makes it to the end. And the. The. The bigger guys to. Is going to eliminate Bandito, But Brody King is got to be, like, the best friend to have because he literally just throws himself at T and eliminates himself and even does it screaming like, Mr. Oh, yeah. [01:33:59] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:34:00] Speaker A: I Was like, like incredible. Incredible. The match was worth it for that spot. [01:34:09] Speaker B: Yeah. Very good. [01:34:11] Speaker C: Because I just, I love that they're, they're, they're another one where like they were just thrown together and they got over so hard that they gave him the titles because everyone was like, oh, brodido, that we love this now. But like the, the dynamic that came out of it is just we are best friends and, and Goonies never say die, basically. And like that's, that's their whole thing. And the fact that Brody would, would literally take a bullet for his little buddy. So like, this was just beautiful, you know, like what was otherwise a blackoutable match. The ending was quite cinematic and wonderful. I loved it. It was good. [01:35:02] Speaker A: It was beautiful. So then it's time for three. We're going to number three. It's time for collision. This, this is the point where Triller was just like, I have no idea how this is gonna work. Good luck. Like usually, usually when they have the three hour things, thriller feed will just roll into collision. But this time, no, it didn't. It just stopped. And I was like, I don't know where. [01:35:25] Speaker C: That's the HBO way. Yeah. [01:35:27] Speaker A: I am going to go take a shower. And I was already in like a really shitty mood and I felt like really annoyed after the promo. And I'm just like in the shower just like being angry the whole time is like, oh, my hair wash. 79. I like, I had to wash off the 79 tank in the shower. [01:35:51] Speaker C: That's my. [01:35:55] Speaker A: Max didn't do it. The whole segment. Just ground everything. It's the whole thing. It's not just Max's fault because unless, unless, unless Tony Khan said, just let Max talk as long as he wants. Actually, no, even then that's Tony Khan's fault because don't let Max talk that much. If you move it, move it. All right. Collision. God. [01:36:22] Speaker C: We're on hour two of our, of our show and our three of the show. Let's go. [01:36:29] Speaker B: Speaking of people that are also lost in the stank, Mox's out here all Hamlet like talking about his place and all, putting it all out in the line. [01:36:44] Speaker C: Lost in the stank for sure. [01:36:47] Speaker A: I know. It smells crazy in there. Yeah. [01:36:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:36:50] Speaker A: Yes. So this, this is, this is how Jon Moxley does promos. And I, I love how he does promos. It's like, like you, you talk about 79 stink. Like, yeah, he, he's got 79 stink. Like he's doing, he's doing se, like Terry Funk right now. [01:37:06] Speaker C: Yes. [01:37:07] Speaker A: And he's just, like. He's just talking about, like, how much he loves the C2 because it's simple. You go to the ring with what you got. And he likes to push people to the limit because when he does, it changes people. He says he turned Kyle O'Reilly into a monster and pushed. Roderick Strong was 30 seconds away from knocking him out of the tournament. This was a good promo. He's gonna turn baby face soon. I'm excited for that. [01:37:32] Speaker C: Yep. They're gonna kill him. They're gonna come out with a bag over the head, and it's gonna be so sexy and awesome and terrifying. Yep. [01:37:40] Speaker A: Yeah. I really hope that's what happens. All right, we have one more Homicide. I love homicide. [01:37:50] Speaker C: Yes. [01:37:51] Speaker B: Orange Cassidy. [01:37:54] Speaker A: Yes. We have our third and final conglomerating Continental Classic match. Blue League Orange Cassidy versus Mascara Dorada. Oh, man, this was good. Mascara Dorada is not conglomeration, though. He is conglomeration adjacent. Civilian. I believe that is the designation. [01:38:14] Speaker C: Yes, that. That's what we decided. Yeah. He's just. He's there and he's like, hey, y' all seem cool. I'm gonna wave at the camera. I'm Mascara Dorada. I didn't realize he was only 24 years old. Holy. [01:38:27] Speaker B: Yeah, baby. [01:38:27] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. He's. He's a baby. [01:38:29] Speaker C: He's a baby wrestling for four years. Like, whoa. [01:38:36] Speaker A: Yeah. So, like, I love this. This might actually be my favorite match of the night because they did a completely different pace and they kind of wanted it. Like, I. I realized right away they're doing, like, the. The yave Mexican grappling stuff. And then I realized the reason why they're doing it is because they're in England and they can do world sports. [01:39:00] Speaker C: Yep. [01:39:02] Speaker A: And that's exactly what it was. [01:39:03] Speaker C: It was. [01:39:04] Speaker A: It was not. It was good. It was very. It was. Oh, man, it was so good. They're doing, like, all this, like, technical little stuff. They're doing these fun escapes. They're. They're having fun, fun with it, essentially. [01:39:19] Speaker C: They're not doing big. It wasn't a big spot fest. It was a lot of, like, grappling and, like, lucha grappling, which. Which Orange can do again. Those Shikara boys love their lucha. Oh, God. I don't think we've ever. This Orange Cassidy used to be an ant. He was a masked luchador who was a fire ant, and he had a stable of ants. [01:39:49] Speaker B: I thought you meant a U, n. [01:39:51] Speaker C: T. No, no, no. He was a luchador ant. A n, T. I love an ant. Colony. [01:39:57] Speaker B: That's so good. And. Yeah. And yes, he's got that reddish hair. Yeah, nice. [01:40:03] Speaker C: That makes sense. He's a fight. He's a fire ants. So needless to say, O.C. can lucha. [01:40:08] Speaker A: Yeah, I really like spot where O.C. into a Romero special and then O.C. counters out of it and gets his own. Like, I don't think I've seen that before. [01:40:24] Speaker C: Yeah, they're like, like, how has no one thought to do that before? Okay, it's. It's a weird. [01:40:30] Speaker A: It's a weird transition they were doing. They were doing grapples and escapes like, like, like in ways I have never seen before. And it was. It just worked. It was so perfect. Like, Orange Cassidy powders out on the floor. He goes to the fan. It was like, how much time is left? [01:40:50] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [01:40:53] Speaker A: Like, how much longer do I have to do this? [01:40:56] Speaker C: Which is the gimmick. Oh, yeah. I'm so tired, Renee. I'm so tired. Yeah. One of my favorite promos of all time was when he was on this amazing title run where he would just come out every week and put on like, these fire matches and get the shit beat out of them. And as the weeks would go on, you would have more and more Kinesio tape on and be more and more beat up and like, finally be like, how you doing, Orange? Renee, I'm so tired. I will go sit down. [01:41:31] Speaker B: Orange Cassidy is all of us. [01:41:33] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [01:41:34] Speaker B: Basically he's good, but he's got the juice. [01:41:37] Speaker C: He's a perfect fan insert. [01:41:39] Speaker A: He's got the juice. He just doesn't want to do it. [01:41:42] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, he can. He just. [01:41:45] Speaker A: I'm so tired, Renee. I'm so tired. What happens next? All right, so, like, they come out of the commercial and they pick up the pace a little bit with some arm drags. And Dorada gets a nice escalara and like the. The rope walk one. So then Orange tries to do one. [01:42:03] Speaker C: Of his and he puts his hand in the pocket. [01:42:07] Speaker A: Yeah, he's like, like, first off, like, instead of like doing like the bounce between the ropes, he's kind of like shuffling his feet on the roof. And then he puts the hand in the pocket and it does the. The arm drag. [01:42:22] Speaker C: He goes. [01:42:24] Speaker A: He goes for another. He goes for a topic associated, but Dorada blocks it, run, gets. Gets like this comeback kick, like this 619 spinny thing. Does his own suicida and then hits this shooting star press from the apron to the floor. And that was like, geez, dude. Gee. [01:42:47] Speaker B: Yeah, that was also in my notes, that shooting star press was just gross. [01:42:53] Speaker A: So I guess the story of the match was that they were attacking OC's back hurt from wrestling Roddy in the last match. Yeah, his back hurts, and so he can't do a lot of. He can't do a lot of his power moves. So, like, he's trying to do the beach break and he can't get it because his back hurts too much. And then Dorada hits him with the power sling. Keeps going for oc, does his. He tries to do his. His DDT counter. And this is another thing I've never seen before. Dorada just puts his hands down and does a handstand to block a ddt. [01:43:30] Speaker C: Just blocks it with his hands. Yeah, the. [01:43:35] Speaker B: Yeah, I have never. [01:43:38] Speaker A: Turns out you just put your hands up and do a handstand and you can't be ddt. Wow. [01:43:44] Speaker C: Arne Anderson knew this the whole time. He didn't tell anybody what hard. [01:43:50] Speaker B: He just couldn't do it with that bad left arm. [01:43:53] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Oh, God. Not even but a button anymore. Oh, go. You haven't gotten that far. Oh, no, not yet. [01:44:02] Speaker A: Oh. [01:44:02] Speaker C: The retirement of A.R. anderson. Sad. Anyways, back to 96. [01:44:10] Speaker A: No, stay here. Stay here with Orange. Yeah, so Orange. Orange transfers punch. Dorada blocks it and gets, like, another thing. I've never seen a, like, tilt a world lung blower back breaker. Yeah, like, yeah, I've seen Tilt world back breakers. I've never seen a Tilt war backbreaker where, like, you get tossed in the air and the guy gets both his knees into your back. What the. Dude? [01:44:38] Speaker C: Like, there's. And then there's whatever the. These two were doing. Like. [01:44:44] Speaker B: I. [01:44:44] Speaker A: Like, God. So, like, Dorada goes to the top rope and Orange pushes it, pushes him off. Tries for another Orange punch, but gets caught. Dorada tries for a pinning combination, and OC counters into a crucifix and gets the win. And, like, holy crap. This match was so good. Like, I needed. Like, you have no idea how badly I needed this match yesterday. [01:45:09] Speaker C: Like, after being brought all the way down, you're like, yes. [01:45:13] Speaker B: Yeah, like, breathe new life into you. [01:45:15] Speaker A: No, like, all right, so, like, just like, disclosure, I woke up in a bad mood yesterday, and that definitely tainted how I felt watching the first part of Dynamite. And then I came back and this was, like, the first match I welcomed back with, and I'm like, ah, I feel life again. [01:45:32] Speaker C: Yeah, okay. No, like, life is good again. [01:45:34] Speaker A: Yeah, life is good. Orange Cassidy tosses Dorada a pair of aviators as a sign of Respect tries. [01:45:42] Speaker B: To put him on. [01:45:43] Speaker A: I don't know. I. I think it puts Orange Cassidy at six points in the blue league. Yeah, I don't. I have to look, I have to update. I have to update spreadsheet. I don't have. Well, I should have done a spreadsheet. But yeah, he's. He's got. [01:45:59] Speaker B: Yeah, he's got six points. [01:46:01] Speaker A: He's got points. He's got a few more matches left, so he could make a surprise run. [01:46:06] Speaker C: I still think it's going to be Takeshita and Okada, but if it's not. [01:46:11] Speaker A: Takesha and Okada, I will literally buy a plane ticket. [01:46:22] Speaker C: Ring bell. Ring bell. [01:46:29] Speaker A: Is that dramatic? That might be a bit dramatic. A little bit. [01:46:33] Speaker C: Little bit. [01:46:35] Speaker A: But I'm also serious. I will fly to Daily's place and. [01:46:39] Speaker C: Yo, stop, please. [01:46:47] Speaker A: With a knife. [01:46:49] Speaker C: Jesus Christ. Okay. The worst part is I can't even move it along because Erica's driving. [01:46:59] Speaker B: It's pretty much in the end of the match. [01:47:01] Speaker C: So it's like when the pilot decides, you know what? I'm sick of life and I'm taking you all with me. Where's the nearest mountain? [01:47:10] Speaker A: All right. Lexi Nair promo with Athena and Mercedes. They feel great because they beat the champions in that eight man tag. Eight woman tag. Excuse me. It's very rude to me. So now they are going to get a shot at the Babes of Wrath for the tag titles at World's End. [01:47:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:47:30] Speaker A: And Mercedes is feeling. Particularly feeling her oats. So she issues an open challenge for collision on Saturday. Any local competitor can come challenge her for the TBS title. [01:47:43] Speaker C: No, for. I thought it was for the British. [01:47:46] Speaker B: It's the British ones. [01:47:47] Speaker C: It's the British one. The Rev Pro ones. It was. Didn't she say she was putting those. [01:47:51] Speaker A: Oh, it's not the tbs. It's a Rev Pro. [01:47:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:47:54] Speaker C: Yeah. Because they're in England. She's like, hey, I got an English, but we're in England. She's gonna start losing those belts. [01:48:00] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:48:02] Speaker C: Yeah. So I, I think that. Yeah. Who's gonna beat Mercedes for the Rev Pro? [01:48:07] Speaker A: I did see. So it's. I think it'll make people happy. [01:48:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:48:15] Speaker A: So a women's match, Jamie Hayter versus. Yeah, I. I have no idea how good Isla is because I've. She's like, primarily been on NXT her career. So like, I've never seen her. [01:48:35] Speaker C: She. Hey, she's a. A women's tag team champ in the, in the Fed in the main roster for a while. [01:48:42] Speaker A: Okay. That doesn't tell me if She's a good wrestler or not. [01:48:46] Speaker C: She's pretty solid wrestler. And also I'm a sucker for a redhead and every time she comes on I just go side two redheads. [01:48:53] Speaker B: Actually. You're so. You get. You get two. [01:48:55] Speaker C: I had a wonder. I'm having a wonderful. Oh God. Jamie. Hater. Oh my God. [01:48:59] Speaker B: Oh God. Yeah. [01:49:00] Speaker A: I love behavior. [01:49:02] Speaker C: Can I just read me any day. [01:49:04] Speaker B: Oh my God. That is the best finisher name ever, hands down. Oh my God. Oh, it's like. Is that. Is it Haterade? Yes. [01:49:15] Speaker C: Haterade. [01:49:16] Speaker A: Yes. [01:49:17] Speaker C: And she wants EDM and she loves edm. So occasionally the guy who does a bunch of the music for Aw will have the Hater rave. And. And that's why. Yeah. No, her, her. Her theme song is like total like rave music and it's because she's a, like a rave chick. She's just dressed like from the 60s and 70s. [01:49:40] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:49:43] Speaker B: You know what I'll accept was very mod. I wonder if it was like a callback to like British mod fashion. That's what I thought. [01:49:51] Speaker C: Kinda. Yeah. No, that's her. Her fashion for sure. And then she comes up. But her song is very. Yeah. I love. I love her. Yeah. This match. Speaking of things I loved. Yeah, good stuff, Good stuff. [01:50:07] Speaker A: This was not a bad little match. Little is the operative word. The heat section was kind of meh. I didn't really particularly get excited for Elsa's Isla, whatever the. Her name. The. The Scottish chick. [01:50:24] Speaker B: Yeah, you can call it on Isla Don. [01:50:27] Speaker A: Dawn. Isla Dawn. Dawn, yeah, Dawn. Her. Her heat was not great, I thought. But then, you know, when Jamie made her come back, it was a lot better. So like she hit that really cool backdrop. [01:50:41] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:50:42] Speaker A: And then, and then I. I don't know what Jamie was going for. It looked like she was trying to do like a sit out Urinagi kind of move, but it looked kind of. It didn't really matter because she hit the Hater aid immediately after that and that was the end of it. [01:50:58] Speaker C: Indeed. So I think, I think Isla Dawn's still got some fed stink is the thing. Like I feel like she's. She didn't get release that long ago. Like it's. It's been like six months, something like that. So she's been like probably out on the Indies in a bit. But like I've only. She's. I've only seen her in aw. Twice in this honest Europe trip. Well, weeks basically. [01:51:25] Speaker B: So Scottish. So I, you know. [01:51:28] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. No, so they're, you know, she's over there but like I, I, it's like, I don't. We'll put it this way. I don't think we're going to be seeing Isla dawn as all elites graphics at the end of, End of this, this little tour, like, occasionally that happens, they'll, like, go someplace and, like, they'll, you know, have someone who's, like, local show up and it's like, oh, you rule. We're signing you, you know? Yeah. But, like, I don't know. I don't think they're gonna sign Iowa. [01:51:59] Speaker A: I think, I think it'll depend on crowd reaction and all that. Yeah, like, I think that's a lot. Like, I'm pretty sure, like, the reason Brian Keith got signed was because, like, fans love Brian Keith, and I don't. [01:52:12] Speaker C: Think that's exactly it. Yeah, they bring them out to see how they can work with their people and how the crowd reacts. [01:52:17] Speaker A: And I don't. I don't necessarily know if D has that kind of crowd reaction yet. D. So Jamie tries to give some props to Dwan, but then the triangle of madness attacks, and Tekla takes a belt off and smacks Hater across the chest with it. I look like it sucked. Oh, so women champion. [01:52:41] Speaker B: There will be whipping. I can roll with that. [01:52:43] Speaker A: I mean, I'm good with it, but it looked like it sucks. [01:52:46] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, it. Absolutely. [01:52:48] Speaker A: It's like, it's like, it's like, this is hot, but I regret it. [01:52:55] Speaker B: Such as life. [01:52:58] Speaker A: Statlander. [01:52:58] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:52:59] Speaker A: The champion, Chris Statlander, comes to make the save, and she's, like, throwing butches around, and then she's trying to do some convoluted setup for something, but then Jamie Hayter clotheslines her. Was it an accident? It doesn't matter because Jamie doesn't really seem to care and nor should she. She's facing. [01:53:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:53:17] Speaker A: Statlander at the pay per view. Get your licks in, girl. [01:53:22] Speaker B: The haterade. [01:53:22] Speaker A: But she hit her. [01:53:25] Speaker B: I was like, oh, yeah, there'll still be the, the, like, the, the feuding, saving each other from, like, various factions, even though you're gonna be opponents for a big match. Like, I was like, oh, yes, this is familiar to me. [01:53:40] Speaker A: Yes. [01:53:40] Speaker C: That old chestnut. [01:53:42] Speaker B: Yeah, Very Sid and Shawn Michael. [01:53:46] Speaker C: Yes. [01:53:48] Speaker A: Shut up. Cut that out. Jamie. Hater. This Psycho Sid of. [01:54:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Yes. [01:54:04] Speaker A: Like, it doesn't work at all, but I'm gonna go with it. [01:54:07] Speaker C: No, no, not even a little bit. That's only seen 1990s wrestling vibes. I'm getting Psycho Sid vibes from this lady. [01:54:16] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. It's the big. It's the big baby. Big boss baby. [01:54:21] Speaker A: If any of, if any of the women in the women's division have Psycho Sid vibes, it's Tecla. [01:54:26] Speaker C: But yeah, no tackle's got. Oh my God. Jesus Christ. She's terrifying. Yes, she, she has the same Psycho Sid vibes like Sid Udi was like, oh, you scared me, scary guy. Very scary. [01:54:42] Speaker A: So now we come here. Come to the. The main event of the evening. The AEW Men's World Tag Team title. FTR defending against the Bang Bang gangs, Juice Robinson and Austin Gunn. This is one of the Ass boys. This is Billy Kid, Billy Gunn's son Austin. He's Team Tassel tonight. [01:55:05] Speaker C: Yep, yep. 18 Tasseling. They mentioned it in on commentary, but I forgot that like on one of the early collisions. Jay White and Juice versus FTR went almost an hour. Like, like just amazing match. And like they mentioned it, they mentioned it on commentary and I was like, oh, that's right. So like these two have a little bit of history. And I was like, I forgot that they had that, that absolute barn burner on collision a while back and it was a different iteration of, of Bang Bang Gang. Yeah. So it's been a while, but like this was, this was the match where like at the end of this I was like, you know what? That ass boy. That ass boy can go. He's gotten real good. Yeah. [01:55:59] Speaker B: Has so much energy and he moves so quickly for a man that is actually super big, comparatively speaking. Like, he very much reminds me of. Yeah. Of old school wrestlers. It's very. He's a rectangle, basically. [01:56:15] Speaker C: Yeah, no, no, he very much reminds me of his dad. He's like, he's a bigger dude. He can the power moves, but he moves just so quick like it's nothing. [01:56:24] Speaker A: That's the other thing. Like the, the guns are young. Like. Yeah, they were only like 21 a couple years ago. So like they're, they're, they, they are babies. So they, they, they, they, they will grow into their bodies. They will probably be as huge as their dad, which. [01:56:42] Speaker C: Yeah, you haven't seen dad, Daddy Ass hasn't been on TV since we dragged you in. But he's huge still. Billy Gunn is jacked. [01:56:55] Speaker A: Billy Gunn said, I am, I am become Steroid Destroyer Quads. [01:57:03] Speaker B: I'm excited. Okay, let's go. [01:57:07] Speaker A: But yeah, so like this, this, this match, this match ruled. Yeah, there's not like, again, it's like, it's another one where there's not like a whole lot to it, but like they do all these little Things really well. So, like, you know, Juice and Austin get to come in, and they show, like, all the baby face fire, and they. They counter some of those early, despicable FDR heel tag team shits. And then eventually, you know, the catches up with them, and they have the heat on them the whole time. And eventually, like, they're working over Austin and they're just doing their tag after tag after tag after tag after tag. It's just like. That's just how FTR does it. Like, they just do, like, this constant rotating. And then, like, there was, like. [01:57:52] Speaker C: You mean good tag fundamentals? [01:57:55] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Complimentary. [01:57:59] Speaker C: There you go. [01:58:01] Speaker A: I mean, complimentary. Like, it's. It's good. It's good. And then so, like. All right, so, like, I love the hot tag in this because Austin's, like, struggling and struggling and struggling, and then, like, he almost gets it. And Cash Wheeler just grabs him around the waist. [01:58:19] Speaker C: Yep. [01:58:19] Speaker A: And then something that, like, you almost never see baby faces do is, like, he just guns just like, no, this. And he drags him across the ring and gets the tag to Juice Robinson and crazy. [01:58:33] Speaker B: It's. [01:58:34] Speaker A: It's gotta be. It can't be understated. How over Juice was the crowd. Like, they're just singing. [01:58:39] Speaker B: Yes. [01:58:39] Speaker A: There it is. The whole time. [01:58:41] Speaker B: Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Every hit was Juice, Juice, Juice. It was. [01:58:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:58:47] Speaker C: Wild as they should be. He's my good, good little gremlin boy. He's a little goblin, man. [01:58:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Awesome. [01:58:53] Speaker A: I actually have that noted on here. Crowd is hot for the grandma. Yeah. Like, and also credit people. People don't like FTR because of 79 stink. But, like, oh, man, they are good. [01:59:07] Speaker C: Yeah, but they are stinky as far as that. 79 stink. Oh, they are very stinky. [01:59:14] Speaker A: Yeah, they have it. They have it. [01:59:15] Speaker C: They're heel tastic. Oh, they got it. [01:59:20] Speaker A: What happens? Stokely has the cocaine in his hand. Yeah. And he's gonna throw it at Juice, but Juice stops him, and he's just like, cocaine. I'll have some of that. But then, you know, it goes flying. It goes flying. An FTR crashes into. I think it was gun crashed into him. And powder goes flying everywhere. The crowd is now stoned. Good for them. [01:59:46] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:59:47] Speaker A: I don't know how cocaine works. [01:59:49] Speaker B: Tag team title shenanigans. There's always shenanigans when the tag team title is on the line. [01:59:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Especially with Stokely and ftr. Like, that's like. Like, they. They like doing the old school heel. It's like, that's why they have powder. Powder. Yeah, the powder. [02:00:06] Speaker B: Powder. [02:00:08] Speaker A: We talked about the. They were talk. They were calling back to the. The. The Bang Bang Gang versus FTR match from, like, years and years ago. They do this power and glory spot that comes directly from that match where power and glory is usually FTR's move. But bang Bang Gang hits it. But then after they hit the splash, Cash comes flying in with his own splash. So, like, that's. That's like, that's right out of the. The first match that they were talking about. Really close. Near fall after a famous or Austin goes crashing into the timekeeper area. Looked disgusting. Like he. He ran a thousand miles an hour. [02:00:51] Speaker B: Yeah. I didn't understand why. So it just looked like he was running at the time keeper area and just like, threw himself into it. It was weird. It was probably the. I was just like, okay. [02:01:06] Speaker C: Yeah, camera timing. [02:01:08] Speaker B: Yeah, it was Wheeler, though. [02:01:10] Speaker A: It was weird. I didn't understand it, but it looked cool. Good job, Austin. Yeah. [02:01:15] Speaker B: And then Robinson had no one to tag. [02:01:17] Speaker A: Yep, yep. Good job, buddy. He does come back. He does come back. So they're. They're. They're his shatter machine, but it gets blocked. Juice hits the right hand of God. They had a famouser and they actually very, very, very, very close. Counted three. Like. Like the crowd thought they counted three, but Dax got his foot on the rope at the very, very last fucking second. [02:01:42] Speaker C: He, like, his hand hit basically, but he didn't like. Like he didn't make the count. And he immediately. The ref jumped up and went over to the bell. Like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It was only two. It's like he caught. He's like. He saw the foot as it was coming down. That's the closest, almost three I think I've ever seen. Basically it gets. Yeah, that's as close as you're gonna get. [02:02:10] Speaker A: And like, you know that it work, that it worked because the whole crowd bought it. Like, the whole crowd was like, holy. [02:02:16] Speaker C: Yep. [02:02:17] Speaker A: And then they were just booing and booing and booing when they realized that, like, it wasn't actually a title change. Match continues. They do this figure four lock and Dax, like, jumps on Juice's knee from the top rope and. And they puts him in this other leg hold and you struggles and struggles and struggles and he has to tap and that's it. FTR retains end of the show. That was so long. [02:02:49] Speaker C: So much wrestling. That was a lot of wrestling. [02:02:52] Speaker A: It's a lot of wrestling. [02:02:54] Speaker B: So much wrestling. [02:02:56] Speaker A: It was up and down for me, but you know what it was? The collision segment of the show was incredible. [02:03:02] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Like I complained. But that last hour, that back half that back hour was exquisite. I, I absolutely agree that Orange and Scar Dorada get match of the night for me. Kyle and and the bastard Neville close second. [02:03:22] Speaker B: I. Yeah, I really enjoyed the million dollar match and Pack versus Fletcher. [02:03:29] Speaker C: I think Baby's first Elite Trios match. [02:03:32] Speaker B: Yeah, it was. [02:03:34] Speaker A: I was just. [02:03:35] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [02:03:37] Speaker C: I said. I said Baby and Moxie made chirpy noises because she thought I was talking about her competition. Yeah, competition is a different beat. I created a different. The Hampter Sero. Oh, yo soy Hampter Sero. Oh, I'm gonna have to do that instead of the ultimate after intro from now on. Yeah. I'm gonna be your Don Callis. Yep. Folks, thank you for. For listening. This was so long. Pip, I'm so sorry that you have to edit. [02:04:15] Speaker A: I'm sorry. Yeah, as a marathon, we're all. We're all a little bit loopy. [02:04:20] Speaker C: But I love you. You're. You're a good pup and we miss you and we hope that you can come pod with us soon. And everyone else, thank you for listening. Go to patreon.com andff pod and give us money because that helps us do the things. Because we're all poor and. [02:04:39] Speaker A: Yeah, give us money. We'll fly to daily's place. [02:04:43] Speaker C: No, no. Ding, ding, ding. We gotta get out of here, folks. We're out of time. [02:04:53] Speaker A: Happy wrestling. [02:04:55] Speaker C: Happy wrestling. [02:05:11] Speaker B: They just. They should just kiss. Maybe they should just kiss.
